Sorry about being late. Time to start!
Defence: 50
Influence: 57
Lands: 24
Law: 18
Population: 18
Wealth: 25
On your lands in The Vale you have some mountains, a stretch of the coast, some small woods, a hamlet around a stream. Your forces consist of elite personal guard, veteran infantry and guerrillas and a trained garrison. You have a port and mine of precious gems.
That was all that got done yesterday because I started late and passed out. I forgot to ask to have it archived solid someone has the info from that three let me know and I'll change anything as I tried to remember it correctly.
>>
Need to work on the heir and former Lord give them names and stats. If anyone is interested I could run a quest about them but be warned I suck so it will probably take a while to do anything.

I'd play a quest. But what do we have to do to get the heir?

Also, a map for deciding where our land is.
>>
>>41031594
West side of the bay between Redfort and Gulltown sound good?
>>
>>41031594
I'd say in between Iron Oaks and Old Anchor. To work in the Heir we need his age first. Likely going to be a young adult since he went to fight in the rebellion of King Robert. Though that is up to you guys.
>>
>>41031661
Is that still in the Mountains of the Moon?
>>
>>41031036
I think those troops are wrong.

Should be trained archers instead of veteran guerillas
>>
This actually looks interesting, but I don't know what system this, is. If someone could tell me the name, it wold be appreciated.
>>
>>41031720
You are correct sir. I don't know where I got that idea from.
>>
>>41031905
It's the a song of ice and fire rpg from George martins series of books.
>>
>>41031929
Thank you
>>
>>41031664
>young adult
>Robert's Rebellion

Who's king right now?
>>
>>41031953
Robert. It'd only be a few months after he rebelled because of Lyanna Stark's kidnapping and became King. If I remember correctly it's called Robert's Rebellion.
>>
>>41031996
Alright, so let's make him a stereotypical fit, young man. A competent archer, perhaps?
>>
Since no one has really responded to an age for the Heir Pallbrim need a consensus now about him being a young adult or just plain adult. Young adults are between 14 and 18 years old and adults are between 19 and 30 years old. Don't worry about actually deciding everything. I'll come up with a set that comes about after some consensus about what he does.
>>
>>41032158
Adult I say, if his father is so old
>>
>>41032158
Adult, then.
>>
As it seems not many are around we are going with an adult. Roll me a 2d6 for status real quick. Any preference on what he's good with like the one anon suggested with a bow? Would be fight with a short or long sword? Did he fall for enemy feints and counters or did he out maneuver the enemy? Is he socially capable or a walking wall?
>>
Rolled 3, 5 = 8 (2d6)

>>41032463
I'd like to build him around being a horse warrior with bow and lance rather than a sword.
>>
>>41032603
Stating out with 4 for status. That will change later though.
>>
>>41032463
I'd like to see him using a longaxe. As for social, I aimgine he's more of a fighter than a social butterfly
>>
>>41032603
>horse-riding archer
Filthy Dothraki horse-fucker detected.
>>
>>41032734
Whatever works. Although, since we live in a mountainous area, I am willing to settle for just a foot archer.
>>
>>41032818
Bow for ranged, longaxe for melee then?
>>
While your discussing roll me 2d6 for goals, motivations, virtues and vices each please.
>>
Rolled 3, 6 = 9 (2d6)

>>41032891

>>41032841
I suppose
>>
>>41032841
Sure. Always has at least 2 daggers as well, just in case
>>
So apparently Revenge is a goal for the Heir whose placeholder name is Jon until voted for. Need three more rolls.
>>
>>41033064
Grimbold for name
>>
Rolled 2, 5, 3, 6, 1, 1 = 18 (6d6)

>>41033064

>>41033083
Let's try something not from Lord of the Rings. How about Ramien?
>>
>>41033182
Ramien doesn't sound Westerosi, whereas Grimbold at least does.

What about Theodan? It's a Westerosi name
>>
So Hatred as a motivation. Magnanimous as a virtue. Arrogant as a vice. Sounds like a regular noble don't he?
So going with long axe and bows for weapons? Not quite that charming. How did he do in the rebellions? Did he lose most troops in a few engagements by playing into the enemies hands or did he make them dance to his tune?
>>
>>41033307
What about neither? He just fought under the command of Arryn and won through sheer grit. A few minor victories here and there through superior planning would be alright, but the majority were mainly him holding the line for Arryn's forces
>>
>>41033401
It was more of an option to get people talking and discussing. All of it will help determine his attributes. So if they outmaneuvered him he'd be a bit dull and not know how to command his troops whereas if he did that to them he'd be quite bright and have excellent command of his troops.
>>
>>41033307
Heh, I'm liking this character already. I'd prefer a flail instead as Bludgeons have the only one handed Powerful weapon, meaning we can switch to using a shield and still do lots of damage.

As for names, don't really care about the suggested choices so long as we change Ramien's spelling to Raemion, since it sounds Valyrian to me.
>>
>>41033463
I'm also fine with him being more of a commander of men rather than a tactical genius.
>>
>>41033811
>since it sounds Valyrian to me.

We're of an old Andal house.
>>
>>41033928
We can still have a Valyrian name, in honor of some maternal ancestor or friend of the family.
>>
>>41033845
I'd be comfortable barely focusing on leadership with this guy. I'm actually cool with just being a high-level hybrid archer.
>>
All right time for a proper vote for name. Just the number please

Calling it for Raemon Pallbrim. Working in his skills and shit so may not be around for a while. Discuss ideas for a hiuse crest, did Raemon find a wife before leaving, on the road or after?
>>
>>41034413
>>41034413
Long axe anon from earlier. I'm also fine with a flail, a halberd, pole axe or a boar spear. I just want a big two handed weapon to fuck people up with that isn't a sword
>>
>>41034906
>Wife

Might as well marry us off to a good rich Reach or Westerland woman so we can reap the benefits from the connection.

>Crest
Something combining the sea and the mountains. Perhaps a purple mountain over a white wave, on a field of blue. Very Vale-y.
>>
>>41034906
>>41034906
After probably, since our star started rising after the war.

As for crest, needs to be tied to our words. Maybe a grey shield with twin axes crossed behind on a red field?
>>
>>41034413
1
>>
>>41035004
What about a Royce, for that homefield political alliance? If we go Westerlands, a Crakehall, Marbrand, or Lefford would be good. If we go Reach, a Bulwer or Oakheart bride would be good
>>
>>41035074
Why not a Crane? Lot of good fighters in house Crane.
>>
>>41034413
2
>>
>>41035113
Just suggesting names. I'm personally partial to marrying in the Vale, as that makes our ally more relevant if we need help.

I'd suggest somebody else besides the Royce's, but I'm drawing a blank on relevant powerful Vale families.
>>
>>41035346
From what I remember, Belmore and Waynwood seem at least pretty powerful. Corbray is poor but boasts a great history and valyrian steel sword. I would assume Grafton is at least wealth. I don't feel like we get enough information about the vale houses.
>>
>>41035346
If so, then we should wait for our official spot on the map, so we can marry a nearby house.
>>
>>41035470
Gonna second this anon. I'll laugh though if we end up on the Fingers next to Baelish
>>
>>41035531
I'd still rather marry a rich girl.
>>
>>41035531
>>41035559
Lets go for rich and nearby.
>>
>>41035559
Good dowry but a House that can't help us when we need it isn't useful. I'd rather settle for a decent dowry but solid political connections and a military ally.
>>
>>41035646
>>41035646
Of course, this is fine too.
>>
All right here's what I'm thinking of for safe for Raemon.
Fighting 4 Marksmenship 3 Endurance 4 Agility 3 Athletics 4 Awareness 3 Cunning 3 Animal Handling 3 Healing 3 Warfare 3 Will 3
The reason for high fighting stats are simple. He fought a shit ton. Average is 2 in any stat.
>>
>>41036311
Are we speccing into axes or bludgeons for fighting? We also need some points in powerful.
>>
>>41036311
Are we an adult, or young adult? Hoping for adult and bludgeons, by the way.
>>
>>41036424
>>41036385
Yes adult. I was waiting on agreement of what I posted. Specialties are coming next. They are going to be a group vote instead of me picking.
>>
>>41036311
Can we move Healing 3 to Language 3 do we can actually read please?
>>
>>41036468
Can we lower one stat to 1 so that we can get another 50 XP?
>>
>>41036486
You could. I just put healing in there on a whim. If another anon votes consider it switched.
>>
>>41036551
We really need to be able to read.
>>
>>41036551
It just seems strange that an heir would be unable to read, but okay
>>
>>41036520
Depends on if someone votes for it. Throw an idea out with arguments for it and see if anons go for it.
>>
I also agree with swapping healing for language
>>
>>41036582
voting to be able to read
>>
>>41036575
>>41036576
Right my fault. Didn't think you needed a higher language to read.
>>
>>41036582
I suggest we reduce Healing to 1, as that's primarily the job of a maester or a dedicated medic. This way we can up our Persuasion and Survival to 3, one skill which will help a bit with social, and one which I think is paramount in the Vale especially with all the Wildlings about. The remaining points I suggest we put into Marksmanship to get it to 4, so we can really say we're a hybrid archer/fighter.
>>
>>41036690
I'm also amenable to putting the ten points I suggested for Survival into something else, like Stealth or another language.
>>
>>41036690
Putting Marksmenship to 4 would take 40 points not 10 as we are still building him.
>>
>>41036772
You mean 30 right? Because you have Marksmanhip at 3 already.
>>
>>41036772
I also never said anything about only using 10 for Marlsmanship. I mentioned using ten for Survival and Persuasion.
>>
>>41036865
Yes. I was stating that to jump two levels in an attribute would require 40 Xp. Since ten is already spent another thirty would make it rank 4.
>>
>>41036921
I am a newfag with this. I didnt think of adding the to already spent to make the 40 until the other anon said something.
>>
>>41036690
So is this happening? And are the 10 points going into Survival going instead to a new language?
>>
>>41037276
As long as we can speak, read and write I think survival would be better than a new language.
>>
>>41037307
I would agree with this.
>>
Okay new abilities are
Fighting 4 Marksmenship 4 Endurance 4 Agility 4
Survival 3 Language 3 awareness 3 Warfare 3
Persuasion 3 Will 3 Cunning 3 Animal Handling 3
>>
>>41037607
I'd say that looks pretty good.
>>
>>41037607
Awesome.
>>
>>41037607
Fine with this, tough I'd also list Healing at 1 to make sure we don't forget
>>
Thread is dead? Thread is dead
>>
>>41038565
I hope not. Just got back from fixing my sisters wifi because apparently she can't into it.
>>
Thread is confirmed for NOT DEAD
>>
>>41040065
Did we already do a Status roll for starting wealth?
>>
>>41040199
I want to say yes in the first thread. But I do t really know. But anyways that done we now move onto qualities. We have 4 destiny points but at least one has to go to heir. So leaving that out we have 2 more that we can use for positive benefits. And since we are an adult we need to pick a negative. I'll come back with a list for positives first.
>>
Shit I meant I'd bring a list of specialties. Or people can offer ones of their own. Like how some wanted a long axe or bow specialties. We have 80 points for it and each one costs 10 x the value we want but cannot exceed the base amount. In example bows for Marksmenship cannot go over 4 for the moment.
>>
>>41040285
Are we doing specialties first, or afterwards? Some qualities have prerequisites, so I just wanted to check.
>>
>>41040471
Yeah I had a damn brainfart there sorry. If I keep this up I'd be surprised if any of you guys stayed around.
>>

>>41035004
oh god how do i art

looks kinda bland, but I don't know what to add
>>
So on specialties we have long blade, short blade, axe, bludgeons, shields, pole-arms, brawling, fencing and spears for fighting. 80 points to spend at 10 x the level you want but not exceeding 40. Others will come after this as it seems to be a bit contentious.
>>
>>41040727
Is Archery/marksmanship something we'll be able to put points into later or did you just forget to put it in?
>>
>>41040727
I know some anons wanted to rock an axe or mace, and I would be cool with that, but at least some in long blade so we have something to fall back on.
>>
>>41040727
2 in Bludgeons

We can get a Ball and Chain, the only Powerful weapon that can be used with a shield (unless you're Massive), and either a Flail or a Warhammer. Flail does more damage an has no bulk, but the Warhammer has some other nice effects that go with it such as Shattering 2 and Staggering IIRC

I personally prefer Flail though.
>>
>>41040819
Long Blade benefits suck in comparison to Axe and Mace ones, the weapons themselves are ridiculously expensive, and there are weapons that are just as good or better and yet are cheaper.
>>
>>41040812
I was going to do it after this.
>>
>>41040888
Continuing on, I proposed Bludgeons because we can have a two handed weapon and a one handed weapon that are both not only Powerful, but also the same weapon type which mean we have more specialty dice to spare.
>>
So spend 20 and get 2 Bludgeoning?

If that's so moving to Marksmenship. We have bows, crossbows, siege and thrown. 60 points left.
>>
>>41041079
2 in Marksmanship

I'm planning on getting 2 in Strength, and then look around and see where we ought to put the other dice
>>
>>41041169
>>41041169
Shit, meant Bows, not Marksmanship
>>
For Athletics we have Climb, Jump, Run, Strength, Swim and Throw. 40 points left after bows. And it seems it's just us anon. I'm not going to yell at ya for that.
>>
>>41041359
I think there's at least one other guy, but that break from earlier probably saw every one else leave. Ah well.

2 in Strength. I'll think about what else to do with the remaining dice
>>
>>41041404
Yeah I could have sworn I left a post saying that I'd be leaving for about an hour. Apparently 4chan wanted to shut the bed for me and eat it.

>>
Bludgeon Fighter 1, and Heirloom for a Valyrian steel sword or axe?
>>
>>41042040
Nah, no heirloom. Armour Mastery for sure though. I'll think a little about what the other option should be.
>>
Considering flaws, do we know anything about our heirs personality? Honor-bound would be good but it would be typical to be honorable. Marked as well would be interesting, maybe even Haughty.
>>
>>41042078
I put in Heirloom as Pallbrim has been around for damn near the beginning and most houses who have done that have one. At least I think. But not concerned about it. Just kill a house who has one and take it right? Hey where'd everyone go?
>>
>>41042153
Nemesis might be an option as he has a hatred for someone from the rebellion maybe a house that stayed loyal and wounded him before the end? But I'll try and stay out of it.
>>
>>41042154
>>41042153
I'd take both Haughty and Honour-bound, as we're Arrogant yet Magnanimous.

Also looking through benefits right now. Still not interested in heirloom, as it's not really that great
>>
>>41042177
Yeah, if he's got any kind of backstory, I think it would be cool to include something like that.
>>
Yeah, so I'm thinking Armour Mastery, Fast, Expertise (Strategy), and/or Shield Mastery. What do you guys think?
>>
>>41042320
I'd also go for Double Shot, but we don't have the stats for that yet.
