Tragically, you haven't made any progress on the revenge plot. Or any progress on the 'banish everyone's memories to the netherworld' plot.
You aren't actually certain that anything like a netherworld exists, but you assumed it'd be a safe bet that something in the same vein did.

Your access to it, and your ability to hurl people's memories into the void, however, are completely non-existent.

Which means that rolling into a town, however small, is a blessing.
With everyone too busy- outside of Nin, or course- you're left with little to do, and no-one to bother you.

So you're standing idly by in a town whose name you didn't bother to learn-
And it is a town. An actual town, with streets and buildings and way more people than Oakring. The kind where it takes you more than twenty minutes to walk all the way through. The possibilities are endless! There's so many things for you to waste time on here.

So long as you're back at the caravan by sundown. The inn is not, apparently, giant-spider-sized. Which you feel is unfair, but understandable.

>>
You wander away from the crowd of merchants and labourers- Already hawking their wares before their people have even pulled them from the wagons, wheeling and dealing as best they can. Some seem to be just purchasing, others trading- but no matter where you look, commerce has taken hold.

You mentally wish them luck before you clatter away, heading into the town proper.

Cobblestone isn't as nice to walk on as dirt for you- the way your legs terminate into points making the process just a little more annoying. You've gotten used to it, though. Walking is walking. And balance is an issue for non-spiders, in your opinion.

The constant staring, especially as you get further from the forest, though- That's a bit more difficult to adjust to.

Children staring open-mouthed as you wander through town, standing stock-still and slowly tuning to follow you with their eyes.
Adults acting like children- right down to people hiding within their own homes, eyes barely above their windowsills, peering after you.
The sooner you get to somewhere where monsters aren't strange, the better.

With asking for directions being largely out of the question, your search for a guild building becomes more of a tour.
You take the streets one by one, admiring sturdy looking stone building, entirely too small fountains, the occasional garden- The whole place looks like someone really tried to mimic a city, but didn't quite get the scale right.
Or maybe your sense of scale is just skewed, now? You don't think so, but it's possible...

You leave the quandary aside as you pull up in front of a decently sized building.
The doorway is kind of... modest, really. Oakring's guild doubled as a bar, living space and all that, so it made sense to have the double doors.
And while this one seems to be a size that suggests it has the same sort of facilities available- The door is rather lacklustre.
>>
>>40800881
Its very unlikely there are any in the area. But we SHOULD ask the local guild for a bestiarum.
>>
>>40800900
Also, singular.

As in, you are not getting inside.

You fold your arms and huff, scowling at the offending wood for a minute before you opt to circle the place- No ground floor windows, wood and stone. Logs, really. Now that you're paying attention, it seems to be a rather haphazard building. Like it was built fast. Maybe recently?
You assumed villages and towns and the like would start with a guild.

Now that you think about it, adventurers wouldn't show up if there wasn't work, would they? So, logically, there wouldn't be guilds unless they were needed. And if a village needs one fast-

Well, that's a bit ominous.

Your circuit brings you around the rear of the place- revealing another note of its apparent rushed construction, though this one in your favour.
There's a few sandy circles, training areas, complete with dummies available back here.
Noone practicing to speak of, though.

>>
>>40801092
Oh please. You know bursting through the wall and happily yelling "I'm a giant spider!" sounds like the most fun.
>>
>>40801244
With earth magic the same way we put the hole there to begin with.
>>
>>40801244
>every building collapses instantly when there is a hole in the wall
Wow, they must have some pretty shitty architects where you come from.
>>
>>40801244
Except, you know, we have both?
Earth magic?
>>
>>40801264
And how does that work on masonry composed of stacked blocks? Because I'm pretty sure the whole buildimg wasn't constructed Wall of Stone-style. And the non-stone materials: Studs, floor joists, flooring, assuming it isn't dirt, etc.
>>
>>40801290
A giant spider sized hole? in a shoddily made building? You better believe it'd collapse.
>>
>>40801264
The hole in the hastily constructed building made primarily out of logs?
>>
>>40801260
Fun, yeah, but also vandalism and probably getting an already evidenced to be on-edge populace on our backs.
>>
>>40801314
Again, earth magic.
We made a fairly extensive underground room just using earth magic to do all these things.
You better believe we can use earth magic to keep the walls standing if we make a hole into them with magic.

>>
>>40801400
Doing stupid shit is par for the course.
>>
>>40801403
>Also do you really want to exhaust Lyra when we might need her strength for squirrely shit soon?
First of all it wouldn't exhaust her at all, its not detail work and Lyra can raise a wall around a entire village without seriours strain.
Second, I never suggested we actually bust through the wall, I just pointed out to Lotus that he's a retard when he thinks busting through the roof of the building(that we don't even know if it can bear our weight) is somehow better than walking through the wall.
Upon which he became butthurt and treid to pretend he know shit about buildings.
>>
>>40801433
Lyra is not actually a year old.
>>
>>40801452
You realize that if it couldn't bear our weight, it likely wouldn't be able to bear its own, and thus a giant hole would make the thing collapse anyway.

Besides, it's probably made of dry stones and log. Meaning you could probably at most effect one stone at a time, and not the logs at all. Besides which, what, are you going to stand around chanting and raising a support joist for the wall while you actually start trying to break it away? Why do you think earth magic would even work on a building made of more than one material?
>>
>>40801778
>You realize that if it couldn't bear our weight, it likely wouldn't be able to bear its own, and thus a giant hole would make the thing collapse anyway.
Magic.
Much less of which would be necessary to take over whatever amount of loadbearing that segment of wall would normally fill, than to keep the entire building standing under our weight.

Also
> if it couldn't bear our weight, it likely wouldn't be able to bear its own
Is not only wrong, but also completly hilariously wrong.

Anyways, can we just climb up a bit and stick our head in a window?
>>
>>40801891
Bit late for that to be an option, but yes, we could walk up the side of a building like our namesake and stick our head into someones bedroom.
>>
>>40801891
No because that would add a shitton of weight to a more than likely unbalanced hastily built wall which is a VERY bad thing
>>
>>40801891

>>
>>40801918
If this building is really as shoddily built as everyone assumes, I don't think it would be a good idea to try to see if those walls can carry all that spider.

Otherwise, why didn't we just shout for someone?

>>
This is going to bother you unless you do something about it, isn't it?

That was a rhetorical question.
To yourself.

You shake your head a little and sigh, glancing longingly at the training grounds.
Maybe you'll have time when it's all said and done.

And maybe you won't see another till you hit the city.

You take a breath to brush off your concerns.

And then you start looking for doors.

You end up circling the building again, realizing just how rushed the whole thing truly is- there isn't even access to the grounds short of leaving the front and walking around. That seems... well, concerning.

Your knuckles clatter across the door's surface, the sharp rap of chitin on wood ringing out.

There's no immediate answer.
But really, the guild isn't the sort of place one knocks, under any normal circumstances. It's just that, in your circumstance, it's this or punching a whole in the wall. So you wait, then knock again.

This time you hear some short grumbling, the creak of the door starting to open- And then it catches, jamming in the corning, and the grumbling turns to swearing as whoever is sitting at the other side starts to kick it door in some cross between an attempt to open it, and an attempt to destroy it.

It's a balding older man who pries it open finally, his head gleaming in the sun, a moustache that looks as though it may well be concealing a wild animal keeping most of his face's real estate.

He glances from your legs to your arms, then your face. He stands there, chewing something slowly, before he finally opens his mouth to talk.
"Can I help you, uh, miss?"

Especially since basically everywhere else would have such serious problems serving someone of her appetite, that she would have to hunt the meat most likely herself anyway.

What we should do is looking for somewhere to restock our spices.

For the company, not the food.
I don't go to a party of celebration for the food, but for the people there.

I'm not. I was answering anons question on if Lyra had feasts before.

Thats it.

There is no particular advanatge to making a feast we didn't hunt over one we did hunt, since it comes down to the same thing only we saved money and trouble.

The entire original question line was>Have we been to feasts?>Yes.>It would be nice if someone else cooks for us.>Not particularly different from us cooking our own feast.
From which then salty anons jumped around talking about social scenes which is completly besides the original point of the making of the food and if someone else doing it for us would make it somehow better.
Which it wouldn't.

Going to a party isn't so you can get stuffed by other people, and I'm seriously baffled by all the anons that seem to think it is. Its about meeting new people, a completly different issue unrelated to the originalm discussion that gfot shoehorned in because they kept trying to argue for arguings sake.

What does 'real live feast' even mean? When that bit was first responsed to with the 'Lyra has feasts basically all the time' bit, the response was ' it would sure be nice if someone else cooked for us'.

In which case, Lyra can satisfy that by just going to the inn or such later and ordering up some food for her and her friends. Similar to what we did at the inn in Oakring. Personally, I kinda assume that it's a given we'll be doing that at some point.

Your mouth is faster than your brain by a long shot.
Which is saying something, especially with how your brain is so very fond of sabotaging you by hurtling down starnge trails and focusing on minute details of things, then extrapolating to something absurd.

Which is strange, because you don't really remember being like that before. Is it a kid thing, or an arachne thing, or a you thing?
Wait, where were you again?
Oh, yes.

"Your door is too small, yes."

It's out and into the air before you can even register saying it.

You can already feel the blush creeping across your face as the man raises one bushy eyebrow, looking to each side of the door frame before he shakes his head.
"Nah, seems fine to me. You didn't really bang on the door to complain about it, right?"

"I- No. No. I mean- I thought about just making a new door, yes? Or at least a second one that leads to the training grounds. The building is very shoddy. Wait."

You snap your head side to side, a few locks of hair freeing themselves from your ears and flying around as you attempt to physically repress your brain from spilling out of your mouth.

"Okay. Hello, yes? My name is Lyra."
"Jake."
"Nice to meet you."
"Likewise. Is that a necklace, or..."

"My friends believe that I am some sort of cross between a horse, a house and a bed."
"Ah. That'd be a person, then."
"There are more behind me, as well."
"And not standing."
"Not even conscious."

He snorts, the moustache spreading a little, rustling as he does.
"Sounds like you've got it rough, yeah."
"Mm."

Ah, you're probably right. Looking back, the opening post described this town as small, so I guess I got ahead of myself in assuming that this is 'the city'.

>>40804014
>No, I'm pretty sure we only seperate in the city.
Yeah, I jumped the gun there. My bad. And yeah, the guild folks probably eat and drink at the guild, assuming that it does have the appropriate facilities (as its size suggests it does). I wasn't trying to be particular over the location, I was just used to how Oakring's guild hall was also its only inn, so both terms worked for it.

As for the supplies, are you referring to thread 17 when Lyra and Jin ate at the inn? I didn't see mention of them running low on supplies then, though Lyra did think that they probably wouldn't have enough to feed a family of arachne. That's not the only time she's been a patron there, though, or maybe I just missed something.

>Winter-time, stoke our heat, stroke the snake close to orgasm, then rapidly drop our heat so she is confronted with the cold. Instant cum-kill.
>Spin a small bit of silk, let it dry out, insert into snake, wait a day, take out silk-dildo, add some more to it, re-insert plug. Repeat until snake comes just from moving with the dildo inside her.
>Make snake 'armor' which prevents her from masturbating. Use earth magic to form a dildo when you want to 'play'.
>Hell, just encase the snake in an earthen iron maiden sans spikes. Use your magic to poke and prod the snake, sinking hard rock into her special places. Leave the tip of her tail and her face open so you can see her tail twitch and her face heat up.
>Make an actual bracelet/necklace out of earth, hold snake onto the jewellery TIGHTLY (to prevent wriggling) with earth magic contortions (make sure to cover her bodywith a permeable membrane), hand out to the rest of the companions to admire and stroke over how beautiful Lyra can make stuff.
The lewd train ain't going to stop no time soon, my brothers and sisters, hell, it might even be what sages the thread!

1) Do not speak IT'S name lest you attract it's attention.
2) Do you really think IT would take such a shallow step into the magical realm? NO! IT would go straight to the gore, vore, torture, and bodily functions.
>>
>>40804920

IT or something equally bad is already infesting this thread. This (>>40804512) while scintillating, doesn't really have a place here. I know the plot's moving slow, but they're still basically children.

Fair does.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like we'll get a final update this thread. I blame myself and that shitstorm a while back.

Something. There was something, wasn't there?
The building? The building. Yes. It's garbage, isn't it? You were thinking something about how the building was very shoddy and then... What was past that?

Oh. Now you remember.

"Ah!"
"Ah?"
"Do you have any problems?"
"My back bothers me in the mornings. Or when there's storms, sometimes."

You blink.

"That is- That is not the kind of problems I was asking about, yes."
"Well, you gotta start with the little ones."
"I am an adventurer, yes? I was asking more about the kinds of problems that would cause someone to rush building a guildhall in a small town."
"Oh. That."

You nod.
"Yes, that."
"Already fixed that one."
"Oh. Really?"
"Yup. That's why I'm the only one here."

You try very hard not to look disappointed.
"Are there... are there any more problems, then?"
"My work is unappreciated?"
"I don't think I can fix that."
"Figures."

You gesture back to the building.
"Er- What If I fixed up the building? Made a better door. More doors. Doorways."
"I prefer houses to webs, if it's all the same."
"I have magic, yes? Stone."
"Oh. Maybe. Can you start by opening this one up, then?"
>>
>>40805306

The power comes to you easily enough, but you pause before you start rearranging thw world at your own leisure.
"What was the problem, anyway?"
"Uh? Oh. Gryphon. Just migrating, anyway. By the time this was all set up, it had moved, and we couldn't find it. So now I'm stuck manning this outpost, with a few hanger-ons in the village."
"Ah."
"That sounded like a very specific type of 'Ah'."

"I may have eaten your problem."
"You ate it."
"Not- Not alone, yes? It was too big for that."
"You ate a gryphon."
"I was hunting."
"You hunted a gryphon."
"It was an accident!"

He lifts an eyebrow.
"An accident?"
"It was... sort of an accident."
"Mhm."
"I didn't know it was a gryphon."
"Sure."

You sigh.

We should ask if there is a bathhouse in town. If there is, see if they would pay for improvements.
If there is now see if a businessman or the guild would sponsor the construction of one. Not sure we have enough time in town to do much work though.

Captcha, we have very different opinions of what counts as food.
