It's amazing what a little muscle can do to finding the truth.
You are Jack Albator, skilled negotiator, amazing interrogator, and now you have some of the answers you're looking for!
Today you decided to cleverly use an enemy trap in order to find out where the kidnapped villages were being sent. So lo and behold, you were able to find out where! They were being held in yet another village in a far-away land!
Next came your quest to find out who was in charge and send them to Davy Jones' locker. You had a lucky break when some of the people who were being used to kidnap people accidentally got caught up in it themselves and were also taken. Thanks to Cody and his amazing gambling abilities, you were able to get inside their prison to have a 'talk' with them.

And talk, they did. It seems none of them were directly responsible for what happened. They were just as clueless about what was happening as you were. They are a group of wine makers who very commonly made the trip to Gallete to give away their wine before the cold season hit. It almost was like the trail went cold here.
Until one of them recalled something strange.
He was asked by a royal knight to add *something* to his mixture before he took it to Gallete. At the time, they tasted it and found nothing out of the ordinary. But given a little time, the wine fermented with the new mixture and that activated the spell that teleported people away.

Clever bastards, those bears.
Now, you're in the hard place of not knowing exactly where you are and only having the name of an enemy knight to go off of. It's better than nothing though, right?

>Keep exploring the town
>You're feeling thirsty
>Forget this, go to the edge of the town and see what is keeping people trapped inside
>That knight, find him. Work your way up the chain of command
>Other?
>>
Everyone, I posted this so late that I have to drive home soon.

In the meantime, I'll ask the favor I wanted to know about.

My other quest, CPM, is nearing completion. I would say it has 10 or so threads remaining (not a scientific guess). The problem is that at the current rate with my job, it runs once a week.

I was wanting to give Thursdays to it until it finishes. So it would run Thurs/Sat and Dog Days Tuesday. This would last for about a month at the current rate.

What do you say? Talk it over and I'll see you when I get home!

converse with cody on "playing cards" with every one else later.

>That knight, find him. Work your way up the chain of command
We'll get the truth out of that gods damned bear knight with our notbear hands.
>>
>>39810594
im fine with the change.
>>
>>39810493
>>>That knight, find him. Work your way up the chain of command
Is there any magic or something that can help wtih this?
Because I'm leaning towards finding magic and FINALLY being allowed to punch some faces in.
>>
>>39810594
Also, I'm fine with this, I guess.
Does this mean we'd then get tuesday, thursday and saturday for Dog Days?
>>
So we find the knight, get some info from him (and then we do to him what Tuile did to that asshole that made him so terrified of her), then we hopefully find some king or something and beat up the ones in charge.
That sound about right?
>>
>>39811509
Assumedly yes, unless he has another quest planned for after CPM is done.
>>
>>39810493
>That knight, find him. Work your way up the chain of command
>>
>>39810594
sure!
i'm pretty hyped for CPM's ending
>>
the wait is real son
>>
That took longer than it normally does.

>That knight, find him. Work your way up the chain of command

Also good to hear people are okay with the change so far.

That knight.

You know you need to find him, he's the only lead that you have so far. You also know that he was told to watch the 'prisoners' kept inside the town for some specific reason. You're not sure if they're here to be used for something or if the plan is just to get a bunch of people together.

Whatever it is, you don't like it one bit.
"Any kinda voodoo you can use to find that knight, Aligot?"
"Afraid not." He tries thinking of an alternative. "We're just going to have to ask around."

Cody scoffs, "Why should anyone here know about some random knight from Konditorei?"
"Kinda makes me wish Kayda came along.." Tuile sighs.

"There's no reason to believe she knows anything about those knights, either. "
"Aye think we should just ask around in the bars, meself."
Of course, your thirst is not dictating that at all, nope.

You come to a corner where people are being handed rations of bread from a merchant. By the looks of it, none of them are particularly happy about it. The merchant has cat ears, and most of the people waiting for rations have a mix of dog and bunny ears.

Not farther past that is a collection of makeshift benches and chairs. The bunny and dog people seem to be conversing in sad tones as they eat their meager amounts of food.

Except one guy, he's dressed in rather ornate clothes at a table.

He's eying your party intently.
He has bear ears.

>Ignore him, it's probably someone sent to keep an eye on you
>Try talking to him, hear him out before you rearrange his nose
>Don't even say anything, just go punch him in the face.
>Search the area, this is obviously a trap.
>Other?

Or at least act like we are? We walk around a few places to see if he follows us there or not.
>>

>>Search the area, this is obviously a trap.
then
>>Try talking to him, hear him out before you rearrange his nose
>>
>>39814798
>Search the area, it's probably a trap
>> Make sure the guy can not escape while we search the area
>Now it's time to talk to him.

There, that should solve things - he can't escape, we can check the area... and then we do some interrogation.
>>
...Is there any magic for making someone tell the truth, or spying on someone?
>>
Oh man today' is going really slow

>scout the area out first
>Then talk to the guy

>>39815491
Yeah, not sure what's going on, generally we're way more active than this.
>>
>>39815319
There might be but I doubt we have access to it.
>>
>>39815547
Well I was thinking, we've got Tuile and Aligot, maybe there'd be something to work with there?
As the vote has already been called, though, no point worrying about it.
>>
Jeez where is everyone.

"Cody, ye see-"
"I see him."

Yuuki steps in front of Tuile, "What do we do?"

"First off" You tug at Yuuki's oversized dress and pull her away from Tuile, "We act natural. Pretend we don't see 'em."

Which is easier said than done. It's clear Aligot already locked eyes with him, and isn't going to stop any time soon. Plus Odelle is practically clinging to Tuile's arm at this point.
"'ere's what we do, we gonna walk around the premises once and make sure he's alone. Then we gonna see what he wants."
"Are you serious!?" Odelle nearly explodes.
"Jack has a point," Cody seems perfectly calm about all this. "He ain't gonna attack three heroes head-on. He's up to somethin'. We just gotta find out what it is."

Your group makes a lap around the square, being sure to stick together and see if anyone else is watching you.
Something seems wrong with all of this, because you can't find anything. No one watching, no one trying to stalk you. Nothing.

Either you're missing what the trick is, or this guy is insanely stupid.
"Aye'll go talk to him. Everyone else stay back."
"Wait!" Tuile holds onto your shoulder, "You're going over there? ALONE?"
"Aye." You take a drink from your flask. "If somethin' gets sprung, I want to be the one at the center."

Tuile goes to say something else, but you've already walked away before she could.
Instead, you focus your energy at the man sitting at the table. It takes almost all the willpower to not slam his smiling face into the table.

"Ahoy." You sit down across from him. "Aye couldn't help but notice yer interest in us."
He crosses his arms. "Oh?"

"Yargh." You pound your fist on the table. "So why dun ye start talkin' before I start shootin'?

"That would be unfortunate." He adjusts his voice, "How about this instead, you tell me some things, and I'll tell you some things."

>"How about aye slap your shit?"
>"Fair's fair. What things might these be"
>"Wait, why're ye think you have any kinda leverage over me?"
>Punch him.

To be fair, I'm running REALLY SLOWLY today. I've had a rough day and it's really hurting response time.

I have about thirty minutes left to run so next post might even be the last. Uh oh. You guys deserve threads that are longer than four posts.

Again, apologies.

Oops sorry I'm late to the party.

I approve of our decisions, at least.
>>
>>39816413
>If you're the one that's working for what's kidnapping these people, why wouldn't we just bring you out of what's keeping you alive from a beating?

AKA if he's the bad guy, threaten him with death.
>>
>>39816592
>>39816575
Why do you guys want to tell him anything?
Just threaten to take him outside of this whole anti-death shield thing and face the wrath of multiple heroes.
>>
>>39816724
Ah crap.
Well, ok, hopefully we can get some satisfying threats going.
And not let this jackass be so fucking SMUG, I hate enemies who are smug.
>>
>>39816792
...Heroes do have power outside of the barrier, right?
>>
>>39816943
Yeah, they do.
Only thing that might screw with a hero's power is not sleeping near whoever summoned them, from the looks of it.
>>
>>39816943
Yes. Come to think of it, I don't know if it makes any difference for them, since they don't benefit from the whole turning into a fluffball instead of getting hurt thing to begin with.
>>
>>39817096
So really, threatening the guy with taking him outside and applying violence to face seems like a good start.
>>
>>39817156
Violence to the face is always the best solution to fluffy smugness.
>>
>>39817261
Indeed. If the tail or ears are not on a pretty lady, then we punch it. And if punching doesn't work we stab, and If THAT doesn't work we shoot it.
>>
>>39817286
and when all of those dont work you tie cannonballs on to them and throw them overboard.
>>
>>39817286
Listen, we're a pirate.
I think you've got stabbing and shooting backwards.
>>
You snort, trying to suppress a laugh over his empty threat.
"You really think you hold any kinda leverage over me?"

His gaze softens, maybe he realizes his bluff was called out?

"I'll tell you what I do hold. The barrier."
You look at him and very flatly state your intentions.
"Yar, and if ye don't tell me what I'm lookin' for right now, I'm gonna take you outside of it and apply violence to yer face."

"That would be very difficult." He says, "So you have noticed that the barrier is unnaturally far north."
"Where ye goin' with this?"

"That's because the barrier here is being created by the town. There wasn't one here before, because there were no people here before."

You're not sure how the mechanics of any of it works. Nor do you really care right now.
"What's yer point."
"The point is." He takes two cups out and a bottle of liquor. "Konditorei is now the first nation on Flonyard with its own specialized barrier."

He slides one of the cups over to you. "Which means, we get to control when it works, and when it doesn't. Or even how it functions. Please think about that before your next move. You may even convene with your friends if you need to think about it for a minute."

No barrier.
Or even a barrier that is actively working against you.
What would that mean?

Thanks for the thread everyone. Apologies that it's right on the edge of Dog Days only convening for once a week.

Thanks for running there Announcer, quite the cliffhanger you've put us on.

I am sad now.

>>39817489
This is troubling. We may have to postpone punching this jackass' smug face into the consistency of skittles until this is resolved.

Thanks for running, Announcer.
>>
Okay, so in next thread, can it start with us just beating him up. I mean, we can lift that table and bash him over the head right? It's what a pirate would do...right?
>>
Announcer, question.
Can we just bring him out and make him piss himself in terror as he's outside of the barrier?
Because I don't want him to keep being smug, I want some fucking begging for mercy as he's facing multiple heroes.

MORE than that, I want to then do it to that fuckass prince, and I'm really moving towards killing that shithead.
>>
>>39817732
I want threats.
We're a fucking pirate, I want us to tell him things we're going to do to him that literally makes him piss himself.
>>
So next one is Tuesday, right?
>>
>>39817527
That's fine, will it be Tuesdays or Thursdays?
