This is Devil May Cry Quest, a quest centered around the life of a young man who lives in rural Pennsylvania. It is set several years after the events of DMC4. You play as Duncan, a 19 year old man who works as Devil Hunter, and lives in an income-based apartment, alone. You were raised by catholic nuns for years after your parents left you on the doorstep of the church. None of the nuns know who left you or why you were left behind. After being adopted, you moved from home to home regularly when your foster parents would frequently have some form of tragedy strike them. Your two best friends are guys you went to highschool with, Robbie and Ted. Ted has recently passed during a demon attack. Your greatest motivation in life is hunting Devils. Recently, as an act of mercy, you've brought home a young Devil girl named Katja. She is highly sadistic, but after you annihilated her clan in a single night, she claims that you've earned the right to be called master. You have hinged the lives of those around you on the word of a Demon?

You live an extraordinary life. There are many odd aspects about you. Stark white hair, and an extraordinary physical strength and reaction speed. A giant sword named Abandon is your primary weapon, along with a standard issue police shotgun and a custom 1911 Colt .45.

Votes end after 10 minutes. Write-ins are an option, but stupid suggestions will be ignored at my discretion. Have fun, and try not to get everyone you know killed. Or others, for that matter.

You lay in your bed, staring up at the ceiling. There's been a clear pain gripping your chest ever since yesterday, when you lost a friend during the attack of a Devil. You quietly assess the situation to yourself, wondering if there were something, anything you could have done different to save him. You haven't called Robbie, or Ted's parents, for fear of the emotional toll. To be frank, you're not even sure if either of Ted's parents are alive.

You sit up, the motion requiring all of your strength. Your bedroom door is open, and just down the hall a Devil of your own lays on the couch, sleeping. Katja is a wolf demon who you gave mercy, in hopes that she would change her ways. There is a great conflict in your own heart. The story she told you of your heritage as a half breed, Sparda, or more likely his sons. But then, there was also that chanting in your most recent vision of Hell. Ave Mundus. The other one. But hasn't Mundus been sealed away for over two thousand years? How could you be his son, twenty years of age?

There's a lot on your mind. What do you do?

You pull open your laptop, and start to search the web for any clues about the biker gang that rolled through town. Lady had said that they'd been tearing across the nation in a campaign of terror, leaving demons in their wake. You search for a pattern of 'natural disasters' and 'accidents' and such, and sure enough you're starting to be able to see a path form when you reference it to a map. The bikers seem to have come in from the south and started to curve westward once they passed Dunwich. You've got a rough idea of where they're heading, and you also know that this Lady chick is following them. You can't help but admit that you feel a bit of disdain for her shoot first ask questions later style, but with more important things at hand you elect to ignore those feelings.

While you're at it, you do a quick general search on Mundus. There isn't much more than what Katja had told you, other than old legends displaying his cruelty. You shut the laptop and stand up, heading into the bathroom to wash your face. You look tired. You walk into the living room and glance at the sleeping demon on your couch, the faint blue light of the television cast over her face.

You open your door and quietly step out, being sure as to not wake Katja. Less for her peace, and more for yours. If she saw the book that's in your bike, she may very well use it for her own devices. While at this moment she seems to want to repent for her mistakes, you can never really be sure with a Devil like her. Aside from being insanely dangerous, the other thing that most demons are known for is an impeccable ability to lie and deceive. You're starting to believe that she's no different, and that the sobbing begging from when you had the chance to kill her was just that. After all, it would make sense that reverting to her helpless human form as final act of defense when she was beaten would be an escape tactic.

You put the thought away for now, deciding that Katja isn't what's important in this moment. You pull out your cellphone and dial Robbie's number. It's very early in the morning, with the sun just now starting to rise. He should be getting up, about now. Robbie's old fashioned that way. Your phone rings a few times, and he groggily picks up. "Hey." He flatly states. "Sup?" you ask. There's a clear tension currently, the weight of the subject hanging over both of your heads like an ax. "Getting ready for work. Look, I uh..I saw all those military helicopters. All those soldiers near Ted's place. I couldn't get past the road blocks to get a good look. I figure, if his house is being blocked like all the others, it's probably crushed too, right? Don't tell me I'm right, man. Don't."

You gulp. You can tell he's rightfully panicked. You didn't even need to explain the situation to him. The only thing you have to say is a single word to confirm his suspicions. "You're right." You hear a sharp intake of breath across the phone, and the normally gruff, in control Robbie's voice breaks slightly as he asks the obvious question. "And Ted..?" You bite your lip. "Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry." You hear him groan painfully, and the sound of glass shattering. There's a few moments of silence before he speaks up again. "I've gotta go. Thanks for..telling me. I'll talk to you later." You tell him goodbye, and hang up as you start to make your way down the stairs.

The light is breaking over the horizon, and you take a seat on your bike and open up the storage compartment to grasp the demonic book. You stare at the leather bound cover for a few moments. It's a sickly blue color. You open it up and look at the table of contents, glancing at what's available to read.

Firstly, you open the book up to the section about Devil Arms. You see various illustrations of demonic look weapons, and when you look at the descriptions you feel a sudden rush of understanding. The book states that a Devil Arm is the manifestation of a Devil's power, turned in to the form of a weapon. Sometimes a Devil can willingly turn their soul into a Devil Arm, although this process is permanent. Other times it is transformed as it dies, either as a side effect of the demon's inherent power or by the will of the killer. The final, and least common way for a Devil Arm to manifest, is as a representation of a Devil's own power. The most common example of this is Sparda's sword, Force Edge. It was sealed within the legendary Temen-Ni-Gru, a tower that served as a portal between the Demon and Human realms, until Sparda sealed it away as a prison for some of the world's most dangerous Devils.

You read on, and the book goes on to specifically mention the relationship between half breeds and an ability known as Devil Trigger. Some Devil Arms are able to harmonize with these half-breed Demons, and draw out their full power. Usually the more powerful a Devil Arm, the easier it is to access Devil Trigger. It is a practiced technique requiring great control and power, but when mastered it can turn an ordinary half-breed into a compact tool of destruction. One of the Sons of Sparda is rumored to have mastered this technique at a very young age, though it is unknown if it was a superficial or true mastery of a Devil's power.
>>
>>40687324

You look at the illustration of the supposed Devil Trigger of the Son of Sparda. It's quite terrifying, and reminds you greatly of what you had seen the red haired Devil do when you first met him. Is he a half-breed as well? Or maybe the weapon he's carrying granted him that power? As you think of this, you realize that your own sword, Abandon, is a manifestation of your own power. It's almost certain that you can learn this technique as well. But how?

Will you keep reading?

You flip the book until you come to the section about Sparda and Mundus, near the start. It doesn't tell you much beyond what you don't already know, initially. However, soon the book begins to detail the abilities of Sparda and Mundus, and their natures. Apparently Sparda was a demon who stepped forward and saved humanity, a paragon of justice who was once the King Devil's greatest soldier. You look up at your apartment, and wonder how a Devil even more savage than Katja could preform such a harsh turn. When it goes on to speak of Mundus, apparently he was just the opposite. Mundus hated humanity, and wanted to rule both the Human and Demon realms as a God. Mundus had the ability to create life artificially. There is an illustration of the Eyes of Mundus, three white and red dots surrounded by electricity. It's the exact same image that you've seen in your visions. You wonder if this is a result of you being his child, or simply a connection that all Devils have to the king. Of course, later on, you also see that an illustration of Sparda shows that he has three eyes as well, although his third is more of a diamond shape and gem-like.

You close the book, and make your way up to your apartment. When you open the door, you see that Katja is now awake. She's curled up with a blanket looking at the television, appearing rather frazzled. She looks up at you as you enter, puzzled. "What were you doing out there so early?" You walk over to your fridge and pull out beer and bear jerky, and start to chow down on your breakfast as you think of an answer. "Checking my bike out. Making sure there wasn't anything wrong with it." She yawns, stretching her arms high up into the air before responding. "Why's that?"

You finish up your food, throwing a handful of Jerky at her. She frowns and picks it up, starting to tear into the food. She grumbles at you. "Don't you ever eat anything besides meat?" You crumble up the beer can, tossing it into the trash behind you. "Yeah. Pizza. Didn't you hear? It's a vegetable now, or something." She finishes her food, and you walk over to your closet to take out your shotgun, slinging it over your shoulder. "I'm thinking of going after those satanic bikers that came through town. You're coming with me, of course. Can't give you the choice of running away again, can I?"

She crosses her arms and pouts as you gather up the rest of your equipment, tucking away your Colt in your coat and your sword in it's case. You open up your cell phone and put in the GPS coordinates of where you want to go to follow the bikers, and turn to her. "Go ahead and start getting ready while I map out where we need to go. I don't know how long this could take, so we want to be ready." She frowns. "I don't even have any clothes to change into, though!" You think for all of four seconds on the matter. If it didn't mean constant bitching, you wouldn't even think twice about it. "We'll get you something on the way. Just get ready."

Minutes later, you're down on your bike waiting for Katja. She comes down in the same outfit as yesterday, thankfully not cutting up any more of your clothes. You hand the sword case to her, and she slings it over her back as she climbs on the bike behind you. You've got your shotgun under your arm, and certainly look like you're ready for business.

You fire up your bike, and roll out.

It's time to collect what's due.

You travel westward with Katja for days at a time, only ever stopping to get gas and every now and then sleep at a motel. Thankfully you're both demons who can ignore their fatigue for quite a while, and the drive to catch the bastards who caused Ted's death only pushes you on even more. As you're following the trail, you constantly update the GPS in accordance with whereever the news seems to be reporting disasters. Now that you think about it, the military must be trying to chase these bastards down as well what with all the trouble they're causing. You wonder what their motives are as you drive, if they're simply a sect of cultists who want to raise hell (literally) or if they have some sort of higher purpose.

In any case, you've travelled to the midwestern states. The roadtrip has been long and arduous, though Katja hasn't been able to talk much over the sound of the wind, which makes you thankful. You notice that you've also been oddly fortunate enough to have not been pulled over by any police who would question you. You pull into a gas station in the middle of no where, green fields all around you, and set your gun on your bike, instructing Katja to wait out here. You get up and start to browse the shop.

The bugs out here in the midwest have been pretty terrible, so you grab a pair of aviator glasses and try them on. They fit pretty well, so you decide to buy them. You look at your reflection in the mirror on the side of the rack, and feel a sudden realization. The Duncan that's looking back at you isn't the same one from a month ago. Your shoulders are broad, and while you were once a bit lanky, you now exhibit a clear strength and confidence. The glasses compliment the coat, books, and dark clothing quite well. You certainly look like someone who's dangerous.

You grab a bag of jerky for yourself, and some sour gummy worms for Katja. You make your purchase and exit the building. You see that Katja isn't by your bike anymore, and a quick glance around makes your heart skip a beat. She's got her hand on her hip, and is seemingly chatting up a small group of bikers. Bikers with spiked leather, and satanic symbols and tattoos all over their clothes. Some are bald, with a tattoo of curved horns on their head.

You toss the jerky and candy over to your bike seat. What do you do?

You calmly make your way over, stepping beside Katja with a grin on your face. As you step near them, the undeniable scent of demons fills your nostrils. You're sure that they're not full demons in disguise, like Katja is, but rather humans with demonic power. That probably means that they're not aware of what you are. The one with the horns tattooed on his head sneers at you as you approach, spitting on the ground near your boot. He turns to Katja. "Who's this faggot? Your little brother?"

There's six of them in total. You can see various buck knives strapped to their boots, and you're positive that there's a few guns hidden among their vests. All you do is chuckle at his introduction, and turn to Katja. "I see you're making friends." She rolls her eyes and looks at you, before turning back to the bikers. "Nope. He's my keeper. Real mean. Doesn't let me do anything I want. I was hoping you nice boys could save me, maybe?" You scoff. "Nah, these boys won't be saving you, girl. I don't think this travelling bondage group could do shit, in fact." You take your glasses off, peering at the man with the horn tattoos and stuffing them in your jacket pocket. They collectively stand off their bike, steaming. The leader points a finger into your chest. "Listen here you little fuckin'-!" Katja steps between you two, pushing him away. "Hey, hey now. Why don't you stop this? For me?" She twirls her hair, and the hypnotic effect of her voice seems to get him to step back, although it doesn't look as though the effect will restrain him for long, seeing as his fists are clenched. She chuckles. "Look..I like your bikes. I like your tattoos. You should tell me where your gang's based at, so I can join in on the fun~"

You cross your arms, faking an angry look. The biker looks at you and chuckles. "Sure babe. We're the Mundus's Blade. Boss is sittin' at Austin, Texas. Why don'tcha forget this faggot and hop on a real man's bike for a change, eh..?" As he says this, he steps forward and places a hand on her rear, pulling her close while sneering at you.

She makes a small "Eep!" noise as he does this, and drives her elbow upwards into his nose on response. The man reels backwards as his nose explodes from the impact, blood spraying down his shirt. "You fuggen bitch! You're both dead!"

The gang all whip out various weapons. Some of them slip on spiked knuckles, while others take the knives from their boots. The leader steps behind his bike to pull out a sawed off shotgun, and another has a large revolver in hand pointed at your head. They're stepping towards you menacingly.

You turn the palm of your hand up, focusing the demonic magic into your palm. The air around you swirls with a cool breeze, and a miniature vortex of snow spins in your palm, collecting at the center until it forms a diamond shaped shard. You look down at it, and up at the bikers. They've stopped moving, but don't appear all too impressed. The leader scoffs, holding up his shotgun and aiming at your head. "That's cute, fella. It's too bad you won't get the chance to use it."

Katja breaks to the left as he says this, and them man turns his weapon towards her for a fraction of a second, leaving himself exposed. The one behind him with a revolver whips his gun up to fire it at your head, but you see his movements clear as day and roll to the right to dodge the blast. Behind you, the gas station window shatters. You fling the shard of ice upwards into the ribs of the leader, and he cries out in pain before he can shoot Katja. He looks down at the shard, shocked. Frost seems to be spreading all around it, coating his jacket. His gun clatters to the ground as he groans in pain, and the flesh of his neck can be seen turning blue and dead as the magic spreads throughout his body. He falls forward, over his bike and landing in front of you. You step forward, and stomp down with your boot to shatter his ribcage, crushing the passed out man's organs and covering your shoe in gore. The bikers all step back, shocked, too preoccupied with you to notice that Katja's run up on one of them. She thrusts her hand outward, her nails piercing the throat like a dagger and turning the biker's cries into a garbled, bloody mess.

They take a step back, and all start to cut at their own hands oddly, either with knives or spiked knuckles. The one with a gun is rapidly pointing it between you and Katja, clearly unsure of what to do.

The blood on the ground starts to boil and expand, and clawed, furry hands start to crawl out of the blood. The bikers all chuckle madly, apparently having preformed some sort of demonic ritual. The Demons are goatlike and a little shorter than your average man, but there's a hateful glean in their eyes that tells you they're more dangerous than they look. You whip out your pistol and fire it in their bodies as Katja deftly dodges the swipes of the biker's knives. They certainly seem both faster and stronger than ordinary humans, but it's nothing that she can't handle. They don't even really register on your radar, in fact. But these demons might be another story entirely. There are about two dozen of them.

You fire the gun into their small bodies, blood exploding out the back. The ones you shoot wince and give a shrill cry, but even a shot to their hard skulls isn't fatal. What do you do?

You reach down and pick up the Sawed off Shotgun at your feet, and hold it outward along with your colt. One of the demons rushes at you from the left, and you rapidly squeeze the trigger of your Colt into it's face, sending it reeling back for a moment. You cross your shotgun over your arm to point at it's stomach, and fire it off, showering you in demonic gore. The creature flies backwards about ten feet with a bleeding stomach, although it stands up a few moments later.

Another comes at you from the right, and you give it a good, hard front kick to send it flying and crashing into a few of the other goats. You keep your Colt level and shoot it out into the crowd of demons, peppering them with the bullets to hold them back. You flip your shotgun down and up, emptying the chamber of shells and reloading it with your demonic energy instead. A demon rushes you from the front, and you fire the shotgun directly into it's face, sending it on it's back. You leap forward onto it's stomach, crushing it's spine with an audible crack before kicking off with your other foot. You rotate along the concrete with it's body, holding out your Colt and firing wildly as you travel through the crowd of demons into the road, kicking off it and landing with a flip. There's a trail of blood where you slid along. Katja looks over at you for a moment and scoffs, mumbling something to herself. "Crazy.."

One of the goats points it's head downward and charges at you, intending on goring you with it's horn. You throw your Colt up into the air, and spin on your heel to dodge it. As it goes past, you grip it's horn and twist it off with a snap, a dagger of bone in your hand. It screeches in pain, and you point the shotgun behind you without looking and fire into it's back, sending it reeling forward so that it's laying face down in the concrete. You spin once more as another goat rushes you, stabbing it in the eye with it's ally's horn, slicing cleanly into it's brain and dropping it dead. Behind you, a semi-truck crushes the body of the goat who's horn you ripped off, spraying your back and hair in blood.

You hold out your hand, and calmly catch the Colt, walking forward with confidence. Looking over, you see that Katja's killed almost all of the bikers, barring the one with a revolver and another with spiked knuckles. There are about a dozen goat demons left. What do you do?

You sprint forward, pounding the barrel of your Colt into the eye of a Goat and pulling the trigger, emptying it's skull. Your shotgun starts to glow with a silver power, until it's crackling with lightning. You swing it around and whack the head of a Goat, twisting it's head all the way around. It falls to the ground limply. Firing your Colt rapidly and pistol whipping any demons who get close, you finish the charge of your Shotgun.

The goats all gather in front of you, charging forward with an odd screech in a final assault. They bound on all fours, and you level your shotgun towards them and take a deep breath. You squeeze the trigger, and a silvery explosion erupts from the barrels, turning the first few bodies into a red mist. The rest of the demons are peppered with bullets, some of them losing limbs and others having their skulls pierced. Gore rains from the sky as they splatter against the ground, the wet sound of flesh on concrete is music to your ears. Some of the demons are alive and bleating in pain on the ground, but none of them can move.

You turn to Katja just in time to see her leaping at the final biker with the revolver, blood on her face and hands. He holds up his gun and repeatedly hammers the trigger, the shots exploding from his barrel with apparent Demonic energy. She's launched backwards as four shots riddle her body, piercing straight through and showering the concrete behind her with blood. You calmly whip your Colt upwards, and place a single bullet in the man's brain, ending the combat.

Rushing over to Katja, you kneel at her side. There's blood leaking from her mouth, and she looks up at you with tears welling up in her eyes. You realize now that she isn't very experienced in combat at all, seemingly having relied on her status as the Alpha for protection in her pack. Her bare stomach has several holes in it, all bleeding profusely. What do you do?

You pick Katja up, quickly carrying her over to the gore of the goat demons and setting her in the center of the pool. You lay your palm flatly on her stomach, and the blood all around begins to swirl, even the gore of the still-living demons twists and focuses until it's a concentrated liquid. It focuses into her stomach, even the blood soaked on you and her washing off cleanly and filling her flesh so that it heals. When you're done, her stomach is lily white and healed completely, as if she had never been damaged at all.

She's staring up at you with confusion, and you stand and walk over to the gunman's corpse. You pick up the revolver, and examine it. It's rather fancy, with the engraving of a steer's skull on the wooden grip, and a fancy design all along the barrel. It's a .45, and a Colt as well. You look at the two guns in your hand, and Katja has stood up and walked over to the bike. Though you don't notice it as you examine the weapon, she picks up the pack of gummy worms and stares in your direction, a neutral, but serious expression on her face.

You tuck the weapon into your coat, deciding on keeping it. You pick the Sawed off Shotgun again, and make your way over to your bike next to Katja. You look between the standard police issue shotgun, and this one. You toss the police shotgun over to where the corpses had been, and look at the Sawn off. From what you can gather, it's superior in every way. The same gauge, except more compact, with double the bullet count. You can store it in your bike, as well. You place the gun into the back compartment, along with the clothes that you had allowed Katja to purchase on your way up here from a thrift store. You turn to her, and cross your arms when you find her staring at you. "What?"

She mumbles a "Thank you." and you elect to ignore it for a moment as you sit on your bike, and start the engine. You get a glance into the window of the gas station, and see that the clerk was killed by the stray bullet that you dodged earlier. Damn.

You chuckle. "What sort of demon gets almost merc'd by humans?" She 'hmphs's audibly behind you, and it makes you grin. "It's not like I could turn into my Wolf form. I don't want to end up getting cornered by another Devil Hunter. Fuckers seem to be everywhere, apparently. Besides, you told me not to do it unless you say so, right?"

You nod. "That's right. I guess at some point I'll just have to show you how to fight." This causes her to laugh, now. "What, like you're the expert? If you weren't such a freak of nature you'd have handled this about as well as I did." You think on this for a moment. Son of Mundus, Son of Sparda, Son of a Son of Sparda, either way, you're pretty damn unique in comparison to most demons in the world it seems. It's a fortune that you've crossed this path. If you hadn't, then Ted wouldn't be the only one gone. That monster would have still came to town. All the people you've helped would have died. Robbie might have died too. You could have died. You turn your neck slightly towards her, and speak in a quiet, and more serious tone. "You're a part of my 'pack', now, right? Don't worry about it." She nods, and wraps her arms around your waist to hold on as you fire up the bike, and pull off, roaring down the road to Austin Texas to confront the gang of bikers and their boss.

That's all for tonight, everyone. Next thread is either Saturday or Sunday at 7 PM, and I'll try not to be late this time!

As always I'll stick around for questions. Hope you had fun.

Good time as always, thanks for running!
>>
>>40689889
It wasn't actually electric, that was just the way the demonic power manifested itself. Think Dante's Charge Shots in DMC3.

I want you to know you are both sad and pathetic, and that I was right all along, you really are a faggot who has to get the last word even when there's nothing to say, and you are completely and inarguably wrong, to the point that even you can't twist it around.
>>
>>40689905
It`s just i feel that since we chose the ice, those manifestations should be of ice nature aswell
like if we lose a limb it doesnt grow back rapidly - you make a frosen one,and then it changes to a real one

I do not feel shame, what purpose do your words have?
>>
>>40689949
nah you're not restricted to just one element. You guys will have the potential to learn both as well, appearing as electricity is just the standard, non-elemental way that demon energy manifests.
>>
>>40690168
Do certain Devil Arms also give off certain energy? Like Ifrit, or Alastor? Also, when Devil Trigger kicks in, does that mean experience can be spent to buy stuff like wings?
>>
>>40690215
Certain Devil Arms do have elemental affinities.

As for Devil Trigger, it'll develop on a pretty linear path as opposed to having options to develop it, since it's directly tied to your heritage. Modifying Devil Trigger and how you use it will mostly deal with what Devil Arms you're using, and what of your other techniques you use, as they all get more powerful.

Can we give Katja the revolver?

I think it suits her and she apparently needs some long ranged attacks just to keep from being rekt.
>>
>>40690373
You can if you want, but next thread I was planning on having you guys name your revolver/1911 combo. They're both 45s and I figured that they matched Duncan well.

You can always find more guns down the line.
>>
>>40690389
Using mismatched guns triggers my autism.

I'll wait until we find or make a matching pair of pistols.
>>
>>40690389
>>40690373
We'll just nab some shitty 9mm for her next time we get the chance.

We still need a .50 cal for heavy work.
>>
I want to request something here.

We need a serious boss battle. Like some five stages, fifteen minute long boss fight that nearly kills Duncan.

Everything has come to easy so far. Let's test out mettle.

Next thread is actually going to be somewhat of a climax for this first arc. I didn't continue the thread tonight because I knew it would take up too much time, but you're certainly getting your boss fight then.

>Everything has come 'to' easy

>Wolf cult bloodied us up pretty bad
>>
>>40690613
Yes, but lightning fag freed the beast.

He knows not the butthurt he shall feel.
>>
>>40690630
You say that now, but at the same time you pray we won't run into him again until we're way stronger.

With DT going he's pretty legit.
>>
>>40690654
Not really.

His DT is what actually separates him and Duncan in power.

That and perhaps experience, but eh.
>>
>>40691050
So what you're saying is, you're not scared of him, but he's both more powerful and experienced than us so you're actually really scared of him.

Ok. Glad I could help you figure out how to feel about this.
>>
>>40691140
If I were scared of him I wouldn't be eager for a rematch, your bait is both flimsy and poorly thought out.

I implore you to improve your skills.

Waifuing your employees.
Yeah no, nyet, nein.
That is one of the many ways things can go to shit anons.
>>
>>40689215
Seriously, why waifu a literal bitch? At least wait and see if she actually becomes something we don't have to worry about putting down.
>>
>>40690613
>lightning fag surprised us with his strongest attack which just managed to put us out for a couple minutes
>wolf cult barely put a scratch on a tired and already banged up Duncan.

Try again dumbass.

They couldn't handle it.

Dumbass? I'm not the one who either has the worlds shittiest memory, or an inability to read.
>>
Just read the thread through and man Katja is just such a disappointment.

>low level Duncan beats her easily
>Lady beats her
>biker scrub puts her to near death

Shit Katja. Just shit.
>>
>>40691828
Nothing has challenged Duncan yet. How does ONE guy in his most powerful form using his strongest attack count?
>>
That wasn't his strongest attack, guys. That was a basic one.
>>
>>40691867
She's not that useful in her human form. Lady only beat her wolf form because she had the cover of the forest. If you guys go against a giant monster, having Katja go wolf form will show where she really shines.
>>
>>40691879
I hope you take a moment to read >>40691905
>>
>>40691905
I respectfully retract my previous assertion.
>>
>>40691921
My point still stands you nigger. Fact is we haven't been challenged in a strait up battle
>>
>>40691953
This. There's a difference between being properly challenged and being so outclassed you barely have a chance. A proper challenge pushes you to your limits and let's you learn about yourself and what you can do. Lightning guy was a rofl stomp that only served to show us that there are bigger fish in the sea.

An example is when playing a fighting game. You fight someone of similar, or maybe a bit above, skill level and you can actually have a chance to win and look and see what worked and what didn't and improve yourself based on that. Fighting against an opponent that completely outclasses you means that ANYTHING you try will fail and so you never get a chance to learn what works and what doesn't and basically you just slam your head into a brick wall for a while, accomplishinf nothing besides getting rekt.
>>
>>40692901
>>40692901
You've more or less gotten lucky the few times that something would have completely dominated you. When it came to the zombie giant, if you wouldn't have leapt into it, you wouldn't have gotten Abandon so quickly.

With the Banshee, without reading the passage of the book you did, that fight would have been much harder.

The werewolves were a challenge, but not overly so. You were tired after days of struggle, and your employer still died. While you won the fight, you more or less lost the battle.

The Horror slapped you around for a good bit before you figured out how to take it down. Lady was dominating you, too, but she wouldn't in most circumstances.

The bikers tonight were actually just a small squad of what you'll be going up against soon. Their demons might not be strong, but they can make up for it in numbers. Plus their boss is coming up.
