>You are one of two young Tuffle twins, thrown at Earth starting in early Dragon Ball by your "father"

>"Canon" has already taken a sharp turn from the "norm," as you'll readily see, and can take even sharper turns depending on the thread's action/dialogue choices and ideas

Previously on Dragon Ball Tuffle Quest: You defeated Goku and became the World Martial Arts Champion! Then had a chat with Launch, have decided to see the world with your brother, and have gone to meet with Bulma, finding ANOTHER alien at her place.

Jaco sits down, repeating the same question more and more quietly. "You're Tuffles...? you're Tuffles... T-Tuffles...?"

Acer cleared his throat nervously. "Look, I know it's a bit... unusu-"

"YOUR RACE IS SUPPOSED TO BE EXTINCT!" the alien shouts so loud you think he'll wake the dead. He then starts muttering to himself somewhat quietly. "Lost survivors? Tuffles did have spaceflight, but they weren't colonizers... These two would have to be second generation, at best... it does explain the presence of the Scouters, but then the PTO... then, based on Galactic Law... lawsuits... hrm... hmmmm..."

"Woah, wait, what?" Bulma tilts her head and looks at you both, then at Jaco. "Earth girl here is lost in this conversation, can one of you three explain what's going on here? What's a Tuffle? Why are you supposed to be extinct?" she almost demands, crossing her arms.

You look at Acer nervously. He's thinking the same thing, you can tell by the look on his face. You sigh, then turn to Bulma. "Where to begin...?"

"Start by telling me what a 'Tuffle' is." the purple-haired woman says with a somewhat annoyed grunt. She clearly doesn't like being out of the loop.

"We were one of the two original races of Planet Plant. The first one, the Plantians, were good friends of our people. They were less..." you look at Bulma, her annoyed expression gone and now listening intently. "...humanoid than we were. Most eventually left Planet Plant to explore the universe. Some are probably still alive today. Tuffles... we're the only living ones left. The Saiyans, an alien race that was initially welcomed to the planet, one day attacked our people, hungry for conquest. Led by a vicious but smart Saiyan, as smart as a Tuffle, we fought to a standstill until the rare night of a full moon. Saiyans transformed into vicious Great Apes, Oozaru, and wiped out every last Tuffle on the planet."

"I could have told her that." Jaco grumbles. "What about you? How did you survive? Where are your parents?"

"Parent." Acer clarifies. Jaco and Bulma tilt their heads in confusion.

"Our 'father' is a brilliant scientist named Dr. Raichi. Or, was. He exists only as a phantom now. We... are experiments. The first successful ones in recreating the Tuffle race. But... we weren't up to the 'standards' that he seemed to want out of us. We were... abandoned here on Earth, with only the phrase 'kill the dirty space monkey' to go by." you tell them. Fuck you, ghost dad.

"The same Saiyan I was sent here to stop, then." Jaco adds, rubbing his chin.

"Woooah..." the purple haired girl sinks in her seat, eyes wide. You and Acer look at each other with uneasy expressions. You don't know if Bulma's quite ready for this, but, she'll need to know the truth eventually...

You don't have to tell her. She'll probably figure it out on her own, anyway. Besides, with Jaco there you don't know what he'll do, if he were sent to stop the Saiyan. You quickly take a look with your Scouter. Jaco's Power Level is 750. Perhaps it's for the best...

"Tuffles also invented the Scouters." Acer points out. "During the war with the Saiyans, they were used to locate potential threats. Saiyans are strong, but dumb. They only had brute force, we had technology on our side."

You rub the back of your neck and smile. "Honestly, we're probably the strongest Tuffles that ever existed. All thanks to Master Roshi's training. We weren't a warlike race, so we never really wanted to improve ourselves like that, but I guess you can say there were some... advantages to finding a planet like Earth. Plus technology like the Capsules, we'd have never thought of something like that before. Earth is an amazing place."

"Well, us Earthlings need something to claim as our own." Bulma gets a prideful smile as you praise her planet. She'd never really considered it before, but she seems happy about it.

"Then do you have any idea about what happened to the Saiyans?" Jaco asks. You and Acer shake your head no. "A powerful alien named Freeza, the ruler of the Planet Trade Organization and bent on galactic conquest, took them over and used them as his personal shock troopers. Baby Saiyans were sent to planets like Earth to conquer them, wipe out their original population, and ready them for sale. Adults were sent to stronger planets. Most of them were wiped out when Planet Plant was destroyed by meteors."

"You mean... he's like some kind of evil dictator-loanshark?" Bulma asks, realizing how bizarre that question was.

Jaco nods. "They've also stolen your Scouter technology."

"That BASTARD!" you shout. The Saiyans kill your people, steal your technology, and then give it to some dictator-landshark? Damn them. Damn them all. ...well, except one.

"Galactic Law states that, given they are using the technology without your permission, and given that you're still alive to represent it, you could sue them for such an act." Jaco explains, raising a finger. He then immediately lowers it, expression darkening. "...if you could ever bring them to Space Court. The PTO's powers and influence are great, and Freeza is stronger than any Saiyan. Probably stronger than ALL of them. Even the Galactic King fears engaging him directly."

"I see... no wonder they took over the Saiyans." Acer mumbles. He then looks at you, and you both look at Bulma. You might not be able to read minds like your master, but you know what brobro is planning, at least. Here goes nothing... "Jaco, would you mind telling me a bit more about this Dragon Ball? Where'd you find it?"

You quickly come over to Bulma. "I need to speak to you, privately." She gives you a strange look, but comes along as you take her out of the room.

"Is it... about the Saiyans?" she asks with a whisper. Smart as ever, Bulma. "There's still one on this planet, isn't there? "

"It's Goku."

"...what."

You gulp. "Goku is a Saiyan. Probably... the only nice one in the universe."

"...th-this isn't some kind of joke, is it? I mean... he's..." The pieces start falling into place in her mind. She gives you a panicked look, whisper-shouting, "Maple we have to find him! If Jaco thinks there's still a Saiyan out here, still as vicious as ever, then he might try to kill him on impulse! ...and if he can't, he'll activate a device to... spare... the entire Earth's population of what he thinks it's capable of!"

...Shit. SHIT.

You give Bulma the most serious look you've given her in your entire life. Not a long time, technically, but still! "Bulma, we do NOT bring it up in front of him. Or at least, convince him, with the upmost sincerity, that there is no 'evil' Saiyan on this planet if he ever considers it. After all, the Earth is still fine. That wouldn't be the case if there were an 'evil' Saiyan rampaging across the planet for 12 years, right?"

"I... guess." Bulma clearly isn't happy about this arrangement, but doesn't disagree with the logic behind it. "Maple... will Goku...? I mean, he's such a nice kid, he'd never..."

You smile with a hint of pride. Few Tuffles could say this quite like you could. "I beat him once, didn't I?" She seems slightly eased by that remark. "Look, Bulma, he's... not like other Saiyans. I guess that's another thing that you can thank Earth for."

"Let's hope so..." the purple haired girl tells you, wanting to believe it herself. As you both head back, Jaco seems to be finishing explaining the Dragon Ball, Acer looking it over, eyeing the black stars on it carefully.

"...believe me, it wasn't easy getting this out of the ruins of Hera. I don't know how many others are like this in the universe, though from what I've learned from Bulma there are probably at least 7. I'll be keeping this one at Galactic Patrol HQ, just to be safe."

"Understandable." Acer nods, noticing you and Bulma coming back in.

"Ah, what did you two talk about?" Jaco asks with a friendly smile.

"Uh. Girl... stuff." Bulma tells him. Smooth. As Acer explains about the Dragon Ball, a taller, thinner woman with blonde hair comes in, younger than Bulma's mom, the one you saw outside earlier.

"Huh. So little World's Strongest Girl really is an alien." the blonde woman states. "Also, sis, Yamcha's outsi-"

"Maple Mahogany, World Champion of Earth and the last hope of the Tuffle race!" you tell her, doing a little pose. Jaco nods approvingly while Acer groans. The woman barely even bats an eye. "And this is my brobro, Acer." you tell her, pointing to him.

"Tights Briefs, Science Fiction novelist and friend to aliens." she says as she offers to shake your hand. "And this is my sis-sis, Bulma." she repeats in the exact same tone as you, pointing at Bulma the same way you pointed at Acer. You think you're gonna like this lady. "Who seems to be having some... relationship issues."

You look at the grumbling Bulma. "Something happen between you and Yamcha?"

"You could say that..." she growls.

"She's jealous of the... attention he's been getting since the World Tournament." Tights whispers.

"I'M NOT JEALOUS. WHO CARES IF SOME FLOOZIES CROWD AROUND HIM? WHO NEEDS HIM." she shouts, almost causing Jaco to drop his milk. Hooooo boy.

"Didn't take Yamcha for being a flirt." Acer comments.

"He isn't. My baby sister just has a serious case of 'being a hormonal teenager' going on." Tights whispers. "Might be terminal." Bulma glares daggers at her sister, who sticks her tongue out at her in return.

"I ain't looking forward to puberty, that's for sure." you mumble to Tights, causing her to giggle. Seems humans have it similar to Tuffles, unlike Saiyans who sort of just have it over with quickly. You wonder if that means any other Tuffles ever made it to Earth, passing off for short humans. Something to think about.

"Oh what are we going to do with you, sis?" Tights sighs. That... gives you an idea.

"Bulma, you need to talk about this with someone?"

She grunts. "What's there to talk about?"

You and Tights exchange glances, and then you jump up and pull Bulma along out of the room by the wrist. "OK, girl talk time. You're coming with us."

Acer sighs as the three of you leave. "Girls. I'll never understand them."

"You need to know when to talk, and when to listen." Jaco comments, showing him a picture. "My girlfriend and I get along quite well."

As you and Tights bring Bulma out of the room, you head to the Atrium of the building. Lots of animals and a few dinosaurs walk around the area, and apparently... Baragon? Huh. Strange. Whatever, can ask later, Bulma needs this. Girl talk time!

"Bulma, can you tell us what's really going on? Between you and Yamcha? You two seemed like you were doing well together."

"Look, I know I'm only 9 and I have no personal experience with this yet, but I can tell that yes, yes you do." you state, crossing your arms. Tights nods her head in agreement. "You're a friend, Bulma, and I want to help my friends. It's like... taking a band-aid off. Hurts for a bit, but over quickly. What's been going on with him and other girls?"

"Ever since the Tournament other girls have been crowding around him. They keep trying to get his number or ask him out on dates or... aurgh!" She pulls at her hair. "Do you know how many messages they've been leaving here?! To say nothing of his little fanclub showing up and DEMANDING to see him... It'd be bad enough if it were just that, but..."

"'But?'" Tights asks, nudging her sister's arm with her elbow.

"He's never once said ANYTHING! Hasn't told them no, hasn't done anything but stutter and walk away. I found him walking in one night desperately wiping lipstick off his cheek and... and..." Bulma's eyes start to tear up a little.

"He's the first one, and you think you're supposed to be perfect together. Right?" Tights asks. Bulma's face turns a bright pinkish red and she looks away. "Sis..."

You see the door to the Atrium opening, Yamcha and Bulma's father talking with the old man from before, something in Yamcha's hand. He stops and doesn't approach any further, Bulma not noticing.

You pinch the ridge of your nose. Girl. Giiiirrrll. "Bulma, I can see why you might be upset, but did you like, actually ask him about it, or just jump to conclusions?" She glares at you but doesn't answer.

"Sis. Did you?"

"Look sis, it might not work out between you two in the end, who knows, but if you keep acting like this, I can't say I'm gonna be all that sympathetic. Relationships are hard, they take work." Tights says, placing her hand on Bulma's shoulder. "Hey, there's always that Goku boy."

"...he's twelve." Bulma states with a grumble.

"...lewd." you tell her. She pulls at her hair and lets out an embarrassed shout. You then feel that you have to ask. Just to be sure. "...DO you like Goku?"

"HE'S TWELVE!" she roars at you, loud enough that the animals around start running in terror. Even Baragon seems to run and hide behind Yamcha, to the confusion of the man who is not Bulma's father. "Honestly, Maple... ugh..."

"Just call me matchmaker Maple." You give her a cheeky grin and pose, then look at Yamcha, waving for him to come over. Yamcha lets out a quiet cough, catching Bulma's attention.

"H-hey..." he says, giving her a box. "She's... right. Look, I don't know if I'm the best at this, but... I want to do this right, Bulma. You're the first girl I've ever been able to... even just talk to. You mean a lot to me."

Bulma seems to calm down a little, and opens the box. Her eyes go wide. "Ch-chocolate covered strawberries?"

"Well... they're your favorite." he tells her with a shy smile, rubbing the back of his neck. Bulma hugs him tight. "Oh, ah... I also got this." Yamcha says, diving her another box, this one wrapped.

"Seems that worked. Thanks, cool alien girl." You and Tights exchange smiles and tap your fists. Bulma lets out a shout of glee.

"Th-this is... oh Yamcha!" she shouts as she clings to him and kisses him on the cheek. You happen to glance at the other gift. Huh.

Well, that's enticing. You tell Yamcha to wait a moment, and then head over to Acer. Apparently he and Jaco were also talking... relationships. Surprise surprise, apparently the other alien had some good advice, in spite of his... eccentricities. Brobro says he's like to watch, and even Jaco says he's interested in what you all are doing. Soon you're all piled together with the movie being projected on a makeshift theater screen in the Atrium, Oolong and Puar finally arriving from a day shopping. Even the other old man, who you learned is one Dr. Omori, decides to watch with you all. The lights dim...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FzK_c9ziF8

...as the movie ends, you notice the gleeful expression on Bulma's face. Yamcha seems both happy and sad, though you can probably guess why. Even Omori seemed to enjoy the little film.

"Man, Char became such an asshole." Acer comments.

"Amuro... h-he made it, right? He..." Puar seems like he's about to cry.

"I hate Quess." Tights grumbles. "What was her DEAL? Annoying little..." she grumbles things about the girl she knows aren't appropriate for the kids in the audience.

Jaco was smiling all the way through. "That was a fun movie. I'm curious though, you Earthlings could obviously design such weapons with your current technology, but I don't see anything close to it around. Hmm..."

"THANK YOU." Tights shouts. "What was HIS deal? He was almost as bad as Quess."

You think for a moment on Jaco's comment. Earth has quite a lot of interesting tech, just not a lot of it is related to spacefaring. And those Funnel weapons... Yamcha obviously figured out his Spirit Ball technique from this show. Perhaps you could try something out as well.

The following morning, with Bulma pulling an all-nighter to finish her Dragon Scouter upgrades for your own Scouters, you say your goodbyes to Jaco, who promises to keep things hushed about potential Tuffle survivors as best as possible. Tights says she's inspired to write another story, after hearing about it herself. You and Acer have a few options ahead of you both, what should you do?

With the idea of still developing a new technique safely stored in your mind, you and your brother decide to go try to find Master Roshi's sister. Saying your goodbyes to Bulma, Yamcha, Tights, and everyone else, you and Acer take off. Checking with your map, you and brobro identify it easily. It's... a strange compound. Outside you notice a group of people, most apparently martial artists, and then see a rich couple leaving the place. The martial artists walk in, and a little... pink ghost stops you. Its blank smiling expression brings back some strange memories of ghost dad.

The martial artists all leave after a couple hours, all badly beaten physically and in spirit. One looks like he has bite marks on his neck. Huh.

"She will see you now." the pink ghost usher calls you in.

"Sis this seem strange to you? Like... familiar, in a way?" Acer asks, but before you can respond you're greeted by an old woman floating on a crystal ball.

You tilt your head at the strange old woman. "'Wild Cards,' huh? So, you are Roshi's sister then?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DM-U1SLJAN4

"I am Fortuneteller Baba. You could say I've kept my eye on you two since before you arrived on this planet." she tells you with a somewhat sinister grin, but not one that implies any direct danger. "You are here for a reason other than most folks. You wish to learn from me."

"Yep!" you tell her, Acer nodding.

"There are few things I am willing to teach. Much less to a couple of brats..." she grunts. "...but there is something about you both that may change the future of this planet. Or might lead to its ruin. There is great potential within you both. Especially if you stay on the side of... well, your friends. You two are Wild Cards in an already strange deck. You could become nothing, you could become something unprecedented. You could end up being the catalyst for something great."

"...so, does this mean you'll teach us?" you ask, hesitant about what she's trying to imply.

"Perhaps. You both have something to prove, first. Are you willing to go through the trial to prove your worth?"

"HELL YEAH!" you and brobro shout together. Baba chuckles at your enthusiasm.

"Follow me, then." Baba requests, you both doing as asked. She takes you through her room, past a group of monstrous-looking people, a devil-man, a mummy, a vampire, and... Man-Wolf? huh. You arrive at an arena outside. Proving your worth as a martial artist? Hah, you're the World Champ, and Acer's almost as strong as you.

"Wait here. She will be out momentarily." Baba says. The pink ghost floats around you and your brother, offering you drinks.

Acer just gets some water, finally realizing the surrounding heat of the area. "What do you think of her cryptic mumbo-jumbo, sis? I mean, if we can change the world for the better and she's told us we can do it, what's the worry about us doing something bad? Is she really worried a couple nine year old Tuffles will turn out to be the world's destroyers, or is there something more going on here?"

It's probably some comment on how strong people can shape history. Case in point, the formation and later destruction of the RR army. It was created by powerful people to control the world and collect Dragon Balls, and it was later annihilated by Goku and us because they kidnapped his friends.

"Strongest in history, huh?!" an all too familiar voice shouts at you. "Have you two learned NOTHING? Gods, get sent to one planet with a few measly fighters and beat one lousy Saiyan and suddenly you two think you're strong enough to take on the universe!"

"I'm not hearing that." Acer states, frozen in fear. "I'm not hearing that I'm not hearing that I'm not hearing that."

Baba starts laughing. "Hohohoho... you are, boy. Of course, this is the first time she's ever been able to meet you both personally. Still... she saw everything. She knew everything. It was her soul that he was... let's say, 'borrowing' for a while."

You turn to the voice. Acer is repeating his mantra as he does the same. Both your eyes go wide. There she is, a short woman standing before you with a halo above her head. "H-h-h-hello... T-t-t-teacher..."

You gulp. "W-we have to fight her, don't we?" Baba nods. You try to bow respectfully. "H-hello Teacher. So n-nice to see you again!" Your teacher cracks her knuckles. You try not to have vivid flashbacks of her training methods.

You have a lot of vivid flashbacks of her training methods, curling into the fetal position on the floor.

"OH GODS WHY?" Acer shouts, panicking almost as hard as you are. "HOW?!"

"For one day, I have the power to bring the deceased back to realm of the living. She's been... eager to see you two." the old woman chuckles heartily.

"LISTEN UP, BRATS." she yells. Both you and Acer instinctively stand at attention, fearing retribution. "In spite of what the good late Doctor might have led you to believe, you two weren't done with your training. Not by a long shot." Izumi takes her battle stance. "You have one day to learn this lesson. You learn it, Baba teaches you something. You fail, you don't learn anything. Try as many times as you want, but this is it."

A white aura builds up around your teacher, and suddenly your Scouter goes crazy. Izumi's Power Level rockets up from what seemed to be 200 to... 1250?!

"It's why your training is incomplete." Izumi says with a frown. "Are you going to try, or have you given up already?"

She's stronger than you. You don't care. You've learned a lot, and by the gods, you're gonna do your best. Acer lunges at her, trying to attack with full strength. Izumi catches his fist and smirks, then tosses him at you. You manage to catch him and help him down as she comes charging at you both. You see your first chance.

"CLOTHES BEAM!" you shout, a weighted shirt covering her face. It distracts her, but only for a moment, as she comes chasing after you, tearing the clothing apart. However, you get just enough time to make an afterimage, Acer as well, the two of you dodging around her and going for an attack. She blocks your strikes and moves backwards, then comes rushing again. She strikes Acer in the gut and sends him flying upwards, your brother crying out in pain. But you use this opportunity to throw some more stuff at her with another Clothes Beam, trying to bind her arms and legs. Izumi breaks free easily, but again you manage another afterimage. Then another, and another, and another, until there are eight Maples surrounding her, closing in.

"Clever, Maple. Clever..." she praises, then leaps into the air, ki building up in her fist. "But not enough. PHANTOM SHOTGUN!" The torrent of energy flies and disperses all the afterimages. But then, she realizes you're not there. You're flying above her, building up energy.

"JAN! KEN!" you shout. "Rock!" you punch at her, stopping short and causing her to guard awkwardly. "Scissors!" you attempt for the poke, but Izumi catches on to your scheme, knocking your hand away before the shockwave missing her completely. "PAPER!" you shout, a shockwave-inducing palm strike connecting as it hits your teacher in the gut right at the same time as Acer comes flying in to deliver a dropkick, sending her crashing to the ground.

Izumi stands up and smiles, arms crossed.

You rush at her, trying to keep up the pressure. You land a couple minor blows, but realize that Izumi hits far harder than you anticipated. A single punch to the jaw sends you flying back, but you don't give up. You CAN'T give up. Acer tries to come in an do the same, but he simply can't keep up with her, Izumi going for a series of palmstrike counters. Her signature skill. Still... you see an opportunity.

Cupping your hands together, you build up ki. "Kaaaaa... meeeee... haaaaa... meeeeee..."

Your teacher... smiles at you? "You're close, Maple. But this simply is not e-"

"Revenant Driver!" Acer shouts as he claps his hands together and flings it at her. Izumi has but seconds to dodge it, then punches brobro in the face. Acer seems comes down hard, and is having trouble getting back up. But it gave you what you needed.

"HAAAAA!" you roar, pouting all the ki you have left into your attack. It collides with your teacher, engulfing her in a stream of blue and white light. You quickly rush over to help Acer up, and then hear... laughter?

You scratch your head, and look at your brother. It's... an odd question. But you have an answer. Acer seems to think the same thing. "We're a part of it, and it's a part of us."

"This world deserves it. If Planet Plant is gone, then so be it! I don't care if our dad left us here as punishment because we failed him somehow. It's been more a home to us than anywhere else."

You and Acer stand tall. "Earth is our home now. Our hearts rest on this planet! It has our friends, the guy who actually treated us like a father, and so many things left to see!"

You and Acer hug her tight. Tears fill up in your eyes as you realize this might be the last time you ever see her for a long, long time. Then, all three of you give a dorky expression and pat each other on the back with a mantra of "PAT PAT." Baba chuckles softly.

"Ah... t-teacher..." you wipe away the tears.

"Maple... you can call me Izumi now." she says as she pats you on the head.

"I-Izumi... w-what do you mean by that?"

Izumi's expression darkens. She doesn't want to answer, but she knows she has to. "You're the last of the Tuffles, the TRUE Tuffles. And you're the last ones that have a chance of making this right. Dr. Raichi... he used to be a good man. There was still some sliver left inside himself when he made you both. It's gone now. He's but a phantom, with nothing but his hatred towards the Saiyans tying him to the mortal realm. And... he's not the only one."

"Th-there's another Tuffle out there?!" Acer nearly falls over from the shock.

"Our King made a last gambit experiment during the end of the war. He created a... THING with the memories of the Tuffles, the genetic material. It's a monster. A parasite. A MOCKERY of everything we were... it too is driven only by the desire to get its revenge on the Saiyans."

You clench your fist. "I see what you're saying, now..."

"Our legacy can't be reduced to one of hatred and vengeance. The last gasp of the Tuffles, our last mark on history... live out your lives as you should, not blinded by their hatred." Izumi then smiles at you both. "Your friendship with Goku speaks volumes about what we'll leave behind."

And this: >>40567615
>>
Dragonball are an option but we probably need to take down Frieza before we go that route, else he'll just blow up the planet again.
>>
>>40567781
We could also use the Dragonballs to bring Izumi back (If she wanted) or our whole race and put them on Earth. The latter would cause serious problems though.
>>
>>40567833
>or our whole race and put them on Earth
Only if we manage to get black star balls.
Namek or Earth balls won't pull this off due to restrictions.
>>
>>40567833
Yeah I wouldn't want to overpopulate the Earth like that. Truffles deserve their own planet.
>>
>>40567853
Well considering that it could support the Namekians for a time...

We can also wish for a sizeable but supportable population and then start space exploration to find a new permanent home.
>>
>>40567590
You sit down and stare at the ground. "This is... heavy. But... I understand." You sigh and look up. "Master Roshi was right. Ghost dad is a prick."

"It's a lot to throw at a... pair of nine year olds. You have so much ahead of you. But, please, Acer, Maple... never forget what you are. Stay strong." Izumi says with a comforting smile.

"Is... is there really no way to revive our race?" you ask. You have to ask.

Izumi shakes her head no. "The Tuffles, and the Saiyans for that matter, at least by themselves, are destined for extinction. The Dragon Balls on Earth could not revive a people dead for so long, and... do not use the ones that do have such potential. Something far worse might come from them."

"Ah, so then the one Jaco had..." Acer comments. "I see. We'll have to tell him about it next chance we get."

"You two are the last Tuffles that deserve the name, remember that, take pride in that. There are but a handful of Saiyans left, maybe a few dozen at most. Goku is rare among them." She stands, and then smiles. "Oh, when you get the chance... tell Goku that Gohan is proud of him. Or maybe have him learn that himself." Izumi looks to Baba, who nods.

"Well kids... you pass." Baba tells you both with the friendliest smile you've seen from her. "I will be able to teach you some things. And I want to be the first to thank you for your decision."

"Honored." you tell her with a bow, and then you quickly hug Baba. "Thank you for this."

The old woman pats you on the head. "I worried I was being a bit selfish in asking you two of this, but now, I am glad that I did."

You and Acer then quickly run over to teacher, and give her one last tearful hug. "Thank you for everything. We love you, Izumi."

"I love you kids too. I'm proud of you both." the Tuffle woman tells you. She finally steps back and waves goodbye.

It takes a while, but you and Acer manage to get through your tears. You look at Baba. "So, are we gonna have to wear weighted training hats or something?"

The old woman laughs. She needed that. You did too.

Well folks, same as usual. I'll be here to answer questions, comments, and other things for you. Did ya'll have fun today?

It was a fun thread.

About the subject of Dragonball magic... Is it going to be more utility and divination stuff and clothes beams? Or could Maple pull off some Irenicus type shit in a fight if she studied hard enough?

Is it possible to make a cross between the Tri-beam and clothes beam?
>>
>>40568460
Thanks for the run boss, that was fun and kinda emotional.
>>
>>40568523
Glad you liked it. There is a lot of utility magic. There are a few offensive spells, mostly liked to ki attacks, like what Acer developed for the Will 'O Wisp. There are also extremely useful skills later down the line, like magic healing and boosting allies' power. Clothes Beam is technically just one part of a greater magic materialization ability, though that is still in itself somewhat limited.

It is entirely possible to make Advanced Geometry Clothes Beam, even if the end result would be... silly.

>>40568535
Thanks for playing! I'm not gonna lie, I've actually been waiting to do this ever since you folks mentioned heading to Baba's to learn from her.

Anyone curious as to what Goku and others have been up to, or think you'd want to wait on that?

I think it'll be funner to hear about it and react in character so I say wait.

Any idea when you'll be running next?

What's your favorite mecha?

Do you prefer military grade mecha or unique mecha that can fight giant monsters and gods?

What's your favorite Battlemech?
>>
>>40569091
Favorite mech that's "just" a machine, the Crossbone Gundams. Favorites that are characters, tie between Atomic Robo and Transformers RID Skybyte.

I like both for different reasons. I also like robots that aren't strict warmachines or godslayers, like the Labors from Patlabor. Or the nuclear-powered SCIENCE TANK that we have roaming around Mars right now.

Urbie.

Done and done.

Also, honest question: are ya'll fine with how this is progressing? I'm curious for any feedback on it, on how Maple's personality and personal philosophy are developing. I don't want things to get too rushed or anything, especially with you guys kinda' agreeing to stand up for the Earth like that. Lot of responsibility that a 9 year old girl and her twin brother are taking on...
>>
>>40569594
Seems pretty solid so far, both with pacing and Maple's development. The twins are a bit smarter and wiser than their actual age but that's attributed to their unique upbringing.

And to be fair they have no idea what they are getting into. Earth is going to damn popular the closer we get to Z and especially once we are in Z.
>>
>>40569649
That's good to hear, then. I've kinda tried to at least give a more childlike hint to the both of them, even if they both are less-than-ordinary kids.

It's already more popular than you'd think. Just... be wary of what's in store. Some strong people are ahead, and only a handful are even close to anything resembling friendly.
>>
>>40569810
>I've kinda tried to at least give a more childlike hint to the both of them
No worries, its coming through. Its just funny to see the contrast when Maple gives really good relationship advice for someone her age.
>>40561868
>>
>>40569594

I think that's it's progressing at a good pace. I've been so focused on DBZ with Xenoverse coming out and the other DBZ-related quests popping up that I almost forgot that there was a lighthearted series that precluded all of those. Though I am eager to see how Maple and brobro will shape up to be in the later years, I also don't mind seeing how they spend their childhood doing all sorts of adventures that have their share of wacky, dramatic, or heartbreaking/heartwarming moments alike.

Heh, that's true. Of course I'll freely admit I also kinda want to help push Bulma into maturing a bit better, and that if she does end up with someone other than Yamcha they leave on slightly better terms than in canon.

>>40569873
That's good to hear. I might match the series' tone progression a bit differently, but some of the same notes will be hit about the same time as canon since the flow of them all works fairly well. So... be wary.

And don't forget to teach Piccolo Jr. to go skateboarding when you finally get to that point.
>>
>>40570175
>And don't forget to teach Piccolo Jr. to go skateboarding when you finally get to that point.
How we will convince him to do that with us, I have no idea. But if anyone could it would probably be Maple. Or canon Gohan but who knows if he'll be joining us.
>>
>>40570205

Don't worry, we can just ask the Supreme Kai of Time to lend us one of the gorillion Gohan clones running around in Toki Toki city if it comes to that.
>>
>>40570288
No, they are Gohan Jr's, get it right.
>>
>>40570205
Somehow I see it going down something like this.

Or perhaps Maple actually does teach Piccolo Jr. how to drive a car.

Either way this is a potential future.

Always a good read and play on this Kato.

I wonder, is the Earth of Dragon Ball our world, just after some serious apocalypse, or other less destructive event.

Something like multiple millions of years ago and there was stuff like genetic engineering on earth, lost tech that is now forgotten. The Kami's of earth gathered it and hid it. So all that was left was movies, other culture and such in preserved format.

That would explain a lot of the culture and such carrying through, including movies. And the mess of history.

Thanks for playing!

It's an interesting idea, but I'd go against it. The world of Dragon Ball is quite odd in its schizo tech. An interesting example is the Pirate Base in the Red Ribbon arc; while the tech there is apparently hundreds of years old, it's close to and in some cases beyond modern day. As in there is a several hundred year old pirate robot that's able to fight evenly with Goku.

The presence of Penguin Village complicates, but also perhaps explains things better. It's connected to DB in a strange, possible wormhole sort of thing, yet people in Dragon World are sort of aware of it. Hell, there are even flights to Penguin Village, and Tokyo, if you can believe that. Perhaps that's where all the strange references to the "real world" come from, since the world of Dr. Slump is closer to our own. Little bit of speculation on my part.

Such would also mean that the moon is intact in Penguin Village...
>>
>>40571213

So Dr Slump area exists in a separate magic reality.

I blame the dragon balls.

And it is connected to our world.
>>
>>40571213
Please stop crossing over other animes' characters into this?
>>

>>

Like, her non-Toriyama looks ruin the aesthetic even more than not having a picture at all, and I have no idea who she is or why she's important. Some sorta blacksmith? I don't watch Full Metal Alchemist, I came here for Dragon Ball. Please don't introduce any more characters from different animes.
>>
>>40572120
She not specifically a crossover character. She IS a Tuffle with personality and occupation (deadly mentor) similar to Izumi and so Kato also used her picture to represent the looks.

It's a reference, not crossover.
>>
>>40572920
>>40572120
Honestly, she's kind of the only time I plan on doing something like this. Most other things are going to be DB or other Toriyama works directly connected to it, like Jaco and Dr. Slump. Hope that clears it up.
>>
>>40576331

If you don't mind using video characters to replicate his style...

Well, there are decent character creators in dragon ball zenoverse I think. Also I know dragon quest 9 for the DS had a good dress up/character creator too.

Also any of the Dragon Quest manga's do a good job of replicating his style too, even if not drawn by Toriyama.
>>

>>40572120

>>
>>40576703
