To the west was Aglio, where the mountains were said to touch the sky and everyone wore golden rings. The great kings of the world had ruled from there, back when there were kings of the world. My friend Berdi's uncle went to Aglio to seek his fortune, and every other month he sent a package with money in it back to Berdi's parents.

Czekolada wasn't to the east, or to the west, and it didn't have any great kings. It was just... here.

That's me. My name is Aldi. I've lived in Czekolada my entire life. My family has lived here since anyone can remember.

"Aldi, watch your brother!"

That's my mother. Her name is Marzi. She takes care of my brother and me. We used to have a father, but he was killed in Spinat when Grigi was a baby. My grandfather lives with us as well. He's the mayor-provost, but that just means that once a year he puts on special clothes and lights a fire in the town square.
>>
"Look out!"

"Sorry!"

That's Sanda. I think she's the most beautiful girl in the world, but I've never told her that. Her father owns the cafe, so she gets to meet all the people who pass through from other places. It also means their house has air conditioning.

However, I plan to try and maintain a weeknight thread this week, so if I'm not too worn-out when I get home from work, we'll be able to keep going for at least a few hours during the evening.

You are correct, it is the Alienator, set 6876.

http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=6876-1

As a kid, this was possibly my favorite set. I used the instructions to build several others for different factions, and treated them like fearsome war machines. I recently rebuilt one on a whim and posted some cheesecake promotional pictures of it with this fig, which I've been calling the Blacktron Booth Babe, on /toy/. She's also the Pig Girl up thread >>40728519

I don't have any of those pictures anymore, but I rebuilt the Blacktron Alienator into a racing hovercar, then used the template to put together the stomper seen in this episode, with a lot of ornamental crap on top.

I also used her for a lighting test to create a liquid wash effect. I think it turned out pretty swell.

Some more Easter eggs as they occur to me: Aldi's family has an autophone, seen when he and Sanda plan his escape. Either it's a family heirloom, or in this setting any peasant can own one.

The shreep are obviously a staple species of Lego Quest games, but if anyone is unfamiliar with them, they are a hardy and common domesticated animal found in many settings, and the stars of their very own game.
