After managing to produce a magical-detection nullifying Blackout in Osataka, Makoto finds himself attempting to keep Mai Aihara busy whilst his friends retrieve the magical powers that had been locked away by Robo. Unfortunately, this distraction came in the form of the insane idol-trainer, Romi Saito; Aoi Saito's mother. Whether you can beat her in the school competition will have to wait; for now, you'll have to survive HER...

You are Makoto Kiryoka; a teenage boy with a penchant for getting into strange situations. You bear the power of the magical girl Maiden White against the wicked souls that seek to terrorise the innocent.

> My attention might be elsewhere during this session (writing stuff for uni but still wanted to run today). Hopefully won't be a big issue.

You can barely feel your legs anymore, lying on your side with a sweat-covered brow and exasperated lungs. Normally this might be the result of a regular, semi-intense workout for you, but the eighteen other girls in a similar state suggest this not to be a result of your lack of physique.

"Come on!" Romi snaps, planting a foot against the floorboards of the gym. "Barely thirty minutes and you're all floored? What a bunch of lazy twits..." She growls, leering at your group. Romi, the newest source of pain and suffering for you, put you and the other idol girls through the ringer just a few moments ago with her own brand of physical endurance training. You've stretched muscles you barely knew you had, and it feels like she's barely even gotten started.

"I thought... you were... an idol trainer." One girl complains in between her gasps for air, wobbling to her feet. Some others manage to follow suite and regain their footing but you're still having some troubles. Mai is up, probably one of the lesser exhausted of the group, and she hasn't said a word for the entire training period. But then neither have you, unless shrieks of pain count.

"I am an idol trainer... amongst other things." Romi coughs. She slaps her thigh and points to the girls. "I thought I explained this before but apparently you're deaf as well as weak. If you want to project your spirit through your music, your body needs to be perfectly designed for it. It needs to flow and breathe, perfectly in sync with your every command. Fail even once; miss a beat, make a wrong move, and it'll be ruined. Then the only thing you'll be standing in front of is a firing sq- er, m-managerial council." She coughs again. You get the feeling her body might be here, but her mind is still in some kind of boot camp.

"Well... can't we do some kind of dance or song thing? Anything related to performing?" A girl on her knees asks. Romi groans and taps her foot.

[1/2]
>>
>>39852017

"...Hm, I had planned *that* for later," she mumbles to herself, looking over the group, "...Alright, everyone take a rest. I'll get this little 'performance piece' ready." She says with a smile, sending a sinister chill down your spine as she turns about face and leaves. Relieved to be free of her, if only for the moment, you splay out on the ground to rest your weary limbs. A lot of the other girls collapse to rest as well. You can't deny seeing those BITCHES from earlier getting worked through wasn't at least a little enjoyable at least.

"Gyhuh~" Mai gargles as she splashes herself with water from a bucket, resting on the right side of the room. Seeing her punished like this is a joy to you, but she seems to be taking it weirdly in stride. Mai doesn't even seem all that much more fit than you - she moved at a similar pace on the walk here - but for some reason she's holding it together more than you did. It could be some kind of magical thing but with the blackout on it's impossible to tell.

"I don't care, just pick me up out front." You hear one of the BITCHES say into a phone. "I'm telling you, she's no idol genius; she's just an insane freak! We're not getting anything out of this, so get here before she comes back, a'right?" She demands into the phone, shutting it afterwards.

"What a waste of time..." She sighs, sitting down. Damn, if Aoi were here to listen to this, you doubt he'd be adhering to that 'never hit a girl' rule for long. Still, listening to that call and noticing the lavishness of her phone, something strikes you. It hadn't occurred to you earlier, but most of these girls are probably already idols in their own right that came here to improve. Maybe they know what they're talking about when they say Romi is just crazy...

As much as the BITCHES get on your nerves, you just don't have the energy or the stamina to really deal with them right now. If they want to flake, that's their own business; and probably Romi's business, once she gets back. You'd say over half of the girls leave during the next few minutes, leaving less than ten, including Mai and yourself, still willing. Even the girls that stay behind don't look all that confident though. The thought to talk to Mai briefly crosses your mind, but you don't really want to waste the little breath you have left on her. She's not trying to talk to you, after all.

A few of the BITCHES suddenly appear at the door way and one dashes into the room quickly, searching around.

"Dammit, it as right here..." She mumbles, scanning around. Her eyes land on a phone lying on one of the benches and she quickly snatches it up with a sigh and walks towards the exit.

"Lets go, she could be back any second." One of the girls warns her friend.

"Less than that, actually." A voice freezes their blood for the second as you see Romi standing behind them, poised to strike. You didn't even see or hear her sneak up on them, but there she is. The BITCHES stare at her with their mouths agape, terrified as Romi plants her hands on the heads of the two girls near the exit, stroking them softly.

"Aw, you think you can leave~" She asks with a warm and fuzzy voice, smiling happily. This lands until she clutches their heads firmly and smacks them together, knocking both girls to the floor. "Not in my world. Come on ladies, destiny awaits. Lets MOVE!"

Romi shuttles the lot of you out like cattle - and you don't doubt she'd be using a prod if she could - out of the gym and through the halls towards... another gym?

"How many of these do you have?" One BITCH asks, exasperated.

"As many as I need." Romi answers confidently, opening the doors to this new gym. "This one is a bit of an oldie though, and I was waiting for you girls to be a little more advanced before I showed it to you." She elaborates, leading the lot of you in and switching on the lights. It's a similar design to the other room, with changing rooms on the opposite side, but what catchres your eye is the obstacle course/deathtrap that spans the entire room. It's elaborate, to say the least, consisting of climbing bars, break-away floors, spinning wooden pillars, and a swinging scythe blade!?

"Don't worry, it's plastic." She assures you, grabbing the scythe. It... it doesn't look plastic.

"Oh screw this!" One of the BITCHES shrieks, turning to run. Before she can make it a few feet, Romi practically appears ahead of her and slams her arm into her gut, knocking her back to the group.

"Oh no, I was weeding out candidates before, but now that I've got a good core group, the real training can begin."

"B-But I left, I'm not a core group person; I left when you were gone!" She points out. Her two friends insist they also tried to leave.

"But you came back, and that's what counts." Romi retorts, giving them the thumbs up. You can just FEEL their minds cracking. Romi lays a hand on the contraption before you.

"This device is a specialised course that will put you through the ringer, but if you can complete it without getting hit or being knocked down even once, then I'll consider you ready to be an idol." She asserts. Her fingers snap at a switch on the side and you can hear some machines start to work. "So.. who's first?"

Romi believes in breaking down the recruits into the base components and then rebuilding them.

This should be like a 8 week basic coarse where she beats them down to nothing then like another few months to rebuild them to proper idol hood.

If it is faster, must be magic.

"I..." You feel yourself step forward, but not entirely sure in why, "I-I'll go first." You say, putting a hand on your chest. You've been through some pretty stringent things in the past with your own mother- admittedly she never actually trained you, it was just fallout from her weirdness, but something about this course attracts you. If you can clear it flawlessly, even Romi would consider you a true idol; that's an attractive endorsement. Plus, it's not even all that long of a course, even you could last your way through something short but agile. This... this might be perfect for you!

"Hey, you can't just- I want to try it!" Mai asks, stepping up beside you not a few seconds before you tried to. You're wondering if she actually planned to go first or if she's just trying to show you up; she has been fairly genuine in this training but then she is still kind of a bitch. Romi blinks at the two of you and cracks up, laughing.

"Haha, oh man, never had any recruits VOLUNTEER to run this." She giggles, holding a hand in front of her mouth. The two of you wobble as she composes herself. "Hoo~ this is new. I like it." She smiles and points to the start of the course.

"Sorry Aihara, but Makoto here got the first shot in. You can run it when it spits the unworthy out." She says with a smirk. You frown and walk towards the start of the course, determined to beat this thing. "Alright, let's see what you got little man."

"Okay..." You say to yourself, looking down the course. You hear a beep as you step forward, depressing a plate under you foot. The starting buzzer, maybe? The first part seems to be a narrow beam that you cross carefully. Endurance is your weak-point but balance? Man, you've go that down. Maybe this isn't so-

*WHACK*

You stumble back as a flat... something- smacks you in the face from above. Not painful, but enough to knock the lights out of you from sheer blunt impact. You tumble back, off the beam, and crash into the floor below. What... what just happened.

"Urrk." Romi imitates a buzzer and gives you a thumbs down. "Good try though, hehe~" She says, you still reeling from the blow. You didn't even see it coming.

"Alright, Mai, you're up." Romi says, pushing her forward. She takes a similar stance to you, depresses the plate, and takes her run. She balances just as well as you, and from below you can see the mechanisms in the roof. A sort of spring-loaded pad on a stick swings down, aimed directly at the face. Mai, after seeing your failure, manages to duck under it. You growl as she sticks her tongue out at you.

"I wouldn't get cocky just yet." You hear Romi snicker. Mai blinks, then yelps as something smacks her from behind, sending her face-first into the ground next to you. Another spring-trap, you think as she writhes on the ground. Romi's holding her gut, enjoying herself. The other girls seem to be amused as well, watching the two of you fall on your asses. I guess you can laugh when you're not the one getting hit.

"Yeah, this thing's a riot alright!" Romi sighs, stepping up beside the two of you. "Kudos on your courage, but you need skill to back that up. Fancy another run?" She asks.

"Yes!" You immediately spit out, jumping back to your feet. Your eagerness surprises Romi for a second, but she quickly smiles at it. It seems like she might be harsh, and possibly insane, but when faced with an eager student she might actually warm up.

"Okay, let's see what you've got!" She commands, pointing to the track. This time, you think as you take up your position, this time you need to be careful. First a shot from the front, then from the back.

You're not quite sure what rope memorising a course over and over is going to prove- feels more like bashing your head against a wall, but she did say this course would make you an idol, so you have to try. Mai is nearby, just as eager to have her try as you. It's a battle of enthusiasm at this point, with a bunch of BITCHES laughing at the both of you when you fail.

Mai and Makoto end up hogging all the attempts until they pass out.

BITCHES end up never going and Romi turns up the difficulty since they never stepped forward on them.

Obviously this is about memorization, quick thinking, reflexes and adaption during stress and physical exertion.

Something that Idols do need.
>>
>>39853858

With determination - courtesy of that fisherman from the internet and his handy graphics - you step forward into the course. The balancing beam is simple, and you hold your own there. Once again, the spring-loaded pad comes to to smack you; faster than you'd be able to see, but you deftly dodge under it. The one from behind swings down, and you slide forward to avoid that one as well.

"Yes!" You think, clenching your fist. Another few springlocks swipe down just behind you and swing at empty space, surprising you, but luckily you had moved position on the beam earlier. They seem to move with a sort of slow, standard pace, so maybe dodging ahead is the key here. Finally, you pass the balancing portion and hit broad ground. There are some claps from the other girls, with mutterings of "Not so bad." and "I could do that." from them. Yeah, well you should have gone first, you think.

The next portion looks to be a series of small platforms, decreasing in surface area as they continue, above a pit of water. With a grunt, you hop to the first one, wobbling atop it. It's wide enough for you to stand, but as you hop to the next one, that area shrinks.

"Urk!" You grunt as you jump to the next. There's barely enough room to fit one foot on this, and you still have more to go. The last pole looks more like a spike than a foothold. You sigh, then hear something from behind you. The column footholds emit a 'SHUNK' as they slide into the ground, disappearing behind you.

"Oh come on!" You whine as you quickly start hopping from pillar to pillar. Your footing is impressive, and you make it two poles from the end before your footing disappears out from under you, and you tumble into the water below with a mighty splash. You spit and gag as you climb over the side of the pit, soaking wet and tired to a cacophony of giggling from the other girls. Just what kind of reflexes does this thing demand?

[1/2]
>>
>>39854363

"Hehe, nice try. You can dry off in the-" Romi points to the changing rooms on the opposite side, but is interrupted when you hear a buzzer. Glancing up, Mai is already dodging in a similar pattern to you, but faster. She crosses the balance beam and starts jumping the columns immediately, to give herself time. Unfortunately, they seem to start a timer as soon as you touch them, because they're disappearing at the same rate. She manages to get to you position and smiles to herself, leaping to the next one. Her foot hits it, but you see it skid off as it touches.

"AIGH!" She shrieks as she smacks against the side and falls into the pool.

"Oh right, the last two poles are coated in grease, so take care." Romi says as Mai resurfaces.

"W-What?" She asks. You're baffled as well. Balancing on those is hard enough already, but the last two have GREASE on the top!? That's... that's impossible, that's insane!

"Yeah, I figured it was a little too easy so I bumped up the difficulty for you guys." Romi admits, wiping her hands. "Wouldn't wanna disappoint such great candidates with an easy course." She smiles. Mai twitches and you stand in awe at her cruelty.

"Alright, go clean off. Misa, you're up." Romi says, pointing to the start of the course. One of the laughing girls suddenly stops and wobbles in her cute boots.

"B-But this dress can't get wet." She whines.

"Sure it can, just you wait!" Romi laughs, pulling her over to the course. You walk over to the changing and bathrooms whilst you hear the buzzer and shrieking behind you. In the washroom, you tug your wet clothes off and set them out on a bench, sighing. Dammit, this was Yui's uniform.

"Don't just let it air-dry." You hear Mai say, switching on a drier from the wall. "It'll get all stiff." She continues, as she dress down her own removed... shirt.

"Agh, no!" You say, fearing that worst possible outcome- RUINING CLOTHES. Oh, and a possible naked girl behind you, that too. Maybe it's due to your gender swapping, your own animosity towards Mai, or just that you're kind of used to stripping down in front of girls. It's not like Mai has a particularly big bustiture to begin with; she's basically flat, which is a source of great comfort for you. Man, if she could see the rack you sport in your Maiden White form. The look on her face~!

"Hey, can I use your drier?" You ask, turning around and holding out your hand. She might be a bastard, but she has things you need. Mai blinks and clicks the device off, turning towards you.

"I guess, but don't do anything evil to it. I still need to do my hai." She mutters, holding her now-dry shirt under her arm as she reaches for the latch of her skirt. You grab the drier and glance at her as she starts to strip off her skirt. Wow, you weren't just seeing things; she really has no breasts at all, she's flat as a board. As flat as you.

As a boy.

"...Huh?" You peep as you struggle to parse this. Even an A-cup should have something, she couldn't be this bad unless. Mai's skirt drops to the floor and you glance down at her lower half. She might not have any bulges on her chest, but you'd recognise that one down below.

"What's wrong, I thought you needed my drier?" She... s-she asks.

"EEK!" You shriek, balling your hands up. "A boy!" You squeal, hiding yourself. No, he'll see everything! You'll never be a bride now...

"Umm... aren't you one too?" Mai asks, staring at you with a slightly worried look. You blink in between tears and stare at her with a betrayed expression. You're...

"Oh." You say, glancing down at your own flat chest. "Right. Yes."

"You forgot?" She asks. He asks. You're confused.

"I-I switch a lot, okay!?" You say, crossing your arms as you cheeks burn with red embarrassment. "Sometimes it's hard to remember which one you're currently pretending to be."

"Hehe, yeah it can get confusing." She admits with a smile, scratching her cheek. "Wait, I thought you knew I was male?"

"...No?" You say, incredulously. "How could I? Every time I see you you're in girls clothing and using female pronouns!"

"Nearly every time I've seen you, you've been dressed as a girl." Mai shoots back, blankly.

"I..." You try to contrast her point... but she's right; apart from your first meeting on the bus, you've been constantly crossdressing recently. It suddenly occurs to you that it's hard to recall the last time you willingly put on male clothing without thinking about it.

You stew in the realisation for the moment as Mai smiles weirdly genuinely.

"Wait, so you couldn't tell at all?" She asks, hand at her hip. "Wow, I'm better than I thought! Even entirely convinced another trap that I was a girl. That's so cool~!" She adds with a smirk, hand at her chin. Somehow you feel like you've lost some kind of contest with her just now. You could totally convince people too, if you went to another city and dressed in cute clothes and pink hair.

"GAH!" No, bad thoughts, bad thoughts! You busy yourself with drying your clothes as you try not to plan a trip to out-trap Mai and instead focus on something else. How could Mai even be a boy? I mean, sure, she's flat as a board and a sucker for attention, probably likes cute things, she's Yui's oldest friend-

"Oh." You suddenly realise. Suddenly, things make perfect sense. Yui, just how many traps have you seeded the earth with?

Despite this revelation, you still mentally see Mai as a girl - no doubt a little preview of how people might deal with your own gender - and so decide to keep using female pronouns. They seem to make her happy as well, so you might as well be nice.

"So... uh, why do you dress as a girl? Unless you started off as one." You ask her, slipping your own shirt back on. She glances back at you, her rear facing you as she adjusts her socks. Don't look at her ass, don't look at her ass, don't look at her ass-

"No, I was a boy once. As for why, well that's... a little personal." She says, tossing her hairband from one hand to the other. "I guess I just feel more comfortable like this. I've been dressing as a girl probably longer than I've been dressing as a boy, after all." She admits.

"Yui. It was Yui wasn't it?" You state, and she flinches. "Yui. Yui Yui."

"Stop it." She says, snapping your lips shut with her fingers.

"Yri?" You mumble through your lips. You see her veins twitch.

"Yui... definitely played a big part in it." She sighs, releasing your mouth. "I don't know if she ever considered it before, but once I started, I think a switch clicked over in that head of hers." Mai recalls. The pervert switch, probably. You start tearing up and rub your eyes. "Hey, w-what's-"

"DAMMIT!" You shout, "I wanted to be the one that crossdressed with Yui originally!" You lament. A bead of sweat drops down Mai's exasperated face. "Hearing she was doing it with you first... I feel so dirty." You say, shivering.

"We never went any further, if that's what you're worried about. Not that I would have minded..." Mai assures you, clasping her hands together nervously. "Anyway, it doesn't matter now," She sighs, lowering her hands, "Yui still rejected me. I'm the one that's jealous of your relationship with her."

[1/2]
>>
>>39856645

"But you guys were doing it way back when." You say, frowning.

"Well, she's probably more experienced now! You're getting advanced Yui." Mai shoots back. "She always fumbled with laces with me."

"Lace? Oh, she loves that, sure." You say, holding out a hand. "Did she ever put you in a maid outfit?"

"All the time, would've gone to school in it if she had her way." Mai answers, chuckling. "Liked to have me sit on things too. Suggestive things~" She says, holding her cheeks and blushing.

"Ohh, she doesn't just make you sit on them anymore~" You giggle, bringing a finger to your lips. Mai gasps.

"No fair! I love getting it from behind!" She gasps.

"So do I!" You say. The two of you clasp your hands, eyes sparkling for a second, before you realise who the other person is and quickly break it off. "H-hentai."

"W-Wierdo." Mai grunts. Your argument(?) is cut short by a few drenched girls entering the room, spitting various complaints.

"That bitch- does she even know how much this costs!?" The girl in front says, holding up her dress.

"She greased that pole, there's no way to win..." Another one gasps. "She's just torturing us~"

You frown as you hear their complaints, and feel a wierd pressure at your back. You realise Mai is behind you, still trying to get dressed - you finished earlier - and is using you as cover. She... doesn't want to be seen by the other idols?

"Hey, you two." One of the girls say. You both freeze. "Hand me that drier, would you?" She points to the drier in Mai's hand. She hesitates, not sure what to do.

"Come on, chop chop." The girl says, snapping her fingers. "I'm drenched here." Given that you've figured out some of these girls are established idols, and that you'd never heard of any rumours about 'Mai-chan' being a boy, you think you understand what Mai's fear here is. They were already bagging her out for her songs and performance, no doubt finding out her gender would be another potent weapon. Hell, you could use it yourself, if you were that kind of person.

You snatch the drier from Mai's hands and walk forward to hand it over, surprising her. You're not that kind of person though; you don't do 'whatever it takes', you do what you think is right to help others, even if you don't enjoy it. Because that's justice, to you at least. You push the drier into her wet chest.

"Here, enjoy." You tell her, crossing your arms.

"Uh, thanks." She says, taking it. "You were the girl who jumped out first, right? The Getter Ranger-girl?"

"Yeah?" You ask, raising an eyebrow.

"Heh," you cross your arms, "Yeah, I guess you could say that. I don't mind making a fool of myself, because sometimes you can learn from it, and even have fun." You say back to her, "After all, if I never went first, you'd probably have never learnt to get past the balancing beam- and would never have gotten yourself wet. Unless, you made a fool of yourself all on your own?" You point out. She tries to retort but doesn't have anything to say on that; she just growls at you with her teeth shut. Damn you feel good.

"I'll tell you what, I'm surprised you can say such things to my face but can only badmouth Mai behind her back." You tell her. She flinches at that, and you notice Mai turn her head - now fully dressed.

"I honestly don't know what you're on about." She sighs, flicking her hair back.

"Oh I think you do." You say, clenching your fist. "Back when we were performing, you and your little goons there had nothing but insults and scorn for Mai, even though she was performing her heart out for Romi, AND all of you." You shout at them. You point a finger at her. "Apologise to her, now!"

"Eheh, what?" She asks with a confused expression, cocking her hips. "Why? It's not like I ever said anything that wasn't just fact." She scoffs. You can feel your fist balling. You don't want to hit a regular girl but-

"Enough!" You hear as a hand pulls you back. Mai tugs at your arm, tightly, staring at the group of girls. "Think whatever you want to. Like I give a crap what any of you have to say anyway." Mai sighs, pulling you out of the room with her arm. The girl continues to smirk, increasing your rage, but Mai just keeps pulling you.

[1/2]
>>
>>39857930
Changing in the middle of all this would be a fair bit counterproductive, unless we came up for reasons to explain why we're suddenly a girl to Romi (or how we gained a larger bust to the other girls).
Also, it's probably more because we were doing the contests as a guy-trap, and it's been the one day.
>>
>>39858078
Yeah, I know. I meant I want us to be Minako soon, but not now.

"Dammit Mai, let me go, she needs to apologise for what she said!" You insist.

"No she doesn't, and I don't care much for anything she has to say." Mai insists, releasing your arm as you struggle. "You get used to it after a while; people saying bad things about you behind your back. People... people can think whatever they want to, but so long as I'm convinced of what I'm doing, it doesn't matter. It's how crossdress, it's how I perform, it's how I fight evil." She asserts, leaning back.

"But how do you make sure what you're doing is 'right'?" You ask, frowning. She pauses.

"I guess I just have to keep faith in what I've been doing." She replies. Yeah, that's the stubborn Mai you're used to, just doesn't know justice like you do. You sigh, realising it means nothing, and head for the door.

"But... thanks... for trying." You hear her mutter from behind.

You step out of the changing rooms, Mai following behind a few feet, and make your way back to Romi and the course. She notices the pair of you and smiles.

"Oh, you two. Ready to get drenched again?" She asks with a smirk.

You nod to Romi, ready to have another attempt. She smiles at your willingness to throw yourself at this course over and over, and slaps your backside with her clipboard. "Then have at it!" She calls after you.

You take up position at the start and hit the buzzer. Immediately, you dash across the balancing beam, intent to spend as little time on this part as you can. The spring-locks swing under you, sending white powder sprinkling in the air - something to soften the blow, you guess - and you quickly move onto the next section. You hop from pole to pole, hearing them slide down beneath you as you close in on the last two poles. Steeling yourself, you jump to the first one and try and leap off. You manage it, barely, but your foot slips back.

You reach out with your hand and grab the next pole, using the momentum to swing yourself around. Your hand just barely manages to let you and you grab onto the ledge on the other end. Romi whistles and Mai looks up in astonishment as you manage to clear that hurdle. Trying to lift yourself up with a greasy hand is virtually impossible though, and you slip back down into the pool. Greeeat- wet again...

"Haha, good try. Almost had it too." Romi claps, leaning over the pit. As expected, Mai is preparing for a shot as well, using your run as evidence. She passes the balancing beam as well as you and hops the pillars. When she reaches the greased ones, she crouches down on the third last and leaps over the next pillar. You get it; she's hoping to use your manoeuvre without getting her hands greasy. To your surprise, she manages it, and just barely catches the ledge like you. Without the greased hand, she pulls herself up easily.

"Ha~ ha~ Yes!" She exclaims, throwing her hands up. Impressive, you think, to jump that far. The next part seems to be some kind of bridge, but you have to hoist yourself out of the pit to see. You wonder how well-

"GYAH!" You hear as Mai splashes down next to you. You glance up and see the swinging axe 'blades' just overhead. A rickety bridge with swinging 'axes'... god only homes Romi hasn't greased those as well. Mai resurfaces next to you, gasping for air.

"This... this is impossible." She pants.

"We'll get there... e-eventually." You tell her, pulling yourself out, drenched again. You look over and notice Romi no longer watching you two; instead she's talking to-

"AOI!" You whisper to yourself as you recognise that tuft of blue hair atop a sour face. He has his bag slung over his arm, talking to his mother with an annoyed look, at least until he notices you. Actually, he doesn't at first; he seems to stare at you, mouth slightly open for a second before you notice a flinch and sudden sweat. Aww, he didn't recognise you at first but was still attracted.

"And that's why I have to do this... Aoi-chan, are you even listening?" Romi asks, waving a hand in front of his stunned face. Romi glances back at you and smiles.

"Hehe, have a nice swim? It only gets harder from the pillars." She asks, leaning on her son. Bastard...

Aoi raises a hand to wave at you, composing himself nonchalantly. "Uh, hey Makoto, what brings you he-URK!" His greeting is cut off by you throwing yourself at him and wrapping your arms around his waist. You stare up at him with water and tears on your eyes.

"Aoi~" YOu whine, gazing up with a mixture of relief and happiness. You swear you saw a flicker of gold just then, but Saito certainly doesn't want to change in front of his mother.

"W-What is it?" He asks, holding his arms out as you hug him. Romi watches on with mild confusion, and Saito only blushes further from having his mother here to watch you.

"I'm just so glad to see you~!" You say, rubbing your face into his chest. "You don't mind if I'm all greasy, wet, and oily, do you?" You ask, tugging at your shirt and rubbing up against him. He's trying VERY hard not to transform right now, as you can tell by the faint gold in the air.

"It's f-fine. Uh, k-kaasan, can you excuse us?" He asks, walking away with you hanging off of him. He pushes you back for the second to give himself a temporary reprieve. "Makoto, what are you doing here!?" he asks you, out of sight of Romi. YOu quickly explain to him running into Mai, wanting to go through the idol training, and the course.
>>
>>39859101

"It's just so long and hard, Aoi," you gasp, "I don't know if I can take it all."

"Please listen to what you say, Makoto." He says, holding his face as it blushes. "Everything went fine on our end. Robo sent everything down, and I'd imagine Shun is having the time of her life right now. She said she wouldn't go full out until she saw you though." He explains. Aw, Shun.

"That's good. I guess I don't have to distract Mai anymore." You sigh. "Think you can get me out, buddy?" You ask, running your hand down his arm.

"If it's my mom... nope." He sighs.

"W-What?" You ask, stepping back.

"I don't think you've realised what you've gotten yourself into. I warned you, but once Romi gets her claws into someone - especially someone she likes - she'll never let go until they end up in the hospital, or worse." He says grimly. N-No way...

"B-But if we can beat that course..." You say, hopefully.

"Maybe, but I've been here ever since that course was built and I've never seen anyone beat it." He sighs, crossing his arms.

"Have you tried?" You ask.

"What kind of a question is that!?" He snaps, growling at you. "I don't wanna be an idol, so the answer's obvious."

"Will... will she even let me go home?" You ask, fearfully. Saito shakes his head.

"She's gonna lock you in that gym until you become an idol, or break." He warns in a deep voice. You get the feeling he's playing this up a little bit, but the threat is real.

"Nngh, I don't want Hana to kill your mom. I want her to like you..." You cry into your hands, absolutely lost on how to progress.

"D-Don't even joke about that." He shoots back at you.

"Then help me escape!" You demand with a smile, pointing at him.

"Argh, how?" He asks, rubbing his head. You can't let yourself be seen by Romi, so you'll need some way to hide... and Saito should be able to move however he wants. You kneel down and tug up his shirt. "H-Hey, what are you doing?"

"I know exactly how to escape; I'll hide under your clothes!" You say, desperately pulling his shirt up. Aoi stares at you in disbelief.

"I don't think that's going to work..." He suggests. You're adamant though, and you start pulling down his pants. "Stop it, what if someone... sees-" Saito cuts himself short and stares straight ahead. You glance back and see Mai watching the two of you, blushing a little. What's in her head? All you're doing is kneeling in front of Saito, pulling his pants do-

"Oh." You say, hands still on his legs. You slowly stand back up and take a step back from him. "I was just..."

>>
>>39859763

"No, no, it's fine. I didn't see anything." Mai says, looking away, still blushing. Saito pulls his clothes back on and passes the two of you, grumbling. "...He is cute." Mai admits as she leans over at you, rocking her shoulders back and forth.

> Mhm~
> Sigh...
> Grrr-

With no help offered from Aoi here, you and Mai spend the next few hours in torment. The girls that went into the changing room, evidently having enough, managed to detatch a window and escape from the side, leaving the pair of you remaining. Romi made sure to nail that thing up tight following that, preventing either of you from making the same exit, and instead she continued to test you on the course.

Despite your waning enthusiasm, neither of you manage much further than the bridge. Not only are there swinging pendulum axes, but the bridge itself is barely stable and constantly being shifted from underneath. Whenever you find a solid place to stand, it falls away a moment later and an axe smacks you. You're not sure how much of the water on you is from the pool or just sweat. Mai isn't faring much better; basically just floating face-down in the water at this point. You two might as well be dead right now.

You sputter and gasp as you drag yourself out of the pool for the hundredth time today, or so it feels like. Romi looks down at you.

"Hey, you made it a few inches more. That's a real improvement." She compliments. You glare up at her with hatred. She smiles back. "Again."

You just sigh as Mai looks on with a slight smile, watching Saito's backside as he walks away. She better not be thinking of doing anything; you already have enough with Hiroko to worry about. You like having the harems, not competing in them.

-----===-----

"I really need to get home." You tell Romi as you wobble to your feet. "My mom's probably dragging her sniper gear out now..." You mutter.

"Sniper gear?" Romi asks, raising an eyebrow. Maybe... could you scare her into letting you go?

"Y-Yeah. My kaasan is super dangerous; she has an entire arsenal of guns, highly technical combat training, and the keenest instincts known to man." You threaten, smiling with your teeth. Romi listens to your description and considers it.

"Hm... sorry, there's only person I know that fits that description, and she ain't in Osataka." Romi smiles, plucking a hair from your head with a giggle. D-Dammit, she doesn't even believe you. You're going to die, AND Hana's going to murder Romi. This is the worst...

"Now come on, up and at them." She says, snapping her fingers as she pulls Mai out of the water.

"No... put me back..." She gasps, clutching at the water as Romi hauls her out, plopping her next to you.

"Honestly, we've only been at this for a few hours. I was so looking forward to seeing you two perform, and while you've both been impressive, I know you can do better." She insists, smiling at the two of you. Somehow, happy Romi is actually scarier then angry Romi to you. "You're rivals, I can tell, and that's fantastic for competition. You play off one another and grow as people."

"I'd put aside our rivalry if it meant stopping." Mai gasps, face down on the floor. Romi growls and tugs at her dishevelled ponytail.

"Well we're not stopping until someone beats this course!" She announces, and the both of you cringe, and you shut your eyes.

"Is that invitation open to anyone?" You hear a girl ask. You open your eyes and peer over to the door of the gym. Someone stands there, clad in short skirt, a cute blouse, stockings, and heeled sandals. Covering her face appears to be a light blue sash covering blue hair, along with motorbike goggles obscuring her face from the three of you. Still, you think you might have an idea of who this might be. Romi frowns at her.

"Sorry, but tryouts were earlier. Come back next time." She says, turning back to the two of you. The girl takes a few steps forward into the gym.

"What's wrong? Afraid that I'll embarrass your course?" She asks, sliding a finger over the equipment. You see a vein on her forehead throb and she turns to the girl.

"Heh, cocky aren't you? What's your name?" She asks, walking over to her. The girl pauses and shrugs.

"I don't feel like saying." She replies, crossing her arms. You can feel Romi projecting a sinister aura - not magical, just regular scary - to intimidate the girl, but she stands firm. Standing next to each other, the resemblance is uncanny...

"How about this; if I lose, I'll tell you who I am and you can do whatever to me. Insane idol training, lock me up, whatever you feel like."

"Tempting." Romi says, cracking her knuckles.

"But if I succeed, you'll let those two go, tear down this course," she points at Romi, "and give up training idols." She demands. Romi flinches this time, but suddenly busts a gut laughing.

"Oh man, the guts on you! This has been one hell of a day." She cackles.

"So?" The girl asks.

"Well... I-I..." Romi hesitates for a second, and you see some sweat drop down her face. You and Mai just watch this exchange in awe.

"Fine, deal." Romi says, slapping the hand of the girl. "You win, I'll give this up."

"Good." The girl replies back, walking over to the start of the course. She sets herself up at the gate, just shy of the buzzer. This is insane, Aoi - and it is so obviously Aoi - can't thinks he can run this course in a single try. She at least pulls her heels off before she steps forward.

"This oughta be entertaining." She smiles, standing back with her hands at her sides. The girl glances at Romi for a second, before depressing the buzzer. You clench your teeth as it begins.

First up, the balance beam. She balances well enough, wobbling slightly as she places one foot in front of the other. It's impressive, as good as either you or Mai, but the second that spring-trap comes down, Saito's going down. On cue, you hear it spring and fear the worst. But she doesn't fall; in an insanely fast movement, the girl arched her back and spread her arms out. It was... so fluid.

She raises up again and performs a similar move as the next one comes down. This time she raises her hands, letting them hit the pad, sending the white powder sprinkling down over the beam and herself. The way Aoi is moving is so strange; she's not even trying to dodge, it's almost as if she's...

"...dancing." You say, watching her move. With a spin on the beam and more bending, she dodges each lock with speed and grace. Onto the next part, she leaps between each pillar, counting each second and leaping off a second before they fall. By waiting until the exact moment, Aoi manages to adjust herself each time, letting her jump succinctly. You shut your eyes at the greased pole, but she lands on the first with no momentum change.

[1/2]
>>
>>39861382

"Wh- HOW?!" Mai asks, baffled. She waits there for a moment, then seems to tilt forward towards the next pole, as if to fall. Instead, her hands throw out and grab the pole, using it to swing herself up onto the end. With a trail of white, you realise what she did. By hitting her body on that powder, the grease was picked up on it and prevented it from getting slippery. That way, she maintains her grip and can move perfectly.

...How the hell would you have figured that out!?

You glance at Romi and see her looking like a mix of awe and fear as her son, unknowingly, continues. On the bridge, the movement of the bridge finally makes sense; it's not random, but rather form the steps of how you should dance through the blades. She passes through expertly in seconds and onto the final phase, which neither you nor Mai made it to. This phase... honestly it moves too fast for you to even keep up with. You swear there was a crusher and a flame thrower at one point, but Aoi makes it through without a scratch. She...

"She..." Mai gapes, hearing Saito step down from the other side.

"He..." You mumble, watching her walk towards Romi.

"You..." Romi gasps in horror and amazement at this girl.

"I... did it." She says, flicking Romi's clipboard. Wow... Romi really was teaching you dancing. "Our agreement." The girl asks cooly as she passes Romi.

"I-I-" Romi flinches, turning with wide eyes. You've seen her happy and sad, but never once did she look as frazzled as she does now. She reaches out and grabs Aoi by the arm. "I-I can't stop now, not when someone finally managed to do this. Please," she gasps, clasping her hand, "please tell me who-"

"No." She answers, tugging her arm away and running out the door and down the hall. Romi doesn't chase her, but slinks to her knees, defeated.

"What..." Mai asks, "what just happened?"

You and Mai stand in awe of what just happened. You thought that course was impossible, but it was really just the setup for an incredibly elaborate dance routine. You admit; someone who was able to perform a dance like that so perfectly despite the, incredibly literal, pitfalls and failures would probably make for an amazing dancer. The way you and Mai were cheesing your way through it, you actually feel a little ashamed. Considering Romi's attitude, she probably saw so many people fail this that even she forgot what the trick was.

"Oh, Romi!" You glance over at the woman, kneeling there, defeated. So strong before, now she just looks in a daze. "Are you- huh?" You down at her and see tears in her eyes, but strangely, a smile.

"She was amazing... did you see?" She asks, possibly not even to you. Wow, she actually broke for a minute here. You lay a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry." Is all you can say before you run for the exit. "Mai, take care of Romi!" You call back.

"Wha- Hey, don't just-" Her words leave you as you dash out the exit after Saito. At first you expect to never be able to catch up to her, but you manage to spot her a few dozen feet around the corner, having run into a nearby park and playground area. Saito is gasping for breath, holding her knees as she pants. She held herself together well back there, but that really was exhausting for her to perform.

"...Aoi?" You ask, stepping towards her. She leans back up, still panting.

"Not great disguise then, huh?" Saito asks, pulling the goggles and mask off and throwing them aside as he slumps to the ground. "What is it Makoto- I thought you wanted to go home?" She asks, tugging at her blouse with a slight blush.

We know why he did it, berating him for it isn't a good idea. Right now it's time for some seriousness and heartfelt talking.

There's a pause between the two of you as you wonder what to say. A million questions float around in your head right now, but Saito probably isn't in the mood for all of them.

"Can..." You begin with, "Can I sit next to you." She glances up at you and nods, looking off into the distance. You feel the grass underneath you depress as you cross your legs and sit beside her.

"I wanted to say thank you." You say to him, sliding closer. "What you did was very brave."

"Ehe, y-yeah well." Aoi mumbles, smiling and hiding her face. You forgot how cute embarrassed female Saito was, and in the light of the moon it's only amplified.

"How- How did you go all that?" You ask, getting a bit more excited. You lean over her, smiling widely. "I tried that course god-knows how many times and I never made further than the bridge."

"Well... the bridge alone is impressive." Saito admits, turning towards you. "I had trouble there for the longest time."

"So you did practice on it." You say, sitting back.

"...Yeah." She admits, tugging at the grass beneath her. She seems to wrestle with something in her mind before she sighs and turns to you. "Makoto, you remember when I said I didn't want to talk about why I hate being a girl?"

"Sort of." You answer.

"Well back when I was younger... I kinda did like this kind of stuff." She admits, burying her face again. You blink and lean forward.

"That's great! So you trained to be idol with your mom?" You ask. He scoffs.

"N-No, not exactly. I was too young for it but... The workouts looked like tons of fun. She was less zealous back then, so things were lighter. N-Not that I ever crossdressed..."

"The course, man, no-one could beat it. I wanted to be the first, to show up the girls. It took me so long before I even realised it was a dance, then things just clicked. I probably owe a lot of my strength to those workouts and that course." She recalls, with a distant smile.

"But I couldn't stand it when people started abusing me for enjoying this. I'd mastered the course by then, so I guess it was just easier to shut away." She admits with a frown. You'd bet money that losing her son's enthusiasm probably didn't help Romi either.

"So why did you make her quit? Isn't that a bit extreme?" You ask him.

"Kaasan is extreme. I hated seeing the other girls in pain, but above all I couldn't let it go on if it meant you- Uhm..." She goes bright red at that last part. Wow... he really did do all of this for you.

"Wasn't it... cold?" You ask, laying a hand on his.

"It was hard- that's why I ran out before she could say anything. I just want her to stop being crazy, and maybe now she will be." Saito asserts, glaring ahead. You certainly hope so; for both their sakes.

Enough time has passed that the afternoon is all gone as the stars have come out for the night. Strangely, it was a good day today, despite the pains. You might have a bit more to do before things end, but for now, all you want to do is rest. Your head slumps to the side, hitting Saito's legs.

"Hey, Makoto, knock it- off..." You hear her mutter as you drift off in her lap. "...Okay, for a little bit." She mutters, putting a hand on your forehead.

Hm, haven't quiiite finished this little thing yet haven't properly 'thanked' Saito yet but we made some real nice progress here. This is pretty much Saito's main backstory; mother was idol trainer, widdle Saito enjoyed all the idol stuff, grew up getting abused for it and therefore started hating being feminine. With Makoto, he's starting to rekindle that joy, but very slowly.

Also, trappy Mai! Believe it or not, NOT a strategy to make people like Mai. Every incarnation I've had of her, except for the first when she was just evil Yui, was a trap; hence the connection with Yui. Their connection comes through that, and also Mai's love of being complimented and the attention. Can fill in the gaps in your head about how Yui may have 'embarrassed' Mai and led to their breakup.

Addtionally, this>>39858145 paragraph pretty much sums up how Mai thinks, and her reason for being so stubborn and moronic-looking. Needs to power through the animosity to even have a chance of succeeding at what she loves, which makes her all the harder to convince; but not impossible.

Was a fun session, that's all (especially draw-anon).

Next one miiight be Wed, but I may take that day to do some uni work, so probably expect Sat instead.

But also, that's all.

>THEY ARE EVERYWHERE
Ahahahahaha, oh yes, this is great.
Man, Momo is so cute, but she should keep the foci.
>>
>>39862753
Hana has a child sized sniper rifle?

>Are you sure about this Momo? You were the one who found it.
>Maybe, but I... I really wanted Yuuki to have it.

Dammit Momo. Don't do something stupid with an unbound focus.
>>
>>39863246
I think she was offering her focus to Yuuki?
>>
>>39863295
Sending up unbound foci feels less scummy than taking ones that have gone and gotten themselves attached. But I wonder if a focus would react to Yuuki. That could be super awkward.
>>
>>39863346
He could just be that girly. But getting one would put him into direct conflict with himself (Robo) and would be a complete dick move to Shizuko.
>>
>>39863388
also to her older sister Yuki is super robot if the older priestess take this focus shuns robot suit could go to trash can girland then everyone would be super powered
>>
v986350
or the other way around, if umeki even want s the damn thingjust a thought in any scenario further thought needs to be done also communication
>>
>>39862753
Thanks for running as always.
A rival trap! i never would have guessed
>>
>>39863789
Also communication is right. You're drunk anon go home.
