You glance at the note in your hand one more time before crushing it with a growl. It sounded so heartfelt when you first read it, a letter from your two teachers telling you that you were ready to stand on your own feet, to face life without their guidance, to strive for greatness.

Then of course you noticed the little note at the bottom, informing you that they had taken a little spending money as thanks for all they did for you. As it turns out, having now turned the entire room upside-down, twice, a little spending money in fact means ALL of your money.

You can imagine Artor telling you, with a big grin, that this is your final test, to build yourself up from nothing through your new skills. Oh how you wish you could smack that grin off his face right now.

Well, no sense moping, you do have skills, albeit unusual ones. You are a disciple of Elshhu, Goddess of the Beauteous Form, a master of unarmed combat and arcane manipulation drawing upon a well of power filled with the overflowing emotions and sensations of passion. Or to put it in the terms that most in the Great City would recognize, a warrior priest of a sex goddess.

You can't join a guild or temple, since you are technically a member of a (barely) recognized religious order. Which leaves you a few options: mercenary work, throwing in your lot with a gang, hopefully only temporarily, trying to hook up with an adventuring party for some looting in the lost districts, or maybe just wandering around until you find someone with more money than sense to scam.

You could also ask your mother for some gold you suppose... Yeah, no, that's not happening. So what now, Jareth?

Sitting on a pile of overturned junk, you contemplate your next move. You could always go talk to your mother, but, since the falling out you haven't really spoken to her in the past year. You doubt she'd be overjoyed to find out that you quit the Sunbringer Order to become a priest of Elshhu. No, definitely not going there, at least not until things become really desperate.

You basically only have two skills, you're good at beating the hell out of things, and you're good at fucking. You're not going to be making money off the second of those two skills unless you want to get on the wrong side of the Pleasure Guild.

You do not want to get onto the wrong side of the Pleasure Guild.

So that really only leaves your divinely empowered ass-kicking skills. You've no doubt the gangs would appreciate that, but do you really want to throw your lot in with a bunch of people who have no ambition higher than shanking the gang in the next street along and taking their pocket change? Adventurers would be a better choice, you think, all the lack of morals of a street gang, but with bigger ambition and less strings attached.

You take a moment to focus yourself, looking inwards to your mana reserves. Looks like you're still fully charged after yesterday's romp with that barmaid downstairs and your teacher, Senta. Hopping up off the pile of junk, you rummage through it and stash away all of your essential belongings. If you had to guess, you doubt your masters paid for the room on their way out. The question is, do you risk going out the front and trying to talk your way out, or do you hop out the window, three storeys down. It would require a bit of mana to stop you busting something, but it would avoid you some serious awkwardness.

>>40275758

Can we leave a note saying "Sorry, I got robbed by those two assholes who payed, as an apology please use whatever you find in this room as you see fit" before leaving through the window? 2% of our power reserve doesn't seem like that big a deal.
Make sure we don't leave anything essential, sentimental, too valuable, etc. here though.
>>
>>40275789
>Well then, how much is all the shit left in our room worth? I assume not enough to pay the price for the room?

Maybe you could talk your way out, you could probably fight your way out too, but that would be a real waste of your reserves. Grabbing a scrap of paper from the pile, you scribble out a note to the inn's owner Gurby 'Nosebreaker' Hogg, the name doesn't inspire confidence that he'll take this well, but screw him, he's an ass anyway.

Assuring him that he can consider everything left behind a gift from the priesthood of Elshhu, you open up the window, peering out into the alley below. Looks quiet save for a few rats and one sleeping dwarven hobo.

Hopping out, you channel the energies to your legs as the wind rushes past you, bringing the charming scent of garbage along with it. Vermin scatter as you land, a spark of golden mana crackling from the soles of your feet as you impact the cracked cobbles. The dwarf snorts, rolling over onto his other side and covering his face with his hand as you dust yourself off.

Taking off at a comfortable jog, you put distance between yourself and the inn. Not going back there again, service was terrible anyway, and the barmaid gave toothy blowjobs to boot. You step out into one of the main bridgeways, joining the hordes of civilization as they go about their lives. You get more than a few sideways looks, most likely as a result of your Elshhuan pendant.

Squeezing through a group of Hammer Guild workmen on their way to the Smoke District, you step off onto a side road towards Glimmer Street, a popular spot for adventurers, and poseurs who want to hang around adventurers pretending to be one.

(cont)
>>
>>40275947
Glimmer Street's always a hell of a sight. Weapon and armor smithies, alchemist workshops, magic shops, and a whole lot of taverns, a microcosm of the adventuring lifestyle. You see some people hanging around by the entrance to the district, all looking young and overeager, many holding signs offering their adventuring services or trying to convince others to join their new group. Rookies looking to step into the lifestyle.

You could check out some of the rookies. You doubt any of them are on your level, but they also won't expect much of you, or want to go anywhere too dangerous. Easy gold, and hopefully without annoying things like joining fees.

Alternatively, you could go into one of the many taverns along Glimmer Street for more experienced groups. The Dark Corner Tavern is a popular one.

Or you could always just check out the shops. Though the lack of money might be an issue.

How easy is it to get Mana?
>>
>>40276123
You replenish your supplies through lewdness, how much you get back depends on two factors.

1) how involved the act is, so for example taking a few moments to grope someone might get you a couple of points back, while full on sex is going to get you a whole lot more.

2) how emotionally involved the acts are. Simple fact is that drawing mana from bar sluts and prostitutes is a long, tedious process, most of them are too jaded and uninterested in the whole thing to really give you the emotional spark you need. You need real feeling to get some serious mana back, whether love, lust, embarrassment, or whatever.

While you've no doubt you're tougher than any of the rookies, when it comes to actual adventuring, you are a rookie, no getting around that. You let your eyes gaze idly over the crowd of eager faces, trying to pick out anyone who looks a little more special than the rest, or a little hotter.

You see a girl standing at the front of a small group waving a sign asking for two more members. Big smile on her face. She's cute, red-haired and fair skinned, and probably even above the socially accepted age, probably. Moreover, she has the distinctive feel of someone with a respectable pool of mana about her. From how she's dressed in light leathers and carrying a lot of tools, you'd guess at some sort of thief as a profession, with magic probably designed to supplement it. She seems to have a group with her already, none of the rest of whom look all that interesting, and one of them's wearing a Sunbringer Pendant, which could spell trouble.

You spot another group, a couple of rather dour looking youths at the front, similar looking in their pale skin and dark hair, probably brother and sister. Both have mana about them, not an amazing supply, but decent, and both are carrying matching swords. Couldn't say what they do, you suppose they might be some sort of necromancers, but that would be a bit presumptuous, some people just like dressing up dark and gloomy. Looks like no-one's joined up with them yet, unsurprisingly.

The other one that stands out is a woman perhaps a couple of years older than the others, holding up a sign telling everyone that she is a sorceress trained in the Spark District, looking for a group. She's got impressive mana, and she's easy on the eyes too with that figure, but you're not entirely sure that heaving breasts and a slight hint of chubbiness are great for adventuring. She must have just got here, because she seems to have no group as of yet.

Most people learn some magic and some combat in the setting, indeed people who only know one or the other are considered to be the minority. The sorceress is if anything more unusual than a pair of necromancers who know swordsmanship.

>How many people are there in the redhead's group? Do we know how many people there usually are in adventuring groups?
Four others, a pair of bigger fighter looking guys, one of whom is the one wearing the pendant. Also some sort of heavily tattooed young guy who just screams 'I know magic that blows shit up'. Finally a somewhat plainer looking girl (still got a good figure on her though) with a spear who looks like she has barely any mana to speak of.

IIRC 8-9 inches is optimal length. Average female vagina is 9 inches from labia to cervix, and hitting the cervix with every thrust is like being punched in the balls repeatedly.

Anything larger is painful and/or unrealistic.

Yeah, if you go full force into it, but just touching it or pushing up against it a bit isn't painful.

The existing group looks like it could get annoying, which is a shame, because the redhead is cute. Ah well, can't have everything. Instead you turn your attention to the other two possibilities. The brother sister pair and the sorceress. You decide to start with the sorceress, because you doubt she'll be on her own for long.

Smoothing down your clothing and putting on your best smile, you walk over to the sorceress. She spots you, and promptly looks over her shoulder trying to figure out what you're looking at. She turns back, eyes wide, when she realizes you aren't walking past her.

“H-hello. Are you interested in forming a party?”

Looks like you have to add lack of confidence to potential problems.

“Jareth, warrior and priest. Pleasure to meet you. I'm just getting into adventuring myself,” you smile, offering a hand.

“Oh...uh, Velia, Sorceress, I trained in the Spark District as part of the Bolter Guild. Ah, if you're a priest do you know healing? What are you a priest of exactly?”

No sense hiding it you suppose.

“Elshhu. I'm really more of a warrior priest, though I do know a few healing techniques,” you explain, trying not to grin at the half-dozen different emotions that run through the sorceress' face as she looks from you, to your pendant, down to the hand she's still shaking. You think for a minute she might make a run for it, but she settles for turning a deep shade of crimson and freezing in place.

“So what exactly does the Bolter Guild teach you?” you ask, trying to shake her out of her petrified state.

“Ah... right. We learn temporal displacement magic, I'm afraid I can only do it short distance, but I can create portals and pathways. It's very useful for getting around.”

You nod along with the description. Sounds like it could be valuable in a fight too, if she's smart enough to use it right, even if it's not as flashy as fireballs.

“Sounds handy. Alright, it's a deal, we'll form a group. With my combat abilities and your magic we should fit together perfectly,” you grin.

Velia nods slowly, still half-dazed.

“Fit together... uh... w-wait what?”

“Great,” you grin, shifting your hand in her frozen grip to lead her over to the siblings, who still seem to be scaring off any potential party members.

Valia makes a squeak of panic, but follows you all the same. As you reach the siblings, some young adventurer is stomping off away, muttering to himself. The male sibling lets out a sigh as the female one brushes some hair from her face, looking away.

“How about these two?” the male sibling asks as you drag Valia along.

The female sibling glances at you vaguely, before turning away again.

“Problem finding a group?” you ask with a grin, pulling Valia up alongside you.

“You could say that,” the young man sighs, a pointed look to his sister.

“I won't team up with plebs, Iden, they'll only drag us down,” the sister sniffs, making a dismissive gesture.

“We're not exactly rolling in offers, Razi,” the brother sighs.

Rolling her eyes, the sister turns to face the two of you.

“Fine, you, what do you do?” she asks, pointing a finger at you, her fingertip practically jabbing you in the nose.

“Warrior Priest of Elshhu. I use my magic to enhance my natural abilities.”

“I don't much care for priests, snobs one and all,” the sister, Razi, sniffs.

“You don't even know who Elshhu is, Razi. He's a sex priest, he's not going to be snobby,” Iden sighs.

“I don't like him.”

“You don't like anyone, and I'm not going home to explain to our landlord that once again we have returned with no job and no possibility of paying rent.”

“Urgh, fine, what about her, the cow woman, what can she do?” Razi asks, turning her accusatory finger on Valia, who once again freezes up.

“She's a sorceress, Bolter Guild trained, can create portals. How about you two, what do you do?” you ask, turning it around before Valia can have a panic attack.

“No fancy guild training for us, we learned by doing. We're trained in swordsmanship and death magic. I'm better with ghost magic, my sister is better with bone magic.”

“Okay, but what do you actually do?”

“Look at this idiot, doesn't even know what ghost and bone magic are,” Razi sniffs, turning away again.

“You didn't know who his goddess was either, genius,” Iden mutters, folding his arms.

“I can summon up spirits to scout, to harrass and possess. I haven't gotten the hang of living possession yet, but I can possess simple objects and move things around. My sister can fortify the body against harm, weaken others' resistance to injury, and create servants out of bone. Well, small servants anyway.”

Hmm, sounds like you have a group then, an odd one admittedly, but a group none the less.

“So we have a group then, great.”

“I didn't say we were a-,” Razi mutters.

“We're a group,” Iden sighs, cutting his sister off.

“We're a group, do we have a lead on some actual adventure?”

Blank faces all around, great.

You've read enough books to know how adventures start. You go loiter in a tavern looking for leads until some ash-covered peasant bursts in and tells you that a dragon is burning the countryside.

Of course the Great City doesn't really HAVE countryside nowadays, and you're not old enough to have ever lived back on the mainland when it did have countryside rather than goblin-infested wastelands, but all the same, taverns are where adventures start, you know that.

“Okay, we're going to go check out some taverns, find a lead, then comes the adventure,” you explain to the group. Iden nods along, Valia still looks in a state of shock, and Razi looks away.

Great start.

“Okay, let's start here,” you suggest, gesturing to a tavern just next to you, the Bellicose Swan. The hell is a swan anyway? Looks horrifying whatever it is, some sort of giant bird-monster.

Pushing open the doors, you are disappointed to note that the tavern does not go quiet as everyone turns to look at you, indeed no-one turns to look at you at all, since the whole place is packed with people who look far more unusual than your group.

“Right, start information gathering,” you nod, giving Valia a pat on the back to jump her out of her panic.

“R-right, I can do it,” Valia nods, in a way that fills you with zero confidence that she can do it.

You glance around the tavern, there's the barkeep of course, or the barmaids, you could talk to some of the other adventurers, or you could just wander around and keep an ear out for interesting talk.

The temptation is strong as you watch barmaids swaying from table to table, very strong, but if you want to learn something, you start with the barkeeper.

He's a grizzled man who looks like he's missing one of everything, an eyepatch, a hook-hand, the whole deal. Probably an ex-adventurer, you've heard the Brewers and Tavern Owners Guild gives a discount to ex-adventurers wanting to join up and start a business.

“Whad'ya want, kid?” he squeaks... squeaks? Huh, maybe he lost something besides an eye and hand in his adventurer days.

“Just looking for some information my friend, was hoping an obviously seasoned veteran of the adventurer life like yourself might be willing to help out a party of newbies looking to make their first score,” you grin.

“Info's a two drink minimum. Good info's a four drink minimum,” he replies, waving his hook under your nose.

Okay, so you're a little light on gold right now, but Valia has money, probably. You look around for Valia, spotting her at a nearby table, bless her, girl's really trying. Of course right now her attempts to gather information seem to have turned into her stammering while some big burly man leans on the table edge trying to flirt with her.

As he reaches a hand out for her, she promptly vanishes through a hole in the floor with a squeak, reappearing on top of the table next to you. With a yelp she loses her balance on the beer-slicked tabletop, slipping off.

You catch her as she falls (feels good, as if you hadn't guessed as much), setting her down on her feet.

“There you are, Valia, was wondering where you'd gotten to.”

Valia flushes crimson, smoothing down her outfit and mumbling something that may have been a thank you before it died somewhere on its way out of her mouth.

“Oi, can't you read,” the barkeeper squeaks, tapping his hook against a sign on the wall. 'No space/time distortion in the tavern'. Huh, I guess in a place like this it must be pretty common.

“S-sorry,” Valia whimpers, looking at her feet.

“So Valia, to celebrate our new party, how would you like to buy the first round for the group?” you grin. Putting an arm around her shoulder.

“O-oh, yes, I suppose that would be only proper, I, I don't really drink though.”

“It will be a symbolic drink,” you smile, giving her a reassuring pat before releasing her.

“Okay,” Valia nods, opening up a pouch and placing a handful of gold coins on the table, which draws more than a few stares from nearby patrons.

Reaching up, you slide half the coins off of the bar top and put them back in her pouch before the barkeep can overcharge the hell out of us.

With a high-pitched grunt, the hook-handed barkeep pours out four drinks, don't know how he makes it look so easy with one hand, but he does.

“Four drinks, I believe that means we get some good information now,” you smile.

“Yeah, know a couple of things that might work for some rookies like you. Puddlestomp Lane got flooded a few months back, all dried off now, mostly, and full of monsters and such. Good loot if you don't mind going into the Undertow.”

Which means if you don't mind getting through all the gangs between here and Puddlestomp. Most of them won't cause us trouble, but I doubt we'll make it there without at least one fight.

“Okay, what else?”

“Had some alchemist in her a few days ago, guy named Rinkest, trying to hire people to go gather finmoss from that blue tower near Crumble Town if you aren't afraid of heights, and whatever's hiding out in the tower, might be good gold in it.”

“Where do we find Rinkest?”

“Two doors down, up the stairs, second on the left, the room which has Rinkest Alchemust Supplies over the door.”

“You mean alchemist supplies?”

“I don't.”

Okay, those sound good, but you doubt you'll be able to do both before other groups do whatever you come to last.

>>
“Come on Valia, time for a group meeting,” you smile, scooping up the drinks and hunting down a free table.

Valia looks infinitely more comfortable now that the talking to people part of this exercise is over, settling into her seat and staring at her drink like it was some strange creature.

Glancing around, you try to spot the other two members of your party. You spot Iden talking to some adventurers at a nearby table, looking a little uncomfortable. You wave him over, and he moves away from the group in haste, one of the party leering at him as he goes. You spot another adventurer at the table lean over, whispering something to his fellow, hearing a “that was a guy!?” echoing over the general buzz of conversation for a moment. You suppose after five or six drinks Iden might be a little hard to place in the gender category.

Razi proves more difficult to find, since apparently her idea of information gathering was to park herself in the darkest corner that hadn't already been occupied by a mysterious figure and look miserable.

“Razi, come on, we have something,” you call, and with a look of obvious irritation, the girl pushes herself off from the wall, joining you at the table.

“Okay, so did anyone else get anything?” you ask, taking a sip of your drink. It's surprisingly not terrible.

“No,” Razi sighs, ignoring the drink and putting her chin in her hand, staring off away from the table.

No surprise there.

“How about you Iden?”

“Uh, nothing useful,” Iden replies, taking a big and slow swig of his drink until you move your attention on.

“Valia?”

“N-nothing.”

“Well, lucky for you three I did. Got two choices, some looting in an abandoned district, or gathering some fancy moss for an alchemist in the tower over by Crumbletown.”

“What do they pay?” Iden asks, putting down his drink and wiping some foam from his lip.

“Looting pays whatever we can sell the stuff we loot for. Alchemist job, well, we'll have to negotiate.”

“Looting,” Razi states. I suppose that's her vote.

“Ah, the alchemist job sounds nice, I think, i-if that's okay,” Valia chimes in.

Iden glances at you, obviously expecting you to go next.

“I'm going to say moss gathering, a fixed pay rate is a better place to start than gambling on loot, and we might find some loot anyway,” you explain, taking another swig of your drink.

“Makes sense to me, okay, I vote moss gathering too,” Iden nods.

Razi gives an annoyed sigh, as Valia takes a sip of her drink and ends up coughing most of it up.

If you want to talk to your new party, get to know them or anything, now would be the time.

“So where are you three from?” you ask, eying the group.

“Oh, we're from Golden Rock District,” Iden replies, a slight frown on his face.

That's a rough neighbourhood, rougher than you would have guessed for the two of them. Gang territory through and through, makes you wonder about what they did before becoming adventurers.

“We haven't been to Golden Rock District in years,” Razi sighs, drumming her fingers on the table.

“We decided on a fresh start, is all. So we figured adventuring was the way to go.”

You get the feeling that's a small part of the story at most, but it's probably best not to push it quite yet.

“What about you, Valia?”

“O-oh, well, I was in the Bolter Guild, learning magic, but, uh... my grades slipped below the minimum level, and my tutor told me to come back in two years after some practical experience.”

“So you grew up in Spark District? Or just go to join the guild there?”

“I was born there, it- it's not that nice, really, it's not a high district.”

It's close enough in your opinion, and judging by her attempted overpayment for drinks earlier, you're guessing this girl comes from money.

“What about you, Jareth? Why did you decide to do this?” Iden asks.

“Not like I can do anything else, and I figured this would be fun and make me some gold,” you grin, leaning back in your chair.

“Why not just do priest stuff for a living and charge for it?” Razi asks, still looking away, chin on her hand.

“Pretty much anything religious I could charge for the Pleasure Guild already has sewn up as part of their guild's business, and I'd rather not have them crawling up my ass.”

“Yeah, I've heard they can get kind of crazy when they find out people are muscling in on their business,” Iden nods.

“My only other talent is fighting, which means merc work, throwing in with the gangs, or being an adventurer. I think I made the right choice. Now I get to go interesting places, meet interesting people, maybe punch a few of them. You know, adventure stuff.” you grin.

“Y-yeah, that's what I thought too...uh, minus the punching part,” Valia gives an enthusiastic nod, blushing slightly.

Is she tipsy? She's had one sip of beer, and spilt most of it on the table.

“Great, I feel like we've all made a real connection here,” you grin, downing the rest of your drink, pushing back your chair and standing.

Razi rolls her eyes, standing, and Valia bounds up a moment later. Iden gulps down some more of his drink before joining you as you head for the exit.

“So we're going to go see this alchemist now?”

“That's the plan.”

Razi pushes open the door, stepping outside, Valia following behind her. As you go to leave, Iden stops you with a hand on the shoulder.

“Uh, listen, I didn't want to say anything in front of the sorceress, because she seems kind of... you know, but are you going to need to charge up your mana or something before we go? That's what you Elshhuans do, right?” he asks, glancing over at one of the barmaids as she sways past.

“Yeah, good point, give me a minute,” you grin, stepping back into the tavern and glancing around. You spot one of the barmaids wiping down a table in one of the more out of the way corners of the tavern, hair tied back into a loose blonde ponytail, curvy behind wiggling as she works. That'll do it.

You walk over to the corner, stepping up next to the barmaid and sliding a hand down over her hip. She looks up with a start, one you meet with a smile honed by your time studying under your masters.

“If you wanted this table, you can wait until it's done, plenty of other tables to go around” she explains, putting the cloth down and standing, your hand still around her waist.

“Not really interested in the table,” you grin, pulling her in closer, the barmaid giving a stifled gasp as she presses up against you, your hand roaming from her hip down to her plush rear.

“I'm working, Hook gets mad if we slack off,” she gasps, breasts pressed up against your chest, the thin fabric of her top doing nothing to disguise the feeling of hard nipples beneath.

“You're not slacking, just being friendly,” you smile, your exploring palm taking a handful of the barmaid's soft ass. She bites her lip, the two of you pressed up close in the shadows of the corner of the tavern.

“I really can't, not right now,” she gasps, pushing away.

“That's a shame, maybe another time,” you smile, letting her step back, smoothing out her dress.

“We'll see,” she smirks, confidence returning.

You watch the barmaid hurry away, and catch an evil eye from the barkeeper, Hook you're guessing, as you do so. Looks like he's a little protective of his staff.

Giving him a friendly nod, you head back for the door, meeting Iden by it.

“I can't believe she just let you do that.”

“Practice. I'm sure you could do it if you tried,” you shrug.

“I seriously doubt that,” Iden sighs, the two of you stepping outside, meeting the other two members of your party.

“Where were you, I was getting bored waiting?” Razi sniffs, arms folded across her chest.

“I just had to handle something real quick,” you smile, stepping past the group and heading along to the alchemist.

You find it, a dingy corridor above a shop selling novelty codpieces, Rinkest Alchemust Supplies. Huh, so it really doesn't say alchemist. Pushing the door open, you find a store piled high with an assortment of herbs, mushrooms, strange chemicals and dried animal parts, pretty standard alchemical fare.

Behind the counter sits the man who you assume is Rinkest. He's younger than you expected, still suffering some adolescent acne, and seems to be trying to grow a proud wizardly beard, which just looks like he glued some very long pubic hairs to his chin, in all honesty.

>>
>>40280137
“Rinkest?”

“Ah, yes, that's me, Rinkest the alchemist,” he grins, hopping up from his stool.

“You know you misspelled your sign, right?” Iden asks, glancing back at the doorway.

“Oh no, that's right, see, it's Rinkest Alchemust Supplies, because you MUST have them,” Rinkest explains, laughing loud enough at his own joke not to notice that none of you are joining in.

Spotting Razi in the process of opening her mouth you figure this would be a good time to step in.

“I heard you have a job, gathering Finmoss from the tower by Crumbletown, right?”

“Ah, I thought that might be why you were here. Yes, I need enough finmoss to fill this... uh... hold on,” Rinkest replies, disappearing under the counter, rattling around out of sight.

“This box,” he explains, hopping back up clutching a box about the size of your head.

“Sounds doable, what's the pay?” Iden chimes in.

“Uh, well, if you fill the box, with actual finmoss mind you, no padding it out with other stuff, then I will give you fifty gold.”

That seems a little on the cheap side for a job like this.

You let the mana flow, into the muscles of your face, into your vocal cords, into your eyes and tongue, into your movements. Elshhu's grace guiding your movements. Then you look at Rinkest, and wonder why.

“Rinkest, please understand, Crumbletown is not a safe area, and the blue tower is well known to be a haven for strange beasts. While your offer is certainly an understandable one, I think a little increase is in order given the hardships we will no doubt encounter.”

You know this would be more effective if you could keep eye-contact, but you're drawn to that damned beard, the way the scraggly hairs waggle as he breathes, it's horrific and hypnotic in equal measure.

“Oh, well, I suppose that IS fair, I have heard there's some quite vicious things down that way. Okay, how about seventy... no, seventy five gold.”

“Ninety.”

“Eighty, final offer,” Rinkest retorts, jabbing an alchemy-stained hand out at you.

“Eighty it is, pleasure doing business with you, Rinkest,” you smile, shaking the slightly pungent hand.

All of you step back out of the building, Valia clutching the box.

“Goodness, I can't believe you talked him up that much,” Valia gasps, smiling at you.

“Now we get an even twenty each,” Iden agrees, nodding.

Despite the praise, you can't help but feel like you failed somehow.

Ah well, no sense worrying about it now, you have a box to fill with moss, and directions to where you fill it. The question now is how you get there.
