Worlds collide and clash, as doors open and energy floods in, all with one destination. Forces beyond sight smash together and impact with shattering explosions. Two grand armies match up against their counterpart, one of the abyss and one of existence. And into this, a change is about to occur, something to shift the balance.

A glimmering light shines over… There. Wait. Where is there? Who are you?

>Are you a boy? Or are you a girl?
>How old are you?

Rolls will be a DC system in divisions of 5 using the D100, taking the best of the first three for the most part. Alternative systems may arise as time goes on, but we’ll see.

Right, you are a boy. Well, more like a young man. You remember yourself as being... 24? 26? Somewhere around that. Either way. It doesn't really seem to matter too much, what with the entire "swimming in blackness and I can't see anything but this one point of light" business.

Speaking of that, you... swim? towards the light source. As it gets closer and closer, you hear a high pitched ringing noise that grows in intensity and frequency as you approach. Eventually, it grows to the point that you squeeze your eyes shut and open your mouth to try and relieve the pressure. Just as suddenly as it came, it disappears again. You open your eyes as your feet touch ground! You look around and see -

>Roll a D5 to determine what kind of world you ended up in. I will take the first one that appears twice.

This will affect the way you will grow and interact with the worlds around you, as well as the way your power will grow.

Ok then, a fantasy world it is. Writing...
>>
You step out into the blinding light and see... a small village. It appears to be late at night, judging by the presence of the twin moons in the night sky and generous sprinkling of stars. It also seems to be the only reason that you haven't been accosted in some way for randomly appearing in the middle of the main street.

You glance around yourself and shudder, it's cold! Well, it is the middle of the night and you aren't wearing... anything. Uh oh. That could be problematic. It's really freaking cold right now, and with no clothes you could freeze to death quite quickly. You glance around. The village seems to be more or less like a normal village straight out of a fantasy game. Blacksmith, Inn, market square, homes. Only you have no idea where you are.

You head towards a small house made out of wood, and sneak around the side. The snow makes things both easier and harder to do, as it bogs you down and crunches under your toes. However, it does mask the noise when you fall over a rock and it lessens the impact quite a bit. As you approach the window, you see a large sheet has been hung out to dry in an easy to access place, which you quickly swipe. There are other clothes there, but they won't be so easy to get to.

Ok then. That's a critical success.

You move like a ninja, whipping up with the bedsheets and grasping the end of the cloth tightly. You swing the sheet around and it responds like a snake, coiling up and over and wrapping around the centre of a number of clothes. Giving it a sharp crack, you swing it in and grasp the clothes. A full set, in your size too and made for winter. Perfect.

Two minutes later, there you stand, resplendent in your new clothes. You still, however, have no idea what to do or where to go now. One thing does stand out though. You have zero money.

You decide that in order to properly achieve anything, you need to explore your new abode. You drop the bedsheet on the ground and head further into the house.

One fruitful search later, and you have uncovered a good supply of non-perishable food in the pantry, a pair of shoes (GOOD. Your feet were freezing!) and a small wallet. The previous owners must have been in a serious rush to get out of this place. You head further into the house and uncover a cellar. You decide to go in, bravery overruling common sense and you quickly find yourself in a tunnel system.

After exploring the first few bends, you deduce that this system goes on for quite a while.

>Head back, you've seen enough for now.

You turn around and begin walking back towards the trapdoor leading back into the house when, right in front of your eyes, it gets sucked back into the ceiling with a loud clang. This cannot bode well.

You turn around as a whistling wind flows past you from deeper in the cave. Almost immediately you can tell the difference - those paired floating orbs were definitely not there a second ago. And they definitely weren't getting closer at a rapid rate. As the... thing becomes visible, you can clearly tell that it's a spirit of some description as it lunges at you.

Time jerks to a halt.

A scream of rage can be heard in the distance.

A shimmering, multi coloured aura surrounds your body, refracting with light and casting specks around the cavern. The spirit pauses, clearly unsure about what to do. You raise your hand tentatively, and touch the light and suddenly!

You feel suddenly weightless. A floating sensation within yourself and outside yourself. You look around and see that you are back in the black space that you were in before you entered that world that you were in just seconds before.

That bright light from before is back and approaching you. You feel a certain sense of apprehension as it approaches you and begins to solidify. It's actually really goddamn big. Like REALLY goddamn big. And then it completely solidifies. It's a dragon. A gigantic black dragon that ripples with power, visible as a shining black aura covering its body. It lowers its head and looks you square in the eye with one of its own, larger than your entire body and a solid shimmering white. You gulp as you expect any number of horrible ends.

"So you're the one that is to be with me for the rest of time?"

That definitely wasn't what you expected. A middle aged, somewhat sassy female voice. You look around and think about where it could have come from until you are sure that, yes, it had to have come from the dragon.

"I am Tiamat. And your name?"

Come to think of it, what is your name?

"It matters not. For names mean little between those who are We."

Wait what.

>What are We?
Tiamat looks down at you, amused. You're not entirely sure how you know that she's amused, her face(?) hasn't changed at all. You just feel it. "The two of us are We because We share the same frame. We can alter that frame to serve Our purposes in battle or outside of battle. However, at its core, We are two... 'souls' isn't exactly the right term but it's close enough, in one frame. That is We.

>Where are We?
"Inside the blank space, of course. The area that reflects the connection between Spirit Pairs and their bond. As of now, we are barely connected, so the space is clear. As We grow closer, the space will fill."

>Is there something we need to do for her not to eat us?
"Perish the thought that I would eat my Spirit Pair! That would be an abomination."

>>41066899
>Do We have a purpose?
"Not yet, but we may. I suppose it will depend on whether we go to Eris in the near future or not."

>>41066923
>Why do you sound like a middle aged woman?
"Because I choose to! I could sound like my age, but that wouldn't be any fun, so I choose to sound like this, because it amuses me."

The Revenant is clearly uninjured, while you are the opposite. And it knows it. The creature bears its fanged maw before lunging at you anew, with terrifying speed. But this time, you are ready for it. And waiting for it.

You raise your ruined right arm with difficulty and place it in the path of the incoming revenant. You can feel the power you now possess, as We, inside your frame. You push it, feeling it flow forward and outwards, rapidly spilling and overflowing, until!

>Pass

You arm shifts. With an intense crawling and itching sensation, scales ripple out of your arms at the middle of the upper arm and flow downwards, past your elbow, passing over your hand and massive claws spring from your fingers, starting at the second joint. The Revenant can only look surprised before you meet its clawed arm with your own, blasting it backwards. This is not a human arm and it is massively powerful. That much is apparent.

The revenant is clearly keeping it's distance now. It isn't sure what to expect, having seen its supposedly defenceless prey turn into a legitimate threat. Good. You can use that time.

You turn inwards again, diving for that well of power that exists in the blank space. As you enter the blank space you see Tiamat again, who raises(?) an eyebrow(?) at you. "My, you're quick. The last Spirit Pair that I was with took years to gather enough courage to come back here and try to fully access the power of We. I suppose that I can reward that kind of forward thinking."

"Just be aware, too much of this power in a frame unused to it could be potentially lethal. Be sure to keep this power to levels that We can handle, oh Pair of We. I will warn you if you go too far."

As your mind is rapidly ripped out of the blank space, you find yourself back where you were, with a tremendous power thundering through your veins, threatening to tear you inside out. You catch that power and mould it, flooding it along your body as that itching returns in full force, over your entire body this time. It is all you can do to not stop. It is, however, worth it. As the sensation fades, you feel different. Your entire body is coated in scales now, with massive claws on your hands and feet. You can feel sharp fangs in your mouth and as you shake your head, the feeling of hair is no longer present, replaced with horns. You can feel the weight of wings at your back and a tail extending from the spine. You smile and chuckle at your new body and are slightly shocked as the chuckle is echoed with a low growl from your own throat.

The Revenant has had enough of this shit and is out of here. It turns tail and flees, rocketing down the passage. You can understand its feelings. You look pretty terrifying right now.

With a low sigh/growl, you undo the transformation, letting the scales ripple back into your skin. You notice now that when your scales appear and disappear your clothing goes with it. That means that when you are fully transformed, you must be wearing absolutely nothing. "Do not worry about your modesty" you hear Tiamat growl. "When We have the frame enter a more battle ready form, our two genders cancel out as they mix. Our transformed frame is androgynous." Well, that's at least partially comforting.

You do, however, have a decision to make. You aren't nearly as helpless as before, but you still have no idea where you are, or where you are going.

No no, you still have the clothes you pinched, they just go away when you transform. They just come back post transformation. Well, there's still a giant cut in one sleeve from where the revenant cut you. That injury healed when you transformed, BTW.

>Continue into the cave system. Exploration!

You decide to head further into the cave. Who knows what that revenant could get up to. And, more to the point, who knows what other things could be down here.

As you travel further into the cave system, you begin to mark pillars with symbols to indicate where you have been so you don't get lost. You round one final corner and stop dead as you behold a terrifying and appalling sight.

There are ghosts of all kinds down here, harmless for the most part but ruled over by a caste of revenants. The revenants think nothing of brutally devouring one of the harmless kind and rule them with an iron grasp. Every now and then, you see a normal ghost, overcome with rage, transform into a revenant, at which point it becomes just like the others. And at the pinnacle of this, you see a large skeletal ghost draped in faded finery with a large red gem pulsing at its chest. This is clearly the leader.

What do?

As you begin to transform, feeling your upper body garments disappear, leaving your pants behind as scales and talons take their place, you hear Tiamat's voice. "The big one is a Greater Lich. With the level of connection that We possess in the blank space, he will be a difficult challenge. The revenants will come to his aid. Try and eliminate as many of them as possible before he notices."

With that in mind you decide to fuck stealth with a ten foot pole and charge straight up the middle. You can feel Tiamat's unconscious approval even as you rush forward, grasping an unsuspecting revenant from behind and tearing him bodily in two. The Lich King rises and begins to chant, black energies flooding his form as magical energy thrums in the region.

"I approve of this course of action, however, We may be under equipped for this. Do you wish for me to take control or to try and up Our rate of synchronisation?"

>Get Tiamat to give you a buff.
>Crit Success

You mentally ask Tiamat to improve Your synchronisation rate, to give you some more juice in the upcoming struggle. "As you request. Give me a second."

Suddenly, your body flares with light. "Well, this is a surprise!" Tiamat giggles(?). "You seem to have a higher rate of acceptability than most hosts. Almost as if... Never mind. I think that I can get more out of this for no backlash at all!" Well that's a comforting thought.

As your mind is pulled out of the blank space you feel a massive flood of power enter you again, only it doesn't hurt like last time. This time, it flows up to your mind and gives you a certain... altered perspective on things. Namely, everything looks a little different.

But there's a time for that later. The Lich King is still there!.. And he looks like he's prepared a pretty nasty spell by the look of that giant comet he's got there.

You, however, are unafraid as you extend your hand, your improved connection with Tiamat allowing you to understand your capacity. The capacity of We. The natural power of your Spirit Pair. The power of the Dragon of Gravity. You reach out with your clawed hand and PULL.

The Meteor flies out of the Lich Kings hand and flies past, before coming to a rest in the gravity well that you have just summoned over your head. He attempts to speak but gets no further than "What did you just -" Before you flatten him against the floor with a blast of gravitic energy.

>Congratulations! You have now grasped the power of the union that you are part of. We is the power of the Gravitic Draconus. You're still bad at using it, but you grasp the basic concepts.

What do?

>Drop the rock, that'll do. Diplomance your way out of this.

You allow the meteor to drop to the ground with a satisfying crunch as it smashes the top half of the revenant that you ripped in two. You do, however, keep up your partial transformation. No point in being stupid. This is hostile ground.

The rich king rises to his feet, clothes ripped and bones chipped. He speaks. "It has been a very long time since I saw a Spirit Pair in this world. So why are you here? Some attempt to cleanse this plane once and for all of the Null? Accident?"

As he speaks, you watch the ghosts begin to back off, starting with the normal ones. The revenants are too scared to do anything severe, although they are clearly still hostile. One speaks up. "Sire, if I may-" but gets no further as the Lich King cuts him off. "SILENCE! I AM TALKING TO THE SPIRIT PAIR HERE! YOU MAY SPEAK FOR YOUR KIND, BUT I SPEAK FOR THE NULL HERE AND THIS CONVERSATION IS ABOVE YOUR MEASLY EXISTENCE!"

Well then.

The rich king turns his attention back to you. "So, Spirit Pair, why are you here. For if you intend to fight my, I will face you in my true form, as the ancient battle dictates."

>Accident, I wandered in here by mistake. What are the Null?

You decide to not tell the king of these Revenants that you came here deliberately to hunt him and his kind and instead simply inform him that you wandered in here by mistake.

"You mean you are simply here by mistake? That cannot be. You mean to say that you know nothing of the battle that took place here three thousand years ago? Between the Null and the Spirits with their pairs? This is a rare occurrence."

Now becoming slightly confused, you press him about what Nulls are.

"You mean... you truly don't know? Ha. Hah! HAH! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!" He lets out with a truly insane laugh. This is getting creepy. "So, you are an entirely new Pair? Well then, this is my lucky day! One who knows nothing of the conflict means one who has never been to Eris, the City of Light or the Dragon Citadel! You are nothing but a newbie! And perfect food for me!"

As he says this, the Lich King rises to his feet and begins to transform. The bones shift into a single solid plate, forming a ridged chintinous armour that coats his entire body. A daemonic, grinning face appears as a mask over his head, as a massive glowing sword appears by his side.

The ghosts instantly flee. They've clearly never seen this before. Although you can't blame them. This THING clearly never came from this world.

>Engage!

You immediately lunge forward, not wanting to give this bastard any time at all to prepare. You tap into your understanding of the gravitic abilities available to Us to lighten your body and make his heavier, the better to get in the first strike that you are after as you spring into the air and rocket towards the former Lich King with your wings. You reach back with your claws and lash out with tremendous force, the thrust of your wings giving extra force to the blow.

Suddenly, a massive force shoves you bodily backwards, forcing you off the central dias and onto the floor as you tumble backwards. The force of that blow was immense. As you look up you can clearly see the massive rent in the floor that the...thing's blade just opened up. As the dust clears, you clearly see the creature there, absolutely untouched. "This is not a fight We can win as We are." Tiamat's voice echoes in Your mind. "I suggest-" And then the world exploded.

A massive fiery red portal appears in mid air in front of you and the thing visibly back pedals. "YOU!" It screeches. "WHY ARE YOU HERE!"

A large red skinned man steps out of the portal and lands on the floor, visibly cracking it. Two horns break his forhead as he cackles once. He turns to face you and you can clearly see the number 666 tattoed onto his chest and forehead. "I'm here because I felt that a Spirit Pair had emerged in this backwater, so I came to investigate. It's good to see that We missed one Lesser last time."

The Lesser (apparently) screeches once and then lunges towards the Red man faster than you can easily follow. With a backhanded slap, the Red man strikes the Lesser and the creature is instantly immolated in a pillar of black fire. As he turns around the Red man looks at you directly and grins. "Why hello there, little one. I am Satan, and i'm here to bring you to Eris."

I may, but this universe has an extremely relative, extremely fast growing power system. What may seem like good stats now will be pathetic very shortly and they will become pathetic shortly after that. I may generate a stats system once the MC and Tiamat Peak out at their abilities and come into their own.

Thanks for coming, as stated I will be answering questions for a bit now.
>>
>>41070284
Maybe a tiered stat system?
I think I saw it in some other place before.
Oh and is Eris THE Eris? Or similar in some sense.
>>
>>41070343
Well, there's going to be a bit of a power boost coming up now, that Lesser was a giant scrub. I'll think about a tiered system once the boost occurs.

Eris is a place, not the Goddess. The name is... somewhat reflective of the nature of the place.

The thing is, you ARE that dragon. That's why Tiamat kept saying We. The two of you are one and the same thing. So by existing in a human form, you are doing exactly that: being a dragon and taking a humanoid form. And yes, that can go in the other direction completely. That's just a little out of your reach for now.
