[The mega post timeskip taking you from February to the beginning of June.]

School sucks, but now it’s over.

It’s the end of May, and you have graduated. Long story short, you are a genius. You even did the hat thing where you throw it at somebody to prove how smart you are, though you made sure to grab it before leaving the ceremony.

You always found school things kind of dumb, because you didn’t really see a point to any of it. Like. When are you going to need to calculate centripetal force? When are you going to use the food pyramid to plan your diet? Never, that’s when.

But as it turns out, since you weren’t that far away from graduating anyway, you were also pretty close to qualifying for college. While you’re not Rowan and you don’t have some thousands of dollars of scholarship to Stanford, there are cheapo art universities in San Francisco that even you can get into.

Studying math is stupid, but if it lands you in some class titled ‘Impact Sculpture’, then sure, why the hell not. Once you found the motivation, forcing yourself to manage the workload and study and stuff almost fell into place. Cass’s guidance and the hired tutors were helpful too.

Recently you’ve been working on your portfolio. Apparently all the fancy art people have them. Yours, though, is way more metal by far, and the thought of busting it over some suit’s face gets you giddy inside.
>>
>>39757151

Your out of school education has taken interesting turns as well. For example, you now know the entire alphabet, from ‘O’ to the syllable mark. Reading Heltic words is a breeze – it’s all phonetic. Although the redundancy in letters is kind of weird. Spelling is problematic as well, given that you can’t tell which identical sounding letter needs to be in a certain place. But whatever.

Speaking and listening though, that’s not so bad. You have Orias showing you the ropes, and he’s a pretty good teacher. He makes it kind of fun, like, you’re not just learning the language, you’re learning history and cultural stuff too. After you got over the initial hump, you find more and more stuff just comes to you. Reading the Book of Suffering is pretty easy.

You see a word, and once Orias reminds you of what it is, you remember it forever. Even if it looks different in conjugation, sounding it out snaps it back into place. It’s weird. Kind of like feeling somebody’s face in the dark, but then hearing them speak, and knowing instantly who it is.

The language lessons come with some etiquette junk too, which is supposed to be kind of important. Like, yeah, maybe you can lunge out and attack people at fancy parties, but there are certain protocols for how to do it so people don’t think poorly of you. All good to know.

Speaking Heltic is really different than speaking English, though. You feel like the way words come out is a lot more... sophisticated than how you usually sound? Like, not necessarily in the content, but just the words you find yourself using feel weirdly archaic and formalistic in comparison to your regular mortal tongue.

While remembering how to be bilingual is cool, and chatting with Ranthix and Waldric in their native languages is cool too, learning magic is a whole hell of a lot cooler. With Xanissil offering to teach you the secrets of blood magic, there was no question about it, and man, was it wild.
>>
>>39757167

There’s a few basics of magic, and while you’re pretty cruddy at all of them, you at least know how to be cruddy at them. Doing bad magic is infinitely better than not doing magic at all. Moriah’s really helpful here with this kind of thing. She’s a lot more better at teaching the basics than Xan.

There’s inculcation, which involves searing will and power into objects outside yourself – basically enchanting crap. Then there’s evocation, which is turning willpower and regular old... power power into real stuff in the physical world. You’re better at that. And the other thing you don’t immediately fail at is channeling, which is screwing around with existing magical energies with mostly your will.

Of course there’s a hundred or so schools of arcane junk, and there’s rituals and there’s alchemy and whatnot, but talking about the building blocks, it’s all about evoking stuff and channeling energies. At least the flashy stuff is. But flashy stuff is the best stuff, so that’s what you’re interested in.

Blood magic is sketchy to be honest, but it’s also damn cool. Xan teaches you how to use the power in your own blood to do magic stuff. It kind of hurts and leaves you sore, but you’re just a beginner anyway, so. The useful thing is if you get your power sucked out of you, you still have blood, so you’re never truly without power unless you’re dead.

Then there’s some funky stuff about feeling things going on with other people’s blood. You’re not too good at this yet, but with effort you can discern the different kinds of blood in people. Like, Ranthix’s blood is way different than Rowan’s. And you can kind of make people’s blood do things? Like. You can nudge it into purifying itself, or you can kind of push more sugar and stuff into the stream. Kind of like a more OCD version of your instinctual ability to cause hemophilia, where you have control of all the variables.
>>
>>39757191

The most sketchy part is how you kind of have to carve spells into your flesh. You promised yourself a long time ago to stop digging knives into your skin, but this doesn’t really count because it’s for magic. You heal fast and you don’t scar too much, and you don’t really mind the pain, so it’s just something that’s new, you suppose.

There’s a whole lot of other things, some more useful, but those are the basics. You’re also finally able to do more complex magical things, without necessarily beforehand knowing what you’re doing. Your improv is limited, but you’re not just limited to your reflexive, natural talents.

Xanissil doesn’t only help you with magic, though. Her and Xathix act as co-coaches for you through Ranthix’s demon boot camp course. You can tell all of the Inferni want you to put more time into doing your martial training, but even Ranthix can tell you’ve got a lot on your plate trying to get good at everything simultaneously, and doesn’t push to monopolize your time.

What time you do have to spare, though, is well spent. After hinting to Ranthix that you wanted to be able to take a couple hits like he does, you know, and toss bears around, you found your workouts and stuff changed a little bit. There’s a lot more focus on toughening up, you know, and working muscle, instead of running around all over the place.

There’s still a lot of running barefoot through the forest with an angry demon barking wisdom at you the whole way, but there’s also a lot more you getting beat up and beating up between you, Xath, and Xan. The younger chaos knights make for better sparring parters than their uncle, mostly because you actually have a chance at beating them, even though it’s pretty slim in a straight up fight.

You really depend on your shadows and magic to get through fighting. But as days turned into months, you found yourself better able to stand your ground versus Xanissil, if not her brother.
>>
>>39757208

Inferni are way strong, and way tough, but since that’s you too, you feel it start to rub off. While you’re still not going to be lifting up cars any time soon, you have a lot more energy nowadays, and it’s obvious from looking at you that you work out a little. Or a lot.

The extra endurance helps you out in sparring with Ro, too. You and her kind of start drifting away from the whole claws versus swords thing. The both of you get enough of that from your other demon pals. Instead, you hone in on swordplay. Rowan knows enough for the both of you, and she knows rapiers just as well as she does broadswords.

With the number of arms in Isaac’s arsenal, you get to practice with her with a variety of weapons and forms. You and her practice fighting with axes, spears, shields, knives, and all kinds of medieval kinds of weapons. Of course, the sword versus sword thing comes first and foremost, but learning the basics of the other stuff helps a lot when you’re fighting against it, and knowing the strengths and weaknesses of other weapons helps you understand the merits of Zelathis the lightning sword.

By the end of the semester, you can actually hold your own against Rowan blade to blade, and even here and there get hits on her – when she’s screwing around and trying new stuff, anyway. It still counts though.
You get a few chances to put all your super cool knowledge and training to use on the conclave. If you’re truthful with yourself, you really haven’t been the best conclave person, besides a couple token gestures. And Maviel had a point when she said there was a lot to learn. You know it might be far away, but if you’re ever going to be the Imperiate, you know, a queen type of person, and you don’t want to be horrible, you really need to get a handle on the whole political thing.

You make a point of proving to Waldric that you can be responsible. It’s also for you too, though.
>>
>>39757219

If you can’t be responsible for things, nobody’s ever going to give you respect. Titles and crap can only get you so far.

You go out of your way to attend all the meetings and councils. While they are kind of boring, as you start to get involved in things, they kind of stop being so boring. Ranthix’s presence helps a lot in keeping you interested. His outbursts of opinion and decisions shake things up, especially when he’s often got the support of his niece and nephew (and you). The pro-Imperiate block, as you like to call it, manages to squeeze a lot of more straightforward policies out of Waldric.

About the fief, though, you start going with Waldric and others on official conclave business. What official conclave business is, though, depends on who you’re with at the time.

With Waldric, it’s usually sitting down with people in nice suits and chatting about stuff, and picking apart their emotional reactions about every little thing, and sneaking into the back and spying on things. With Ranthix, it’s mostly about yelling people into doing what you want them to, or yelling until their fears or objections wither away, or smacking them around a little until they give.

Xath and Xan are two sides of the same coin, and that coin is pretty scary. Both of them are incredibly dangerous when they want to be, and they do a good job of leveraging the idea that you don’t want to make them angry. They’re an interesting counterpoint to Ranthix, though. Whereas Ranthix never compromises on anything, the twins are more flexible about working with others and finding alternative solutions.

Orias’s mode is generally one of reason, and he’s good at talking people around about the common good and things like that. As far as you can tell, he’s never been angry at any of the demons you’ve worked with together, even when you were pretty pissed off.
>>
>>39757234

His seriousness has a way of de-escalating issues before they blow up, turning critical problems into easily resolved disagreements. You see why Waldric was so keen on having him help out with the fief.

Ulam’uberatu, meanwhile, doesn’t so much fix problems as problems fix themselves around him. For example, there was a pocket of hellraising satyrs over in Oakland, and Waldric was pretty sure you’d have to crack some skulls to keep order. But when you and Ulam tracked them down, they took one look at the cleric, and invited you over to their house to talk.

There were six of them, all brothers. There were seven, apparently, but you killed one in the raid on Cordeliate’s place a while back. Anyway, Ulam talked and talked, and you don’t know if you heard a single word out of any of the demons, but your Stygian crab buddy knew them each by name. He asked them, in vague and uncertain terms, to behave themselves. The family of Nyphicans hasn’t made so much as a peep since.

Sometimes now, Waldric calls you up and asks you to check in on things or take care of problems, without anybody backing you up. It’s not like he has you running the fief, but he does trust you with sensitive matters. For assignments that need somebody particularly badass, he messes around with his schedule to make sure they’re open for when you, specifically, can get them done.

Also you get paid mad cash as compensation. So, it’s not really a charity honor thing. It’s more like a lucrative character-building exercise.

Borislav is often busy helping Isaac or looking after Muir Woods, but when he’s not, you make sure to get him to help you hunt for landwells. It’s not too easy, considering you have to actually be pretty close before you can pinpoint them. That as it may be, though, you take a day here or there to hike around and forage for more power.

Since mountains seem like a pretty safe bet, you take a lot of hikes.
>>
>>39757252

One particularly nice day, you spend a good chunk of time over at the Mission Peak Regional Reserve, south of Fremont. Weaving around in the back hills along with Vik, Mori, Borya, and Ro, you actually do stumble on a landwell not too far from Mission Peak itself. Of course, you snatch it up.

Hoping for wings, you’re kind of disappointed when you wind up a halo type of deal. It’s not actually a halo exactly though – the circle of light hangs out in front of your forehead, perfectly vertical. Turns out Waldric’s got one, he just keeps it under glamors. It’s a common thing among noble blooded Belphegorans. The halo thing’s called a crown, and it supposedly has something to do with making your brain more resilient to psychic crap, at least when it’s not hidden away.

While you’re not sure exactly what utility you’re supposed to get out of having one, you have decided that it’s cool. You also have it on good authority that the little bit of extra light from the ring brings out the blue in your eyes, so that’s a thing.

Besides manifesting a crown, you can also summon a couple hellhounds (that is, two hellhounds). They’ve got nothing on Reeber, but they do have the added benefit of being completely disposable, where your hellhound is not. While not very intelligent, the summons implicitly acknowledge Reeber’s authority, which you guess makes him leader of the pack. Reeber’s happy for the company, as well as for the responsibility of command.

As for Wolfgang, you really like having him for a boyfriend. He’s really smart, really classy, and he’s got friends everywhere. And he’s also really, really hot. Still, you try not to use him for his body too much, because you don’t want to scare him off. But even if you’re not macking out at every available opportunity, you still do get to make out with him a lot, so that makes you happy.

For dating, you split the tab fifty fifty. He plots half the dates, you plot half.
>>
>>39757264

It’s fun getting out and going to places you usually wouldn’t go, like going to the theater and seeing Phantom of the Opera. But it’s also fun to drag Wolfgang out of his control zone and shoot him with paintball guns from a safe distance, from behind solid cover.

The only thing that really gets in the way of having a cool boyfriend is the fact that your cool boyfriend works a demanding job and has tons of homework. You’d be all for hanging out more often and stuff, but he’s really pressed for time, especially lately with finals and exams and everything. You’ve barely seen him at all for the last couple of weeks, and it sucks.

At least you have friends. Friends who now know a lot about different planes and demons and angels and magic and everything. Vikrama’s even taken up studying some magic herself, borrowing some tomes of Roman spellwork and crap from Rowan. She’s got a long way to go, especially since she doesn’t really have much natural talent at all, but she’s got a dream, so what can you say.

Baron and Vik know Moriah’s in on the whole magic thing, but she still doesn’t want them to know she’s a demon, so that’s the last secret you have to keep. Unlike Wormtail, you take your secret keeping duties very seriously, so nobody will know from you.

Other than that, there’s a whole lot of other stuff you do, just for fun. You’re a lot better at guitar now. Seems like you have a knack for it. Then there were a couple raves, and maybe Baron accidentally got high on something, but he was okay afterward, and you even got to practice blood magic on him to make sure he wasn’t going to die. But that’s the worst thing that’s happened among your campouts, island trips, and numerous gaming nights over at Moriah’s place.

The new development on the gaming front is you convinced Mori to try doing a game for just your immediate friends. She whipped up some cool setting and you did publicity, eventually wrangling Vik, Baron, Ro, and Nathan in on the action.
>>
>>39757286

You’ve only had a couple gaming sessions so far with everybody, but Moriah’s really done a good job in taking the lead – you can tell some of her game master’s outgoingness is bleeding over into non-gaming related hang outs with the others, which is mission accomplished for you. While you’re still best friends obviously, you don’t feel like you need to keep an eye on her as much.

You’ve also invested in a sweet motorcycle, and with a bank account full of dollars, you got to pick pretty much the bike you wanted. Although there were things that perhaps might’ve been cooler, you’re actually kind of a beginner, so you got something pretty mellow, by your standards anyway.

After getting your motorcycle learner’s permit, you got yourself a Suzuki DR 200. Your new bike fits in pretty well with city driving, while still being able to go off road. It’s a pretty nice, lightweight kind of bike, and though you’re not going to be driving up and down cliffs with it, it doesn’t get mad at dirt paths and mild cross country action.

All in all, if you had a time machine, you don’t feel like there’s anything major you would worry about changing. The big picture is one you’re pretty okay with.

[I'll be updating the character sheet for now. After I'm done with that, I'll start doing the 51-100 recap. In the mean time, feel free to ask questions, discuss, and/or attempt to draw stuff from the quest so far. Bonus points for macaroni art.]

Methinks many people are still reading through that glorious wall of text -

How likely is it that we're going to Hel in the next little while? And are we going to run into anyone else (asides Ranthix and his kin) who recognize us as (at least claimant to) the Imperiate?

>>39757387

The Dresden Files is certainly a big influence. In fact, initially I even considered setting Hellborn in the Dresdenverse.

Fortunately or unfortunately, The Dresden Files doesn't consider demons to be people, so that was a really early break from that idea.

>>39757440

I think your chances this next season are much greater.

>>39757464

Wolfy G thinks unglamored Sierra is incredibly unrealistically hot, although he is aware she is likely the future Imperiate, so the hotness makes sense in context.

Sierra has not yet seen Wolfgang without glamors, much to her chagrin.

Ranthix has more guns in every other regard.

Just because you've only seen him fight with an M60 doesn't mean he only has an M60.

In fact, I'm pretty sure we've seen Ranthix with a fuckton of guns in his Hummer/Humvee.

Does the material matter for what it is? Like, obsidian is associated with fire magic in nearly every culture that has it in addition to being just plain sharp as fuck. Those traits would make me think "probably not good for defense spells", but is that actually the case?
>>
>>39758750
>it in addition to being just plain sharp as fuck.
Don't forget brittle as frozen dog shit.

An enchantment that made an obsidian blade that renewed/regenerated lost bits would be sharp as all fuck, and actually useful outside of the first few swings.
>>
>>39758727
Is there any sort of mix of inculcation and blood magic? Would it be like taking our blood and drawing it all over stuff and then something something ritual and the metal-as-fuck blood scribbles burn/stain into the thing and then presto blammo magic item?

Or would it just be straight up better to take a pair of panties or whatever and try really really hard to imbue them with Child of Night-ness until they help defense better?

>>
>>39758782
>An enchantment that made an obsidian blade that renewed/regenerated lost bits
That'd be pretty baller and, if I correctly understand how enchanting works, we can totally do that because we have regen powers ourself. I think our blood drink is way better than our normal regen, though, so maybe the blade would end up never getting dulled by flesh and fixing itself as it cuts up people and stuff, but if it shatters then good luck mate gotta wait a couple days for a new one to grow.

>>
>>39758834
Fuck that, we need a Macuahuitl, so that while individual chunks break off the rest of them stay good, and even if they all break we still have a fuck-off huge wooden club.

Also, pretty sure it would tie in with the Mesoamerican history of blood sacrifice and worship.

We should really get on researching this shit.
>>
>>39758904
> The macuahuitl was an excellent tool for providing sacrificial victims: the design of the macuahuitl allowed the warrior to injure the opponent with the obsidian blades while the blunt top could be used to render an individual unconscious for easy capture and later sacrifice.

We could totally be operating with it.

Uh, what do you think a Macuahuitl is? It's just that instead of being made of of just obsidian, the obsidian can break off and regenerate and we won't have to worry so much about it shattering.

These things were made to chop up horses, so I feel they would be useful against Demons and such too.

And we could also use it to stun people.

>What kind of things did Sierra make when she was learning how to enchanting?

A variety of objects, not normally on fire, that are now perpetually on fire, whether or not you want them to be.

Nope.

>Is it possible to remove an enchantment and if so is it easier to remove the babby enchants?

Yep.

No, you don't want to accidentally ruin them.

There are differing properties for differing materials. You have a good idea with the obsidian.

There's old Hyena face. He still owes you his life, but he's not really that important otherwise. There are others, but you'll learn about them as the game progresses and they are relevant.

Doesn't mean it worked that well for it, the initial cut would be nasty, but it wouldn't be as deep as you could make with an actual sword.

It was a mean weapon, but it worked better as a bludgeon than a cutting weapon, even if it was as sharp as all fucking hell.

The macuahuitl just didn't have long enough sharp bits to be as effective a cutter as it needed to be.

>Doesn't mean it worked that well for it

What? It works AMAZING for cutting, just that it doesn't work well for is armored foes, and it's efficiency drops off quickly as the obsidian breaks meaning it's a high maintenance weapon.

But one solid chop followed by a backstroke essentially created a low-tech chainsword.

Please keep in mind that the Spaniards had multiple accounts of the efficiency of this weapon.

So, with SoS we can get corruption for tearing through armour, and if we can get it to regenerate than we don't have to worry about it's short life-span of the obsidian.

Also, low tech chainsword! How fuckawesome is that, especially since we've established IC that Sierra loves obsidian?

I will admit that I glossed over the regeneration thing because I assumed it was implied due to the post I was responding to originally.
>>
Awww yiss. We got some awesome small unit tactics with our summons going on now. We can use monster & the Shalbaan as a scouting/beating group, flushing out targets and then having Reeber and his hellhounds flank them and come in by surprise.

Meanwhile our giant crab lies in wait or acts as rearguard. Alternatively, we can have it act like a cavalry charge to smash into set opposition.
>>
>>39760855
It couldn't take off a horses' head, is what I am saying, as bone shatters obsidian without too much effort.

Am I saying its a bad weapon? No.

Am I saying it's as good as people play it up to be? No.

Everything should be taken with a grain of salt, I don't trust spanish accounts of the efficacy of ancient weapons when they are the only source of info on the matter, that begs for the info to be glorified in some way.

It's like when people talk about something that impresses them, those rose tinted goggles, or when people talk about things that scare them, those foggy black glasses.

If I had some modern proper tests I'd be more inclined to change my mind, ya know?

And yeah, I thought you meant without it even though I should have assumed you meant to have regen included, I forced myself out of the habit of assuming, though.
>>
>>39760855
I'd rather get a second rapier. Maybe made of obsidian.

Rapiers work well for our weapons. Save the raw strength and rip and tear for when she brings the claws out.

Also would be a bitch to master a totally new and unique type of weapon than our rapier.

Getting them all out costs a shit ton of PP though
>>
>>39760933
It has multiple accounts of it taking off horses heads, it what I'm saying. So we aren't going off just one battle, or one account.

Not multiple times, though, because as mentioned it does shatter the obsidian.

As well, modern tests showed that it was capable of taking off a horses head, however it took up to three blows unless a stroking backwards motion was used to saw away the remaining flesh. The issue is that they were the "Warrior" style shows so the quality of the test is suspect. Inaccurate replica of the original, etc. Still, good enough for me to think that it would be reasonable for a trained warrior with a properly made weapon to wreck some shit.

Ultimately, though, I just think it would be a neat weapon since Sierra has the whole blood/infernus thing going on, and a liking for obsidian.

The main issue with them was, like I said, that they were high maintenance weapons that weren't good for extended battles, and didn't deal well with plate armour.
>>
>>39760984
Well, yeah. I'm not saying it would be worth it in every situation. But if we're fighting a bunch of people than it would probably be worth it to break them up and isolate them so that they can be kept off of Sierras back while we drop in and drain them of power before killing them.
>>
>>39760984

No, you keep the Slogbuh in reserve along with the hellhounds, presuming them in advance. Then you only have to drop power on summoning Monster and Tiger. That only costs like 20 PP, at least in the fight. You have enough power you can afford to drop some, and you can drain more from people's blood and through magic siphoning abilities.
>>
>>39761039
>It has multiple accounts of it taking off horses heads, it what I'm saying. So we aren't going off just one battle, or one account.

Multiple accounts, from hundreds of years ago, from the same sources. That's what I'm saying.

Also, do you know how hard it is to cut off a horses' head? Damn nigga, even some swole ass motherfuckers cant do that.

And striking twice to behead a horse means it's not as effective as one might say, especially since it isn't taking off its head so much as tearing away all the flesh and the head just falling off, no spine severing.

SO!

What we need, is a macuahuitl that has a bigass steel spike on the nose, and obsidian on the sides, all regen of course, maybe a solid steel core instead of a wooden one.

Need to get that infernus swole to use it right, though.

Hey Lawn man, I was looking over the stats and saw a few things I was wondering about. Just the Health and Power.

Right now it's at
Max Hit Points: 34 (10 base, 9 from levels, 10 from skills, 5 from Thultal endurance training)
Max Power Points: 41 (10 base, 9 from levels, 22 from landwells)

And the last update for health and power was a few threads ago at
>>39485062
Stress: 72/103;
HP: 17/29;
PP: 11/37

I'm assuming it is suppose to be +10 from levels since we are at level 10, and the numbers should actually be 35 and 42. The landwell we got for free gives 5 power, but the math adds up right for 42 power, so either we have been running around with 1 extra power or 1 should be added to the math.
41-5=36 =/= 37

Also, Crowther is above Gandalf? Really man? And we are already at boy who lived level of magic?

>>
>>39761121

Haha, I like the way you compromise. I'm thinking that it might actually be better to get some sort of flexing core, aluminum or something.

I'm concerned that having it be a bar mace would impede the cutting ability, which is a function of the weight. If we're going that route, we might as well have it shortened and given an extended handle so we can flail it about quickly, or use it as a two-handed spike for armored opponents.
>>
>>39761202

I wasn't really too clear, let my stress worn brain give it another go.

We used to be at 37 Power. We got a landwell that gives a +5. Now we are at 41 power. 37+5 is 42, so we are missing a PP. And the level thing said +9 for levels, so that might imply another +1, leaving us at 43.

> Rapier

A) We already have one.

B) Only good for dueling opponents who are 1 on 1 with no armour.

I like the idea of a short obsidian bar mace, with a point for smashing through armour. Metal, so that we can light it on fire. We could probably even meet some cool smiths Ranthix knows while making it. We'd still have Zelathis for unarmoured foes.

As a matter of fact, it would be even better if we could have the obsidian come out if we needed it, or draw in if we had to ring someone's helmet like a bell.

Maces > Swords. Breaking bones and rupturing organs FTW.

I'm pretty sure that any organization that has to deal with magic quickly learns ways to suppress it.

In the famous words of Terry Pratchett, magical armour fell out of style due to it's habit of failing at the precise wrong moment. Many a would be conquerer or evil emperor died going "You can't kill me, I've got magic aaaargh"

I assume the same works for weapons.

Did this seriously get nerfed by us learning blood magic? It was a ranged attack when we got it but now it's touch based unless we cut ourself first.

It's more that it's an incredibly generic spell that doesn't fail catastrophically and has several different tier levels, so learning how to do it as you learn magic is a given.

There are reasons to want to illuminate something without the chance of setting anything on fire, even with being able to see perfectly in the dark. Like if we want to see color, or light things up for other people.

>>39761816

I was always on the edge about whether Blood Curse should be ranged or not. Setting wise, I felt it would be touch, but mechanic wise, I felt it should be ranged, otherwise it didn't do its job. Since we've only used it once so far, I didn't feel guilty about changing it a little.

With preparation, the increased range I gave it makes it a more useful tool in more situations. You might actually curse somebody before getting into a fight with them.
>>

>>
>>39761897
Yes it is. It might not occur to Moriah, because she isn't the one who goes around seeing in the dark. Whether it's Sierra being retarded by not thinking of the fact that she could practice with something more useful to her, or if it's Sierra being retarded by not speaking up and reminding Moriah about it makes no difference.

Moriah isn't specifically teaching you light stuff. She taught you how to harness your will to make magic happen. Sierra's the one who turned that around into illuminating spheres of greater illumination.

I fixed the character sheet. It's an innate ability, and the carving is just for range, so it's not much.

Inscribed spells last about a day, given Sierra's rapid healing.

The biggest problem with the current design isn't even the bigness, it's how damn high up it is. The bottom edge is at the same height level as the tippy top of her skull. The bigness just compounds the issue since it makes it look like some kind of pope hat / otorhinolaryngologist mirror hybrid.

So is anything else on the way tonight?
>>
>>39762737
Well, I guess if it bothers anons enough then they can draw their own or commission some artsy fartsy fantasy for their head canon.
>>
>>39762756

Thread's on autosage. I'm thinking about making a bigger, fancier version of the character portrait, but I don't know if that will be done tonight.

>The usual
so fire, demons and death? Got it

Have we heard anything else about or from Freddy? Did his plan work?
>>
>>39762778
Can you explain the whole "Supercharge" thing next to the Mission Peak Landwell?
>>
>>39762778
Post it on twitter if you finish it after the thread dies? I love the charports.

>Sierra is fine making out, given a list of highly specific criteria are met. She can barely hug her adopted sister, and hand holding is still a new thing she's okay with, but again, only given all the requirements are met.
Has she talked to Wolfy about this? Like, when it's ok to hold hands, hug or kiss without TRIGGERING her?
>>
>>39762712
Your FACE is dumb!
>>
>>39762798
>>39762778
Is Sierra getting better at physical contact by being with Wolfgang or just in general? Pushing through those boundaries?
>>
>>39762779

You haven't heard much from him, but he's given you the proverbial thumbs up from Ferra. He's not dead and they're still fighting.

>>39762794

It's kind of like red rush, where you increase spell potency, but as a one time deal. Think of it like supercharging an attack with hellfire, but instead, you're supercharging a spell with land magic.

>>39762798

Not in so many words, but he's a smart guy, and he's probably talked to Moriah and Rowan.

>>39762799

HEY! How would you feel if YOUR face was HIS face? Huh? Pretty bad, right? And I bet you wouldn't feel good if a big bully came along and told you what you already knew.

>>39762823

She's certainly getting better at grabbing people. There's still big issues, but she's a lot better now than she was at the beginning of the quest.

>And I bet you wouldn't feel good if a big bully came along and told you what you already knew.

Oh god you're right. What have I become!?

Tell that to any verwelken who isn't Sierra. Light ball is one of the most feared spells in existence.

We must take this further! To the limit! Then we hug everyone all the time.

So there hasn't been any missteps on his part that caused Sierra undue distress?

Those minorities(comparative to the world) that rately come out of their kingdon in a different plane?
Yeah, I expect to encounter them REAL soon, anon.
>>
>>39762865

Of course not, they're ordered by power provided, and in the case of a tie, geographic proximity.

>>39762881

There have. Which is what prompted him to use his smart guy powers and talk to Moriah and Rowan.

I'm just saying, if people see us use our Verwelken powers than they have to die.

>>
>>39762915
Why?
>>
>>39762900
Can we use Supercharge on our Summons?
>>
>>39762900
So, when does Season 2 start? The 6th? So It perfectly lines up with the start of Hellborn quest and thus pleasing me?
>>
>>39762932
>>39762941

We shouldn't be using them unless people are going to be unable to tell other people. That way we a) don't bring down Verwelken assassins, and b) have an ace in the hole since they're supposed to be incompatible with Infernus, which we very obviously have/are especially once we reveal ourselves as the daughter of the Imperiate, and c) we don't lose support as people think we're a walking time-bomb of powers going out of control.

So, unless we really trust people, or they aren't going to live long enough to tell anyone, then we should really be careful about that.

I have to go to sleep. Let's kick this thing back off on Friday, around 5:00 PM MST.

In other words, no.
