The guards your crew is spying on idly chat about a prisoner they found, apparently it must have been a pretty important one, too.

"I kinda worry about opening her cell door. I know I have to eventually, but those horns."
He visibly shivers.
"They're far tougher than any weapon I've seen."

Huh, so they captured a princess?
You see something in the top of your vision and your head snaps up, just in time to watch the kid that's been following you throw himself down the hole.
He looks very angry.

You are Jack Albator, excellent navigator, successful rescuer, and speaking of which; you're about to save yet another princess. You came to a remote village located who-knows-where using teleportation magic that was once used to kidnap villagers and other people of interest. From your keen investigation skills, you've deduced that the perpetrators of this have been no other than a rogue nation, Konditorei!
Now that you've found that out, it's been a quest of trying to find where to adequately apply fists and guns in order to make the problem go away. It seems that if you're not fast enough, the kid might be the first one to apply them before you.

"Cmon!" You say to Yuuki as you slide down from your vantage point onto the confused and unaware guards.

The kid is the first one to land, he hits the table hard and shatters it into a million tiny little splinters.
But he doesn't stop there.
Quickly, almost as if he had planned this movement, he brings the ball of his foot up to meet one of the guard's mouths. His heel embeds into the guards face with such precision and force that it blasts that guard's clothes and armor straight off. He explodes into a puffball and lands harmlessly on the floor.

"OH-" Is as far as one of the guards gets before the boy's fists quickly strike several points on his neck. That guard suddenly finds himself unable to breathe as he falls onto the ground choking and coughing.

The guard farthest away from him takes out a small pistol, which you disarm from him thanks to your cutlass. Yuuki lands a short distance away and immediately throws a blade of ice at the door just as someone tries to open it. An ice-cube quickly forms all around the hinges and the frame.

Two guards left, one of them dropped his weapon and darted for another door on the inset of the room. While the last one is completely unaware that he's the last one left and has assumed formation.

>Beat the shit out of this last guy and follow the coward.
>Hold the last guy, time for some answers.
>Let the kid decide, you don't think you could stop him even if you wanted to.

Cowards make for better interrogations.

Have Yuuki hold down the fort with the Kid. Chase the coward - I don't trust these guys to NOT have a GOTH plan he may or may not be running towards.

Not that I'd mind being wrong.

Hey there Announcer, how ya doin'?
>>
>>40203982
Pretty good, except it's been a busy day and the rest of the week looks to be even busier.

Also I'm having connection issues, that might delay things further. Let's see.
>>
Hoping we get to be a badass finally.
>>
>>40204161
Sorry to hear that. Yeah I had some weird connection issues myself earlier today actually.
>>
Well.
It should take oh, about one whole second at the very most for Jack to curbstomp this dude.

The last guy still holds his ground as you walk up to him.

"Aye give ye one last chance. Turn tail and run and I won't turn ye into-"
He isn't listening, instead he's adjusting his grip on his sword.
You effortlessly step up and punch him so hard he flies through the delicate wall.

You feel the wind as the kid has already started pursuit of the guy going through the doorway. It appears to be a stairway that goes downward into oblivion.

Yuuki quickly coats the room in ice and stands guard at the top of the stairwell, as you and the new kid head down the stairs.

- -

The kid practically floats as he runs. You barely see nor hear his feet touch the wooden planks at all.
Meanwhile the guard is scrambling just to stay out of arms reach of him. He gets maybe a quarter of the way down before the kid wraps his arm around his neck and kicks his leg out. He almost tumbles, if it weren't for a very angry looking short-stock glaring right at him.

"WHERE IS SHE!?"
If he didn't have such a babyface, he would almost be intimidating. You could easily see someone like Tuile or Akiko wanting to ruffle his hair for trying to act all tough-like.

"You're gonna be-"
The guard holds his breath when he sees you step up behind him.
"..Down the stairs." He tenses up.
"What else is down the stairs!?" The kid screams at him.

The guard visibly sweats when he sees you pull out your revolver and aim it at him, over the kid's head.
"..There's a knight down there, tough guy. I doubt either of you can take him."
"Hmph!" The kid spats as he taps several points on the guard's shoulder.

He looks confused for a moment before his head cricks sideways. The guard then explodes into a puff of smoke, and a fuzzy ball.

The kid pays no attention to it. Instead, he rushes to the door at the bottom of the stairwell and glares.

You:
>Break the door down!
>Dynamic entry!
>Fastball special!
>Try to sneak in.
>Just knock, see who answers.

Good to see Jack gets something decent of his own during this.

OK, so what do we do here, everyone?
I'm leaning towards just tearing the thing apart, with a badass entrance.
>>
Man kinda slow today...

Dynamic entry

Time for Jack to shine.
He's a hero, these jackasses aren't worth shit.

I'm sorry, I've just always wanted to yell that.

OH MY GOD LOOK HOW LATE IT IS
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?

Geez.
>>
So...
How long until we can end up with Dog Days running multiple times a week?
>>
>>40205293
I would estimate CPM has 5-6 more threads left.
So perhaps two to three more weeks. We'll see.

Now, from your experience of raiding ships, they're probably waiting right behind this door with lots of pikes, spears, and muskets. Ready for the first man to open the door to be stabbed, poked, and blasted.

You grab the boy's shoulder, it looked like he was about to just blast right through that door and start working on everything behind it. You know that doors are the suckers way to get blown to pieces.
Instead, you realize that any basement or dungeon this deep underground must have some way to get air to it. Otherwise, everyone and their captives would quickly pass out. They have two choices when doing this, they could dig a hole into the dungeon for one. Or, if they wanted to keep from digging two holes-
You search along the outside of the doorframe, sure enough, there's a wooden cover with holes in it to allow air to flow through. Which gives you a wonderful idea.

- -

All the men crowd around the door. Each one has a sharp implement pointed at the wooden barrier.
They don't know what is going on upstairs. They heard some noise, then some yelling, and then silence. They're expecting maybe a mob of villagers to start trying to push their way in, or maybe a lone warrior who is searching for a way to make a name for himself.

What they weren't expecting was for two heroes to come THROUGH the vent at the top of the door. Both at almost top-speed. They crash straight into the confused and disorderly last line of defense for the prison guards. Each one turned into tiny puffballs from a flurry of fists, swords, and gunshots.
Humiliating is the only word to describe it.
At least, that's how the only observer to this defeat describes it.

It's a tall, voluptuous woman, sitting on an upturned stone uniquely placed in the hallway.
She has her arms crossed, and a very bitter frown adoring her face. As well as two fuzzy bear ears atop her head.

You and the kid finish the last of the prison guards and begin rushing down the stone corridor. Both of you hold your fists outward, ready to give it to this woman if she tries to stop you.
That's when both of you run headlong into something. You both step back and rub your noses before pressing against a seemingly invisible wall that has sprouted between you and the woman.

"Welcome to my jail." She stares at the floor, not meeting your eyes. "It's easy to get in, impossible to get out. Sorry you came all this way, but this is not visitation hours."
"Let us in! You can't keep us out forever!" The boy snaps at her.
"No, but I can keep sitting here until reinforcements arrive. As long as I don't move, you can't get in." She leans back, still not meeting eyes with you.

"So we gotta get you up and the wall disappears?"
She doesn't say anything else, instead she shuffles the dust around with her foot.

>Find a way around the wall.
>Walls are no match for you!
>Maybe you're trying to go through the wrong wall.
>Intimidate the woman.
>try talking to her.

>Bwahahaha! Lassie, we're HEROES. This shit where ya try to act tough didn't work so well for the one at the bar when he realized multiple heroes are here to tear apart everyone and everything that has pissed the kingdoms off.
>All you'll do by waiting is giving us more fluffballs that we can drag out... and drop, outside of the little shield on this town. I believe I heard there were some demons around?

Fuck this shit.
I want some goddamn respect for being Heroes, and some fear from the enemies directly shown when Jack talks.
>>
>>40205799
>Maybe you're trying to go through the wrong wall.
Lateral thinking ftw
>>
Everyone, it is 9PM here, which means if I want to get some sleep tonight for work tomorrow then I'll have to call the thread here.

>Thread End

Apologies to everyone involved. Thread will pick up next week with this last decision.

Don't worry, Dog Days will return to its normal schedule soon enough!

Thank you everyone for the thread, and I will see you next time.
>>
>>40205799
>>Maybe you're trying to go through the wrong wall.
So are we gonna kool-aid man this?
>>
>>40205799
Is anyone going to show some proper respect for multiple heroes instead of trying to bullshit some "oh no I'm totally not scared" facade?
It's getting annoying.
>>
>>40205961
And let me know, in the future, if anyone thinks it's worth me running these three hour threads when I can't start early. Because it feels like I really only gave everyone a taste instead of an actual thread. It's disappointing because I know you guys deserve a lot more now that it's only running once a week.

Maybe if I get time this weekend, Ill try to run an extra DD thread. Stay tuned to my twitter and we'll find out.
>>
>>40206135
In all honesty... we only got 27 replies here, this time.
So, I'm not sure it's worthwhile if we only have them last for such a short amount of time.
>>
>>40206241
Eh, better than nothing. We'd be nowhere if we skipped every short thread.
>>
>>40206314
I guess...
Still seems a little disappointing.

Will this thread be archived?
>>
>>40206454
Of course, not much progress was made but some was.
It should already be archived.
>>
>>40206135
thanks for running.
er, yeah, theads that short feel more like an apetizer than anything
using akun and updating whenever might be better in that case
