Hello, and welcome (back) to the Minotaur Civilization Quest! In the previous thread, we:
>A)
Returned home after dealing with a rather annoying ape-man. While doing so, we left a very easily tracked trail in the snow. This could come back to bite us in the ass later.

>B)
Discovered a race of amphibious creatures in the high peaks of the mountains. Their slimy scaled skin (and their attempt to drag a woman underwater for unknown purposes) led us to call them the Skum.

>C)
Horribly offended a Dryad who then promptly locked herself in her room. She refuses to come out because we eat meat apparently.

>D)
Reinvented rap. Slim Shady was found in our underground and was promptly brought to the forefront. Why? Because Detroit represent.

>E)
Advanced into the Renaissance. We left our barbaric culture of “fuck it to solve the problem” to adopt the ways of Tex-Mex.

>F)
Communed with Weed Jesus.

>G)
Wrote up a periodic table of the elements after finding a pale green rock floating down along the beach. This will become important later.

>E)
Sent out William AGAIN to establish relations with the Dark Elves. He also brought along Sophie, whom he promptly hid inside a wall because why not. He was then promptly captured and taken to the Queen’s court.
We also may or may not have dealt with the zombie outbreak, but that's not important.

Fuck, I forgot to change the ending...

As the guards file out of the room, Ai' Ly cannot stop laughing, and it take her sister smacking her right across the face (leaving a bright pink mark) to get her to come to her senses.

>"Alright alright...So, what is it you want?"

William notices that though the guards have left, there are numerous hidden spots located about the room. Some are elevated, up high where strange carvings lie, and others are just barely peeking out of the stone tiling. Clearing his throat, William speaks.

>"Well, like ah said, I came 'ere to negotiate some form o' agrreement wit ya. An' I'm not talkin' just diplomacy."

He say the last part winking, trying to act smooth. Surprisingly, it works.

>"Alright, so what do you want exactly?"

William opens his mouth to speak, then realizes something.

He has no fucking clue what he was supposed to do.

Clearing his throat for the 506th time this week, William begins to walk about the room. Casually leaning on fine lavender pillar, he crosses his arms and says:

>"Rright. 'ere's wha' I want."

>"First, ah wan' a guarrantee you won't attack the Highlands, the Tauren, or the Thriae."

Dai' Ly looks at her sister, confused look on her face.

>"We have no idea who the first and third you mentioned are..."

William stifles a laugh, covering it with a flirtatious smirk.

>"Secon' , I'd like to set up a trrade 'tween our lots. What 'ave ya got fer me?"

The Queen puts a pale purple hand to her chin, thinking deeply before replying. As she does so, William checks what spots he can and finds numerous sets of eye-holes. He could only hazard a guess as to how many different guards are watching right now.

>"We could give you slaves, gems, gold, marble, or oil. What can you give us in return?"

Snapping his attention back to the Queen, he's able to see various shades of red in the somewhat dim light adorning her face.

William's smirk disappears at the mention of slaves, and his brow furrows in frustration. He's barely able to keep his anger contained as he replies.

>"Nah, we don' want any slaves...What's t'at thing you mentioned...Marble! What's t'at?"

The sisters get a confused look on their face, looking at each other. Behind him William is able to make out hushed whispers, though he cannot understand what they're saying.

>"It's, uh...Stone. That's it. Just fancy stone."

William nods, then continues.

While the sisters are distracted, William takes a quick look behind. He sees what looks to be a pair of dark purple eyes staring right up at him. He gives a quick wink, then returns his attention to the two women in front of him.

>"Well, if you wan' tah be like that...Guess you wouldn't wan' me wit ya in bed, now would ya?"

Ay' Li bursts out in another fit of laughter, and Dai' Ly's cheeks turn rosy red as William walks out of the throne room. Shoving the doors open, he nearly knocks over the roughly twelve guards standing in front of it. His trip outside was relatively uneventful, sans the uncountable pairs of eyes staring at him as he walked back to the gates. Strangely, they were wide open. William makes a quick trip round to the previous location of his and Sophie's camp, only to find she's...not there...From the looks of it, there was a struggle, and there are bits of cloth leading to where William emerged behind the castle.

William's sight becomes clouded with various shades of red as he tears through the cavern. Occasionally he trips over a jagged rock, slightly cutting up his leg. He would then scramble back up, mutter something incomprehensible to anyone but him, then resume running. Eventually he saw light, and ended up back where he entered the city.

>" 'ELLO AGAIN! BYE AGAIN!"

This is all William says before he clambers over the walls (to the amazement of the various guards) and right back into the palace. He slams into the (what he presumes to be) marble door, knocking it off its hinges. As the dust settles, William stands with his weapon drawn in front of the sisters and a rather elaborately armored guard. In one of the guard's hands is a gagged snow Elf, and the other is (well, was) reaching for a jet black sheath.

William steps forward, breathing heavily as walks towards the trio. The handle of his sword is in an iron grip, and as he moves closer, he sees that the armored one appears to have an insignia attached to her armor. It appears to be two upwards swords crossed in front of a pale grey circle. At least, this is what he notices before he nearly lobs off the guard's head.

>"GIVE ME THE GIRL RIGHT FOOKIN' NOW!"

His voice is back, and the sheer volume of it makes everyone in the room retract, allowing William to make a grab for Sophie. He manages to get a hold of her, but before he can turn to leave he sees that the exit is now filled with guards.

>"You are surrounded, lay your weapon down and you'll be allowed to leave in peace."

Judging by the tone it seems to be neither of the sisters, and its muffled sound indicates it's likely coming from that guard you nearly killed just now.

William keeps his weapon drawn as he turns his head slightly, staring daggers into the three Dark Elves behind him. He hears the clang of metallic armor and throws a bit of dust he had picked up at them, hoping that it does something.

>"How 'bout no, and you tell me WHY TAH FUCK YOU'RE HOLDIN' MY DAUGHTER CAPTIVE!"

The sisters' eyes go wide with shock, as do some of the guards'. Dai' Ly struggles to speak, but is able to get out:

>"I-I-I thought you said she was the Queen of the Snow Elves."

William's bloodlust overcomes rational thought processing and he bellows out.

>"T'AT WAS A LIE! NOW ANSWER MY QUESTION RIGHT FUCKING NOW!"

The heavily armored guard steps forward, longsword in one hand and shield in the other.

>"You're holding a mongrel. This isn't a "daughter" or anything of the sort. It is simply our job to exterminate this pest."

William darts his eyes down for a moment to see if Sophie is alright. Her hair is covered in muck, and a mix of dirt, blood, and tears is visible on his cheeks. The area around her blue eye in particular seems to be severely beaten.

As I do so the hundreds of thousands of Highlanders will be running through your streets, burning this city to the fucking ground as we drag your corpses about on sharpened sticks."

William grabs onto the scruff of Sophie's shirt and pulls her to her feet. He pulls her close to his body and begins to back away from the mob slowly. His eyes have lost their humanity, and have since been replaced with those of a tiger on the hunt. Numerous guards are visibly shaking, though the trio seem (relatively unfazed).

As William is backing up, he is able to just barely realize what he is doing before he spins around and chops off the arm of a Dark Elf who was trying to pull him away. As the blood pours from the gaping hole, guards surge forwards and surround him. Unfortunately for them, he hadn't completely finished his swing, and three heads are soon rolling on the floor.

>"COME ON! I FUCK BEES STRONGER THAN YOU FOR FUN!"

The fact that this is true isn't enough to keep more guards from spilling through the door. Eventually William is able to carve a path through the small horde, all while keeping Sophie clutched tightly, to the palace gates. He brute forces his way through, and is soon sprinting through the streets of the city. Eventually they reach the city's gates, and manage to squeeze through the narrow openings out into the marshlands surrounding the city. As William looks up, he sees numerous squads sent out to find him, as well as a sky that goes from a mucky green to a familiar tundra grey over the city. Then he hears a distinctly familiar voice.

Though he now appears to be out on the open fields. The sounds of guns and armor clanking are still audible, so he and Sophie keep going for what seems like eternity. Eventually night falls, and the duo drop to the ground exhausted.

As the sun rises the next day, William awakes, feeling hungover moreso than any night in his life, and as he picks himself up from the ground, he sees a massive pillar in front of him. Then the pillar moves.

>A1: Defences
>86: Great success!

As William and Sophie return, they don't get a welcome like before. This is mainly due to the fact that they left rather unexpectedly, and the fact that the ground has begun to shake every few days has kept their minds off of the two. They soon collapse, but not before warning of an impending attack. As such, the few soldiers still in Drozen promptly freak right the fuck out and dig enough moats around Drozen to make a bloody lake. Then they fill it with lava because why not.

>Lava lake dug around Drozen!

>R2: Testing
>93+5+5+5=108: DOUBLE HOLY FUCK

The recent invention of the periodic table has led some of the more intrepid blacksmiths to begin experimenting with the various elements of the world. Some are successful, others lead to small explosions or great balls of fire. The end result is:

>A)
The discovery of bronze, while not as strong as steel or even iron, is still an invention of note.

>B)
The discovery of brass allows many new different instruments, such as the trombone, the trumpet, and the baritone, to be invented!
>Trombone invented!
>Trumpet invented!
>Baritone invented!

>C)
Sleep, when combined with Magicite, is found to completely negate the effects of the strange material. On top of this, it seems to be a good luck charm, and makes anyone carrying it rather happy!
>Sleepite invented!

>R3: Breeding
>1: Critical. Fucking. Failure.

It seems that half-breeds have a hard time with it. They don't grow beyond human child size, and many are subject to completely random bursts of changing voices. As such, it's rather hard to take them seriously, and many end up drowning themselves. After this is realized, several people realize that they're much more subject to volatile mood swings. Of course, when they're happy they're some of the best people to be around, while other times they can tear you a new one physically, mentally, and metaphorically.

>There is another problem with them, but I cannot reveal it as of yet.

>A4: Scouts
>73+15=88: Great success!

A few of the more brave members of the Army are sent out to try and find out if the Dark Elves are doing some shady shit. They soon report back with...Empty reports?

>"Sir, the Dark Elves appear to be doing, pardon my language, sweet fuck all. In fact the only thing of note is they seem to be expanding the swamplands. Why we don't know."

>A5: Ecstacy
>8: Catastrophic failure!

One of the researchers of Sleepite decides it would be a good idea to taste this new substance. This leads him to run down the streets butt-naked yelling about how he can taste color. After the come down, he tries to "sell" his "product." Those stupid enough to believe his promises soon follow what he had done, flapping in the wind.

>A6: Sleepite Armor
>75: Above average success!

While that guy was tripping balls, one of the other researchers decides to try and work the material into a set of armor. When he donned it, he finds that the normal effects remain present, though he finds it hard to get angry at anything. On the plus side, it seems to be just as strong as steel.

>A7: Keeping up our end of the deal
>83: Great success!

A drone buzzes into Drozen carrying a message for William. After a some rather vocal complaints over how he always has to go out and do shit for the tauren, William reads it.

>"To my dearest William."
>" I, Queen Cloa, request your presence for...Diplomacy. I recommend you arrive within the next week or so, as I've got a few plans I need your help with."
>"Love, Cloa"

William groans a bit before sending the drone on her way, and begins to debate in his head whether or not to bring Sophie along with him.

>William will depart for the Hive at the end of this turn!

>R4: Dark Elf Combat
>60+5+5+5=75: Above average success!

William speaks with some of the Army captains, having been requested to share information as to the combat capabilities of the Dark Elves. He says they're roughly around the same technological level as us, but most of their armor is far heavier. It's also much more angular, and some bits just seem a bit uneccessary. He also makes a passing comment about how the Dark Elves are expanding the marshes, though this is largely disregarded.

>A8: Therapy
>14+5+5+5=29: Below average failure!

The ecstasy problem has gotten a bit out of hand, any many try to corral users inside buildings to keep them from scarring small children. This has the opposite effect, and many buildings become run-down drughouses. To say they're a bit unclean would be like saying Detroit is only slightly over budget.

>A1: Actually talking
>43: Average!

The Dryads seem to be few and far between, but somehow the one you have met managed to make it back without anyone noticing. When questioned as to what exactly it is her people do, she goes on a bit of a tangent.

>"We've got little in the way of customs, as you say. We live and let live, and any animal or plant we find we ensure remains safe. This extends to...Settlements. I personally do not mind your small home, so long as you don't ruin the lands surrounding it. Others I am not so sure of."

>"We don't keep a written history. What one Dryad knows all know. The only recent event to stick out in my mind is the Corruption of Sister Azlota. The "Fungals" as you call them infected her as she tried to aid some smaller creatures escape their tide. They took her form, crafted by Gaia herself, and twisted it into a mockery of us. Even now I can feel her essence tugging at my mind, begging for me to free her and simaltaneously demanding that I wither up and die..."

She then stares off into the distance, seemingly lost in her own thoughts.

>A2: Pop. Growth
>95: Amazing success!

People seem to be in a good mood nowadays. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, all that shit. As such, some take it upon themselves to bring more people into this world to share the happiness. Someone even bothers to take headcount of the Dwarves!
>+40 to all biological growth in Cuth!
>Dwarf population: 145 adults

>R: Poison
>39+5+5+5=54: Average!

The various roots and flora surrounding Cuth lead to several curious men and women to pick and eat some of them. This leads to some untimely deaths, though sometimes it actually makes someone feel a bit better, healing minor wounds or making it harder to get a sunburn. Many people simply take a chance with them, and don't bother to categorize the plants.
