.......... You dream of the sky eater, of the journey here, of oil and smoke.

Your dreams always get the best of you, you should have listened.

Never sleep in the open road, The sound waves will get you, the song of the Sky eater will consume you to the core if you're not safe...

But then again, now you know, And that just gives you more resolve to keep on knowing, to keep discovering whatever it is you want to discover

_________________________________________________________

You wake up inside your truck, alone as always, looking towards the horizon of the Paradiso-Bastardo road, looking at the small plateaus forming in your line of sight, your truck, formed from various parts, like everything else in sight.

In front of you lies the Paradiso-Bastardo Road, Basically the one that people consider the most safer, perfect for you, you liked safe things as much as the next guy.

You try to remember what you had to do for the day, the desert likes to drain the memories and dreams of people, You believe it is supposed to be some kind of aperitif for it.

From the window of your truck a powerful light goes through your patched clothes and directly into your eyes waking you up for good.

You look into your person, your gear, your cargo (20 kilos of food, 6 liters of water, and 2 gold bars) and your log.

>(cont)
>>
>>41352599
Your log holds a card from the cargo you found in the middle of the road

>To whoever receives this letter
>
>Head towards Bastardo and deliver this cargo
>You will be well rewarded
>This cargo is from the sons of Devolver, so you better not steal it
>Super sorry for this inconvenience!
>
>With love
>Colonel Mcdonnel

Normally you would just keep it for yourself, But this is the sons of Devolver were talking about so it's better to just give them what they want

>LORE UPDATED
>Sons of Devolver: Considered to be the greatest army that has passed through the desert, the sons of Devolver are the original founders of the Devolver and its protectors, people that normally challenge them are shunned by society and hunted down like freaks on a witch hunt, Despite the threatening image they give, they're actually a very reasonable army to reason with, mostly thanks to its down-to-earth generals and their carefree command center

Now what were you going to do? Damn you had it on the top of your tongue!

>Roll 1d5 for MND Stat (MND Stands for mind, How well do you think, how well do you work with foreign objects, how do you handle stressful situations, and how much knowledge in general you have, It also represents how well the components of your truck work)

Right! Had to fix that damned radio, You'll probably do a more thorough search of what's wrong when you arrive to Bastardo, But right now what was important was starting this baby quick, The noise of the engine beats the noise of the desert any time of the day

You yawn heavily and look at pilot seat of your truck, filled with different things that would make the desert somewhat bearable. Throwing the stuff from the seat and into the cabins floor you start the machine leisurely, Looking at the desert all the time you do it

Just like clockwork, the truck spins to life and recovers its once asleep motor's noise.

With easy looks towards the control panel to see if everything's right you drive out of the ground you parked from and into the black gravel filled road heading straight toward Bastardo

While the trip will be completely uneventful, you're happy that it will be completely uneventful Since you can actually rest easy from most of the madness of the deeper roads

>See if you can find something on your broken radio
>Eat a snack on the floor
>Contact any nearby truckers, if there are any

Guess you could always try and see if the radio can pick up any signal.

You turn the knobs of the radio, its open spaces filled with dust and reeking of old memories and past times, you try to turn the knobs subtlety and carefully like the soothing of a baby, then strongly and reckless like a virgin's first time.

All and all, it's dead, it has stopped living and ascended another plane of existence, its deceased, it's an ex-radio, it shall never live again, a notice will be given to the radio's family. goodbye radio, you made your owner proud.

Tossing the radio aside you look at the road and a sign indicating that Bastardo was still 250 km away.

Well at least those 250 Km will be full of nothing, just how you like it

>(cont)
>>
>>41353849
Night is Falling, that's good! Only 10Km left, You can probably get there in time for dinner!

>About time skip: Time skip will always happen depending on the safety of the road, the more safe it is, the more nothing will happen

"Hey buddy!" A Threatening female voice yells from your open-network transmitter "State your business! Or prepare to face the consequ-"

"Cargo delivery, ma'am" You say easily, Cutting the woman's speech as you start adjusting your eyes to the rising moon

"Cargo delivery? huh, you come from the Sons of Devolver?" The woman says, apparently not bothered to be interrupted, she must get interrupted a lot

"That would be right ma'am" You answer calmly

"Hehe, well you're a new truck. So I gotta put you on the records" The woman's voice says easily as she seems to make some shuffling sounds and pencil taps on her side of the transmitter "It's not too much, just need to look at your truck, maybe how people call you, you know, some sort of nickname?"

"Nickname?"

"Yeah, how people call you, there's lot of people around here that don't like to use their actual name, Thought you might be one"

"Why don't I use my real na-"

"Trust me honey, you don't want to use your real name"

"Call me Lily" You say, really the nickname just came from the top of your head, "Yeah, that'll be my nickname, Lily"

"Lily..." The woman says from the radio "....Frankly, it sounds stupid, but okay Lily it goes"

"Yeah, thanks" Okay in retrospective it does sound kind of stupid for a trucker's nickname, but whatever

"Welcome to Bastardo then "Lily"" The woman says as a huge gated door opens. "The dock is on the far end of the place, turning left"

>LORE UPDATED
>Bastardo: Bastardo is the place where bandits go to retire, Bandits from all around the desert go to Bastardo once their work is done on the highways, the village is essentially inhabited by different kinds of tents, houses and vans, unlike other cities and locations, Bastardo has nothing near a proper infrastructure or actual building committee, it's really just people setting up around whenever they want, however they want, and leaving the same way they came (a lot of them leave, a bandit's habit die hard you know?)

>Head straight to the docks
>You're lazy, go to the saloon and drink something, Hey! You deserve it!
>Find someone that can fix your radio first, gotta have priorities
>>
>>41354415
>>Head straight to the docks
Gettin' paid nigguh!
>>
>>41354415
Better head straight for the docks, no use in dawdling around.

The docks are essentially a small company of people that have very good eyes, coupled with a small gang of bandits carrying around 20 kilos worth of weapons and ammunition, You try to see someone who might be able to talk to you amidst the usual turmoil of talking, dealing, fighting, killing and else

By the time you reach the docks a woman in her early 30s shouts at your general direction from a distance where shouting would be accepted

"Hey buddy! I received the message! You're the fucker that's supposed to deliver the supplies, right?!"

"That would be right!" You answer with a relaxed face, shouting as well

"Fine! Leave the cargo inside the garage! I'll go fetch your money!"

>(cont)
>>
>>41354686
A few minutes later and your truck is safely stored , cargo being brought down by massive burly men and 1 or 2 cactuacars, as you look at the set piece of muscles moving the cargo left and right.

Suddenly the pink-haired woman interrupts you "As promised 500000$ Duolons" She says while handing the tightly pack of money on your hands

"Only 500K ? I thought it would be more considering the trip" You say, a little bit indignated by the lack of money in the delivery

"Well you weren't exactly chosen to BE the deliverer you know? Lots of people are happy with 500K."

"Hmmph. Fine, Hope gas prices are low today"

"Oh yeah, I heard the radio! Paradiso's gas prices are really low right now!"

Right. the radio

>Ask for a place to repair your radio
>Go on your own and find a proper place, Nepotism runs wild on Bastardo
>>
>>41354864
find your own place, you get things done. ...besides, we loved that radio.
>>
>>41355058
Yeah, You might trust the radio on someone's capable hands, then have your money stolen as well as your radio, might as well just try fixing it yourself

"Well... Come back any time you want!" The purple-haired girl says as you start getting into your now empty truck "Just look for the name Hannah if you need me!"

"Yeah ....sure" You say as you turn on the truck and start leaving the dock, your wallet now bigger than last time and your radio still broken as fuck.

You could try fixing it... but then again you knew nothing about radios, hell it could explode in your face and kill you for all you know

>Fix the radio yourself (MND test)
>Go to the saloon and spend some of your money on pure unadulterated drinking
>Find someone to actually fix your radio

You take the busted radio, some tools you found inside the truck, and a good amount of ductape in case things go wrong

You tinker with the toys, you play with the stuff that does stuff, You heard something go alive with a loud PING!! But otherwise didn't kill anyone in your immediate vicinity so that's cool.

You turn on the radio, expecting the sound of silence to cover your ears again, but miraculously the radio comes to life and gives off a warm sound of static before setting in on a random radio station

"Hey, hey, hey! DJ K-Billi in da house pouring you the best sounds of the wasteland! Now I heard you fuckers are all up in your cribs thanks to the..." You ignore the sounds of the radio only focusing on your truck

You really had nothing much to do, you've been working solo since you started and accepted any job that came by, so really there's no place you need to go back to, maybe Paradiso because the gas is pretty fucking cheap, But apart from that? nowhere else to go.

>Stay in Bastardo for a while, look if there are any job openings
>Go to Paradiso, maybe there's better work in there
>Think of it tomorrow, you wanted to spend your money NOW

"Hey Hannah!" You shout at Hannah as she seems to start leaving the area "Got any Jobs recently?!"

Hannah seems to give it some thought before shouting at you "Yeah I think I got some for a rookie like you! It's fairly easy! Just deliver some supplies to retiro del bandido and come back here! You'll get your payment once you finish it!"

Retiro del bandido huh? Fairly easy job, it's not that far away and it may prove to have a little bit of enlightenment

"Count me in!" You shout at her accepting the job "When do we start?!"

"I'll give you the details tomorrow morning!" Hannah shouts at you again "Take some rest i the meantime!"

Yeah some rest, you could use some.

With tired eyes you drive your truck to an alley and sleep

Hoping to have a dreamless sleep this time

>And that's it! This is my second time starting a quest (I'm currently doing a fire emblem quest at the moment) But if you want to keep on this thread just follow my twitter at https://twitter.com/nerokiller12 (I will try to manage handling both quest at the same time if I can)
