>Summary:
You are techpriest Heracor Nahive. You were forcefully implanted a brain chip that made you into little more than a working drone, after escaping your homeworld you somehow got yourself into the Inquisitorial Cruiser “Speculum Animæ”.

>Main Mission:
- Become stronger and fight the Magus that installed the chip on your brain.
>>Secondary Missions:
- None
>>Optional Missions:
- Try to destroy the heretical information stored on your brain.

There will be more messages than usual for the starter, I was inspired.

The last days before arriving into realspace were pretty tense and stressing due to the “Crossing Terror”, pretty much everybody felt nervous. Reaching the other side safely was never totally assured and the idea of the possible upcoming catastrophe was a reason enough to break into fights and cause problems.

When the first brawl happened you ran towards Karelia’s office but it was locked, for some reason, still unknown today, the Inquisitress always hoarded food and water and then locked herself in her office during the last days. She possibly spent all that time obsessively looking at the camera feed in the search of heretical thoughts. The poor woman was pretty open minded when it came to acceptation among the people she worked with but she distrusted everybody equally.

Since Karelia wasn't able to take care of her daughters you moved them into your habitaculum for the last three days and let them have sleepovers with Alaria. In that short span of time they somehow managed to drastically change the look of your room and fill it with toys, dresses and all kinds of child paraphernalia. You were at first worried of the machine spirits being bothered by the changes but not even the desk light flickered as a signal of protest, apparently the spirits just didn't minded or weren't able to notice it at all. To pass the night you would not repeat the same mistake as the last time and due to them now occupying your bed you had your office chair moved to your room, it wasn't the comfiest option but it would at least let you sleep close to them and react quickly if anything went wrong.
>>
>>39788041
The area close to the Mansion where the main HQ was located was pretty calm but the closer you got to the lower levels where the bulk of the crew worked the more noticeable the tension became. Several times when travelling to the Mechanicus Cathedral you found yourself close to a fight between crewsmen for the most banal reasons, they all ended pretty quickly when the guards were dispatched and they shoot down everybody that was close with rubber pellets. It was odd how the penitatorium cells became filled in such a short time, but what really surprised you most was that they didn't received any punishment when the normal treatment would be twenty lashes to the back.

Before exiting the Inmaterium the entire Cathedral worked extra hard, a cord of Skitarii was formed around it sensible areas like the Warp Drive to avoid any sabotage attempt in such delicate moments like this one. You with the other Magos and Teachers joined the on last day on a twelve hour long litany chant that sounded all across the sound system and even reached the dirty ears of the slaves working below. This chant was sung to please the Cruiser’s machine spirit and also to ask the Omnissiah for safety and protection. The part that you had to sing was not only dedicated to the Skitarii forces but also to all the war arts of the cult and it’s myriads of weapons that the Mechanicus manufacture, from the regular and common lasgun to the massive and incredibly powerful NOVA Cannon. Your voice wasn't a human one anymore and thus it sounded pretty emotionless but still you were praised for your act. This song had a second more occult purpose, it was made to muffle the crying and babbling of the scared workers and tire their minds with a repetitive yet nigh impossible to notice background noise that made them feel complacent and sleepy.
>>
>>39788056
With most of them completely under the song’s effect the ship started opening a breach into both the Inmaterium and Reality to cross the barriers between the two. Everybody felt nervous but there was no going back now.

As the ships plunged into the hole you once again found yourself surrounded by planets, distant stars, and other ships instead of the sea of everchanging colors that was the warp. When the speakers announced a successful entrance everybody breathed relieved, it was a deceiving relief thought; it wasn't over yet. Mere moments after the arrival the ship became surrounded by one of the infamous gravity tides that have caused so many problems in the past. Everybody felt the sudden heavy gravity pressing their bones and causing joints to hurt, followed shortly after by a light gravity tide that revolved all their stomachs and caused some to puke.

You were a lucky passenger, some of people that where close to the hulls and its massive stained windows were sucked into the void when the glass wasn't able to hold the sudden changes and broke into millions of pieces. They were just a dozen of casualties thought, nothing really catastrophic having in consideration the heavy population of the ship. Besides the aforementioned windows the cruiser suffered other sustainable damages, some parts of the hull became dented with crater like holes and four of the macrocannons became twisted into seemingly impossible ways, luckily those cannons didn't had any munition inside, otherwise they would have probably exploded and caused even more structural problems and casualties. About the “Wilhelmina’s Sacrifice” Frigate, it was somehow able to survive the gravity riptides as the Cruiser acted like a shield of some sort.
>>
>>39788079
The two ships were able to be docked in the Space Port that orbited over the moon of Pandoríka Cuatt. After doing so I was shocked to see that all the jailed workers were suddenly released but to your surprise they just started working as if nothing happened. You were about to question one of them about it but when you turned around you encountered yourself with the stoic Karelia that answered that for you even before you could even answer.

“You see, those people are weak minded but not really evil, they break into fights for pure instinct… like when animals feel confused and in danger. With us having successfully entered into realspace their fears finally fade away. They will pay their insubordination with work instead of a painful punishment. Even the simplest beasts can learn that something is wrong and doesn't have to be done after applying pain. I don’t want them to learn that the Crossing Terror should not be feared. It is the fear the reason why they are so easy to control, they are now going to happily work like slaves and do a week worth of duty in half of that time. Good job taking care of my daughters. Meet me in this place at this same time in 50 hours, come with your servoskull.”

After saying this she disappeared among the people and probably sneaked into one of her personal secret corridors. Karelia might not be able to psychically read your mind but she sure knows how you think. Honestly you start to consider that she might not have spent the last days controlling the people and avoiding fights but encouraging them with rumors, provocations and other means. The more people was jailed the more the more controlled they would be after all. She was truly a scary yet efficient fearmonger and leader.

Over the vox system it was announced that the two ships would spend two entire days refueling and in the case of the Cruiser, being repaired. You went shortly after that towards the Skitarii temple and were greeted by Faust, which informed you that some of the warriors have planned visiting the Space Port’s AdMech temple and that they have already established a comm-link with them. They have accepted exchanging information and right now all their bionics and other information are available to us, and they have access to our blueprints we store.

That got you thinking; during all this time you have been preaching that everybody has to try to be unique and modify itself as it sees fit to reach its true potential, you and your warriors had been applying this so far but they have all been using already existing designs and thus their maximum capacity is not truly released. For one to do so must have the chance to design and turn oneself into what really seeks. This while ideal wasn't truly achievable thought, changing or innovating while possible was really slow because getting the necessary permissions and sanctions was near impossible for somebody who wasn't a Magos or held another elevated rank.
>>
>>39788111

Someone of an elevated rank like yourself you thought. It was good to challenge your warriors to make them more competitive and efficient. Maybe you should create a safe and secret workshop away from Karelia’s eyes where you could design weapons, bionics, armor and anything that you desired on your behalf. Right now you would be the only one with access but as time passed you would be the judge to decide which one would be worthy enough to enter and be able to unlock their true potential.

The temple was absolutely humongous and gigantic, the considerable dimensions of the Cruiser paled in comparison.

It was formed by several kilometrical vertical towe that were connected by metallic rings. Those tubular towers differed in height and width but each one of them could hold thousands of souls and was covered with lights and antennas.

The central rings were the ones owned by the several Imperial facilities. One tube hold the Adeptus Custodes HeadQuarter and Prison, other was completely dedicated to the Mechanicum... Apparently surrounding those were the ones were the people lived and the furthest one went from the central rings the shadier the place became. On each of those towers there were several docking points, that way each ship could land on their designated place for maximum optimization. This pleased you greatly.

Judging by the number of priests and the Imperial Cult iconography and statues that were around the ship landed on one of the Ecclesiarchy designated tower. There were several Sisters of Battle among them but you were unable to see what Order did they belong to, honestly you were more focused on the technology behind their armor than the colors that decorated it.

There were several train trams that connected the towers between them and were common enough to be taken with almost no waiting time. Those trains weren't as glorious and potent like the Plinia Vesus one but they were interesting too, they became airtight sealed because there were moments were they traveled thru pure vacuum and they were so small that grav generators couldn't be installed on them. There were hooks and bars to grab and stay steady not only on the ceiling but also on the walls and even on the floor for those zero gravity moments.

On the distance you saw a hooded horse rider. This was an odd sight even in a overpopulated place like this and you didn't doubted to use your optical zoom with him

It was a Mechanicus Skitarii, it was completely covered with his tattered robes and had a visor that hid its face completely surrounding it into a shroud of mystery. You couldn't even discover what gender was it and even less how did it looked. The horse it was riding was completely mechanical, it seemed like a hybridization between a equine and a warbike. Instead of a "Head" there was a pintle mounted heavy stubber and on the sides of it two chopper like handles were installed. The rider was able to accelerate and guide its mechanical horse with those handles and surely there was a button somewhere that also acted like the trigger for the weapon. Without even noticing your presence it entered into one of the train cars with the horse, nobody dared to complain about its big dimensions.

A young yet already gray haired girl waved the hand at your direction. It was obvious that she was trying to catch the attention of every one and since you seemed to have free time unlike the rest of the workers she was trying really hard on making you notice her.

You just shrugged internally and asked yourself why not. Slowly and avoiding every pedestrian you made your way into her. She had a pretty conflicting appareance, young face but gray hair, she had a lot of vitality on her eyes but they were dark and looked sleep deprived. She kind of looked like most techpriest aspirant student sans the usual bionics.

"Welcome, stranger." You greeted cordially.

"Welcome to you too fellow visitor of Pandoria's SpacePort. We are the main orbital hub here on this system and it is good that you made your first stop in the Ecclesiarchy tower, this place is full of sin and danger after all!"

"Oh? Did I make wrong coming to this System?" You answered.

"What? NO!" She seemed somewhat flustered but not personally offended. "Most people don't like this System for the dangers it carries but they are just ungrateful with what they have...some people don't even have a planet to call home after all." It was obvious to even someone as apathetic like you that it was a sensitive topic for her, she was apparently a ghost, a homeless citizen.

"I see. And what places should I try to avoid to not get close to this danger?" Honestly you didn't cared at all about the possible dangerous zones, you wouldn't visit them unless Karelia ordered to do so after all. You just tried to avoid and awkward situation.

"Well the furthest rings are the worst; the slums! They live next to the drainage sewers and most of the time they spend it sinning or raiding the ships that are about to leave and pass next to them."
>>
>>39789075

"Very well, and what its in the central rings?"

Her eyes became even more brighter and she smiled, she was surely awaiting for that question and had memorized the following speech over a hundred times.

"It is the heart, core and soul of this port. On the central tower lives the Nalasha Hermann, the planetary Governor. Surrounding her are the main important organisations that form the Adeptus Terra. The first stop for all the ships is the Administratum Bureau were they have to state the reason of arrival, the date when they exited and when they have planed to leave, if they are also merchants they have to fill the maroon handout PJ-88 by triplicate were they write what they carry and how many thrones do they expect to earn so they can correctly tax them."

She was almost out of breath when she finished her speech as she didn't stopped at any time to recover herself.

"You...you" She gasped. "You are a techpriest right?"

That question could be easily answered with a nod but you gave her an oral answer to give her a few more seconds to recover herself.

"That is correct, yes I am."

She bowed and once again said another memorized speech, this one was shorter thought.

"The Ecclesiarchy thanks your services and loyalty as without your knowledge about technology the preaching of the Emperor's doctrine would be nigh impossible."

That was a pretty nice detail honestly.

"I recommend you to visit your cult's temple. I barely have any information about it or what happen inside it's walls but I can tell you how to reach it sire."

"Well, do tell me everything you know about the temple miss."

She blushed and her face suddenly adquired a red tone, surely becase she was not used to someone being so polite with her and giving her so much attention.

"Their tower is that red one! They have lots of antennas and other things I don't understand about. They revere machines and from time to time go on hunts to the slums to raid looted technology and punish the ones that mistreat it."

Interesting, hunting Skitarii. It was surprising how many forms and variation could a warrior adopt.

"You can get into the trains Z-13, Z-15 and Y-82 to reach their entrance. All of them pass every five minutes so don't worry if you lose it!"

"Thank you for your service. You are doing the Emperor's work."

She seemed to faint for an instant but managed to stay conscious and up. You turned around and saw on the distance a great group of your gold, red and black robed Skitarii warriors hopping into one of the aforementioned trains. You didn't managed to catch them but it mattered not, if what the guide said was true a train would soon pass by.

Those five minutes seemed eternal but according to your internal clock she was correct, about five minutes later another train was waiting. You got in and decided to recoil your dendrites and sit down as best as you could to take as less space as possible. Only a minute after the train accelerated it entered into a long and dark tunnel, some screens above the doors flashed with the following message "AIRLOCK TUNNEL IN PROGRESS" you didn't understood it at first but it all became clear, soon the train started riding its tracks in open space and gravity became nonexistant.
>>
>>39789593
To avoid having to stop the trains every few minutes the Mechanicus devised a long air lock were the trains went by, after entering it sealed and substracted all the trapped air inside before opening the airlock. That way the transport was able to enter and exit atmospheric environments without the need of stopping.

You were quick to use your magboots and lock yourself into the floor but still the rest of your body continued ascending now that there was no gravity. A ten minute travel were everybody was bumping into each other without any way of stopping it became pretty amusing for me, but to the already used passengers it was really mundane and even annoying.

Before reaching the Adeptus Mechanicus tower the train once again passed by an especial tunnel to re-enter a air filled space, with it also came the artificial gravity and some sighs of complacence from the travelers.

The temple seemed to be pretty militaristic and focused on the use of primitive powder weapons, surely because they worked on space too and weren't strong enough to pierce any wall if used on open space.

The Skitarii group that you saw before was still on the train station deciding what to do and how to approach them, they were techpriest too but those warriors lacked a lot of social skills and apparently talking with strangers was pretty anxious for them.

Well, you aren't really hopeful for their social charismatic evolution when it comes to them. You aren't a silver tongued person either but you can defend yourself you think. Maybe you could teach them by becoming a living example.

First you approach them and make notice them of your presence. Most of them automatically recognize you the instant they see you but some others that are more focused on the place need some more seconds to see you.

"Let's make a group and explore this place together. I am not responsible of anybody who gets lost by it's own fault, unless they manage to reach the group again they will be left on this space station on their own. Even if you are Skitarius if this ends happening your acceptance in this temple is not assured. Don't stray from the group and you will not be abandoned, good machines have all their pieces securely fixed."

Some of the youngest and more adventurous warriors groan but they don't dare to disobey your word and the entire group approaches a shy techpriest that seems scared of seeing such a big group of strange warriors approaching him at once. Before reaching him you turn around and talk with the group.
>>
>>39790161
"Did everybody noticed his body language? He is scared, scared of us. We are warriors of the Mechanicum, augmented beyond human limitations to send our holy wrath against anybody who dares to oppose us. Don't have to be afraid of them, they have to be afraid of you!"

With this said you once again faced the guide and walked towards him with heavy steps that made him shiver even more.

"Greetings, young Techpriest. I request all the information that you dispose of this your temple. Do not make us wait."

The entire group focused their eyes and bright lenses on him, what made the poor youngster feel more pressured and scared.

"Yes of course! T-this temple was built in 235.M40 it on it all the technology of this system is performed, mostly communication systems, starship repairing and powder weapon manufacturing. Even if it might be considered primitive we are very proud of our auto and slug weapons, our powder is the best one there it is!"

He seems really nervous and about to pass out, a screen on his chest starts bleeping intensely, surely it is his heartbeat going crazy. You have to teach your pupils to be intimidating but not abusing, better just make a couple of questions and leave him alone for good.

I said only two questions but fuck it.

"As you can see, me and my lieges are men of arms. What can you tell me about their weapons?"

His beady eyes soon focused on all their weapons, some of them even unsheathed their swords to make them more visible.

"W-well since this is an spacer community and most people live in spaceships or stations the most common weapon in this System is the shotgun. It is able to stop a man without damaging the hull or the internal structure of a ship and risk a breach."

You saw those shotguns stopping brawling people not long ago, any other weapon would have pierced a wall or a pipe creating important and possibly critical damages. If you recall correctly you had never used a powder based weapon, they are too noisy and not powerful enough on your opinion, besides you have some distaste for them since you saw the daemonically tainted Noctum using a heavy machine gun on battle.

"Those weapons can function on void and zero gravity enviroments and in case of a EMP discharge like when a plasma reactor explodes those weapons will continue working because they lack actual electronics."

There was some approbation nods and grunts on your back, possibly coming from Skitarii that fought on the frigate and saw how dangerous one of those reactors can be.

"As you probably know most of those planets have a non-breathable toxic to human atmosphere. On most of those the concentration of combustible gases is higher than usual and thus the explosion of the gun is increased. I might be wrong thought, I'm just a lowly techpriest after all."

You didn't knew much about the internal mechanisms of those weapons and what chem
ical reactions happened for the bullet propelling but it sounded logical at least.
>>
>>39791191

"What about their Skitarii temple. What can you tell us about it?"

"They are highly traditionalist and have a very particular code of honor and chivalry. They oath to defend this System and their technology and are one of the few groups in there that likes the Gravity riptides, as they let them to forge materials and weapons that cannot be done during any other time. I have no idea of when, how or where do they make those forgings thought."

The guide searched around his robe and after he found it he showed us the iconography of this temple. It showed a cogwheel with six holes inside of it. It had two different perspectives because while it was true that it looked like a gear it also resembled the chamber of a revolver.

"Not going to lie, they are pretty few in numbers right now because most have gone off-system in the search of a STC. The few remaining ones spend their time between maintaining the peace and fighting in the slums when any techno-crime happens. They have pretty strong relationships with the Arbiters because of it but they are always reminded that they aren't truly agents of law and thus they aren't exempt from it. This reminder comes because one time one Skitarii hunted a criminal that smuggled with xenotech, the chase ended destroying two train stations and killing hundreds when the airlock tunnels became destroyed..."

You shut him before he continued speaking, he was good willed but spoke way too much and if he didn't revealed more secrets it was because he simply doesn't knows about it.

"What if you guide us around the temple?"

"U-uh sure! As you order m'lord. We have many places to visit. Where do you want to start?"

>Their Skitarii temple

"Well, we are warriors, obviously the Skitarii temple is of our interest."

Behind you some approbation grunts and cheers were heard, those were men and women of action, while it was true that they praised technology as well as any other techpriest they were not as enthusiast to learn about it as the regular members were.

We were guided into the building. It was filled with modern and a sleek looking aesthetic that somehow combined with the more usual and Gothic one. The building was separated by circular floors that contained the different areas, the first and closest ones to the entrance were the living zones and rooms, above them the labs and factories were located and on top the Skitarii temple; there were underground floors too that contained the storing warehouses.

Every floor was connected by several small elevators that crossed them from the top to the basement and whose exterior materials also acted like containment beams. On the center of it there was the biggest elevator, it was able to take us all in and we quickly ascended towards the top.

As we went up we were able to see the different levels but since the speed was so high nothing but blurry silhouettes were what we could catch. When we reached our destination we found ourselves blown by a wave of powder smelling smoke and the noise of guns firing nonstop. The place looked smaller than the rest of the rooms but its dimensions were not lesser, it was just that it had to be covered with thicker walls to muffle the heavy noise and let them survive the many bullet impacts. There were obviously no windows but several pict screens acted like ways to the exterior. Some of them were cracked but the ones that were not showed men in spacesuits and jetpacks shooting at targets in the void.
>>
>>39791828

One of those screens cached my attention, there was a recording of an Skitarii that used a catapult like device to throw what seemed like an explosive charge and then aimed at it. He managed to make a succesful shoot and then the screen shook and turned into static, a second later a vibration hit the room from the outside came. It wasn't a recording, those screens showed how those Skitarii were fighting on the outside, using explosives as objectives.

The group disbanded, some continued looking at the screens, others went to the training areas on their own. You? You continued in disbelief. Moments later a hatched opened and a person in a smoking spacesuit came down, as he passed next to you he just nodded.

>Ask him why was he training like that.
>Continue observing the outside cameras and how they train.
>Walk towards the shooting range.

You stopped the man and raised his visor. He was pretty rough looking, as if his skin had been sunburned thousands of times. On his face a white hair and light sand colored eyes contrasted heavily with his tanned skin.

"Can you please answer me what was that?"

"Waddawa wot?"

Warp dammit. This people had pretty thick accents.

"The thing that you had done on the void, launching the explosive and then firing at it."

"Regula lidg'ndexplosa traina."

Regular light and explosion training? What could that mean.

"Please explain yourself fellow Skitarii."

The man rolled his eyes and lowered his visor, on it words started to appear as it also seemed to act like a text showing screen.

+IT WAS A TRAINING TO ACCUSTOM US TO HEAVY LIGHT AND EXPLOSIONS+
+WE MIGHT FIGHT ON EXPLODING HULLS AND SPACESHIPS THAT MIGHT SEND ELECTROMAGNETIC PULSES AND THUS WE CANNOT RELY ON BIONIC LENSES LIKE YOU+
+EVERY DAY WE FACE THOSE EXPLOSIONS UNTIL THEIR FIRE DOESNT SCARES NOR AFFECTS US+
+ONCE A WEEK WE ALSO HAVE TO TAKE REJUVENATION PROCESSES TO DONT STRAIN OUR CORNEAS TOO MUCH+
>>
>>39792262

With this said the Skitarius then showed you his middle finger and then went to the changing rooms to finally remove his still smoke and heat emitting suit. What a curious way those people have to say goodbye.

You then spent the next hour looking with some other warriors how they trained. They didn't only faced explosions but also readied charges and then trained their agility and reaction times by having to fly away with their jetpacks from the upcoming explosion. For some odd reason they also engaged in some sort of martial combat that only used kicks as direct contact but that had the use of arms to block and dodge allowed. Maybe it was more of a game than a training, those people seemed to lack discipline.

"Why don't you try that too sire?" Asked one your warriors that seemed completely attracted by their strange culture.

"We are guests in there. I don't know if we have that allowed."

"Yes we do!" Said a far away voice.

The entire group turned around and saw one of your warriors tucking into one of their spacesuits.

>Reprimand him for not having asked you permission before. Forbid anyone from the temple to put their practices to test.
>Test your student, let him train with them on void conditions if he wins you into a fight with those strange rules that they use.
>Allow him and praise his initiative, tell the rest of the warriors that they should be like him.
>Allow him and make the rest of the group observe. Make them study how someone untrained might find in such conditions.

"This man right here. He knows what danger he is going to face and still wants to try it for the sake of gaining experience and knowledge from it. Everybody should learn from him. The warriors of this temple might look odd to us but they have to be respected, they defend this System and are well appreciated here. You all should make an stop and visit any Skitarii temple you cross regardless of how small it might be."

Seconds later you were waiting with him for the Airlock to open.

The lights overhead turns from red to green, the servos to the door you're both facing initiate the opening sequence, praise the Omnissiah. The airlock opens in a flash, the following explosive decompression propel both of you into the cold, empty embrace of the void. You can feel the blood vessels rupturing from your still organic orifices. Unable to stand burden you forgot to drop back in the frigate, your bowels give up and dump their load into your armor. Spinning madly and uncontrollably, you can see your fellow skitarii staring in shock. As seconds passes the lack of heat reaches affects your vital organs, which cease to function properly. How inefficient.
After daring to fight the voidtiness out of space, you faced the shameful situation crapping yourself in front of your students and

The warriors of this temple might look odd to us but they have to be respected, they defend this System and are well appreciated here. You all should make an stop and visit any Skitarii temple you cross regardless of how small it might be."

Some minutes later you were donning another spacesuit and waiting with him for the Airlock to open. The last seconds were becoming pretty tense so you decided to have a small talk to make things less stressing.

"What's your name soldier?"

"Toweso, Toweso Nadie sir!"

"Greetings Toweso, have you ever been in open space, in the cold void?"

"C-can't say I have."

"Well, then you have the same experience as me."
>>
>>39793055

You tried to crack that joke to relax him but he was so tense that the inverse happened, knowing that his superior had no experience made him feel even more stressed. The lights overhead turns from red to green, the servos to the door you're both facing initiate the opening sequence, praise the Omnissiah. The airlock opens in a flash, the following explosive decompression propel both of you into the cold, empty embrace of the void. When the airlock opened we felt the lack of gravity pulling towards us, we were tied to the ship with some ropes that could be pulled twice to recoil automatically and had several magnets that let us lock onto any metallic surface but even with all those objects pulling us the sensation was strange and alien.

We managed to slowly walk towards were the strange catapult devices were located. The act of walking was annoying and hard to get used at. When our feet connected with the floor they got locked and weight like normal limbs but the instant they ascended they once again became weightless.

The already used Skitarii of this temple would be surely laughing hard looking at how odd we walked. We were given pellet rifles, a laughable choice in combat but the safest one for newbies like us right now, their impacts would be strong enough to activate the explosives but not to damage the visors or the suits in case of friendly fire.

It was activated by pressing a pedal, a fine choice having in count that we would have to aim shortly after. Trying to act exemplar you stomped the pedal and saw a ball of explosives flying upwards.

Those explosives were designed to not be truly dangerous in case something wrong happened, they had no true shrapnel on them and their design was more like fireworks; their core had a great content of magnesium on them among other reactive components that when burned generated a lot of powerful and colored lights.

As it ascends you automatically aim your gun and shoot. It is really small and lightweight compared with your plasma rifle yet it has a similar shape and the operation is the same. When pressing the trigger there is no heavy sound, light or strange buzzing. Just a small vibration and a small pellet being launched away.

It manages to impact and somehow its explosion is way bigger than it should be. It completely covers your vision with colorful yet harmless lights and sparks. As you have lenses this training is near useless for you but it is still a beautiful and inspiring moment. It has somehow exploded near perfectly and surely even the people outside is surprised by it.( Roll 99 )

Pumped with adrenaline you push the pedal again and see another firework charge being launched. This time the pellet falls by little distance thought. What a shame. ( Roll 45 )

You look at him and shrug.

"Guess it was just luck, why don't you try?" I tell him over the radio.

He nods and after you move away presses the pedal. He gets completely nervous and somehow he loses the grip on the gun at it starts to float away freely but luckily you manage to grab it before it becomes space junk. ( Roll 9 )

"Try again, you'll do good this time."

With your praise he seems to relax and focus and tries once again. This time his pellet manages to impact one side of the charge but still enough to set it on fire and make it explode. ( Roll 57 )

After this you praise him even more and return, once in the airlock you see him remove his helmet and see his happy grin. He has achieved something that nobody of his group of friends has done and he wants to brag about it.

Once inside you see that there are more of your students asking for spacesuits and that the relationship between the two temples and their respective students has become warmer.

After you are done with the suit removal and are once again donning your robe and armor you are greeted by the same Skitarius that you saw before on the train station.

"Think we haven't meet before, name's Nintar. I'm the leader here."

His robe looked somewhat like a poncho, under it you managed to see many pistols and ammunition. He somewhat reminded you of an old friend but right now you couldn't recall who exactly.

"Greetings Nintar. I am Heracor Nahive. Leader of the Skitarii Temple of the Inquisitorial cruiser Speculum Animæ and current leader of the Skitarii Æterna temple."

"Your chaps seem like good fellas, maybe a lil bit too preppy to my taste but not bad behaved, not at all... Anyway, just wanting to officially greet you and all that stuff, your people is welcome to use our training grounds, weapons and even look at our bionics, won't give them full access to our best toys tho HARHARR!!"

Well, it was a nice detail. Honestly you never thought what procedure would you take if any day any visitor came to your installations.

"So, we both hav different fighting styles but we two look hella thought, what if I get the ring ready and we brawl to give our lads a good show and make them be even more bonded?"

"You kind of remind me to somebody...an old friend I would say."

"Ha! was he as handsome as I am?"

"No...well I cannot say. Masculine aesthetics are not one of my strong points." You sighed and tried to remember more about him. "It was an Skitarii like you, used guns too, several kinds of guns."

"Ooooh I gotcha, that's my lil bro Kontarus. Last thing I heard about him was that he was in some lost ass planet with fire and lava everywhere. So you managed to meet him or only heard his tales and antics? He always was a crazy guy, pretty good fighter tho."

It suddenly hit you. How similar they are in both mannerisms and appearance, even their clothing and fighting style seems to be close. You had doubts about if he should known the truth but lying was something wrong after all.

"You are right, he was a good soldier and a very brave one..."

"W-what do ya mean with was?"

"I don't recall it completely-" This time it was a lie, but chaos was something really delicate, in this occasion hiding the truth was beneficial. "- but there were massive riots among the prisoners. He sacrificed himself and saved countless of lives."

Enraged he punched me. His fist was pretty weak, not because he wasn't physically strong, he just needed to relieve himself, he wasn't angered with me.

"Tell me how. TELL ME NOW HOW HE DIED!"

Before I could answer he grabbed me by the robes and roundkicked me to the floor, without any chance to react I found myself being dragged.

"Get the ring ready, we are gonna have a fight!"

Moments later he pushed you into an octogonal ring with forcefield like boundaries.

When you stood up you saw him grabbing his revolvers and placing bullets on it.

"Last chance prettyboy. Tell me how my brother died!"

>Tell him the truth, try to calm him.
>Charge and fight him before he manages to reload completely

"Well unfortunately the circumstances and foe he faced is classified by inquisitorial mandate, but he went out like a true hero. I'm sure he would want you to fight me. thought."

He hammered his revolver and pointed at your head. You were about to run away but his finger was quicker. There was no direct impact, the bullet went flying close to the side of your face and ricocheted back on the forcefield, hitting you directly on the nape and catching you by surprise and throwing you to the ground.

"Training bullets, I aint a killer, Im not gonna kill a buster that fought with my bro side by side. C'mon step it up and get up. I aint done with ya."

You grabbed your chainsword and rolled on the ground to avoid more shoots. It seems that while Konterus was more of a trigger happy person his older brother was more headed into aiming and had an excellent calculation on angles. He continued shooting at the fields to make the bullets ricochet and catch you by surprise, sometimes even bouncing from more than one wall.

When you managed to stand up your ankles and legs were already shoot several times and each step was painful. He had crippled you down.

What do our skiitari think of us? What do they girls think of us? How badly does Alaria want her first bionic?
>>
>>39794591
>What do our skiitari think of us?
Like with any leader there are mixed opinions. Most of them like him because the other leader was a pain in the ass. A minority misses being bullies tho.

>What do they girls think of us?
Both sisters think that we are their teachers and that most of what they know about the world as been taught by you. They respect and both might even have crushes on you, they are still young after all and swooning over teachers is something not so unusual.

Alaria doesn't really think of us as a father because she still remember them, she thinks of you as a protector and teacher too but way more seriously than the sisters do.

>How badly does Alaria want her first bionic?
She wants to become stronger yet fears the Skitarii to some degree. In any case she would be way more willing to train than to get bionics. So far only one has been discovered on herself and was just a small hearing aid.
>>
>>39794662
Have we gotten a physical training regimen for her yet? If we did would the other girls try to join in?
>>
>>39794847
She doesn't has any training or anything like that so far. She's living with us now thought. I might try to give some options for her like diets, training and teachings in future threads.

Example:
Diet: Protein powders, Calcium and Red Meat
Training: Close combat and Disarming
Teachings: Swordforging and weapon maintenance.

Alaria is about 8 years old. Keep her like that for another eight and by the time she's 16 she might be a strong swordmaster.
