A couple of lifetimes ago - your life, basically, before your sempai shot her way through your kneecaps and grumbled her way into your heart - you never believed in karma. You never believed that someone's past would come back to haunt them.

People - especially Magical Girls - get away with everything. You've seen it happen. You knew those people, worked with them, ate with them, did your best not to attract their attention during meetings. Each and every one of them, eyes glittering and lips sneering with the satisfaction of doing unspeakable things that should have, by rights, seen them either dead or incarcerated. Each one of them confident, even smug, that they were living a life free of the legal, moral and ethical constraints normally imposed upon the living world. Sure, they needed to ascribe to another - their Incubator's - but all that took was obedience, not restraint. Not the way that the rest of the world had to fall in line with.

There was the guilt at first, though. Everyone did. They called it 'The Wall'. Guilt from their first kill, their first assignments, resurfacing at the least opportune time. Eversors screaming and crying from their deployments, caked with blood and gore, wailing barely-coherent confessions and apologies to the sky. Callidus breaking down in the middle of their assignments, turning their weapons upon themselves when the deceit became too much to bear, when they got too close to their targets. Vindicares locking themselves in their quarters, withdrawing from everyone, becoming mumbling recluses talking to empty air, clutching their weapons in their hands. Culexus, Vanus, Venenum - no matter what rank, everyone suffered it. Everyone went through it. And everyone - except you - got over it.
>>
>>41238911

It wasn't that they were monsters, although you've had the dubious pleasure of knowing a few who deserved such a title. Do anything unspeakable long enough and it loses its edge. You become 'acclimatized', as your Incubator put it. It stops becoming taboo. It becomes as mundane and as tedious as...as paperwork. Read, sign, stamp. Find, murder, dispose.

Some girls arrive at the wall and slowly but surely find their way through it. They stop throwing up at the sight of blood. They no longer see corpses as the people they once were but simply useless biological matter that should be disposed of neatly. Ending lives becomes tedium. But they never see the work as something to be proud of, to brag about, to relish in. Some - like yourself - even attempt to bend the rules a bit, to resort to shortcuts, to make the act less...taxing on the conscience as it would usually be. Eversors train themselves to cut quick and cut clean, giving no time for the victim to feel pain. Callidus resort to simply knocking targets unconscious, either by striking pressure points or administering sleep-inducing substances with a brush of a needle. Vindicares go for incapacitating wounds instead of killshots, or use less lethal ammunition.

You...well, you tried your best to make your targets feel loved until the end. Made them feel loved, cared for, made them feel like they meant the world to someone. That as imperfect and broken as they were, they still had someone who considered them the most important person in their lives - right until you left them, happy, insensate, feeling no pain whatsoever - to your clients.

And then there were the other girls. The other girls who reached the wall, looked at it, and smashed through it with their bare hands. Never feeling the pang of guilt, never getting the nightmares filled with the faces of the freshly murdered. They not only relished the work, but anticipated it. Savored it. Counted every kill, every deception, every target. Taking not only gusto in their work but also a smug kind of pride.

You were never one of them. As...as horrible as you thought some of them were, you secretly admired them. You didn't want to be like them, no, but...you've always thought that someone like that, someone who could just fully accept their role sincerely and wholeheartedly - was cool. They frightened you, you'll admit that outright, but...they had that kind of appeal. A dangerous edge to them that demanded caution as much as admiration. Just like your sempai, before you realized how broken she was. How haunted she was.

That was the first time that you realized that what went around really came around.

The second time - well, it's happening right now, in the worst time it could ever come up.

You really, really wish your sempai was here with you right now.

You clear your throat, wracking your mind for a reply, forcing yourself to come up with something that wasn't quite the truth, and at the same time wasn't quite a lie. You've learned from long ago that those were the most effective kind of falsehood, the ones with a measure of truth in them. They were easier to say, easier to justify, easier to convince with and be convinced of. Even the most bald-faced, shameless liar knew that - that the lie spiced with truth much more easily goes down the throat of the person you were feeding it to.

"I'm...I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you, but..." You begin, allowing your own real nervousness at the encounter to come through, letting it give you that hesitant stutter that had never failed you ever since you started using it. Giving you the voice of someone who isn't quite sure of what to make of things right now, but is quite eager to help, especially in the face of tears. "...if you're talking about Matsuda-san's mission back then, when she saved a client from a, a gang of creeps--" You pause here to give her a smile. One just bordering on the edge of uncertainty, but sincere enough not to look forced. "--then I wouldn't really know anything about what really happened to the girl you're talking about. I was employed here a week or so after it. I'm sorry."

Iori's face falls. "B-but--"

You hold up a hand, still keeping the smile firmly fixed on your face. "But that's...well, that's the official response we're all supposed to give non-employees, Minase-san. We're not supposed to discuss mission details with outsiders, even if they were past clientele. But since you came all the way here to warn Matsuda-san about that Magical Girl, I...well..." You make a show of looking around furtively, before nodding at her. "I know for a fact that Matsuda-san wouldn't have allowed a loose thread like that hanging around. Not her."

The idol's pink eyes go wide at this. "Really...? Are you sure?"

You nod, firmly. "Matsuda-san may have a rough personality, and she's not the sort to bother herself with pleasantries very much, but she's nothing if not thorough. She doesn't leave anything to chance." It's here, then, that you allow yourself to be bold and take Iori's hands with your own - the idol making a noise of surprised hesitation the moment your skin touched hers. "I...Minase-san, I won't pretend I know what you've been through, and I know we've only just met, but I want you to know that you don't have to worry about that Magical Girl hurting anyone anymore. Not you, nor Matsuda-san, nor anyone else. Please believe me when I say that."

"I..." To say that your heartfelt plea had taken the idol by surprise was an understatement. But she didn't recoil, that was important. Nor did she sputter in petulant rage about how you seemed to talk like you knew her. It meant, as you realize now with a sick, heavy feeling in your heart, that this was a meeting that was a long time coming. That it was only now that Iori had worked up the courage to actually come HERE and try to talk to your sempai. That she'd held out as long as she could, allowing those dreams to fester in her mind, until they became too painful to ignore, to deny. She wanted them lanced, and the only way to do so was to warn Chiaki of her fate, or at least make sure that her assailant - you - were in no shape to carry out that dark deed.

And of course you're not. You'd never hurt your sempai. You'd never hurt Chiaki.

You'd kill yourself first before you could even think of such a thing.

[4/5]
>>
>>41238970

"...I believe you." Iori finally says, and amazingly, she gives your hands a careful, hesitating squeeze. "T-thank you. I'm..." She shakes her head, giggling in relieved embarrassment. "I'm sorry if that suddenly came out of nowhere. It's...I've been trying to convince myself that something like that can't happen. That Chiaki-san certainly won't let someone like that...that girl live with what she did. Or how she'd let anyone hurt her - not with her absolutely destroying them first."

You ignore that stab of guilt and nod, smiling, returning her squeeze before gently letting go. "It just doesn't make sense, right?" Iori continues. "Matsuda-san can be a bit boorish and abrasive, but she doesn't do things halfway. Like you said, she wouldn't have let a loose thread hang like that. She'd have dealt with it the quickest and cleanest way." You see the light return to Iori's eyes at the same time that she smiles again. "Thank you. I suppose I just needed to hear it from someone else other than myself." Her cheeks redden slightly as she giggles again.

You shake your head. It's nothing, you tell her. You know exactly how she feels, at least with that. Sometimes, you need to hear it from someone else's mouth to truly believe something, even if you yourself know that it's silly not to believe it.

"I just...well, Chiaki-san and I didn't exactly part in good terms the last time we met, but..." Iori's cheeks redden again. "...I...she's important to me. I don't want anything to happen to her."

You force down another pang of emotion here. Not pity, not guilt, certainly not fear...

But something that makes you feel a hell of a lot worse.

It's fine, you tell yourself. It's normal. Just...make her feel better. It's the least you can do, after all. Especially after all you did.

"Ah!" Iori suddenly exclaims, nearly making you jump in surprise. "I just remembered, I introduced myself but didn't ask your name in return!" The idol shakes her head in self-admonishment, before bowing demurely in front of you. "I usually don't forget, this is so embarrassing...!"

A-ah. No, that's fine, really, you reassure her. Besides, things did get a bit emotional there for a moment...

"I...I suppose so, but that's no excuse." The idol straightens up, something like a dignified determination shining in her eyes. "Please tell me your name, so I can at least thank you properly."

Right. You were....you weren't exactly looking forward to this, but it had to happen eventually.

I'd like to draw attention to a question posted on Decu's ask

Q:How is possible that Iori has entered so deep in the Offico, to the point of being near the Callidus training room? Why no one is scorting her? Why a civilian is left alone? Why she walks alone in the building, with the possibility to access restricted areas? What is security doing, taking a nap?

She might have asked about who the enemy MG was during the mission, maybe. It's unlikely she'd recognise it off the bat, but hey, she might have looked into it.

But yeah just tell the truth. If she starts screaming it's not going to do much in the long run, other than make things just more awkward.

Thread 275:
>She looks back at you, wringing her dainty porcelain fingers. "If...if knowing someone who can make a direct appeal to the Blessed Lady, a priestess or seer, then maybe...maybe she can intervene on Good for Nothing's behalf..."

>What? The Blessed Lady? And a seer...?

>Manuke nods furiously. "Someone who can scry into the Akashic Realm, or walk in its tides without fear of corruption." She turns towards Wendy, and somehow you sense a brief, unspoken moment of understanding pass between the both of them. "The Blessed Lady is really angry with our Good For Nothing, but if priestess can plead and bargain with her, she can save our Good For Nothing..."

Ok, so far, we only knows two seers: Haruka and a theorically contracted Oriko. And both of them hate Chiaki, so we are pretty much fucked in that regard.
But what if we enf up in a situation were we don't have other choice than use a seer to help Chiaki? In that case, who do we ask for help and how?
I am asking this in case we face this situation in the future, and honestly, I want to read anons opinions in the matter

Well, it's come to this, then.

You take in a breath, let it out, and then speak your own name - your real name - out loud. Clearly and crisply, loud enough for the idol in front of you to hear.

"Midori," You tell her. "Hanegawa Midori. It's a pleasure to meet you, Minase-san."

For a moment, a cold feeling of dread overtakes you - of Iori suddenly shrieking about how you've finally revealed yourself to be her assailant, to be the true culprit of the crime that nearly ruined her life. You half-expect, in that terrible sickening second, that she'd laugh at how you fell for her ruse, hook line and sinker, incriminating yourself and justifying her revenge in the process. And then she'd thrust a hand into her bag, pulling out a pistol and then shooting you before you can react...

It doesn't happen, of course. Instead, the idol simply smiles at you. "Hanegawa...Midori-san? That's, well, that's a very apt name, if you don't mind me saying so--"

You shake off the remnants of that paranoid vision to return her smile, albeit wryly. "Yes, yes, I know. It's the hair. My parents weren't very creative." A moment, and you feel your cheeks heat up at the stare. "A-and it's natural! Honest! It's naturally green!"

"O-of course, I wasn't implying otherwise," Iori reassures you. "It's just that, well, another person I'm working with also has green hair, but I've always suspected that she dyes it, even though I've never seen her in a salon. I've always wanted a point of comparison, even if yours is a slightly darker shade." She giggles again. "Just to see if she's actually dyeing her hair or not."

Oh? You blink here, before nodding. That makes sense, you suppose. What's her verdict, then?

>>
>>41239781

>>41239894

Iori stares a few moments more, her smile turning into a pensive frown, before she shakes her head. "I...I honestly can't tell, Midori-san. Without her here for a side-by-side, I can only go by memory, but..." She shakes her head. "Yours look very similar to hers, at least from where I'm standing." She reaches out to gently brush her fingertips through a lock of your hair. "...Consistency's more or less the same, although I do have to point out that you're not taking care of yours as well as you should be, Midori-san."

...Urgh. Y-yeah, you didn't really get much of a chance to wash it thoroughly this morning. You bear the admonishment easily enough, however, and make a mental note to take a proper shower before meeting up with Wendy again.

"...That settles it, then. She isn't really dyeing her hair, that harridan. How does she do it...?" Iori grumbles, before looking back up at you. "Thank you for indulging me, Midori-san. For the second time today."

It's fine, you reassure her. You're, uh, guessing that she isn't getting along with that coworker?

"We get along well enough, but..." Iori begins, now looking around as well. "...It's...well, it's immature of me to say so, but have you ever had the kind of coworker who's perfect in every way and knows it? And they don't waste any time in letting you know?"

...Yeah. Yeah, you're familiar with the type.

"And how you're just fed up with how they are that you're looking her all over for faults? Faults that prove they're still human, that they have their own share of imperfections?"

You nod furiously. You SO do. Definitely.

"That's what my coworker's like." Iori gives a small shudder. "And I've yet to find anything wrong with her. Not a single blemish. Not even a pimple."

That's...wow.

[2/3]

>>
>>41239915

"Exactly! And the worst thing is, she knows it!" The idol lets out a groan, before shaking her head. "Ugh. Let's...let's not let me ramble on about work, Midori-san. Not right now, at least." She offers you an apologetic grin. "You were taking me to meet someone, right? Before your direct superior comes and takes me to Chiaki?"

You nod. That was what you were doing.

"Then lead the way, we can talk while we're walking." Iori smiles, and you gladly do so, heaving a sigh of relief as you lead the idol to sick bay, where Kyoko should be holed up. The first few corridors you tackle in comfortable, if slightly awkward silence, with that uneasy bond between strangers that had been forced through the entire spectrum of emotions through happenstance.

It's at the third corridor that you remember something. Just...how did Iori get here in the first place? So near the Callidus training floor, even?

You ask this before you can stop yourself, and Iori blushes again. "I...well, a receptionist was going to lead me to a waiting room, but I snuck off the moment her back was turned." The idol giggles here again, this time sounding rather...forced. "...I just wanted to try and find Chiaki-san on my own, but I got lost soon after. I was wandering around for twenty minutes before I bumped into you."

...Aaaand now you feel that she isn't being honest with you.

Strange. She doesn't...well, when you touched her hands, you were trying to see if she was contracted, but you didn't feel the tell-tale tingling that all Magical Girls would exude upon the first few moments of physical contact.

But why is she lying now?

How do you react?

You decide not to bring it up right now. Not when things are going so smoothly. You'll just tell someone who can do something about it - most likely Sayaka herself, whenever she finally decides to come down and rescue you.

It's here, as you continue leading her through the Officio's winding walls to where Sakura Kyoko is recovering from her injuries, that you also decide to strike up conversation once more. Asking her about how it is being a popular idol.

Iori stares at you in blank surprise for a moment, before breaking out into a surprised smile. "Ah...! So you did recognize me after all, Midori-san. And here I was lamenting the fact that I'd fallen off the charts for so long that people can't recognize me anymore!" She giggles, a sublime sound borne of someone who sings for a living.

You shake your head, a similar smile curling your lips despite yourself. No, of course not, you did recognize her! You just wanted to make sure, after all. You didn't want to mistake her for a lookalike, and vice-versa!

"If you say so, Midori-san." Iori giggles into the back of her hand. "Well, to answer your question, it's...always been surreal, to a point? But you get used to the fame easily enough. After the honeymoon phase, it's all about getting ferried to one place and then another to do all these recordings, appearances, handshake events...and making sure you always, ALWAYS look like the package you're advertising." She smooths down her dress in seeming emphasis of this. "No matter if you're sick, or sleep-deprived, or mentally preoccupied by something else, you have to look the part."

Nothing you haven't heard of before, of course. You've watched enough documentaries about Japan's fascination with idols to know how they're really like. Still, there's something to be said about hearing it in person, delivered by an actual idol without a camera in sight.

[1/2]
>>
>>41241370

You offer your commiserations, and she nods at you. "It can be rough sometimes, yes, but I think any work, even if you're passionate about it, can be a bit tough to keep up with." The brown-haired idol grins. "Although, I suppose I can't really talk, as I'm sure even my worst day can't compare to a Magical Girl's."

You find yourself smiling again, and leave it at that. This is...alright. It's not ideal, but things have not yet gone absolutely to hell yet. You may even get through today with your sanity intact.

After a few minutes' more of walking - and more small talk about her current projects as a Magical Girl - you finally arrive in sick bay, specifically right in front of Kyoko's recovery room. You excuse yourself briefly to gently and quietly knock on the door - and sure enough, the red-haired Eversor's voice comes through loud and clear. As if she'd never been so grievously injured that she needed an entirely new body.

"Door's open! Come on in!"

"Is that...?" Iori blinks at the voice, before breaking out into another smile. "That's Kyoko-san! It's been a while since we last talked...!" Her smile falls soon after, however. "Wait, if Kyoko-san's here, then that means something happened to her...?"

You shake your head wordlessly and usher the idol inside as soon as you get the door open. You step in a moment later, and see the Eversor in her hospital gown, sitting cross-legged upon her bed, a portable gaming system in her hands and empty boxes of snacks around her. She looks up the moment you close the door behind you, her face lighting up like it's Christmas morning. The one unpatched eye glowing with clear, obvious joy at the prospect of company.

"Oh, wow, it's you guys!" She greets the both of you, thumb jabbing down on the device's pause button. It looks like she's been playing something with...squids? Something like that, anyway. "Hah, when Sayaka-chan told me I was gonna get visitors, I wasn't expecting Midorin and Iori-chan!"

[2/3]
>>
>>41241390
>It looks like she's been playing something with...squids?

>>
>>41241390

Y-yeah, well, you're here, you tell her as you smile awkwardly. You've always liked the Eversor, nearly as much as your sempai liked her, but her energy and warmth was often a bit too much to handle. Still, it wasn't as if she was trying to make you uncomfortable or anything - it was almost always the opposite, and you can't help but find charm in that.

"Kyoko-san, it's been an awfully long time!" Iori exclaims as she steps forward. "I'm happy to see you, but what happened? Why are you in here? Did you get into an accident, or...?"

The Eversor glances at you, before chuckling as she turns back to the idol. "Ahaha..! Well, not exactly an accident, if you get what I'm sayin'! But I'm fine now, really! Doctor's just keepin' me for a few days for physical therapy an' rehab, make sure I got everything back into working order, that kinda thing!"

"O-oh. I see." Iori seems to believe this easily enough, her smile coming back on. "Well, you do seem to be in high spirits, for someone stuck inside a hospital room. And eating unhealthily again, I see!" She picks up an empty box. "These snacks are all going to go straight to your thighs, Kyoko-san!"

"I-I'll just work it all off during training!" Kyoko protests. "'Sides, those are all just snacks, anyhow! I eat all the rabbit food the doc forces me to choke down, that should make up for it!"

"...It doesn't really work that way, Kyoko-san." Iori shakes her head mournfully, albeit with a playful grin this time. "But as I won't pretend to know how Magical Girls' metabolisms work. I'll just let you off with a warning then." A moment. "I will , however, have to tell Sayaka-san about this."

"What? Aw, man, that's cruel, Iori-chan!" The Eversor cries, falling back down onto the bed with a whumpf. "You're gonna get my knees wrecked for sure! Sayaka's gonna drag me to the gym and tell me to squat a metric ton for an hour, just to burn the calories away!"

Well. They seem to be getting along, with the complications from earlier glossed over the moment. You let them continue their catching up, with Kyoko regaling Iori of the things your sempai's been up to so far - at least, the stuff she can share. You've long figured out that Kyoko knew what she was doing, and regularly took advantage of the fact that a lot of people underestimated her. She wasn't stupid, she was just simple. Stark difference between each one.

It's only after a while that the conversation turns back to you. "Hey, Midorin." Kyoko's voice, bringing you back to the present. "How's the boss doing, anyway? I don't see her around."

The boss? Does she mean Kyuubey, or--

Oh. Sempai. She's using code words to ask questions about sempai without alerting Iori.

Hnh. Sayaka must not have told Kyoko, then. Urgh, she should have at least, but it probably slipped the Acting Warmaster's mind...

How do you respond?

You watch Kyoko carefully as you give your reply, readying yourself to do something drastic just in case she takes your coded message in the worst way possible. You are, after all, telling her that her best friend - your sempai - is not doing all that well inside a Silent Room. Anyone would freak out over that, especially someone as...energetic, as emphatic as the red-haired Eversor.

The look of abject misery that overwhelms Kyoko's grin when she finally hears the news from you lasts all of a single heartbreaking moment. A moment gone in a blink, replaced with a less eager but just as natural-looking smile, but it was there nonetheless. And it's here that you realize that Kyoko knew, somehow.

She knew something was wrong when she didn't wake up with Sayaka beside her today, or with Chiaki visiting her. She'd just been trying to occupy herself, to convince herself that it was just her imagination, and all she needed to do was wait for your sempai to visit her. But instead she got you and Iori, as well as the damning confirmation that her best friend was indeed in trouble.

Look at you. Ruining days for everyone like it's no one's business. Maybe if you do enough, you can get a pink Magical Girl costume and pink twintails to go along with it.

"Your boss? The...the Venenum?" Iori glances between the both of you. "Oh no, do you have other friends who are also recovering? We should pay them a visit as well, then!"

"Eh?" Kyoko blinks her one good eye here, before hastily shaking her head. "A-ah, no, that ain't neccessary, Iori-chan! She'll be fine, our Venenum - that's what we call the medical staff here - are takin' good care of her. It won't do ta just visit her right out of the blue, there's procedures an' stuff and that takes a while. 'Specially if she's under observation."

[1/2]
>>
>>41242413
>4. Ruri is not the spymaster.
That is exactly what the Spymaster wants you to think.

just as planned
>>
>>41242640

"Really?" Iori's brow furrows here. "Well, if you're sure...I just thought it'd be nice to visit her, seeing as we're all here and everything..."

"She'll probably just be annoyed, along with the rest of the Venenum. Take it from me, Iori-chan." Kyoko reaches over and pats her hand, before turning towards you. Something strange and unreadable shining in her crimson eye.

And then--

+ Midorin? Hey, Midorin, can you hear me? +

It's...that's Kyoko. That's Kyoko pulsing to you.

You reply to the affirmative, doing your best not to show any outward sign that you're communicating with the one other person in the room through a crude form of telepathy. Telepathy that you're pretty sure would leave you with a migraine later, if the sudden tightening sensation between your eyes is anything to get concerned about.

+ Awesome. I wasn't sure if this was gonna work again, after what happened back in the op. + Kyoko grins at you, before saying something to Iori that you don't quite hear. + A-anyway, about Murderface...I kinda had a feeling something went wrong, but...+ She shakes her head. + She's gonna be alright, isn't she? Murderface is gonna be okay? +

How do you respond?

we don't have time to explain everything with Iori there to notice us looking at noting while on codec

let's just ask her to trust Chiaki and trust us
>>
>>41242659
>[]Tell her that she might be shocked by what she's about to hear and to make sure Iori doesn't notice anything.

>>
>>41242628
We have seen that the idols are used in the Officios for celebrations and important events. If the 20th is using the idols for infiltration and distraction purposes, then I think is very intelligent
>>
>>41242659
>[X]Yes. Sempai's going to be alright. I'm going to do everything I can to help her

Our kyobro isn't exactly the best of telepaths, we shouldn't give details that could literally be picked out of the air.
>>
>>41242659
>[X]Quickly pulse to her everything you know about Chiaki's situation, let her make her own conclusions there.

Kyouko's pretty trustworthy, and let's face it, we can use her help, either to get her to interfere with Sayaka, or with the op itself in some manner.

Actually, wouldn't Kyouko be able to get the access card to the GW vault for us from Sayaka, at least in theory, if we can get her on board to help us?
>>
>>41242659
>[x]Quickly pulse to her everything you know about Chiaki's situation, let her make her own conclusions there.
>>
Oh god you guys, if we tell Kyouko everything all at once, she'll get so distracted Iori will catch on.
Also yeah, Kyubey is probably watching us specificlly, to make sure we don't go telling everyone it's all going to shit.
>>
>>41242659
>[]Quickly pulse to her everything you know about Chiaki's situation, let her make her own conclusions there.

I feel like this is a terrible idea for some reason.

But Kyoko.

Only way we could get her help is if she knew how dire things are. I just hope she doesn't flip out immediately.
>>
>>41242827
In MGNQ, only a Cullexus, and girls that can spec as one, can use telepathy, so unless there's one close enough and skilled enough to listen in, things should be fine.

Plus, Kyouko's skill with pulsing isn't all that well known I think, even in the 9th.
>>
>>41242867
And Kyubey.
If he hears we plan to go behind his back and steal the Golden Gun, he'll probably throw us in with Chiaki.
Actually that might be a good idea.
>>
>>41242659
>[]I don't know, Kyoko-san. But let's trust sempai. She's not going to go down so easily.
>>
>>41242867
In between the lorry's suspicious situation and our luck/Decu being Decu, we should basically be expecting coobie to be sitting right under Kyouko's bed.
>>
>>41242895
... But that's the perfect idea. If he throws us in the same cell, we can just repeat the whole Siberia arc and be done with it.
>>
>>41242867
Yeah. The pulsing ability of Kyouko is a secret that Malal herself told Kyouko not to reveal, not even to Sayaka. Only Yuma, Malal, Kyuubey and the Culexus were aware of this. Now Chiaki too, but that´s it. And of course, Midori right now
>>
>>41242659

also

[x] Quickly pulse...etc etc
>>
>>41242867
Anons are just too paranoid. With the way they're hunting for the spymaster, you'd think she offed Mami long ago and replaced her.
>>
>>41242914
Actually no, Kyouko is QB.
So is Iori.
And Midori.

It's QB all the way down.
>>
>>41242659
>[]Yes. Sempai's going to be alright. I'm going to do everything I can to help her.
>>
Watching anon try and figure out who's the spymaster is amusing.
I mean, it's obvious the spymaster is posting as anon in the thread to stir up misinformation.
>>
>>41242914
Those kinds of situations never actually happened before, you know.
>>
>>41242867
QB could hear. Also, if someone like Kyouko, who isn't a Culexus, could pulse, then so could another MG.

And this is the kind of thing that can lead to the future that Malal foresaw.
>>
>>41242925
Did she now?
Maybe she offed Kyuubey and has been running the whole operation for years? Maybe the Akashic realm never existed, and it was all just a huge group fever dream caused by a cullexus.
>>
>>41242944
That is very silly Anon, the Spymaster isn't even real.
>>
>>41242948
Decu was asked why only the Culexus can communicate by telepathy in MGNQ, considering that in the original series the girls can. He answered that he made it that way, because he wanted and for the story
>>
>>41242925
Paranoia is all well and good, however, we have to keep in mind that QB is busy handling the fallout from this crap just as much as Sayaka is busy handling paperwork and Mami is being sent to the Moon.

The odds of him listening in, right the fuck now, are pretty damn low.

Also, in this case, the risk should be worth it. The fact is that for the best chance of success, we NEED Kyouko, because she's our in with Sayaka. We need that in with Sayaka, because I'm pretty sure that the GW Vault is more secure that Wendy realizes, and actually breaking in will turn out badly.
>>
>>41242994
I´m with you. Kyouko is our best potential ally
>>
>>41242983
If the Spymaster isn't real, then why is the concept of the Spymaster real?
And if conceptual idea of the Spymaster is real, then it must exist somewhere as a force acting upon the MGNQverse.
>>
>>41242994
there is no telepathic communication inside the officio. for all we know QB doesn't need to deliberately listen in. to him, kyokos pulsing could be like someone shouting 5 steps away so hears it whether he wants to or not.
>>
>>41243071
Nigga, DYERTQ? Kyouko's pulsing has been described by a Cullexus as "screaming it out". Kyouko is as unsecured as it gets.

>>41243071
Not very convinced. Kyuubey was able to pulse the entire culexus rank from a park during his flashback, so he is very adept in the matter. I think he is very capable of sneaking in Kyouko´s pulse
>>
>>41243106
That's the obvious and most reasonable solution.
But we are in for the SHADOWRUNS, and the next possible option.
Sadly, Decu usually chooses only the third option. Something completely unexpected, something only a nippon could think of.
>>
>>41243102
I do believe that she's been training some since then, so I don't think it's quite as bad now. Plus, you guys are forgetting one thing.

We didn't vote to ask Kyouko for help. We didn't vote to give her the details on Midori and Wendy's plans either.

We voted to tell her the details about Chiaki's situation so she can form her own opinion about it. This is likely something she'd learn eventually anyway, because she was part of the mission and it's better if everyone involved keeps their facts straight. So QB probably won't give a rats ass even IF he can somehow hear this...
>>
So it's actually Chiaki?
>>

>>

>>
>>41243221
That's really up to Decu... though based on Midori's character, she would likely only give out the details that Kyouko would be able to get anyway.

Oh and guys, don't forget that Kyouko is also one of Chiaki's aids, so the whole Homusatan thing is something that she'd need to know, much like Midori herself.

Plus, her behavior now, with Iori around, shows that she can be quite discreet when it's warranted.

You decide to drop the reassurances and go directly for a pulsed infodump. Everything you know, everything you've learned about Chiaki's situation, gathered up into one barely-coherent ball of information and tossed her way. Hoping to hell that your own relative inexperience with pulsing doesn't jumble up everything and give the red-haired Eversor the completely wrong message.

It's not that you didn't want to reassure Kyoko, of course. If anything you feel horrible at piling more onto her plate, seeing as how she's got enough on hers already. But as it stands, she's one of the few people who actually cares what happens to your sempai. Enough that she deserves to know what's really going on, and if she can help at all.

Kyoko's one eye goes wide as your clumsily-organized message makes it through the tenuous connection between your minds, and she lets out what sounds like a groan of pain, her hand coming up to rest against the side of her head. The noise making Iori blink, and then immediately move to Kyoko's side, clearly concerned. Her mouth making familiar shapes, her words somehow muffled by the roar of blood pounding in your ears.

"I'm okay, I'm okay. Just...just a headache coming on, that's all. I'm alright." You hear Kyoko murmur through gritted teeth as she lies back on her bed, knocking a few of her empty snack boxes to the floor. "Probably because I haven't been sleepin' right. Anyway, nothing to worry about." She grins at Iori, before looking back up at you. Her one eye now completely devoid of fear, or horror, or hesitation. Just pure determination.

It'd save QB a hell lot of trouble. We can keep him as an ally but officially be gone or something. He won't have to worry about hiding us. Basically, the Incubators consider Homura to be an above-Walpurgisnact-level thread. Walpurgisnact requires mobilising EVERY OFFICIO ON EARTH to deal with it. Chiaki goes rogue, and you have all that plus the First Officio to fight off before doing anything.

Ain't gonna work.

>>
>>41244106
They're not Madokami cultists, those are the 2nd. No, Wendy's group is made up of Pinky Cultists. They essentially worship Faust.

The fact that they're called the 'Church of the Golden Land', and that they're a separate sect from the mainstream Blessed Lady religion should say something even to those that are less paranoid or who didn't read any Write-ups.

What would happen if Chiaki was left unattended? Would there be an emergent Homura personality who would triumph over the others and take over, or would Chiaki be reduced to a gibbering mess with all of the personalities trying to express themselves at different times?

We found out just a couple of Threads ago that he and Malal have been responsible for our Memorywipes.
We outright found out that he was playing on time and waiting for another Mindwipe to kick in so he doesn't have to deal with Chiaki possibly being Satan.

He has quite well shown that he sees us as a threat and that he has been lying to us all along. Why by all that is holy would you be worried whether it legitmizes anything he thinks of Chiaki you fucking Incubator-Apologist?

Though... if they changed into a pair of wings more suited for Chiaki Matsuda, Warmaster of the 9th, Chosen of the Blessed Lady, yadda yadda yadda, rather than the wings of Homusatan, then I wouldn't object.

>Your Incubator looks up at you before shaking his head. "The Akemi Homura I know of and chose not to tell you, Matsuda, is someone that my entire species - for lack of a better term - fears. A malevolent divinity that had very nearly wiped us and our civilization out in the seething, roiling tides of her own hatred." He pauses here for a moment, seemingly searching for the right expression to use. "A winged monster who hides under childrens' beds to prey upon them when they sleep, a cautionary tale used by parents to make their young behave."

>What? Like some sort of boogeyman?

>"Broadly, yes." Kyuubey nods. "The difference being that we know she's real, and when she returns - in the flesh, with carrion wings and in midnight clad, as you do now - we are tasked in using any and all resources in our disposal to enact revenge. Revenge for our world of origin, and those lives lost in her wrath."

>...But that means--

>"Yes." Kyuubey nods. "Once any of my brothers discover that you are now Akemi Homura reborn, Matsuda, we are undone. The rest will rally around that brother and strike with monumental force, here and now, to permanently remove you as a threat. And knowing how some of them are admirably thorough in their tasks, no doubt the entire Officio will also be murdered for the grave sin of harboring the Archenemy in its walls, and I will meet my end, executed via atmospheric immolation."

They clearly don't have this suspicion. They just have a plan what to do if it happens. They have no idea that we are Akemi Homura.

You really think Chiaki would be able to hunt down all the other Golden Weapons on her own, with a bunch of them belonging to MGs that are part of other Officios, Officios that would be out for her blood?

Are you serious?

There is NO WAY for her to survive out there on her own for more than a week before someone finds her and then everyone starts trying to kill her...
>>
>>41244738
Failed? I think Chiaki is one of the best personalities for the mission of saving the Universe. She is willing to go to the end, she has friends and comrades who will help her, and she rejects her previous past as Homura. Also, she knows quite a lot of things about what´s happening.
Yes, you can always imagine a "perfect" personality for the job, but lest be realistic: there is a very little chance that we will become that personality. I think is better to use what we have than start over with no guaranty of success

Why not?

We're fucking Satan. We could bring a few devoted people from our Officio and just go rogue with them. Who'd want to kill us? Who COULD kill us?

In the end, it's always been us or someone else powerful who's had our back. We haven't really had to use the fully capacity of our Officio to fight off an enemy. Sure, having helicopters is nice, but in the end, we don't need it to get the Golden Weapons.

After all, MGs that hold Golden Weapons tend to go corrupt anyways. Even if this isn't so, detaching ourself from the Ninth would be almost necessary to retrieve the hammer, in a way. One way of approaching it would be to just break in and take it somehow. If we were still associated with the Ninth at that point, that would give the Fourth a place to strike. We don't want that. Prevents an escalation of inter-incubator relations, too. And there'd be little reason for other brothers to help, since the incubators would just go "Oh, that's your problem."

Same applies to various other GWs.

This is implying they knew we were Satan. No one has any idea except for QB. And for reasons of self-preservation, he wouldn't tell anyone. Bring Midori/Wendy and we could hide the wings fine. No need to worry about a surprise visit from an incubator either. If the other incubators were suspicious, they'd already be looking into it.

>If what that Clara doll said is any indication, anybody with a Golden Weapon. Also Sayaka, Kyouko, and this world's Homura.
Sayaka won't kill us as long as we have JPop. Kyouko won't kill us.
And as long as we aren't shitface retarded, we can somehow grab the GWs with some minor trouble.
>>
>>41244860
If we bring about the future that Malal foresaw, then yeah, we're a pretty big failure.
With Mami and Sayaka dead, Kyouko wanting to kill us, all of the Officios and Golden Weapon users united in killing us, Pinky watching us to see us die, and the Transcendent One ready to take control so that Pinky can kill her.

Besides, Madoka Magica is ultimately a story about hope in the bleakest circumstances, and finding the best outcome when everything's gone to shit.

It's not letting it all go wrong because a shadowrun option comes up, its that the choices as flawed in the first place. You just want to go full retard and not deal with the consequences.
>>
>>41244964

>>
>>41245822
I did watch rebellion, and I like those wings on Homucifer.

HOWEVER, Chiaki is NOT Homucifer, and anything that makes her different from Homucifer is a good thing. More importantly, Chiaki's own opinion written by Decu shows that she doesn't like Homucifer's style, but she wouldn't necessarily object to a pair of wings that fly by burning the souls of the damned...

Get what I'm saying?
>>
>>41245839

>You just want to go full retard and not deal with the consequences.
I can't speak for that anon, but I've on occasion gone for the stupid option because I WANTED to deal with the consequences. Mostly in handing over our soul gem. Get Fucked was before my time, and I'm pretty sure that was just most anons riding an adrenaline high too far. Yuma the Mind Sculptor was just stupid, though I'll admit it had some worthwhile consequences. Defecting the Ninth, though, is just stupid through and through. Nothing good's going to come from it.

>>
>>41246002
Is it possible to remain Warmaster and get the Cult to follow Chiaki to an extent because of their belief that she's 'The Black Shieldmaiden'?

I mean, no offense, but your writeups don't paint the Cult in a good light, at all, and I doubt that their resources are really on par with those of an entire Officio.
>>
>>41245918
And why did people select it instead of other options to fight smart? What did they expect to have happen?

>>41245929
So you want to have to hide ourselves wherever we go, we have to drag a Callidus everywhere, essentially doing an escort mission every single time we go out on a mission or fight, or have all of the Officios unite against us.
>>
>>41246100
Decu said some time ago that we could eventually learn how to hide the wings on our own. We did a decent job of doing it with Pinky before shit went to hell, even if it didn't fool her for a second because she's a fucking insane goddess.
>>
>>41246086

>>
>>41246100
>And why did people select it instead of other options to fight smart? What did they expect to have happen?
I only stated that he wanted to insult Ribbon-Homu. I am pretty sure that when he wrote that he never wanted to charge straight-on againts an incarnation of Homura who is a happy murderer. Also, teh others anons who voted wanted to tell flip the bird to her, but not anyone voted for a direct charge. It was Decu who decided to charge blindly against Ribbon-Homu. Read the thread and you will see it
>>

Again, when the vote was to choose how to fight, and you choose to directly insult the opponent, what did you expect to happen?

Maybe if he didn't want stupid shit to happen he shouldn't have opted for something stupid.

Going with Callidus magic it´s an option. What people wanted was to made clear to Ribbon-Homu that Midori wasn´t going to take her crap. As I am saying, Decu it´s the one who made Midori charge when no one voted for it. I am sure that a second round of votes on how to approach the matter would have resulted in anons voting for stealth
>>
>>41246216
I honestly don't think Decu is terribly bothered if the vote goes one way or another. He might be surprised once in a while, sure, but I doubt he gives us an option he doesn't have a plan for.
>>
>>41246267
...and I'm saying if you yell GET FUCKED at someone your plan is probably not to immediately try to sneak up on them.

Stop trying to pin anon's jackassery on Decu.
>>
>>41246311
I wouldn't even call it anon's jackassery, it was a misunderstanding that bit us in the ass.
>>
>>41246311
Read the thread. Ribbon-Homu asks Midori to handle the other Homus. Decu open the vote on what to respond to her. People vote "get fucked" to Ribbon-Homu. And then Ribbon-Homu told the shadows to kill us. And instead of opening up another vote on how to initiate the fight, Decu made Midori charge straight to Ribbon-Homu. No matter how you look at it, Decu didn´t gave anons the choice on how to initiate the fight

Like the misunderstanding about promising Wendy that we'll be a better girlfriend this time around, then immediately breaking it.
Because that level of misunderstanding is just plain stupidity.
>>
>>41246446
What does that have to do at all with the "Get fucked" scenario?

Besides, we ARE being a better girlfriend. Just not to her. Yet. That's part of why I want to get Wendy and Midori to warm up to each other, so we can turn this love triangle into a legit menage a trois and make good on that promise.
>>
>>41246555
Totally with you, anon
>>
>>41246555
>What does that have to do at all with the "Get fucked" scenario?
Because when it was pointed out that we were breaking promises we had just made, anons said that they didn't realize we were making a promise when they voted for the option, even though that's clearly what was being said.
Just like if anons voted for a highly aggressive retort and didn't think that it would result in a highly aggressive and direct course of action, they obviously misinterpreted the vote.
>>
>>41246639
What you say about the highly aggressive option is true. But, you have to accept that in real life, when someone insults another person aggresively that doesn´t he/she is going to fight, only that he/she wants to make clear how he/she despises the other person. In the get fucked case is the same. First, Midori release stress by unsulting, and then she can think with a straight head on how to initiate the fight. But as I have posted, Decu didn´t gave us that choice. Yes, as you say, is possible that he interpreted that that answer means a direct charge. The thing is that anons only voted what to respond, not how to initiate the fight. They weren´t voting about a fight, but about a verbal discussion
>>
>>41246555
I don't know if we're Bing better, what with leaving our girlfriend a mess that she has to clean up that could get everyone killed.
>>
>>41246808
That has less to do with being a shitty girlfriend and more to do with being a shitty Warmaster.
>>
>>41246802
And the choice to make was for how to handle the fight, not just a verbal response.
That should have been, and was obvious for everyone else.
>>
>>41246886
If it was so obvious, then whey didn't another choice win?
>>
>>41246915
In 200 threads I have still not figured this out.

I think people were just riding the high of managing not to fuck anything up and assumed that this was somehow the point where they could no longer fail.
>>
>>41246886
Maybe. I wasn´t there for that vote. Still, my point is that the option on how to handle the fight wasn´t still on the table, only the verbal response. It wasn´t something obvious, and anons voted only what Decu presented them (verbal response) and not voted over a fight that still wasn´t on the table
>>
>>41246915
Because, either they misinterpreted the option because they're dumb, or they were dumb enough to think that believing something will go right will make it go right.
Most likely both.

is attarou really your bitch?
