You are Kusajishi Riku, Captain of the Ninth Division of the Seireitei Court Guard, and today is your first day as a member of the Shiba Clan.

You really don't feel that different if you're being honest.

“That actually happened, right?” you mutter blearily as you sit across from Yoruichi at the table. It's a Scottish-style breakfast this morning, complete with haggis. It's apparently the least popular item on the menu, but that's only because people think too much about what it is and how it's made.

She nods before shoving another slice of toast into her mouth. “Yeah, iddid. Yerrenoblenew.”

So it did, and you're a noble now. Definitely not something you thought would happen back when you were living on the streets, but not exactly an unwelcome development.

“Thanks for breakfast, but I've got some business,” Yoruchi yawns, stretching her limbs as she gets on her way. “See ya later, Lady Riku.”

“Cut the shit, Lady Yoruichi,” you smirk before turning your full attention to stuffing your face.

There are a bunch of things you can think of to spend your time on as you fill out the relatively light paperwork load for the day, careful not to spill anything all over it. Requisition forms, patrol logs, after action reports, and an official reprimand from one of your Squad leaders against a rookie who showed up for duty hung over. Nothing important, and nothing that'd take you more than a few seconds to handle.

You feel like you could do with getting out a little, stretching your legs, and maybe pounding someone into the ground like a tent peg for fun. Oh, they'll try to talk to you for sure, but that's really a secondary consideration.

There's a Captain in the Seireitei now who bothers you a little: Captain Zaraki, the new “strongest swordsman” to have taken the title of Kenpachi. For all his power, you've seen very little swordsmanship out of the man. It's about time to do the former Kenpachi's job for him and put Zaraki through his paces.

“What are you thinking?” Rangiku asks you, noticing that your face has split into a wide grin. “I know that look. It never means anything good.”

“I'm going to go punch Zaraki in his stupid face,” you declare, standing up to leave. “Take care of things back here.”

Rangiku sighs heavily, knowing that there's no real chance of convincing you to give up. “Just try not to make me an orphan again.”

“I'm more worried about my new name,” you joke. “I don't wanna be the next Kenpachi.”

Your adoptive daughter's stifled laughs put you a little at ease as you head off towards Kenpachi's overwhelming spiritual aura... which strangely enough, you find to be at the First Division's headquarters.

“Why's Zaraki here of all places?” you ask Lieutenant Sasakibe, who simply shrugs.

“The Head Captain wanted to see what Captain Zaraki could do with a sword,” he informs you. “So far he has found the man lacking, but the Eleventh Kenpachi is also an unwilling student.”

That makes some amount of sense, of course, and when you enter the hall where Yamamoto is watching the progress of Captain Zaraki's sparring. Several members of the First Division lie all around on the ground, writhing in obvious pain.

>>40886710
“Incorrect!” the old man barks. “You were merely hitting them, not striking them! Do you believe you can kill an enemy with such half-hearted attacks?”

“Quit fuckin' with me, old man,” Zaraki growls. He's styled his hair differently today. “I already toldja, I don't get what the problem is!”

>Mind if I step in, Head Captain? Maybe the Kenpachi needs to get his butt kicked a bit.
>Perhaps Captain Zaraki can't take training with shinai seriously. Live blades may work.
>I want to punch something. If Zaraki learns from the experience, it's a bonus.

“Mind if I play with him for a bit?” you ask, announcing your presence. You briefly contemplate the idea of drawing Tenkotsuki, but quickly abandon it. “I've heard he's been having some performance issues, so it might be a good experience for him.”

The Head Captain nods subtly in approval. “I had considered the possibility that Captain Zaraki might require a worthy opponent to learn from. In fact I was about to call upon my own Third Seat, Komamura, for such a purpose.”

“Quit yer yammering,” Zaraki sighs, resting his shinai over his right shoulder. “Am I gonna get a good fight in today or is this just a waste of my time?”

“I'm not looking for a fight,” you reply casually. “If I wanted that I'd have found a swordsman. All I'm looking for is a punching bag with legs.”

You can see the faint traces of a smile playing across the old man's face as he watches you get Zaraki riled up for a fight. And it's working quickly.

“You sure talk a good fight,” your opponent grins madly as his reiatsu begins to swirl visibly around his body. You can tell immediately that his spiritual power is greater than yours, but not by as much as you might have thought. “I'm getting' real excited here... hell, I'm even feeling generous! I'll let you take the first shot.”

Yeah, you're not really in a mood to play games with him right now. But you'd be perfectly happy to show him how far out of his depth he is.

“Impressive,” you compliment him on the power of his reiatsu. “Sōkō Shunkō. That's my move, your turn.”

Your own reiatsu washes over you in a wild maelstrom of power, pale and white as snow. It's an uncommon color for reiatsu, but you figure it has to do with Tenkotsuki. It's said that “good” or “divine” kitsune had pale yellow or white fur, so it would make sense that your own reiatsu could be white.

“So that's your move!?” Zaraki crows happily, tossing his shinai aside and grabbing his nameless zanpakuto. “Now that's somethin' worth attackin!”

With an excited roar Zaraki raises his sword in his right hand and charges you with surprising speed. Unfortunately for him it's nowhere near fast enough to make up for the fact that his actual strike is so slow and predictable. Your hirenkyaku closes the distance instantly, and you land a punishing palm strike to his exposed right ribs.

The much larger man is lifted off his feet and sent crashing across the room. One of the downed First Division swordsmen groans as Zaraki rolls over him and flips onto his feet with a wide, psychopathic smile.

“You telegraphed,” you tell him in an annoyed tone. “Stop it.”

“Can't help it,” he growls. “I've gotta lift my sword to attack, you dumbass!”

You merely shrug. “It's a sword, not a club. You don't have to wind up that much.”

“And use both your hands.”

“And why should I?” Zaraki asks as he swings his sword at you again. This time you counter him with an elbow strike to his wrist, though that swing was a little better. “If I use both my hands and cut you down, I wouldn't get to fight anymore.”

The third strike you merely sidestep, not even seeing much point in stopping it.

>And if I beat you to death, you wouldn't get to fight anymore either.
>Don't make light of your opponent, and don't make light of me.
>Just keep punching the shit out of him until it's worth drawing your sword.

I feel like we should convey that, under certain circumstances, it's okay to toy with your opponent, since we're doing it right now, but our concern is it doesn't seem like Kenpachi is capable of doing anything but that.
>>
>>40888267

>>
>>40888285
I understand. But that line is retarded. It means that Riku is an idiot by her own admission, because she hasn't dropped him.
>>
>>40888314
So what you're saying is we should Musashi him, and beat the fuck out of him with a wooden sword?
>>
>>40888335
Nah we need to make him learn, We'll beat him up with our fists
>>
>>40888377
Which is why a sword that would be used in the same style as his would be most beneficial.

Hence grabbing a shitty wooden sword and hitting him with it to prove doing it right is worth it.

“I'm toying with you,” you explain as you duck calmly under the next swing. “I'm doing it because I know I can get away with it. So quit worrying about accidentally killing me, cause at this point I'm just gonna end up beating you to death.”

To emphasize the truth behind your boast you catch Zaraki by his wrist, punch him twice in the throat, and throw him through the nearest wall. The old man merely watches in what seems to be an amused silence.

“This is how Captain Shihōin trained me, and how I trained my kids,” you call out casually as the Captain steps back in through the massive hole in the wall. “There's no substitute for it.”

Zaraki cracks his neck menacingly, but you can tell you've been gradually chipping away at his stamina with each blow. “So you think it's like teachin' a brat, is that it?”

“Am I wrong?” you ask calmly. “If so, then show me. Make things interesting for once.”

You see Zaraki grip the hilt of his blade with his left hand. They're even spaced properly, though his grip looks a bit too tight. It's especially obvious in the first two knuckles on each of his hand.

“He seems frustrated,” Tenkotsuki muses.

“The only question is whether he's learning,” you counter. “Let's see what he does next.”

In an instant, he's in motion. His strike is sloppy, and far too slow, but other than that it seems to be honest to god kenjutsu.

Your draw is lightning-fast, and you can tell that the Head Captain is impressed to see Tenkotsuki immediately shift form into a kodachi as she releases with no prompting from you. She knows what you intend to do, because she's seen you do it thousands of times over.

Zaraki is overreaching, and you intend to punish him for it.

His sword strikes the exact point a third of the way out along the length of Tenkotsuki's blade where her sori, or curvature, is greatest before it continues relatively straight towards the point. Edge slides against edge like greased ice against one another as Zaraki's blade slips uncontrollably to your left. You then pivot on your right foot and wrap your left hand around the hilt of your sword.

And he's gone.

He's backpedaled away from you in anticipation of your riposte, and given himself enough distance for a second attack: this time swinging upwards from below towards your right side.

“Is it just me or has he learned?” Tenkotsuki muses in your mind as you prepare your own strike.

Kenpachi has learned alright. It's just not enough, and you see something that looks a lot like dawning realization in the man's eyes as you feel the muscles of your arms and shoulders ripple and bulge from the rapidly building power within them.

“Kamaitachi,” you declare as you bring down your sword. It's even more powerful of an attack than you expected, given that your Shunkō is still active. The force of Tenkotsuki's blade moving actually compresses the air around her, causing her image to waver and dance like the shimmering of a desert mirage. The air splits in an arc that slashes violently towards Zaraki and delivers a massive impact that sends him flying.

No? He doesn't seem to care about friendship near as much as Luffy and Naruto, hell he barely cares more than Goku, who's just a couple steps above being a sociopath.

Goku was meant to be a sociopath. They made him too friendly in the show.
>>
>>40889545
he's extremely smart for a shonen protagonist, and not too dumb when he's dealing with something he understands. and his 'muh friendship' rants are more 'dude why the fuck did you kidnap/stab someone I like' rather than 'i'm strong because of the people close to me'

His clothes tatter in front as a shallow gash rips through his flesh where the sharpened vacuum between the two layers of compressed air. It's deceptive in that the slash itself isn't what's dangerous, though it could definitely kill. Instead it's the force of the air itself crashing into Zaraki's chest that breaks his ribs and bruises his organs before he blasts a second hole in the wall.

"That is not a zanjutsu technique that I see very often," Head Captain Yamamoto muses quietly, visibly surprised at your use of the Kamaitachi. "How did you learn such a thing?"

"I saw Captain Yoruichi use it a few times," you admit. "She said it required unusual hakuda skills to work."

"It does indeed. It seems Miss Shihōin's instruction has been quite effective."

"That... wasn't... nice..." Kenpachi gasps as he steps over the rubble his unintended egress caused. He's bleeding quite a bit, and his breaths come in harsh, ragged gasps.

“The Ryutō technique I used to deflect your strike was no trick,” you contend, “and neither was that. It's merely the result of a sufficiently fast strike with enough force behind it. I can use the Kamaitachi because I trained to use it.”

Kenpachi seems to ponder that point as he continues to pant. “That was zanjutsu too?”

“It was.”

“And ya think I could learn how to do that?”

You shrug, returning Tenkosuki to her sheath. “I dunno,” you admit. “It takes more than just skill with your sword to use that one, but kenjutsu's absolutely something you could use.”

“I don't like it,” Kenpachi grumbles. “But I guess I could put somethin' like kenjutsu to use.”

“Atta boy.”

You understand the man's thoughts on the matter, really. He values his own strength above all else, and using something he views as a “trick” offends his pride. It wouldn't really be his own strength that was helping him win, so it wouldn't be worth doing. On top of that he actually enjoys his fights, which means that ending his fight faster means he wouldn't get to have his fun.

But with this step, maybe he'll start to understand the fact that his duties as a Captain require him to fight like a professional for once.

The Head Captain bows his head slightly... it may be prudent to leave before he thinks to make you clean up after yourself.

I'd been using the "Renji" as a unit of measurement, which is equal to the spiritual pressure Renji used in his first fight against Ichigo.

In the new system, he would be a "B", or a "B+" after he attains Bankai. Basically one of the top Lieutenants, but not at a Captain level yet. A-range is Captains, C-range is third seat or lower, D is unseated.

Aizen has a ridiculous advantage with him being the strongest mesmer around. All your power does nothing for you as long as you don't know what is real and what isn't.

We break illusions so we take away his greatest asset. in that way we would be around his level in a fight.

I think in one of the official materials, Aizen is 60/60, same as Yamamoto. So we would be in the same ballpark as him but he would still be stronger. Recall that his whole reason for going crazy was that he had become as powerful as he could as "only" a shinigami.
>>
>>40891208

Not with the partial that Riku has, has to be a full successful hollowification. Where you can hold the mask on without limits, or even removing the line completely.

Otherwise it is just a time limited boost.

Riku has no real limits, as Tenko is likely slowly pushing her power upwards too.

Just at this point, you are stacking small continual improvements on a massive total.

Presumably the fact that Tenko just told us that we're basically only capable of using our bare bones Bankai but as our power improves we'll be capable of wielding that great power. Which implies she trusts we're going to get stronger.

Or the fact that a god has wedged itself in the place where our Pride should have been.

Riku is now a 3 tails, towards accessing full power of the bankai.
>>

“Sorry,” you bow, secretly hoping that you're playing this right, “but I have a busy schedule today. Lots of paperwork, you know.”

“Paperwork?” Zaraki scoffs dismissively. “I haven't done anything like that since I killed the idiot who was Kenpachi before me. That's what subordinates are FOR!”

Perfect.

The old man raises one bushy white eyebrow. “You have my leave to continue your business, Captain Kusajishi. Since Captain Zaraki has so much free time he will remain here to help clear the damage.”

You can hear the other Captain groan in frustration as he realizes his mistake, but you quickly flee the scene before he can lodge a protest. Maybe after this show he'll have the sense to learn flash steps.

Your fast steps don't even alert most of the shinigami and nobles you pass by on your way back to the barracks, vaulting over walls and passing whole buildings with a single stride each. The feeling of liberation is wonderful every time you do this.

Finally you arrive at your own quarters, where a hatch leads down into the unusual training space you have set up. It takes a few seconds for you to check for any illusions before opening the portal to the Valley of Screams where Starrk, Halibel, Apacci, and the others live. You wish you could do this without worrying about being followed, but right now it's clear that you're better off being safe.

Things have changed here, you discover.

First of all you're surprised to find an actual structure tucked back into the jungle made from bent, carved wooden timbers and animal hides. There's space allowed for the breeze to flow through, and a hole in the top for smoke. All told, it looks comfortable in a rustic sort of way.

Here is the full quote:

>“Not at all, my dear,” Tenkotsuki laughs softly. “I told you it contains a portion of my power. That was the full truth. When left to rampage uncontrolled it destabilizes and crushes any other reiatsu that manifests within a certain range. That is all there is to it.”

>That makes sense. It explains how the limiter caused your Bankai to only partially affect Thunderbird, since it only had one fifth of its usual power. It also explains why nobody around you can sense reiatsu when you use it: because it simply overwhelms that sixth sense in most people who have it.

>She told you as much up front, you just never thought about it.

>“You have never seen yourself when you use it,” Tenkotsuki continues, “but you also gain a number of ghostly 'tails' in accordance with your own power in Bankai. As you grow stronger you may cast low-level kidō despite my Bankai's effects. It is because over centuries you have gained enough skill to draw on some of that crushing reiatsu.”

>“I will teach you more next time you fight, but know for now that you currently possess three such tails.”
>>
>>40891504
You know what the scary thing about OMG is? He probably falls in the lower S ranks out side of shikai and bankai.

>>40891522
Hm? Not quite. Age represents power level. Each sentry starting at a hundred years a kitsune gains a tail. Till they reach a thousand. Now they don't stop growing in power. What happens is each hundred years their thousandth year they lose a tail until the reach back to one. At taht point they become a god.

Inside you find an extraordinarily calm scene. Blankets and skins have been laid out over the sand to create a floor with sleeping areas, one of which is where Starrk has chosen to lounge. He seems to be sound asleep, while Apacci and Mila Rose sit at a small slab of wood covered with small, polished stones: a go board.

"That's not gonna work, furball," Apacci taunts.

Mila Rose seems to have had enough of her shit. "Oh, come ON! Fine, I'll play here, how 'bout that!"

"And that gives me a snapback," Apacci taunts. "Thank you very much, dumbass."

"Welcome back," a husky voice greets you from behind. "You seem well, Captain."

"Seems like you've made things more comfy here," you observe, turning to greet the blonde arrancar. "Starrk seems to have taken a liking to it."

“Just wanted to check in and see how things were going,” you tell them with a quick sidestep to avoid Lilynette's 'surprise' attack from the ceiling. For a fighter as weak as she is, she sure has good instincts and can really manage to get the drop on you.

“You just made a dumbass pun in your head, didn't you?” she demands loudly from the floor as she rubs he head.

You shrug nonchalantly, knowing it's the surest way to drive her nuts. “You need to work on your landings, Lilynette.”

She sticks her tongue out at you and goes over to wake Starrk with a smack across the head. “Hey moron, we've got a visitior!”

“I know that,” Starrk grumbles warily. “Gimme a freakin' break.”

Yeah, it seems everything around here is just the same as it usually is... just with nicer accomadations.

“So have you seen anything unusual lately?” you ask, taking a seat on the floor.

Apacci shakes her head. “Not really. Nothin' goin' on in Hueco Mundo worth mentioning. You shinigami got 'em all so whipped it's kinda sad.”

“Barrigan's army hasn't made any substantial moves since the Great War,” Halibel quietly confirms, settling in against one of the hide walls of the structure. “Too unnerved by the sudden death of his main rival, I think.”

Looking around you can see that your compatriots are a little antsier than usual. Even Starrk rolls over fitfully, as if trying to find a comfortable position that completely eludes him.

Some how I doubt that's the issue. They wouldn't expect riku to let a hollow kill her. Especially since he attacked first.

“I think I get it,” you mutter quietly, taking careful note of the very human body language you see among your arrancar friends. It's especially telling that none of them seem willing to meet your eyes.

They know it too. “At some level you miss it, don't you? The constant struggle that was part of your lives? It must be such an ingrained instinct for you, more so even than it is for shinigami.”

“It's not just that,” Apacci admits with a frown. “I know it sounds crazy, but part of me's wanted to fight you for years... because after all the shit that's happened I have no idea how strong either of us even are. It feels like I don't even know myself anymore."

“And I know we all feel that way,” she continues, looking around the tent.

“And it bothers you,” you conclude. “You've got it in your heads that it's wrong to want to test your skills by fighting against a friend.”

Halibel nods slowly, while Starrk simply pulls the cloth down over his eyes again with a soft grunt of acknowledgement.

You consider the situation carefully, for several long minutes. It feels wrong to you, the thought of fighting friends at full strength. Against Rangiku and Gin you always held back, and against you Yoruichi always held back. But hollows don't hold anything in reserve, and you're not even sure arrancar can do it either. On top of that the whole point of the exercise seems to be clearing things up, and having each fighter show everyone else what they can really do.

“I'm sure you can move beyond instincts like this,” you insist quietly. “It may take some time, but I've got some faith in you all. But for now, we can fight.”

“You don't have to...” Halibel begins before you interrupt her.

“I'm not going to fight at full power, though,” you tell the arrancar around you. “I'll show you my abilities at reduced strength, and I'll try to help you do the same. Deal?”

Apacci nods silently. Even Starrk sits up and takes notice.

“Good, then let's begin.”

>We'll start with the three Lieutenant-class fighters. One at a time.

"Alright, let's start with Lilynette. What can you do?"

The child-like arrancar blinks at you in disbelief. "Me? You wanna fight me on my own?"

Starrk grunts noncommittally. "Have fun, kiddo."

Lilynette follows you nervously out of the tent, pulling the horn on the side of her head until it comes off. The reishi reforms itself into a strongly curved sword, like a wide fish-hook.

"Alright, shinigami!" she declares, her tone defiant despite her shaking knees. "Let's see what yer made of!"

Her strike is actually pretty powerful, for someone so small. You still catch it in your hand though.

"Nice move!" she shouts, prying her blade from your grip. "But how do ya like this!"

She swings her blade again and again, but not a single strike accomplishes anything more than annoying you.

“Try a cero this time,” you tell her, tapping your chin with one finger. “Right here on the chin, that's it. Show me what you can do!”

At first Lilynette seems taken aback by your demand, but she quickly recovers. “All... alright! Take this!”

Her cero begins to charge in a lime green ball of crackling energy between her eyes. At the same time you gather your own reiatsu near your face, preparing for a trick of your own device...

“Hit me! Come on, hit me!”

Finally the cero releases, ripping through the air straight at your face. It's certainly stronger than you expected, and even Lilynette seems surprised. You could take it on the chin, but in retrospect you're really rather not.

You grin confidently. “Hanki.”

Lilynette stares in awe as you smash just the amount of energy available to you in your weakest, “resting” state back at the oncoming cero and stop it cold in its path. The energy roils, hisses, and then begins to dissipate as it suddenly loses energy. Wisps of colorful reiatsu with no direction drift aimlessly around you as the last traces of the powerful blast disappear.

“That could put most Lieutenants away if it hit,” you admit. “But it's slow. You probably know better than I do to use it carefully.”

“Y... yeah...” Lilynette gulps. “Mila Roooose! You're up next, fuzz-butt!”

“Good luck,” she mutters as she passes by the next arrancar in line.

Mila Rose wastes no time in drawing her zanpakuto.

“Roar, Leona!” she calls as the blade reverses direction in her hands

Her hair becomes a long blonde mane, and the hollow bones on her body shift. They barely cover all the parts you'd call "private" on a human or shinigami woman... and her growth in spiritual power is enough to be alarming. In this form she's more than a match for any Lieutenant in the Gotei 13, though without help from Sun-Sung or Apacci she'd have serious trouble against even a weak Captain.

"I've been waiting for a long time to see what you can do, shinigami!" she roars. "Don't disappoint me!"

No need to fight at full just yet, not with this level of spiritual pressure. You do draw Tenkotsuki however, even if you don't feel the need to release her just yet.

“So you deigned to draw your sword?” Mila Rose smirks. “Next, I'll get you to release it, shinigami.”

You frown. “We had a deal, Mila Rose.”

“Fine then, Captain Kusajishi,” she corrects herself, enunciating each syllable as if it were its own hate-filled word before striking out at you with her rhomphaia. The long, claw-like blade meets Tenkotsuki's repeatedly, probing for weaknesses in your stance and your parries.

It reinforces what you've suspected for a while now, fighting an arrancar like this. “You fight instinctively,” you observe loudly over the sound of your clashes. “As if you've been using that blade your whole life.”

“It's a part of me,” Mila Rose tells you as you narrowly avoid the tip of her blade. “Same as yours!”

Very suddenly you release Tenkotsuki, relying on her shikai's shape to gain a slight advantage. “True enough!”

After deflecting her blade you strike Mila Rose twice in quick succession, once in the stomach and once in the jaw. The twin blows send her reeling, though she quickly recovers her balance. Her eyes show you exactly how she feels right now: surprise at being struck so easily and so hard, and a little bit of panic perhaps that her best attacks can't seem to touch you.

Furious and desperate, Mila Rose charges a deep orange cero in her hand. Unlike Lilynette she takes precautions against a counterattack by raising her blade into an umbrella stance, holding it above her shoulders pointed at the ground in front of her as she holds the cero hand low. Very good, but she's underestimating your mobility.

One step carries you past her, filling your arm with momentum.

“Gotcha!” she shouts triumphantly as her arm crosses in front of her body to aim the cero behind her. But the blast goes harmlessly by to your right side as you continue to spin... and your foot connects with nothing.

“What ever would you do without me?” you hear a tittering voice call out from behind Mila Rose. Sung-Sun has released her own sword, a long, whip-like blade, and grabbed her friend around the ankle to pull her out of the way of your kick.

“Who said you should help me, snake!?” Mila Rose shouts angrily at the now-serpentine Sung-Sun.

She covers her mouth with a long sleeve as she laughs. “She had you dead to rights, so you have no right to complain. Why don't you go spend some time licking your butt, cat-breath?”

“And YOU can just slither back under whatever rock you lived under before Mistress Halibel found you, scaly-assed... snake!”

“How undignified,” Sung-Sun laughs again. “Come back and play with the adults when you can think up a proper insult.”

It's barely even a fight.

You catch Anaconda out of the air as it lashes out towards you like a steely-scale pit viper, and use it to swing Sung-Sun at Mila Rose like a loud serpentine flail.

“What the hell're you doing!?” Mila Rose demands loudly as Sung-Sun crashes into her.

“It's not my fault!” Sung-Sun protests as you use a Sajō Sabaku winds around the two of them, fully chanted by Tenkotsuki.

The two arrancar struggle against the bonds to no avail. “What now!?” Mila Rose shouts in frustration as you yank them both towards you.

“Seki!” you call out just before the arrancar would have slammed into you. The spell bursts as they impact its disk, flinging the two arrancar wildly through the air before you reel them back in again like an extremely angry yo-yo.

“Seki! Seki! Seki! Seki!” you shout, the flailing arrancar cursing at you the whole way.

“Having fun there?” Apacci wonders aloud as you finally release the traumatized duo, and Mila Rose stumbles off to vomit into the bushes.

You shrug. “Maybe a little.”

“Impale,” the horned arrancar declares as her sword shifts form into a pair of multi-pronged deer horn knives. “Cierva.”

Apparently it's about time for the people in this thread to get the arrogance smacked out of them. Figures since it's been a while since the incident where riku nearly lost her arm. Oh speaking that are you two planning to ignore tenkotsuki if she recommends we use our true bankai like people ignored her when she cautioned them about using that kido at full strength?
>>
>>40895990
Night queen. I'm heading to sleep.

Making alot of assumptions there mate.
>>
>>40896013
Assumptions make an ass out of you and mainly just you
>>
>>40896013
Dude calm down, Halibel and Starrk won't go crazy on us. Besides, we've just rekt Zaraki, we can deal with their level of power.
>>
>>40896013
Hold on, these implications are running wild, let me put down my pudding spoon.

You see, we have pretty much avoided using our bankai, two reasons, we do in fact want to keep it a secret, secondly, because Tenkotsuki FUCKING HATES WHEN WE USE IT. Not her words exactly, but close.

So how about you fuck off, because your butthurt is showing so much that I think you're starting to give ME hemorrhoids.
>>
>>40896035
>>40896045
And so are you two
>>40896056
Eh. We are going to be sparring with them after having sparred with everyone else. Also they haven't sparred before now.
>>40896058
She hates using it because we can't use kido in it. Guess what we are going to be able to do once we get all nine tails? Use kido.
>>
>>40895990
Finally, someone who may be more of a match for a Captain... this is where things start to get interesting. Apacci's body is covered in a coat of short reddish-brown fur, as if she's wearing a deerskin. Her hollow bones extend into a pair of elaborate antlers with four prongs each, along with the single horn in the center of her forehead.

"Are we gonna fight or not?" she asks loudly.

You nod and smile, noting her power and confidence. "You're at the level of a Captain. This should be good."

Could you seriously just shut up already? Or throw up a trip so I can ignore you more easily?

Actaully we can. We just will be able to use all the kido we know when we hit nine. And Shunko as well. Oh and how about you throw up a trip so I can ignore you easier.

That one has been rolling around the bored for quite awhile.

I'm a third party as well. Just wanted to mention to him that insulting someone for not coming up with their own is a bit retarded, when you're not either.

"You fucking suck!"
"No you fucking suck!"
HAH YOU IDIOT I YOU DIDN'T COME UP WITH THAT!

But I'll stop replying to it.

Strangely, Apacci seems content to let you take the lead for now, and so you choose to do so. “This is a technique Yoruichi and I perfected together... Sōkō Shunkō.”

The familiar swirling white energy surrounds your body, causing your reinforced Captain's haori to flutter and flap from the sheer, overwhelming power released through your arms and shoulders. Apacci opens her mouth to make some sort of smartass remark before you go on the offensive.

“That's pretty cool,” she compliments you as she meets each of your strikes with a parry of her own. “Not doing much, but at least it looks cool.”

“Those knives are annoying,” you mutter as Apacci tries yet again to trap your sword with the hooks on her twin blades. Finally you manage to land a solid kick to her chest that drives her away from you, and well out of range of her weapons. But as she falls back, balls of crimson energy collect around the points of her antlers.

“Bala Buckshot!” she shouts as the crackling orbs lance out at you in a seemingly random spread. They're way faster than a normal cero, and they're tough to dodge, but somehow you manage.

As your last defensive hirenkyaku carries you clear of the last blast, you find a hooked blade pressed against your neck for a split second before you thrust at Apacci with Tenkotsuki's hilt. It knocks her arm out of the way.

“What was that?” you ask curiously. “I liked it.”

“We call that 'bala'. It's kinda like a cero,” Apacci explains confidently. “It's hardened reiatsu, like a cero but much quicker.”

“And you can fire them from the tips of your horns... color me impressed.”

“Thanks for that.”

>”At this rate you can't win. You know that.”
>Start using kidō, thank her for giving you a proper show.
>Continue on with physical combat.
