Welcome to Exterminator Quest. I'm running it today because I'm not sure if I'll be available to run Saturday at 3pm EST, but I'll try to make that date as well.>You are Vincent Esperanza, an American-born fraudster who was caught and sentenced to twenty years only to have his sentence purchased from the government by Global Exterminators Corporation. Now you work for them in Hong Kong.>Last time we took an easy job and stood by helplessly as a man was devoured by cockroaches right in front of us.Good news! I finally went ahead and generated a little setting fluff for you, You can read it here:http://pastebin.com/gGMy1KsG>Character Sheet Here:http://pastebin.com/2gx5bYkw>Rules:http://pastebin.com/iJZVBT94>Current bonuses:http://pastebin.com/0yhdrV1J>Previous Thread archived here:http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=exterminator%20quest

You stare down at the child at the bottom of the stairs. The lighting here is mediocre; there's a large window on your right casting natural light on where you're standing but everything below you is shadowy at best, so you only catch the big details. Torn khakis. A disheveled nest of hair. An unbuttoned and untucked shirt, smeared with grime and filth. This must be Jeremy Yu, the missing student you read about in the briefing on this place.Right now he's just standing there, looking into the ground in front of him. He's wheezing audibly, but he seems largely unaware of your existence. In the walls around you, you can hear something that sounds like the shuffling of papers.>say his name and ask what he's doing here>try and run past>try and sneak past (may be eased by drawing 2 points from nerves pool)>go for a takedown with your wrangling stick>just wait>write in
>page 5 and no repliesStarting to feel like I messed up here.
>>41260642>go for a takedown with your wrangling stickSmash it's head!
>>41261961You rush down the stairs and lash out wildly with your wrangling stick. Jeremy responds quickly enough to dodge your first blow, ducking and shifting to your right.Thinking fast, you pivot and imitate a move you saw in an old kung-fu movie once, bringing up the bottom of your stick with your right hand. It smashes directly into Jeremy's downward tilted head and he stumbles back a step before collapsing against a nearby wall.He doesn't get back up.>use bungee cords you picked up earlier to tie him up>leave him there>wait for him to come to>write-in
>>41262055>use bungee cords you picked up earlier to tie him upI don't trust that thing - it's probably infected with some scary shit.
>>41262104>tie upGood thing you bothered to keep those bungie cords on you after Michael was eaten. You unravel the tiny bundles they were rolled into for storage and set about tying up Jeremy's limbs - nice and tight. As you're doing this, you get a good look at the kid. His skin is pale, like he's been out of the sunlight for a long time and you pick a couple of roaches out of the inside of his clothing. His eyes are still open and you can see a cataract like growth has spread over their front. He's secure now but ewwww.Now what?>take him downstairs>leave him here
>>41262171>wait for him to come round
I get vibes from this dude for our MC.I like it.
>>41262171Take him and interrogate.
>>41262227>>41262244>take himYou pick the kid up and carry him down the stairs back to the first level, where your equipment bag is still waiting for you not far from the entrance to the school. Nearby is another small maintenance closet where you could probably toss him in and lock him up, assuming you get the key from Brother Thomas, who should still be around here somewhere.>toss the kid in the closet, find bro tom for the key>leave the kid tied up here on the ground, find brother tom, inform him that two brothers are now deceased on the third floor>wait right here for Jeremy to come 'round.
>>41262293>>toss the kid in the closet, find bro tom for the key
>>41262346>Toss himYou open up the maintenance closet and nestle him in there between the mop bucket and the paper towels. He's still breathing a little laboriously and you wonder if whatever it is he has is transferred by air.Shutting the door and turning away, you make your way over the first floor to find Brother Thomas, the man who originally called you here. You find him in the helpfully labeled main office, which you enter without bothering to knock."Mr. Esperanza? You're back already?"He looks past you, searching for someone who isn't there."Where's Brother Michael? What happened to Brother John?"You explain everything and a look of shocked horror comes across his face."That's horrible! We have to call the police- I mean, ScythCorp! I'm sure they'll be able to bring an end to this.">let him call the local corporate police, let this place be cleansed by the power of the free market>stop him, you've got this (roll 3d6 - 2 for me to convince him, beat a simple 9)

>>41262492Wait I thought the first option didn't include informing him that two brothers are now deceased.
>>41262889“Wait, wait, wait. Wait. Scythcorp is a bunch of morons who are just as likely to burn this place down as they are to solve your problem. You clearly have some kind of biohazard on your premises but they, unlike me, aren't trained to deal with that. There's a good chance they could get hurt or even become infected if they just charge in here. You don't want that on your shoulders do you?”Just saying all this is enough to fog the visor of your haz-mat suit, but you're pretty sure you see Brother Thomas draw his hand away from the phone.“What do you propose?”Well.....>I'll go to the basement and find the source of this roach infestation, they seem to interact with the fungus somehow>I'm going to interrogate Jeremy when he comes to, assuming he's coherent, since he's somehow connected to this>Write-In
>>41262992Sorry, I crapped that up. He did ask you first though.

>>41263053"Brother, I'm going to head down into the basement and see about eradicating this problem at its source. Incidentally, could you give the key to the maintenance closet near the entrance? I need to get some supplies from there."The Brother nods and reaches down to retrieve the key from a desk drawer before handing it over to you."God bless you. I'm going to give the remaining Brothers an order to stay in their individual rooms until this passes."With that, he waves you off. You can hear him make the announcement as soon as you leave, informing the other brothers that some sort of malignant hazard is loose in the school. Fortunately, his tone seems calm and reassuring enough that you doubt they'll panic... You hope.Returning to the closet, you find that Jeremy is still unconscious but that his breathing rate has increased. You think you have a little more time until he comes around and your tool bag is nearby. Maybe you should switch out some gear...>grab something from your bag>just wait for him to wake
>>41263171Your bag contains:>poison sprayer and tank>poison bait
>>41263171Switch to poison spray for basement trip.
>>41263171>>poison sprayer and tank
>>41263342>>41263274Dropping your wrangling stick, you grab your sprayer and carefully secure it to your back. It's heavy but at least you're confident that you'll have enough to get the job done.Behind you, you can hear Jeremy starting to stir in the closet.
>>41263468hail bugshota, king of the roaches.at least his eyes are immune to fungus.
>>41263468Jeremy finally seems to wake up and begin rocking back and forth, obviously trying to escape his bonds. He doesn't seem as superhumanly agressive as Brother John was, and when you see him trying to methodically slip out of the bungie cords, you stop him and speak up.“Are you Jeremy Yu?”“Yes. Who's there?!”He's looking up, waving his head around like he's trying to see you. It's pretty obvious that he can't though, since you're standing right in front of him. Apparently, whatever it is that's infesting this kid has completely blinded him.“Mr. Yu, I'm a local GEC exterminator. I've been sent here to deal with a cockroach infestation but I've encountered at least two individuals now, including yourself, who seem to be infected or contaminated by some kind of biohazard. Do you have any idea what the hell it is that happened to you?”“Ugh. Oh god. You're here for the roaches. Of course.”His words come out rapid and panicked but he sounds just like a normal teenager to you. “Jeremy, what happened?”“I'm not sure. One day I just woke up and I noticed my vision was going dark. I tried to ignore it but then I started getting these urges...”“What kind of urges?”Like I started craving places that were out of the light. Nice moist damp dark places.”He finishes the second half of that statement in almost a sing-song tone.“Okay. And what about the roaches?”“The roaches? The roaches are my friends. They take care of me, stay alert for me.”“Stay alert for you how?”“They're attracted to me... they like to ride on my body and when they see something, they... touch me.”Uh.“I see,” you say, trying to maintain a professional demeanor>ask again if there is anything, anything at all that Jeremy can remember that might have caused the contamination>that's enough from this kid, lock him up here and do your job>bring Jeremy with you, he might be helpful finding the source of the roaches
>>ask again if there is anything, anything at all that Jeremy can remember that might have caused the contamination>>bring Jeremy with you, he might be helpful finding the source of the roaches"So you don't know about the roaches eating this weird fungus then?"
>>41263613>>ask again if there is anything, anything at all that Jeremy can remember that might have caused the contamination
>>41263613>>ask again if there is anything, anything at all that Jeremy can remember that might have caused the contaminationAfter that use roach spray on him.
>>41263663>>41263670>>41263675>ask againWriting, and then I'm going to give you options on what to do with him again.
>>41263675I am pretty sure poison is poisonous to humans too.
>>41263675Fuck no, hes not a threat, hes the governments problem, not ours
>>41263675Roaches are our friends.Unless they're farming the fungus for food in the basement and just a little of it escaped. Then they're mad scientist roaches.
>>41263691We are professional exterminator, so plobably it's our problem.
>>41263733Technically hes a missing person so we should turn him over to the police who should turn him over to the hospital where he will likely be tortured, experimented on, isolated, and murdered. Again, none of this is our problem whatsoever.
>>41263686"Jeremy, I realize that we live in a funny old world and all, but people don't just wake up one day with cockroach fungus growing on their eyes. Is there anything at all you can remember that might have led to this?"A pained expression comes across Jeremy's face."I can't... remember very well. But I can kind of recall finding something in the school yard the day before everything started. It was a kind of glass bottle, and you don't see those much anymore so I got curious and picked it up... it had an odd design, almost cylindrical except for the spout but I was certain it was empty"Satisfied, you step back to consider your options.>lock him here in the closet>untie him and take him with you>spray him down with roach poison, likely killing him but removing an obvious biological danger to everyone in the area>try and sneak him out to your van>write-in
>>41263784>>untie him and take him with youor>try and sneak him out to your van

>>41263715Eheheheh.>>41263691The local government is entirely corporate run and GEC will probably want to avoid involving them. It's borderline freemarket anarchy.
>>41263784>>try and sneak him out to your vanThe light, it burns!
>>41263811>>41263864>sneak him out into the van>>41263821>death by poisonGoing to start writing for sneaking him out.
>>41263784He's gonna pop like a balloon. he's probably filled with millions of fucking bugs already
>>41263924>sneak him out to the van"Jeremy, I'm going to undo the bonds on your feet and get you out of here."He nods his assent and you reach down to untie him. Soon he stumbles to his feet, clumsily knocking around the brooms and supplies in the closet around him.Oh boy."Jeremy, we're going to my van across the street, do you think you can handle that?""Um...""It's that or you're in the hands of Scyth or MedCorp. You're better off coming with me. I'll try to make sure you don't get vivisected if I can. Now, I'm going to put my hand on your shoulder and guide you out of here."Pushing Jeremy out in front of you, you guide him through the front doors of St. Marcellin's. It's about noon now and the sun is bright enough to make him recoil. You suppose living in a damp basement will do that to you after a while.Together you make a strange couple as you march him across the street. A student in tattered clothes and a man in a hazmat suit right behind him. Luckily the street is almost empty except for a mother and her child in a stroller that spot you from the corner and quickly turn around. You load Jeremy into the back of your van, turn the air conditioning on so he won't cook in the heat wave, and lock him in.Time to head to the basement.
>>41264046Well they aren't eating him like they ate the other guy.So something's different between the two.
>>41264102You ever heard of eggs?
>>41264080The basement, naturally, is down a long, long flight of stairs. And you're not even in the part of it that's a bomb shelter yet.The actual level itself is built much like the floors above, a square walkway that follows an inner perimeter of the building. The main difference is that, instead of having classrooms inside this square, there's an enormous furnace that heats the building. Above you are dozens of pipes connecting into it, some for water, some for "coolant", others with warning labels on them you assume carry steam in the winter, though they're likely cool now.As you walk around, you notice that there are actually classrooms down here too, sticking out from the hallway, away from the furnace. Do they really teach classes down here? Finally, you notice a small space indented into the side of the furnace, seperated from it by steel mesh. There's a hatch here and there's a big old "NUCLEAR FALLOUT SHELTER" sign above it, with the archaic symbol for nuclear power above it.No bugs yet, though you're sure they're around.>check out one of those classrooms>go straight down into the shelter>try and find a way into the furnace
>>41264219>check out one of those classrooms
>>41264219>>check out one of those classrooms>try and find a way into the furnaceWe may need to kill things with fire.
>>41264219>>check out one of those classrooms
>>41264219forgot my pic
>>41264219clear the classrooms out first, we don't want to have to get trapped down in the shelter
>>41264268>>41264259>>41264253>check out a classroom or two and then check the furnace.
>>41264306>surveying everything we canYou start with the classrooms. All the doors have those ridiculous little reinforced windows in them that seem so ubiquitous in school doors but you can't see a damn thing through them.Unsure of what you'll find, you pull the doors of each room open carefully, sprayer in hand.In classroom #1, you find stacked desks. There are a few desiccated roach corpses in the corners here and there but they seem quite old.Classroom #2 seems to be where they teach some kind of religion class. There are fairly typical catholic school posters on the wall, showing Jesus bathed in holy light and a few others exhorting kids to do their best for God. There's an adjoining office and as soon as you step into it, you step on a roach. You trace its origin to a nearby file cabinet, which you pull away from the wall only to find that it has suffered some severe erosion from behind and there are gaping holes in it. There are a few more roaches here and you spray them. On a hunch, you pull open the drawers of the cabinet. Completely infested. You methodically spray through each one until you're satisfied everything is dead. As the roaches die, you notice that they're giving off little puffs of... smoke? No, spores, like the ones you saw explode out of Brother John's eyes. Weird.(1/2)
Just hopping on. Dis some good shit, OP.
>>41264443>> No, spores, like the ones you saw explode out of Brother John's eyesHE'S GONNA POP
>>41264443Classroom number #3 is empty save for a small pile of desks in the corner. It would almost be below your notice except for the abundance of roach corpses and feces coating the floor leading to and around that pile. Pulling it apart, you find an elaborately constructed mound of roach feces, in what you recognize to be the style of wild termites but much much smaller. Like this thing only comes up to your knee. Roaches are moving furiously in and out of the structure.Curious, you give it a push and it topples over, revealing perhaps a hundred roaches nesting inside with their eggs. You spray them all and wonder when roaches learned to build..
It's weird though. When Michael was infected, he became AFRAID of roaches, to the point of the reaction being completely unnatural. Like the response of prey to a predator. If the spores are the roaches he should have the opposite reaction.
>>41264557This was actually (2/3), third post is coming.
>>41264564I think that Jeremi is source of infection. I suggested to spray him, but noooo, you guys want this hard way...
>>41264557Finally, you look for a way into the furnace itself. You manage to find a small door labeled "Furnace Maintenance" in faded red on red lettering. No wonder you missed it the first time around.Stepping inside you find yourself in the presence of darkness, skittering noises, and two huge boilers.>investigate the boilers>try to find a way to turn the boilers on>back out of here slowly
>>41264675>> Find a way to turn the boilers onburn FUCKING EVERYTHING
>>41264564The fear reaction could be a means to spread the roaches. They probably lack an overmind, but a fleeing beacon could guide them somewhere new.
>>41264636That still doesn't explain why roach spores meant to mark michael for eating would also give him instinctive fear of roaches instead of making him more willing to go to his death like a proper Cordyceps.>>41264675>>try to find a way to turn the boilers on
>>41264725If infected humans are supposed to spread or lead the roaches, then eating him and only him makes no sense at all.
>>41264695Looking around, you find a panel with a handful of buttons and levers on it, including some labeled "FUEL RELEASE" and "IGNITION". You figure those are the ones you'll probably need to turn the boilers on but, seeing as it's summer and these are (to your knowledge) oil burning boilers, there may not be any fuel inside.>do it anyway>don't do it, something bad might happen
>>41264763maybe there is a genetic component, maybe different people react differently to it?
>>41264675>>try to find a way to turn the boilers on
>>41264782>> do it anywayBURN. FUCKING. EVERYTHING
>>41264725>>41264733>>41264763You guys are missing a clue and it's amusing me immensely.
>>41264782>>don't do it, something bad might happenOK check out the chittering then.Without fuel the sparks will just make them mad.
>>41264798>Burn it all!You hit the fuel release button and suddenly there's a sound like wooshing air and the skittering noises increase exponentially. By the time you smell gas, you've already pressed the ignition button.Massive jets of flame shoot out of the boilers, coalescing into fireballs that scorch the ceiling. The heat is immense and you just barely avoid being cooked where you stand.Seems like the brothers switched to natural gas, you think, and regret not checking to see if the boilers were closed before doing this. You bring your hand down on the emergency STOP button and the flames die down.On the bright side, the chittering stopped.
>>41264862Sorry buddy, should have mentioned I was already writing for FIRE.>>41264915As far as you can tell, the furnace room is now devoid of life except for you, and you're scared shitless.>Nerves (3/11)All that's left to do is check out that bomb shelter.>Check it out>You're not sure you can do this
>>41264982I'll also accept a write-in here
>>41264982Ah fuck. There's no boost to nerves except a long period of rest is there.
>>41264982>> Check it out, you got a job to doStop being a pussy, YOU GOT TO BURN THINGS, EVIL THINGS
>>41265023We don't have fire to protect us anymore.Only poison.
>>41265014Correct, though there might be items and substances you can use as restoratives. None of them are here though.
>>41264982>>Check it out
>>41265062>>41265023>Check it outWriting.
>>41265038>> Not believing in the fire god>> being this much of a plebthe fire god will protect us. We just have to have faith
>>41265083We can always do this the way that teenagers without access to stress relief do and huff glue/air freshener.
>>41264799Well I've also been wondering why now of all times Jeremy chose to come up out of the basement right after the John incident.
The canister Jeremy found, where the hell is it? Also the termite mound, these roaches are a hive mind aren't they, and are likely connected to jeremy right now, meaning hes probably stolen our truck by now.
>>41265124I was trying not to suggest masturbation since it seems unlikely to work.
>>41265083You try and pull yourself together. Hell yeah this shit is hard and it's only your first day but you didn't come this far just to give up. You came here to kill bugs. You make your way back to the shelter hatch and, with some effort, manage to pry it open. The underside is covered in roaches, which you quickly spray before checking out whats actually below. It looks like this is actually a concrete shaft going straight down. There are steel bars sticking out for you to lower yourself down with but it's totally dark down there.Activating the led built into the helm of your hazmat suit, you start to lower yourself down.
>>41264799It's obvious there are two separate hiveminds at work in this building.
>>41265192also it should be LED in all capitals since it is a shortening of "Light-Emitting Diode"
>>41265192About halfway down one of the old steps gives way and you very nearly slip down to the bottom, wherever that is. Luckily you keep your footing, but a deep sense of unease is building inside you.>Nerves (2/11) - You're fraying at the seams. When you finally do reach the bottom you find yourself in an small room, apparently an antechamber of some sort. There are about 6 lockers here, three on your left and three on your right, and there's also a door, which apparently leads further into the shelter. Roaches are everywhere and you try to spray until the walls stop moving.
>>41265295>check out the lockers>go straight for the door
>>41265200Oh wait, yeah, those roaches that emit spores upon death aren't normal mutant roaches, they're just hosts for the fungus like John.So the rivalry between them still makes sense. The non fungusy roaches are upstairs I guess.
>>41265317>>check out the lockersBrake them if you have to.
>>41265317>>check out the lockersjesus we can't take more than one more scare then we're outta here.
>>41265295We will have a breakdown, and then realize THAT'S JUST THE TUTORIAL!THE FIRST LEVEL IS OVER THERE!!!!>13 foot tall iguana covered in gore and moss waving in our direction: "What's up?"
>>41265321>> check out the lockersWhat's behind door #1?
>>41265346>>41265332>check out the lockers, there can't possibly be anything scary in thereYou go straight for the lockers and are surprised to find that they open up with little resistance. Inside each one is a fecal nest/mound like the one you found in the classroom upstairs, although these have little white fungus stems growing from them with white tufts on the end.Eughhh. You kick them over and spray until everything stops moving.Nothing left to do here except open the door I guess....
Rolled 83 (1d100)>>41265448GUIDE ME FIRE GOD, BURN THE INFIDELS
>>41265448>greentextI admit I was also thinking maybe should go straight to the final boss just to minimize the number of things we encounter. But I couldn't bring myself to risk missing something that could be helpful, however unlikely.
>stopping to get the facemasks might have saved Michaeloops.
>>41265448You push open the ancient steel door that guards the entrance to the rest of the bunker. As you do so, it seems to push aside decades of piled up filt- wait no, those are just roaches. The floor is roaches, the walls are roaches, the ceiling is roaches. You are in a huge room, no doubt some kind of area for assembling survivors. An auditorium of roaches then. Thank god none of them are paying you any attention, you'd never be able to spray them all. There are enormous fecal mounds piled up all around the room.and an especially large one in the center of the area across from you. It seems to reach up towards the ceiling...There also appear to be several adjoining sections of the bunker, which you could access by if you were willing to wade through all these bugs.>try and find something that will help you with... this in an adjoining area.>climb the mound>go back upstairs
>>41265660>> Go back upstairswe're gonna need to pray to the fire god and gain his blessing
>>41265660>>go back upstairsWe need sooo much more firepower. Are these roaches giving off spores upon death, and do the mounds have fungus or not?
>>41265660>>go back upstairsI... I think we should call into work and ask if they can send someone more experienced to help us, and maybe a flame thrower.
>>41265712forgot to add, close the door on the way out
>>41264799Oh wait, are you talking about the fact that the roach Michael killed did NOT give off spores when it died?
>>41265543That's understandable. Fortunately the only thing I filled them with was detail I had forgotten earlier.>>41265590Well..... Actually....
>>41265764Well I said might. MIGHT.Okay it still would have infected him through his eyes.
>>41265764... It would've stopped Michael from being infested, not from being eaten by roaches. It also would've meant that guy who was cut open would be possibly against us too.
>>41265757Nope. And it may have, but it is equally possible that it did not. Vincent wasn't paying attention at the time.
>>41265793Wait a minute! We never were described in the mirror as anything besides clean shaven!? My god, we might just be a writhing ball of cockroaches in a suit!
>>41265838Your conspiracies amuse me because your mode of thinking is entirely wrong. Not that they're bad... I'd say you just drove to the wrong ballpark is all.>>41265739>>41265731>>41265712>I'm outYou're not getting paid enough for this shit. You turn back, pull the steel door shut behind you, and make the climb all the way back up the ladder. It's exhausting but it's worth it to be out of that shitpit. You could go to the van and call GEC HQ or maybe grab Jeremy and see if he can help you with this. Alternately, you could call in ScythCorp and laugh at them trying to deal with this, though they'd probably just give up and demolish the building.>call GEC>get Jeremy>call ScythCorp

>>41265921>>get JeremyAhaha oh man funny story, kid...
>>41265731All the roaches you've encountered in the basement and below have emitted spores on death. Possibly the ones above too, but you weren't looking for the spore puffs then. Also the nests definitely have some kind of fungus growing from them.
>>41265921>>call GEC"Uhm, hi boss, I'm just on break from being knee deep in cockroaches after witnessing a man go insane, murder another man before exploding into spores, infecting another guy, who then immediately got eaten by cockroaches, so I was wondering what do?Also is it normal for cockroaches to be covered in fungi and emitting spores whenever they die, and for them to build hives?
>>41266017We also need some depressants for the nerves stat. And possibly fire.
>>41266044>> and possibly firemah nigga
>>41265921>>call GEC>>get JeremyProbably don't mention Jeremy yet though.
>>41234849> An extensive basement bomb shelter was added during the Cold War and apparently that's where all the roach sightings have been, although no one has been able to locate exactly where the roaches are hiding out.BECAUSE THEY'RE SO FUCKING HARD TO FIND, HUH.
>>41266166Because nobody wanted to go near them.
>>41265967>Jeremy>>41266017>Call GEC>>41266111Do both, don't tell them about Jeremy.I'm leaning towards do both as the compromise option. You can still send suggestions via write-in.
>>41266201>> like you even have to ask me mate
>>41266201Great.Though yeah ask Jeremy if he remembers the big mounds, and what's down the ladder shaft down there. And why'd he come upstairs anyway?Unless of course, he was never in the basement at all. We heard the roaches or something in the walls after all.
>>41266201There's no way you can do this alone. You carefully close the hatch and make your way back upstairs to the entrance and then out towards your van. The company phone is in the back, you have to throw the rear doors open without warning and startle Jeremy, who seems to have just been sitting there."It's just me, kid. Seems like we've got a bigger problem than I expected and I need to get the boss on the horn.""On the horn?" asks Jeremy "What's that mean?"Well, you suppose it is a bit of a dated phrase."Just shut up while I make a phone call."You find the company phone buried in a forward corner of the van and plug it into a small jack in your suit so you can speak into it without exposing yourself. The ring tone fills your skull as you call your boss at GEC.
>>41266249should've picked the>1) you burned a man to deathbackstory.
>>41266327Finally, someone picks up. You hear muffled sounds of eating and then Mr. Devlinson is in your head as well, in perfect stereo."What's up, Rookie? How's the job down at the school going?""Not so good Mr. Devlinson. I've got three dead people here and an entire fallout shelter full of roaches. I can't handle it by myself."There's a moment of terrifying silence and then,"Rookie, you asked for the *easy* job. It's not my problem or your problem if people die, not unless those people can sue GEC back in the States, anyway. I can't send anyone to help you either, you know how tightly scheduled we are! Hell, your stupid school was on backlog for three weeks!""But-""Listen, relax. It's your first day. I know buggy-wuggies can be scary. Take a few chill-pills, we pack a few of them in every Hong Kong branch van behind the folding sun-visors, alright? Now, go improvise and stop bothering me, I'm trying to eat my lunch."Everything goes silent. Well, that wasn't much help, aside from the pills that is. You quickly go and retrieve a small baggie full right from where Devlinson said they would be, although you can't take them with the Haz-mat suit on.(1/_)
>>41266553Turning to Jeremy, you ask if he ever spent any time in the basement of the school. He smiles a rotted schoolboy smile."Nope, I did spend some time under it though.""In the fallout shelter?""Of course!""But how did you get to the shelter without passing through the basement?"His smile broadens."Shafts."
>>41266626dundun.Hu is best boy.
>>41266553Make some Molotov cocktails from gasoline. We'll properly honor Fire God now. Also take pills.
>>41266626Shafts, shafts... He must mean ventilation shafts, most underground structures aren't designed as closed systems after all. Fuck, that would explain how the roaches are moving throughout the building as well."Crap, it all makes sense now. Jeremy, you're coming with me, I'm going to need you inside the school. We might be going to see your friends.""Huzzah!">take off hazmat suit in here, take pills>step outside, stripdown quick, take pills>go straight back into the school>tell Jeremy that he should actually hang here for a minute, you're going to go check the surrounding area, then step out and strip out of your hazmat suit.
>>41266698We can't afford gasoline and can't extract it from the car, even if it doesn't use hydrogen fuel cells by now.>>41266706>>tell Jeremy that he should actually hang here for a minute, you're going to go check the surrounding area, then step out and strip out of your hazmat suit.Pill popping time.
>>41266698>step outside, stripdown quick, take pillsActually, if we can close all the ventilation shafts we could, in theory, start a fire down there and kill all of them via oxygen deprivation and smoke inhalation. Oxygen is very important to not dying you see, as is not having carbon monoxide fucking everywhere. Also to anon at >>41266746, I can start listing off things that are common to a school we can start a fire with if you'd like.
>>41266746You can afford gas, though it is expensive. The van is electric. Also you have nothing to put it in.
-Paper-Spores-Propellant (found in any kind of spray can)-Natural Gas (possible explosion)-Wood-Sawdust (definite explosion)-Paint-Pesticides (We definitely have these)-Nail Polish-Turpentine
>>41266860In addition to this list, I can say that burned paint, pesticides, turpentine, or some propellents will definitely come out in a mix of especially toxic shit once it catches fire, meaning that anything that breathes it in is going to get serious damage to its respiratory system.
>>41266760>>41266746>Step outside, take pills, maybe have a look around.Writing for this atm.
>>41266913Yeah where did Hu put the bottle after he found it.
>>41266913"Actually Jeremy, let me ask you a question, after you found that bottle, where did you put it?"Jeremy makes a face again, like he's in deep thought."I guess not from where I found it. Probably right next to a garbage can in the schoolyard."Shit, you hope it didn't get picked up and taken to the dump to infect the roaches there."Alright, stay here, I'm going to take a little trip. Before we go inside together."You scoot backwards out of the van and lock Jeremy inside again. You then carefully unzip your hazmat suit and step out of it. You can't walk around in it on the street after all, it's covered in contaminants. Behind you and across the street from the school is a park with a small bathroom station. You head over there, wash your hands, and pop your pills. Then you return to the street to reassess your situation.>Nerves: 7/12 - You're still unsettled but you'll be okay. Probably
>>41267062>>Nerves: 7/12 - You're still unsettled but you'll be okay. Probably
>>41267062The hazmat suit itself you push under your van and behind one of the wheels of your truck. Wouldn't want anyone picking it up to play with. Then, looking up and down the street, you see whats around you. In one direction is a deli, a gas station, a hardware store, and a pharmacy/convenience store hybrid. In the other a library, a liquor store, and a plumbing store.>Where do you want to go?
>>41267127Hardware Store. Butane and some paint thinner should do the trick, dump bleach and ammonia if you really want to give those roaches the Auschwitz treatment.
>>41267127>liquor storePick up a flask and some whiskey.Should help our nerves in this and future missions. Then>gas stationGet SEVERAL gallons of gasolines>Convenience storeGet a box of matches.
>>41267127>a pharmacy/convenience store hybrid.I wonder if they have antifungals or fungicide to go with insecticide.
Don't forget to save the receipts
>>41267127Hardware Store. I agree. Let's go full holocaust on these bugs.
>>41267190Why use gasoline, its needlessly expensive when paint thinner and butane are cheaper. Also yeah. Whiskey would be useful for nerves.
>>41267127Adding onto >>41267180>Hardware store first then >Liquor storewe should get alcohol to help with stress.
>>41267190That seems expensive.Getting your own chill pills at the pharmacy might be sensible if all jobs are gonna be this unnerving, but we don't need them yet.
>>41267222I posted mine before I saw yours. You have a good point, though.I'll switch the gas to paint thinners and butane.
>>41267264I'm willing to bet that alcohol's cheaper than psychoactive medication.
>>41267180>>41267220Hardware Store.>>41267190Gas station>>41267190>>41267240>>41267222boozeAnd at least two for convenience store.Sounds like you're getting booze first, then maybe heading down to the hardware store to pick up some ingredients for your anarchist cookbook.
>>41267240Chill pills are designed for this express purpose and are gonna be more effective than boozing on the job.
>>41267303Even if it were, which I doubt, it'd be because it's less effective and has negative side effects.
>>41267305You immediately stroll right on down to the liquor store, intent on finding something to steady your hands and your mind. The front window is decorated with chibi caricatures advertising different deals but once inside you have no trouble locating a nice fifth of whiskey. It sets you back 20$ but you find it very easy to just slap down the cash and start sipping as soon as you hit the street. The warm embrace of alcohol immediately boosts your spirits about what has transpired today.>Total $: 2972>Nerves: (8/12)
>>41267406>forgot picYou then head to the hardware store. People are a bit alarmed as you cheerfully whistle your way through the aisles holding an eighth of whiskey in one hand and shoveling butane and paint thinner into your cart with the other. You make your purchase without difficulty, most likely because nobody is brave enough to call the Scyths.
>>41267464Don't forget to buy a lighter.Ammonia and bleach should be located in the custodial closet of the school, dump that shit into the mix and light er up and you've now got a HAZMAT situation. Of course, we need to find and seal all of the vents before we do this shit.
>>41267464>Total $: 2962Ingredients in hand, you head back to your van.Your spirits are continuing to rise as the whiskey in the bottle slowly lowers.Nerves: (9/12)>keep drinking>stop drinking, change back into hazmat suit
>>41267535>>stop drinking, change back into hazmat suitAvoid that Drunk status effect.
>>41267535>stop drinking, change back into hazmat suitA light buzz is good, should provide some mental resistance.Don't wanna be drunk, though.
>>41267535>>stop drinking, change back into hazmat suit>Offer the kid some, he probably could use it seeing hes a shambling abomination currently.
>>41267531I didn't mention it, but you have a small lighter in the van. You'll pick it up before you head in.
>>41267561Grab some tape too, so we don't have to put our hand inside the fireball.
>>41267560>>41267556>>41267553>no fun modeI'm going to have you offer Jeremy some, unless someone objects.
>>41267560Hey he's been blind for a month and he hasn't gone crazy like John or paranoid like Michael.I'd say he's doing pretty well for himself. He even made some friends.
>>41267599Too late for tape, but if you're going to raid maintenance closets anyway you should be able to find some.
>>41267599Or a rubber band.Just something to hold the button down.>>41267601Do eet.
>>41267601>>41267601No objection, he deserves it.
>>41267623Buttons. Child safeties motherfucker, do you know them!?
>dealing with vermin be like>burning down building to deal with said vermin be like
>>41267638I'm assuming bic style lighter, makes more sense to be in the van than a stick lighter. You're more likely to step outside for a smoke than you are for a barbecue.
>>41267601Reluctantly you put the bottle down and retrieve your suit from under the van. It's actually much quicker changing into it than changing out, you notice.Getting back into the back of the van, you hand what remains of your fifth to Jeremy."Here, drink this."He cautiously sniffs the bottle to see what it is and then takes a big swig before immediately putting it back down and grimacing."Thanks...," he says after a moment, "It's good." You watch him pick the bottle back up, and take another, smaller drink before cradling it between his legs. It might just be you but he seems a little... saner out here.
>>41267719>Note to self: do not drink from bottle again.
>>41267719>It might just be you but he seems a little... saner out here.Huh, maybe bringing him inside isn't necessary anymore. Not when we have our new friend mr. fire now.Does he still have roaches on him? We can test if they give off spores now.
>>41267745Fun fact: Humans are one of the most alcohol tolerant organisms on the planet. We were selectively bred to be more oxygen resistant because a human drunk on fermented fruit would be less capable of defending territory to survive and reproduce. As a result that alcohol is more toxic to the parasites undoubtedly in Jeremy's system than to Jeremy himself. Also >>41267756 we need to find and seal those vents, otherwise we'll smoke the building out with toxic shit.
You climb up to the front of the van and retrieve your favorite lighter from the cup holder, though not without rubbing yourself on the seats. Shit, between this and fungusboy in the back seat, you're going to have to get driven home in your hazmat suit for a full decon.Lighter and bomb supplies in hand, you tell Jeremy it's time to go.
>>41267786>We were selectively bred to be more oxygen resistantCambrian explosion pls
>>41267786While that may be true, there's still a high chance of fungal contamination on the lip of the bottle.
>>41267786How will Yu lead us to the vents if he's blind and without his seeing-eye roaches?
>>41267814>>41267786As your QM, I generally advise against sharing bottles with young boys infested with parasitic fungi who have been rolling around in fallout shelter ventillation shafts with roaches all day but hey, it's a free country.>>41267806You guide Jeremy inside without issue and note that the sun is now starting to sink a bit in the sky. It's probably mid afternoon now.Once inside, you run over the basic outline of your plan and then decide how to execute it.>raid some maintenance closets>warn bro tom you're going to do some serious oxidizing up in here>have Jeremy help you find the shafts before you do anything
>>41267878I don't know how I'll do it.That's why we brought the kid, who knows the general layout of the school, and can guide us around by that.
>>41267908>>have Jeremy help you find the shafts before you do anything>>41267925So your plan is for Yu to guide us.
>>41267908>warn bro tom you're going to do some serious oxidizing up in here>raid some maintenance closetsImportant question: what kind of lighter do we have?
>>41267908>>raid some maintenance closets
>>41267942No, I told you. I'm not doing it, the kid is.
>>41267908>>have Jeremy help you find the shafts before you do anythingNo Tom. If only because it might be best if he doesn't know we found Jeremy Yu at least.
>>41267908>warn bro tom you're going to do some serious oxidizing up in here be using some relatively toxic chemicals to solve there problem. Then >have Jeremy help you find the shafts before you do anything. Finally >raid some maintenance closetsRemember, as a rule of thumb, if you mix enough stupid chemicals together, bad things happen. I personally think we should see about getting some powdered soap to go with the ammonia and bleach, as all of that shit will cook off in a spectacular fashion and create some impressively toxic shit.
>>41267965You still think Yu'll be able find the vents to the fallout shelter?
>>41267986Only if Jeremy helps.
>>41268001But Yu can't even see.
>>41268029Well, not without my glasses, but I've got them on, so I should be fine.
>>41267942>>41267972Have Yu help you find the shafts.>>41267977>>41267952>Warn bro tom without alarming him>>41267952>>41267948>ignore bitches, acquire closetsSo you guys are doing everything then. I'll have you see Brother Tom first.
>>41268071Yu can hide in a closet when we warn Tom then.
>>41268071"Jeremy, wait right here by the entrance."Jeremy looks around as though to demonstrate that he can't even see that this is the entrance. How do you keep forgetting that this kid is blind?!"Uh... actually, see if you get one or two of your little friends to come to you. Stay here regardless though."You're not sure when you started trusting this kid not to run off but you hope the fifth of whiskey he's still holding onto was enough to buy his loyalty for a little while at least.(1/?)
>>41268171You make your way to Brother Tom's office again. He's still there, oblivious to the writhing mass of vermin beneath his seat. Looks relieved to see you though."Please," he says, "Take a seat, I was getting worried something had happened to you after you had been gone for so long.""Don't worry, I'm fine. I'd rather not sit though and I think you'd rather I didn't too if you knew where I've been.""Oh?""I found the source of the infestation; apparently the fallout shelter under the basement is infested and the roaches have been spreading throughout the building via the ventillation shafts.""I see. Did you find out what caused Brother John to go mad?""I suspect it's fungus carried by the roaches. They seem to emit it on death and it definitely exists in their feces.""Ah..."He makes a disgusted face before you cut him off."Brother, I'm going to need you to empty this building. I'm going to perform a fumigation on the building and I'm going to need everyone to leave for their own safety in about 30 minutes. The process itself will take maybe an hour or two, after which I will come out and tell you it;s safe to come back inside"Hopefully that's enough time for Jeremy to help you find the ducts before everyone comes rushing out of the building."Of course, whatever you say Mr. Esperanza."You leave to go see if Jeremy has gotten his act together.
>>41268339Jeremy is still where you left him and you're relieved to see he's found at least one roach. He's giggling drunkenly as it crawls up his arm waving its antennae, so perhaps the alcohol didn't fix everything..."Jeremy, I want you to show me where those shafts are."He nods and walks forward on his own for the first time you've seen since, well, you knocked him out with a pole to the face. It's a very odd gait but he seems to be confident he's not going to run into anything. Whenever he gets too close to an obstacle, the roach on his shoulder seems to tickle his neck with its antennae.
>>41268411Truly this boy has the world's least popular superpower.
>>41268436He's like daredevil, but... Shitty.
>>41268411It only takes you about ten minutes to figure out where all the shafts are. There's only one on each floor and they all open up into the larger ventillation system in the same place in each one, right over some classrooms on the outer perimeter of the school, presumably for access to fresher air.
>>41268436>>41268446Nah, Laser Butt Disease causes the worlds worst super power.
>>41268467>Kid, why the fuck are you mooning me-AHHH JESUS!
>>41268436>>41268446Well, I didn't really expect you guys to keep him as a pet...>>41268456When that's done, you seclude Jeremy in an isolated classroom where no one will find him and give him orders to stay put. Then you go and hunt down the nearest maintenance closet. It doesn't take you long to fine ammonia, bleach, spray paint, and some weird chinese cleaning product with warnings all over it you can't understand. You also find some tape and a nice long wooden broomhandle.>how do you want to assemble your bomb?
>>41268530It's be like having an ant farm.
>>41268552>tfw never had an antfarm so you play out your bizarre ant torture fantasies in online roleplaying gamesI'm on to you...
>>41268530He's the weird creepy harmless kind of crazy at least.Bomb wise, uh. Good question. We need the highly flammable stuff in a mostly sealed container with a long fuse of rags or something.
>>41268530First we NEED to seal the ventillation system otherwise the fire will spread to it, second of all we're going to want to liberally spread the butane and paint cleaner around the hive, and dump some ammonia and bleach into a mixed container, preferably a bowl or something that has a lot of space to evaporate from, before we let the fire reach it, we want this shit turning into a highly reactive gas form, where it will flood the enclosed space and start melting the lungs of anything that inhales it. The soap will act as an alkali reactant, which can be spread as a powder, this will cause acid burns to anything that is exposed to the soap. You wont be able to go into this room for years without your eyes tearing up and your throat burning, but the cockroaches will also be gone for good, alkali and chemical signals don't go together well.
>>41268623Sometimes you scare me fire anon.
>>41268623Again, I failed to mention something I should have. There were fairly heavy steel gates with latches that previously separated the shafts from the main ventilation system. They had been opened by Jeremy in the past but you resealed them.
>>41268623Uh... Yeah.That.TOTALLY beat me to it.Yup.I swear I know what I'm doing.TFW I wanted to buy gasoline and a bunch of gelatin to make napalm
>>41268617We just need to seal the room and start the burn off, the shit should spread and quickly burn off, we don't actually need to set the hive on fire you see, as the fire is the least of the issue here, the issue is that we'll be flooding the room with corrosive, caustic, and toxic substances, that will render anything even resembling a mucus membrane into jelly. >>41268648We're going to want to tape the edges of those, to make sure its as airtight as possible.
I'd suggest nuking it, but, ya know.Roaches.In a fallout shelter.WHY ARE THERE VENTS IN A FALLOUT SHELTER?!
>>41268663>Minecraft/Terraria crafting system detected
>>41268739It's a bomb shelter, not a fallout shelter.
>>41268623Goddamn Fire Anon.Judging from your post and this post >>41268617 , you're going to need some kind of large sealable container which you'll place in the middle of the hive, maybe a trail of butane and paint thinner leading to it, and I'm not sure exactly how the soap gets mixed in, but it sure sounds nice.
>>41268636The funny thing is, the mustard gas thing came from some bullshit crystal making recipe that was posted on /b/ , coupled with the fact that upping concentration and reaction heat increase the rate of reaction. The rest of this is basic HAZMAT knowledge that every fire fighter learns. This is also why fire fighters all are monitored for pyromaniac tendencies and are background checked.
>>41268623>. You wont be able to go into this room for years without your eyes tearing up and your throat burning,That seems like an unfortunate side effect. Isn't burning things enough?
>>41268776Actually, burning things would be worse, a sustained burn would likely spread to the entire building if you wanted to purge the entire hive, as well as cause massive structural damage from heating of things, this way we're just making several rooms already filled with highly toxic highly contagious fungal spores unihabitable to any complex form of life. They were already unsafe for people to be in without becoming abominations. Now they'll just be plain unsafe.
>>41268753Nah, man. I partially know my shit.I'm just applying the principles for making aspic to gasoline.I have no idea how we would cook it to dissolve the gelatin, though.
>>41268817Cooking its a non issue, the point of the gelatin is that it'd absorb enough gasoline and still act sticky so that the napalm would stay on your selected burn. The problem is we'd need a shit ton of napalm, we really don't need nearly the same amount of chemical to give them the Nazi Shower Treatment.
>>41268817No, really, do it Terraria style.Go kill some slimes for Gel, since the Goblin sells Rocket boots he probably sells fuel, too so pick some up from him.Slap them together WAM BAM BOOM, sticky combustibles.
>>41268769You sit down and make a list of every last thing you'll need to make this work. Then you go and get them. You find an enormous mixing bowl in the cafeteria kitchen, large enough to hold a few gallons of liquid and you "borrow" a priest's vestments to make a nice long fuse of rags.
>>41268876We'll need more of those pills if we're going to find a goblin.
We...We could just poison everything the way we've been doing with our insecticide wand. It's not like there's gonna be a giant monster we need to use the bomb on.
>>41268895...We should probably delete all the security camera footage from today when everyone is out of the building.
>>41268921We are poisoning everything, the point of this is to create poisonous smoke. Not fire. We're just using a better poison. With a less advanced delivery system.
>>41268895Returning to the shelter, you spread your butane and paint thinner around the hive until you've emptied every container of the stuff. You make sure to soak the vestments in some of it too, before it's all gone. You once again retrieve Jeremy and sequester him outside behind some dumpsters where no one will see him. Hell, he'll probably make some new friends there. It'll take the edge off what's about to happen.
>>41269009Hahah yeah. Now I wonder if there's anything to discover in the side chambers or the mound before we blow it all up.>try and find something that will help you with... this in an adjoining area.>climb the mound
>>41269009Back inside, you carefully seal off all the ducts again with a truly generous amount of tape. Then you go and retrieve your mixing bowl, just barely managing to fit it through the shaft down into the shelter. You make two subsequent trips for two two gallon containers of bleach and ammonia respectively, then carry this whole arrangement to the center of the hive.
>>41269077You put the bleach in first, then the ammonia. You hope that's the order it's supposed to go in. You've never done this before after all. Hell, this is what you were always told NOT to do. It takes just seconds for the gas to begin to form and you quickly dip the priest's vestments/fuse into the side of the bowl before dashing back to the steel entrance door.
>>41269188At the door is that weird canister of Chinese soap, which you just decide to roll back in there like some kind of grenade. You take out your prized lighter and a rubberband. You flick it to life with trembling hands. A single roach stops to watch, waving its antennae curiously at you, unprepared for the holocaust that's to follow.
>>41269284>At the door is that weird canister of Chinese soap, which you just decide to roll back in there like some kind of grenade.Ha.>>41269284>You flick it to life with trembling hands. A single roach stops to watch, waving its antennae curiously at you, unprepared for the holocaust that's to follow.Ahahhaha.Man our poor poor prized lighter.
>>41269284You toss it through the door and then climb back up the shaft. You've barely made it back up and closed the hatch when you hear the explosion. It sounds like the world's largest gas oven FWOOMPHING on.
>>41269330Then you hear a crackling noise, presumably heralding the burning death of untold millions of cockroaches at once. You've won. Goddamn it, you've won.You head back upstairs to make sure everything is okay and you're fairly sure it is until you hear a loud POP from somewhere up above you.
>>41269398Uhoh. Did the roof just burst.
>>41269398Running upstairs you check each and every one of the ducts. They all seem to have held, so what was that noise? Then you have a sudden brainwave: there might have been another duct on the roof. Fuck.>Go check it out, try and seal it now.>better just to maintain plausible deniability. Like your boss said, it's not like anyone can sue you.
>>41269330In case anyone was wondering what the fate of this hive will be, anything flammable and exposed to ""open air"" will burn, anything inside of the walls will cook, the interior of the hive which was cruelly spared the burning death from the fire by good ventillation will be rapidly deprived of oxygen and replaced with carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sodium carbonate, and mustard gas. Organs and fungi inside will rapidly turn to soup as the caustic and corrosive substances get to work. The majority of bacteria and complex proteins will break down in the area here. It will take a HAZMAT cleaning crew weeks to fix the damage we've wrought. However, it will take a conventional HAZMAT crew. As opposed to one with machine guns and wrecking balls. >>41269453Fuck.>Go check it out.Sealing it might be too late now, lets hope that the heat bleeding off isn't too much. If theres anything flammable or organic around it it'll be fucked. Also that smoke is HIGHLY toxic.
>>41269453>>Go check it out, try and seal it now.In fact there might have been roaches on the roof already.
>>41269453>>Go check it out, try and seal it now.I forgot, do we have a gas mask?
>>41269499>>41269495>try and undo the horror you've wrought
>>41269517You're wearing a corporate issue hazmat suit from the future. It's not stylish but it should protect your lungs.
>>41269548Mustard gas doesn't do much to things that aren't living, and alkali wont do much to hydrocarbons (plastic assuming thats in our HAZMAT suit). We would need a way stronger chemical than soap to do serious damage to the suit.
>>41269530You barrel up towards the roof to find that there was definitely a vent here once. What's there now is basically a smoking black pit from hell with a fairly destroyed grate next to it. There's a large satellite or radio dish on the edge of the roof, it might be large enough to cover the hole,,,,>Get the dish>go look for something else in the school>give up
>>41269651>If you get the dish, roll me 3d6 with the option to spent two stamina points for a plus one modifier. Beat 11.
>>41269651How big a hole are we talking OP?
Rolled 5, 3, 4 = 12 (3d6)>>41269651>>Get the dish
Rolled 6, 4, 2 = 12 (3d6)>>41269651>Get the dishFuck it, take it outta our pay.
>>41269690I want to say three and a half feet.
>>41269651How high up are we also? If we're more than four or so floors and the hole isn't THAT big than I vote >give up>>412697183.5 by 3.5 feet? Or is it just a 2d object? If its only 3.5 by 3.5 the smoke should mostly disperse before anyone dies from it. Also it wont make our plan fail.
>>41269693>>41269705That was close.
>>41269738All this would be true were you not in Hong Kong and surrounded by tall apartment buildings.>>41269705>>41269693These are definitely good enough rolls for success. Writing.
>>41269776Oh... right... we are so completely fucked.
>>41269776>grab the dish! You run over and leverage your strength and body weigh to yank it free. It's actually really heavy and probably contains a lot more metal than you originally thought. You haul it over to the hell pit and carefully push it over it. There, now all you have to do is drop your equipment back at HQ, debrief, and go home. Oh, and find somewhere to take Jeremy.>head straight back to HQ, bring Jeremy in with you and turn him over to GEC>try and sell Jeremy to some other megacorp>try and take him home with you, hopefully without setting off a scenario similar to what happened here>release him into the wild
>>41269886>>try and take him home with youThis sounds fun. Let's see how much he can control bugs.
>>41269886>>release him into the wildHes the student of this school, therefore he is there problem.
>>41269931We just need to buy extra shower curtains, and bleach, and give him a bath.
>>41269978Hes got a lot of problems, and definitely needs treatment for cataracts at a minimum, after that he should be able to see again, with glasses. However, more concerning is the fact that some sort of fungus appears to have integrated with his nervous system.
>>41269886>>try and take him home with you, hopefully without setting off a scenario similar to what happened hereWe can always sell him for some magic beans later.
>>41269886>head straight back to HQ, bring Jeremy in with you and turn him over to GECCan't turn him wild, or the fungus might spread. Here kid, let's go on a field trip to a science lab.
>>41269886>>head straight back to HQ, bring Jeremy in with you and turn him over to GEC
>>41269931>>41269945>>41269978>>41270012>>41270032>>41270061>>41270076Counting two for take him home with you, two for bring him to GEC, and one for Free Willy.I'm actually going to take a short break and let you anons debate a bit more before I decide on writing. My head is killing me.
>>41270012It leaves him completely lucid though, if light-averse.It doesn't seem hard to keep it from spreading, he's not exactly breathing spores.
Rolled 1 (1d2)>>41270141I'm undecided.1 for keeping pet bugboy, 2 for free willy.I don't think we should bring him to GEC because technically we did our job already, got rid of the roaches. Nothing about bringing our bosses new research subjects.
>>41270304Why do we need him?
>>41270263Do we know that? As far as I'm aware he might actually be breathing spores.
>>41270337Interesting pet with freaky mutant superpower? Not need-need but he seems fun. The bugwhisperer.Maybe he can have a bug spy network someday.
Have we considered asking him what his opinion on this is?
>>41270304>>41270337>>41270424>>41270434>>41270446You guys may want to re-read early descriptions of Jeremy before making a final call.
>>41270502Simmons, haven't you gotten by now that 4chan is functionally retarded when new mascots or party members are on the line?
>>41270434I would refrain from keeping a pet that could lay eggs inside you when you sleep.
>>41270012Fun fact: this image here. >>41262171 is actually a corneal implant that got fucked up bad. Those black lines around the front of the eye are actually stitches.
>>41270522I thought it might be, but it came up when I searched eye fungus. How does one stitch up an eye, anyway?>>41270518I'm biting my tongue pretty hard for now.
>>41270520That's what locks are for.
>>41270592Just say it, hes a highly contagious highly volatile biological bomb waiting to go off, and we should not store said bomb in our fucking place of residence.
>>41270633For all intents and purposes yes, but you could ostensibly prevent him from going off with the right precautions. There would still be risks though.
>>41270592It generally involves putting the patient under anesthesia first, then using curved sutures to go through the front, through the side of the eye, and then you tie it off. Then, lots of viscoelastic to stop any leaking. There's some other steps too, but don't want to go into too much detail.
>>41270633Well, anyone can use HEPA filters and antifungals.
>>41270689If you have time, I'll take the detail. I'll take it like no ones ever taken your detail before.>>41270668>>412706332 more minutes and then I'm calling it unless more votes roll in. I can't wait to tell the story of how I dangled a nice slobby asian chick in front of /tg/ and they chose a HS age cockroach boy instead.
>>41270741Calling it for keeping him.
>>41270633And we can always sell him out later.Until then, I hope for the fun option.
>>41270782We're so fucked. I can't wait for this to blow up in our face literally.
>>41270741Feeling lazy, here's a vidhttps://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=517SoY62Bw4Oh and jsyk that could have well have been a fungal infection in that pic. There was certainly an infection of some sort with the front of the eye.
I say we tie him up, put him in a trashcan and then drown him with bleach
>>41270845Right around 3:46 you can see the sutures inserted in and the transplant tied down. Another fun fact: that eye tissue came from a dead body. The cornea is for the most part devoid of blood vessels which helps with rejection issues. It also helps with infection, so obviously you only do this in a hospital OR.
>>41270782After you feel enough time has past, you call the brothers back in and tell them the building is now safe to traverse, provided they don't go near the air ducts for a while and definitely don't go up on the roof. This garners you some confused looks, but you assure them that a GEC Hazmat team is available at a reasonable price for them if they are so concerned.Once that's taken care of, you retrieve Jeremy from his hideout back by the dumpster."Kid, there's nothing left for you here. I wiped out every last roach in that building. You couldn't even reassemble a roach from what's left. Now, you can either come back with me to GEC HQ or I can let you go somewhere, far from society. The Brother's here can't care for you and-"You cut yourself off when you see that he's looking right at you with tears in his swollen, heavily infected eyes."No, look I-"He adjusts his look up an inch or two so that it actually meets your eyes and not your chin. You feel an incredibly rare welling of guilt occurring in your stomach."Alright, I never thought I'd say this, but come get in my van and I'll have us drive to GEC HQ for debrief and then you can come home with me, alright?"He nods happily and the lot of you, you, him, and the four or five roaches he picked up playing by the dumpster walk back to the van as the sun sets above the park. And ever so faintly you can hear someone screaming in an apartment building.>TERMINATE THREAD
>>41271013Thanks op, see you Saturday.
>>41271013I swear, our MC is a nicer version of this guy
>>41271013I'll take any further questions here and the Quest will take this entire weekend off before resuming at around 3pm Monday. I'm booting up that eye suture video now.
>>41270831Okay it might end in disaster. But still.
>>41271052I'd love to but I can't. I have obligations, unfortunately.
>>41271071>>41271088That's probably the most appropriate use of that reaction image I've ever seen. Between getting patient zero drunk and taking him home and nearly blowing yourselves up in the boiler room, there's a chance that we won't make it past 4 threads. But I believe they will be brightly burning threads, so that's okay.
>>41271059How long is Vincent on cyberpunk-future chain gang duty for?
>>41271183Well his sentence was twenty years but was snapped up by GEC almost immediately, since it was a non-violent offense. He spent maybe a year and a half in actual prison, so you've got 18 and a half more years to go, maybe less if you meet your corporate quotas.
>>41271483Or the Apocalypse happens.
>>41271578We're not gonna cause THAT big of a disaster.
>>41271578Or you find a way to safely defuse neckbombs. Anything could happen, anon!
>>41271674Grow a beard. Why else do you think shaving was an important question at the start?
We can just give the kid a space with plastic tarp on the floor, hepa filter, and a radio to listen to, somewhere where the sunlight can't get him.You can have diatomaceous earth spread around the apartment to keep bugs from visiting or leaving his closet, if he has any. It kills anything it touches that has an exoskeleton but is nontoxic to anything else.
>>41271768I... don't know...Just kidding, I do.
>>41271801Dude, bubble boy with good filters, tinted bubble, and a roach pocket for eyes.
>>41271819Almost had you there, didn't I?I'll get you soon enough, QM.
>>41271823I wonder if he's strictly roach empathy, or what happens if he meets a preying mantis or something.
>>41271858A mantis is a close enough relative of the roach that that might work.
>>41271858>wanting to be friends with those hooked pricksFuck those dudes, roaches are actually quite clean and docile. When they aren't possessed, anyway. That being said, we totally need to get Roach-boy a bubble-suit.It works because he is totally sick, and no one would doubt that.
>>41271925Well as long as whatever it is we allow doesn't get the chance to lay eggs. Can at least give him sunglasses and a facemask; it's Asia, Asians totally put facemasks on when they're sick.
Oh, and you guys forgot something very very important.G'night.
>>41272121To look for roaches on the upper floors?Destroying security footage? I suggested deleting security footage.
>>41272121To burn the skeleton and the corpse?
>>41272213You know that bat and frog fucked.
>>41271913Oh right and termites are also closely related, hence the termite mounds structures.
>>41271013>as the sun sets above the park.Ah off into the sunset.>And ever so faintly you can hear someone screaming in an apartment building.Uhoh, his landlord sense is tingling.
>>41271843It didn't seem to give any listed bonuses to social roles, so yeah I'm wondering about it too.
>>41272534>Uhoh, his landlord sense is tingling.Or maybe that is a home being invaded by hivemind roaches.Did that cross your mind?
>>41272586But that can't be happening right now since they were all killed just now.
>>41272720See >>41272121Clearly we fucked up SOMEWHERE...OH SHIT, THE BOTTLE!
>>41272769The bottle was last seen a month ago, there's no way we'd be able to find it again even if we tried. If it got picked up with the garbage it's out of our hands.
>>41272794>>41272769I was thinking the obvious answer of "they weren't all in the building" or "it didn't actually kill them all"Since those are highly likely, since we performed the most unprofessional fumigation ever. What if they were IN the air ducts when we taped them shut? What if they were in piping going to other buildings, sealed for the most part from the gas?So many options.
>>41272794We should have at least checked for it.
>>41272853I thought that was what "go check the surrounding area" meant honestly, not a shopping trip on how to Fuck Roaches' Shit Up.
>>41260875You might want to get a twitter in case running times change last minute.
>>41265188The range of Jeremy's empathy doesn't seem to be very far, it turns out.
