You are Giles, Master Thief, tailor extraordinaire, and professional pretty-okay brother.

Your job has taken another interesting turn, as you’ve now gone from house guest to escort.

This morning, Melissa posed an odd question to you. You aren’t quite sure why she wants an “open relationship”, but she seems pretty bent on it.

After that , you chatted with Marcy and Laura on the way to the main hall. There you had a dance with the cutest little partner.

Unfortunately your dance was cut short by the arrival of Cassandra, and the risen dead that she brought with her…

The fires of war rise and dance on the whim of a Devil.
Will you extinguish them before they spread, or let them grow into a conflagration to consume the world?

“Say hello to your loved ones! They have come back to you with a grand purpose!” Cassandra shouts over the rush of screams. “The end of your petty rebellion, say goodbye!”

As Cassandra finishes her tirade, the spectres take on physical form and go to draw their weapons.
The ones nearest to you don’t get that chance.

Once the spectres take physical form they become wights, which are technically alive. The one weakness of the spell is that the spirits must become vulnerable to become useful.

It’s not much of a weakness, but it’s all you’ve got. The book you read didn’t exactly go in depth…

You twirl your cane and switch your grip, clubbing the nearest wight before it can get its weapon out.

Another comes at you from your left. You twist around him, bringing your offhand up to the wight’s head and jamming your enchanted dagger into its temple.

Instead of removing it, you kick the wight into a group of its buddies.

“Night Shell!” You say, evoking the enchantment and trapping 5 wights inside the barrier. Nothing in, nothing out. You can deal with them once the rest are done with…

You look around to make a quick assessment of the situation. Marcy and the King are fending off the brunt of the assault, and you can see Laura behind them focusing magic into… is that a chair leg? Well, in a pinch it would do. Anything can be enchanted, crystal just holds it better.

You’ve lost sight of Klaus’s wight in the commotion, and you can’t see any of the others through the crowds of people trying to get away.

Castle Harthren is not without its garrison, which will be quick to respond to this. But they’ll have trouble getting through the crowds to actually assist you right now.

With that in mind…

You lock eyes with Marcy for a moment, and she nods to you. That’s all you needed.

You whip around and shove your way through the crowd to where you left the others. As you pass through, you notice a familiar head of red hair.

“Melissa!” You say.
“Giles? What the hell is going on?” She asks.
“Come with me, I’ll explain in a minute” You say.

You take her hand and continue to shove through the crowd until you reach its edge. There are more wights out here, far more. Just how many of these fuckin’ things did she bring?

Most of them look like guards from the Palace in Analask, but there are some that look like commonfolk.

You tackle Melissa to the ground as a wight goes flying towards you.

That wight didn’t jump at you… it was thrown. You look around and spot Dalen hefting an entire table, swinging it about and battering anything that tries to get too close. Cedric is doing something similar with a chair, while Eleanor holds Selene and tries to keep her calm.

Without hesitating, you toss a flurry of knives at several wights that attempt to flank the group. Then you move in to assist them at close range.

“Giles! Where the hell did these things come from?” Dalen asks.
“Cassandra brought them. She’s past the crowd with Marcy and the King.” You say.
“That woman brought these…” Cedric says. “I knew some of these guys. She’ll damn well pay for this!”

He wants revenge now, just wait until he sees who else is here…

“The three of you, stand close together” You say, drawing another dagger with ‘Night Shell’ on it. “Now, I’m gonna turn the lights out for a bit. It’ll be dark, but just remember: you’ll be completely safe”

“What’s going on?” Selene asks.
“Hush dear. Everything is going to be okay” Eleanor says.
“Do it, we’ll be fine” Melissa says.

“I promise I’ll come back and set you guys free as soon as we’ve cleared things up out here” You say, evoking the enchantment and handing the dagger to Melissa. Then you step out of range while the shell forms.

“Y’know, promising someone you’ll return from a fight is a sure way to get yourself killed in said fight” Dalen says.
“I’ll live” You say. “At the very least, I intend to outlive Cassandra”
“Well said” Dalen says. “You’re going back in there, then?”

You nod.
“Then Cedric and I will hold down the fort here, and try to see as many of these people safely away as we can” He says.

You tip your hat to him, and run back towards the crowd. Pushing your way through is a bit harder this time, since you’re pushing against the rush. But you make it through.

The scene here is about the same as it was before. Even the number of wights doesn’t seem to have gone down.

No… there are new ones here. You can see that there are more than a few corpses, and wights to match them. Just how in the hell is she managing all of this?

Speaking of Cassandra, you see her. Her eyes are closed, and she looks like she’s focusing on a crystal…

You run silently, ducking around the wights as you approach Cassandra.

You move in low, cane poised to stab up through her chin. You get close and-… she’s gone.

No, not gone. You somehow passed her. But you didn’t pass her…

You turn around as quickly as you can and dodge to the side as a wave of dark energy blows past you.

“Tsk tsk. Trying to interrupt me when I’m concentrating?” She asks. “It’s like you don’t even want me to keep summoning these things”

She smiles at you, and all the wights you can see turn their attention to you…

You step back and move into the stance that Marcy taught you, and then you whistle.

The first wight that comes towards you gets an unexpected stab through the eye, but the rest don’t falter.

You take down one, then another, and another. Then you take your first hit, and a second. There are way too many of these for you to handle on your own.

Then as things start to look very grim, back up arrives in the form of Kuma dropping from the ceiling. Her long black ponytail trailing behind her as she plants an elbow into the back of a wight’s neck.

“Took you long enough” You say.
“Yes, entering the hall unseen with all these people around was quite time consuming” Kuma replies, bowing before you and quickly standing up and taking in her surroundings.

“I had thought that the brotherhood betrayed us” Cassandra says.
“We betrayed no one, for we were never truly yours” Kuma replies, her honouen looking (read: Asian) face remaining neutral.

“It matters little” Cassandra says. The crystal in her hand turns black. “Your order will soon be dust, just like this castle”

The black orb fires another wave of dark energy, forcing both you and Kuma to roll away from it.

Then Cassandra fires again at Kuma, and again, and again. Kuma dodges the blasts desperately. You don’t know what those things do when they hit, but you don’t think that taking one head on is the best way to find out…

Then you see the game Kuma is playing. She’s maneuvering herself so Cassandra turns her back to you, and it’s working.

You rush up behind Cassandra, and like last time you somehow end up on the other side. But you’re prepared for it this time. Instead of attempting to strike in front of you, you start into a twist at around the point where you were ‘teleported’ last time.

Cassandra doesn’t expect this, and you crack her right across the jaw with your cane. You can feel bones breaking as you connect, and her jaw hangs limply afterward.

Cassandra glares at you as she reaches up and realigns her jaw with a sickening snap, and then she smiles. “It seems like I’ve been far too soft on you” She says. “That must change”

“Master, behind you!” Kuma shouts.

You loose a dagger at Cassandra to keep her busy for a moment and turn around.

Just in time to block a knife that would have gone into your back. A knife held by Klaus.

You freeze. You know you shouldn’t. You know that if you don’t do something Klaus will try to stab you again, or you’ll end up getting blasted in the back by Cassandra, but that doesn’t stop you.

Klaus was 14 when he died, and he looks exactly like he did back then. Right down to the marks left by the injuries that caused his death…

Klaus winds his hand back, and you can feel the black magic behind you.

“UWHHHHOOOAAAAA” You hear a familiar voice shout. And then Klaus is sent flying by a table. A table that is also flying.

Then you find yourself on the ground as a wave of darkness flies over your head.

“Master, are you unharmed?” Kuma asks.
“I’m… fine” You say.

Kuma rolls off of you and gets to her feet in one fluid motion, then helps you to your feet.

“Aww… and here I was hoping to play a while longer” Cassandra says.

You turn to face her, only to see her fading away.

“Until next time” She says.

“My assistant. I’ll explain later.” You say.

With the civilians safely away, the castle guard is moving in. It won’t be long before the wights are dealt with…

But that last thing Cassandra said worries you…

“Kuma” You say.
“Yes master?” She asks.
“Go and inform your brothers about what happened here” You say.

“Go. I’ll be fine. They need to know that Cassandra knows you’re working for me” You say.

Kuma hesitates, but eventually she bows and disappears into the throng.

“Master? What the hell have you been up to?” Cedric asks.
“No time. There’s something I need to check” You say.

You move through the crowd to where you left the ladies under your Night Shell. It looks undisturbed, but you still have a bad feeling.

You prepare for the worst, and release the Night Shell.

And you’re immediately assaulted by an ear piercing shriek that’s so loud it forces you to cover your ears.

The source of the shriek is a hideous creature, with 5 bat-like wings, 3 arms, one leg, and several tendril-like appendages with blades on the end of them. On its face there are 4 mouths, but no eyes or a nose.

A Demon.

Lying in the ground around it are the ladies you left in the shell. There is a lot of blood, but it looks like they’re all still breathing.

You have to help them. But first you have to deal with this thing.

You throw a dagger at the Demon and try to close in.

The Demon swats the dagger away and responds by throwing its own projectile. It jams one of its tendrils into Melissa’s stomach and whips her around before releasing her at you.

You stop your charge and try to catch Melissa but she bowls you over, sending you both skidding across the ground.

You gently push Melissa off of you and stand up just in time to catch Selene who was similarly tossed at you.

“I NAME YOU BELIAL ND SEND YOU TO THE ABYSS!!!” You hear Laura scream.

The demon recoils in fear, as an arrow strikes it in the ‘head’ and bursts into flames. It thrashes around for a few seconds before collapsing.

“Selene! Oh gods please!” Laura says, rushing over to you and taking Selene. Laura lays the child on the ground. “Still breathing… but…”

You pull the small glass phial out of your cloak and open it.

The Water of Life is the only thing you can think of that would be useful here. The Sparrow stole it from the Spires of Erasti. The legend goes that those spies were built around a pond that was full of the stuff.

But the pond dried up, and this is supposed to be the last of its water…

As subtly as you can, you put a drip onto the spot where the Demon impaled Selene so it could throw her, then you do the same to Melissa.

“Giles… what did you do?” Laura asks, wide eyed and breathless.
“Shh… I’ll explain later” You say.

You’ve had to say that a lot today. You aren’t really sure what you’ll do when it comes time to actually make good on all these things.

You make sure that they’re going to be alright, and you put the phial back into your cloak. It doesn’t look like anyone saw that, and if they did they aren’t saying anything right now.

You flop down onto your butt and breathe a sigh of relief. It seems that the battle is over, for now.

But what Cassandra did here might as well guarantee that there’s going to be a war…

“You good to keep watch on these two?” You ask Laura.
Laura looks up at you, like you snapped her out of some very deep thought. “Yes… sure” She says.

You nod to Laura, and run back to where the Night Shell was. Though it seems that Cedric beat you here.

“Giles, what the hell happened?” Cedric asks. “I thought they were supposed to be safe in there!”
“They were” You say. “I’m not quite sure how that happened. Is she alright?”
“Yeah… for now. What about Melissa and Selene?” He asks.
“They’ll live. They’ll hurt quite a bit when they wake up, but they’ll live.” You say.

Eleanor looks more than a little beaten up, but nothing looks life threatening. You’d rather not use the Water of Life excessively, as there’s not much and it’s supposed to be a secret.

“What the hell is that lady’s deal?” Cedric asks. “What the hell was the point of all this?”
“I think she wanted war” You say. “And I’d wager that she’s got it now”

You fill Cedric in about what you saw and heard before she released the spectres.

“So she brought back their heads?” Cedric asks.

“You sit tight, okay? I’m going to see what’s happening now” You say.
“Alright, you know where to find me” Cedric replies.

You turn and walk away. It seems like Cedric is holding up pretty well considering everything that’s happened. That will probably change when you tell him whose spectre you saw…

You find Marcy arguing with someone who looks to be a healer.

“No, I told you I can handle it” Marcy says.
“Sir… You’re bleeding quite a bit. I am going to have to take you back to the infirmirary” The healer says.

You look around again. The wights have been cleared out, all but the ones inside your Night Shell. There is now a large number of medics and healers moving about.

“Trust me, I’ve dealt with wounds like this before. Just let me go back to my room and I’ll deal with it myself” Marcy says.

The healer is obstinate, but you can’t really tell why Marcy is refusing until you get closer. You can see a pretty nasty cut on her lower abdomen, going down over her left leg. If they wanted to patch that up, they’d have to take her pants off… you can see why she doesn’t want help now…

“Ouch” You say.
“Tell me about it.” She says. “I could’ve sworn that was it, but here I am. What about you?”
“What about me, what?” You ask.
“You ever gotten hurt like that?” She asks.
“Well, not really. The only two times I can remember off hand are Catisse and the Red Night, but you saw those injuries and you know about the other.” You say.

“I find that hard to believe” She says.
“I tend to avoid direct combat. I’m usually a lot more successful than I’ve been recently” You say.
“You know, you never did say what you used to do” She says.

“A procurer of goods” You say.
“Shouldn’t have asked, I figured you’d give the canned answer” She says.
“But more seriously, I used to be a bit of an adventurer” You say.
“Really?” Marcy asks.

“Yeah. I’ve been all over the place” You say.
“Doing what?” She asks.
“Shady dealings” You say. “Why the sudden curiosity?”

“Not sure. I guess it’s because you’re the one person that I actually need to trust, and I realised that I know next to nothing about you” She says.

“You know I’m spoken for… right?” You ask.
“I’d punch you, but I don’t think that much movement would be good for me right now.” She says. “I’ll do it when I’m patched up.”

“Glad to see you in good spirits” You say as you reach her room.

Marcy hands you her key. It’s a little bloody, but you ignore that fact.

You bring Marcy in and put her down on the bed.
“Okay, help me get my pants off” She says.
“What?” You ask.
“Help me get…” She lowers her voice. “My pants off… I can’t really do it myself, it hurts like hell to bend like that right now…”

Okay, don’t panic. Marcy isn't interested in you, and even if she was, you’re taken.

This is completely non-sexual, which it is. And even if it wasn’t, you don’t feel so nervous. Maybe all that time spent ‘exploring the female anatomy’ with Melissa has made you a bit less shy.

“Yeah, gotcha” You say, leaning over and working her pants down.

Marcy puts an arm over her eyes as you bare her lower half. You leave her top half mostly clothed for the sake of her dignity.

“How bad is it?” She asks.
“Not too bad. You have medical stuff?” You ask.
“In my bag” She says.

You walk over to her bag until you find a fair sized pouch that you recognize as her first-aid kit and pull it out. Then you walk back and set out the tools you’ll need.

Marcy walks you through the process of stitching, since you aren’t really familiar with it. Once it’s closed up, you wrap a bandage around the wound (with some difficulty, as it’s in an awkward spot) and step back.

“There, all finished” You say.
Marcy sits up slowly. “Ow… owwwww… fuck… thanks again. I don’t know how I would’ve managed this by myself”
“Not a problem. Us guys have to stick together after all” You say.
Marcy looks surprised for a second, then she laughs. “Yeah, I guess we do” She says.

You help Marcy put on a fresh pair of pants and leave her a fresh shirt. “Alright, you can go now” She says.
“You sure?” You ask.
“I’m fine now, but I think I could use some rest” She says. “And you’re probably still worried about everyone else. Sorry for dragging you out here”
“No problem. When do you think you’ll be up and about?” You ask.
“Give it a couple hours. I won’t be walking comfortably, but I’ll be on my feet” She says.

“Sleep well Marcy” You say.
“I’ll try.” She says.

You wave to her as you exit the room.

It’s not hard to find your way back to the main hall. All you have to do is follow the trail of blood drops.

You hope she didn’t lose too much blood. She looked kinda pale without her clothes. But then, her nethers don’t really see the light of day all that often…

See, now you’re thinking things you shouldn’t. Off the subject of Marcy’s nethers.

When you reach the hall you find the people within starting to clean the place up. One corner appears to have become the ‘medical’ corner, and they’ve laid the dead down by the far wall.

Your Night Shell is still standing strong though. Cedric and Laura are sitting together, and though they’re still laying down Melissa, Selene and Eleanor seem to be awake.

You walk over to where the group is.
“Glad to see you’re awake” You say.
Melissa smiles weakly. “Your damn shell didn’t work” She says.

You sit down at her side and put a hand on hers. “I know… how do you feel?” You ask.
“Like I’ve been trampled by a herd of cattle” She says.
“What happened in there?” You ask.
“We were all huddled together under your thing, and suddenly there was something else in there with us” She says. “That’s all I remember. I know now that it was a demon… but at the time…”

“Where do you think it came from?” Laura asks.
“I don’t know.” You say.

“Cassandra knew it was there” You say.
“How?” Laura asks.
“Not sure.” You say. “There is too much we don’t know about that woman”

“There’s too much we don’t know about everything” Laura says sadly.
“Laura, it’s not your fault” Melissa says.
“I should’ve seen it coming… we never should have come to Harth in the first place” Laura says.
“You couldn’t have known that King Julian was planning on trading you for his son” Cedric says.

“Cedric, Giles? Could you stay here and keep an eye on Selene for me?” Laura asks.
“Why?” Cedric asks.
“I’m going to have a few words with my uncle” She says.

“Hold off on that for a bit” You say.
“Why?” Laura asks.
“Because I want to go with you, I just need to deal with that first” You say, pointing to the Night Shell.

“What’s in there anyway?” Laura asks.
“Wights. I trapped a bunch of them inside when the fight first started” You say.
“You want help with that?” Cedric asks.
“I should be good. I’ll get the guard to give me a hand.” You say. “I need you to stay here and keep an eye on these three”

“Gotcha” Cedric says.

You and Laura walk away and flag down someone you think is a guard captain.

“You in charge here?” You ask.
“Not entirely, but I’m in command of most of these men. Why?” The captain says.
“I trapped a bunch of those wights in that black shell over there and I’m gonna release them” You say.

“Understood” He says, signaling for a group of guards to join you.

You go with the guards to where the Shell is, and release it. The guards make quick work of the wights within.

One of the wights in the shell was Debra, three of the others were guards from Analask. But you don’t recognize the last one…

“That’s Marcellus’s…” Laura says.
“You know who that is?” You ask.
Laura nods with a concerned look. “That’s Marcellus’s father…” She says. “And Debra… and these are all Palace guards. What is going on?”

>[1/2]
>>
“Your parents were here too” You say.
“I knew that my parents were dead, and I saw them in the fray. I personally put them to rest. But Marcellus… his family has nothing to do with this! Why would that woman go out of her way to kill his father?”

“Maybe they brought his parents in when we escaped, to see if the news would reach us and entice us to return and rescue them” You say.
“I don’t think that’s it…” Laura says.

“Then Cassandra was hoping to get under our skin” You say.
Laura sighs. “I hate to admit it, but I think you’re right. Bringing Louis’s head and throwing it to the ground in front of the King, and bringing the wights in the first place… even going out of her way to find the people we love…” She says.

“She’ll get hers” You say.
“She damn well will. But that can happen after we talk to the King” Laura says, turning and walking off in the direction of the exit.

“We’ll have to tell Cedric and Eleanor that their mother is dead at some point, and Marcy too” You say.
“That can wait as well.” She says. “We’ll do it somewhere less public.”

“Good idea” You say.

“And thanks for killing that Demon, by the way” You say.
“It was my da-“ Laura stops in her tracks and straightens up. “It was my sister that it impaled and used as a damn projectile. I wasn’t about to let that stand” She says. “Besides you can’t kill demons, can you?”

“I can’t?” You ask.
“To kill a demon you have to name it first, and then fate does the rest remember?” She says. “But you… you know… don’t fall under that…”
“Oh… well, no. I think I could have managed that. It just caught me off guard, that’s all” You say.
“You think so?” She asks.
“Yeah. I mean, it was intimidating and all, but it dies just like any other creature right?” You say.

“I guess that’s true” She says.

The two of you walk in silence for a bit longer, but Laura speaks up again.

You pull the small phial from your cloak. “It’s the Water of Life” You say.
Laura looks confused, but the realization dawns on her. “You mean THE Water of Life?” She asks.
You nod and put it back before someone sees it.

“But that was taken by-…” She stops. “Oh… No… You couldn’t be… That was taken by The Sparrow”

You check around to see if anyone is within earshot, then you look Laura straight in the eyes.

“Yes” You say.

Laura’s jaw hangs open. It’s not until she regains her composure that she speaks. “Does anyone else know?” She asks.
“About that? No.” You say. Technically Melissa only knows that you’re the Gambler.
“Do you… have any way to contact the others?” She asks.
“The other you-know-whats?” You ask.
Laura nods.
“Kind of.” You say. “I could try, but I doubt the Gambler would be willing to part with his prize”
“Were the two of you working together that night?” She asks.
“No. In fact I planned to nick the damn thing myself, but the lucky bastard beat me to it” You say.

“I see…” She says.
“You… you can keep this between us, right?” You ask.
“Absolutely!” She says. “It’s your business who knows your secrets and when they find out.”
“Thank you” You say.
“No, thank you… for sharing…” She says.

The two of you smile at each other as you reach the King’s office.

The King is definitely inside, and you can hear him talking to the queen about something.

From the sounds of it, the Queen wasn’t too pleased that he even considered the trade with Cassandra.

You look back at Laura.

No sooner is she in the room than she has her arms around her aunt.
“It’s not your fault Auntie…” She says.
“Laura, when did you…?” Georgia asks.
“You weren’t eavesdropping, were you?” Julian asks.

“I hardly think that you’re one to be making accusations right now” You say.
“And what would you know of it?” He asks.

“I would like to talk to you” You say. “In private”
Laura gets your drift. “Come on, let’s go somewhere else” She says, helping the Queen back to her feet and leading her out of the office.

You’re glad that Laura trusts you enough to let you handle this.

“Listen.” You say. “I personally risked life and limb more than once to see Laura and Selene safely here, because I thought that this was a safe place”

The King remains silent.

“Did you honestly expect that they would return your son to you?” You ask.
“No. I made that agreement hoping they would, but now look where it’s gotten me” He says.

“So what else have your fateseers seen?” You ask.
“Nothing of this, I assure you. But… they’ve been inaccurate of late.” He says.
“Which means…” You say.
“Which means that fate has been thrown off course. Things are happening now that should not be happening. I fear that there are foul things at work.” He says.

“But if Fate has been thrown off, perhaps there is a chance for you to win this war after all” You say.
“Those are blasphemous words indeed” He says. “I would have you thrown into the dungeons if I hadn’t had the same thoughts when I first considered this war”

“If you’d like, I could offer you my services as a spymaster of sorts” You say.
“You have access to spies?” He asks.
“Of sorts, yes.” You say. “And I’d be willing to put them to work for your cause, on one condition”
“What’s that?” He asks.
“I do not work for you.” You say.

“So what would be the purpose of making you my spymaster then?” He asks.
“I would still feed you information, and do my best to disrupt your enemies. But I do so of my own volition, and on my own terms” You say.

The King reaches out a hand. “I’ll accept your terms” He says.

“I came as quickly as I-“
“Shhhhh.” You say, pulling out an enchanted dagger. “Silence”

The strange quiet that the spell brings fills the room. “Continue” You say.
“I came as quickly as I could” Kuma says, kneeling before you.

“You got your message off then?” You ask.
“I did” She says.
“Give me your report” You say.
“I have received some intercepted letters and commands from the assassins.” She says, handing you a small stack of papers.

You accept the thin stack. “There’s not much here” You say.

“Hey there, what happened to getting some rest?” You ask.
“Couldn’t sleep. Too much going on, I guess” She says.

“I wondered about that too, but there’s no way. I checked him. He was gone. Even his wight didn’t look a day older than he did when he died” You say.

“So there’s only one explanation” She says. “You think it might just be chance?”

She has a friend.

It seriously isn't her fault.

“It’s not your fault” You say.
“I know that… but I can’t help it. I just…”
“You know who’s at fault here. It’s the one who came here with those spectres, and the one who set her loose.” You say. “And if they want to get under our skin, we’ll show them just how tough we can be”

“That sounded lame” She says.
“It wasn’t supposed to be cool” You say. “It was supposed to be inspiring”
“I don’t feel inspired” She says.

“Do you at least feel a little better?” You ask.
“A little, but not much” She says. “I think I might need to go back to my room again”
“What am I, a damn servant?” You ask.
“You are now. Get moving, manservant” She says.

You smirk and help her back to her feet. “So have I not seen the real you yet or something?” You ask.
“What? Oh!” She says. “I guess you count”
“That hurts Marcy. After all we’ve been through, you’re just gonna put me down like that?” You ask.
“I’m sorry, okay?” She asks. “If you ever find out that your parents have been killed, you can feel free to insult me too”

“I did not mean to say it like that” She says.
“I get what you meant, but damn.” You say. “If I was more sensitive, I’d be crying right now”

“If you were more sensitive we wouldn’t be having this conversation” She says.
“Fair point” You reply.

You reach Marcy’s room and unlock the door. The key doesn’t have blood on it anymore, which is good news.

You help Marcy down onto her bed, and she winces in pain when she has to move her injured leg.

“I could get Laura to make some enchanted bandages for that” You say.
“That would be very much appreciated” She says. “After I’ve slept”
“Gotcha. How long do you think that will be?” You ask.

Marcy shrugs. “I’ll come out when I feel ready, or hungry” She says.
“I can have food sent up here if you like” You say.
“Oh…” She says. “then I’ll be coming out when I feel rested. You’re sure being helpful”
“I am your servant now, after all” You say.

“That was a joke.” She says. “But if you feel like waiting on me hand and foot, I won’t argue”
“I’ll pass.” You reply. “Just helping out a friend in need”

You tuck Marcy in and make your way out of the room.

“Thanks for everything Giles” She says. “I never thought I’d be glad that someone discovered my secret”
“I try my best” You say. “Sleep well”

You exit the room and close the door behind you.

Okay, one sad revelation down; one, technically two to go.

You look out the window and see that the sun is still going strong in the sky. All this has happened and the day isn't even close to being over.

Well… at least it can’t get worse.

That's all for tonight. I hope you guys still enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it!

Next thread will probably be tomorrow, at around the same time as this one.

As always I'll be sticking around if anyone has questions/suggestions.

Thanks for running again Smiley.

I've been curious for a while if what Laura said about Giles not being able to name something was true or not (Prior to her actually bringing it up here) is that a thing that anyone actually knows?
>>
>>39863022
Good thread, as always! The hateboner for Cassandra has been stroked, and the course has been set.
>>
>>39863022
Thanks for running.

Will we ever get to attend a ball that ends with nice things?
>>
>>39863070
She was talking about the fact that Giles can't kill demons in the traditional way. Even if he were to name it, someone else would end up killing it, so it was foolish of him to try.

You would have taken the fucker down if the dice hadn't shit on you
>>
>>39863138
was there any chance of actually harming the damn bitch? cause if we just phase through her what is the damn point, cause at this point it look like she has the rule bending power of plot
>>
>>39863613
You did manage to harm her though.

She might have shrugged it off, but you did break her jaw.
>>
>>39863696
From the way she reacted, it seemed like that may have been one of the rare times, maybe the first, that she's ever been hurt.
>>
>>39863696
explain how the deamon was summoned
>>
>>39863022
I just realized something
Is Cassandra fate in disguise?
>>
>>39864042
Demons don't get summoned, they just kinda show up from time to time.

The chance of one appearing within your night shell was astronomical, but it wasn't zero.
>>
>>39864213
but they apparently can be controlled
>>
>>39864687
Who says anyone was controlling it?
>>
>>39864778
so you are expect me to believe that this "demon" pop right exactly in the place of 3 powerless characters and not be controlled? How else are you going to force something into existence at a specific spot
Unless Selene is a demon magnet or just a semen demon
