Your name is Shane Morris. You are just now getting out of the hospital.

Following a technically successful escape from what you might describe as a Necromancer Lair in the dungeons of Hogwarts, you were hospitalized for a week. Now you're out and even though you should be taking the time to catch up on school work you have other things on your mind.

Even though government officials showed up, no one was arrested, meaning there are still dark wizards at the school, and they are angry, specifically at you. The girl you saved from them has also not yet made a full recovery which puts you a bit ill at ease.

Finally there was the get well card you received from the secret society called the Order of the White Marigold.

You're pretty sure they don't arrange flowers.

Something tells you they're not done with you either for better or worse.

The night of your return there's a party for you in the Ravenclaw commonroom.

You're trying to have fun, but everything on your mind keeps you distracted. So distracted in fact that you don't see Lom come up to talk to you. You jump a little when he starts to speak.

“Shane. I wanted to say that, well, in this case, I'm sorry. I treated you really unfairly, and in the end you were a lot braver than me. You saved Jenny, even though I was right there, and I couldn't. I'm so sorry.”

He looks almost on the verge of tears.

>It's okay. No harm done.
>You're still an asshole
>The aurors were looking for you, I covered for you. You owe me.

@Tiddlybum_HE announces these threads before they start.

This quest is based on this system http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Tabletop_RPG

You still have 2 unspent Perks which can be found in the books linked above.

“It's okay. No harm done. But the aurors were asking for leads and I kept quiet even though I knew you know something. Just... try to be a little better from now on.”

“I... don't know what I can do. It's not easy to just leave. But you maybe one of their targets, but I'll always be on your side.” With that Lom scampers off through the crowd.

You'd like to say that that conversation put you at ease, but it didn't. You are, against your better judgment, a bit worried for Lom. And it seems like you were right. You are on their shitlist.

The next day things return to normal. And as a Ravenclaw that means studying.

Study [Charms]

also voting for taking
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

Since we were sick for a week we need help catching up...also claws going to claw and all that.
>>
You spend the next two weeks engrossed in charms work, and as the second week is ending, you finish the book!

>Charms up to rank 1
>Learned Engorgement Charm, Mending Charm, Shrinking Charm, Unlocking Charm, Warming Charm

Your make up homework is done and you've still kept up on classes. All in all these two weeks have been really good.

Now everything is starting to calm down, because tonight is Halloween.

You were very disappointed that wizards don't dress up (or are they all already dressed as wizards?), but they do get a big feast. You've also heard there's a big party somewhere, but only the upper years get to go, or rather are invited. Technically if any of the teachers knew then everyone would be in trouble no matter what year they were in.

Anyway it seems like everyone around here takes Halloween very seriously.

No classes today, and the library is closed so only so much studying you can do.

Ask them about the Order of the White Marigold.

Also can you link to the thread in the twitter in the future?

I'm with this guy. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff is a good perk and I think it's about time we chose at least one.

You go off in search of any mirror club people you can find.

You happen to find someone who is also in your Herbology club, Theo, one of Linus' roommates.

“Hey, Theo, hows it going?”

“Really good. You doing better now?”

“Yeah. Listen, has the mirror club found anywhere new to hangout?”

“Oh yeah, you know the portrait of Silneus the Jumpy? Under the kitchen stairs? Password's figgligig.”

“Thanks. Happy Halloween.”

With this new knowledge you set off for the new mirror club room. When you arrive the portrait lets you through into what is almost like a normal school cafeteria. Tile floor, long mess tables with built in benches, bright lights, even a serving station set into the wall, though it has a curtain pulled with a sign saying 'Closed for Feast'.

Off to one side you see Linus in the middle of one of his, at this point, very well known, bawdy songs. You decide to let him finish before walking over.

“Hey, Linus, how are you doing?”

“Great! How do you like the new diggs?”

“They're a bit ugly I'll be honest, but does that server station actually work?”

“Not today, but the rest of the time. And they'll make anything you want, no matter how crazy, I got a 1001 flavor, single scoop ice cream yesterday.”

“Cool.”

You spend the rest of the day playing exploding snap and joking in the club room. Toward the end of the evening Alex shows up. He had been busy doing some homework he had forgotten about. Namely, all of it for the week.

When it comes time for dinner, the entire club goes together.

The sky is extra stormy tonight, swirling and thundering in a way that's perfect for Halloween. Bats are flying around, and there's floating candles, and pumpkins.

The food is great, though the thunder from the enchanted ceiling is so loud that it makes it hard to talk occasionally.

More Coming

You now have the Don't Sweat the Small Stuff Perk.

Then, as dessert is coming to an end, suddenly there is a new sound. Soft at first, a whistling from beyond the great hall. Then a BANG that sounds distant, and now the sound of rain and the bristling of trees. The wind grows louder and louder, and water and leaves begin to pour in under the doors of the great hall.

The doors of the great hall are flung wide, the lights die, and suddenly its like you're in the worst rainstorm you've ever experienced. You are cold, your clothes are drenched in water which pours at you from every direction, and your hair is plastered to your face.

Wand light winks on all over the hall, and through the heavily cast shadows a scene of madness is painted. There is yelling, people are running every-which-way, and the darkness and wandlight is punctuated by flashes of a different kind of wandlight. You light your own wand.

Sheeeeit. Make for the common room, those are supposed to be safe. Be on the lookout for any of our buddies but actively looking for them at a time like this seems stupid.
>>
You start looking for anybody you recognize. But it's dark, and the flashing light and blue candle light of wands isn't making it much easier than a complete darkness would have. You end up wandering around the hall in a sort of absent minded terror.

As the hall starts to empty out, you finally realize you're going to have to follow. As you turn toward the door you hear a voice call out in front of you.

“Morris!” It sounds familiar, and very angry. You identify a boy a little taller than you with a cowl pulled over his face. He levels his wand at you.

With panicked people running around? How much does it shrink him? I'm not sure we should "accidentally" cause a death, though I guess a kid wouldn't really have the cognition to think it through in a heated situation.

You dodge as he sends a spell in your direction then throw back a shrinking charm. As he's reeling from finding himself suddenly two feet shorter you try to hit him with a full body binding curse. Unfortunately with very little practice you fumble the spell.

At his smaller size you are able to slip off into the crowd with him unable to see through or make his way through the crowd after you.

You escape back to the mirror club room. Over the remainder of the night, club members slowly trickle in.

In the morning a few people venture out and give the all clear. The club heads to the Great Hall together.

It seems like the idea of house tables has been forgotten, as everyone sits next to their friends regardless of house.

The Headmaster stands at the front of the Hall.

“Last night,” He begins as the hall starts to look full. “I failed you as a Headmaster. Just as I failed you 2 weeks ago. That said, the board of directors has seen fit to remove me from my station effective immediately. But first, a few words.”

“What happened yesterday evening will do away with stability in the wizarding world for many years to come. A fire has ignited that has lay smoldering in ashes of this school's founding, and the heart of our culture for over a thousand years.” He looks pointedly at you.

“Now begins the long night, through which not all of you will walk to see the morning. To all of you. Good luck.” With that he descends from his place and walks out of the hall.

Nice speech. Short and sweet.

Good riddance to be honest, he was a douche.
>>
Professor Ricimer takes a moment before ascending to his new place at the front of the Hall.

“Classes will continue on Monday. Aurors will be patrolling the school for the remainder of the year. All infractions involving insubordination, breaking curfew, or passing out of bounds will be treated as breaches of security by the aurors. You are all confined to the Great Hall for the remainder of the day.”

You find the remainder of the mirror club sitting at a table together. You all settle in for a long, and very unsettling day.

As night falls and the aurors finish rounding up anyone still missing, everyone returns to their dorms.

As you climb into the commonroom you fiddle with your clothes uncomfortably and find a folded piece of paper in your pocket. It has a small flower drawn on it.

'Mr. Morris,

The prophecy has been made and you have heard it. You are not chosen, but we have chosen you because you have made a choice.

Think about this and watch for our gift.

OoWM.'

As you finish reading and slip the paper back into your pocket the entrance unexpectedly slides open.

A girl with unkempt black hair with her arm in a sling steps into the commonroom.

“Where's Shane Morris?” Jenny asks.
