>FIFTY THREADS SO FAR FUCK YEAH!
>>
>>40859981
A great cheerful roar came from the public; they all stood up and threw laurel branches along with silvery coins and other small gifts. It seemed that no other participant had reached the three waves in a long time, maybe even decades.

Your team was tired and wounded, but mostly proud of their achievement, they had demonstrated to them all that the power of bionics and machinery is above what simple flesh and organs can do. They had fulfilled their duty as warriors of the Omnissiah and hoped that their show attracted many of those impressionable citizens to their cause and made them enlist on the Cloud’s Mechanicus temple.

From the gates some servitors appeared, your team got tense and in position, with their weapons raised and the fingers ready to pull the triggers, luckily, it was completely over. Those servitors simply grabbed the dead bodies around and dragged them deep back, probably those deceased prisoners didn’t had burying privileges, especially in a place like this one in which the natural soil is so limited. Their flesh would be used to feed the engines that power the many machines that compose this place or if they aren’t damaged enough they might even be recycled into servitor parts.
>>
>>40860013
When your team noticed that the meant no harm they relaxed, soon a cohort of blue robed techpriests guided by a Magus gracefully fell from the skies. Each of them had one of those Seraph Wing Pack installed and another one on their hands.

“Honorable warriors, your acts have granted you all the right to soar the skies; a dream of humanity will now become a possibility thanks to the Machine God and its gifts.”

Along with the wings he gave us an installation scroll that detailed step by step how to install the wings.

After that most of your warriors returned to the Cruiser to rest and heal. You were very tired, having to send the Astropathic message and the fight put you on the verge, you were still able to move around thought. You could still spend the last hours until the Cruiser leaves doing something else.

> Send a message to Eugen and Faust saying goodbye and return to the ship to take care of your daughter. She might still need to be next to you.
> Send a message to Eugen and Faust saying goodbye and tell your warriors about the fight and see if you can get a copy the recorded combat.
> Send a message to Eugen and Faust saying goodbye and return to the ship to install the wings on your back. Also study and see if you can improve them. You are still busy with the contruction of the XenoPsychic Bane so this might be your only chance.
> Meet with Eugen and Faust and chat with them. Try to regain their friendship and ask about what plans do they have in the future.

Could we tell one of our commanders, instead of us, to spread the video? Also make sure the message is rather sorrowful about our friendship drifting apart, how were realizing new human emotions and such with our daughter and friends, and how we wish them the best.

We have a daughter? What's xenoPsychicBane?
Holy fuck I missed the last few threads, what's going on?
>>
>>40860637
Adopted, and xenopsychic bane is a project the inq. gave us.
>>
>>40860637
Alaria are adoptive daughter. Xenopsychic bane is a machine that should be able to kill all demo psykers designed for an inquisitor. (Meaning this is going to go horribly wrong)

We adopted the daughter of two deceased skitaris. The xenopsychic bane is a project commissioned to us by the inquisitor.

As the rest of your warriors left to return you left the Arena, people all around you cheered and whispered under their breaths, unknowing that your ears could catch their remarks and chitchats with ease. You weren’t hurt, only tired, meeting with your two warriors wasn’t impossible and the ship would be docked for a few more hours after all.

++REQUESTING AN INFORMAL MEETING WITH SKITARII FAUST & EUGEN++

You sent using mental orders and your HUD interface. Like invisible wisps your message was divided into several packets and travelled the air rebounding from transmitter to transmitter until they meet and reached the receivers. It didn’t took long until they answered back with the proposition of a meal on a close Restaurateur.

Most techpriests used to eat on their own; isolated from distractions like meaningless conversations or other kind of interferences. Feeding times should be as quiet and fast as possible, that was the norm.

You placed the direction of the rendezvous point with your interior cogitator and soon after the closest route appeared in front of you in the form of a luminous line to follow that only you with your special eyes could see.

Meanwhile you ordered to your generals to connect into the Cloud’s telecommunications mainframe to download the fight depicting the combat you and your team recently had; that would surely skyrocket your popularity and their morale. Besides, the study of the Seraph Wing Pack would send them all into a joyful spree.

When you reached the place you saw that it was noteworthy because it had crystalline transparent floor and that the sky and clouds under their feet. You felt unease; those floorplan was surely designed for standard human weight and you were way heavier with all your bionics and weapons.

The couple was already in there, they donned their old robes but their hoods now were blue, white and black. Those colors were the ones of the local AdMech temple, this was a clear yet heartbreaking indication that meant that their transition towards the new temple was starting and steady and as the time went by they would lose more and more ties with their old temple and ways…

With them there was a small infant, almost two years old. It was pale, had jet black hair and bright blue eyes. The infant smiled at you heartwarmingly, she still didn’t look like them but it was obvious that Faust’s and Eugen’s DNA was inside each of her cells.

>What's XenoPsychic Bane?
A project designed by Inquisitor Dhroznak from the Ordos Xenos. It is planned to be able to neutralize and kill psykers from alien races. So far we only know it has pods that can be changed in dimensions to store the aliens and some kind of strange cables with them.

>Apologize for being a poor friend.
You walked towards their table and sat next to them. Somewhat ashamed you looked at them under your hood.

“I am so sorry, I have been completely focused on my work and duties and left everybody behind, I have been chitchatting and greeting everybody here and there but it clearly wasn’t enough.”

Eugen grabbed her daughter on her arms and seated it on her lithe lap.

“We are not angry. We were worried, and we once again are. You were always a cold one. Techpriests have to leave behind part of their humanity to gain the power and knowledge that the Omnissiah grants us, it is a small price really but still we have to be cautious about it.”

Faust talked next.

“Tales and hearsays about techpriests and magos that leave behind their human essence and become husks of what they once were are not unheard of. We were afraid of you losing touch with what means to be part of Humanity.”

“That’s why we made you adopt Alaria, we believed that she would be the cure, a way of direct you into the good path.”

“Yet still…” You said.

“You ended leaving her behind, everybody behind and worrying only on work. I am not saying that focusing on your holy duties its wrong, but if you can only work and do nothing else…what’s the difference between you and a servitor?”

They couldn’t be more correct, at first you were apathetic, cold and introvert, but lately you had learned to embrace feelings and rely on relationships. You had been learning what it meant to be a human, someone capable of loving and hating with burning passion. Yet still, you were close to send it all to oblivion.

“I’m so sorry…”
>>
>>40861753
>Ask them about their daughter.

“How…How is her?” You said pointing at the small girl.

“She’s called Uccana.” Said her mother.

“She will soon become two years old, the cold environments of the ship and the noise of the chiming pipes aren’t good for her, she’s always cold and is starting to lose hearing. We don’t think she is destined to be a techpriestess.”

“That’s why we believe that she might have a better future in this place. It seems peaceful enough and we are assured a steady job as Techpriests or Skitarii…This is the best we can do for her.”

“How…how old is her?” You asked.

“She’s close to become two years old.”

>Ask them about their future plans, and how they entered into the Melchisidorian Admech temple.
“What about that job you two mentioned about?”

“Well, we would be strangers but even if our color schemes and knowledge are different both the local temple and the one we grew in have the same basic rules and faiths, we will be able to adapt.”

“Besides. “ Added Eugen. “I already know how to fly. This is my place.”

It was worth it at the end. After eating your meal and paying for it they said the following line

“We forgive you, Heracor. Thanks for coming, there is still hope for you.”

It was starting to get late; the Cruiser would only be docked for a couple of more hours. As you left the restaurant with them a girl, no more than fourteen years old eagerly meet you as she blushed hard.

“Sire sire! Are you the champion of the arena!? Please come!”

>The last time you followed a girl it went fine. Go with her, you still have time to spare.

>The last time you followed a girl it went fine. Go with her, you still have time to spare.

With a hug you said goodbye to the couple and the daughter and got closer to the stranger.

She would be between thirteen and fifteen years old, worse a semi transparent dress, you couldn't discern if she had underwear or not thought. Her skin was fair and covered in freckles. Two big green eyes and a smile with irregular teeth made her face look cheerful and cutesy. Her hair had orange tones and was ended in a couple of braids.

"Sire sire! Are you really the champion of the arena?" She repeated as you got closer to her.

"W-well. We were a team, I am one of the champions."

She joyfully smiled.

"Why don't you come home with me? Its not far away, I would love to spend some time with someone as strong and bold as you.."

Her last words were kind of shocking, she told them in a somewhat lustful way.

After your victory you had become a famous person of some sort. It was kind of understandable that she had some kind of appreciation for your persona.

"I am sorry young one, but I cannot meet your requirements. Albeit I do appreciate them greatly. I have family duties to fill. Don't you have a family to be with?"

She seemed kind of hurt, not because of your rejection but by the keyword family. She got all red and kind of teary, then started spouting something under her breath before turning around and running away.

You wanted to follow back and hesitated for a second before running behind her, to your surprise she ended jumping from a ledge into the nothingness. You thought she had killed herself but soon to your surprise she appeared on a transport vehicle capable of flight. Safely seated on top of some boxes and looking at you spitefully.

On the roof of the vehicle a man stood defiantly, he shared some traits with the girl like the eye color and the freckles but was older, close to be an adult. Without a word the vehicle flew away until it got lost in the forest of suspended buildings and neverending clouds.

Puzzled and greatly confused you walked back to the ship and searched your daughter. The following hours you told her of what you did and how you fought the enemies, she also told you how she and Mellizune explored and played hide and seek. After that you two shared a good meat and helped her with her homework and training.

At some point during all those activities the ship left the spaceport and entered the warp, you were so focused on expending time with your beloved daughter that you didn't even noticed it at all.

There would be plenty of work to do tomorrow but today you would spend your entire day being a good father.

The next morning you woke up and got your schedule program running to see what would you do today and how to spend your time.

What would you do today?

For the people wondering about the lusty teen. It wasn't genestealers, holy shit they will appear at some point, be patient.

It was a trap, the guy was criminal whose parent's died on the same arena combat years ago, he uses his sister to bait champions and then attack them. He can forgive them for being combatants because not all of them are in the arena by their own choice. What he cannot forgive is them being killers and sexual deviants.

>Help Alaria with her work and training.

The next morning you woke up in the bathtub. It was weird, if you recall correctly you went to be along your daughter and tried to sleep tightly hugging her..

After walking towards her and dressing with a clean robe you slowly woke her up. Soon afterwards she was already stuffing herself with a steady and highly caloric breakfast.

"What do you have to do today dear?"

"Mphf!" She said with some Lactis derived beverage on her lips. "Today I have energo-theory study the first tfive hours and then study of the concordance of litanic prays and ritualistic machine spirit maintenance."

You nodded softly trying to remember how you took those classes, there were some fragments but still most of your past was confusing and surrounded by a dark fog.

She had class each day for twelve hours and then at least another four hours of homework. You couldn't do much with her classes but if you helped her with the homework she could easily halve those four hour in half. Giving her other two precious hours of free time to spend with you.

"After classes I will meet with you, I have a present for you." You said with a soft pat on her hooded head.

"YAY!" She cheerfully said.
>>
>>40863830
>Study the wings and see if you can improve them.

After she left towards her classes you stood up and walked towards towards the Cathedral. Once inside most techpriests looked at you with reverence and even called you "The bringer" as an informal title. You didn't found an STC but the armor and the wings were two gifts that had gathered the attention of most of the members and practically reinforced their faith in the Machine God at least a hundredfold.

In the workshops and the other crafting areas you weren't the only one that had come with the Seraph Wing pack. Some of your warriors had zealously kept theirs for themselves but other due to their fighting style didn't had much use of them and didn't cared letting them for study. Your presence was awe inspiring because you were the reason of why they had such fine pieces of machinery.

The techpriests had some limitations thought, they could use auspexs to find its inner workings and secrets but in such enclosed area training and its active use would be hard, maybe with some organization and luck the Cathedral could empty a warehouse and empty it to use its massive dimensions to try actively flying with the wings.

So far they only knew that it was a mix of jetpack, jump pack and glider. It was formed by three main parts, the two wings and the rear pack.

The wings were connected to the spine as if they were regular dendrites and for better grip and maneuverability they took two ports each. They had to be obligatorily connected in the top ports as those were the ones most closely located to the shoulder blades and thus gave a better man/machine connection. Those wings could be locked to allow them to glide or flapped to allow sudden height increases or other air maneouvers.
>>
>>40863849
The rear pack was a regular exhaust that made from a turbine that trapped air and pressed it so hard that it became solid, then it was expelled and the other side while burning it at the same time. The result was an intense jet propeller that in conjunction with the wings gave total free roam.

So far you didn’t know how to improve the design and you were too afraid of breaking it and not being able to repair it afterwards. Improving it would have to wait for later.

If you wanted to install it on your body you would have to remove the following dendrites: Proxy Drone, Biologis Advanced tool, Plasma Cutter and one of your Claw Dendrites.

>Help with her training by analyzing the wings together, no reason not to. We can explain its workings to her.
After the twelve hours of work you came back and helped Alaria with her duties and homework. With it done you carried her towards the Workshop and shown her the Wings.

“D-Daddy…” You said awkwardly. “Has gotten those in Melchisidor’s Cloud. You like them?”

“Waaaah! Can you fly with those?”

“We believe so, yes. Let me explain you how they work.”

You proceeded to explain her how the air was moved and how the wings were connected, she didn’t seemed to understand most of it and that made you end having to explain her many terms and concepts. As you were about half of the explanation it had been so enloganted that it ended becoming nighttime. Sadly you didn’t become able to explain it all today.

>Work on the project ( 8 months work // 4 months free time )

You place the Wings as a secondary project and focus on ending Karelia's orders. The blueprints make you construct an pod of some sort, it has very precise measures and dimensions and more than once you had to spend days or weeks to create a piece of the exact size.

It was a hard task, you could ask help to craft pieces or smelt necessary metals but the secrecy of the project ended making you having to assemble it all on your own.

Some days were restraining for the mind, the days that you had to understand how some pieces had to be placed or installed, others were physically restraining, the days that you had to move heavy pieces or do other kind of menial task.

Still you tried to find time and energy to help Alaria and chitchat from time to time with the rest of your friends.

You kind of understood how the machine worked, still some of its pieces were of psychic nature and its function was completely out of your reach, they were so strange that you had to come to Karelia for her to get...or create them. Those were the few moments you had some contact with her.

After height long months you managed to finish it completely. Proudly you looked at the pod your own hands created. You didn't knew if the weapon would end working but if it did, you were hoping to become recognized as the Techpriest that turned part of that weapon into reality.

Sneakily you covered the pod with a cloth and moved it into Karelia's office.

"Greetings Inquisitress."

"Oh? Greetings Heracor. It's nice to meet you here."

Somehow, she had unconsciously more accepting of yourself, probably because your strange blankness was starting to disappear. You carried the pod inside and revealed it.

"It is done Miss. Your project has come to fruition."
>>
>>40864949

She removed her mask and you could see her tired eyes becoming bright of excitation of happiness.

"Open it, I cannot wait to test it!"

You did so and opened the pod, somewhat worried of with whom or how she would use it. Luckily for you she pushed the hidden button and revealed the secret chamber in which the mutilated and limbless Kroot psyker rested. After almost three entire years of no sunlight and being force feed by tube the creature had became gaunt and emaciated; its skin was incredibly pale and veiny and all his alien bones were noticeable under its thin and frail looking dermis. Its eyes were bloated and covered in bleary mucose. For an instant you even felt pity for it.

It seemed that its eyes didn't saw light in months, the simple act of having some light sources under him turned his eyes jet black and made him tear blood. He had spent so many time in darkness that now the sudden light had turned him blind.

Karelia unplugged and easily grabbed him, she then placed him on the machine. Since he had no legs nor arms most of the pod wasn't being used but that didn't mattered. After using some psychoreactive straps to completely bind him into the machine she proceeded to plug the strange looking cables into his body with your aid. Soon from one of the screens its vital functions appeared, the machine also worked as a vital station.

"Well...now its when the fire trial comes, if it fails it will be a complete waste of time and resources..."

She grabbed the cable filled crown and placed it on the Kroot's head, then used the needles and rivets to forcefully nail it down deep into its thick skull. Shortly after she activated some runes and closed the pod, sealing it airtight soon after that.

From another screen the scan of the Kroot's brain and some luminous circles and lines appeared, forming some sort of circuit.
>>
>>40864974
"What it is?" You asked.

"The Synapse map, it is unique in each race....I cannot tell you much more. I only know that this is what we are seeking for."

Surprisingly she wasn't only happy with the result but she also shook her hand with you. You doubted at first but to not disappoint her you ended giving her your hand.

What should you do in the last four months?

>Be a father to Alaria
After ending your project you ended taking some free time to spend with your daughter. You took her to classes, helped her afterwards and even tried ( to no success ) into cooking something for her to not depend on the ratling cook so much. At the end the few free days turned into an entire week...and finally an entire month.

You didn't ended becoming lazy but honestly you weren't squeezing your time as best as you could. At the end it was the own Alaria the one that asked you to work in some project to not lose the old manners.

She was right, after thinking in what to work at you remembered your old friend Morty. She had spent the last three years stored and gathering dust, in silence, dead.

Somewhat ashamed of yourself for letting such friend abandoned for so long you grabbed the crackled skull and proceeded to repair it.

>Repair Morty

The first thing you did was scan and clean the skull to study the damages and see what was the best way of action.

After that was done you removed all the mechanical parts and fixed the skull parts with clamps, studs and a fixing epoxy. Some parts were so crackled that they couldn't be repaired and had to be switched for metallic counterparts. At the end the Skull looked odd, even without any machine spirit nor mechanism inside of it it had an appearance that made it look closer to the Machine Spirit than it was before.

Happy with the result you later added the mechanisms that survived and the pieces that couldn't be saved, sadly, had to be rebuilt.

After a month or so you were able to turn it on again. It was a mix of bone, metal and machine. Once again you placed a Taser Goad on its end.

Morty was once again back from the dead. Ready to fight for your side.

>Try to improve the wings

Happy with your results with the Skulls you fully returned to working. You got your Seraph Wing Pack and visited the techpriests to see how far did their research go during those months.

They did a superb work. Not only they knew the secrets of the wings but also were starting to plan how to recreate it.

You got your warriors and some of those techpriests and proposed them to not only recreate the wings but also to improve the design. Obviously some of the techpriests were against it as they already believed that they were perfect but since you were the ones that brought them in the first place most of them were on your side and joined the project.

About a month later you and your team became able to improve it and make it be able to take the space of only two dendrites instead of four, it also gained the capacity to be stacked and sum up the power of their engines.

A person that could have six dendrites on its back could install three of those upgraded wings packs on their backs, and thus have six wings and the stacked power of the three jet engines together.

Some of the Skitarius even decided to install a single wing on their backs and armor plate it to use it to parry and block attacks.

>Train with wings
>FOR THIS WE HAVE TO CHOOSE HOW DO WE WANT OUR WINGS, THERE ARE SEVERAL OPTIONS TO CHOOSE:

>One armored wing for defense, unable to flight. ( Takes dendrite 1 or 6 )
>Two wings. Medium speed flight. ( Takes dendrites 1 & 6 )
>Four wings. Fast speed flight ( Takes dendrites 1,2,6 & 7)
>Six wings. Jet like speed flight ( Takes dendrites 1,2,3,6,7 & 8)

Getting around vertical areas is a big plus, and medium speed ain't bad at all. With the two wings are they still armored and able to be used for defense? If they aren't armored would they still offer some resistance, could we install deflector fields on them? Those can be pretty compact, and we did just nat 100.

>Train with the Wings
>Two wings. Medium speed flight. ( Takes dendrites 1 & 6 )

You remove your proxy drone dendrite and the plasma cutter and install the two wings on them.

As you predicted the techpriests managed to empty a warehouse to practice the flight. It was filled with a net to avoid falling to your death, still; you were unsure of it. You were really heavy and that extra weight might end breaking the net and making you irreparably crash and die.

Well, some of the other testers already managed to get grasp of it. You wouldn't be less than them. You climbed into a catwalk and then stood on the ledge of it. You closed your eyes and counted to three.

"One..."

"Two..."

"T-Three!"

You extended your wings and ran towards the border before jumping. During the first seconds you fell completely into freefall frozen in fear, but then the survival instinct kicked in and made you turn your wings to start slowly getting horizontal and then ascend.

With a mental order you placed the jet into a float mode. Slowly you started stopping and staying in mid-air, with your wings flapping and the engine maintaining you on your position.

You were...flying!

The next weeks and months you spent practicing and practicing until you got hold of it and how to fly. You weren't an ace of the skies yet but at least you knew how to fly.

How long does the fuel last for our wings, if used at max capacity?

Thanks for running.

So which worse case scenario is most likely?

>Actually boost xeno psychic powers (and just xeno). Kroot proceeds to take revenge.
>Summons shitloads of daemons.
>Works too well and kills all psychers, including humans like navigators. To make it worse, it has no off button and the range increases over time.
>Attack of the space elves!
>Xenopsychers all across the sector are drawn to our location.
>Necrons steal and further weaponize it. It is mass produced for their use.
>>
>>40866914
>How long does the fuel last for our wings, if used at max capacity?
It is an electroplasmic engine. For roleplaying purposes it will be neverending but really delicate. Running at max capacity for long might make it go boom.

>Can we swap out our claws for the proxy drone and cutter?
Sure, why not.

Thanks for running, it was fun. Any plans to bring back characters at some point later that we left previously? Liwet, Oihan, Spaghetti western cogbro, etc. Any plans to do a section again soon from an alternate point of view. I'd imagine uneventful travel would be a good time for doing a bit of character exposition on the supporting cast, maybe even a bit of humor. Finally whatever became of the mindwiped guardsmen we saved? They still just doing their thing on the ship. OK I lied not the last question, this is it: Are we gonna have someone romantically(or not so much) approach heracor who isn't underage hahaha, sorry that was mean. That was an unsubtle request by Christmas cake by the way from a thread one to now follower. Anyway again thanks for running.

>Any plans to bring back characters at some point later that we left previously? Liwet, Oihan, Spaghetti western cogbro, etc.

Old characters will return yes. I also have planned explaining what kind of fate do characters have once the quest is over. Like explaining that X character lives to be 108 years old and kills a fuckton of xenos or something.

Lol I like placing teen or loli characters to tease and mess with you all. Heracor can still end waifuing someone. Promised
