Previously on Sith Academy Quest...

You are Jakdal Zul, a Dathomirian Sith acolyte who is strong in the Force. You have emerged from the tomb of Marka Ragnos after besting the spirit of an ancient warrior. You have caught the eye of Darth Greia and discovered that your friend Fynn is the son of the academy's headmistress, but intensive combat training is scheduled to begin today, and you'll need all your wits to survive in a world where anyone could be a deadly enemy...

You were awoken early and suddenly by the harsh voice of your overseer - a Kel Dor who doesn't need a visible mouth to convey a disapproving snarl.

"Get up, get up! You have five minutes to prepare yourselves - head to the central training room or I'll kill you myself."

Telza, an ornery Chiss, glowers at you, Fynn, and everyone.

"You won't steal the glory today, Jak."

"I haven't stolen anything. Maybe today you'll actually try and take it for yourself." you say.

"Fine - consider our little 'alliance' over, then. I never needed you - and it was a mistake to get help from you."

As much as she seemed to want to fight you, or at the very least cuss you out, five minutes doesn't allow for much conversation.

The central training room has racks with practice vibroswords - and racks with the real thing. It also has metal stations with unfamiliar technology, but you understand that they're probably for maintaining a lightsaber. You remember how odd it felt, the weight of Hazgor's saber in your hand.

"All here? Good. Today, intensive training begins, and the first step is for you to learn the Sith combat styles. First of these, Form I, is the foundation. Mimic my stances, and don't get creative - if you build your style on a lousy foundation, the Jedi will cut you down without a second thought..."

"...and, at ease. You can copy my stances, yes, but it's nothing if you can't apply it. Hit the sparring rings - no Force, just your own combat skills. Kill anyone yet, I kill you. Got it? Good. Pick a partner."

The room, like most rooms in the academy, feels like a mish-mash of present technology and the ancient place it once was. Having gotten up early, and with everyone sore from the Overseer's vigorous exercises, there's a climate of confusion hanging over the acolytes. Moving at random, you point to a Rodian - greenish and greasy.

"Hey, you. Let's spar."

"Yes. Yes spar." it says, nodding. It doesn't seem to have the firmest grasp of basic.

"What are you two doing?" the Overseer shouts at two acolytes who had already hit the ring - they talked often, and seemed to be good friends. The wrinkled Sith waved his hand and the pair was hurled violently into a rack of training vibroswords. "Pull your hits and you'll never be Sith! Again!"

"We no not win." says the Rodian, pointing its sword at you from across the ring you claimed. "Spar very nice." It raises its sword in a salute and begins advancing.

>>
>>40281844
>>40281866
>>40281869

You raise your blade to parry, but the alien's movements are difficult to read - the first blow you have to swing far to deflect, leaving you open to the second - a driving shot to the gut, that leaves you winded. The creature seems to have no intentions of stopping, but you buy yourself a brief reprieve from his impassioned strikes by giving some ground.

The Rodian makes a move to dive and reclaim its blade, an act of bravery that you reward with a swift blow to the gut. It staggers back, clutching its stomach. You begin to think of a good way to repay it for your injuries.

"Kneel." you say, swinging your sword at its throat and stopping just before striking.

"We are lose - we no want -"

"Kneel." You don't raise your voice to a shout, but keep it firm and full of authority. The Rodian's mind appears to be struggling to understand what you're saying, but it falls to its knees. The Overseer watches you, expressionless, but then turns to a more pressing matter.

"Stop that at once!" he shouts. In another ring, an acolyte moans in pain weakly, covered in forming bruises and prone on the floor. Telza stands over her, blade raised. "You are not to kill another acolyte."

"I wasn't trying to, I was just teaching her a -"

"Was that defiance?" he asks. Telza opens her mouth to answer, but is sent into the two friends from earlier - now worn down from being made to beat each other until their arms could barely hold a sword, and all of them tumble to the floor. "You three - go. Meditate on what you learned." He turns to you. "All of you - remember to practice these forms. It is through pain and repetition that you will remember this."

Fynn walks over to you, sporting a black eye and a grin. "I won." he says weakly. "I think I better hit the library, rest a bit."

"Cool. I've got something kinda neat to show you. Also, have you been reading "Paths of the Sith"? It has some really interesting theories about the Dark Side."

"I've read some of it. But about Force Lightning..."

"You want me to blast you with Force Lightning so you can pick it up? Let's go to the library for a bit first. It's really... taxing."

The library is at its fullest, with several acolytes studying for written exams on Sith history, the Force, or political manipulations. An aura of palpable stress hangs in the air. Fynn deftly leads you to a back part of the library, motioning to a locked door.

"This thing is dangerous, Fynn. It's as bad, if not worse than Hazgor. We should stop worrying about it." At this, Fynn fixes his gaze on you, looking into your eyes.

"Do you think I have a weak mind? If you can kill a ghost, then I can at least listen to one." He says. He pauses and turns towards the door again. Although it was weak, the more you think about it, the more the door seems to pull you, the more powerful the darkness radiating from it becomes. "I'm ready. "Let's go."

"Don't worry, I'm fine. Follow me." Fynn leads you out and through the halls. You pass the Rodian, sitting on a bench. He looks up at you and nods.

The tomb Fynn leads you into is mostly empty - it doesn't have any spirits possessing it, and was scoured for artifacts months ago. The Academy will probably expand into it soon. The chamber you're lead into is mostly unadorned, save for four pillars rising in the center of the room, hooking inwards to give the appearance of a clawed hand.

"This is the meditation chamber." Fynn says. "Acolytes and Sith sometimes come here when they need some solitude. And, since it looks like no-one's, um, well - since we didn't walk in on anything, let's get this started. Can you stand over there, please?"

"Sure - let's get this over with now." You say, standing where he points. Fynn takes his place opposite to you, and closes his eyes, focusing his mind in meditation. He appears to be muttering something under his breath repeatedly, but you can't quite make it out. He pauses, and you sense a chill in the air.

Then, the pain. The Force Lightning he casts at you isn't a consistent stream so much as a single, concentrated jolt - and it feels like you decided to take a bath in a boiling lake. You grit your teeth, your body sore all over from the single attack.

"So we're done -" The second volley is longer than the first, dancing over your skin. You let out a pained yell, and it echoes through the empty grave of the dead lord. The third, final hail of bolts seems to be all around you, and at this point you aren't screaming - you're simply silent in your cocoon of agony. Fynn wanders over to a pillar and falls against it, his knees wobbling. Your breaths come in short gasps.

"Yes. You need to focus on the pain. Remember it, live in that moment. Then - you unleash it."

"Keep on believing. The only thing funnier than your delusions is this."

"This? What sort of nonsense - "

You raise your hand and feel the moment of pain. You hold it, an image in your mind.and you feel your hatred of Telza rise to a crescendo. You feel the power of the Dark Side building up inside you and rushing from your arm, and a shower of arcing sparks of blue electricity races from your hand towards your enemy. Telza screams, her limbs tensing up, dropping her sword, before dropping to her knees, panting.

You feel the hollowness of the Dark Side come to you immediately. The same burning emptiness as from the tombs fills you, and you understand why Fynn may have found it so difficult - you feel ice cold, and full of shadows.

"I - I'm sorry. I'll go." the girl says. "She made me come with her, I didn't want to! I'll leave!"

"Thank you. Thank you so much -"

"If you kill her, that is." Her expression returns to the mask of fear that it was. She grips her vibrosword with shaking hands.

"I can't - I mean, I was brought here, I didn't -"

"She hurt you, didn't she? Well I will kill if you don't kill her." She seems to be close to crying. She raises her vibrosword with both hands above her head - then drops it. She staggers backwards, clawing at her throat, looking at you desperately as though to ask for help.

"You... you aren't the only one who picked up a new trick." Telza says. The other acolyte dies, in pain and afraid. "But you're stronger than me. I - I can work for you. I can be a good servant. Just let me live."

"The only way to get good at using it is to build a tolerance to the aftereffects. Once we do, we can start experimenting with it. But I think you're on the right track. Also, when we get back to the academy, look in a mirror."

"Huh?"

"It's nothing, just... something interesting."

"That was horrible. Let's just go back."

"I need to stay here for a while, man. Go on ahead of me."

then we would kill her first and make it look like suicide, plausible, guilt made her either kill herself or she just went insane, she is easier to frame than us.

Guys we are allies right now. It's even less likely we will become true friends due to mutual justified paranoia and romance is nigh impossible
>>
>>40285374

So what? We didn't even mind control her, she was just a weak plaything for us. We didn't directly kill anyone so we should be fine no matter what.

Say something mildly nice
>>
>>40285409
The guilt angle is not going to work.
I agree, the plan is good, it would be nice to use her to get rid of the competition.
Just have to be smart about it, so it doesn`t bite us in the end.

"Okay, I'll go ahead. Try to come back, will you?"

"Of course." Fynn says, smiling. You leave him to do... well, whatever he's doing. The Sith Academy is only a half hour hike from this particular tomb, and despite how horrible and oppressive it looked before - and still looks now, you get some comfort from being in its familiar shadow.

Now, you have some time to yourself to -

eh i back it, and lets check a mirror, maybe we got badass lightning shaped scars running down the sides of our face.
>>
>>40285497
After making her murder a few people we should try to make her write a sad love letter to someone and claim that's it's for a bait to kill said person , rip the part which mention the date/trap and keep the sad part to frame suicide, adding to the whole suicide credibility, also we should kill her with her sword in her stomach sodoku style. Nobody will know.

Too early to start giving Telza orders?

Thing is,there are 8 spots total, so there is a chance we don`t have to kill her ever.
At least this is what we can tell her.

You look at your reflection in the nearest smooth surface - your eyes, once brown, are now a burning, fiery yellow. You've seen this in many other Sith - but now, you have become like them.

The library is still dotted with acolytes pouring over their books. One - a Cathar male, glances at you hopefully, then returns to tapping his foot impatiently with a growing expression of frustration on his face.

there are eight spots but if there's more than 8 people still alive we would risk going into guard training instead which suuuuuuucks

Something's come up - I've got to go attend a Civil War Ball all of a sudden. Fortunately, we seem to be at a good stopping point for tonight. If I'm back within a reasonable amount of time, I'll start this up again - until then, thanks for playing, follow the Twitter for updates on when threads start, and good luck - May the Force be with you.

so, guys, if we're going sorcerer, what new force method should we try to invent first? I'm going for force possession myself.

I don't think we should get bogged down in a class based system if we can help it, but I'd be down with some terrifying Force Illusions. We could conjure up massive images of monsters across battlefields to scare enemy armies shitless.

Or we could go Alchemy and try to make REAL monsters like this
>>
>>40286812
someone explain starwars alchemy to me? never quite understood it.
>>
>>40286843
Nobody really does anon
>>
>>40286812
whynotboth.jpeg?
seriously though, I defiantly think we should go the rout of horrifying mindfuckery, why fight your opponents when you can just turn them into a hollow shell of their former selves or dominate them completely?
>>
>>40286843
it's a mix of science and the dark side of the force you can create awesome laser sword prof armor + you can create new creatures by imbuing them with the dark force and dna bullsith
>>
>>40288073
yeah we have to at least dabble in that, still holding out for master of mindfuckery though.
>>
so what should our first lightsaber be like?
>>
>>40288373
>so what should our first lightsaber be like?
Red.
>>
>>40288406
ha fucking ha, i meant the design. personally, I want a trident
>>
>>40288462
One Blade red
>>
>>40288539
sooo basic lightsaber than? I mean I know we're likely to be mostly focusing on force powers but c'mon
>>
>>40288539
I second this as well. Going anything else is just fucking try-hard bullshit. The original light saber and mastery of the force is all we need to rule with an iron fist and return glory to the sith.
>>
>>40288613
I was thinking of going a bit beyond mastery and into
"actually creating new techniques"
bit of alchemy to cause lightsaber proof armor sounds like a nasty surprise for any traitors
>>
>>40288971
Cortosis already does that well enough. What we need is something that absorbs and channels the force into us, in addition to offering the protection of armor
>>
>>40289334
thats fricken genius, a suit of armor that literally feeds of the opponents force abilities and uses them to buff our own, what would be especially great would be if we could make it a perma buff, but if not it'll still make us frucking terrifying, you cant swing a sword at something so strong in the force it just holds you in place and tears you apart with it after all
