With the Angelic Church having appealed it's laws regarding heretics due to political pressure and rumors of corruption, things have started to calm down in your kingdom of Treeline...for now.

With your Dwarven craftsmen finally settling in and building their workshops, what was once a small rest stop along a short cut trade route, your castle has started to create it's own crafts and develop it's own economy, albeit still a small one but with bustling activity. With it however the new businesses popping up aren't always lawful, and with your castle guard doubling as town guard theft, harassment, gambling, public violence is abundant despite best efforts. Despite this though the promise of new trade and opportunities people from all walks of life have started to come to live there.

No point no seaports worth anything to us and we have no extra continental ties yet.

>>39965900
Why not raid which is scouting in force.
>>
>>39965973

Because we need to raid selectively and carefully. The ones who would suffer would be Steelgate citizenry. If we want to effect a good near bloodless, takeover, we need to be careful in selecting targets instead of just raiding horses. Cant hurt the small folk, can't hurt the rich folk too much either since we need their backing.
>>
>>39965973
Raiding could be bad for us, since we're the only area that bandits used to come from, and any banditry would reasonably be coming from our kingdom.
Also, considering that our brother has some influence over the Church via bribery, he'll likely try to get our raids spun as working against the peace and unity of the continent.

Also, he can still crush us militarily; he just wants to try to get us killed more cheaply than through a military campaign.

Which is why we're hitting his strong supporters or his assets personally it makes him look weak and cripples his ability to redeploy quickly.

Sir Vigo Mortavia Alistrade Bullivardune is the merchant who own practically every facet of armor, weapons, and clothes production in the country of Steelgate and openly flaunts his wealth over all nobles outside the royal family. That said however he was always a major supporter of your half-brother for the throne, mostly because he knew he could persuade him to let him have as many monopolies as he wanted.

His Mansion lies one a private property just outside the capital city, surrounded by brick wall and regular guard patrols.
