You are Sol Prementus, a being of godlike power. Long ago you distinguished yourself from the mortals you rule over through both action and word. You have united the six remaining great hive cities, set up a new and efficient government, and made the ruthless individualistic culture of Kilionos from one of ruin and savagery to one of progress and unity. People must earn their place, starting with a mandatory two to six years of military service depending on the current circumstances, and then with them moving up in the government through their own skill. This has inspired the people to be both unified and individuals, never sacrificing one for the other. In the end though, you are the one true ruler, who handles the most important affairs amongst Kilionos people. Less than a year ago you freed the world entirely from the vile orks, removing them entirely from the world and its moon. Such a thing was hailed as the greatest moment in this planets sad history, and an event of such significance most likely wont come around for another century or so.
You have wined and dined with the populace, in "The Time of The Sun", a rare event when the full majesty of it can be viewed unobscured by smog and smoke. Even you shed a tear when you gazed it's glory.

Yet for all of this, you feel as well as you know this is not humanity's birthplace, though home it may be. You know there must be more of your people elsewhere, this truth is evident in every part of the world, from the architecture to the pains and hopes of the children. You know there must be more out there that still bear the scars of dark times, just as your people have for so long and still do. And thus you make ready to take the plunge into the abyss, into a world where there is only war. 1/2

The war you fought with the orks was rough and caused many casualties to your army, but has provided valuable insight. You’ll need a bigger army. You have produced a system that takes in normal men and women from all across the crescent, and produces character, resolve, and most importantly, soldiers. You’ve united these people. You have produced a vast fleet of mighty warships to beat your enemies into submission. You have a mighty industrial base and economy that is thriving off of making products for the unknown wars that loom beyond the horizon. The people are getting a bit restless, uneased, even bloodthirsty. They are more than ready to lay down their lives for the glory of their hives and world. But that’s the problem. You know that the wars that lurk beyond the stars are massive in scale. Half of the planet missing is evidence enough. And the wars you must fight cannot be one by men alone. You’ll need a weapon that will turn the worldwide brawls into something a bit more manageable. And so you gather the crescent’s brightest minds, generals, economists, scientists, engineers, even a few theoretical physicists and astrologists, in your private echelon to develop a weapon or strategy that will win the long war.

Pick two

>Tanks. Planes. Convoys. Artillery. We’ve seen them all from the orks, and we need much, MUCH more if we’re going to win this. For every 40 men I want a tank. For every company I want 10 jets ready to send the enemy crying home to their mommas. I want to shell them back to the hole they crawled from. Supply lines can and will be a bitch sometimes, but a well placed airstrike or tank can do absolute miracles. (Supplies lines are very vulnerable however, if you don’t have a safe zone on the planet already you might have lost the war before it began. Heavy human presence beforehand on a planet helps)
>Gas. Chemical weapons. Biological attack. We’ve seen how effective these things can be against the enemy, but haven’t employed them in large numbers yet. The green hordes will very soon become yellow hordes with some good artillery or weapons made just for this. We’ll need some more CBRN troops for this, which means troops are a bit better trained in general, but not much. It endangers troops a bit more, if you think the enemy isn’t more dangerous than those giant apes, but I’m telling you sir, there isn’t a greater weapon that can be used against the greenskins than mustard gas. (Kills most life around the area for some time, depending on strength used. Not as effective against high-tech foes, makes middle-tech foes’ economies strained a hell of a lot, primitives are dead. Good for getting rid of spores. Bad for flowerbeds. Also bad for damaged hazmat equipment.)

You hear out the words of every gifted mind in almost every field echoing in the ominous oval room, along with the faint buzzing of the white noise emitters. You take particular notice when the general mentions research being done into project SIGIL, a training regimen meant to cause temporary amnesia in a subject, keeping higher brain functions but instilling child-like aptitude, eagerness, and ability to learn. It’s interesting, if a bit morally concerning, but that’s not what grabs your attention. What grabs your attention is the marksmanship & CQC scores each soldier got. Hardly 20 bullets missed in 600 rounds for each subject at 500 meters, with the lowest score at 32 in 600. The moving target scores were almost identical, which is almost unheard of. And the CQC fights between two participants of the program usually lasted almost 2 hours before the doctors called time out.
“General, with all respect intact, how can I be certain these scores were not falsified? Project sigil had no signs of increasing muscle memory or anything that would suggest this increase in prowess.”
The old man gives a toothy grin with a couple teeth missing. “Ah, but m’lord, it’s being done a bit diff’rent this time. This time around we have them taking phyrenol mirexis, a speshal somethin’ somethin’ that makes all their anger an’ memories an’ those things being done in their sleep. We do that without our training, they have nightmares, we do it with it, they fight without ‘esitation. Like they ain’t sure whether they’re havin’ a dream or not. Makes for good soldiers, in either case.”

Your concern grows with every word. “Send a pic-feed of the course to me in the morning. I want to see the training in action.” As worrying as it is, right now you’re preparing for a whole lot more than something a few men can do.

The engineers and generals are both agreeing on an issue, which is surprising, and they press a button on their table to request your ear. “M’lord, we’re developing some new machines, and we think you’ll like them an awful lot. We’ve come up with some fancy eye-in-the-sky vehicles, they can provide a platform for both, recon devices, and some support weaponry. We’ll need some more funding, but so far we’re coming along development without a hitch. We’re workin’ on some armored vehicles too, the boys at Marlyn base really like driving the things. And shooting ‘em, too. We uh… don’t quite have all the adamantium we want for all our tanks, but the boys have come about with a workaround. Static armor. It’s a bit complicated, but I’ll make it quick. Turns out that if we put some electro-reactive metals and transistors on the outside, not only will it block most las-weapons, but the atoms grow stronger bonds from the impact, AT the impact. It’s early stuff, we’re only testing it right now, but so far it shows promise. In fact, we brought in a sample for you. It should be here right about…”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nyikyMD5L0
An alarm goes off, and you hear a man screaming. You’re the first out of your chair and out the door, a man is running around screaming, a heavy-looking jacket in flames around his chest, as he tries to unbuckle it. The engineer is close behind you, and you both stare as he gets hosed down by security.
“…It’s still in the testing phases. I guess something about white noise makes it combust.”
“…Will I still get that funding sir?”
You rub your temples and sigh. Yes, you tell him, he will have funding.

It is a new era. For as long as man has stood upright, he has gazed towards the heavens for guidance. Being the most noble of creatures, he has always been thankful for the sun, and abhorred the endless darkness. But Humanity is never without her defenses. To combat this unsympathetic and forsaken time of day when all will is cold and familiar places become not so, man had created fire. With fire, man had a burning light through even the darkest of times, and all feared it’s righteousness.

Today, you are going through a scenario much like that time so long ago. You have flung a fire into the darkest abyss known. You have flung many, in fact. The roars of engines are felt throughout your body as you rise through Kilionos’ atmosphere at an ever-increasing speed, the mighty g-forces of your craft almost send you crashing to the deck of your ship, but you will yourself to stand up to see all the other crafts rising through the air. Not all are rising at once. Some soldiers still down there, almost like ants at this height, are marching into the mighty vessels, and you smile, knowing this moment is being seen by every man, woman, and child on Kilionos, fueling the fires of their souls with dreams and resolve. It was ten hard years of constant, often thankless work. But this, this moment made it all worth it. To see the effort and screaming victory that rips endlessly through the throats of the righteous, your people, is a sight greater than millions of sunrises. You cry in happiness. The last transport takes off, the cheeky man at the back of the line smiles and waves goodbye to the crowd, and laughs echo through the skies. As the rumbling begins to halt, you give your order again for the pilots of your fleet.

“Set a course for Victorie-1. Full speed ahead.”

The pilots pop champagne, and get much of it on the floor of your flag ship. And you couldn’t be happier.

Depends on what wiki we're talking about here, but yeah, I could maybe make one. I do not own a twatter but I shall make one very soon, and it might be on sunday or wednesday, depending. Certainly not tomorrow, I have patriotic duties then.

Do you want me to archive this thread or were you going to?

I have no idea on how to do so. I'll teach myself how, but if you could do that for me this time around that would be super.

And sure, I'll make a 1d4chan page for it. Won't have as much exaggeration as the other pages, but sure, I'll do it.

the real question is how much of the planets population was left behind.

There was about 300 million people on the planet. You took ~10 million, I'd say. Some people got really pissed that their sons or husbands or wives got volunteered for war, but most were happy that their life is finally getting on track, and they don't have to deal with orks butchering all their friends and family. As for how many of the vehicles we took? ...Well, walkers are compact I guess, so about a good 200,000 or so. Then you got the tanks, which you took about 70,000 of, and you got a hefty 43,000 fighter planes, 2,000 supply/support planes, and about 4,000 vtols/helicopters. You have 140,000 artillery pieces, but they're all disassembled to help with storage.
It sounds like a lot, but make no mistake, you will need every bit of these assets. World war 2 had much more losses involved, and you will be taking a world. Maybe the circumstances are different, but you're still trying to take a planet.

It will take a good month or so to unload everything and get it running. So keep that in mind.
