It is the 41st Millenium. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only guardsmen. The Emperor of Mankind wages a constant battle to protect guardsmen from the horrors of space. On the fringes of the Imperium, alien guardsmen lurk and plot, and chaos guardsmen leak into our reality from the torment of the warp. All that stands in their way are the mighty guardsmen. They are more than mortal. They are steel, and they are doom. They are the guardsman of mankind. And the greatest of them all... are the guardsmen.

I don't think you understand, man.

That many guardsmen couldn't exist in a solar system, even if you filled every available space with them.

Take chemistry terms. A single atom of hydrogen weighs roughly 1.68 *10^-24 grams. A mole of those atoms, or 6.022 * 10^23 of them, weights 1.01 grams.

As many hydrogen atoms as there are guardsmen would result in a mass of 8.27 * 10^67, or a fucking number bigger than I can remember on the metric scale, if it even fucking bothers.

For reference, the weight of our entire solar system is roughly 2.0 * 10^34 grams. Which means this hydrogen could form 4.12 * 10^33 of our solar systems, and still have some hydrogen left over to fuck itself or whatever. And again, for reference, our galaxy only has about 200 billion stars in the galaxy, and I get to say only in this situation because that number subtracted from our theoretical solar systems doesn't even change the exponent. Shit, if I added together all the average stars in all the galaxies we've guessed and subtracted it that might change that exponent, but not by much.

And this is an atom that's so fucking small you can't even really understand it's size. Preforming the same math on an average human would produce results that would be the end of our entire universe as we know it. Science would have problems simply attempting to figure out what would happen in that situation.

I also make no assurances that any of my math is correct, I've got too many finals that I've been studying for to ensure random ass math here is solid.
>>
>>39764100
Glaring over the number of atoms and whatnot.

If each of these Guardsmen needed one square foot to stand on they would cover the earths surface about 9 x 10^91 times. If we covered the earth's surface and then stacked them on top of each other the pile would be 1,9 x 10^76 LIGHTYEARS high (assuming each solider is 2 m tall)

Their mass (assumed mass with equipment 100kg) would be 8,2 x 10^68 times that of our planet.

The numbers are so enourmous that they are meaningless.
>>
>>39764142
proper guardblobs are (essentially) fearless
>>
>>39764187
And to put the distance in some perspective the first ever light has covered about 1,3 x 10^9 lightyears

How is everyone ignoring
1) Desu bearers
2) 69 in post
3) Schindlegheist which appears in the same context as "Planet Killer"
Emperors mercy anons, this is the post of posts
>>
So. we have 4.92x10^91. guardsmen. assuming they weigh around 12 stone (an average wieght for a 6ft man, and have around 5 stone of gear, we get 17 stone per guardsmen or 8.364x10^92 Stone of guards men. Or 5.311x10^93.

So

the sun weighs around 1.9x10^30kg. this means the guard force weighs the same as aproximatly 2.79x10^63 Suns. The smallest black hole is around 10 times our suns mass.
the largest currently known is about 1.7x10^11 solar masses. meaning our loyal force would create a black hole 16441176470000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times larger that the biggest current black whole. As this outwieghs the black whole in the center of the galaxy by an order of 6.987x10^56, it would probably not consume the galaxy in short order, but probably the warp as well
>>
>>39764231
that is to say 5.311x10^93 Kg
>>
>>39764186
Fuck it, since I feel like figuring it out.

The best number I can find off hand for the number of galaxies is "a couple hundred billion" because astronomers are fucking faggots holy shit, so let's say 300 billion, because once again, fuck astronomers and their fucking negative heat capacities and shit.

So, 300 billion galaxies, with 200 billion stars each. Or 6 *10^24.

And guess what happens if I subtract that from our hydrogen?

The exponent doesn't even fucking change. There is so much hygrogen there that you could form every galaxy even possibly theorized to exist and still not even begin to dent the size of the number.

It's a fucking big number, man. The number is so large it might as well not even exist, because we will never, ever have a use for it.

They use fists. That many fists would break bones. Or they use bolters. Or Meltas.
>>39765328
40K^11.
>>
>>39765328
Well, I just had a look, and it looks like a platoon is made up of a rough median of 73 men.

So, knowing that (and that a rough median of it would be about 360 points) we have 673,779,181,774,884,589,041,095,890,410,958,904,109,589,041,095,890,410,958,904,109,589,041,095,890,410,958,904,109,589 platoons.

But what about the points? well, it comes out to be 242,560,505,438,958,452,054,794,520,547,945,205,479,452,054,794,520,547,945,205,479,452,054,794,520,547,945,205,479,452,040 points.

To put that into perspective, an Imperator Class Titan, like the Dies Irae is about 2500 points, last I looked (which has been a while). So, if we know that, then we could have 97,024,202,175,583,380,821,917,808,219,178,082,191,780,821,917,808,219,178,082,191,780,821,917,808,219,178,082,191,780 Imperator class titans running around on a planet. You could level the entire eye of terror from the sheer amount of firepower you'd be throwing around.

TL:DR - if we have that many points, then it would take a single month to just get through one turn. The amount of dice alone would fill almost any hobby shop.

That is more guardsmen than there are atoms in the universe.

They immediately cause the Big Crunch by hyperaccelerating the gravitational pull of the centre of their mass such that it instantly cancels galactic drift. As this happens, tidal forces rip apart basically everything larger than a softball in the universe and simultaneously cause an arbitrary large number of planetary annihilation events. Then things begin to move towards the Guardsman Singularity, and EVERYTHING smashes together at a significant enough fraction of c that the result would be to a hypernova what a nuclear bomb is to a... Actually, I don't think a metaphor exists to describe exactly how spectacular the blast would be. Like, written language doesn't have words for something that all-consumingly destructive. The human brain isn't really equipped to cope with it.

This then forms a supermassive black hole, which presumably goes on to eventually randomly explode in Big Bang 2.0.

Alternatively, god attempts to hit ctrl-z repeatedly while his computer freezes up, and then when it bounces back he finds that he has accidentally gone right back to the blank canvas and must start again. He gives up, and the universe is retroactively destroyed.

how does that work out on the table top? I'm thinking of getting a guardsmen army as my first one for 40k.

Chapter Master. A /tg/-inspired game about running a space marine chapter. When you look at planets, it displays stats like how many PDF are present, how many imperial guard are there, how many orks/tyranids/chaos there are, how corrupt a planet is, and so on.

I would link you to the chapter master general, but it seems to be absent at the moment.

To get through a single turn with that many Imperator-class Titans, you would need to move one Titan every 2.76*10^-83 seconds.

So, I have a question. Can you move on the order of 10^83 Titans each second?

For further perspective, atomic bonds vibrate on the scale of femtoseconds; it's why molecular dynamics simulations usually use femtosecond time steps.

For each femtosecond of that month, you would need to move 10^68 Titans. Assuming 100g per model, and doing some rounding with the gravitational constant and other things I can't be arsed to keep track of, the black hole formed by just that femtosecond's Titans would be ~10^33 km radius, equal to ~10^7 observable universes.

The math would take too long to grind out, but I strongly suspect that the energy created by pushing that many Titan models through atmospheric resistance would itself comprise enough mass to form a stable-ish black hole.

>it would take a single month to just get through one turn. The amount of dice alone would fill almost any hobby shop.

I believe you are severely underestimating the magnitude of these numbers. Assuming moving one Titan takes a second, the amount of time required to complete a full turn is 3.07 x 10^81 years. In fact, even if we assumed moving a single titan took the shortest useful measure of time conceived, the Planck Time, a turn would still take 5.25 x 10^30 years. During that period we could relive the current age of our universe roughly three hundred eighty quintillion times. By the time the turn had ended, the protons and neutrons that constitute atomic particles will have begun to decay into their constituent parts, all the stars will have died with much of their mass bled off in the form of leptonic/photonic gas that now primarily composes existence, and the only appreciable sources of thermal radiation in the Universe will be axial hawking radiation from black holes.

Not only will our lives be all extinguished, but the particles necessary for the formation of life as we know it will no longer exist. For all human purposes, the the Universe will have ended.

2.5*10^56 valiant Imperial Guardsmen fell defending Magdelene III.

Assuming the Imperium has a million worlds of 10 billion people each, we should mourn the loss of 10^40 times more Guardsmen than the Imperium has people. I'm given to suspect that might empower Khorne just a little bit.

Out of the guardsmen.
>>
>>39775298
>>39775328
But I want to know, what lead to that many guardsmen?
>>
>>39775298
Assuming 10^83 dice 16mm to the side, it would require a spherical hobby shop some 4.6*10^25m in radius, equal to 4.9 billion light years. This would be a substantial fraction of the observable universe, and if constructed out of half-inch-thick plywood, would mass about 1.72*10^52 kg empty. This is a mere 124 million times more massive than the largest known black hole, and its theoretical event horizon would be ~2.5*10^25m (a bit more than half the radius of the hobby shop). Surface gravity would be a negligible 5.4*10^-10 m/s^2.

I am not sure whether an event horizon would form inside it, but I am pretty sure it would not collapse into a black hole, as the structural integrity of half-inch plywood is more than enough to account for less than a billionth of Earth gravity.

Guys, I have an idea. We need drawfags and writefags. Someone show Dan Abnett the picture of those guardsmen, and tell him to make three quarters of all of guardsmen/women the main characters, and nine fifths of them love interests, and seven sixteenths rivals. I'll start with that one little Ork.
