You are a senior techpriest of the adeptus mechanicus sent to a planet almost entirely decimated by orks to found a new forgeworld.

When you first arrived you found a young child who seemed to love the mechanicus and seems a likely candidate for this planets first new techpriest.

You have just finished inspecting a local factory which until recently produced lascannons with a slightly incomplete stc.

current party:
you
3 servitor bodyguards

Having inspected the factory what shall you do
>head back up to the explorator ship waiting in orbit
>go talk to that young man the major said you could live with him for now and living in the library could help you learn more about this planet
>head to the church to address the populace
>other (write in)

You walk outside to find him already walking towards you. when he reaches you he starts to talk "the major has said that you are building factorys here hes not completely happy about it but he knows he cant really stop it with only 987 people left on the planet" the young man (you were told his name was timmy) chuckles "anyway i will show you to the library" timmy gesture for you to follow him.

Ask him why the mayor is not happy. What could be better than the creation of factories to forge things for the emperor?

>kill servitor bodyguard

"The people here are very devout the major does not belive in the glory of the omisiah and would rather worship the god emperor in only half his glory"

This could be a problem the Ecclesiarchy will be here within the week and a populace that loves them could cause problems with your plans.

When you arrive at the library you are lead inside and introduced to an Ogryn "this is a friend of mine he wants to be a skitari one day" the big oaf nods his head "anyway i assume you want to learn some more about this planet heres some books that may help you" he hands you a pile of books.

what do you read first
>the dangers of the ocean (a book on the local sea monsters)
>a geography book
>a history book
>other (ask for something specific)
>>

>a geography book
Ask him who else supports the major in his beliefs and if there are any else who favor the Omnissiah.
>>
>>40919493
"just me and bill here" he gestures to the orgyn "there are a couple hundred as extreme as the major but most people should allow it although there are a few really vocal ones luckily the local priest died in the war with the orks"

if there are no votes soon i will write up some geography info

It seems that this planet was first settled during the dark age of technology and terraformed to be like tera in the 3rd millennium in basic shape although the details of the geography are different. The length of a day and year are equal to that of terra due to the same work done at founding (this people must have really loved terra makes you wonder why they ever left).

you are currently where tasmania was

>take a book with you to read on the way back to your ship

History
>>
>>40919885
the history book is far less detailed then the geography book was most likely most of that knowledge has been long lost.

it seems the reason for the earth geography of the planet was because because it was founded by a rich eccentric obsessed with the 21st century of earth which he wanted to remake however he only knew the basic shape of the continent's with no idea of the details of the geography so he guessed, he was not a smart man though his guesses make no sense whatsoever.

After that there is little info apart from a few minor things such as disagrements over the ethics of keeping sea monsters in zoos or performing oversized cockfights with them and trade disputes with other nearby planets until recent history most notably it seems that this planet has historically hated paying there tithes forgeworlds dont have to pay tithes so that may help smooth over the population.

Read the final book.

On your way back to your ship you read the final tome

It seems that this planets sea is filled with all manner of beasts the main one being a huge kraken once used for blood sports those able to slay one have earnt great fame.

you arrive on the explorator ship what shall you do first
>arrange a meeting to talk about what to do once the Ecclesiarchy arrives
>arrange for the equipment at the lascannon factory to be upgraded so production can start
>arrange for timmy to be trained as a techpriest and bill to be turned into a skitari

Let us enlighten the population with the magnificence of the Omissiah first before we start converting them.
>>
>>40920284
you start to organize for construction to begin you anticipate it will take about a week as you are making preparations you are told that information has come in that the Ecclesiarchy will be here in aproxemently 10 days.

As the shuttles descend towards the planet filled with builders you move onto your next task

>arrange a meeting to talk about what to do once the Ecclesiarchy arrives
>arrange for timmy to be trained as a techpriest and bill to be turned into a skitari

What cybernetics do we have and what are we planning to get in the future
>>
>>40918857
Also what tech will this world specialise in?
>>
>>40920677
prettty much fully kitted out already we can always improve of course but we have pretty much everything already i might write up a full list though
>>40920711
that is not known yet its been set up in a hurry before the Ecclesiarchy arrives to fuck everything up
>>
How much resources do we actually have at our disposal? I mean, we have a ship, but we are acting like we don't? And what is the deal with the ecclesiarchs coming over, do we not already own this planet from the administratum? What about our parent forgeworld, what have they given us/will give us?

One tech priest cannot build a forge world alone... Actually now that I think about it, he can...
he can train other tech priests who will assist in the construction of the forge world.
So, recruitment for the cult should be at a priority... (like timmy, and any other child that shows talent)

Also, money makes the world go around.
we can neatly sidestep subverting the population which is a pitiful less than 1000 and will take too long to recover naturally, by simply outgrowing them. that is, we start out by gaining control of the economy by setting up factories which we own and thus control the means of production, most people will end up working for us (not via force, just via providing factories to work in), the profits from the sales of these factories products (the ones not producing an army for us that is) will provide us with ongoing wealth for step 2

For step 2, we can buy pop from pretty much any planet governor out there, so once we got enough money we set up seperate towns which are proper forge worlds and populate them entirely with imported personnel. Then its just a matter of importing enough pop to make the current existing pop an irrelevant minority, then absorb the original population economically

Alternatively, we come clean with the mayor and bribe him generously so he can go retire somewhere while selling us the planet.

But really, its all empty speculation without knowing what support we have.
