I am Sief Atanor of House Atanor, heir to the Golem Raziel. Seeking answers for the actions of the dead giant Bonesnapper, I have journeyed to the Iquani Expanse to hunt down the giant's family. After a long journey I am finally at the abandoned imperial fort being used by Bonesnapper's foul mother and siblings as their base of operations.

With the aid of the Iquani princess Qualaji and her behemoth Kajilapa, we infiltrated the fort via old tunnels into the mesa by way of the haunted battleground at its base. With the unwilling aid of a basilisk we have managed to bring down three members of Mama Stump's clan, with another likely to follow from the basilisk venom coursing through his veins before much longer.

Better yet, so far the rest of the clan is none the wiser, and if Runt falls, we only have the giants Tooth and Skinner to deal with, and the inbred clan's matriarch herself. From her though, I need answers, answers about why she sent Bonesnapper to slay my mother, and now answers as to who this 'Man of the Gloam' who requested it was.

“Sief? What now? Should we hide the bodies, or get moving?”

Quala peers into the gloom around the cavernous and now quite gory chamber. Provided Runt survives the trip back to his kin to report, they might come looking. As of yet Runt doesn't know that anyone save Horsebiter is dead, or that the basilisk attack was anything more than an unfortunate coincidence. We could shift the other two into some side tunnel and maintain the charade a while longer, that is, provided we don't attract more attention before the work is done. Even with Raziel and Kajilapa's strength, hauling these bloated titans will not be quick work. A smart observer would most likely notice how much blood there was to have come from a single giant's struggle with a basilisk as well, but giants have never been accused of being smart or observant.

Better to ambush them here than where they might have a surprise waiting for us. Also Between the basilisk and the one it killed the blood might not be too out of place at a glance? Who knows. Even if they catch on I'd rather fight them somewhere like here.

If Run managed to notify the others, some of them will come investigating. This means they will be separated, which is good for us.
The ones coming to investigate likely expect a fight, but the ones who stay behind probably don't.
Now we can either take the certain encounter here, or we can try to ambush the one(s) who stayed behind and risk the ones sent to investigate getting back, missing our chance, or surrounding us.
Our two options are to stay here or move out stealthily, former is safer with higher difficulty of not all giants come to investigate, letter is less safe/certain with less difficulty if we succeed/are fast enough, and if some of the come to investigate at all.

Afraid not, you're in a large cavern carved into a chamber and supported with massive stone pillars. It was probably once a depot, however everything seems to have been demolished or removed to turn it into a lair for a giant, probably the giant that got killed by the basilisk.
>>
Also, just as a reminder to y'all, since I likely won't be here when it becomes relevant.
Salvage this place, it likely has some useful equipment since this used to belong to the empire.
Skin some giant(s), so we have a container for the Basilisk corpse. If we can't take the full corpse, then take the head. If we can't take the full head, then take the important bits that can be useful, like fangs, eyes, claws, some scales/bones, whatever, venom sack.
Interrogate Mama Stump.
Don't fuck Kajilapa, only love her tenderly.
Salvage the battlefield on the way back, there were those Bracers for instance which were heavy, hence why we didn't take them here. Don't take that spooky warpick though, that shit is obviously haunted. Do we know of any way to get an object unhaunted, Lordy? Could Virgil do it? Could a Iquani shaman or something that is likely in the settlement we met Quala in do it? Could the chiefson brat do it maybe?
Lordy, is lugging what I listed here(basilisk part, bracers, the weapons the giants had on them, any other weapons/armor useable, maybe a cannon) be carried by Sief alone? If not, how about by Sief and Kajilapa?

Good que
>>
So I caught up on this quest and I have a question.
In the first thread, you state Sief as 18, but more recent threads state him as 17, which is accurate?
>>
“Let's drag them out of sight, if that giant from before comes back with someone else, we might be able to ambush them again,” I reply, Quala giving me a nod and calling out some command to Kajilapa.

“The unused tunnel back there, we can use that,” the princess calls as Kajilapa grabs hold of the ankle of the dead giant Mauler, huffing and straining as she drags his hulking carcass. I bring Raziel over, taking the other ankle and aiding the behemoth with her task.

It is slow, unpleasant work, the giant's corpse seems determined to catch on every pillar, corner or bump on the way, and it's starting to leak some unpleasant fluids to boot. Kajilapa gives an unhappy moan, huffing deeply from her snout as if to cleanse her nostrils of the foul stink. Hopefully it should mingle well enough with the already rancid odor of giantish living.

We drag the corpse back down the tunnel, and over to the side tunnel, dusty and unused. The ground is more uneven here, so it proves even more of a challenge, but we manage to wedge the corpse far enough down to be out of sight.

Sighing, we step back over Mauler's carcass to go gather the other giant and repeat the process. The second trip is no less arduous, while the partially bisected giantess is less bulky than Mauler, the fact that she's almost split in two makes moving her a messy and difficult proposition, especially without leaving a trail so obvious even giants could follow it.

“I think we'll leave this bit out, when we tell tales of our glorious adventure later,” Quala calls, sleeve covering her nose as she sits atop Kajilapa.

“Agreed,” I sigh, tugging the carcass through a narrower part of the tunnel, leaving a foul puddle behind it.

We shove the hirsute giantess down into the gloom alongside her sibling, and return to the tunnel. Just in the nick of time it seems, as I can hear the echoes of faraway voices growing closer by the second. I gesture for Quala to hide herself in the gloom of the tunnel, slipping back into the chamber to lurk behind a pillar. Okay, so this didn't work all that well last time, but I'll put that down to bad luck rather than bad planning.

I wait, glancing down at Raziel's hands. The fingers are stained in blood and bile, and I don't envy Virgil having to clean them out when I return home. It's a short while before two figures arrive, the familiar, simpering form of Runt, looking more pallid and unhealthy than ever, the blackness of his poisoned arm having spread all the way up past the shoulder now. With him is another giant, less hulking than Mauler but still larger than average for a giant. Lanky, greasy, his long face twisted into a perpetual sneer of yellowed teeth, and his arms covered in patchwork of scars from elbows to fingertips. A large, vicious blade hangs from a makeshift belt, most likely once a golem weapon.

“I told ya, Skinner, Horsebiter bit it, jus' like I said,” Runt whimpers, looking up at his sibling, who spits off to one side.

“Yeah, he's dead alright. Did the basilisk bite 'im, or did he just croak from lookin' at it?”

“It stared at 'im and he started goin' all frothy and screamy, then he dropped down dead,” Runt explains, scratching at the peeling skin of his rotting arm.

“Then haul 'im back up, waste of good meat.”

“Eh, b-but he's so heavy, and my arm hurts, can't we just eat him here?”

“You want to tell Mauler and Mama they ain't getting' their share? You're as stupid as ya look, Runt,” Skinner sneers.

“No, I don't want Mama to be mad, I'll do it,” Runt whimpers, grabbing hold of the carcass and dragging it back towards the far exit.

Looks like it's now or never.

Some sort of holy man could possibly do it, if the item is indeed haunted in some way. Sief doesn't really know the details though, since such spiritual matters aren't really his purview.

>Lordy, is lugging what I listed here(basilisk part, bracers, the weapons the giants had on them, any other weapons/armor useable, maybe a cannon) be carried by Sief alone? If not, how about by Sief and Kajilapa?
Raziel might have trouble lugging a whole lot of stuff, Golems weren't really designed to be pack animals after all. With Kajilapa's help he might be able to though.

I bide my time, waiting for the perfect opportunity, watching as Runt complains with every step, dragging the carcass back towards the far tunnel. Several minutes pass and he's still not out, barely moving the larger corpse a few inches with every tug.

I can see Skinner getting more and more frustrated, tapping his foot, drumming fingers on the hilt of his blade. At last he snaps, shoving Runt aside with a roar.

“You fucking weakling, I'll do it myself,” he snarls, squatting down to heft the carcass, slinging it onto his back. I can see him straining under the weight as he turns to carry it to the tunnel.

There won't be a better opportunity than this. I rush out from behind the pillar, Raziel clearing the chamber in a few powerful strides. Runt shrieks as he spots me charging for Skinner, but the larger giant is too slow to turn in time to fully avoid the blow, and the sword bites deep into his side, the runes flaring as it burns away at the giant's flesh.

Skinner gives an agonized howl, slipping under the force of the blow and the weight of his dead sibling, crashing to the ground beneath the colossal carcass.

“Fuck, get this thing off me Runt,” he roars, as he struggles in vain to push Horsebiter's corpse from atop him before I can strike a killing blow.

Runt looks from Skinner to me, indecisive, then Kajilapa erupts from the darkness with a roar. That's more than enough to tip the smaller giant over the edge, and with a fearful shriek he turns, running for the far tunnel. I could finish off Skinner now, before he has a chance to get loose, or I could chase after Runt. Whichever I choose, Quala can handle the other giant. That is of course provided I don't want to take more captives for questioning, though my stomach turns at the thought of another torture session.

True, but Kajilapa would have to bite either the afflicted atm or shoulder, but she has powerful arms too remember. And I also doubt that Kajilapa or the princess are dumb enough to go for biting the poisoned areas, they aren't new fighters.
If it's still a concern anyways then we can charge Runt and have her finish Skinner, I'm cool with that.

Sorry this post is taking so long, something came up, almost finished now.

>>40798859
If it makes you feel any better, Runt has killed just as many innocent people as any other member of the clan.

Being the most pitiful of a family of giants does not mean that he can't inflict horrific suffering upon those smaller than himself, and indeed he enjoyed doing so since he spent so much time being pushed around for being the smallest by his family.
>>
“Finish off Skinner,” I shout to Quala, as I vault over the fallen giant to chase down Runt before he can warn what remains of his clan.

It doesn't prove to be much of a chase. Runt is smaller than Raziel, and barely standing from the basilisk venom, he's barely made it a little way down the tunnel before he stumbles, and I drive the blade of Raziel's sword between his ribs and out of his chest. Runt gives a pitiful whimper as he slumps down, his weight dragging him down off of the blade and into a heap on the tunnel floor.

Flicking some excess gore from the blade, I return to the chamber, to find Skinner dead, his throat ripped out. Quala gives Kajilapa a pat on the neck, the behemoth's snout stained red, sniffing the air as she lumbers away from the giant's carcass.

“You got him?”

“Yes, which means that unless Mauler missed any family members, it should just be the giant he called Tooth, and Mama Stump herself.”

“The Wyvern too, wherever they're keeping it. Don't let your guard down yet Sief, some of these giants were tough, but Mama Stump is a whole lot worse,” Quala replies, frowning.

“Do you know anything about this Tooth?”

“I don't know them by name, but all the ones I've heard about from reports of raids on my people are ones we've killed. Either Tooth never left anyone alive to give a description, or he doesn't get out much.”

>>40798941
The first of those options is not an inspiring one, but we must press on regardless. Gesturing for Quala to follow, I head off down the tunnel on the far end of the chamber, stretching off into the darkness ahead. It's a long walk, even for a golem, the fort must have been carved throughout the entire mesa, but thankfully it's easy enough to tell which way to go from signs of the giants having passed through.

At least until we reach a T-junction, both paths looking well-traveled and lacking in dust. A large bronze plaque sits on the opposite wall, still just barely legible with imperial script. It looks like the left tunnel leads to what was once the armory, while the right leads to some sort of archives, most likely for storing maps, supply logs and such. Either one could lead to Mama Stump or Tooth, there really isn't any way of knowing.

I spend some time pondering my options, Kajilapa's sniffing the only sound in the still tunnels.

“Any idea which way they came from?”

“Kajilapa's smelling them from both ways, they must pass through here a lot,” Quala replies, her behemoth lowing in response.

“Armory then, if we're lucky, we might find something to help stack the odds more in our favor.”

We set off down the tunnel, and before long it opens up into a wider walkway with raised platforms along the sides, smaller doors in and out of it, most likely leading to the areas which the fort's golems weren't required to go to. In places, the walkway opens up further to allow for higher, fortified platforms, long rusted artillery pieces sat atop them, most looking like they've been stripped for parts by some scavenger or other in the long years since the fort fell.

From the walkway, we step out into a massive chamber, the far end beyond the sight of Raziel's night vision to penetrate. Rows of alcoves flank us on both sides, devoid of the Golems that must have once stood there, save for a few rusting and damaged pieces that look like they were awaiting repairs. Smaller doors off to the side most likely lead to the chambers of the artificers, and every now and again the alcoves cease to allow for a massive reinforced doorway, most hanging open.

I spot more signs, Repair Hangers one through twenty, storage for weapons, function components and parts. Most look like they've seen some activity at some point, although not recently. Glancing at the row of hanger doorways, I spot one obvious thing that stands out however, Repair Hanger twelve, it looks like someone, either the giants or some long-dead imperial knight, has blockaded the gate, massive piles of heavy scrap heaped up against it.

“Sief, even through that metal shell I can tell what you're thinking. Are you sure about this?” Quala calls, having noticed my loitering in front of the barricaded chamber.

“This could be where they're keeping the wyvern. If we fight it now, we can take it out while it's alone,” I reply, starting to shift some of the scrap.

“If it is the wyvern. Whatever it is, they obviously went to a lot of trouble keeping it shut up in there.”

“Only one way to find out.”

“If this ends badly, don't say I didn't warn you,” Quala sighs, folding her arms as she watches me work, Kajilapa not being well suited to aiding in this task.

It's long, tedious, repetitive work, but eventually I have the scrap set aside. If it is a wyvern in there, it's a very quiet or well trained one, because I didn't hear a sound the whole time I was working. Raziel takes hold of the gate's handle in one hand, sword gripped hard in the other, pulling it open, the gate creaking and groaning under the strain.

No wyvern launches itself at me, nothing stirs at all as the gate swings open, showering Raziel with a cloud of dust.

“What is it?” Quala asks, Kajilapa tentatively plodding round to peer through the doorway alongside me.

It's no wyvern pen. I have stepped into a charnel house. Survivors must have sealed themselves up in here when the fort fell, hoping for a rescue which never came. Skeletal remains, many still wearing the tattered scraps of imperial uniforms lie scattered about the place, victims of hunger, thirst, and madness. The base of the gate is scored with countless scratches, and I shudder as I can almost hear the desperate pleas for salvation echoing down the dusty halls.

“Sief... we should not be in here,” Quala whispers, as I look past the bones to the golem shell slumped against the far wall, its faceplate cracked and dented, its cockpit ripped open and stained with dried blood.

I shiver, a chill creeping into Raziel, carried on the mana currents. Mist coils before my lips with every breath, the viewing screen frays at the edges with a spiderweb of corruption, flickering images and whispered words. The hollow eyes of the broken golem bore into me, patient and malevolent, drawing me in deeper and deeper.

I hear a ringing in my ears, a persistent noise on the edge of my hearing. The view screen shows nothing but the hollow pits of the golem's mangled face, the hatred boiling over, threatening to drag me down into the darkness.

My body feels numb, my arms heavy, I should move, I do not belong here, with the dead. My mind screams commands to a body that won't listen, sluggish and stubborn. I just need to step forward, just a few more steps and there will be peace, no more questions, no more mourning, I could bring an end to this whole sad charade that I am a knight, that I am anything but a scared child.

The ringing won't stop, won't let me step forward, won't let me rest. I can't, not yet, no matter how easy it might be. Blood hammers in my skull, my arms burn down to my fingertips with the strain as I reach for the controls, and then Raziel's hand is on the gate, and the eyes are gone, sealed away in its tomb of iron and stone once more.

Air floods back to my lungs as Raziel crashes to his knees before the gate, the ringing growing more coherent, a voice I recognize. Quala's voice, high with emotion.

“Sief? Sief, are you alright?”

I try to bring out the words, but my throat still feels tight. I breathe deep, calming my nerves. This fort is still heavy with grudges and regrets, after all these years, and even now I can still feel the weight of that malevolence hanging over me.

“I... I'm okay, we should barricade the gate back up,” I reply, dragging scrap metal and stone and anything else I can find. If I were a holy man, perhaps I would have some words to say, some prayer to the spirits to lay the ghosts within to rest, to grant them peace. I'm not, and it shames me that I can do is entomb them once more in the darkness.

“This is a very bad place Sief, we shouldn't stay here any longer than we have to.”

Banished Quest. Players put on a mask of a dead "god" and now we have a god-parasite feeding off our excess soul/magic energy.
>>
“Okay, we won't stay long, I just want to check out the store rooms for anything we can use, then we'll go,” I reply.

Kajilapa gives an unhappy moan, and Quala looks more than a little frustrated by my choice, frowning as she gives Kajilapa a reassuring pat on the neck.

“Fine, if looting this cursed place is so important to you. Just be quick.”

I move between the rooms, glancing in for anything of value, though my nerves fray more and more with every chamber I step into, expecting to come face to face with more of the restless souls bound to this place. Fortunately, all that greets me is dust and panicked vermin scurrying for dark corners at the tremor of Raziel's footfalls.

The Parts storage is mostly useless, replacement arms, legs, joints, shell pieces, all for designs now long obsolete. Some of them would probably be quite valuable to a collector, but they would be heavy and difficult to carry.

Functions contains numerous small mana crystals, carved stone cubes and other stranger devices. Many look to be dead, the power gone, or the clumsy hands of giants having cracked, scratched and shattered them. I spot a couple of items that still look to be in working order, though I have very little clue on what they do, and I would need to get them installed before they would be of any use. One is a rectangular block of greenish stone, scratched with an intricate pattern of geometric shapes which shine with stored energy. The other is a glittering prism of polished crystal, reflecting even the dull light of the torches into brilliance.

The weapons storage looks to have been looted quiet thoroughly already by Mama Stump's family, and being giants, they seem to have gone out of their way to smash a lot of the things they didn't want to use. Fortunately, while giants may be destructive, they are also careless and lazy, and there are still items tucked away in corners of the chamber that they failed to steal or ruin. I find a crate holding several more rounds for the hand cannon, and I store those away for later, bringing me up to a total or twelve shots. Aside from that, I find some sort of golem-sized war scythe, still sharp and glinting despite its years in the dust and grime of the armory, which means that there is probably some form of runic enhancement involved. I also spot some sort of long steel pole, carved with arcane markings. One end of the pole is wrapped in thick strips of something resembling leather and held in place with pins. I couldn't really say what it does, however, unless I were to investigate further and remove the leather strips of course.

I could probably carry around two more things without completely overburdening Raziel, maybe more if I could convince Qualaji to let me store them on Kajilapa.

Yeah it's taking advantage of 4chan's anti-spam practices, while you can post a slightly different post every minute, it takes five minutes before you can post the EXACT same post again. So if you give two standardized posts, and limit it to 5 minutes, you KNOW every post is at worst someone fucking with their IP address, which is more work than a samefag is usually willing to put in.
>>
>>40802347
Lots of lurkers or people who simlpy haven't checked the tab early enough to vote to leave room for samefagging.

The first vote for example was very likely samefagged.
25 out of 30 people bothering to vote is pretty extreme.

Second vote might have been.
15 people voting in such a short timeframe is kind of pushing it.

While I've no doubt Kajilapa could carry a few additional items, I fear I've already pushed the princess enough as it is without asking to turn her behemoth into a pack mule.

I retrieve the two function components, the greenish stone rectangle and the prism, storing them away in Raziel's few compartments. Returning to Qualaji, I find her sitting crosslegged atop Kajilapa, chin in her palm... I think she's sulking.

“Princess?”

...and now she's glaring.

“Sorry Quala, we can go now.”

“About time, the sooner these tunnels are behind us the better.”

She hops up onto her feet, flashing me a smile and issuing a command to Kajilapa, who gratefully lumbers away from the dusty side rooms and onwards, the behemoth's head bumping affectionately against Raziel's side as she steps up alongside me.

Well, at least they doesn't seem to be the type to hold a grudge about every little thing. Even setting aside the potential political ramifications of offending the princess, I'd feel bad about it on a personal level, and I have more than enough concerns weighing on my mind right now without adding that to them.

The path heads past the armory, and starts to slope up sharply, giving way to staircases with complex pulley systems along the edges for ferrying large groups of the fort's military personnel. Kajilapa gives a sniff, shaking her head slightly, I'm still a long way from understanding every sign the behemoth gives, and I doubt I'll ever understand her even a fraction as well as Quala does, but I'd say she looks a little happy.

“Kajilapa smells fresh air, this must lead up to the top of the mesa,” Quala explains.

(cont)
>>
>>40802677
The top of the mesa means we'll be out of these tunnels, but it also most likely brings us closer to Mama Stump, we'll have to be even more cautious. Before long, I spot faint light ahead, and gesturing for Quala to wait, I take a few steps ahead, peering out into the heavy grey skies.

The top of the mesa is fortified, several massive buildings surrounded by countless smaller ones. Many of them are smashed or defaced, and the imperial banners have been torn from the walls of the central command building, replaced with what look suspiciously like tanned behemoth hides.

There's no way we can go out there without being spotted by anyone who cares to look, there simply isn't enough cover to hide a golem and a behemoth. I can't see any giants, but they could easily be lurking in one of the larger structures.

Of course there is one other option, one method by which we could sneak in and scout out the area unseen, but the risks would be great.

I step off the main path into a secluded side area, Quala following me curiously as I open the cockpit.

“There's no way we can go up there with Raziel and Kajilapa without getting spotted, and we don't want to get in a fight with Mama Stump, Tooth and the wyvern at once. I'm going to go up on foot and take a look around, then we can make a plan of attack. You can come with me if you want, or you can stay here and guard Raziel.”

Quala frowns. “Hmm, that's a bold plan, you'd be in some serious trouble if you got caught on foot.”

“I know, but if it helps us get the drop of Mama Stump, then it's worth the risk.”

“Well, I can't let you go alone then. What kind of a story would it make if we told of how Princess Qualaji sat and waited while her comrade risked life and limb on a daring mission,” Quala grins, climbing down off of Kajilapa.

“Okay Kajilapa, if we aren't back within a day, I want you to leave, understood, go back to the camp. No heroics, you hear me.” she calls.

Kajilapa gives a sad moan, snout bumping against Quala's chest, the princess scratching at the small scales on the bridge.

Breaking away from her unhappy behemoth, Quala strides over, slapping me on the shoulder. “Let's go, Sief.”

I take a deep breath, shifting the scabbard of my sword at my belt. It will be all but useless against a giant, but it's a comfort to have it all the same. Thankfully, the murky skies above have made it dark and shadowy despite the sun still being high overhead, and we slip out from the archway to the cover of a nearby smaller building, most likely an abandoned barracks from the looks of it.

“Okay, looks like there's four buildings up here large enough to hold a giant. The main command building at the centre of the mesa, the artillery stations by the east and west walls, and the golem hanger just south of the western artillery station. There's watch towers along the wall too, if we could get up onto one of the ones that're still standing, we might have a better vantage point to look around,” I explain, Quala taking in my explanation silently.

“If I was going to guess on Mama Stump being anywhere, it would be that command building.”

“Most likely, the question is whether we want to go straight there or check out the rest of the mesa first to ensure we don't get blindsided by any unpleasant surprises.”

Did you pay attention to ANY of the political stuff Warlord went over?
>>
We slip from building to building, most of them holding little more than scattered bones, rusting weapons, and scattered personal effects. The rumble of distant thunder is the only sound I hear was we pick our way towards the watchtower.

Every step of the way I expect to be confronted by the lurking giants, erupting from some wall or hiding place to crush me, and from the tension in Quala's movements, I know she feels the same.

Fortunately, my fears prove to be just that, and we make it to the nearest undamaged tower without incident. I draw my sword as I step inside, while the giants couldn't fit within the confines of the tower, there could be other dangers lurking in the dusty corners of the ruins.

Quala steps in behind me as I scan the ground floor chamber, a winding staircase clinging to the walls of the tower disappearing up into the darkness. The ground floor holds a table with the crumbling remnants of some maps and plans upon it, chairs still sat around its edge, a rusting iron bed frame set up against one corner, the mattress long having festered away to nothing.

“It's dusty, I don't think anything's living in here,” Quala whispers, though she doesn't loosen her grip on the short curved blade in her hand, her bow slung over her back.

Since the only way to go seems to be up, I mount the stairs, Quala close behind. Every floor is much like the first, home to dust, death and little else. We reach the top of the stairs, the highest point of the watchtower, a horn rusting against one wall, the brazier of a signal fire tarnished by the elements.

Quala and I head over to the interior side of the roof, looking across the fort. The first thing I notice is the eastern artillery station. A large hole has been torn in the rooftop, exposing it to the elements, the stone around the hole looking jagged, as if clawed. If I had to guess, I'd say the wyvern is nesting there.

(cont)
>>
>>40804400
I turn my attention to the other buildings, the western artillery station looks untouched, indeed some of the artillery still sits on its roof, a little worn but still in one piece. It's old, but it's as formidable as ever, designed to take down behemoths, giants, and any other threat to the empire's dominance. While it wasn't enough to save the fort, it might still be useful.

The Golem Hanger is... strange, part of the roof is missing, looking as if it's been smashed from within, and from here I can see a mound of animal carcasses festering behind the building. As I squint into the gloom through the missing section of roof, I make out a momentary movement, pallid oily skin against the darkness.

I spend some time watching for the figure to return, but it doesn't, so I turn my attention next to the command building. There is definitely activity within, fires burning behind the barred windows, it sees a lot of use.

“You come up with a plan yet?” Quala asks, stood at the edge of the tower alongside me.

“Not yet.”

The princess nods, turning and walking away, I hear her footsteps stop at the far side of the tower, and hear an uncharacteristic gasp escape her. Concerned, I turn to look, hand on the hilt of my sword.

>>
>>40804425
Quala stands at the far wall of the watchtower roof, hands on the crenelations. I walk up alongside her, Quala's gaze fixed onto the land beneath, and as I look out, I can understand why.

We must be hundreds of feet up by now, and on the far side of the fort from the battlefield. Even with the grey skies above, the sight of the Iquani Expanse stretching out to the horizon beneath is incredible, winding rivers against the mixed yellows and greens of sandy earth and tough grasses, gazelle and zebras grazing, even a pair of wild behemoth plodding slowly, ponderously across the landscape.

“I wonder how many years it has been since someone stopped to appreciate this sight,” Quala smiles, eyes wide with a look of wonder I haven't seen from the princess before now.

“We shouldn't loiter.”

“I know, but... just a minute longer.”

I sigh, turning out to gaze across the landscape once more. Maybe it's because of all those hours spent in the oppressive darkness of the caverns, but standing up here with Quala gazing out across the world, I feel strangely content.

>>
>>40804571
I would like to know why the nobles wouldn't like it. Is it because less warmaking? or because Oh noes now they have nobles in our lands! or something else?
>>
>>40804623
Does Sief have a sex complex, or are we to roleplay that we don't?
>>
>>40804630
Personally, not for Loren, seems creepy to want to sleep with someone you knew when they were a young child. but that's just me. then again I may not be remembering the age difference correctly.
>>
>>40804577
>You fuckers always pull this shit, claiming the worst scenario will happen if we do A, B or C
Thing is if we do fuck her and she get's betrothed to another man? We are fucked. Hard. If we want to fuck her we better be willing to marry her.

Also Anosn want to fuck the amid and any other cute girl because anons are horny and don't realize the setting differences.

>>40804644
He does cause his father is a drunken horny rutting bastard. Read the quest.

>>40804623
Would it be enough to get investors because we have the initial start up in hand?

>>40804664
She's in her 30-40s and anons still want to fuck her cause CHRITMAS CAKE!
>>
>>40804632
Because they don't like the Iquani.
>>40804664
Loren has 15+ years on Sief.
And it's irrelevant what you want, you said "most people just want to fuck the princess", which is not true.
>>40804644
He does, it has been stated in character that he has a complex about sex, he doesn't want to think about such impure things because it reminds him of his father.
>>
>>40804630
was never for Loren, prefer delicious brown skin
>>
>>40804679
>Thing is if we do fuck her and she get's betrothed to another man?
To be fair, hymens can tear through horse riding, and Iquani seem to do a lot of horse riding.
>>
>>40804679
>>40804690
I'd like Warlord to answer the question, if he may.
>>
>>40804690
>40804664 (You)
Loren has 15+ years on Sief.
And it's irrelevant what you want, you said "most people just want to fuck the princess", which is not true.
You have the wrong anon. This one is merely not interested in Loren.
>>
>>40804644
Sief certainly does have some issues about it, they are not issues that are insurmountable provided he can separate the act from the bad opinion of it he got from the way his father carries on.

If people start voting for Sief to just try and fuck people out of the blue the outcome would be Sief freaking out before he could go through with it however.

>>40804679
>Would it be enough to get investors because we have the initial start up in hand?
Possibly, provided you could talk them into it.

>>40804679
>She's in her 30-40s and anons still want to fuck her cause CHRITMAS CAKE!
Loren is in her early thirties.
>>
>>40804693
>>40804664
I'm the opposite, we've repeatedly been told not to fuck the princess, doing it is blatantly retarded.
>>
>>40804728
Did you intend for him to have issues with intimacy? If so, why not just make this a smut free quest and quit advertising that there will be?
>>
>>40804741
fuck off
>>
>>40804754
Because I fully intend for him to overcome those issues during the course of the quest, and when that happens, I will write smut, because I enjoy writing smut.
>>
>>40804754
Because there are these things called personalities and character arcs.
Jesus Christ don't be such a whiny baby about not getting your precious smut.
There will eventually be smut, but this is NOT a smut quest, smut isn't the focus of it.
>>40804773
fuck off
>L-look mommy, I told him to f-fuck off!
>>
>>40804754
He started the character off that way and said this would be more about the golems and other shit than the sex. Stop being butthurt over the fact the character isn't man whore. We'll have to work for it and the smut will mean something.

>>40804741
Building the relationship is fine, but no sticking it in. Agreed.

>>40804773
Fucking her in the immediate future is retarded and you know it.
>>
>>40804741
While I'm all for the princess, I would prefer to avoid the associated problems with just having our way with her. Romance her, etc. Calling it blatantly retarded is overboard. unless we suddenly decide to have sex on the way back, and somehow get sief to go through with it.
>>
>>40804349
>Caused a shitstorm
Welp, this is the last time I pun.
>>
>>40804754
>>40804798
I'm not trying to come off as butthurt, I just see a lot of anons seemed against smut and there's a lot of bleed over from his other quests so I figured I'd suggest perhaps warning that there isn't smut? Chill man

To answer the question of smut in Golem Knight Quest clearly.

This quest was never intended to be anywhere near as smutty as my other two. That said, I do enjoy writing smut, and this quest does include love interests, some that you have already met, some that you have yet to meet. They are not intended to tease you with "cannot have", if you go about it the right way, you could end up with any of the women presented in this quest without triggering some looming bad end. Hell maybe with more than one if you are very smart in how you deal with them and with how you help Sief develop.

Sief dealing with his issues and growing as a person is a big part of this quest, and part of that will include him overcoming his issues with intimacy. When that happens, there will most likely be some smut, there will never be a large amount of smut, but it will be there.

I apologize if anyone came into this quest expecting more/less smut, but that's the level of smut I decided on when I was coming up with the concept, and that's the level I intend to keep.

>>
>>40804927
alright mate, thanks for clearing that up. I'll probably stick to Elshhu and Orc Warlord then, since I prefer their pace to this one
>>
>>40804927
The amount of smut is fine and since I read your posts I knew what was going on ahead of time. I like this quest, it's fun and no incessant waifuing, or must fuck x because I want.
>>
>>40805008
No worries anon, I know that none of my quests are for everyone.
>>
>>40805026
because must do x for treasure was any better
>>
>>40805040
Can only contain so much sperg from tg at a time. OWq has both though so yes it's better.
>>
I actively want us to fuck Quala BECAUSE of the consequences.
The SCANDAL, the SECRECY, the WORRY, I want it all!
>>
>>40805095
That's partly why I want to do it. I like doing shit like that. Anons are always trying to stay in their secure little bubble and hoard and skill grind to avoid conflict. Fuck that, dive head first into that shit
>>
>>40804927
Hope you feel better as well Lordy.
>>
>>40805089
>no incessant waifuing
just because there will be less smut doesn't mean there won't be incessant waifuing. Just give it time anon
>>
>>40805095
>>40805108
Thing is that could easily kill us off sine it'd be an entire nation. I'm fine with making out or heavy petting, but nothing penetrative, at least until we can drop a couple of Jotunn in a fight at once.
>>
>>40805116
Yeah, much better thanks, it wasn't anything serious.
>>
>>40805148
And? Anon, do you not understand about us wanting that risk factor? I want there to be the inherent risk of getting caught, I think that's fun. You clearly don't
>>
>>40805177
Lol we get hunted down and killed like a dog starting a civil war after everyone we know and love is slaughtered. At this point it'd be suicide. This isn't risk a risk is a 50 50 shot of dying this is pull the rigger on a fully loaded gun Russian roulette.
>>
>>40805236
Look it's actually pretty hard to get caught deflowering someone from a horse riding culture, we're actually not that likely to get caught unless we start up a serious romance where we're meeting up and fucking all the time.
>>
>>40805236
what this guy said
>>40805269
quit clucking chickenshit little
>>
So lordy is there any degree to which we could earn Iquani honor "on our terms" something LIKE cleaning up the battlefields, which would involving facing all kinds of ghosts and is clearly dangerous, would that provide it's own form of respect even if it isn't the "standard" respect of hunting down a monster?
>>
>>40805269
Unless she get's betrothed to another warrior and he finds out whoops she not a virgin like she's supposed to be. Also do you think the princess is the sort of girl who'd fuck just for the hell of it? Fucking her means a relationship, people with good instincts can figure shit out real fast.
>>
>>40805331
It would earn you a fair bit of goodwill, yes, but that wouldn't quite be the same as respect for glorious victories in battle.
>>
>>40805335
It means a relationship, but one we'd probably have to sustain on letterwriting and promises that we'd earn her hand. And I specified horseriding culture specifically because she almost certainly has already broken her hymen riding horses. And even if she hasn't unless she specifically wants revenge on us for some reason she'd likely explain that was how it broke rather than outing us.
>>
>>40805374
Yeah I realize it wouldn't be same, but could it get us princess marrying partial credit at least?
>>
>>40805380
Point is Sief isn't nearly ready, and it could go horribly wrong easier than you may think. You're assuming the princess and everyone else will act according to plan. Warlord doesn't have that happen often.
>>
>>40805404
It couldn't hurt provided you'd also done some proper glorious things.

So here's what I think Sief should aim for:

-Figure out who the man Momma', "who's the father 'round these parts," Stump answers who, this guy who told Stump to kill Sief's Mother.
-Figure out why this man wanted Sief's Mother dead
-Get more security on House Atanor's lands
-Develop House Atanor lands
-Get a better mechanic for Raziel
-Get a nice trade route going through House Atanor lands
-Woo the Princess
-Do something impressive so that we can marry the Princess.

Bam.
>>
>>40805424
See, I think we should start talking up the cleaning out the haunted places, because if necessary we can use it for cover travelling around to where we need to for any further revenge for Sief's mom, we can travel around our own country asking for support cleaning up the battlefield, putting the dead to rest, recovering family heirlooms, while also secretly pursuing whatever leads we may find.

Then when we're actually working on it we can always take breaks to get glory as opportunities come up, Ideally fighting alongside the prince we already met because if we want to impress her dad it certainly won't her to be getting talked up by her brother.
>>
>>40805424
Woo Loren.
Turn his father into a somewhat respectable man.
Git gud at golem'ing.
Find out more shit about his mother and that cuboid.
Find cool shit.
Also the better mechanic is already underway, maybe, don't wanna do anything about it if it turns out as some anons hoped it would.
>>
>>40805424

-Figure out who the man Momma', "who's the father 'round these parts," Stump answers who, this guy who told Stump to kill Sief's Mother.
soon

-Figure out why this man wanted Sief's Mother dead
will likely take doing

-Get more security on House Atanor's lands
need more money but yes we need this.

-Develop House Atanor lands
Need money for this too, maybe that valuable piece can be brought back for funds?

-Get a better mechanic for Raziel
Definitely but we nee money unless uncle comes through and even then.

-Get a nice trade route going through House Atanor lands
Should take priority once we get abck, give us a lot of clout and funding once done.

-Woo the Princess
working on it even now, sief just doesn't realize it.

-Do something impressive so that we can marry the Princess.
Hmm Need to find a couple Jotuns or grab a few buddies and off a Leviathan.

need to straighten dad out preferably by making him busy and making him care

Need to find out about that cube of Mom's too. probably important might even involve why she died.
>>
>>40805534
Oh and it will also probably earn us SOME renown in our own country which might shut people up a bit about us marrying one of those damn horsefuckers (i'm sure we call them horsefuckers, everyone with any connection to horses ALWAYS get called horsefuckers.) And also depending on what we find out about mom will give us an opportunity to discuss it with her family without it being intercepted when we travel there, if no one gets sent to help us. If someone DOES get sent to help us they'll probably have some way of communicating in code to back home so this will be slightly less necessary.
>>
Right then, since there seems to be no more questions, I'm going to go get some sleep.
