So to recap:
>The sisters of battle, The Order of the Pointed Word, were acquired by a space marine chapter.
>They decended from the Order of the Sacred Oath, a dialoguous order, but are now militant.
>Like to go fast, like fire, and like the ocean and their hives.
> hates psychers and heretics
>The marines are White Scars decendents, and are really pure
>Like to go fast, like robotics.
>numbers always fluctuating

>Sisters have a greecian ascetic, while the marines have a turkish, mamaluk ascetic.
>>
Copypastaing first piece of recap, boy do we need it expanded:

>Ecclesiarchy loses an order of Sisters to a Chapter Master
>Order descends from the Order of the Sacred Oath, a Dialogous Order, yet became Militant
>Founded by prognostication
>Specialize in fast attack and orbital insertion, and never give up on it.
>Live in oceanic hives
>Generally subservient to their new Astartes owners despite outnumbering them. However, some people seriously want some of the higher-ranking sisters to be equals with the Marines. Maybe have the Canoness be part of the Chapter Council?
>Prefer faith over cybernetics in stark contrast to their Astartes owners.
>Have some rare flamer/melta weapons they use more than any other order.
>Uses hoverboard skimmers
>Friendly with IG, Administratum, and AdMech
>Hate witches and heretics

>Chapter similarly prognosticated to be placed here
>Founded during M39
>White Scars successors
>High purity, yet paradoxical preference to machinery. Also follow the tried-and-true speedy fighting
>Marines have a strange fluctuation of numbers. Perhaps a really high attrition rate?
>Apparently still friends with Ecclesiarchy despite winning some sisters from them. Also friends with Astropaths.

Still uncertain about lewdness of this design

Also, the marines hate Chaos and Eldar. Apparently the world was once an Eldar Paradise world before it got all CHAOS up in heeuh.

The Chaos got booted out, the Eldar occasionally try to revert it back from the desert wasteland to a lusher forest.
>>
>>40808631
>The planet is a barren desert and sprawling ocean
> the sisters and oceanic inhabitants call the planet Dulichium
>Astartes and the desert folk call it Dar-al-Rashid
>The Ad-mech don't give a shit and just want to build cool ships in peace
>>
>>40808688
All three factions, Imperial, Chaos, and Eldar, view the planet as theirs by ancient right (though the Imperium also has good old right of conquest going for it).
>>
someone who knows how should screen cap the writefaggotry from the previous thread.
>>
>>40808780
Also, the Sisters are something like Byzantines and Cretan cosmopolitan islanders, in aesthetic. THAT sort of Greek.
>>
>>40808841
I'm going to put it on a google docs and upload it, dun you worry.

Unless there's a better place to put text
>>
>>40808976
I'm sure it would be okay for the guy whose currently writing.
>>
>>40809046
Haha I am the writer, I mean so that people can catch up with the story.
>>
>>40808688
Whats the emblem of the chapter?
>>
>>40809125
Thoughts were on an arabic like word for emperor or something.
>>
>>40809125
Methinks we need three emblems for this:

One for the Mamuluks, containing the Arabic word for the God-Emperor.

One for the Sisters of the Pointed Voice, Perhaps a skull with a sword for a tongue.

And one for their union, combining aspects of the two.
>>
>>40809205
Sounds nice. Of course most people won't be seeing the third. because that doesn't conform to the codex astartes.
>>
>>40808688
Can we get one of these going for the Sisters?

The color schemes are deep ocean blue for the armor, black for the robes,

The helmet has ribbed fish fins on it, the armor surface is done as wide fish scales.
>>
>'Malik' (master, leader, and ruler) is a good word for the Emperor as the Mad Mamluks see him. Or so it seems to me. And the calligraphy ملك is nice and compact so it could be worked into a pauldron or a purity seal or something.
>Google translate gives me this.

>إله الإمبراطور

>Babylon Translations gives me this.

>إن شاء الله الامبراطور

>God-Emporer would be Ilah-Imberatoor
>>
>>40809125
I'm thinking back-to-back dusty looking lightning bolts on a dark green background.
>>
>>40809205
الإمبراطور الله

Emperor-God/God-Emperor in Arabic.
>>
>>40808780
Do we want to elaborate on the local guard units that were mentioned in the last thread?
>>
>>40809404
Sure, why not?
>>
>>40809446
I'll give a summary (writefag here), but I'm in a CSGO game right now
>>
>>40809466
Not the writefag, but so far I'm sort of thinking of a helmet with maybe Corinthian style plumes and the armor being painted bronze.
>>
>>40809497
For the islanders, yes. Would the guard be as split among the desert and islanders, or just mainly islands?
>>
>>40809570
Considering how the people in the desert seem relatively isolationist outside of the Space Marines and that the population of the islanders is far higher, they would probably be just islanders.

Now, before I do any tampering...

This an acceptable color?
The ChapterGenerator program I relied on for marines has no sisters function, so no fancier details. Might take me till tomorrow to do all the scalies.
>>
>>40809630
no its very good.
>>
>>40809630
Looks good. Maybe a lighter color that would blend more with sand on the cloth however?
>>
>>40809230
Aren't these Marines Codex divergent?
>>
>>40809709
They uphold the codex to the letter. And nothing more. The codex doesn't say you can't have administrative control over an order of sisters, and that your chapter serfs can't become lord generals of the imperial guard.
No sir, they obey the Codex completely.
>>
>>40809630
Good. Can you add a shawl or cloth around the throat?

>>40809709
Technically not. In practice...
>>
>>40809570
Are we going for more of a Hellenic theme with the guard or are we going to make them more Byzantine like the Sisters?
>>
>>40809775
Ah, so nothing that is a blatant breakage with the codex, got it.

okay CS:GO session done, let's rollrollrollroll

So there are two main branches of the planetary military, a locally grown IG Regiment, and the PDF.

IG: Dulichium Hoplites
>Surfs up dude, these guys are from the beaches
>Names and nuances are pulled from Greek culture
>Not your typically shitty IG Regiment
>Cross trains with Sororitas and is used as their personal battle bros for messy ops
>Their armor isn't all clunky, it's streamlined and rounded "like smooth beach glass"
>All helmets have personal short range voxes and the foot soldiers have other small tech advantages as well
>Specializes in urban warfare, territory control, civilian relations. They are an occupying and general ground invasion force, filling in the weak points of the blitz tactics of the Sisters/Marines
>Has a distaste for lasweapons, uses stubbers and autoguns provided by the friendly local Mechanicus (all the fancy las stuff gets put into the space foundry)
>Very NCO-centric command structure, unorthodox comradery between officers and enlisted, at a command level squads are very resourceful and independent
>Flavorwise, a bit of US Marines in SPAAAACE
>no they're not called "soldiers," it's "troopers"
>almost Brother-Sister relationship between them and Sororitas

Desert Dudes next
>>
>>40809814
Due to a reliance on stubbers and what seems to be more defensively oriented weaponry, I assume these guys are going to be very fortification oriented?
>>
>>40809814
How mechanized are they?
>>
>>40809856
Limited by lines of supply and having ammunition around certainly, but I guess their operations are mostly limited to the relatively small coastal and island areas.
>>
>>40809856
The idea is that with the Astartes and Sisters being so blitz oriented, yes these guys would be the "hold newly capture territory" guys, and to prevent destabilization after the power vacuums caused by the lighting tactics.

>>40809885
I would say fairly, they use Chimeras and have rocket weapons at squad levels, and have an elite, but very small, airforce. Air superiority isn't their strength due to local Mechanicus forces and Astartes support.

>>40809915
They operate as strike teams, and I would imagine that since they operate with fleet borne Astartes they would utilize drop pods full of ammo for resupply if they really had to. But yes, the bullets can become an issue. Too bad their stubbornness for bullets is even more of an issue.
>>
>>40809915
What I meant was that they aren't exactly carrying around weapons that seem light to used very offensively by normal humans.
>>
>>40809955
So is this planet going to be the kind of planet that sends out a lot of guardsmen across the galaxy or only has one or two mostly local regiments?
>>
>>40810000
Mostly local, relatively few in number but well-equipped and with Chaos and Eldar coming to the planet regularly they've got their hands pretty full.
>>
>>40809814
It should be mentioned that those who call the planet Dulichium have a grudge for the Astartes, as they feel the Space Marines have moved in on their turf, and have chosen to become cosy with the Kebabs instead of

PDF: Samiel Militia
>Desert dwellers, speaks a planetary dialect based on Turkish/Arabic
>Dress in loose garbs with clothes wrapped around their faces
>Considered "kebab" by beach dwellers
>Use hand-me-downs from IG (like all true PDF forces), typically old bolters, "gently used" flak armor, and whatever they can get from the Astartes who seem to like them alot
>Does not have any stigmas about weapons type, as such they have sparse lasweapon stores, their only problem is getting those lasweapons
>Tribal in nature, they have a strong loyalty to the physical ground they occupy
>Command structure centers around "heroes" or "really old dudes" with the occassional Imam or Holy Man leading the charge
>Tend more towards swarm/wave tactics, but are expert amushers and have a superb lay of the land
>Have at least +20% sand resist (OP nerf next edition!)
>Really kick ass dune buggies, by the way
>Malik Akbar!

So when it comes down to the two factions, watch the intro chapter to Metal Gear Solid 4, that's how a pitched battle would feel between the two factions, even down to aesthetics.
>>
>>40810058
I see we are keeping with the Mad Max theme.
>>
>>40810058
The Sisters stances on that issue are varied and factionalizing, it should be said.
>>
>>40810000
One or two mostly local residents. It should be noted that these are used almost exclusively by the resident Sororitas/Astartes forces

HOWEVER they do maintain a certain level of independence from anyone, even the higher IG command structure, to quote last thread

>Or they drag locally raised Imperial Guard auxiliary regiments with them.

>They totally don't come under the command of the Chapter or the Sisterhood.

>Absolutely not. They ultimately come under the command and responsibility of the planetary governor. That would be the Chapter Master/Chapter Council.

>As this is against the Codex Astartes to a degree that even the Mad Mamlukes can't misinterpret it they hand it over to their viceroy who usually runs the day to day, hum drum boring shit of the planet. Turns out that this is actually the High Abbatissa. Well, shit. They can't have that without breaking the Decree Passive or dropping 70%+ of their fighting force.

>So it is handed over to a Lord/Lady-General who isn't actually a sworn man or woman of the cloth. This invariably fall to someone who is a specially trained son or daughter of a woman of the cloth or on one occasion a retired chapter serf released from his vows.

>They then merely take good advice from the Chapter and Sisterhood.

>And its that Lord/Lady-general who ends up organizing the holding and cleaning of territory.

>assuming they can't palm the job off to some off-worlder regiment. They would much rather do that as the Inquisition starts to get nervous when Astartes and Sororitas start looking for legal loopholes.

And since some off world regiment isn't controlling them (Astartes aint gon allow dat!) they basically command themselves since the back and forth jockeying of the Astartes/Sororitas cancels itself out, leaving the military some level of autonomy. However it should be noted that the IG is cozy with the Sororitas, the PDF with the Astartes
>>
>>40808688
The turban he's wearing is all wrong. I mean, drawing wise. Turbans is right but the one you drew looks more like a Sikh turban to me.

Also, though it may be counter intuitive I kinda want to see a full face wrap on a space marine. I can't find a good example pic but the kind you find on some pictures of Saracens or other Arab warriors. I guess the Haradrim in the LotR movies also had pretty good examples.

Or like in the OP pic.
>>
>So to expand on the sisters, so far we've been treating them as a single organization that basically all have the same outlook. I think we should add a few internal factions, and have some proposals.

>The Equalists: Basically want full equality between the sisters and the Mamluks, although some would prefer to see them gone entirely. Generally considered a radical minority (and the hardliners are considered lunatics/traitors), their exact numbers are unknown, but are definitely more prevalent among the older and higher ranking sisters. Distrusted by the Moderates, and considered borderline (or not so borderline) traitors by the loyalists. There is at least one high ranking sister who is seriously embittered and may go full traitor in her efforts at reform.

>The Moderates: More or less want the status quo, believe that the push and pull between the Marines and the Sisters is beneficial, but seriously trying to undermine the Marines is verboten. Substantial majority in the upper ranks, smaller but still large majority among the younger sisters. Considered spineless yes women by the Equalists, and somewhat uppity by the Loyalists.

>The Loyalists: Believe that the tarrot game was an expression of the Emperor's will, and thus it is the duty of the order to serve the marines. Tend to support the Marine's political power at the expense of the order, and some bleed over into outright worship. More common in the younger ranks, but have a few adherents in command positions. Considered misguided by many moderates (though plenty have sympathy for the tarot part of their beliefs), and sluts by the Equalists.
>>
>Among the Equalists, I'm guessing the ones who want the Marines gone entirely would be another faction if they could help it, and so are more closeted about it.
>The Equalists basically have to be discreet and not air their views too publicly. If they do start mouthing off in public, they tend to face an internal order disciplinary hearing. The Equalists usually do some relatively minor penance for the first offense. The Separatists get summery execution for inciting rebellion. The Marines know they exist, but are basically content to let their political power wane as the last remnants of the pre-bet generation die off and those they trained retire rather than cracking down and inspiring more replacements. Not to say that they don't have new recruits, but the Loyalists will probably outnumber them in the upper ranks in 50 years to a century. Unless something changes of course.

>I'm seeing the Sisterhood as having expand and branched out. It is primarily, and on the ecclesiarchy records, a militant order but that seems like a designation given for legal reasons.

>They also run hospitals, orphanages, educational institutions as well as about half the religious establishments. This came about when they realized that way more girls were wanting to serve the Emperor and His Imperium than they had suits of powered armour for. Also most of them would have been awful warriors. But they had other talents and aptitudes that could be of use.

>The High Abbatissa is, and always will be, picked from the militant convents. Although the non-combatants now outnumber the combatants they were just an add-on to a much older order of warrior order. If they object and chafe under this arrangement then they can fuck off and start their own little order. Some even have done.

>This is probably not something the main body of the Ecclesiarchy would approve of but the legal exemptions granted to them from having their HQ on a space marine homeworld are proving useful.
>>
Is there any way we can integrate the recruitment methods of real life mamluks into the Mad Mamluks? Current fluff has the sisters trying a eugenics program, making the Sororitas and the Chapter related through blood, but real life mamluks were recruited by muslim rulers from christian populations. That doesn't really jive with a eugenics program, since it would mean the sororitas have very limited influence on which young men get into the chapter.

Perhaps it might be better to tone the relationship down, and instead have the sisters be VERY influential on marines before being recruited, but much less so after a Mamluk drags them off and teaches them how to hold a bolter steady. A marine might remember standing before a sister, reciting litanies in high gothic and little childrens rhymes in their youth, even when they tower over those same sisters as full fledged battle brothers.
>>
>>40810432
Maybe they would be from the coastal regions that currently have a Hellenic culture, but are basically taken and converted to the version of the imperial creed the Desert people have?
>>
>>40808841

Would their chapter master be Saladin?
>>
>>40810432
Isn't that what we already have, plus the eugenics? Remember also that the mamluks formed their own class and families.
>>
>>40810701
We really need to spend more time elaborating on the great heroes of the chapter don't we?
>>
>>40810774
Both Astartes and Sororitas, to be honest.
>>
>>40810795
Great hero Saladin the Renewer, who brought the mad Mamuluks to rest. Before him, they were nomads, lost in the vastness of the imperium. Saladin broke a mighty chaos seige, and in return was gifted the planet he had just saved.
I imagine all CMs are Saladin with different honorifics.
>>
>>40810844
The siege was slowly grinding the planet to a pulp, but through strikes that were lighting like in both speed and precision, he turned the tide, allowing the local forces to turn the tides. Cutting off the chaos retreat, he laid waste to all the foes of the Emperor.
>>
>>40810902
yup. that's pretty much how I see it. But what about the sisters? I imagine it would be the first abbess to turn the sisters into a militant force.

We can't forget about the captain of their first biker company aptly named Max can we?

Also remember the poker/gamble that got the Sisters where they are.
Maybe, the siege on Chaos was done jointly by the Marines and Sisters, and there was some administratum mix-up that gives both the Sisters and the Marines ownership of the planet. So the Abbess of the time and the Chapter Master of the time sat down to 'negotiate'... through a deck of Imperial Tarot.

Ladies and gentlemen, here is my work from the prior thread. Enjoy the read.
>>
How often do the Marines and sisters get jiggy with each other?

Are we talking relationships, strictly business or purely a religious observance?
>>
>>40811870
I would think that something akin to strictly business would be the baseline with some amount of variation towards talking relationship.
>>
>>40811870
Yes.

More seriously, a mix of 1 and 3. Depends on faction too, I think.
>>
>>40811996
Yeah the loyalists probably view it as some combination of the three with an emphasis on religious duty.
>>
>>40811996
So does that mean if you have a disagreement with a Sororita or a Mamluk there's a chance they have a partner that will help them gang up on you whether it involves a discussion or violence?
>>
>>40812153
Well how else are they going to keep all of these wildly different factions of sisters fro m slaughtering each other if not the threat of Marine intervention?
>>
>>40812153
There's another question I wanted to ask. Do children who are born of these unions know who their parents are or is it a communal thing?
>>
>>40812237
I guess it would depend on whether it was the sisters or the marines who rose the child with the sisters being more communal and the marines being more focused on something like bloodlines. Speaking of questions, we have been focusing a lot on the sister's internal factions, but what about the marines. I'm pretty sure that they probably vary greatly on how they view the sisters and the islanders in general, as anything from our equal allies, to the lesser ones in this partnership, to a corrupting influence on desert dweller culture.
>>
>>40812355
Yeah, that sounds like the kind of opinions the marines would form considering their history.
I also just had the Daaw worthy thought of a space marine holding their kid and treating them like glass in worry of hurting them.
>>
>>40812531
I just had a thought, I wonder what they're attitude would be towards normal humans. Like how the marines malevolent have a Napoleon complex or the Salamander's feel that their primary duty is saving lives.
Just had a captcha where literally everything was a sandwhich
>>
>>40812626
I would like to think that no matter the disagreements between the different inhabitants of the planet they would be able to put aside their differences as children of Malik and tell the pointy eared and otherwise bastards to get off their lawn.
>>
>>40812653
Agreed, but I meant more about how much they lord themselves over them.
What is it with captcha and claiming things are streetsigns that aren't really streetsigns
>>
>>40812697
I think that if they were born on the planet they are treated quite well, but off-worlders aren't really looked on fondly.
>>
>>40812153
Oh my boyfriend's back and you're gonna get purged...~
>>
>>40812736
After all each marine is parceled a piece of land to manage and recruit from so they probably care about what happens to their subjects.
>>
>>40812736
But what about the islanders, we have already established that they have a completely seperate cultures with different values?
>>
>>40812772
Kinda like that but more like the Marine holds you down while the Sororita curbstomps you.
>>
>>40812772
It works both ways, I mean think about it. There's this one guy in a bar muttering about savage desert marines and suddenly hes a pile of ash with a very pissed off sister nearby.
>>
>>40812803
Lel
>>
>>40812784
They'd probably treat it like their neighbor's sheep escaping their pen. They really don't like these beach scrubs messing up the desert dwellers bloodlines or getting nagged at for letting them die in the desert.
>>
>>40812816
Tha fuck do you mean its my fault for dying of thirst Bruh?

>>
>>40808475
Are we Mad Mamaluks?

I saw Sword Sons and Dune Walkers, those sem like cool names
>>
>>40812889
Mad Mamluks, Mainly because we need to ride the Mad Max hype train on the way plus, they are the descendents of the White khans and have a focus on bikes.
>>
>>40812886
Which is why you do not belong here, so it is best if you return to your side of the planet before you manage to kill yourself.
>>
>>40812922
And back out of that line of thought, yeah i'm guessing there would be not necessarily hostile views on the islanders I can see them preferring to use Desert PDF rather than the islander guard regiments.
>>
>>40812911
And so we are their more Turkic descendants.

A little.

The wastelanders make better PDF than their tribal fractiousness and lack of large scale discipline would suggest because of their ability to lure people out into the desert that they call home and every one else calls death. Tends not to export well out of that environment.

Also the supercontinent is the size of Asia and Africa combined. There is room for many desert cultures.
>>
>>40813850
I can only imagine how violent disputes over oasis' get on this planet.
>>
>>40813897

Pretty fucking intense. The marines personally own all the best ones, each brother essentially being the chief of the tribe that calls it home.

There are more damp patches in the desert than there are brothers and holy fuck do people fight over the remainder.
>>
>>40813916
You think there's some kind of civility in the violence if it can even be called civil, or are they at the level of tearing each other's jugulars out with their teeth?
>>
>>40814038
Depends on which tribes are fighting.

Some might have rules of engagement, some might not.
>>
>>40811022
Maybe he'd gotten stuck in the desert with some Battles Sisters, and helped convert a tribe of engine-worshiping nomads to the God-Emperor. He'd also have a sort of affinity for scavenging, being able to survive in the desert and all.

bump
>>
I am heading to bed, but someone place this up on 1d4chan later on. I want to see where this is going.

>>40814097
I would just have the tribe basically styled mad max style
>>
>>40814160
Well, that was what I was thinking of. Speaking of which, do these guys even have bikes? The desert doesn't exactly offer a lot of traction. And what tactics and strategies do these guys use?
>>
>>40814248
Jetbikes.
>>
>>40809814
So, uh, do these guys have the equivalent of William "Bill" Killgore? They are surfers, after all. Not saying I want a Vietnamized regiment, I'm just asking if there's one.
>>
>>40814268
That...would be nice and fitting. You could also mix the Priest into it, y'know? A warrior-priest searching in the wastes for something, anything that could reaffirm his faith in the Emperor. But with Mad Max. And sexy Battle Sisters. And desert vampires!
>>
>>40814312
The desert vampires are the remnants of the humans that once dwelt there in the days of the Eldar Empire. They lived alongside the elder although knowlage of the exact relationship is long since lost.

They lived in caves and came out only at night. Thousands of years and possibly some subtle ye olde genetic modifications later and you have Nightsiders.

Not very numerous.
>>
>>40814491
Can we not have desert vampires? That just sounds unnecessary.
>>
>>40814523
Well just change the fluff a bit that they just drain all the liqueds out of people like in Dune.

They can be like the night stalkers from gaunts ghosts in wanting to be independant from the imperium
>>
>>40814549
It's the idea itself that's the problem. The desert is deadly enough as it is, and even if they were to exist they would have all been killed either by the chaos invasion or the constant elder incursions.
>>
>>40814523
>>40814312 here, I agree with you. I realize my error. The Eldar would fit well, actually. Though I'm not sure what kind of influences these guys have. I think there should be a large vigilante gang in the Hive Worlds that constantly take the Long Walk to rid the desert of Eldar, their horses kicking the dust up into a storm with a flurry of hooves and a war cry to strengthen their resolve. A posse, I guess.
>>
>>40814558
could say that they are remenants of the chaos invasion or even a small ork invasion. Could fluff them as feral orks that suck the mostiure out of people
>>
>>40814563
I'm curious, have you actually read any of the past threads? Because if not you might want to do that so you're in the loop.

Besides which that kind of group isn't necessary since the marines and sisters deal with the problem.
>>
>>40814579
I'm sorry, I admit I haven't. I only read the outline on who the Marines are, and what the Sororitas do alongside them. I do like the idea of righteous Islam Mad Max marines and oceanic Battle Sisters teaming up and kicking ass.

>>

The eldar of Dulichium undoubtedly have name for the planet they don't share with the mon'keigh. That, and the name of the eldar themselves, would be good to figure out. My only suggestion is the planet be named Kharak by the eldar.

"We had fought long and hard since the Fall. We, one of the few who had retained a world of the old empire, were a bright hope for our race. And now we laid low a foul enemy of the Eldar, and removed an obstacle to our re-ascendance. Yet, we were not prepared when we returned to our homeworld. Our ships entered into orbit, and what we saw was like reliving the Fall. Kharak was being consumed by a firestorm. The Gardens had been destroyed. There was significant debris in low orbit. There were no life signs detected on Kharak. Not even soulstones" -Autarch Sejet, Hagiiran Corsairs

Here's the first part of it, continued here!

“Sister, how bad was Grammatico?” she heard from below her. She looked down and saw Kleos slowly approach, “Was it bad?”

“No, Brother Kleos, he’ll be quite alright. It was a clean shot, no veins or arteries. Patched up rather nice, actually,” she gave an assuring nod. She could hear feel a collective relaxation among the squad, and as they picked themselves up their banter uplifted.

Baptiste patted Kleos on the shoulder, giving an oddly somber smile and nod. He looked up at the Sororitas, the haze of smoke still clinging to the air, asking what their next move should be.

“We should link up with militiamen, there are a few pieces of information I need,” she answered distantly. Her mind drifted to the maps she had memorized, the bits of information that had drifted to the Astartes that then were passed along to the Sororitas then finally handed to her. Near useless hearsay, but not completely useless.

She could hear automatic weapons fire in the distance, it was coming from the east, around the last supposedly known location of her target. She signaled the men and started gliding down the street, scanning windows and alleyways with the scope on her bolt rifle.

Sergeant Baptiste and his men shuffled down the side of the street, the occasional bark issuing forth about storefronts being clear or a lunge across a wide side street. She looked over as one of the more senior troopers chastised Kleos of neglecting to check a corner. She looked over again to see the man, Costas she believed it was, show Kleos the proper way to sweep his rifle about when checking blind spots while giving a stern yet fatherly talk about the subject. He gave Kleos a pat on the back and a chuckle, the rest of the squad gave him a few lighthearted jeers to boot. She felt a small smile creep up on her after witnessing the scene, and it struck her as an odd comfort all things considered.

Blocks passed and Ophilia noticed there was a relative quietness to the area, and the men must have noticed too, as they had gotten pensive. She glided her hoverboard up to the next intersection and peered around the corner of a shattered refueling station. She saw a group of men with clothes around their faces, green loyalist bandanas tied to their arms. She could feel a relieved sigh leave her mouth.

She signaled to the troopers to stay back and she let out a shrill whistle before speaking in a lyrical language. There were a few fevered shouts back at her. She hopped of her board, placing her bolter upon it, slowly going around the corner with her arms slightly raised.

She rounded the corner and was met looking down the barrel of two crude stubber rifles, which were quickly lowered and replaced with smiling eyes. They spoke out again, bowing and raising their hands. Their robes billowed around them as they exchanged words with Ophilia. They spoke endlessly about their thanks that the Emperor had sent an angel-warrior for their deliverance. She felt a tinge of guilt, having the tact not to tell them that they were neither right that she was anything divine nor possessed the ability to bring the conflict to a swift end. Perhaps they thought there would be countless more Sisters to follow after her, a thought which didn’t sit particularly well either. She kept a politeness as she diverted the conversation to more pertinent questions more aligned with her interest in the region.

As the conversation went on, she discretely glanced over into the ruined refueling station next to her. She could see the shadows of Baptiste and his men poised behind counters and knocked over shelving, all poised to spring and attack at a moment’s notice. It tickled her inside that they were able to be quiet enough for once in their lives to sneak into ambush such that she didn’t even notice and that they had the gumption to break orders to give her such overwatch.
>>
>>40816396
From them she learned that the closest friendly encampment was on the other side of the building across the street, but that no one went through it, always around it, for fear of lurking cultists. After the conversation had devolved back into congenial banter, she bowed, thanking them for their time and help. She then gave a casual waved at the gas station.

“Come on boys, we’re moving,” she said, walking towards the building. The militiamen looked over, their eyes becoming very wide as they saw nine stubber barrels emerge from the ruined storefront, all pointed at them. They pensively dropped their stances and shuffled into the street after her, Kobra jogging over to Ophilia’s hoverboard and gliding it back to the group.

Ophilia looked over to Baptiste as he jogged up beside her. She spoke, “Thanks for keeping an eye out for me Brother Troopers, I had everything under control, but, I do appreciate it.”

“Anyone can wear a green armband, felt it was prudent,” Baptiste said gruffly.

“That it was, brother Sergeant, that it was,” she continued. She looked to her side and saw her hoverboard nudged up next to her, and gave a sign of thanks to Kobra who nodded and jogged back to the main group, Ophilia went back to Baptiste, “I could tell they were from a neighboring tribe from their accent and dialect, and their clothes looked too fresh to be anything other than the reinforcements that just came.”
>>
>>40812889
The true name is a flowing and poetic line relating their peerage, their ancestors and swords, with a great amount of devotion to the Emperor. Its very poetic but unpronounceable by gothic tongues. So they are instead called the Mad Malamuks by most foreigners.
>>
>>40813546

One of the anons in a past thread pointed out that training is about teaching the mad discipline and the disciplined madness.

Perhaps the desert dwellers could lean towards the crazy end and the coastal types could lean towards the disciplined?
>>
>>40816851
That was what was decided upon I believe.
>>
>>40816889

Was getting more of a irregulars vs army vibe from the resulting discussion.
>>
>>40816728
They continued to walk along, Ophilia could feel a static coming from the Sergeant. His posture seemed closed off, “Brother Sergeant, I hope I didn’t sound unappreciative.”

“No, it’s, well, I do,” he said in a slightly flustered tone.

“Well, I do appreciate you and your squad, a testament to the Emperor’s Will. Just don’t misunderstand when I say,” she paused, listening to the distant crackle of weapons fire, “Brother Sergeant, you don’t trust them, do you? Any of them?”

Baptiste looked over his shoulder past his men towards the two militiamen who went back to smoking herbs and keeping watch, “No, can’t say that I do.”

They were half way to the apartment complex the militiamen had talked about when Baptiste spoke, “Hajji’s just different, you know? Hajji don’t surf. Hajji don’t live in sensible places. Hajji kill each other over how many times to pray a day, and then kill each other over which times to do it. Hajji don’t fight in collected civilized ways, just all over the place killing and dying like animals. Hajji won’t eat grox, says its unclean, and won’t drink anything stronger than cherry cola. I just don’t get it”

Baptiste walked a bit more, listening to the crunch of sand under his boots, before saying quietly, “But there is one thing Hajji does like…”

“The Astartes?” Ophilia answered in a quiet apprehensive tone.

“Yep,” Baptiste answered pointedly.

Ophilia looked over at Baptiste, she could see the lines on his face as he marched forward. Another time, another discussion, Ophila told herself.

I think the vast majority would think of them as lesser but important allies/vassels. There is probably some oath or treaty that establishes the sisters as the marine's vassals, but the marines basically never invoke it, because while the Sisters will shut up and soldier when told, the equalists tend to get a new batch of recruits when the marines bring the hammer down.
>>
>>40817078
(hey guys, I'm heading out for awhile, stay tuned for some action!)
>>
>>40817256
Yeah, but as was brought up earlier we have never really gone into the factions that the Mad Mamluks have, and given their fractured nature I'm going to guess the fractions are pretty varied.
>>
>>40817406
Yeah, but I'm not sure they should really be split up on how they relate to the sisters.
>>
>>40817444
Maybe not the sisters so much as outsiders or non-space marines in general, similar to how the marines malevolent think poorly about non-space marines while the salamanders don't.

pretty much. Onto another topic I propose that we begin digging into and elaborating on the heroes of the chapter like Chapter Master Saladin again.

No. Sophia was the one before the current High Abbatissa.

>>
>>40817964
Kaweyê Hasinker, one of the few marines to be trained by the techpriests high above the planet's surface, was the one who discovered the ordinatus buried in the ruins of a crashed ship from long ago. It was by his hand that this impressive weapon was assembled and repaired, and as such he was placed in command of its use and its defence.

I'm here.

Who should be at that fateful card game?

I'm thinking 6 players.

So far I have

Chapter Master Tomorbaatar: unless someone can think of a better name A man sloshed out of his head on the stuff they had been using to clean the engines. In possession of half a fleet of busted up space craft and associated assets and he wagered the lot.

Cardinal Kir ul-Mamalek: The head of the Thorian Sect of the entire sector, one of the most politically powerful men in that part of the galaxy, extremely good at chess not so good at cards. Excellent rabble rouser. Smashed out of his head on ceremonial wine. Wasn't even all that interested in the ships, just wanted to beat the space marine.

Administratum High Adept Eloise Quincey: Extremely sober old lady in every sense of the word. She had been given over all responsibility and authority in coordinating the the supply lines during the crusade. No sense of humour. Was sipping a glass water. Was taking very fateful notes.

Prime Magus Skarflax: Couldn't actually get drunk but had switched off a number of his processors to keep in the spirit of the thing. Wasn't aware anyone was playing for keeps. Lost his left leg in that card game although it was returned to him afterwards. Still doesn't see the point in cards.

Lord General Korbaksonsonson: Had been drunk for several days by that point, he had seen some shit and really wanted to forget. Was half an hour into the game before he realized what was going on. Despite this he did extremely well and briefly owned a robotic leg.

Commissar Ted (no last name): Passed out after the first hand. Lost his hat.

Unless someone can think of something better.

I'm imagining that they all met at the end of a successful crusade.
>>
>>40821553
Have that chapter master be the hero Saladin that we mentioned earlier just to keep things simple and to add more to his epic story.
>>
>>40821553
I think the CM should win on a stupidly low odds draw that got him a royal flush.
>>
>>40821715
I'm not sure about that.

I was thinking that it was a bit obvious?

If the consensus is to go with Saladin as the first CM to own the planet then all is well, just wasn't wanting to be too on the nose.
>>
>>40822048
I guess, the marines can inhabit the planet without ruling it for a bit, being begrudging planetmates, but then the card game happens.
>>
>>40822048
I guess but, I felt like it would be nice if our chapter master(I'm assuming we've only had one since we are a relatively new chapter) had more than one or two epic tales about him.
>>
So, Marine political factions:
Imperialists: They believe that the Mamaluks are the shield and sword of the big E, and the more powerful the chapter grows the better they can do that. They basically want to go full Legion with their own Ultramar providing resources. Most other factions oppose this, and restrain their actions, but Captain Hassan has proven successful in various off world business ventures to improve the chapter's fiscal position.
Traditionalists: Everything is going fine, keep the status quo as is, with maybe a few tactical adjustments.
Wanderers: Think the planet is tying the chapter down, and want to go back to the good old days when the chapter was a crusading one.

No no, keep Tomorbaatar. Sal'a'Din will be the hero of Dar-al-Rashid specifically. But how did the game go in the fateful direction it did?

Also, I like how the Cogboy didn't see the point of cards, but was game enough to make himself tech-drunk for the occasion. Shows surprising humanity.

How about we keep Tomorbaatar as the first Chapter Master and the player in the card game, already at the time a veteran of approaching 700 years. Still to this day lives on as a dreadnaught after getting burnt to hell and back by a Tzneetchian sorcerer.

Sal'a'Din was the next one down the chain of command and is the current Chapter Master.
>>
>>40822553
>40822553
Chronologically, Sal'a'Din would have freed the planet, then Tomarbaatar would have won it. Anyhow, the Mad Malamuks are quite old. Tomorbaatar would not have been the first CM.

I think the costal guys could very well have a small fleet. Their fleet is mostly used for orbital recon and ordinance delivery. Perhaps the cream of the crop troops can deep strike with pods (very operator-esque). Would limited orbital artillery capabilities be too OP?

With their reliance on physical munitions, deep strike resupply would be a must.

Sounds about right. As for the marines themselves, I'd imagine they're fleet is a respectable size, but somewhat unconventional.
I was thinking 1 BattleBarge, 1-2 Modified Exorcist Grand Cruisers, 3-4 strike cruisers and around a 15 escorts of various classes.

Yeah I never understood that. For the Dulichium Hoplites it would probably be canisters filled to the brim with pre-loaded magazines and other assorted munitions.

too be fair if they were delivering space marine weapons they probably would only be able to fit two bolters in there along with ammo since they are pretty big weapons.

(sorry for the wait, I'm trying to type up a little here and there as I have a moment to myself)

“Contact!” was all she screamed as she pumped the trigger of her bolter. Above her she saw the rapid flashes of stubbers and pistols. In the flash of her bolter, she could see a cat-eyed man with his arms wide as his chest exploded into a cloud of ribs and lung. Bullets pounded the ground around her, she could feel the firm punches of crude cheap subber ammunition impacting and bouncing off her armor. She moved her bolter a few degrees, in the bolter flash she now saw a man with a multipoint star etched on his forehead screaming as his intestines splashed out of his abdomen. She heard screeching above her and shouts behind her coupled with automatic weapons fire as her boys shot through the windows, aiming at anything they even thought was moving. She moved her bolter another few degrees, in the flash of her bolter she couldn’t see any distinguishing features of a woman because there was nothing left of her face except a tongue and jawbone loosely hanging by a few chance tendons.

She fired a fourth shot, hitting a cultist in the hip and separating him from a leg of which he seemed to be very fond, and heard a dull thud next to her foot. Without lowering her rifle she saw a green hunk of metal with cross hatched patterns on it.

“Grenade!” she shouted, scooping the grenade with the inside of her foot, launching it behind a rotten receptionist’s desk. She dove to the side behind the cover of a decretive stone wall, she could hear the ceasing of fire from her squaddies amid of myriad of shouts and shuffles. From behind the desk she could heard someone faintly saying ‘fuck’ before the entire enclosure was enveloped in the sound of the blast. The explosion behind her left a ringing in her ears.

The Sororitas and the Sergeant continued to walk up front in silence, the remaining men trudging behind while pointing the barrels of their stubbers in every which way. A footsteps away was the entrance to the apartment lobby. Ophilia stopped just shy of the blown out doors leading in, her black robes fluttering a bit in the desert wind. From her periphery, she could hear Baptiste tell two troopers to look inside the building. Footsteps up to either side of her, gentle clicks, then beams of light flashing around the interior through the windows. Yet the shadows seemed to shift in an odd way. She scrunched up her nose and scooped her bolter rifle from off the hoverboard and cradled it in her arms.

“Flare,” she said while extending a hand to her side while keeping her gaze fixed front. She could feel it placed firmly in her hand. With a swift motion, she pulled the ignition tab and walked through the entrance as sparks began to erupt. Behind her she could hear whispers of ‘Where is she going?’

Flickers of light sparked throughout the dark lobby and she dropped the flair by her feet as it sputtered into full luminescence. As the area bloomed in light she brought her bolter to her shoulder. In the new found light glinted a dozen pairs of eyes scattered throughout various corners and balconies, many of which seemed oddly less than human.
>>
>>40828869
After the shock passed through her body, she looked to her side, and saw a meter away a trembling man with a painted eye-holed burlap sack over his head, colored in red, green, light purple, and blue quadrants. He held an auto stubber, but it shook violently in his hands.

“Gods… oh Gods…” he stammered as she slowly raised the barrel of her bolter. With a slow shake of the head and gentle squeeze of the trigger, blowing a hole clear through his torso and spraying viscera all over the staircase behind him.

She stood up from where she squatted, looking over the lobby in the dying light of the flair. Bodies and pieces there of scattered everywhere. Behind the remnants of the receptionist’s desk were thick pools of blood with limbs piled about. She nodded quietly to herself and looked over to the blasted out doorway, seeing her boys walk into the lobby.

“Shit ma’am, they all dead,” the Sergeant said, with a chuckle of disbelief.

“Eh, this one ain’t, but he ain’t all together,” Sotiropoulos, pointing his squad action stubber at the man’s head. There was a short rattle of fire and splatter, “Chalk one confirmed kill, bros.”

“That doesn’t count, he was missing his leg,” Ophilia heard from the group amongst some boos and hoots.

“Aw, fuck you guys,” Sotiropoulos muttered as he kicked the remnants of head.

Writefag here, could I ask a drawfag to sketch up Ophilia and her squad?

Also, we should make a 1d4chan page for all this stuff soon. If we do, I'm going to give everything a thorough re-write, because I know how rough my writing has been, it's all feverishly written first draft material, but I'm loving it all so much I just have to put it out.
>>
>>40829065
It would be interesting to have some writing about everday life and interaction between the Mamluks and Sisters. Some sisters and astartes breaking of into pairs to discuss things while others glare at each other or train.
That's not even getting into their time of worship.
>>
>>40827238
Well, seeing as the Inquisition isn't keen on their blood rites and the like, nor their Red Rage...

Second Writefag here: Could I ask for drawfaggotry of Cuchulan's sentencing/judgement, comicbook panel style?
>>
>>40829065
what should the 1d4chan page be called then. Should we make it the space marine chapter name, or the planets name?
>>
>>40829580
Considering this is about more than just the chapter it should be the planet.
>>
>>40829619
Depending which planet name you choose, you're going to upset half the citizenry. The only choice is which half to upset.

Seems on par with Emperial politics.
>>
>>40829669
alright probably should do a vote on what to call it then just in case. Probably want to go for the space marine one to be honest

Mad Mamluks, "Sipahi Marines."
>>
>>40829744
Dar-al-Rashid is the planet name. It actually may be a good idea to make three pages. A planet page as the main hub and then a page for the space marines and sisters. If anyone thinks otherwise though
>>
>>40829918
That is an excellent idea. That clears up the name problem.

Mister, that's a hundred times better than anything I could doodle out. Woohoo, our first drawfaggotry!

>>40831918
The High Abbatissa (no name yet) commands the Sisterhood.

The militant branch of the Sisterhood stands at a few thousand fully initiated, power armoured sisters. If including non-militant convents (who all have at least very basic combat training just in case if emergencies) it runs well into the tens of thousands.

They don't have a battle cry although some do scream war hymns and more tribal chants.

Speciality is high-speed carnage.
>>
>>40832033
instead of high speed carnage it would probably be best to call it high speed disruption tactics.
>>
>>40832033
>high speed carnage from hover-surfboards

>>
>>40832230
I didn't think it's possible to combine SM armor with that lamellar-over-mail look, but you did it. Very nice.

Though I think regular Marines should have a helmet, not just mail face-cover. Don't they have all sorts of useful things in those helmets?

Things that would be even more useful for the commanders, who never wear helmets. RAGE.
>>
>>40828901
>>40828883
>>40828869

Good stuff mate.
>>
>>40832230
I think this works well. They sacrifice a marginal amount of the protection offered from standard power armour so they move faster both on foot and vehicle.
Alternatively this could be the design for their Scout Company or their version of initiate.

I still think Bikes is the way to go since Jetbikes are too damn rare to be fielded in significant numbers for a White Scars successor Chapter.
>>
>>40832920
I would think that lamellar is just a cosmetic addition over standard power armor. Like Dark Angels robes, but cooler.
>>
>>40832920
yea plus you there is the fact that the only jetbikes left belong to the dark angels
>>
What about hoverboards with grav-chute attachments for sister HALO drops or sky surfing?
>>
If no one else is coming up with a name for the head of the sisterhood can I suggest Theodora Demetriou. Unless someone thinks up something better
>>

>>
File: Nurgle Ork.jpg (45 KB, 315x315)
45 KB
45 KB JPG
>>40837952
The orks fit into this as the unknowing foot soldiers of the eldar menace. The planet has been invaded numerous times by orks. Its the reason there are 2 hives on a planet that wouldn't usually support them, shelters for the entire global population. Eldar like to trick orks into WAAAAGH!!!ing on the planet. WAAAAGH!!! Choppaman under successive Choppaman Warbosses of the Choppaman Empire are usually who they get.

The orks can't reproduce with any great ease on the surface because 90% of it is either too wet (under water) or to dry (desert) so if they kill all the humans then start killing each other when the targets run out they won't be able to recuperate their numbers quickly and can be easily removed. Then the eldar can have the planet back, assuming they beat the Tzneetchians to the Promised Land.

The Dark Eldar are just another type of eldar that they hate in equal measure to the first lot. They recognize that they are distinct breeds but on the whole don't much care as the solution is the same to both problems.

And then you have Chaos Orks. Fuck those guys in particular.
