Last time:
>You woke up in Noel's room, the two of you having exhausted yourselves by sexytimes.
>She kicked you out hastily out of embarrassment, and you met up with her close friend Makoto.
>You talked with Makoto, who made sure you weren't a filthy racist before basically telling you that she knew about the sexytimes.
>Noel and Makoto talked, and you informed Makoto of the plan before heading to lunch.
>You remembered Hiruko's birth. It was kinda a big deal.

Congrats for you guys keeping this thing alive through 20 sessions! I really owe you one.
I'm considering doing some sort of special/recap session along the lines of Teach Me, Miss Litchi!
>>
You arrive in Mess and the place is basically empty except for Noel and Makoto.
You get a meal and start eating beside them, the topic drifting towards what's going to happen when you get to Iwatsuchi.
"Don't you guys need to get a schedule from Tsubaki?" Makoto asks. "She'd definitely be on top of that."
You nod through a mouthful of mashed potatoes. They aren't bad, but you think you've had better.
And then your sister enters. She is not happy.
"I have been searching for you two all day! Whenever I knocked on either of your doors, there was no response!"
Stepping up to the table, she sits down promptly and stares at the two of you suspiciously.
"Where have you been?"
Makoto is smiling devilishly.
This catches Tsubaki's attention. "Makoto... did you have to do with this?"
The squirrel-girl shrugs."Nope. But I do know where they were. If you can guess it in three I'll tell you."
Noel is alarmed at this suggestion, but holds her tongue. This only raises Tsubaki's curiosity.
"Ben." She turns to you. "As my brother, please honestly tell me where you were."
You get the feeling you really shouldn't tell her. It lies somewhere in the range of self-preservation.

>"I plead the fifth. We still have that, right?"
>Tell her the truth.
>"So how about that schedule?"
>"Why don't you ask Noel?"
>"Wow, I really need to finish packing. Mind excusing me?"

Noel, Makoto and Tsubaki all look at you. Newton enters and stares curiously at the situation.
"I plead the fifth?" you tenatively request.
"Wait, what?" Tsubaki asks. "You mean the Fifth Amendment from Pre-War America?"
"That's the one." Newton follows up. "That means you can't force him to incriminate himself."
He sits down without getting food. "If you torture him, since he's a citizen, anything he tells you would be taken under duress and thus illegal evidence in court."
Tsubaki turns to Newton in surprise. "You really know a lot about law..."
"Well, sure. Do you think I got where I was simply by my rugged handsomeness and strength?" He flexes.
Makoto laughs, causing Newton's face to sour. "Well excuse me that SOME people can't appreciate firepower when they see it."
"Keep the bravado under control, please." Tsubaki sighs. "I suppose he's right- no use in me probing."
She focuses her gaze again. "But I expect my brother and friends to be upright. Is this understood?"
"It wasn't anything bad..." Noel murmurs. "Could you please trust us?"
Tsubaki stops being overbearing. "All right, I apologize. Here's the schedule for the next three days- read it as soon as possible so you can prepare accordingly."
"Wow, looks like someone's being possessive of her brother." Nanya snickers.
"What?" Tsubaki turns to Makoto. "You know?"
"He told me. Duh."
"Oh... Well, I suppose. I've never really had a sibling, so I don't know how to act, really."

>"I'm your friend too, you know."
>"I know, and trust me, siblings are completely different people from one another."

"Hey, I can handle myself." You hold up your hands. "I fought Ragna the Bloodedge to what was pretty much a standstill, you know."
"Not exactly what I was referring too, but so be it..." Tsubaki was still looking concerned, so you decided to reassure her.
"I know what it's like to have siblings, Tsubaki, and trust me, brothers and sisters are completely different people from one another."
Makoto nods. "Yeah, seriously. Just look at Jin and Ragna."
"That's actually a pretty good example, to be honest." Newton smirks.
"Just remember that I'm also your friend as well, Tsubaki."
She was struck a bit by this. "What? Why do you even need to say that? Of course you are!"
Newton rolls his eyes. "Because friends interrogate friends on a daily basis, am I right?"
"You have no right to say that!" Yayoi turns to Newton.
"Really?" Newton asks.
Tsubaki backs down.
You look at your male friend with a bit of a questioning stare. "Also... Newton, no offence, but I bet Makoto is a hell of a lot stronger than you. She's a lieutenant and Noel said She was VERY good with tonfas."
Newton shrugs. "Hey, I'm okay with being low-ranking. Gives me some room to grow."
You shake your head. "So what about the schedule? Is everybody packed?" you ask.
Everyone nodded except for Noel. "I just have a few more things left to bring..."
Tsubaki rolled her eyes and laid out the schedule.

"So when we act is the question." Newton mutters.
Tsubaki nods. "Yes, we'll have to survey the events and situation on the first day and act in the next two days."
Makoto stares at the schedule before saying, "Whatever they're going to do, they'll do it during Arena."
Newton turns to Nanaya. "So do we need to move then?"
"Before then." Noel says. "I-I mean, if they're going to do something, they'll have to have it prepared, right?"
"Yeah, Relius has to be there for the Arena." Makoto judges. "Good eye, Noel."

>>40507472
"What's 'Arena', exactly?" You ask.
"It's barbaric, is what it is." Tsubaki mutters. "Apparently they've put on some kind of tournament because of Ragna's capture. The last remaining contender will be given the chance to fight Ragna themselves."
Newton takes off his hat and leans back. "Well, that's just stupid. Why would you let the world's single most destructive criminal fight around thousands of people?"
"So they're gonna bring in all sorts of fighters, then?" Makoto asks. "Why? It's a lot to do and organize. So why are they doing it?"
"Probably to bait out bounty hunters." Newton answers. "If the prize is anything worth getting, they may be able to catch some serious criminals. Besides, if they're going to do something, most people that would stop them will be too distracted with the organization and red tape to stop them."
You drum your fingers on the table. "Something to note is that Relius can be there and still be carrying out his plan. Remember that doll of his?"
"You mean the pink-purple woman-thing?" Noel asks. "Yeah."
"He could use her as his arms and legs while he fills out his NOL obligations." You look at the rest of the group.
"Besides all that, where is Hazama in all of this? He could be released by Relius or 'escape'."
"I could stand guard on him, if you want."Newton asks. "If someone like Jin pulled some strings, I could give you a signal if he's released."
"That's dangerous, though." Makoto says. "He's more powerful than probably any of us, and might be able to kill you before you can warn us."

>"Are you willing to take the risk?"
>"Newton, I'm gonna have to request you do this for us."
>"No. I'm not willing to gamble Newton's life, especially on intel we might not get."
>Write-In
>>
>>40507675
Newton, you're more useful not being noticed by them. The rest of us are easily noticed you aren't. In fact I'm fairly certain both Relius and Hazama look right past you. If you insist I'll pull strings, but I think you'd be better off watching our watchers.
>>
>>40507738
"I'll do it." Newton says. "Whoever else would be doing it is as much a person as me, and they wouldn't even know ahead of time to preapre for something like this."
"Newton..." You turn to him. "I admire your courage, but honestly? You'd be much more helpful if Relius and Hazama didn't know who you were."
"What do you mean?" Newton asks.
"I mean that Hazama and Relius have it out for us. You're a 'low-level' Corporal, effectively making you someone who can be anywhere and nobody notices or cares."
"Wow, you're doing wonders for my self-esteem."
"No, really. You may be the most useful person here for this entire plan, simply because you can fuck up Relius's plan and he would have no idea until it was too late."
He thinks about that for a second. "Huh. Never looked at it like that."
"I'll pull strings if you want, but I think you would work better as a sort of spy."
"So when are we starting to launch the plan?" Tsubaki asks.

"So that would mean the 1-2 PM Transition Period." Noel rocks from side to side a bit. "I'm kinda nervous- I've never really been part of anything like this before."
"We'll get through it." Makoto gives her a thumbs up.
"Yeah. I don't think there's anything left to discuss." Newton says. "I'll see you guys on the ship."

"Newton, wait." you stop him. "We don't know how powerful that doll of his is. It could be capable of killing any one of us, or all of us. You and everyone else need to stay clear of it and anything else you think he's made, unless you absolutely have to."
"Sure." Newton nods. "I'll be careful." He leaves.
"I have to make sure that I haven't forgotten anything." Tsubaki looks at you sternly. "Be careful, you two, whatever it is you were doing."
It takes Makoto all of her willpower not to laugh until Tsubaki leaves.
"Ahahaha... Oh, wow!" Makoto starts laughing uncontrollably. "You guys really dodged a bullet on that one."
"Sh-shut up." Noel mutters. "It's not like we were doing anything wrong..."
"Whatever." Makoto says. "I'll see you guys later. But keep it clean, alright?"
You blush slightly at that.

At the airship, you find that Newton has taken crew with the guy you helped save earlier. Sullivan.
He hasn't talked to you yet.
This time, it's twenty to a ship.
The seven of you, Relius, Byaguka, and the captives. You guys are supposed to be the guard, apparently.
As you step on-board, Byakuga looks at you, opens his mouth, hesitates, and then says nothing before leaving.
Jin is sitting in the 'den' of the ship, stirring a glass of what seems to be ice water with a straw.
The Hero of Ikaruga, Ladies and Gentlemen.

...

You bring your bags to the airship room. It's not much- actually less than the first one, but it doesn't matter.
What does matter is the fact that there are two bends and not one, each with a matching temporary holding shelf.
You put your bag in the one on the left, as the right one is already occupied by Jin.
After that, you move to the prisoner bay with two swipes of your identification card. It's dark, and eerily silent.
You can see Arakune in one corner, but there's something wrong about the sound in this room.

*CRACK*
A strike from behind catches you off-guard. As you recover, you can see a red longstave fly towards Arakune's vial.
"I'm sorry, but I can't have you intervening." A Chinese woman in red steps out, her face determined, but still slightly unsteady.
You think you recognize her. "Litchi? Are you that woman Shishigami talked about?"

"You know, I've heard enough explanations that one more won't hurt." You put your ha back on. "Mind doing me the favor?"
"Why should I explain myself to you?" Litchi asks defensively.
"Because firstly, you can't beat me, secondarily, I can alarm this whole ship to your presence before you can hit me again, and thirdly, I'm not in the mood for any more bullshit."
You exert your presence. "So I'd appreciate a damn good story as to why I should let you skedaddle with him. Get a violin if it helps your sob story."
She looks you over. "You look almost like him, actually. Just brown hair instead of black."
"Excuse me?" You raise an eyebrow.
"Lotte Carmine. Roy." SHe sighs. "He was a fellow researcher with me at Sector Seven. But one day, he started acting strange and not like himself. He eventually got sicker and sicker until he... became what he is now."
She looks at you in appeal. "I think I can help him. Please, let me take him out of here. Do you know what Relius will do to him? I can't just let him go!"

Litchi shakes her head. "No, but I used to. I left because Kokonoe wasn't willing to help me fix Lotte."
"That's awfully convenient. As for your story....I don't believe it."
"What?" Litchi almost looks hurt.
"Because it's so vague it might as well be coming straight from a politician. Besides, I can't trust that he won't hurt anyone unless you plan to get him off this ship without causing a wreck."
You shake your head. "Ignoring everything else, that thing was killing my men for fun. So you have exactly one more chance to give me a real explanation with plans on how fix him or I am alarming this ship."
"The Azure Grimoire... It's a miniature Boundary." She admits.
"Okay, what? How does that matter?"
"I think I can modify the Azure Grimoire to reverse the effects the Boundary had on Roy. The Azure feeds its user a limitless supply of seither from the Boundary it contains. The only bottleneckis how much it can trasfer at once."
"Lotte's body and mind have been poured into the Boundary- I might be able to get enough of it back for it to recover."
She pleads with you. "Name something, just about anything, if you'll help me fix him."

There's a little sympathy welling up within you. "Even now, you still care too much about the people on board to try it. And that's a good thing. Now stop this." You bark it as an order.
"You are just like him, aren't you? Mistreated by Kokonoe, too."
She shakes her head. "You're right, I wasn't really willing to go through with that."
She looks at Arakune sadly. "If I was, I don't know what I would be willing to fight for, anymore, or even if I would go on with my mission. I know that what I'm supposed to do is heal people... even if it means hurting them at first."
Your shoulders slump in relief.

She is a weapon user and we are in a confined space. We can't play keep away like we could with Ragna here. The thing about using a staff as a weapon is that you need the proper leverage and momentum in order to use it properly. We stick to her like glue and she'll have a much harder time using it against us. It's not perfect but it is optimal.

Faster than she can react, you channel a sonic burst through your foot and strike her in the back, throwing herr upwards slightly.
Drawing your pther leg forward, you push your heel into her abdomen and slam her to the ground.
"Gah- You!" She sweeps her legs sideways to trip you, but you regain your bearing.
"You can't be so rough with a lady, you know!" She hisses. She reaches out, and the staff moves towards you again. Litchi is slowly getting up.

You drop under the staff before planting a heel in her jaw and shoving.
"Sorry, lady, but I fight old-school. Don't dish out what you can't take."
She rolls back and pushes he hair out of the way. "You're strong- but I won't lose!"
She calls the staff back to her hand and sweeps at your feet, driving you back temporarily.
The next strike seems to be an upwards one, from the ground.

You see the attack coming before she puts her force into it, moving to the side and stepping forward, putting sonic energy into the strike you land on her shoulder.
"What?" Litchi is alarmed. "How are you able to move so quickly?"
She shakes her head. "It doesn't make sense- you're only human..."
She realizes in alarm what she just said. "So it can be done, then?"
She smiles. "Even if I lose, if I'm right, you add a lot of grounds to a theory I have. I have to thank you for this fight."
She moves back into a defensive stance, almost daring you to come after her.

"So you can tell, then?" You step back, considering your options. Right now delaying her by talking seems to be a good one.
"I had a hunch, but you just confirmed it." Litchi winks at you. "Thank you for adding to the sum of human knowledge."
"What's this theory of yours?" you ask, silently pulling your rifle to a position that you can grab it from.
"That a human body can be created completely out of seither, should it be dense enough."
"Really, now?" You aim with your eyes carefully. Her collarbone should be strong enough to withstand this.
"Oh, yes. It would require an Observer, though, which means you're not alone." She questions you. "Who is Observing you?"
You realize that this is moment to strike. "That's not something I'm willing to answer, thanks."
With almost godlike accuracy, you hook your finger around the trigger guard of your rifle and, using your finger as a pivot, spin it out so that the barrel faces Litchi.
Before she knows what is happening, you fire.
The sonic energy from the explosion are silently contained into a line which follows the Ars Magus projectile.
When the line reaches Litchi, it spreads throughout her skeleton like the waves of a falling drop.
Instantly, the sudden jolt knocks out most of the nerves in her body, and she slumps to the ground helpless.
You should probably inform someone.

...

That's it for tonight.
Any questions?
Sorry for the temporary sloppy writing.

What would happen if Lichi did free Ragna?
>>
>>40510873
So since news about Ragna's capture and upcoming execution was spread. Has Nu-No.13 heard about it?
>>
>>40510930
The ship would likely crash. Then you guys would play Survivor: (North America covered in seither).
>>40510936

Chances of her running into Ben and Noel during their counter plan against Relius.

Did Hazama plan for her to hear about this. Is plan B to get rid of Ben?
>>
>>40510974
>Chances of her running into Ben and Noel during their counter plan against Relius.
You'd have to seek her out. That's all I'll say on the matter.
>Did Hazama plan for her to hear about this.
Yes.
>Is plan B to get rid of Ben?
Getting rid of Ben is a nice bonus of Relius and Hazama's plan. If Ben interferes too much, Hazama will seek him out.
>>
>>40511004
So out of all the cast, who is able to see or notice the similarities between Ragna and Ben.
>>
>>40511024
Relius, Rachel, Noel, Nu, Valkenheim, Hazama, Saya, Kokonoe, Trinity Glassfield, Hakumen, Arakune.
Jin and Litchi, too, but less so than the others.
>>
>>40511050
So what would Hazama's reaction be to Ben if Ben is able to take him down when he is 100% serious with only few scratches similar to how Ragna was beaten?
>>
>>40511102
Absolutely assblasted.
It's not likely, though. You fought Ragna without his Grimoire, so he rolled 2d6 for combat.
If he has his grimoire, that would be doubled.
Hazama is more powerful than Ragna as it is, and with his Grimoire you're looking at 6d6 rolled for combat values.
You'd need to Overdrive to even come close to fighting him on his level.
>>
>>40511129
When I mean with his Grimoire, I mean active, obviously.
