And im back! After being hospitalized, dealing with school, working, and family matters, I can finally repent for my sins against the emperor and run this quest! Before we start were gonna need to get back on...track. Lets start off with where we are in the story. Personally I find us very much behind schedule, but its whatev I guess. So I need you anons to choose:

>Start off on Kilionos a while after the battle for the planet
>Start off on the Invictus in orbit of another planet(a different one)
>Start off in space, your fleet awaiting your commands
>Write in

Also im gonna need a recap of all the major stuff that happened. If an anon would be kind enough to do so I would greatly appreciate it.

well we made combat walkers a thing.(not the spiders mind you something like pic related)
then we made our planets population kinda like Krieg (Mass cloning everywhere everyone's a killing machine)

Just got back. Why...would you turn our planet...into Krieg? It was all about individuals and being militaristic, the people were natural fighters and warriors and gangers. What was the purpose of turning it...into krieg?!
>>
>>41180055
We also discovered another human planet and have established trade rights. And they gave us co ordinates to a death worlds full of orks, a ghost world with mutants and some other world that was overrun by orks.

Also we suspect they are harboring xenos lifeforms.
>>
>>41180907
>>41181521

We didn't clone them we just started a brainwashing process similar to a space marine that removes all emotion and makes them unable to do anything but kill.
For only a few individuals.

At least that's what I though.
>>
>>41181561
We also established that our frigates have fighter bays and that our R&D department are morons sometimes.

>R&D department is idiots
By the emperor tell me this at least wasnt done with cursing, jokes, references, and other non-serious stuff. At least tell me that.
>>
>>41181561
I think the idea behind the brainwashing when it was proposed was that we wanted super soldiers.

Unfortunately the first few subjects didn't do to well so it was still being tested.

We also worked on VTOLS and other things of that nature as well.
>>
>>41181508
From what I can tell there is no cloning going on. The exact lines from the archive regarding this are:

>You take particular notice when the general mentions research being done into project SIGIL, a training regimen meant to cause temporary amnesia in a subject, keeping higher brain functions but instilling child-like aptitude, eagerness, and ability to learn.
>This time around we have them taking phyrenol mirexis, a speshal somethin’ somethin’ that makes all their anger an’ memories an’ those things being done in their sleep. We do that without our training, they have nightmares, we do it with it, they fight without ‘esitation. Like they ain’t sure whether they’re havin’ a dream or not. Makes for good soldiers, in either case.”

You could always retcon things.
>>
>>41181730
Whats VOTLS and why do we have an R&D department?
>>
>>41181711
The brainwashing wasn't brainwashing per se, it was supposed to sharpen their instincts and quicken their reaction times while dampening things like the fight or flight response.

They were to be extremely loyal and follow any order without question. Sort of like Tempestus Scions.

As for R&D we rolled bad on a VTOL thing and it set one of the scientists on fire and he had to be put out with an extinguisher. (I was making a joke about being idiots)
>>
>>41181756
VTols are unmanned Ariel drones capable of conducting military operations basically like one of those RC cars you got for christmas only a soldier is using the remote to bring death to the enemies of man.

And we made an R&D department for when we aren't on planet so research and the furthering of tech can continue while we are off fighting.

And so our previous GM could give us ideas.
>>
Alright im about to do some reticus conicus. First off the Vtols, tell me what do they look like and why would you embrace abominable intelligence?
>>
>>41182083
It's remote controlled, not artificial so a human is using a remote to pilot a small 3-5 ft aircraft carrying missiles or some sort of heavy stubber.

Another idea was suicide vtols equip them with bombs and swarm a position you need to soften and crash/explode them on impact.
>>
>>41182136
Buht why wuld you use common sense and make remote-controlled drones in 30/40k? And why would a warrior culture decide to not fight and instead use frivolous toys for some task?
>>
>>41182136
the good thing about drones is that they can potentially be used from a continent away from the warzone potentially saving lives. IE having to assault a death trap or killing HVT's.
>>
>>41182179
Fuck if I know, I was busy half the thread so I didn't know how it came up, I was just giving you a general idea of what they are used for in real life and could be used for in game.

It's sometimes not common sense to use drones. If you don't have satellites and radio towers and required infrastructure like that, signals can be lost very easily. As it is, reconnaissance gear on some planes maybe might be useful.

>>
Alright. One, we can keep the R&D department but it has to have an official 30k grimdark name. Two, elite soldiers are not brainwashed/hypnotized/cloned but are personally trained by Sol Prementus. None of them are Shadows of the Sun tier soldiers though. Three, those VTOLS are just...no. Isnt in the spirit of the grimderp of 40k.

Alrighty then write in name of Kilionos R&D department:

You are Sol Prementus, a being of untold charisma and power. Where you are truly from is unknown, though it is known your pod hurled through space and landed on the shattered world of kilionos. From there you were raised by yourself, singlehandedly freeing the formerly enslaved populace from its cruel ork masters. You took control of the planets ten hive cities and their billions of inhabitants. Through your growing affinity with technology and unbending will you restored them to their former glory, fixing the food vats, reclaiming lost and dead facilities and cities, and so much more. The strong individualistic and militaristic culture of Kilionos was something you would not change, and instead change everything to suit it. You created a military of unbending soldiers, fueled by true purpose and forged in the fires of war against the dangers of the planet.

With the planet cleansed and its people safe you did not cease there. You made this a world of warriors, individuals, and those who care about themselves and the whole. From the greatest minds of the world you created Eosos, the creators and builders of ships and weapons, researchers and knowledge finders, and so much more. Even now vast walkers traverse the planet and are aboard your ship, robotic proof of the genius and progressiveness of man.
>>
>>41185047
Currently you are aboard your ship, the Invictus, a marvel of human engineering. Built through blood, sweat, and tears, this ship is proof that man's past knowledge and power was unsurpassed by anything of the time. The invictus is covered in black flaming void shields, burst of red electricity sparking off like corona burst into space. Around it are dozens of other ships, cruisers, frigates, battleships, all produced by the shipwrights of your home. Aboard your flagship alone are approximately one million men and woman, the feeling of each one almost omnipresent to your synced mind. The fleet circles the first other planet in the Kilion system, Asalo, a green gas giant of unknown materials. Recently sensors picked up unknown radio transmissions from this quadrant of the system, and at the prospect of either xenos or fellow humans you immediately set off into space...
>>
>>41185318
You sit on your throne, an elaborate black seat glowing and pulsing with energy as it links to the rest of the Invictus. You stare out into the vastness of space through the command deck, the green giant hovering in space like some shifting emerald surrounding by the black specks of fellow ships. The ship is at 100% currently, with its teeming inhabitants already having prepared guns and weapons systems and hundreds of other functions. The messages from other ships report no signs of contact or signals, meaning the ships must have left recently...

So what do we want to focus on, is the first question we should ask. Are we going for people-centric(Skulls, People over other 2), machine-centric(Cogs, Tech over other 2) or soul-centric(Fire, enlightenment over other 2)?

You sit in your chair and think. Something was here, and it must be found. Your eyes glow with black light as you relay an order to the rest of the fleet, dozens of ships getting different messages based on current location and various other statistics. The general order is to patrol the planet in search of anything from ships to signals. Battleships move, figures and cruisers around them in practiced formations as they scan for signs of activity. Meanwhile you focus your mental power on finding the signals, slipping to a lower portion of the great realm of emotional energy. You find no signs of anything, but there is a small point of mechanical activity...from inside of the gas giant? Interested you push forward, probing for more of the signatures. The feeling is alien and strange, machines you have never felt before in your life.

All of a sudden you are mentally assaulted by alien sensations, and the gas clouds begin to part as you see dozens of xenos ships leave the giant. Engines flaring to life the ships are sleek and deadly, covered in menacing shapes and symbols as they fly at your fleet at full speed. With your battlegroup in its current position they immediately open fire, weakspots and sensitive areas open to them like wounds due to the unexpected approach and attack.

You scowl in annoyance, angered by having been tricked by alien scum of unknown origin. With a thought you begin relaying orders throughout the fleet, as guns and shields on the Invictus come to life.

Battleships begin to turn or open fire at the head on invaders, the disabled ones merely firing what they can and preparing for the possibility of boarding parties. The Invictus follows suit as its massive bulk turns and aims lascannons at the rapidly approaching enemy. The energy core surges to life as settings are adjusted both remotely and manually, and from the left side of the ship a hail of red and black beams accompanied by shells bores down upon the oncoming fleet. They respond in kind, and the void shields flare as alien weaponry assaults both your ship and every other ship in the fleet. You look out to see torpedos exploding against allied and enemy ships, and look out to see the Skywatcher, a powerful ship of the line, explode due to an enemy bombing run. A frown forms upon your face as you see two other battleships approaching, firing upon you and causing the Invictus to shake, its voidshields flarring with each hit. The two ships glide through space like daggers, strange hulls made of some unknown materials as they fire twisting blast of energy.

Sounds dumb, but actually one of the best strategy we have. Gonna fry the shit out of their electronics. And it's not like their weapons are any less damaging at range. Always be mobile.
Don't want those torpedoes to hit us.

Most primarchs have a fleet, but when you think about it, the only traitor primarchs that cared about their fleets were Horus, Magnus, and fulgrim. None of the rest really cared about managing their fleet. Most of the loyalist legions, however, were great at managing their fleets. We'd have to play some pretty mean chess to be the best at naval battles. I believe we can do it if we play our cards right, though. To my knowledge we're the only primarch that built his own ship.
>>
>>41189141
I think mangus built his own, Or somebody did.
>>
Meanwhile I've finished reading the archives
>>
>>41189141
I wonder how much could we lessen the friction between Primarchs. Maybe even save a few?
>>
>>41189141
I kinda like to imagine us on the Enders Game level of been able to space battle well, the whole fleet is merely a limb to us, our will connects them and been the Emperors will i think we are the only one whom could pull it off. Just us sat in our Space Throne hundreds of ships dancing to our commands.

They are not fighting a fleets with the Primarchs colours, they are facing the primarch himself.
>>
>>41189278

Presumably we could shift the balance of power but I think the Heresy is more or less inevitable. In character, we wouldn't have any reason to doubt their loyalty unless we hang out with the traitors before open hostilities begin
>>
>>41189306
The only way we could do something like that is if we made some kind of point-to-point communicator.
>>
>>41189332
well we could always just 'hate' the heretics and say they rubbed us wrong so we watch them more closely.
>>
>>41189357
I have the confidence we can do it, we have the power, the technology and more importantly the Will
>>
>>41189332
I thought that the Heresy might be inevitable, but we could just make it less devastating would be enough.
>>
>>41189407
The problem is that we would need to create something similar to a hivemind to pull it off.
>>
>>41189441

Retreating is one thing that is not in your blood, nor the blood of the one that made you. Your will permeates the vast ship causing it to begin turning, shields bursting outward with each hit from the enemy laser cannons. You return fire with hundreds of guns, pummeling each respective ships shields with little visible effect until you face them. With a thought faster thsn humanly possible the engines blaze into fiery life, fuel expended in mere moments as it charges toward the enemy. All three ships exchange fire, and the ship rumbles as shell after shell is fired into the void, crossing it in mere moments to impact the forward prow of both vile shipworks. Whatever the ships are made of though is beyond you, for every shot would have decimated and virtually destroyed an other ship. Pressing on y.qou feel the shields growing weaker, and if over 15 positions they are breached. The hull quavers as it is scarred by the enemy guns, luckily unharmed for the most part.

>>41189278
Honestly? Just by working together, we could save a few. Even the guys who wouldn't normally like each other might not tear each other apart just by us being there to tell them to chill.
Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind.
>>
>>41189441
We already have the Throne, all we need to do is build receivers for more direct control which should be easy since the sender is the hard bit. We design it so without our Will/Mind been the Possessor remote control is impossible to avoid hijacking. Plus the more we practice the better we can get at it.

A plan formulates in your mind, one of many that you deign to put to use. You feel the red core of the ship pulse, and then begin channeling it over the length of the Invictus, the ship becoming a black and red blur darting through space. The largest of the two enemy ships, the flagship apparently, noticed your charge and somehow turns at an impossible speed, its broadside weaponry brought to bear in less than a minute. It is too late for it to stop whats happening though, and luckily your ruse has worked. You power up the lightning cannon and fire it at 100% energy. A streak of red power flows through space, arching as if dodging some unseen obstacles before hitting the side of the ship directly. The enemy shields overload in seconds before lightning arks over the craft, exploding outward in many areas as the decorated dark ship goes motionless. It still has power though, as somehow it manages to levy its remaining guns at you while its fellow ship fires upon you.

The second battleship then runs alongside you, but then does something totally unexpected. Ghostly whips of blackness shoot from it and begin wrapping around your ship, and you feel the shields themselves being drained of energy. The guns on the side attempt to fire, only to be decimated by some currently unknown weaponry. It isnt long before you feel an alien presence, and realize that the ship has been boarded...

A frown upon your face you attempt to activate other systems as more and more of the invaders board the ship. It isnt long until another runs alongside and boards from the otherside, and your frown grows deeper as you must deal with two simultaneous ships. As fighting breaks out on the lower decks and vox transmissions fly throughout you decide to take matters into your own hand. You rise up from your massive throne, standing at over 9 feet tall, and your slender frame covered robed black armor. You reach down and grab your sword Flamebringer, putting it on your waist before grabbing sunshooter and its S.T.C pack. You have 4 belts of ammunition, 4 plasma grenades, and 3 krak grenades. All of this was prepared by you long before you got on the ship, and it is time for it to be out to use. You turn from the viewport and mass battle outside, and as the ship alarms begin blaring you walk on with purpose.

You are Sol Prementus, son of a being with godlike power. For any being to attempt to defy you or fight you is a massive undertaking none are prepared for. You are the light in the darkness, the bringer of both progress and destruction, and a natural born lord of war...

Thread end! How was it anons? Any tips/suggestions or things you wish to see?
