Running time:
>10:30 AM - 4:30 PM EST, 9:45 PM - 1:30 AM (break for work inbetween)

Quest Synopsis:
>A Kamen Rider quest taking place in the world of Gaim, following Makoto Kinushima of Team Raid Wild. Has key differences between this quest and original Gaim, namely the inclusion of a few particular original characters, varieties of Lockseeds, and the presence of Beast Spirits - one of which was granted to Makoto, named the Dragon Jormungandr, and another, RA, granted to Ryoji.
>As such, the plot has varied from the original enough so that it can be considered its own timeline.

On the last episode, you resolve to gather up the Armored Riders that made it into the Helheim and leave, for regrouping. The Forest held way too many secrets, and time was necessary for working through what they know.

However, while Erina went to go rescue the hapless Shibata Ryu goons that had followed them into the Crack, Makoto - along with Kaito and Oren, still duking it out when Makoto ran into them - started looking for the rest - and instead, came across what could only be described as a Monster, instead of an Inves.

We return to the fight, against the Blue Inves, with the assertion by Jormungandr that what firepower we have, will not be enough.

>Choice in next post.

You let your Star Shuriken fly, aimed directly at the eyes of the massive beast. Surprisingly (probably due to the distraction gained from its tail still being bashed into the ground) they fly true, slashing and gouging the visible face of the Inves. It roars, loud enough to override any automatic resistance given by the technology in your suit, and the sheer power of the roar forces you to screw your eyes shut, and clap hands over your ears. Not as effective as it could have been, given the helmet and everything.

It doesn't look, however, like the shuriken did much to dissuade the Inves from messing with you. Almost immediately, it turns to face you.

"Holy shit," Kouta curses, "what the hell is this thing's deal?"

"Dude, I've got no idea," you admit.

It manages to dislodge its tail from the floor beneath it, though, and prepares to swing at your group with it...!

>15 to 14, the Inves wins.

You see the swing coming, and for the most part, a simple leap is all that is necessary to dodge the brunt of the attack.

A lashing flick of the tail at the end, though, throws you off guard. The macelike tip hammers into you with incredible force, sending you tumbling head over heels. Oren moves to catch you, but you keep rolling out of the way, trying to bleed off the kinetic energy sent into the hit.

This inves hits like a goddamn truck with a wrecking ball attached, that's for sure.

Trying is one thing. Succeeding is another.
Also I named my team HuntRanger, it's surprisingly effective. Wish there was more depth, though. Needs a sixth ranger, upgradeable mechs, etc.

>>39788276
>2 - Yeah, no. He didn't pass.

You waste no time switching to your Apple Arms - >AXE OF FIGHTER< - and look towards Kaito.

"Banana-boy, switch to spear. Let's see if we can't flip this turtle over and get to its stomach!"

Kaito nods silently, switching out from Mango to Banana - >KNIGHT OF SPEAR< - and starts rushing towards the Inves.

Meanwhile, Oren's still experimenting with the ring blades that the Kiwi Arms has granted him. The whole look at least kinda fits, it's a nice green melange of armor and such. But the blades? Even he's struggling.

A couple lobs of the blades at the monster, and even though they gather celadon energy in the air travel time, they plink off harmlessly. Didn't even seem to get the effect of distraction that was intended.

>>
>>39788663
Let's have all three of them focus attention on the monster's legs. That will help Makoto and Kaito tip it over. Kouta should switch to Orange, and Micchy should go Grape.
>>
On an unrelated note, Kiwi looks pretty decent on Oren.
>>
>>39788663
Strawberry's knives are explosive, Kouta can use those to target the Inves's feet and keep it off balance. Jonouchi should hammer at the feet as well, give it some pain. And Micchy should continue targeting weak points in the armor from out of reach using his dao.

We should, uh, probably do something with that glowing blue bit, but I'm sure that it'll be detrimental if we pop it. Might need to get hammer-boy to smash it inward.

The horn in the front may be useful if a Rider can get on top of the thing. Someone keep it distracted, someone else hold the tail to keep it grounded, and a third person run right up the spine and mount the bastard.

"...Well fuck."

You peek over the Kaiju Inves' body at Kouta...
And much to your dismay, the Orange Armor upon Kouta's seemed to go... a sickly shade of really light green-blue. The same color as mold. The saber remained broken, sadly, but he's clutching his chest, as if he's been hit.

>Kouta's Orange Lockseed has been damaged beyond repair!

Painfully, he goes back to equipping Strawberry, and once he does so he looks a lot better.

Micchy has no trouble shifting into Budou, but seeing Kouta in dangerthrows off his aim a bit. Most of the bullets deflect as they did when you first came across the Gaim riders - zooming off into the sky, or into and between trees in the actual forest itself.

Jonouchi still hasn't figured out how to do the special attacks, though, and instead is continuing to hammer onto the joint at the knee. All this is doing is serving to make the kaiju angrier, though...

The Kaiju Inves starts puffing the glowing blue... thing in its chest, though. Pointing its snout to the heavens, its throat bulges.

>It skips its turn, preparing to launch something.

"Kaito, Patissier! All at once, hit the blue point!"
"Got it!"
"Yes!"

With a mighty thrust, Kaito sends a massive energy projection (shaped like a banana, of course) at the Inves' throat. Oren momentarily retrieves his ringblades, and spins himself into a dizzyingly fast whirlwind of steel and death. You take a mighty Hulk leap, holding on for dear life onto the axe's tail and preparing for a massive imp--

The Inves turns its snout and mouth towards you--

-- you can see the emanations and the sublimation of material, blue-green, disgusting--

--with a movement of its throat, it torrents the material directly at you and Oren. It hits you like a tsunami, blowing you back and canceling all the accumulated energy you used in the leap.

You go flying back once more with a pained yell, hitting an outcropping of low rocks unceremoniously, covered in the material. It's hot and sticky and awful and it burns and it BURNS, it starts melting through the rock next to you and the armor of the Rider--

-- the Driver comes flying off in the impact, scattering to a couple yards away--

--you see stars, a battlefield of blue-green fire and flames once more--

-- the bodies of your friends, ruined and stripped to meat and bones by the material--

Taking the best of each column,

>Kouta got an 18 twice over
>Micchy got a 12
>Jonouchi also got an 18

Through your haze and stars, you get quick glimpses of the other three Riders jumping into action.

Without even missing a beat, Kouta orders in a voice sounding more underwater than anything else, for Micchy and Jonouchi to attack the joints. He clambers onto the closest arm to him, and starts crawling up the side. The Inves turns and swipes his other free hand, but he dodges and moves around the claws with ease.

Micchy and Jonouchi, on the other hand, start hammering into the Inves' knee joints. Micchy draws his gun, pulls the plunger back, and unloads as many shots as he can pull the trigger on. Jonouchi's hard to see across the body of the Inves, but you do hear a
>DONGURI SQUASH<
and a satisfyingly wet sound of metal upon flesh--

-- before the Inves locks its beady yellow eyes upon you.

You hear another voice... this one, deep. Real deep, a baritone that resembles, if not rivals, James Earl Jones. No reverberation, but it's a very similar feeling to the same kind of rudimentary communication that you used a couple weeks ago--

<<DRAGON-SOUL I WILL FEAST UPON YOUR BONES AND FLESH>>

And even with Jonouchi and Micchy clinging to the Inves' calves, it turns and stomps over to you, looming over your supine body.

Your first instinct is to scream and hide, curling up. The Inves' maw is large, easily enough room to keep you in - but sharp, thick and powerful enough to rip your body apart in moments. And indeed, you try to back away from the ever closer jaws of it, pushing yourself against the slowly-dissolving rock around you.

But a swell of a small, orange flame grows in the pit of your heart.

Something spurs you from fear.

It might be a titanic Inves, it might have intelligence to join it.

But you're Makoto goddamn Kinushima. You've defeated monsters bigger than this, and even people. You're a descendant of Takeru Kinushima and Erina Kinushima, of countless generations of fighters, defenders, and warriors.

You have no option here.

And you have no other desires other than to give this beast its due destruction.

"And I will tear you apart, Beast,' you hiss through gritted bared teeth. "I will cut you to pieces, stab your heart and bathe in your blood. You'll perish before you even get a chance to dream about choking on my bones."

The feral ferocity seeps into your voice, the rasp of a woman who's seen far too much at such a young age. Your eyes burn with fury and passion, and you manage to get to your feet - albeit painfully.

And then you see it.

On one of the trees, there is a Helheim Fruit. Shining red, gold, black silver. Standing out from all of its companions on the vine... and a pulse.

<< I'VE DONE WHAT I CAN, KINUSHIMA >> The dragon finally admits. << ALL IT NEEDS IS YOUR BLOOD TO UNLEASH ITS POTENTIAL. TAKE THE FRUIT, MAKOTO. ELSE YOU, AND YOUR FRIENDS, WILL DIE BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE GOOD ON YOUR PROMISE >>

OOC TIME IS GO
I will be gone from now until 9:30 PM approximately.

Discuss anything quest-related you'd like, including designs for weapons, other Riders, plotlines ,what have you. I saw that prompt about Naruya's collection of Riders, stuff like that is awesome.
>>
>>39792430
Well then.
This is going to be good.

What's your soundtrack of choice for the transformation sequence, guys?
For some reason I want to play something from Digimon, even though most of them are hilariously inappropriate for Our circumstances.
>>
>>39792537
For some reason I've been on a Showa Rider kick with this quest when it comes to theme music. So I'm going to go with something from Black RX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3l9MNmg0kQ

Also, does this mean we're going to skip Jimba Arms? We've gone straight past Energy Lockseeds to a custom normal Lockseed crafted by a denizen of the forest. That's more a Kachidoki equivalent. And while that's cool, I was kind of hoping for Makoto and Erina to wield Sonic Arrows in a fight alongside each other at some point. That would just be fun. Double Lime Squash would be a neat finisher.
>>
>>39792624
Showa Rider's more of Erina's thing. I picture something like Believe Yourself:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANEt7s6bu6Q
>>
I was thinking something fitting a "Destroyer". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64pnloufCmQ but >>39792672 is also a pretty great choice.

>>39792624
No one says we can't end up with one. It's not like we'd need super slaughter against regular Inves.
>>
>>39792826
I dunno about transformation themes, but Jam Project has a few good ones, like Rising Force
>https://youtu.be/5jL4uRkJdK8
Which would be a great battle theme for Hot Blooded battles.
then there's Hi no Tori, which certainly should be one of Hase's themes.

And finally, ReBirth of Dream os one of those songs that are perfect to pump you up, regardless if it's a battle or an Opening theme.

>>
Anyone else concerned that this upgrade will be a Faiz/Blade King mode death by degrees?
>>
>>39795421
I'm thinking it's more likely to be a Type Dead Heat thing where it's harmful to us at first but we eventually master it and can use it safely.
>>
>>39795755
I hope it's like that.

Then again, I'm a big fan of the Naked Jehuty theory of battle, where pure strength comes from being battle damaged almost beyond repair. If we want to use the ultimate power, we better be ready to burn out.
>>
>>39796058
bumping for life
>>
>>39796058
Wait a minute. Naked Jehuty is that powerful because he repaired itself with the Metatron that came out when he wrecked Anubis shit with nothing but a sword and a glorified dash.
The ABSOLUTE POWER is because it repaired itself with parts of its sister unit, thus becoming complete.

Therefore, to go Full Jehuty, Makoto would need to almost die when fighting the fully powered Dragon Inves from the Dragonfruit Lockseed and then eat it's flesh, Drink/Bathe in it's Blood Or something equally weird/Symbolic.

Which, when you think about it, is fairly similar to our current situation.
>>
>>39796991
Jehuty nearly died in Aumann. Also, the whole thing with the Naked Jehuty thing happened because of Zero Shift and the resonance thing with Anubis.

So all we have to do is find an Inves that's equal in every single way to Makoto or her mom.

Every way.
>>
>>39797099
Nah, man. I just watched a video of the fight to confirm. The transformation into Naked Jehuty only happened after he absorbed the Blueish white particles Anubis left behind when he ran like a bitch. Considering that Jehuty/Anubis tier Orbital Frames are made mostly out of Metatron, we can guess what Jehuty absorbed.
So either way, Absorbing part of your equal's essence is essential to gaining ultimate cosmic power.
>>
>>39797099
Well, each of the main characters in canon had a corresponding Overlord. Rosyuo for Takatora, Demushu for Kaito, Redyue for Micchy and Lapis for Kouta. So I wouldn't be surprised if there's a magenta-colored one to match Makoto.
>>
>>39797216
But there might not even be Overlords here.
I still like the Dragon Inves idea mostly because it comes from Makoto's first Lockseed, it was the first Inves she defeated and it actually grew stronger to match her, as seen when we last fought.

The Laws of Narrative and Symbolism almost demand she fight it again as the climax of a period of soul searching and Individuation.
>>
>>39797402
>>39797213
Fair point. Just watched it and I see what you mean, now.

That brings up another question, now, though... what is the core of the Lockseed? Can it be absorbed?

>>39797402
Oooh, I like that idea. We'll have to see where it goes.
>>
>>39797646
The core of the Lockseed is probably a concentrated mass of Helheim spores. So yeah, we should be able to absorb it. Whether that's a smart idea or not is less clear.
>>
>>39797402
Also, honestly, I know that Sagara's been trying to avoid clinging to KLK/MGR music and the like, but I think this would be a great debut for Dragonslayer Arms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_oyxqId7ps
>>
>>39797755
Er, forgot half my post.

I like the idea of Dragon/Dragoon/Dragonslayer that she's been adopting over the course of the game. She's becoming a monster, but that mastery of the monster allows her to fight others that are on the same terms as her.
>>
>>39797646
>That brings up another question, now, though... what is the core of the Lockseed? Can it be absorbed?
Hell, I'll give you a better question.
Wht exactly IS a Lockseed? It comes from the Helheim fruit so on some level it must be biological, but it looks and acts like an artificial construct.
Sure, from an Out-of-Story perspective ( I believe the appropriate term is Doylist perspective) it's because it's impossible to make toys and props that actually look like they came out of a plant, but in-story it raises questions about what exactly their nature is.

So, are they artificial, biological or something in between?
More importantly, are they alive?
Can a Lockseed die?
And, yes, what is their Core, what powees them?

Shit, now I'm curious. Maybe we can have an interlude where Ryouma/Warren Statesman explains the theory behind the Lockseeds.
>>
>>39797749
I don't personally know what the canon variations of Lockseeds were made out of, other than being transformed versions of Helheim Fruit. But with all this talk of Zone of the Enders which I still need to play and yes I know this makes me a scrublord to top all weeaboo scrublords I could definitely see it being made of Helheim spores.

Could certainly explain why those that got slashed by the Inves during the later portions of the series started to grow Helheim vinage in their wounds.

Anyways, I'm back, so we can get started soon. Sadly I don't have art of Dragonslayer Arms if you want Drawfriends to go take it on, you are highly encouraged to do so but hopefully it'll pay due homage.

Writing (as always, feel free to OOC chat in the meantime, I really don't mind. It helps keep the thread active and popping.)
>>
>>39797915
My assumption has always been that they're basically reprogrammed Helheim spores. The plants of the forest tend to act more like nanotech than any normal biological entity, with how they rapidly assimilate and reshape matter. So the Drivers send out a signal to the fruits, somehow, that reconfigures the spores in them from "turn things that eat this into monsters" to "make useful tools on command". Part of that involves repackaging the spores from a piece of fruit into a more durable structure that won't leak. And it explains why the Arms Fruits are summoned in through the Cracks. The local environment doesn't have enough spore-nanites to make the conversion, so more have to be called in. That's why when the transformation is done inside the forest you see dust flowing together from the environment to make the Arms Fruit, that's the spores gathering together.

Oh, one last thing--

It's AWESOME that y'all are collecting music. I love hearing what y'all think would be good - honestly wouldn't mind a collection of themes for each character, honestly. It's an honor to see that y'all are this invested in the story so far, truly.

Okay, actually writing now.
>>
>>39792430

You act without thinking. Your body burns with a surge of adrenaline, and your shoes scrabble against the granite.

Clambering over the rocks, you snatch your Driver and -- wait, where'd the faceplate go?

And what's th--... oh there it is. You hurriedly slam the faceplate back onto the driver, and jam it against your waist. Thankfully, nothing's been cracked or busted in the construction - it smoothly extends its belt around your hips and locks into place.

You grab a hold of the glowing Helheim Fruit... but instead of transforming into a Lockseed, it only burns hotly in your hands. It's almost painful to look at, what with the lights coming off of it and everything -- as if you were looking directly into an extremely hot flame.

<< IT REQUIRES A SACRIFICE >> Jormungandr states, glumly. << THE PRODUCTS OF THE FOREST ARE FICKLE AND SELFISH AT TIMES. A SACRIFICE OF SOMETHING DEAR TO YOU... >>

Place the Suika Lockseed in. It's the most powerful Lockseed we have, but we never actually use it, and it was won as the prize of a battle with another Kaiju Inves (Leatherback, if I recall correctly), so it's got some suitable symbolism.

You reach into your bag, and pull out the one Lockseed you've never used.

The Suika - Watermelon.

Never even opened the shackle before, never peeked inside to look and see what it does.

But the Apple's for POWUH, the Starfruit's for FAST, and the Dragonfruit is for everything else.

This, at least, feels like a worthy sacrifice.

To seal the deal, you touch one of the open cuts on your arms, wincing at the surge of pain through your local nerves. Hot, heavy scents of iron and protein. Intoxicating for the split seconds that you've got. You coat the outside of the Lockseed in this blood of yours... and touch it to the object.

>You have lost 1x "Suika/Watermelon Lockseed!"

The shining Helheim Fruit accepts the Lockseed, molding itself, becoming formless - then formed once more. A Lockseed the size of your palm, this time, with the same outside look as your original Dragonfruit... but this time, two vertical bars on the outside it. It also looks... less fruit-like, and more resembling the scalemail that you've seen in fantasy genres.

The Inves is right behind you, though. You can feel its hot breath on your heels, and you spin to face it. Its beady eyes meet yours, vibrance and a strange sense of glee in its expression.

<< WHATEVER TOY YOU EARNED, DRAGONSOUL, WILL NOT PREVENT THE INEVITABLE >> it reverberates through your head. << PREPARE TO MEET YOUR DOOM >>

"Listen, pal. If there's two things I know I'm good at, it's shutting down those who are full of themselves, and killing giant monsters. You fit both of those quite nicely."

<< KINUSHIMA, NOW'S THE TIME. DO IT! >>

You stare the Inves straight in the eyes as you raise the new Lockseed to your eye-level, as if to show it off to the beast.

"Hen...."

>DRAGON SLAYAAAAAAH!<
goes the Lockseed, as you hit the shackle. You see a gathering, a little disco-ball of red, gold, black and silver above your head.

It's hot. It's almost unbearably hot, like you're standing next to a griddle at a restaurant. Or maybe ten of them. Or a hundred.

Jesus fuck, it's hot. What kind of armor does that?

But right now, the Inves is recoiling at the sight of it, almost throwing Kouta off of its horns.

<< WHAT IS >>
<< NO, IT CAN'T BE >>

"...SHIN!"

It comes out as a veritable ROAR, and you can feel the Dragon in your throat amplifying and powering your voice. Green seems into the edges of your vision... but you don't feel at all at a loss for control.

In fact, you feel more in control than ever before. A loud, toneless shout, and the new Lockseed is jammed in and slammed down into the space on the Driver. The Driver grows almost unbearably hot, the black translucent material growing an angry, burning red.

>DRAGONSLAYER ARMS! INFERNO OF GLORY - IKUZE!<

The armor drops down, and that familiar feeling - back so long ago, with the first time you donned the Dragonfruit Armor - washes over you. Orgasmic to a fault, it overrides all your senses --

You see green, and splashes of colors. Red, silver, gold, black. Sounds of cacophony, unintelligible. Sensations of hot and cold and electricity and BURNING all over your skin, inside of you... you're burning up from within...!

You open your eyes fully, getting a good, albeit quick look at the armor you wear. Sure enough, it's more resembling an actual set of plate- and scale-mail this time. A solid cuirass rests upon your chest, with plenty of layers of sturdy-looking metal. Dark scale mail covers your chest and arms, and a jacket of dark magenta with bright green piping is on you as well, secured across your chest with maroon straps and gold touches. Silver pauldrons, not too big so that they don't interfere with your movement, and silver armguards - both more European in design and construction than your prior outfits have had. Along with everything else, lines of energy, bright green, course through your armor and jacket. It's like something out of Phantasy Star Portable or the like. Nice touch.

What's the strangest, out of all of this, is that you feel no helmet anywhere on your body. There's a strange sense, however, that the transformation is not complete.

Regardless, you turn your attention to the Inves, eyes burning and hands clinched into fists.

"My roar shakes the heavens," you say slowly, speaking from the diaphragm to enhance the sound. "and my fury incinerates all that stand before me."

You shove your open hand out, fingers grasping the air a bit, and a thin trail of flame following the movement. Every nerve ending is excited, burning with energy and possibility. If you weren't so damn focused on eliminating the Inves, you could just take a while for yourself.

But duty, as it should, comes first.

"I am Armored... no, not anymore. I was an Armored Rider, but that name doesn't befit us now."

Your gaze casts over the other Armored Riders, as you continue.

"We are the defenders of the town of Zawame, and perhaps the world at large, from those who seek to harm humanity. For that being our mission, I hereby cast aside the name Armored Rider, and adapt a new one to us.

"We are Kamen Rider."

A lot of it is metal. There's a fair amount of Dio on there. Holy Diver, The Last in Line, Rainbow in the Dark... Iron Maiden, too, because Flash of the Blade is a perennial favorite. Autograph, not really as badass due to being hair metal, but they're still on the list because they've got some good energy. There's also some non-label stuff that you coul get on Youtube if you want. Miracle of Sound does some pretty awesome music. Area 11 is weeaboo as all hell, but still got some good tunes. There's a lot of music from SRW there, too, because instrumentals of mecha themes tend to be good for stuff like this. Right now I'm listening to Stoner Sunshine from Getter Robo.

<< KAMEN RIDER >> the Inves goes, tilting its head in utter bewilderment. The voice can't transmit its tone effectively, but you take the chance you can.

"Kamen Rider. Of the heroes of old," you respond. You can vaguely feel a sense of heat - a ring of fire, streaming licks of flames along your feet and around the bottom of your jacket. It bothers you none in this suit, and you pay very little mind - if anything, it spurs you forward.

>>39799514
"Your time has come, Beast... I did promise I would tear you apart, didn't I?" you intone, smirking a bit. The inves breaks its reverie, growling like a caged animal.

<< I WILL CRUSH YOUR SOUL BETWEEN MY JAWS AND BREAK YOUR BODY BY MY BREATH ALONE >> it taunts, snapping its jaw in an effort to intimidate you.

It doesn't.

It only makes your smirk grow.

You focus your will, and a ball of dense flame coalesces upon your outstretched hand. It shapes itself, forms itself... and from the glowing outline comes out... a weapon.

A weapon that you've never really seen, outside of a chuuni's old notebook in 8th grade. It resembles a large, wide scabbard with bladed edges, and two handles alongside it - one to hold it horizontally, as someone carrying a blade would, and another sticking out of the right end. It looks to be approximately 4.5 feet in length, from small sword pommel to the other edge. A barrel sticks out from the other end, and you can clearly pick out a trigger of some kind. And of course, a Lockseed slot, next to a circular kind ofplate. It does look like the crimson part can separate lengthwise, though...

It speaks, mixing hiphop and rock into a jingle--

>ENRYU D-DDJ KIBA! STRIKE AND BURN~!!<

"<TIME TO BEAR OUR FANGS!>" you and Jormungandr call out in unison, drawing the straight single-bladed sword, with a wave of flames, from the weapon and pointing it at the Inves.

So, are there any side-effects to communing too much with Jormungand?
I'm not asking for any particular reason, no sir. Just curious.

Also, Captcha appears to have acquired an obsession with bread and ice cream.

We are the main Rider, clearly. It's high time we got some respect 'round 'ere.

I think I'm the only one who doesn't like heavy metal or rock music on this board. I feel so shame.
>>
>>39800668
In fairness, aside from getting kidnapped that one time (wait, that was just this morning, by Mako's perspective. Busy day for her), she's been pretty consistently the most badass of the Riders. Maybe Oren tops her at a few points, but only situationally.

>Style Meter = 80% and rising (SMOKIN' STYLISH!)

You maintain a firm grip of the scabbard, and grityour teeth.

"Feel my wrath, beast," you breathe, and with a deep intake of breath, the fire aura rises around you. You feel moving parts behind the nape of your neck, and your head locks into place momentarily - metal plates, your helmet. Assembling over your eyes, your ears, and mouth, and locking into place. The HUD comes up, and by GOD it's even more amazing than you had anticipated. There's even a built-in radio system and everything!

Regardless, you take the sword and scabbard, and as easily as stepping off of the sidewalk, you get busy. It's almost as if you're skating along the ground, sliding and scorching across the grass with ease.

The sword moves like a fish through water in your hand, going exactly where you want it to go. The scabbard functions almost exactly like that, except just a bit heavier. It feels like it's meant for you, with your hands and arms.

Before you know it, you're behind the massive monster, flaming gouges at the hamstrings and tendons. Itfalls forward with a HORRIFIC scream of agony, and starts to flail around in pain!

The idea comes to you that if the mouth on the scabbard opens up, there's gotta be something in there, right? But there's no switch or anything to make it open...

As the Inves tries to swing its mighty tail in your direction, you easily hop out of range, no effort expended. The thing's on its last moments, and leaving it to die at this point would just be cruel.

Time to finish this thing off.

"KOUTA!" you call. "Get off the INves' back, I'll take care of this."

You shove the straight sword back into the scabbard, and push the handle forward, as if shifting gears in a car. Sure enough, the bottom half of the "jaw" unhinges and reveals a rather nice-looking broadsword, of white metal, inside. It extends as soon as it's freed to being nearly as tall as you are from tip to end, and the weight reflects that a bit. It takes a little bit of a practiced hand to hold it correctly, using the handle on the "scabbard" to steady it - but it surprisingly fits.

"This is the end for you, Inves. May you find peace in your lives to come..." you murmur, holding it steady for a moment. You unshackle the Dragonslayer Lockseed and fasten it to the Lockseed port in the side of the large blade, revealed when it opened up.

>DRAGONSLAYER CHARGE!< goes the blade, and it visibly burns with magenta energy again. On your HUD, the glowing blue organ in its throat shines - a weak spot.

You've got nothing left to lose.

>Give the Finisher a name?
>Just hit it.

>"KOUTA!" you call. "Get off the INves' back, I'll take care of this."

>3-2, finisher. Gonna dork a bit with it.
>LAST UPDATE FOR THE NIGHT.

"There's no hope for you left," you mutter again, gripping the weapon tight with both hands as it begins to vibrate in your hands. The sounds seem like... revving of a chainsaw.

Well that's faintly disturbing, you absently think to yourself.

But fuck it.

"Nephilim of the Inferno, Dragon's Napalm HELL ST--"

>ENRYU MUSOU Z-Z-Z-ZAN!< shouts the weapon, and you can't help but feel a rush of blood to your cheeks in embarassment. You need to keep those old chuuni tendencies in check, man. Not the time and place.

Regardless, the wanted effect is taken - Kouta leaps off of the body of the monster, and you run up its tail towards the top of its back. Fuck it, you're riding high, this motherfucker is going to die in just a moment, and with a VICIOUS thrust--

-- you pierce the thick, clearly tough scales and flesh --

-- an EARPIERCING scream of pain and agony, but it only sounds like song and beauty to you --

-- you saw as best as you can, pulling the blade through flesh like an electric knife through a ham hock --

-- the entire time, the Inves is roaring and almost crying and screaming --

-- And with a lop, the head rolls off, after what feels like forever. The buildup of volatile liquids in the inves' body, however, is a telltale sign - you get clear of the body, dragging the rest of the Armored Riders along with you, and the resulting explosion shakes the ground below you. You're damn sure that that's a kind of really big cloud of whatever-the-hell it is that just exploded...

But now, you're free.

And you've successfully killed a Kaiju Inves.

You fall down without a care and the world goes silent and black...

>TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK!
>>
>>39801697
Ugh, usually when they explode all the gross stuff in them gets incinerated. I guess there was so much in this one that didn't catch it all. Nasty.

Well, thanks for running, Sagara, This was a great thread, I really enjoyed what we got up to tonight. See you next week.
