Sorry about the late start, had a bit of bad news, had to suss out how I plan to handle that. Kinda irritated, but shit happens, I guess.

Anyway. Just a reminder there's no thread the 14th, I'll be out of town that week and won't have time to set one up. Other than that, We'll probably have a bit of a delay between the OP and the first post by myself, I still haven't made dinner, haha, and the pantry is bare, so I've got to go get something to make. I don't even have ramen, it's that bad in here hahaha.

That's it for news, such as it is archive here:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Strike%20witches%201989

++

As you wake up, you're momentarily confused by the narrow confines in which you find yourself. The slight frame of a sleeping witch nuzzled in close to your chest doesn't surprise you, nor does the fact that your left arm, wrapped protectively around her, is asleep, a sure sign it's been that way most of the night.

You're careful not to stir too much as you open one eye up to look at the clock on the wall, barely able to make it out in the wan light of the early morning sun. Still, six is as good a time to get up as any, you think, though Stasya, here on the couch with you, might have other ideas. Of course, if she does, she'll never tell you.

You'd elected to move out here and make the master bedroom a touch less crowded early on in the night- it was clear that, while Katya was perfectly fine sleeping with you like no one else was there, Ice and Slider weren't quite so ready to embrace the whole polygamy thing just yet. You can't say you blame them- you're not sure you are, either. You'd just grabbed a blanket and a pillow and headed out here, hoping the three of them could comfortably share a bed. Given that the other couch is empty, you assume they did.

1/2
>>
Stasya had come out right before you'd fallen asleep, a blanket clutched in one hand as she padded over to the couch. She'd woken you up and said she'd had a bad dream, asking why you weren't in with the witches. You'd said it was too crowded, and she'd accepted that, asking if it was ok if she slept with you. You'd relented easily enough, wondering if, perhaps, you really were spoiling her a bit.

Still, it wasn't in you to say no. You know what nightmares are like, and they're never pleasant. At first, you thought she might have been using it as an excuse, but when she'd settled in against you, she felt clammy and cold- she'd been sweating, you guessed, and every now and then a tremble would shake her. She'd fallen back to sleep as soon as you'd pulled the blanket up, but it took a while for her to stop shuddering occasionally.

No one else in your suites seems to be up and moving yet, which is both good and bad. Good in the sense that you've got a few minutes of quiet, bad in that you can't really move without disturbing Stasya, and you'd really rather not do that, at least not for a couple more minutes. After the nightmare she must have had last night, you can't imagine she got that much sleep, and it's not like the couch is the most comfortable place to try and spend the night. You figure letting her sleep in for a while longer wouldn't hurt at all.

2/3 (oops)
>>
Then again, judging by her and Lilya's showing in the kitchen yesterday, maybe you could have her help you make breakfast? She doesn't seem to be too bad when she's closely supervised, and since it'd just be you and her, you feel you could handle it. Plus, she and her sister have both been very interested in cooking for whatever reason, so maybe some time with just the two of you would do her some good. If you both get up now, you could probably have it ready by the time anyone else woke up, which might make a nice enough surprise that the witches won't gripe about you sleeping out here. Maybe.

[] Get Stasya up and go make Breakfast, might as well get the day started.

[x] Get Stasya up and go make Breakfast, might as well get the day started.

You yawn and stretch carefully, trying not to disturb Stasya too much. Even though you plan to get up, you see no need to wake her just yet.

Still, she responds to your movement by mumbling something and hugging you a bit tighter, adjusting her face against your undershirt. You smile, putting one hand on the top of her head, and pat her back gently.

"Stasya. Stasya? hey, time to get up."

She mumbles something else and shifts again, in that half-sleep state just before you really wake up.

"Stasya, c'mon. We'll go make breakfast." You insist, not forcing the issue by moving.

But that's enough to get her moving. She half-rolls away, just enough to clear her face, and tilts her head up to look at you with sleepy eyes. "Breakfast?" She repeats, stifling a yawn.

"Yeah, c'mon. We'll have it ready for everyone when they wake up." You say.

She nods, yawning this time, and rolls over to sit up. You do the same once she's stood up and is watching you. You yawn and stretch and grimace at the series of pops that run their way down your back as you do- probably ought to have that looked at some day, but you're fine for now.

The two of you, still dressed in your pajamas, make your way to the suite's kitchen. While the house does usually put up a good breakfast, you're in the mood for something a bit more... continental, and you'd made sure to grab some bacon from Rusty the day before. Might as well use it up, you figure.

She follows you quietly into the kitchen, watching as you get everything out- milk, eggs, bacon. Bit of leftover ham you'll stick on a skillet real fast to heat up. A couple of leftover tomatoes- you're not actually sure where they came from, but you can cut them in half and grill them easily enough. Nothing really difficult.

1/3
>>
>>40931992
well can frank even handle three witches at once?

seems he can barely handle one when we saw the ice lewd
>>
You grab your apron and toss Stasya hers- the house had had some smaller plain white aprons available, and you'd gotten a couple as soon as you could for the girls. "How about we start with the eggs?" You ask her, guiding her over to the counter and getting a stool for her. She can see over it, of course, but not with enough space to really work.

"Ok, you know how to crack them?" You ask. She looks at you and shakes her head- odd, but then again, it's also possible she interpreted that as 'crack them and not set anything on fire'. You nod.

"Ok, grab an egg out of the container there and get that bowl." You say, keeping a close eye on her as she does so. "Now tap the egg against the edge of the bowl a bit until you hear it crack." She nods, tapping it against the bowl edge until she puts enough force behind it to crack it. "Good! Now get it like this-" You take her hands in yours and show her- "And stick your thumbs in there, then just pull it apart."

She follows your instructions perfectly, dropping the egg, yolk unbroken, into the bowl. She looks up at you, smiling. "Like that papa?"

"Just like that!" You affirm, nodding. "Can you do some more? about four or five?" You ask, thinking of making some omelettes. She nods and starts to crack eggs, still being deliberately careful with them. Well, given last night's excitement, you can't say you blame her.

You keep one eye on her while you warm up the stove and get out the pans you'll need- the most complicated thing you'll make is probably going to be those omelettes, but you do plan to cook a lot of food- there's a lot of people to feed.

2/3
>>
Combined, the two of you whip a pretty good sized- breakfast. Pancakes, a couple omelettes, some ham, Bacon and eggs. You even cut up some oranges, though they're kind of dry and flavorless, which is expected, to be fair. Fresh fruit doesn't have the same priority munitions has enjoyed the past year or two. There's still a few ships out there that run solo, but very few, and mostly in the southern oceans, you understand.

You're just brewing a pot of coffee when the door to your room opens and Slider wanders out, leaving it open behind her. "So that's where you went." She says to you, looking at the couch.

You nod. "You kept sticking your knees in the small of my back." You say. "Since when do you ball up to sleep?"

"Since forever." She responds. "And don't say what I know you're about to."

The retort that she didn't last time you slept together dies unvoiced- though your grin makes it clear what you were thinking.

"So you fixed breakfast?" She asks, rhetorically, before looking at Stasya. "He didn't give you too much trouble, did he?"

[x] Actually, we did real good. Is everyone else coming out soon?

"Actually, we did real good." You say, taking off your apron. Stasya follows suit a second later, and you take it from her, heading back into the kitchen to hang it on a peg in there. "Is everyone else coming out soon?"

She nods, sitting down next to your end of the table. "They should be out soon, yeah. Katya said she was going to pack your things, and Ice and I will help the girls. Won't take too long. We've got transport arranged for you all, Ice and me will be flying out separate."

"How about London?" You ask, sitting down at the table and looking towards the rooms as Ice comes out.

"Katya will room with me, Slider and the girls will room with you." She says. "And I've already contacted the Matron London, Wendy's got a spot down in the servant's quarters."

You open your mouth to protest and Ice nods. "I know, I know, but she asked for it. I said she'd be more than welcome to stay in my apartments there, but she insisted she'd rather stay downstairs. The rooms there aren't bad, you know. A bit cramped, maybe but-"

"But you know Frank's going to talk to her anyway." Slider says. "Don't know why you even bothered saying anything. Here, have some bacon."

Uh, Ghost? I think you completely forgot who was speaking in the last story post. In the previous one, it was Rachel who came in to speak to Frank, but in this one, it's Wendy who's talking to him, and third person references to both are made. Is this just an error, or is something weird going on?
>>
>>40936147
Oh wait, I just read it again and it makes sense. Nevermind.
>>
>>40936174

Yeah, it's a subject confusion. Theoretically speaking, it would actually be Stasya speaking, not Slider. It's awkward, but there's nothing we can do about it.
>>
>>40936218
No, no. I read it again, and realized I had completely misinterpreted it at first. First Rachel speaks, then Tabitha comes in and speaks when talking about room assignments, and Rachel tells Tabitha that Frank will discuss things with Wendy.
>>
>>40936267
You've re-read it right, but it is still also written confusingly.
>>
[x] If she's going to follow us, I don't want her thinking we want her acting like a servant.

You nod, agreeing with Slider, while you fork a pair of pancakes and some bacon onto Stasya's plate. She looks at you and then digs right in without waiting. That actually makes you smile a bit- both she and Lilya used to wait for everyone else to eat before they'd start.

"If she's going to follow us, I don't want her thinking we want her acting like a servant." You say, loading your own plate then setting it down. "I don't expect her to be part of our arrangement-"

"No way." Slider says, kind of quickly. "I'm going to have enough trouble explaining all this to my folks."

"Oh come on Raich. It isn't that bad." Ice says, poking her friend. "It's the same as having a pillow friend or two in school-"

"Can we not have this discussion in front of Stasya at the breakfast table, please?" You ask.

They both turn to grin at you, and for a second, you think of getting up with Stasya to go out to eat on the patio- it looks to be a fine morning out. But Ice nods quickly enough. "Alright, we'll wait to have this talk." She says.

"You know, I don't even have to be around when you have it." You say. "Does Katya plan to join us?"

"Changing the subject?" Slider asks.

"Yep. Does she?"

Ice shrugs. "I think so, she was getting dressed when I came out."

"I probably ought to go get Lilya and Anya up, then." You say, standing up and noticing Stasya does too.

[x] Go ahead and eat, Stasya, I'll get them.

You shake your head at her. "Go ahead and eat, Stasya, I'll get them." You say. She looks at you for a second, then nods.

"Ok papa." She says simply, before going back to cleaning up her plate. Must have been hungry, you think- though can't imagine why she would be, she ate a lot at dinner the night before as well.

You crack the door open gently, trying not to wake either Lilya or Anya, both of whom are in their bed.

Well, sort of. There'd been only two beds in the room, and Anya, as the oldest among them, had claimed one for herself. Not that Stasya or Lilya had seemed to mind, and had slept in the same bed without complaint. Lilya must have moved over to Anya's bed sometime in the night, probably after Stasya had come out with you, the two of them are curled together, sleeping peacefully.

You wake them both up gently, shaking Lilya awake first, then getting Anya up. "Girls, breakfast time." You tell them, keeping your voice light.

Lilya wakes up first, yawning and stretching and looking at you for a second before holding her arms out to be picked up. You smile down at her. "A bit spoiled, isn't that?" You ask.

She doesn't respond and you laugh, picking her up anyway. "Papa, I think something's wrong with Anya." She says, once you've done so.

>>
"What?"

"She's too hot."

Proving that your mom's teachings weren't in vain, you reach over with your free hand to place it against Anya's forehead- she's burning up.

"Lilya, go get Ice." You order, setting her down while you kneel down next to the bed. "Anya?"

Her eyes swim open, blearly, then shoot open when they see you and she jerks back. "N-nooo" She whispers, her eyes unfocused.

Ice steps in while you're trying to calm the girl down, followed by Katya. "Frank, what-"

"She's hallucinating." You say, finally getting hold of the witch. "And burning up."

"Let me." Katya says, sitting down on the bed next to you and taking Anya. She's too big for this, of course, probably having grown out of laps before she was- well. Before she was who she is now. Katya begins speaking to her- in Russian.

She seems to calm down at that. You look up to see Stasya and Lilya crowding around the door, staying just outside with Slider.

So....some easy predictions on the ongoing Daughteru war...

Last time... Janice and Nungesser are revealed to be pregnant (assuming both are daughters)

Today will end with Ice, Slider and Katya pregnant too.

Then Merc will amp it up! Janice will have triplets!

Then Ghost will escalate, somehow, not naming names, Birgitte and Konny will also be pregnant. With twins.

Merc: So is Red and Tarin. Lewdfics are somehow canon.

Off in the distance, Jake rescues and adopts an entire orphanage in the Middle East.

[x] Call them in, maybe they can help.

"Girls? you want to come in and sit with us?" You call. They both enter without saying a word, sitting on either side of you and Katya, though Stasya, next to you, takes no time in worming her way onto your lap.

Their presence seems to calm Anya down enough to respond to Katya, though her voice is weak. You wait for Katya to look back up at you before talking.

"What's wrong?" you ask. She sighs.

"I do not know." She says, sounding defeated. "She believes she is back in Semipalatinsk-" Both Stasya and Lilya pale at this, though Katya seems not to notice. "And that we are her caretakers. She only says she is ill, but she does not know why."

You nod, reaching over to put a hand on the girl's shoulder. Even there, she's burning up, her fever probably dangerously high. "We'll have to get her to a hospital-"

"Where?" Katya asks. "There are none in the city that could take her with her past and implants." She says.

"What about the team assigned to mind Frank and Merlin?" Ice asks. "They're on call, wouldn't take them long to get here."

"Either that or london." You say, thinking. "Can't you keep her fever down?"

"Only just." Ice says. "And not much better than anyone else could."

You nod. "Fine. We call up Doc Reed and Doc Akagi and have them meet us with a team in London. If it is her implant, they can get it out."

"You sure that's a good idea, Frank?" Slider asks. "Hers might be different, and if it is-"

"They're still the best two we know." You point out. "Even if her implant isn't the same as the ones Stasya and Lilya had."

"It's your decision, Frank." Ice says. "We can try to get her to a hospital in the city, or we can call in your support team. Or we can set something up for London."

"Call the support team in." You say to Ice, who nods. "I'll get on the horn with the docs and- shit what time is it in cali right now anyway?"

"Bout twenty one." Ice says, getting up. "Better use their home phones."

You have to wait for Ice to get off the phone to use it- she just nods at you when you pick up the handset. "They're on the way, Frank, but it'll be an hour or two."

You nod as she walks away, punching in the first number on your card- Dr. Reed's home number. You don't get an answer, not even a machine, and hang up eventually, instead trying her office.

She picks up almost immediately. "Dr. Reeds office. This is Dr. Reed." She says.

"Dr. Reed."

"Mr. Bishop!" She responds, sounding surprised. "I'll admit I hadn't expected to hear from you."

"I didn't expect to have to call." You respond. "But I've got a problem." You quickly explain what's going on, and the steps you've taken.

She waits until you're done before talking. "Ok, it sounds like it could either be a chemical withdrawal or an infection in through that soviet hardware. I'll get Ritsu up here and we'll get a new set sent down to us. Can you meet us here? We'll need a couple of days to stage this anywhere else."

"I don't know if she has a couple of days." You respond, looking back over your shoulder at the room.

"It'll have to be San Diego if it's anywhere, then." She says. "We can have her in surgery just as soon as you're off the plane, if you get her here."

"What about the support team?" You ask. "Maybe they can help her."

"Maybe, but they're not really supposed to do anything other than get you stable to get you back here anyway," She says, sounding distracted. "Listen, if it is her implants, the best thing they're going to be able to do is shoot her full of antibiotics and let a heal witch go over her, then get her on the first plane here. And if she's got an infection bad enough that she's running a high fever and hallucinating, that might not do her much good."

"So we need to move fast."

"Assuming it's an infection in her VDNI port, yes." She says. "Did you actually look at the port? did the flesh around it look inflamed?"

"No, i didn't." You say.

She sighs. "Figures. Ok, I'm going to call Ritsu and start prepping for an implant here. Give me a call as soon as the support team tells you what's going on."

"Call as soon as the support team reports, got it." You say, repeating the order back- she hangs up as soon as you do.

"Frank?" Slider asks, from behind you. "What's the plan?"

"They're setting up a operation theater in San Diego." You respond. "The docs think it's an infection in her VDNI implant, the shit eating Soviet that designed them wasn't thinking that an open air port to the top of the spinal column might be a problem."

She nods, and you continue. "As soon as the support team gets here, I've got to call her back to let her know if we're on the way or not."

>>
"You'll send her alone?" Slider asks.

"Hadn't planned on it."

"Then you'll need to call Nixon." She says. "We're cleared for London and most of Britain and France, but there's no way you can get to the states even if Ice approves it." She looks back over at the girl's room and then back to you. "If you're planning on going, call Nixon now. You know he's in his office first thing, and if he's out of it, you don't know if you'll be able to get him."

"Yeah but-" You start to protest.

"But nothing. If it is an infection, you're right, you'll need to go." She says. "Unless you plan to just send Katya back, but even then, she'll have a lot of explaining to do if it is just her. If you plan to go, you need to call. now."

[x] "You're right." (Call Nixon now.)

You nod. "Yeah, you're right. She's my ward, my responsibility."

"Get on the phone, then." She says. "I'll ask Katya about moving her out here to the couch, it's too stuffy in there."

You punch in the number for Nixon's office- and get one of his secretaries. After introducing yourself, you're immediately transferred over to his phone.

"This is Nixon." He says, apparently without being told who was on the line for him.

"Admiral, it's-"

"Lieutenant commander Bishop. What's going on, son?" He says, sounding slightly worried. "What's happened?"

"It's one of the girls, sir." You say. "Anya, the new one. She's pretty sick, we don't know why. We've got docs on the way, but Dr. Reed, the one that did my implants, thinks it might be an infection in Anya's implants, and thinks we need to get them out of there."

You can practically hear him thinking. "So do it, son. You can handle this, right?"

"Yessir, and I already have it arranged. But we'll have to go to San Diego to do it-"

"I don't see the problem here." Nixon responds. "Your unit is headed out for R&R now, right?"

"Yessir, but we're supposed to stay in the UK or France-"

"Consider the restriction lifted." He says, immediately. "Look son, I'm glad you called, but when it comes to the well being of your wards, any of them, do what you need to first, then give me a call. Give me a ring if you end up stateside, otherwise take care of business, alright? Get whatever you need to do it, and do it."

Desserts are supposed to be cold.
>>
"Yes, sir." You say, kind of surprised- you're being given a lot of rope here.

"Good. Alright, son, was that it?" He asks. "Lot of things I have to do today."

"That was it, sir. and thanks."

"Anytime. Take care." He hangs up the phone, the light click punctuating his sentence.

You end up sniping food from the still uncleared table- all of you do, though Anya is pretty out of it, even with someone sitting there on the couch with her. Her head is burning up- you wished you had a simple thermometer, but you don't, at least not here. Still, it's clear she's in bad shape, in and out of consciousness the whole agonizing hour and a half while you wait for the docs of the support team to show up.

When they do, you're sitting with her, Katya having gone in to pack. Slider gets the door and lets them in- they hurry over and quickly move you out of their way.

It doesn't take long for them to reach their verdict- catastrophic infection in and around her VDNI implant. They've got no idea how long it's been festering, but it's clear that it's not recent by any means- you're not sure how it got past the docs that did her examination when she was captured, but it appears to have.

While that leaves you with the problem of handling transport, you've apparently got a blank check there, so you're pretty sure it won't be hard to manage.

You really hope it's a short trip though, you'd like to spend some time relaxing somewhere for a change.

And that's it for the night! Sorry about the run today guys, I've really kinda got a lot on my mind. No one died or anything, no one's sick, nothing like that. Just... free loading family that could possibly be into things that may get my computer taken as evidence because he'll be living in the same house as me, if you catch my meaning.

We'll *probably* run on the 7th, the thing is, I plan to get a sterile laptop with nothing on it that, should the worst come to pass and my shit gets taken as evidence against him, I lose nothing. I'm really glad I keep 89 on a geek stick, haha!

Anyway, gents, that's all for tonight. I'd have run much faster normally, but, like I said, other concerns. Sorry for that, hopefully next run will be somewhat quicker.

Keep an eye on twitter either way, I'll try and keep you guys up to date with it. But till then, guys, I hope you had fun even with the crappy run, and I'll catch you next week. Maybe. Till then though, gents, Cheers!

Second half of the Davis Omake:

“You didn’t listen did you?” Ice seemed...resigned. Like she’d seen someone do something like this before. “Who’d you end up talking too?”

“Matron Longstreet. I’d hoped that coming forward with evidence of records being manipulated would get her to at least look but…”

“It seemed to make her uncomfortable?” So she knew Longstreet was involved with my situation ahead of time. Knows why all this happened.

“Yes… for a given definition of uncomfortable. She was aggressive, said ‘Just take this. It will make you. If you can deal with any interpersonal issues that arise, you will have an excellent service record, position in the coven, whatever you might want. Just follow what’s been laid out. This is bigger than you, bigger than me. This situation is complicated, with more on the line than you know.’”

“That sounds like her.”

“You have personal experience.”

“Yes.” A similar confrontation, then. I get the feeling it didn’t end in Longstreet’s favor, she tense, angry, but also ready. Feels ready, like she wo once and can win again, but how? Some sort of help? “What did you do after that?’

“I decided that if I was in for an inch, I was in for a mile and made play. Hoped I could gain enough ground for more of an explanation. I did.”

“Wha- how!? I needed backing from a carrier captain and the Matron London to get what I wanted from her!”

“I guessed you had had help, but you had your carrier’s captain come to bat for you? Dang, that must have smarted for Longstreet, and an English matron? That must have smarted more.”

“Not an english matron, the head of all Her Majesty’s Witches. And you got her alone, how’d that work?”

“I’m good at reading people. Figuring out what they know from reactions, using logic to figure out their angles, seeing how people work, and leveraging that. I think people are interesting, I wanted to go to university for psychology.”

“That’s… a bit of a surprise honestly. You didn’t seem the type, though it does explain some of the things you seem to know.”

“What? the beach bunny can’t spend her time people watching? Beach is a great place for it.”

“True, but carry on. Truthfully, I look forward to hearing this.”

“Okay, so the first thing I needed to do was knock her off balance, get her emotional enough to lose control, but not so emotional she would kick me out. So I made an off hand suggestion that would light her up. I said I didn’t really care about the covens. That none of it mattered to me, after all, I was going home to become a psych student.”

“You know how much she cares about coven politics?”
“I had guessed. She’s not exactly a subtle woman when it comes to her politics. County and coven first. And she wants there to be one coven. Knowing that helped too.”
“Anyway, that got her going, saying how I should ‘Respect your sisters’ and ‘remember what we can do for each other’. It kinda pissed me off, because… i’m not a part of that system. And I said that. Said i’d walk away into a normal job after the war and never look back.”

“Will you?”

“Maybe. It would be easy. And really? When I look at what I want in life, it’s all on me, me and my abilities, they really have nothing to offer. But anyway, it worked to disbalance her. I was moving fast, hoping she would mess up.”
>>
>>40940690

Oh, absolutely. My computer already is, the laptop will be as soon as I get it. The Wifi is a bit harder, since it's built into the modem, but I'll just mark out the password sticker on the bottom and hide the backup sticker somewhere. I mean, I pay for the internet, it's mine, and I plan to keep it that fucking way.
>>
“But it also made her angry.”

“And that was kinda the idea, from her reactions, I figured she’d never answer me outright if I just asked, so I needed to provoke her, as dangerous as that seems.”

“She could ruin you.”

“Only as a witch. I was enrolled in university already, and my spot was guaranteed because I had left for the military. And like I said, I didn’t need witch help, and what else could she do? Pass around I was a mouthy cadet? No one who would matter to my future would care. Not like she had the evidence to discharge me either.”

“I guess, but you may underestimate the dangers of politics.”

“Maybe, but I got her to fuck herself with hers.”

“I didn’t think you would be that vulgar.”

“Eh. It felt warranted. But it is true. After I got her off balance just a bit, I brought up her United coven idea. I had a friend I got close to at Annapolis, we ended up together most of the time. Macha. She was a Sioux indian, had joined up for basically the same reason I did, and we hit it off. She cared alot about witch politics, but it was more present for her. The indian covens are small, ya know? And they had to fight so hard to preserve their identities and traditions. She had a lot to say about covens in general, and I kinda picked up her opinions. They hit Longstreet with them. I said the idea was hopeless, that small covens like the native and bayou covens would fight tooth and nail against it, and that sectional grudges were still too strong.”

“That would really set her off.”
>>
“It did. She did the standard rant, about how I was ignorant, and how this was the best way to compete on the world stage. Then she slipped up said ‘if everyone had just let me get to Wells there would have been enough power that refusing to join a united coven wouldn’t be an option’.
Then I jumped on her again, figured out that I was being set up and sent out to force someone to be removed from their posting and sent back to where she could get their hands on them. It followed that she had tried before and failed, and that she had failed this time too, because something had happened again to set her off just as I got there, and then I called her out myself. I threw it in her face that she’d lost.”

“I’m sure she took that so well.”

“Speechless. I think it had been a long time since someone got to her like that. And it was an academy student with cribbed political knowledge. So I left my opinion on the whole thing and walked out.”

“What did you tell her?”

“Maybe if you could look past the big picture, you could consider the consequences of what you want. You’re gonna hurt a lot of people trying to do this, especially people like this Wells. You think this will help people? Then consider the consequences to the people you use to get there. At the end, will all the conflict what you want will cause, is it really worth it to try now?”
>>
“Damn. What did she do?’

“Nothing, surprisingly. I got sent here, and never heard a word out of her again. And Wells is still here, so that says something.”

“So you figured the whole thing out. You are good at this.”

“As far as I can tell, everything turned out okay. You kept Merlin, I got my answers.”

“Longstreet got knocked down a peg.”

“That too. Oh! Heard the gossip about her?”

“No, what?”

“She’s no longer at Annapolis. That timing… I have a feeling someone may have heard some of our little discussion, maybe made use of it?”

“How so?”

“I was paraphrasing, but she got loud. I guess it would look bad, if you didn’t know I kinda provoked her. Or even if you did, I guess.”

“I still have trouble believing that paid off. But this unit certainly doesn’t lack boldness, so I have no place to talk.”

“I guess. And...thanks. You could have tried to pay this down, but you didn’t. Getting some honesty was nice.”

“Your welcome, though knowing more about you I doubt you would have walked away without what you wanted anyway.”

“Thank you. Guess i’ll go suit up, got a flight soon.”

“Goodbye. I hope we can talk again, though with a less intense topic.”

“ Me too.”

And that's that. Not totally happy, but I wanted to expand Davis's character some. I was a little sad when she just disappeared. I Might write something else with more of a world building focus, but that is pending a talk with Ghostdivision.
>>
>>40940778
Nice, Anon. You've made Daivs quite competent and likeable. It's a shame she fell by the wayside.

>>
>>40940778
well i'm enjoying this.
Giving new perspective on otherwise neglected character.
>>
>>40940880
That was the intent. Oddly though, this started as more world building than anything else, then became more centered on the character. It was fun.
>>
So yeah about an earlier question that was brought up this thread.

It mention that Ice and Slider wanted to talk to Frank about their arrangement which I was kind of confused since Ice, Slider and Katya already discussed this.
>>
>>40940913
Say, do you remember which thread Longstreet got axed from Annapolis?
>>
>>40940944
The girls have discussed it amongst themselves, but not so much with Frank himself.
>>
>>40941082
I don't think it was mentioned specifically, but when she showed up in Crete, I assumed it had been a bit before that. Doubtful she could keep her job and be part of Nixon's staff.
>>
>>40941082
Not really, they never really said I had assumed it was after Frank helping Bridgette but their were rumors at least about her positioning in that coven due to her screw up with Frank and Merlin among other things.
>>
>>40941090
So else is there to discuss about is what leaves me wondering?
>>
>>40941170
From what I read, they want to establish how/what they're going to tell people about their arrangement - notably their various parents.

Since Frank has parents, that's something they'll need his input on.
>>
>>40941222
I think Katya mom doesn't care, Ice has kind of separated from her mother due to her joining the Navy, though Slider and Frank.

This should be interesting to see,
>>
>>40941241
I think Katya's mom just has bigger things to worry about than the fact that her daughter has a boyfriend, two girlfriends, and three daughters.

Which really highlights how fucked things are in Russia right now, i'd say.
>>
>>40941257
If anything, she probably cares significantly less for her daughter for having decided to abandon Russia for ultimately petty reasons, if feelthys snippets are anything to go by.
>>
>>40941241
Slider's family is going to be the hardest sell; since by all accounts they're the normalest normals that ever normed.

Fronk's parents have probably seen enough shit in their time that they'll be able to handle it.

Especially since their daughter is dating a Japanese Princess, their other adult son is dating a slightly yandere specops witch, and the other one has vanished off the face of the earth for quite some time.
>>
>>40941257
>>40941278
Well remembering how Katya was born off a drunken one night stand but doesn't regret giving birth to her, I just imagine that if she;'s happy now then don't sweat the small stuff.
>>
>>40941299
Not to mention the other adult son is kind of estranged from the family due to his choice in military career.

Also you forget the Japanese admirer to the yandere specops witch

>"I wouldn't object to that though." Euclid grumbles.

>You shoot a glare at her, but she just shrugs.

Slider's dad just nods and goes back to his crossword until it hits him.

"Did you say that those two ladies are your wives?"

"Uh, yeah," Slider looks a bit confused as to why it took her old man a full two minutes to get that wrapped around his head.

Maybe it sounded like a prank in his mind.

He peered at the six of them over the top of his newspaper, then turned his attention back to Slider.

"Are you completely serious, Rachel Kerner?"

"Yes dad, I am."

He shrugs and returns to his crossword. "Just be careful, but with two other wives and a husband looking after you..." he flicked his eyes to Frank, "you seem to be in capable hands."

Meanwhile, her mother is fainting at the possibilities for endless grandchildren.

>Note, this could easily end up being the Bishop clan's reaction to it.

Well... crap.
