Stage 89: Demons, Youkai, Humans, and Other Monsters.

You are about to do something you've never really done before.

Sure, you've practiced it, and yeah, you've had some skirmishes here and there, but this time, you're going to go out of your way to confront the enemy and remove them from the game. Even if it means killing all of them.

Of course, it's pretty unlikely you'll have to go that far. Most of them are human, and even with guns they're not really the kind of challenge you're used to facing. The real issue, the real ~problem~, is that some of them aren't going to be human. You've met one hybrid of kitsune and Western demon, and you'd be an idiot not to expect a few more. And while you might be an idiot about some things, this is definitely not one of those things.

Surprisingly, you managed to convince the entire group of Clan Ryo warriors that you're just not worth messing with ever again. The next time they send anyone, if they send anyone, it will be older and more experienced warriors. Still, chances are getting better and better than you're going to convince someone of import that Oba-san is not playing nice with her toys. Naturally, that runs the risk of her or her direct lackeys – and she has at least one or two, you'd lay money on it – moving against you.

But for now, you've got less people interfering in your life. That's worth the price you paid for it, which was letting people realize you're a demigod (without revealing your ties to Horobi, which you're quite pleased with) and you're armed to the teeth with magic weapons and treasures. Relatively speaking anyways. Still, four treasures is pretty significant, especially when two are weapons and the protective one is well over three hundred years old now. The fact that Akari-niji-chan is also no longer a typical Stone dragonette, carrying the blessings of the God of Oni and acting under his personal protection as she is.

Between the two of you, there's hopefully going to be very little that will stand in your way.

Unfortunately, most of what is currently in your way is distance and forest. On the plus side, you know that Colonel Friedrich Blitzenberg is waiting for his pet kitsune-demon to return, but you killed her. VERY thoroughly. So it's a good bet he's not gone yet. On the minus side, there are also a goodly number of the Tokyo Police and the Self Defense Forces involved in collecting your pet Yakuza and nogitsune-born clans. Well, not really yours, but they may as well be.

Akari, dressed in black leather hot-pants and a halter-top vest, and cute ankle boots, is collecting the two lengths of oni-forged chain she grabbed from one of the oni. You have your nodachi, a gift from Wakaba for serving as her second; and your wakizashi, both awakened as kami now. You're outfit matches your niji-chan's save for silver rivets and buckles instead of gold, and your hair is neatly knotted and pinned up.

Now, where to go from here....

[] Backtrack perfectly, saving time and possibly gathering intel.
[] Extrapolate from your location where they should be, and go there.
[] Circle out and around, come in from their backs.
[] See if you can contact Reiha-san and see what she can tell you.
[] See if Akari has any suggestions or preference.

“I realize you weren't with me when IU first spotted the abomination, but if you have any preferences or suggestions for hunting down her bosses, I'm all ears.”

Placing the pair of chains ~Nowhere~, Akari considers for a few seconds, and then shakes her head. “I can't think of any reason to not be as direct and quick as possible, aniki, but there are undoubtedly a lot of people in the woods by now, friends and enemies alike. But we're not going to get any intel on the people who sent Steinhausen at us from them.” She has a point there. “Also, the police and the SDF are both human, so we have to be more careful with them.”

“As far as that goes, if they're human, maim only outside of life threatening weapons, regardless of who they are.” She nods, the warning unnecessary but it makes you feel better to say it. “On the other hand, you can show off all you want.” That makes her smile and you grin at her. “May as well go around them and circle in from the back. There's limited locations they can part a command vehicle at that wouldn't catch attention from the SDF or the police.”

That seems to make her take notice. “Wait a minute, aniki.” She pulls out her cell phone and makes several quick, quiet calls to contacts she has. It doesn't take her long at all to find out what she wants to know. “Their command center is parked on the other side of Misakimachi Koajiro Miura Education Center. It's a short distance from the hotel. It's a large reinforced personnel van, simple brown service style van, and there are at least four soldiers keeping watch near it.”

“Perfect. Thank you, niji-chan.” She bows her head slightly, and you both take off running through the forest.

You pace yourself to her, not entirely because she's slower, but because you don't want to be any more tired than you can help being. Akari won't get tired no matter how far she runs, but she's still moving a really good clip. You, of course, are doing as much brachiating as ninja hopping, and once she's in the clear, you both make a number of very powerful leaps for distance.

All told it takes you fifteen minutes to make your way around your quarry, and another seven or so to locate the van and spot the watchers. From a nearby rooftop, you can see the two other watchers that Akari's unnamed – contacts missed....and one has horns. Small ones, but they're horns nonetheless. You pull out a disposable cell phone, and dial Reiha-san's number from memory.

“Hello?”

Oh, interesting! Reiha's number – not Reiha's voice!

Umm, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to be here when the thread ends for q&a time, so I'm going to put this request up now. Feel free to answer it later though.

Okay, basically we'rerunning a quest on another site playing as a 4th wall breaking shape-shifting servent in Fate/Stay Night summoned by Arc. One of the forms ended up being a Fire-dragonette and since I only know one I based the stats off of her. Only problem is I don't know her Barrier Techniques, although I tried to come up with my own. I think I did alright.

My request is if you'd be willing post, pastebin, or figure out a way to pm them without everyone bothering you because you shared a pm/e-mail address? Maybe a temporary one?

If not that's fine. Like I said, I think I did alright with coming up with techniques for her based off of the Style descriptions.

[+] Oh, they want to play games, do they...!
[+] Be 'someone else'

Part of the problem with being able to clearly tell an impersonator's voice from the real thing is that you can't really tell when someone is actually trying to impersonate someone else. Unless they're using actual powers or magic, you can always tell when a voice is not that of the person it's supposed to be. So you really have no way of being certain if this person is trying to impersonate Reiha, or she's merely answering Reiha's phone to see who is calling.

Of course, there is an easy way to figure that out. And a hard way too. You? You're going to do it the fun way.

You quickly gesture to Akari, and she lays down on the rooftop, pulling her laptop out of ~Nowhere~ and starting to set up the trace. It will take at least a minute for the system to boot up, and then anywhere form three to six minutes to trace the call, if your last experiences have been anything to go by.

“Good evening, Miss Reiha, I hope I'm not disturbing you tonight!” You lie down on the rooftop, looking at the clouds and the stars, and also hiding the light from your phone from the people on the other rooftops.

“No, not at all, thank you. May I ask who is calling?” Ah, impersonator. Even better!

Oh, this is going to be priceless. You gesture for Akari to record, and she looks bemused but signals she's recording. You're not sure who is going to get the worst of this one....

Unless you mean what's in the pastebin is the "styles" only

“Well, this is Nurse Nikukaizo-” Akari claps her hand over her mouth to stop any shocked noise coming out, and her eyes have gotten huge. “- with Miyafuji-sensei, reminding you of your eight o'clock A.M. appointment tomorrow. Will you be attending?”

She sounds terribly bored, and that just makes what's coming next all the worse for her, poor nameless stooge. “Of course, thank you for the reminder, Nikukaizo-sama. I'll be there on time.”

“That's very good. Oh, though, Miyafuji-sensei did ask me to remind you, Miss Reiha, that despite your enthusiasm, she really would prefer you to keep your hands above the waistline.” You can just feel the confusion on the other end of the line. “Now, we do understand that some of our patients can become, well, excited by the examination process, but that's a perfectly normal reaction. Still, it is important to let the doctor continue her work without interruption, no matter how excited you do become.”

If your ears were less sharp, you couldn't hear the other three people in the background – all men, though there might be more people with better self control – stifling their laughter. “I-I'm sorry? Ah....”

“Well, Miss Reiha, while Miayafuji-sensei DID appreciate your affectionate reaction to the gynecological exam, she IS a married woman, and naturally has to be very circumspect about such thing! So, please do keep from becoming TOO affectionate with the doctor.” You place your hand half over your phone, as though to shield the noise from others. “However, if you are free for lunch, Reiha-chan, I would be happy to assist you in, well, taking care of any lingering feelings of discomfort you might have as a result of the examination process!”

You have to pull the phone away from your head as the loud clatter of the phone being dropped from a standing position onto metal crashes from your receiver. Akari is rolling on her side, laughing in absolute silence. You hear a very loud, authoritative man telling his people to shut up and be quiet in German – not because you know the language, but because they mostly manage to shut up. The phone is picked up, and a gruff voice speaks in fluent, though heavily accented Japanese. “Now listen here, you little shit, you better get off this phone or we'll call the cops on you!”

You glance at Akari and she holds up two fingers. Two minutes before she gets a fix.

[] “Ah, so you'd be the person actually in charge?”
[] “If the colonel is there, you should probably hand the phone over to him.”
[] “....wait, Reiha didn't say anything about a husband!”
[] “I thought it was pretty clever, myself. So is Reiha actually there?”
[] “Oh, terribly sorry, I don't do men. So, care to actually let me talk to Reiha?”

What's in the patebin, as far as I'm aware anyway, is the four overall Styles she, and everyone else, has. I'm looking for the individual techniques for Kiku that she can use under those four Styles.

I know XS likes to keep things behind the scenes though so I can understand not wanting to share them. And like I said, I think I did alright in coming up with some that should work for our purposes already, so its not the end of the world if XS doesn't want to.

[+] Homewrecker, or actually interested....hmn....sympathy card time!

“...ah! I am so sorry! I didn't realize Reiha was married! Oh god, I'm so embarrassed!” You put that little catch in your voice, that hopeless little noise that screams 'heart broken' to anyone hearing it. It takes no effort at all to change from playful nurse to tragically mistaken would-be-girlfriend. “Please forgive me, if I had known she was married, of course I never would have....” You blink back tears and choke back a sob.

Akari's almost convulsing over there.

“....well, miss, I'm sure you didn't mean to cause any trouble....” Hook line, sinker, fishing pole, boat.

“Please forgive me, sir, it's just that, she seemed so kind and friendly, I really thought she would be the one, and now....now I'm trying to wreck a happy marriage....please, please forgive me sir! Words can't tell you how badly I feel! It's just that, she wasn't wearing a ring, and she was so friendly to Miyafuji-sensei, and all....” You sniffle several times, twisting the knife as deep as you can manage without overdoing it.

“Well, yes, I am sorry I spoke so abruptly, miss. Please, don't concern yourself over it. I'll speak with my wife, and make certain that she understands how she treated you.” Oh god, he's actually buying the whole thing! They HAVE to know it's a burner by now, but he actually IS apologetic!

Akari gives you the okay sign, and you grin wickedly. She turns the contrast-reduced screen to you, and it looks like they're actually inside the Misakimachi Education Center. The van is probably still the operations center, so the education center could be a trap. It's hard to say – though they do have two people on the roof of it, in two areas, so they're clearly ready for some kind of trouble there..

[] Right, playtime's over – finish the charade, and let them be confused.

[XX] Right, playtime's over – finish the charade, and let them be confused.
[X] Hang up, and discuss a plan with Akari.

You sniffle softly, and speak very quietly, very apologetically. “Thank you, sir, for being understanding.” A soft sob, and then you finish with the line that makes Akari stop breathing. “I am truley sorry for your lots.” With just the right hitch, the tragedy of the broken heart, and the softest sniffle; he mumbles something kind and apologetic, and you hang up.

Tossing the cellphone aside, you wait for Akari to start breathing in a manner that approximates normal. “Take your time, niji-chan.”

“You....you're HORRIBLE!” she says emphatically, when she finally catches her breath. “You're going to go to hell for that!”

“Already been there, left. Now, you want to tell me what we're going to do here?” She elbow crawls over to you, pushing her laptop ahead of her and you scoot back, meeting her halfway. You open your Water Eyes and Study. The floor plans: memorized. The cameras: three men on patrol, only the main building occupied, no signs of Reiha or any other Kurosune Clan or Yakuza in the halls. They are holed up in a meeting room in the main part of the staff section, so that doesn't mean too much. Five people in the meeting room including the take charge softy, so....ten total so far. One spirit-child at least, but he may not be a hybrid – he could be Japanese hired for this job, they are mercenaries after all. No visible signs of the Colonel or anyone else high ranking.

You crawl to the edge and peek over it, letting your bangs hide your eyes. Three people around the van, making it thirteen. With the weight on the wheels, that's either a lot of equipment or a lot of men. Say, half and half, so anywhere from four to six more people in the van, most likely an officer in each location, maybe two in each.

“It is a newer building – the outer walls won't be trouble, but the inner ones will. They use a lot of paneling nowadays.” Akari's ability to walk through stone isn't unique, and it explains a lot of the mixed materials used in modern design; Wood dragonettes could walk through old buildings with ease. “But I can definitely disable the van from beneath.”

“Killing all the electronics will enforce radio silence on them, as well as eavesdropping, recordings and the like. Though if we take the two on the roof, we could get a little more intel, at least until they get called for check-in.” You consider. “I definitely am enforcing the no-solo act, for both our sakes. They could have another abomination in there, and the one I fought only looked easy to kill.”

“And you are not interested in getting in trouble with Kiki-hime.”

“Well, yeah, that too.” A frown crosses your lips. “You know, they'd be idiots not to have the van warded after I nearly drowned people last time. Assume it is, for safety's sake.” That won't stop Akari from simply breaking the undercarriage, of course. “That makes it a good place to keep prisoners, unfortunately.”

“By that reasoning, they'll have wards around any captives no matter where they are, and might have traps. But a foreign sorcerer might have a different kind of logic to their spells.” Akari is right; it's possible, but unlikely they'll have 'traps' per se. Then again, it's hard to say – if they have another mixed-blood, anything might be possible.

[X] Take out the rooftop guards and get radios.

Having radios is nice, and it will help, but with that many people....checks are probably every ten to fifteen minutes. Even for your hyperactive nature, ten minutes isn't long. The nature of the checks is what will really be important; if you can decipher a code, you can answer the checks effectively.

“Operate under the assumption the person on the left is a spirit-child. I'm taking the definite spirit child. We take them, take their radios, start in unobtrusively. After their next radio check, we move.” You pull Yama-no-Musume-no-Okurimono from ~Nowhere~ and the slow witted, monstrous weapon responds to you drawing it with the slow, steady waking that will eventually become an avalanche of powerful blood-lust. Fortunately, she doesn't share that lust with you, she just wants to be used for what she was made to be used for – killing enemy soldiers.

Akari studies the rooftop for a moment, and then crawls back further after putting her computer away; you can sense her Stone Eyes open. While in your case the leap is assisted by your power, in her case it's all strength, and she has to make sure she's leaping from a braced point of the structure.

You have the feeling landing isn't going to be the same type of issue for her.

Both of you watch the targets, and sure enough, thirty seconds after one speaks into his shoulder mounted microphone, the other does. You start from a crouch, then run across the rooftop to the edge and leap; Akari can't pace you, but angled away from you as she is, it won't matter – you can time your landing to hers because of the Wind.

….you know, fifteen seconds is an awful lot of time to think. You use the winds to slow yourself just enough that you'll land almost simultaneously with her....and with your nodachi moving down as you do, you cleave the oni-born guard nearly in half, shoulder to hip, and curving out so you don't actually hit his hip bone. You do shear through his spine easily enough, which pleases you, as you pull the blade free and step back. He dies immediately, which is a relief, because if he hadn't you would have been in some serious trouble.

Whipping the nodachi towards the rooftop, the blood spatters in a perfect line, leaving Okurimono clean. Her pleasure at being used so well is gratifying, and you make note to give her extra sharpening as soon as you have the chance. You walk over and collect the radio, a helmet-and shoulder setup, attached to a radio at his belt. It's turned, and you do a quick and thorough search of the man's body with Water Eyes; no monitors, no other system of communication. Sidearm, Glock nine-millimeter, standard survival knife....there. Two kunai, attached to long, thin wire, both ending in solid rings attached to his belt. No, not just wire; it's the kind of wire used for saw-wire. He had to have been monstrously strong to use that stuff as a hand weapon.

Listening to the radio, you crouch, while Akari does the same. Her own enemy is a sodden lump of gore on the rooftop; part of the reason you gave her that one is because if she'd gone through the roof the enemy would have had to make their way across both buildings. She didn't, thank kami, but she's soaked up to her thighs in crimson. “Geh.” “Acht.” “Esse.” “Funf”. “Teh.” “Zwei.” Crap. It's letters and numbers in German. Basic and simple code – your letter gets called, you respond with your number. And, as a result, unbreakable. So you have ten minutes to find your targets and take them out permanently.

Barrier Combat aside, of course.

You try to switch to Void Eyes to search for wards, but looking through the building is like looking through a mass of Chi begin directed, redirected, badly directed, and twisted in on itself, to say nothing of the people inside it have auras that you can't decipher. On the plus side, you do learn that there are four spirit children in the place, and none of them are warded themselves.

You have to let Void Eyes drop, but you know from the schematics you have one spirit child in the meeting room, two in the van, and a third on patrol or being kept elsewhere in the building with two other people near by. Akari joins you and looks at the imperfectly bisected oni-child as you sheathe and exchange Yama-no-Musume-no-Okurimono for Ame-no-Omukade-no-Musume, which you keep sheathed for the moment. “Why did you avoid the hips?”

[X] Might have cut his radio wires. Let me check for wards, then we sneak in.
[x] Just in case. Go sabotage the van, I'll meet you on the first floor.
[+] Infodump!

“I was worried about his radio wires,” you reply mildly, as you close your eyes – all of them – and start expanding your senses through the air around you. “I'm going to check for wards. They we sneak in. There are two spirit-children in the meeting room, and another is in the courtyard in the center of the building on ground level, with two humans. There are three other humans in the meeting room, all five are enemies.” Akari-niji-chan doesn't ask how you know; she trusts you implicitly.

You slowly increase the humidity of the air around you....then in the air-ducts leading into the building. Before you were trapped in a hell, you didn't know how to do this; it's a simple way of detecting wards. If you can't increase the humidity in an area, it's protected from your power and probably most other magic as well. You have to rush it a little, the precious seconds are ticking away, but it quickly becomes apparent there is only one warded area in the building: the courtyard. The back of the van is warded, but the drivers compartment and the engine are not, leaving it vulnerable to your power.
>>
>>41245286
When you stand up, withdrawing your power, Akari has already opened the roof access door, and not using violence. You catch up to her quickly and she follows you down the stairs. You trace the building in your mind, and the movements of the people and where the cameras were looking. There aren't many – it's an education building, not a bank or a supermarket, but there are a few places that need monitoring. More importantly, is you can guess which location the first guards will be at. You signal to her that the courtyard is warded – which means there could be prisoners you can't detect through magic there, meaning the fourth spirit child is probably not a friendly – and she nods. You'll have to check that area visually; when you get close she can sabotage the van and you'll meet her in the lobby.

The letters and numbers stop being recited, and there is a long moment of radio silence, at least fifteen seconds.

Of course, by that time you're already facing the first of the human guards.

You palm a bean into your hand from the leather glove Akari and Yui gave you and flick it at him, doubling him over as the bean impacts his reinforced vest with the force of a subsonic bullet. When he finally draws a breath, Akari and you are already passing him and Akari finger-flicks the back of his head with a whipping motion, sending him crashing into the floor and unconscious, nose shattered and most likely jaw broken.

Fighting humans isn't hard; it's far too easy when you have help.
>>
>>41245304
You gesture for her to take the left hallway and you split right; a guard should be coming around each corner. The soft thump of Akari's guard going down is duplicated as you drive your sheathed wakizashi into the man's throat and then follow it with an uppercut that drives said sheath into his jaw, bouncing his brain and rendering him unconscious and concussed.

Akari rejoins you and you take the stair case down a level. You both pause as a mercenary opens the door and starts on his way up. Stairwells always complicate matters....

[] Meet him on his way up.
[] Slip past him.
[] Wait for him to exit and take him then.
[] Throw a knife at him.
[] Throw Akari at him.

She's trying her hardest to be this, constantly.

Of course, she can't protect all the smiles
>>
[X] Wait for him to exit and take him then.

As tempted as you might be to throw your best friend at him from across the stairwell, it really isn't conducive to good stalking habits. You and Akari silently slip back out of the door you just entered, and wait patiently for him to arrive. It's the longest thirty seconds of your life, and it's a relief when he opens the door.

Well, a relief for you, as you grab his throat tightly just after Akari hits him hard enough to expel all the air in his lungs. He can't even struggle – without any air in his lungs, the man just claws ineffectively at your left arm before he passes out. So far he's gotten off lightly compared to everyone else.

Moving swiftly and silently down the stairwell, you pause before entering the first floor. You send out another wash of humidity, and discover the trio has split up – two people going on direction, and the other still near the courtyard but not inside it. This, you're fairly certain, must be the spirit child. The only issue is that here, there will be cameras, especially in the lobby and the courtyard.

You slice open the carpet covering he floor, to reveal the cement beneath the passing and the carpeting alike. Sending Akari off to deal with the van, you then go to take out the two guards, before confronting the spirit child. Akari sinks silently into the concrete, a ghost through the floor, and you slip out into the hallway. Luck is against you – the first guard apparently decided he needed to come back this way for something. Luck is certainly less with him, because you give him a long distance tracheotomy with a bean before running to catch him as he falls.
>>
>>41246245
Digging the bean out of his throat with a talon, you render him unconscious by simply stopping his blood from flowing for a few seconds, and lay a basic bandage over his throat, taken out of ~Nowhere~ when you let his blood move again. It's not strictly allowed, but in this case it was better than killing him outright. You'll apologize to his ancestors later. The next guard is on his route, and you hear the beginnings of the call signs starting up.

Luck is barely with you – it seems they're starting from the outer guards to the inner guards and then up. That means you get to take the other human on this floor before you face off against the spirit-child. You sense him walking around the corner just as you step around the corner and you lay him out with a single blow to the forehead from your sheathed wakizashi.

Then it's to the courtyard....and the first call sign fails to report.

Time's up.

You step out into the courtyard, a lovely and silent Zen garden. Reiha is sitting up on top of one of the large rocks, and there are a trio of other nogitsune-children, two young men and a girl about half your age. There are weird angular symbols painted in red ink along the wooden edges of the garden, and you feel a distinct revulsion just being near them. Definitely nothing Japanese or Chinese about them – but surely sorcerer's work.

“You'd better hope it's not Ryuu Ryukusa, because if it is she'll gut you for keeping us here.” You smile pleasantly as the first alarm starts drifting through the voice as it tries to raise the third, the fourth, then the fifth mercenary. Then radio silence, as they switch channels.
>>
>>41246274
You discard the radio into ~Nowhere~ as you walk around the courtyard silently, the eyes of the trio of younger nogitsune-born on you. Reiha has noticed you, but is focused on the person she's facing, who is walking around the courtyard in the opposite direction you are. Letting you know exactly where he is, clever lady she is. You realize her real duty to Peta-chan at once: she's Peta's stalking horse, the person they THINK is in charge, while Peta masterminds it all.

“It should be an interesting fight,” says a deep voice in Japanese. British accent though, really weird. “I have been waiting for a chance to try my skill against someone worthy.”

….hmmmm.

[] “Waiting is over, then!”
[] Wait in silence at the corner of the courtyard, so he walks around and sees you.
[] Right, this is the kind of person you DON'T fight fair.
[] Switch weapons and let him think he has the advantage.
[] Use the power of Matagama-no-Shitoki to free your friends.

[X] Right, this is the kind of person you DON'T fight fair.
[X] Use the power of Matagama-no-Shitoki to free your friends.

The only kind of person who claims that they want a worthy opponent to fight in your experience are people who train themselves mercilessly, get so hyped yup on their own ego they can't actually survive failure, and then they go and pull stupid shit like threatening people you care about when they think they might lose, in a last ditch effort to prove they're the most worthy fighter.

Silently you unsheathe your wakizashi and you begin running. Not down the corridor, no – you run along it for maybe the first ten feat, and by that time you've picked up enough speed that you can go up the wall as you race around the corner, Reiha's focused attention tell you where his head is – he's at least seven feet tall, and the sheer volume of blood in his body is enough to give you pause.

Well, it would have if you weren't, like. running sideways along a wall and getting faster.

When you round the corner seconds before he does, you're running along the upper corner of the wall and ceiling, clockwise, and he's standing in the middle of the walkway. He's a massive blond giant, with a number of facial piercings and ear piercings, and small, jet black horns. His skin is almost a golden color, not the color of a tanned European but closer to that of oni. He's bare from the waist up, and it's obvious he works out hard; twelve packs aren't all that common, even among true oni. His shirt is tied around his waist and he turns to you, with really lovely eyes that are the color of perfectly ripe oranges.

But the real tells are his hands: they're gargantuan, with thick, black, ragged nails and only three fingers. He could cover his whole head with one hand, and it's amusing that he actually tries to protect his belly from you as you run down the wall at him. His other hand moves up to grasp you, but you're already moving past him, his fire-born reflexes slowed by the Western ogre size he has to contend with.

Of course, you slashed at his face several times, and he caught most of that with the hand he tried to grab you with, but that's not how you really attack him. As you whip past him you kick off the wall and drive your sapphire talons into the back of his skull, just under it, right where his vertebrae start. You feel flesh part and the muscles clamp down on your hand, but it's already too late. The momentum of the kick pushes your sapphire talons, driven with inhuman strength and unnatural speed, through the base of his brain and through his spinal cord.

As he falls forward his body dead even before his brain knows it, he gurgles something at you.

“Of course I don't have any honor for something like you. You're an abomination, and ogres and oni both are liars and cheats.” You kneel next to him, and tap your sword on his horn. “But mostly, I don't like people who threaten my friends.” His breath slowly rattles from his throat....and then he inhales, slowly.

You take several steps back, and his arms twitch. Slowly, he starts to get up, his right hand spastic and twitching even more uncontrollably as the venom from your blade works its magic.

Then he falls forward, collapsing as his massive body finally figures out, yes, it is in fact dead, and no, it won't be getting up after all.

You're sure as fuck hoping there isn't another one of those horrors around here.
