You are Sol Prementus, called by your people "The Dark Sun", a title you have fervently taken as your own secondary name. You were made in a pod, by a being of power beyond any mortal man, and filled with a spark of that same beings power. Sixteen years ago your pod landed on the shattered world named Kilionos, a planet where humans were constantly in fear of mutant and Ork attacks. Your coming changed everything though. Through your transhuman intelligence, charisma, and willpower, you have pushed this world from the brink of death and to the heights of power. Its people, in massive hive cities, are protected by soldiers and technology of the finest quality. Its economy flourishes under your absolute military rule, and its people no longer fear the monstrosities outside of their walls. You have recovered ancient technology, found powerful relics, and created a fleet and military far above anything it ever had in the past. Currently your massive fleet of 100 ships, led by your flagship "Invictus" is:

>Facing off against the ork rok's and ships on the shattered side of Kilionos
>Cleansing the radioactive moon of Orks
>In orbit of Kilionos II facing off against the Orks as ground troops are deployed

In fairness that quest is five years old so I doubt that anyone will be confused.

No the quest author of that quest ended it and tied up all the loose ends.

A successful quest doesn't have to be a 100+ Thread juggernaut stretching 4+ years.

>>40480148
I was confused when I searched up the sup/tg/ archives.

Alright anons were facing off against the Ork fleet on the other side of Kilionos. I give you two choices:

Roll 2d20 anons
>Battle just started
>Middle of the Battle
>>
Rolled 1, 10 = 11 (2d20)

>>40480234
>>Battle just started
>>
Rolled 5, 5 = 10 (2d20)

>>40480234

Middle of battle, we obviously have ambushed them for maximum strategic value.
>>
Rolled 2, 14 = 16 (2d20)

>>40480234
>Middle of the battle.
>>
Rolled 2, 19 = 21 (2d20)

>Middle of the Battle
>>
I have to say I think this quest has moved a wee bit fast with a lack of proper choices. I mean basically we seem to be getting a lot of stuff for free and a lack of meaningful choices in the ways of world building and character development. Basically we pick something to do, with the point is of getting a really big reward, do it without much of a problem, and then the next thread we have somehow gained more power without no real effort or player choice. I personally feels like this cheapens the quest somewhat and makes one lest focused on the whole of it since in the end we will get stuff.
>>
>>40480330
well you gave your opinion in a honest and civil manner. So thats something to be proud of.
>>
Rolled 7, 17 = 24 (2d20)

>>40480234
>Battle just started
>>
>>40480330

We're a Primarch on a backwater world, man. There's not really much here that can threaten us or compete with our planning.

This will change once we are introduced to the galaxy through Dad. I think OP is doing a great job of keeping the quest moving and keeping these Primarchy without getting bogged down.
>>
>>40480330
Welcome to a Lorenth quest.

Please fasten your seat belts and enjoy your power trip.
>>
Rolled 5, 11 = 16 (2d20)

>>40480234

>middle of battle
>>
>>40480370
Not saying we should not wreak stuff and then buttfuck it with a chainsword if we happen to be a Primarch. What bothers me is the lack of proper interaction with the world and worldbuilding. I have no idea how the people of the planet are, how things look, what traditions and believes they have. We've done nearly no empire building as well with the planet. What it feels like to me that we've come down to is "We've got stuff" and that's it.
>>
>>40480418
this is more the QM wanting to hurry us to the galactic scale. I personally agree with you that I would have loved to have dedicated many more threads to the conquering of the planet and development of our home but in the end it's the QMs call.
>>
Rolled 8, 13 = 21 (2d20)

>>40480234
>Battle just started
>>
>>40480330
>>40480418
Well thats only for now, since im timeskipping us to the meeting with the emperor. See it'll be almost 60-100 years before the emperor and the crusade reaches us, and we agreed in thread one(if im correct)that there would be a good bit of timeskips. Ill slow things down a very good bit when we meet the emperor and join the great crusade. Then we can meet our brothers, get to know them and the emperor, design our legion and more. Ive skipped over alot of stuff that could uselessly bog us down, and focused more on getting us to eventually meeting our legion. Considering none/most of the other primarchs "failed" at what they wanted to do, I figured it would be very unlike our primarch to fail at stuff.

In short im just trying to get us to the great crusade before I slow down a bit, not make it unnecessarily slow with time wasted on other things.
>>
>>40480418

I mean, OP does include status updates on the progress of our world. SP has turned them into a thriving people with starships and 15 years ago they were slaves to Orks.

We haven't been interacting much with human people though, which is kind of a weakness of the quest. Our MC is kind of autistic though, I doubt he hangs out with the normal people too often anyways.
>>
>>40480473
If our primarch is unlikely to fail, they why was he removed from all imperial records?
>>
>>40480473

I think it's a good strategy so don't worry about it.
>>
Why does everyone assume the MC is autistic? The MC and by extension all anons in this thread have done nothing to give that impression.

>>40480492
why does GW do what it does?
>>
>>40480492
>The emperor, stunned by the fact that one of his sons is better than him in almost everyway, has the entire XI legion exterminated by the combined might of 9 legions

Nah, at worst we are annihilated during the horus heresy, if that doesnt happen we make it to the next age but something happens.

>>40480552
*Shrugs*
>>
>>40480552

It's just a joke because we're technically minded and haven't been taking the charismatic route to leadership.
>>
>>40480573
Yep. We are the highest of high-functioning autistics.
>>
>>40480473
Oh I do not mind the timeskips at all. After all 100 years of threads seems a wee bit excessive to me as well! However it's the lack of two things that bothers me.

Firstly the lack of interaction and development of our character and others. I can not name a single character besides our own as of yet. That makes the quest kind of like a black and white movie with no sound. Sure it works to look at but it lacks substance.

Second problem is Empire Building. We are suppose to be a ruler but I do now know what we rule. Sure there has been a mention of four hives but more than that there is not much to go on. Do we have a primary manufactury? Do we have a ruling council that helps us? Things like that.

I know I at lest would like some more input on Empire managing stuff and character development. But that could probably be worked in to when we wipe out the last remaining threat in the Orks.

On the other side of the world Kilionos, in the space whole world use to inhabit, a large battle rages. Lasers, torpedoes, and missiles fly through the empty space, fired from kilometer spanning battleships decorated with symbols of a black sun. These ships are large and powerful looking, seemingly shielded by black flames as they fire massive deadly payloads from their broadsides. At their head is a relic from an ancient time, a ship far older than all those present and yet dozens of times more powerful. It is wreathed in black flames, with red glimpses of energy running along its hull, like an eclipsed sun with only pieces of its hidden flame visible. From it shoot massive beams of powerful red lightning, looking like massive burst of energy from a star. It advances slowly and purposefully, controlled by the mind of a being both man and above it.

This mighty warfleet, both among stars and yet looking like stars themselves, faces a massive host of enemies. The asteroids they face sprout massive gun emplacements, firing massive shells that pierce shields and cripple whole ships. Along with them are are massive brutal ships, seemingly scraped together from scrap and forced together. They fire even larger shells than their Rok cousins, unceasing in their slow and steady approach. The two fleets face off in a battle that could be termed climactic, the raw destruction having never been seen in the planets history since its crust was partially destroyed.

(1/2)

When I think of Sol, all I can think of are the Solars from Exalted. Their thing is doing the impossible, what if that's Sol's thing too?

In a way, it already is I suppose. I mean, he's a human (okay, Primarch, but still) who managed to use weapons barely better than Ork weapons and did so by using willpower.

He's getting visions (though not necessarily of the future) and he's not an Eldar Farseer.

His psyker powers are, while not technically impossible, have never been seen or heard of in canon.

He's discovering DAoT tech left, right and center then figuring out how to use it.

Sol is doing the impossible, because he wills it to be possible?
>>
And at the center of the fighting is you. Invictus shakes and rumbles as it pushes on, undaunted by the massive shells fired at it as its superior shields protect it from blows that would have crippled other ships. And yet currently it is in danger. No less than three of the largest present ships, each only slightly smaller than invictus, are attacking it at once due to a minor miscalculation on your part. On both sides a massive space hulk and your ship trade broadside fire, while from the front a massive Ork ship charges at full speed with its guns firing. As you sit in your seat, the ship shaking from the constant barrage, you observe hundreds of damaged areas. A cannon has been disabled in one area, a portion of the void shield breached in another, and chunks of the sides of the ship have been destroyed.Sadly you cannot focus the void shields from the front, les you risk your ship destroyed by the steady fire from the Ork craft ahead. This is a very bad situation, and you immediately mentally determine the current state of the ship...

(Invictus)
Shields:39%
Hull:58%
Guns destroyed along left side:27/60
Guns destroyed along right side:29/60
Lightning cannon charge:45%
Engines: Fully operational

The situation looks grim to say the least, but this does not daunt you. A lesser man would panic, take foolish actions, or even abandon ship. You though, are far above any mere mortal, and the number of tactical options available to your mind are virtually limitless.

He's the embodiment of the emperor's will, aka the guy who can destroy suns, so it makes sense he can do that for Ork weapons

Konrad curze had visions, Rogal dorn had visions through the pain glove, Sanguinis had foresight, Magnus had visions, and Sol is a Psyker like them. Also(if im correct)the emperor can see the future and had visions as well.

As for his psyker powers...meh hes a primarch and this is non-canon

He landed on a world full of DAOT tech due to your ten in first thread for planet tech level

He's doing what is mostly reasonable, due to having the willpower and skill to find it. Also he's one of the techy primarchs, kinda his whole gig to find out how that stuff works.

After examining hundreds of factors, ranging from ship size to the smallest weakpoints in the void shields, you determine the most tactically sound option. You immediately send you will throughout the entire ship, and begin defensive manuevers. As the two Orks fire on your broadsides you direct a large amount of power to the void shields and station them in both sides of the vast ship. This takes away from the forward defense, saving your ship from the side assaults but risking destruction from the lance strike of the Ork ship on front of you. You have prepared for this though, and channel your will to the lightning cannon. You push the lightning cannon's power to 50%, and begin charging it for a forward attack. The black flaming ship is suddenly lit with red energy, running around the black flames with uncontained energy. You focus ahead, the front flames of the ship parting as lightning forms on its front. The energy takes the ork projectiles hitting the front, and magnetically reverses them at an impossible speed. The shells fly back at the ork ship and impact its front, dealing massive damage to it.

The shells though are nothing next to the lightning cannons attack. Out of the front of your ship the lightning cannon fires, a beam of red energy that emulates an eruption from a star itself. The crackling beam of lightninf flies through space and impacts the front of the ork ship in a steady stream of arcing lightning. The ork ships shakes as power arcs through it, causing the explosion of dozens of areas along its massive bulks. The engines explode, blowing out the far back of the ship as they are overloaded by power, and the many guns fall silent instantly, their users either fried to a crisp or utterly brain dead.

With one Ork ship down you are able to focus on the two ships pounding your broadsides with relentless fire. Even at this moment one of your sides suffers a shield breach, the storm of shells slowly making way through the shields.

OP already said that we're gonna fall/end up erased from the records/whatever and that this will, more or less, remain canon, but...

I don't really want that. I won't complain and throw a hissy fit or anything, and I know that it's about the journey not the destination, but it would be nice t know that we actually made some significant changes and that Sol actually mattered.

I mean, if by the end of it nothing Sol did actually changed anything, why bother? Hell, it's a Quest anyway why bother sticking to canon?

I don't really want to do that. Why not let us change stuff and see what the results are?

Ah, screw it. OP made their decision and I'm just complaining for the sake for complaining.

I dunno, I'm hoping that we can kind of change his mind as the quest moves forward.

Half the fun of using established settings is screwing them all up so I don't see why Sol wouldn't have a big effect on the Heresy and what have you.

>Nah, at worst we are annihilated during the horus heresy, if that doesnt happen we make it to the next age but something happens.
I'm sort of compelled to try to fuck canon as well, but whatever.

At worst we could skirt around our legion getting scoured from history by building a secret empire in the Halo Stars.

I know, right? If we're going to stick as close to canon as possible, why bother making decisions? Why bother doing the quest in the first place?

I remember in the old, original Lost Primarch Quest when the OP said that things would more or less remain canon I was disappointed. I mean, if you're going to try to make sure that whatever we did didn't actually change anything, why give us such an important, influential character as a Primarch? Why not just make us 'random Imperial Guard no. 391091293?'
>>
Does anyone know how to archive this? It would suck for people who missed this thread to not know what happened.
>>40486412 We're going to fuck canon without even taking it to dinner first, but we haven't agreed on how yet.
>>

Well, at the very least we'll probably at least try to be friends with Pertuarbo.
We MIGHT make an attempt to get rid of the Nails in Angron.
And Magnus will probably be our bro.
And some people have expressed an interest in teaming up with Curze allot so that's a thing we can try.

I archived it for Kraven. Hopefully I didn't fuck that up.

Thanks for that. I would have done it, but I don't have firefox, and I'm not a very techsavvy man.
>>
>>40486748

That would be nice to see happen, instead Girlyman and Dorn or someone else turns traitor, fuck canon all up, and no codex astartes.
>>
>>40486748
Angron's going to be a weird case. He's only known battle since the day he was born. I have no clue what that'd do to a person, even when we remove the butcher's nails. Maybe we could go bowling go a death world and have a cookout sometime, after we kill the resident giant lizard.

According to the rolls, horus is still going traitor, but he might not be the focus of the heresy this time around. After all, there's plenty of guys that were really competent in canon that are turning traitor this time around. And the only thing scarier than chaos, is organized chaos.

It is gonna be GirlyMan, he gonna be jelly we made a bigger and better Empire then him. Even when we had it much worse then he did. He is gonna feel like we are replacing him. I wonder if Horus we still be named Warmaster? I don't think we will be.
>>
>>40487137
Gravy boat is going to have his work cut out for him if we get our way and Perturabo, Vulkan, Ferrus Manus, and ourselves start producing military assets alongside the Mechanicum. Magnus can come too. Builders and Smiths gonna fuck your shit up.
>>
>>40487137
Well, we didn't really have it worse than him. I mean, yeah, we had a shitton of orks and mutants on our planet, but we also had scraps of DAOT tech lying around. That shit is crazy good.

Hell yeah son. Iron without, Iron within.
As my loss is grievous, so my hope is small,
For Iron -- Cold Iron -- must be master of men all.
