You nod to Djanna and set about making camp, gathering wood for a fire and soon enough the three of you are basking before the low flames. You have a small meal of dried meat and the three of you share a piece of snow sugar after. Emma doesn't move more than arm's length away from you the whole evening, Djanna busying herself with the map and a book that Garush leant her. Occasionally she reads a passage aloud to the two of you, trying to sound out the words and better her understanding of the language. Emma is a better help than you, but you benefit from the lesson all the same. Soon enough, Emma is dozing in your lap, your fingers moving idly through her hair, with Djanna leaning on your shoulder likewise sleeping. Finally, warm and full and surrounded by your kin, you doze off.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You are standing on a bleak, shapeless plain. Snow falls all about you, piling up toward the heavens, beyond the limits of your sight. All about you, paired yellow lights whip by faster than you can see directly, and loud, shrill horns blare each time the blazing orbs fly by you. You whimper softly, tail tucked between your legs as you tremble. You're not sure why, but the scene - the snow, the lights, the sounds - fill you with horrible dread. A sudden clap of thunder above draws your attention and you look up. You hear a sound like none other you'd ever heard, but you still feel abject horror in your soul. From the heavens, screaming towards you, comes a rain of metal boxes, each bearing a pair of the yellow lights, squealing loudly. You smell a sickly sour odor, like the one on Garush's breath when he'd come home after the "talk." You scramble, dodging the rain of boxes as they slam into the ground, dislodging great clouds of snow and sprays of broken metal. You run. You don't think, you just fall to all fours and run faster than you've ever run before.
>>
>>40417967
It's as if the heavens have opened up and have it out for you, the boxes falling faster, each one on impact beginning to blare what might, in another life, have been music. You tremble as you flee, confused and horrified, until the rain ceases and you're standing by the side of a strange road. It's quiet here. You see ahead of you a young girl, dressed very strangely, staring at a glowing flat thing in her hand. You know her, but yet you don't. You sense something horrible is about to happen. There's a spring in her step. A smile. One of the metal boxes comes barrelling up the flat, grey path behind her. She turns, too late. It slams into her, driving her forward, then under the vehicle. You hear screaming. You realize it's you.
The scene is gone, replaced by a flat, lifeless plain. You feel a gentle hand on your shoulder. You look behind you, tears streaming down your cheeks. An old man, half-starved looking, with a shepherd's crook stands behind you, clad in a loincloth and naught else.
"Dear child... it is too soon for you to be here. Why have you come to me?" He reminds you of somebody, but you can't remember at all who. There is sadness in his voice, and genuine concern - love, even - in his eyes.
Cry out in terror and rage at the Metal Boxes!
Also, cry out for the Goldie to come save us.
>>
You throw your arms around the strange man and bury your face in his chest, sobbing desperately as your breath hitches in your throat. He strokes you hair and along your back gently, shushing you. "There there, my dear girl, it's quite all right. There's no need to cry. You are safe now. There is nothing here that will hurt you. You are safe with me, I promise." He holds you in one arm, hugging you tenderly until you calm somewhat. He nuzzles against the top of your head before pulling back and hooking a finger under your chin, tilting your face up to his with a soft smile. "There we are, now. Better?"
You whine softly but nod. The stranger pulls away and gestures with the crook. "Come. Will you walk a while with an old man?" You again nod, and he sets off at a slow pace, the butt of his staff thumping the ground with each step.
"What is your name, child?"
"N-Nadia..."
"A good name. Full of promise. It means hope, does it not?"
You nod, and the old man laughs softly. "Good! So very good... and so very accurate. Hope will be sorely needed, and soon..."
"What do you mean?"
The old man just shakes his head. "I cannot tell you, but... you will know soon enough."
You whine softly. "But... why-"
He shakes his head softly as he keeps his pace. "Nadia, there are certain things I am not able to say. There are... movements at hand, and I am only an observer. I may not interfere. But, you are a bit of a special case. Divided, something strange and wonderful."
You tilt your head in confusion, but he doesn't bother to elaborate.
"Where are we?"
"Hmmmm..." the old man stops, drumming his fingers on his staff for a moment. "I suppose if I had to put a word to it... Ouroburos. The tail of the serpent."
You tilt your head again, whining. Your head is beginning to hurt very, very badly.
>>
>>40418331
"The serpent who swallows his own tail is a symbol for eternity. An unending circle, no beginning or end. We are where mouth meets tail, both beginning and end. Death and life all held in one-"
You're holding your head, whimpering. The old man smiles and embraces you again.
"We're someplace magical that exists and doesn't at the same time."
"But why? I mean, why am I here? Why doesn't it exist? I..."
He shakes his head and lays a finger gently on your lips. "Nadia, my dear, the time your questions will be answered will come. For now, best you just think of this as a bad dream. Forget what you saw here. Someday you will see me again, and when that time comes, hopefully, everything will be much more clear to you."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You bolt awake to Djanna shaking you. "Nadia! Nadia, wake up!"

You feel hot tears streaming down your cheeks. Emma is standing over you, whining in concern as Djanna throttles you, her own eyes wide in fright. You lunge forward, embracing your sister, and Emma joins the group hug a moment later. A long time passes before you calm down enough to explain what happened, and your sisters worry and fret over you, making certain you're all right. A piece of snow sugar and a double helping of breakfast later, and you feel maybe just a little bit more okay. You remember... well, you remember the boxes, and the girl, but not any of why it matters. You still feel unsettled, but as the morning winds on, you're able to bury it deep enough that your usual energetic nature reasserts itself.

You take a quick stock of your supplies, and decide that if you're going to be training for a couple weeks, it might be a good idea to resupply, or at least get friendly with the locals. You gather your gear and douse the remains of your campfire and set off toward the small village. You reach it around mid-morning, finding it quiet save for a few people out and about. They give you odd looks, scurrying about on their way. You try to get the attention of a young man, and he blatantly ignores you, hurrying inside and slamming the door behind him.

What the hell?

Djanna frowns softly, gripping your sleeve. "I... think we should maybe move on."

You shake your head, frowning. "No. We can't just show up and expect this lady to feed us. It's rude. We need stuff. Supplies. Maybe a present or two..." That was just good manners, right? Baltas always said if you're going to ask somebody for something you should bring a gift. You wander about the village, finally finding a small general store. You walk up to the door and push the door open, stepping inside. The fat old man behind the counter turns, his smile falling as soon as he lays eyes on the three of you. He shuffles out from behind the counter, wringing his hands. "Ah, what do you want? We don't have any raw meat, or whatever it is you creatures eat. And no handouts either! And! If you've come to try and rob me, I will call the militia and see you driven out!"

Wait... why... why is he being so mean? You sniffle softly, but the fat storekeep looks unmoved as he crosses his arms over his chest. Emma scowls at the man, moving beside you. Djanna lays a hand on your shoulder.

"But... but I just needed to buy things! Why are you being so mean! What did I do? I... we just need some things to get moving on! Is this how you treat paying customers? And who eats raw meat anyway? Ew! Why are you being so mean? What did I do?"

He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "Fine. Let's see the color of your money." Djanna frowns, reaching into her cape and pulling a leather bag from around her neck. She pulls the drawstring with a claw, shaking out a few silvery coins into her hand and holding them out to the man. You see his eyes widen for the barest hint of a moment before they narrow again. He strokes his chin. "Well... it won't get you much, but let's see what we can do with it."

Soon, a scant handful of items sit on the counter before him. Maybe a few days worth of rations, if you eat sparingly, a small wooden flute, and a bag of pungent, crushed herbs. "This is the best that your coin will get you, I'm afraid. Your money is not so much, you know. Now, if you had gold, on the other hand..."

You whine, looking between the items and the shopkeeper as you shift foot to foot hesitantly. You know he's lying. You're not sure how you know, but you know. Garush told you roughly what a coin was worth, and this surely wasn't it. Djanna steps forward, laying a hand on your shoulder.

"Djanna, he's lyin'. Adults aren't supposed to lie. Make him stop..." you whimper softly. Djanna nods and nuzzles you cheek to cheek. The shopkeeper looks bored. "Look, if you have a problem with my prices, you can move on to the-"

"Actually, I do." Djanna steps up to the counter and crosses her arms, locking her gaze on the man's eyes. She lets small puffs of blue flame lick around her lips as she holds up a silver coin. "Never try and cheat a dragon. First off, what you have here? This wouldn't even make half of the value of this coin. I may be young, but I know the value of money. See, this meat is old, and clearly of a poor quality. I'm guessing it's whatever was left over out of the last batch you had prepared, and given the fact the trading routes through the Skyteeth are in disuse, you probably don't see much business. Now, whether or not you're using that as an excuse to price gouge, or you're just that much of a jerks-ass, I don't know, and I don't care. Now, you can either do business with us fairly, or so help me I will burn your shop down around you and laugh while everything you own is reduced to a charred husk."

DJANNA HAS ACQUIRED THE SKILL:
Intimidation: 1

The shopkeeper swallows deeply and looks back at you, then to Emma, then back to Djanna. Emma claps softly, the sound muffled by her mittens. You're stunned as the dragon girl widens her stance, raising her head to look down her nose at the man.

You look at you sister, awestruck. She exhales softly, a short wave of plasma charring the wooden flute on the counter. You're practically vibrating with excitement as you lay a hand on her shoulder, tail wagging hard.

"Stop hitting me with that thing!" Emma grouches, batting at it.

"Hey, no need to get all angry. I'm sure he just made a mistake, right Djanna?"

The shopkeeper nods, all too eager to avoid the wrath of the dragon. He quickly sets about loading down the counter with what more closely approximates the value of a silver coin. Djanna shakes her head once he's finished loading it down with goods: fresher dried meat, a few jars of poultice, bandages, a length of rope, and a few other sundries. "It's not enough." He looks set to argue, but Djanna just grins, exposing her sharp teeth. He swallows hard and disappears into the back of the shop, returning a moment or two later with a lacquered wooden box. He snaps it open, revealing a a silver hairpin set with polished glass. Djanna stares at it for a few long moments and fishes another coin out of her pouch, smacking them down on the counter.

"We might be back this way again on the way home. I don't think we'll have this kind of trouble again. Right?" The shopkeeper just nods.

============================

"You were amazing!" You lift Djanna off her feet, crushing her in a bearhug hard enough to force the breath from her lungs. She whimpers, huffing.

"I didn't do anything that cool, Nadia! I just did what you asked me to! You noticed we were getting cheated, not me!"

"False modesty." Emma mutters, shifting her pack on her back. "I saw the way you looked at the stuff he was offering. You knew."
>>
>>40419572
"Well... maybe. Still." She shrugs you off and nuzzles you again, setting off side by side with you once again. You walk along the dirt road, the weather this side of the mountains slightly warmer and drier, the ground bereft of snow at the very least. You're headed to a small copse of woods bordering a long river. Supposedly, you would find Emma's trainer here, though where specifically you were to find her you were unsure. By the time night falls, you've reached the woods.

(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VzdqsIp1M8)

A mist has rolled in with the rising moon, blanketing the landscape and filling the forest floor with heavy, almost impenetrable fog. You hear low, keening wailing in the distance, and here and there strange lights flit about between the trees. It makes your fur stand on end, and Djanna seems ill at ease, but Emma seems undisturbed. She even seems to smile, her tails quivering softly as she bounds ahead of you a few steps, sniffing the air softly, even giving a soft, excited yip.

You step forward quickly and wrap an arm around Emma, pulling her back. "This... is this a kitty thing?"

She doesn't answer, but her tails wag and her ears flick in excitement. That's answer enough for you. You hear a ghostly keening deeper into the woods, the lights flitting about between the trees slowly take on different colors: red, yellow, blue, white, green... they'd be pretty if it weren't haunting. You feel Emma's small chest rising and falling quickly as she tries to worm out of your grip. You whine, and that seems to bring her back to her senses. She looks up at you sheepishly.

"I... I don't really know, but this is all familiar to me! I don't exactly remember it, but I... I can smell it! It reminds me of home! C'mon, let's go! I bet we'll find her further in!"

You hesitate a moment, but finally let her go. "Hey! Put a light on so I can find you!" She's already bounded several steps ahead, but stops short with a nod.

"Good idea! Let's see..." She speaks aloud, not her usual muttering, and a brilliant sphere of pink light comes into being, whizzing about her head as if mirroring her own energy. She bounces up and down on her feet, all smiles. "C'mon, let's go!" She runs a few steps ahead, then turns to make sure you're following.
>>
>>40419850
You walk after her, and for the first time you see what it must be like to be around yourself. She dashes ahead of you, ears perked up and tails quivering, only to dash back and tug on your arm, urging you forward. Djanna keeps close to you, whispering to you about how the lights seem to be getting closer the deeper you go into the woods. Eventually, you enter a clearing alongside the river, the moon shining down on a figure clad entirely in white. Seven long, russet tails fan out behind her, a pair of tall ears of similar color poking up inside a white hood. She looks not a day over twenty, but something about her aura tells you she's far, far older. Emma stops short, her breath catching in her chest. The figure smiles beatifically, reaching out a hand.

"I had wondered when you would come back here, dear sister. It has been a very long time..."

Emma stands stock-still before the woman, who simply smiles and drifts over to her, putting her arms around the smaller kitsune and gathering her close. "Welcome home."

Emma doesn't speak, doesn't respond. She seems at a complete loss. The older woman just smiles down at her before looking back at you and Djanna.

"Thank you so much for returning her to me. You have done a great service. In exchange, you may leave undisturbed. The lights will show you the way out."

You frown and step forward, pulling Emma out of the older woman's grasp and hugging her closely to you. She clings to you, looking just as shell-shocked as in the tomb. You glare at the older kitsune. "We stay with Emma. She's our sister too, and we're not goin' anywhere."

The older kitsune smiles sweetly, but there's malice in her eyes. Lights begin to drift out of the forest all around her, dancing about in the air as they converge on her. "Well, now, then it seems I'm in quite the position. See, I'd thought her dead for a very, very long time, and I had thought myself the last of our kind in these lands. I'm not about to let you-"

"And I'm not about to just leave her with you!" You bark, startling the older woman with the ferocity of it. You glare daggers at her, snarling. "The last time she got left with other kitsune, she got stuffed in a crypt and made to play nursemaid to a zombie! So you can... can... go jump in the river if you think I'm just going to leave her alone!"

"Damn right!" Djanna steps up beside you, flames licking at her lips, her tail flailing back and forth. The kitsune looks irritated, but unsure of whether or not she genuinely wants to fight. The lights swirl around her lazily, bobbing about in the still night air.

"Why should I trust you? It's been three-hundred years, and you just all of a sudden show up with my big sister like it's nothing serious, pretending she's something precious to you."

You feel Emma jerk against you. "Three... three hundred..."

"It doesn't matter, damn it!" You growl at her, hugging the trembling kitsune girl close. "I didn't kill a zombie to save her, or hunt through a spooky tomb to find her after she got lost just to turn her over to somebody I don't know! She's family and we're keeping her safe! I don't care if she's three-hundred years old and still a cub!"

"Wait..." Djanna slowly looks to the kitsune, then to Emma, then back to the older woman. "Did you say 'three hundred?'"

The older woman nods. "Yes. It was three-hundred years ago that she vanished. It was a stormy night. I remember it like it was yesterday, because that scene is as vivid in my mind as any nightmare. We were asleep, the family that is, when there was a loud hissing sound. Suddenly, fire erupted around us. Mother and father tried to get us all out, but... not all of us made it. The last I saw of Emma, a man in white-" Emma cries out, burying her face in your stomach "-was dragging her deeper into the forest. I tried to follow, but... there were other people there too. Hunters, from the look of them. Disgusting... vile..." Rage contorts her features for but a moment before she calms, exhaling deeply. "I hid. I was only a child, what else could I have done?" She sounds as though she's trying to convince herself more than anyone else. "When I returned home the next morning, there... there was nothing left. Our home was ash, and my kin... the scent of blood overpowered everything..."

Djanna shivers, still watching the woman carefully. Emma has a death grip around your waist.
>>
>>40420291
"I looked. Gods help me, I looked, but in the end... a child can only do so much. I vowed to grow strong, to have my revenge... bt in the end, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Mother, the rest of my kin... they had always been soft of heart. They would have wept if I'd answered their blood with blood. And so, here I remained for three-hundred years, tending what was once my home."

"But... that doesn't make sense. She's only six months, she said. A year, maybe, at most... maybe?" You look down at Emma, stroking her hair gently, a worried whine in your throat.

The older kitsune shrugs, her tails swishing gently in the breeze. "I do not pretend to understand it... but I will not question fortune. My sister has returned, and I don't intend to let her out of my sight again. Now, give her over to me. Please. If you care so for her, I would hate to see you harmed."

You stroke Emma gently, crouching down and gathering her up into your arms. You take a step back, and Djanna all but unconsciously steps in front of you, the light gathering deep in her throat. The kitsune curses, her nails seeming to harden into claws as she faces down the two of you. You reach out with an arm and pat Djanna's shoulder. She looks back at you and you shake your head. You cradle Emma against you, tutting softly and petting her from ears to the base of her tail.

"Emma, sweetheart, listen. I know you're upset right now, but Djanna and I aren't going anywhere, no matter what the mean old kitty says, all right?"

"What did you just-"

"Shh!" You glare at the older woman and resume petting Emma. "Remember, we came here to train, all right? There's nothing to be afraid of. If she's really your sister, this might be a good time to talk to her. Get some of your memories filled in. When we're done, we can leave, or if you want to..." you swallow deeply. "...you can stay, but-"

She throws her arms around your neck, shaking her head desperately. "I wanna stay with you I wanna stay with you..."

The older kitsune looks heartbroken, her tails sagging. The lights blink out of existence, leaving nothing but the moonlight to illuminate the four of you. She frowns and turns her back to you, walking to the water's edge. She's silent for several long moments as you cuddle Emma. Djanna moves to you, laying a hand on the younger kitsune's back, nuzzling the back of her head.

"I really thought... you'd want to stay."

You look up at the kitsune as she pulls back her hood, turning back to the three of you. Half of her face is a network of burn scars, half of her ear charred away. There are tears in her good eye, the illusions that concealed her disfigurements gone. "I never worried about healing them. I wanted them as a reminder of... of how I'd failed. And now, you don't even... or won't even... Emma, I'm so..." Tears stream unhindered down her cheek, and you feel warm wetness on your chest where the small kitty's own tears fall.

You carry Emma over to the larger kitsune and throw an arm around her as well. She looks down at you in shock as you nuzzle up under her chin, reaching up and running a paw over her hair. She stiffens, but soon melts under your touch.

"Listen... nothing's set in stone yet. There's a lot Emma doesn't remember, but give it time. If you try to force it, you're just going to scare her. Besides, Uncle garush said we were supposed to find you anyway! You can teach Emma to be a better kitsune, right?"

The older girl blinks slowly with her good eye. "Garush? He's still alive? I was sure he'd be at the bottom of the sea somewhere by now..."

You shake your head slowly. Emma seems to have broken out of her reverie, looking up at the older girl with a skittish look in her eyes. "No, he's alive and well! Loud and angry!"

She laughs softly, nodding. "That sounds like him all right. He really thought I could help train her?"

You nod, setting Emma down on the ground. She doesn't quite cling to you, but she does hold onto your sleeve, looking up at the elder girl.

"That's just like him. Never forgets a pretty f-" The words die on her lips and she smiles ruefully, shaking her head. When she looks back to you, the scars are gone, replaced once more by illusion. She didn't even chant or speak at all.

"Well... let's not linger here. I'll take you home for now. We can get some sleep and talk a little bit more. Besides, Emma should pay her respects."

You tilt your head as the older woman sets off through the woods. You, Djanna, and Emma traipse behind. "Respects?"

The older girl nods solemnly, her hands clasped in front of her. "Even if she doesn't remember, it's good manners to greet the lord and lady of a house when you come to visit. Even if it's just a memorial stone."

Calling it here for tonight. Keep the thread bumped and I'll pick up again for a bit before D&D tomorrow. Thanks for coming everyone, and sorry as always for the weird hours.

Besides, you're looking to get some mid-tier weaponry when we're just starting out? Rollplay harder, munchkin.

I personally would love to do more of an Aztec themed jungle/cave hunter Paladin with a Shamanistic connection to the gods instead of the usual Smite and Smash.

In the end, though, it's just a fucking weapon. We should be having fun with this game, not trying to shadowrun the fuck out of "muh armour".

Lotus could not have us run into armoured guys, or we could get blessings that give us AP, or we could defeat our enemies without just constantly rolling combat.

Most armoured opponents are killed by taking them down and stabbing them in the face, anyways. Oh look, we do grappling, that's perfect for that.

Assuming there's even a mechanical difference between a sufficiently skilled unarmed user (with natural weapons) and a sufficiently skilled weapon use, which I doubt, god powers and evolutions will more than make up for it.

Relevance doesn't mean something can't be annoying. If anything, the relevance resulting in it being brought up again makes it *more* annoying.

I don't want our character to be defined by our weapon, Anon. That's why I ultimately don't want the hammer. That'll turn every engagement into "roll to hit with your hammer".

Dude, imagine if we had rolled up a stealth character.

Personally, I think that we can deal with the grappling well enough, and we DO have some holy roller bullshit going on. Blind the guy, knock him down, stab him in the face.

Or Djanna blasts him with her breath weapon.

Or Emma sneaks behind him and stabs him in the back of the knee.

I'm just saying the hammer isn't the only option, and in all honesty I kind of think it's the lazy option.

. . . Yet descriptions of fights with specialized weapons designed for fighting plate armor, such as pole-axes and maces, reveal even they were able to pierce through armor only infrequently. More often they were effective in simply denting and cracking armor to stun and bruise the wearer into a vulnerable condition. But, given strong effort and a hit to the right spot, a rigid point stabbing strongly could puncture armor even if its cutting edge would not. (See: "Medieval Armor: Plated Perfection" in Military History, July 2005).

I think our best bet for dealing with armour is just to git gud. Monstrous strength + blessings + wrestling means we could probably bare-handed knock dudes in plate armour about, especially if we keep up with our "Get Huge!" training regimen.

Bracers for deflecting bladed edges would probably fit us better at this point, or mail gloves so we can even grab the blades (an actual historic move that was quite common).

>>40421762
THANK you for finally constructing a well made arguement, however that pretty heavily relies on a time scale, we should at least grab something we can use decently now, even if we dont intend to use it for very long. The arm-shields idea has merit though, we'll have to look into that
>>

People crying because they can't play D&D with an average statted character, or with a dump stat that gives them minuses.

"But it's not FAIR if he has a fighter with 18 strength and I only have 11"!

Ultimately, I personally came away with the conclusion that I should never play D&D with people from /tg/. I LIKE not playing characters who can just walk through shit like it's nothing all the time. Maybe the DM will let me quest for a magical item to increase my stats. Maybe I'll face a choice where I could do the right thing, or sacrifice something/one for a stat boost.

Personally, I view stats as flavour text to help describe what my character can do.

I'm not against using point buy either, but that's usually for one-shots so I can play a specific character to have fun with.
>>
>>40421706
I don't think anyone has said to do nothing, though I haven't been paying that much attention.
>>
>>40421782
Then we're honestly probably back to a basic spear/staff combo. Easy to make, easy to learn, and we can probably integrate it into a martial arts regime. Which will definitely include wrestling, like all serious martial arts do.
>>
>>40421762
>More often they were effective in simply denting and cracking armor to stun and bruise the wearer into a vulnerable condition
That's more than enough for us.
Knocking them down or impairing gives us time to organize plans that doesn't involve armor piercing.

>I think our best bet for dealing with armour is just to git gud. Monstrous strength + blessings + wrestling means we could probably bare-handed knock dudes in plate armour about, especially if we keep up with our "Get Huge!" training regimen.
You preety much said what I wanted. You could concussion an armored humanoid enemy to oblivion, but our hands would hurt. Having a tool doesn't hurt, at least that's my opinion.

Continuing, though, I would still prefer to go with the Machuaitl since so far civilization seems to be bullshit, humans have been assholes to us so far. Jungle Monster Aztec Shaman go! I won't lie, my entire reasoning for this is that I think it will be fun.
>>
>>40421804
What I was proposing was to use the hammers as an anti-armor tool, not a primary weapon, but if you want to main polearms I'm fine with it.

>Having a tool doesn't hurt
It does. If you're swinging around a heavy hammer with literally-monstrous force into very solid objects, your hands will get bruised and blistered very fast.

Our durability will probably increase quite quickly, though, both due to being a physical-type monster and due to god blessings.
>>
>>40421882
>It does. If you're swinging around a heavy hammer with literally-monstrous force into very solid objects, your hands will get bruised and blistered very fast.
I guess you're right, but aren't we monsters? Judging by our growth rate we could become adequetly swole enough to swing weapons easily.

>Our durability will probably increase quite quickly, though, both due to being a physical-type monster and due to god blessings.
And the extra weight could help us in naturally training ourselves!
If we drop the hammer/spear/whatever heavy weapon when speed is needed...

Nah, I just meant that we don't really have access to that many weapons or anything, and spears are easy beginner level stuff to do.

Although an Atlatl and Tlacochtli would be awesome especially since we're a strength build. Short spears + a launcher = crazy effective throwing weapon. Seriously, Atlatl is OP as fuck.

> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYas53pGGKg

Easy to make, with basic supplies. Skip to 3:00 to see a dude throw it for the first time ever and rock it.

Or we could also use a Huitzauhqui which is essentially a two-handed hardwood mace with obsidian shards all over it. Smashy AND stabby.

Buuuuuuut we can still get an Atlatl, yeah? Pretty easy to make, 300 year old Kitsune might have seen it, it'd be pretty cool . . . . .

JK, save that for a power up. Right now we could probably rock throwing spears pretty hard.

I . . . . what?

I just meant it would be rather meta to hope that a Japanese monster living in Not!Europe would know of a South American weapon?

Also, no sense going OP right away, when we can learn to use spears first and then maybe have a divine being show us how to use them even better with a simple wooden slat.

I don't know where I'm giving that up for a quick travel (??) Item?
>>
>>40422215
Some ass hole wanted a flail and now we've got people sperging about appropriate weapons.

Flavor is lost in favor of weapons that won't actually make a difference when push comes to shove.

She kept the wounds to remind her of her fuck ups. That might imply that she can fix it on her own.

She may not want the damage removed.

Rank one is hardly prodigious. You'll get a roll, but centuries-old scars? Well, my outlook is far from optimistic.

And seriously. I'm just going by Spider here, but if long-distance communication is an issue, actual long-distance teleportation is a no-go. Besides, it makes things too easy if you can just pop in and out of reality wherever you want to go. Great for RPGs, but for narrative games, a bit OP. Same with true, mass-availability resurrection. Right out.
>>
>>40422237

> Bhuddist Palm Strike

Focus the energy of your strike to pass through armour, damaging the internal organs of your enemies!

> Shattering strikes

A rapid series of blows creates a resonance with each other that results in armour cracking and warping, either slowing the enemy or falling off their bodies outright!

> Ripping Kobolds Claw

Rip & Tear! Grab a piece of armour and rip it off someone, popping rivets and tearing apart leather straps. YOU ARE THE HUGEST!

> Heavy Blow

A two-handed strike that can dent armour, bruising the flesh beneath or even breaking bone.

So many options, Anon, just gotta pick your flavour.

>>
>>40422391
>Focus the energy of your strike to pass through armour, damaging the internal organs of your enemies!
holy energies won't damage non-abominations.

>A rapid series of blows creates a resonance with each other that results in armour cracking and warping, either slowing the enemy or falling off their bodies outright!
Trying to use resonance to shatter something would require you to hit it with rediculous impact or highly precise blows, which is very unlikely for a biological entity can pull off. If you had that much strength or dexterity, you would be just better off outright crushing the armor or stab a large dagger through open joint holes in armor.
>>40422391
>Rip & Tear! Grab a piece of armour and rip it off someone, popping rivets and tearing apart leather straps. YOU ARE THE HUGEST!
If you're pulling at that force it's likely you'll just pick up the poor sod rather than ripping his armor off.

>A two-handed strike that can dent armour, bruising the flesh beneath or even breaking bone.
This I can deal with, but proper weapons will do this job better.
Also take in mind, as >>40422413 said, using bare fists to fights gives you huge disadvantages against someone with weapons. Unless we grab something like a gauntlet.
>>
>>40422427
We've only talked to one really, so far, and he seemed cool.

>>
>>40422651
>Relax about it.
B...but muh character survival
>>
>>40422571
>Explain further.
Before the blade can get past the muscles, they grab the piercing weapon in question by flexing, before expelling it violently, potentially into the attacker depending on the situation. Bleeding from the skin being cut or muscle damage isn't a concern because the power of FLEXING prevents such things.
>>
>>40422759
>Implying they wouldn't just catch the tip of the blade under a pectoral or in an abdominal, flex to snap it off, then flex again to launch it back at the assailant with killing force as they clap their glutes to play a sick drum solo.
>>
>>40422759
>>40422775
Is this even physically possible?
I'm baffled by sheer...
you know what, I'd better ask /fit/ or /k/ for this.
>>
>>40422803
A humans pectoral should be able to do the actual against really brittle blades, it doesn't seem like steel is common here tough, so you are more likely to bend it instead.

I highly doubt a set of abdominal muscles can do the same, they would need to be so large you can't really flex them any longer.

No matter how buff you get, your skins is just skin, you are going to get lacerations doing this. And you are also likely to just catch the sharp edge and wedge it further into your muscles.

Kobolds or other fantasy critters tough, who knows
>>
So I got here late to the sperg party and just want to say that I don't want Nadia to pick up spears/halberds/flails/weird mexican axes/etc for any length of time.

Monkbold excels with being all monky. If people are really worried about needing some means to outrange a plated guy then my vote is for a staff of some sort.

Other than that I'd just like to see Nadia use environmental advantages to win. She's more than capable of picking up rocks and pelting an assailant for starters and if she just wanted to keep out of range of an armoured opponent I find it hard to believe they won't tire of chasing her in circles before she does.

Not to mention that if Djanna's around she can just cook them with her breath attack.
