You are Sallazar, a young wizard who has recently left the army. You have taken a teaching job at Egwen Girls Convent.

In addition the Headmaster of the school wants you to run the schools adventurers club, to give some of the schools more...unusual...girls something fun to do.

You collect all the members of your club, and head out to the club house. You also send whispering winds to Taynathil and Groundskeeper Answick.

You and the girls file in and the club house is filled with talk of the upcoming trip to Lysva, as well as the outfits Team Fell Storm will be getting. Anlanesa and Phaysis sound jealous and maybe a little regretful too.

Taynathil enters and gives you a courteous nod. You wait for Answick to turn up, he’s late.

Finally he turns up....with a short figure wearing a long hooded robe and a facemask in tow.

“Aye apologies” says the Groundskeeper “Ad ter pick up t’ young miss.”

“Quite alright” you say “A new recruit?”

Groundskeeper Answick shakes his head “Nah the Scalper bast- er, the Scalpers we ‘ad today were Rabjols crew, so ‘eadmaster said Miss Safire here had ter ‘ave a guard fer next few days just in case, an its my turn. I’ll just get her sat down” he directs her to a desk towards the back of the room and she silently takes some books out, and starts working on her homework.

“Ok, lets gets started” you say.

Nope, only Evrumine and Anlanesa voted against joining the Witch King in the scenario. They just didn't join Team Evil in the later meta-devcision.

Giving extra credits is just punishing those who didn't join the evil side. It's unfair, specially since it was useful in introducing parts of the club's mechanics and fluff.

Everyone is getting credits by default, this was just about whether those that didn't turn evil get extra credits.

Closing and counting

I assumed extra credits would be for resisting evil *in-character* - i.e. Evrumine and Anlanesa.

But if you want to hand out some to others, feel free to do so.

Anyway, writing update so you have plenty of time to discuss.
>>
>>41032606
>I assumed extra credits would be for resisting evil *in-character*
That was my original idea back then, there isn't really any reason to give extra credits for those that just didn't join the meta Team Evil.

I thought it would be to the end team composition. That's what matters, specially since the girls were not RPing, only the MC was.

>>
“Firstly” you say “I want to give 5 credits to everyone who participated in the dungeon the other day” The girls cheer, and Anlanesa and Cleya fist-bump.

“And” you say “an extra five to Evrumine and Anlanesa, for resisting the temptation of evil”

“That’s unfair!” Phaysis protests, though she’s smiling “She joined the evil team anyway!”

“In-character actions are not the same thing as player actions” you say “they played the heroes well, so they get rewarded. Now, lets get sorted into our training groups.”

You split the girls up into groups for specialised training: You take Anlanesa and Cleya off to one end of the club house, for magical lessons; Groundskeeper Answick takes Evrumine, Nevyn and Chame to the other end for lessons in weapons training, and soon has them swinging heavy practise blades at the training dummies you have, he switches Chame and Nevyn to dodging techniques later; and Taynathil takes Phaysis outside for archery lessons.

Calluna initially joins your group, then switches to Groundskeeper Answicks group partway through the session.

Kittrane joins Groundskeeper Answicks group, and Syphoebeus splits her time between your group and Answicks.

When you’ve got all members of your group doing meditation practise you wander over to Safire “How’s the study going?” you ask.

The cloaked and masked figure jumps a little in her seat, and turns to face you “Um, I’m working hard sir” comes the muffled voice from behind the mask.

“We’ll be trying some spellcasting later” you say “do you want to join in?”

“Uh, if you say so sir” says Safire “thank you.”

When all of the students are occupied, you wander over to Groundskeeper Answick “So who’s this Rabjol?”
>>
>>41033137
It got all the info from the pastebin Pally released, it's nothing new.
>>
>>41033185
Yes, but many hadn't seen those, hence why I said ALL of us have them now, because some of us didn't have them, since they didn't saw the pastebin.
>>
“Half-orc Scalper” says the Groundskeeper, fingering a scar on his on his face “we got...history. He’s the lowest of the low sir, if you get sight of him, put him inna ground. He’ll think nothing of cutting up young girls for money, nor of torturing them for laughs. He’s sneaky and crafty and I wish I’d shot him today, but he got away. But its just like him ter leave a watcher behind, hence the extra protections for some of the girls. He knows Miss Safire by name too, he’ll come for her, and when he does, I’ll be waiting fer ‘im.”

The girls all seem hard at work, and enjoying themselves.

You take the time to speak to all the girls during the club training session, but you spend some extra time with Phaysis, outside alone with her rather demanding trainer.

“Again!” yells Taynthil as Phaysis fires the last arrow into a target some distance away. Phaysis lays down her bow and runs over to the target as fast as she can, then runs back, and starts firing again.

“Too slow!” yells Taynathil, standing next to Phaysis, her “you need to run faster, you need to shoot faster too, and accurately, one of those arrows missed the target.”

She seems to be driving the poor girl a bit hard.

“Is that really necessary?” you ask, after Phaysis has shot all her arrows and goes running to collect them.

“If you want her to learn, yes” says Taynathil, she’s not even looking at you, she just watches Phaysis “Babying them just makes them weak.”

“I think you’re being too hard” you say, as Phaysis comes running back.

“Yes I expect you would” says Taynathil “you probably got treated like a child by your peers due to your stature; I bet you grew to love it, being the baby.”

You grip your staff tightly, if you didn’t need her to help train Phaysis...

How do you respond?

You try to keep a firm grip on your temper, but fail “Listen you stuck-up pointy eared bitch!” you step close to her and glare up at her. Fortunately Phaysis is too far away to hear what you’re about to say.

Taynathil looks down her nose at you, her face an arrogant mask as you continue “I grew up in the slums, it was the hardest place you can imagine, most of my childhood friends died before I even went to learn magic at the guild. And the guild was no easy ride either, I learned alongside the sons and daughters of nobles who had been taught by private tutors since they could walk! By the time I left I was top of my blasted class and I’d been set on fire three times, buried in a middenheap twice, and had my arms and ribs broken more times than I can count! You think I had it easy? I was the only commoner there who dared rise above the nobles, you think that was easy? You think they treated me like a baby?”

You pull up your sleeve and show her, her mask falters a little “that’s a slave brand” she says “but-”

“Yes, slavery is illegal” you say, pulling your sleeve down “they just thought it was funny to *teach me my place* and give me a real reminder of what I was. You think I don’t know hard? You stupid arrogant...idiot! I know what hard is like, and I hated every damn second of it, you know what I felt when I got drafted into the army? Relief! I don’t want any of these girls to know what *hard* is in this club, I want them to learn, and have fun!” You pause, breathing deeply.
>>
>>41034565
>I don’t want any of these girls to know what *hard* is in this club, I want them to learn, and have fun!”

>>
Taynathil opens her mouth, closes it again, and then opens it as if she wants to say something. She’s interrupted by Phaysis running up.

To take a moment to get your feelings under control and say to her, in a pleasant voice “Phaysis, what do you think, is Taynathil being too hard on you?”

“Oh no Sir” says Phaysis, firing off an arrow “The Sisters were much harder on me than this. Why if Sister Josiam were here, she’d have beaten me with a switch for missing the target – that was her favourite punishment. I wander what she’s doing now?”

Phaysis sounds excited and happy, though she’s shining with sweat as she fires the arrows, and then runs to get them again. She recounts the tale of being beaten with a switch as if its a mere detail.

You struggle to think of a response to that.
---
Next you visit Kittrane, as she uses a heavy wooden practise axe against a dummy, going through a series of heavy strikes. She swings it one handed and two-handed with equal ease.

“Enjoying yourself?” you ask.

“Oh yes” she says with a fierce grin “good to be doing this again.”

She learns better that way, then against a dummy.

It's more about that she wasn't even harsh in first place
I had fucking PE teachers more harsh than this
Also I found something funny
We are only person that said word hard in this whole thing
>>
Writing talking about magic and sparring
>>
So from what is that slave thingy made?
Magic or just a tattoo?
Why can't we just get rid of it like any sane person?
>>

It serves as a reminder.
>>
“Even better against a moving target” you say, casting your spell and picking staff off the weapons rack.

“Seriously?” says Kittrane, giving you a dubious look

“Sure” you say “you can’t hurt me, not with my spell”

“Ok” she says, and takes a swing at you, you lean back and the axe misses you cleanly.

Kittrane adjusts her stance, and swings at you again, you parry with your staff, moving her swing just enough so that it misses you.

“Of course” you say conversationally “I only need my spell *if* you actually hit me, have you thought about using magic at all?”

“Magic is for skinny geeks” growls Kittrane, swinging at you faster and harder, and still missing you.

“You might find it useful” you say, as you tap her lightly with you staff when she opens her guard.

Kittrane doesn’t respond, she just keeps trying to hit you.

What now?

>Go easy; let her hit you once or twice
>Push her, make her angry, maybe that’s the key to her magic
>Other (what?)

Could also have been applied by red-hot iron.

Probably as a reminder of how unpleasant people can get.

Just dodge to best of our ability
She can't get better if we go easy on her
>>

Sentimental value? Look at it just in case we start acting differently?

Shock value in moral stories to poncy elves?

Can we have a Berserker homebrew class?

Admittedly, we were probably in the wrong on that lecture to some degree since the elf wasn't being very hard, just trying to push her (and we might've been getting protective of our student), but we were in the middle of a minor emotional breakdown at the time.

She was still being a presumptive bitch, though.
>>
>>41035515
Yeah. Elf is a cunt.
>>
>>41035515
>Admittedly, we were probably in the wrong on that lecture to some degree
Not quite, we were completly right in telling her off for thinking we would baby the girls because we don't know hard ourself.
We were wrong in assuming she was being too hard, but honestly I didn't even think she was and had voted for asking Phaysis because of that.
>>
>>41035538
Yeah, she keeps that attitude of hers long it won't end well for her. Girls are no joke, nor are the teachers.

>>41035515
yeah she's a total bitch.
>>
>>41035538
Some redneck is encroaching on her land. She has every right to be a cunt tbh.

Although I wonder what the city got out of that agreement. If elves coerced the townsfolk to begin with, our case can turn out to be pretty weak.
>>
“It must’ve been a while since you sparred” you say “you can’t even land a single blow, C’mon Kitten, where’s the claws? I thought you were supposed to be tough.”

Kittrane growls at you and redoubles her efforts, throwing everything she’s got into trying to land a hit on you. Flames start to spill from her,

You’re an old soldier though, and as big and as tough as she is, she’s still a novice.

Oh she comes close a few times as you taunt her; a moment of inattention and she might have landed a hit.

Finally your work pays off and Kittrane instinctively gathers the flames spilling from her into a ball of fire, and launches it at you with a wordless scream.

You’ve been waiting for this though. You cast your own spell and when the fireball hits you, instead of exploding into a conflagration that would threaten those around you, it is instead absorbed harmlessly by your spell, its arcane energies refilling your own reserve.

Everyone stops what they’re doing and stares at the two of you, Kittrane stares at her own hands in shock.

“See” you say into the silence “with magic, you hit me.”

---

And that’s it for today, thanks for playing. For your actions today you gain 2XP for the main character and 5XP for the Club.

Next thread on Friday, I hope you had fun with the quest today.

I’ll hang around for a short while for questions.

thanks for the thread OP!

I agree. That's what I was trying to get across with the presumptive bitch comment and saying "to some degree."

I'm bad at words.

But he is right
>>

We didn't say it was superior. We said it's a useful skill and she'd have a better time at hitting a wizard with it.
>>
>>41035741
>See? Magic is superior to this silly "fighting" thing you are so focused on
No, he actually said that using magic in addition to fighting is better than just fighting.
And it is.
>>
>>41035741
That's because nobles are just people with fancy titles and clothings, while wizards are objectively and inherently superior to fighters
>>
>>41035760
being right is not always likable though
actually it rarely is.
>>
>>41035776
For all we know they all have angel ancestry actually making them superior
>>
>>41035809
So you're saying Evrumine is also angel-blooded?
>>
>>41035851
She had soulbound parent
For all we know all soulbound became nobles for their great help in war
>>
>>41035922
>For all we know all soulbound became nobles for their great help in war
No, for all we know they got punished by literal angels coming down from heaven to punish them. To the point that soulbound are now considered monsters and are socially shunned.

Because thats what happened.
>>
>>41035922
Maybe if you would have read her backstory you would know how retarded you sound.
>>
>>41036052
So she's daughter of soulbound
Then after gods get angry he becomes captain and starts to hate soulbound
Or was it some other guy?
And then for her shunned father disowns her for no reason
Unless it's only soulborn that are hated
I am correct?
>>
>>41035593
Pally, who is the cutest girl?
>>
>>41036283
No.

Her father was a noble commander who became a soulbound. Then he had Evrumina, and pampered her and shit etc.
Then the gods judhement comes and he gets his bound soul pried out of him.
When political opinion starts being against soulbound, he disowns Evrumina.

You don't stop being soulbound when they unbound that other soul from you
I would even say it's required step unless you want insane berserk
And he still has no reason to disown his daughter outside of maybe protecting her in some strange way

Also why are girls we recruited named as half-thing when they are soulborn?

QM laziness, Half-thing was shorthand, I can clean it up if needed
>>

>You don't stop being soulbound when they unbound that other soul from you
Considering her father was a soulbound, and then explicitly went denouncing all soulboiund, yes it does. Stop making a ass out of yourself by saying stupid shit the material directly contradicts.

>>41036669
>Also why are girls we recruited named as half-thing when they are soulborn?
Because most of them are children of soulborn and it rubbed off. We only have one soulborn in the school.

>And he still has no reason to disown his daughter outside of maybe protecting her in some strange way
Yes he does, because soulbound became a political taboo and so he had to distance himself from her for his career.
>>

There is your mistake. They aren't soulborn.

Anon, I'm not seeing how he's being retarded.

The offspring of a Soulbound is called a Soulborn.

So how much time does it take to find and raid some dungeon?
