Now we left off here.
They find the homes, farmsteads, forgeries, and fortress near untouched by time. Even the tapestries detailing dwarven history going back 3000 years are still in workable condition.

Quickly the short folk settle into their new homes and plan for the no doubt hard and challenging winter living up this high.
>384 dwarves
>218 Men
>118 Women

>Enough food for 10 turns
>The men have enough arms for all, mainly being battle axes and shields plus the odd spear
>Advanced mining, ad forging, good construction, basic golem work, basic firearms/explosions, basic engineering, farming, basic medicine.
>The dwarves of our clan are known for their shield and axe/hammer/ spear combo

The dwarves take in their new home, from the abandoned fields, the deserted mines, and the desolated fort. The absence of present life is eerie in a sense, but the hardened folk shake off their nerves and go about their duties.
>CONSTRUCTIONS FOUND
>10 abandoned winter rye and carrot fields (unplanted)
>5 mines (3 iron, 1 gold, and 1 silver)
>1 smithy and workshop (repairs are needed
>2 wells
>stables (need to be cleaned)
>farmhouses
>Barracks and armory (nothing remains, not even bunks.)
>Railway (caved in)
>Factory ( dilapidated)
>1 fortress with walls, and gate.
The land around you is fairly cold and snowy, but that is because you are fairly deep into winter

45 seems like a partial success or not complete failure(depending on how you look at it) to me I don't know. Unless you are one of those guys who everything is critical success or critical failure in which case why don't I just flip a coin?

I'd say try reclaiming the fortress first. better to have shelter before trying to farm in the middle of winter
>>
Rolled 49 (1d100)

>>41596343
I see your point, I'd rather move everyone into the barracks if we can all comfortably fit, I don't know how big it is. Otherwise the fortress.
>>
So a 49 for reclaiming the fortress?

Yes.

With the ever growing threat of the icy jaws of late winter becoming ever closer, finding a way to shield the clan from the harsh outside elements becomes top priority. Ulog urges the dwarves to bring their belongings and such into the fortress to both be protected from the cold, bitter, winds, and to better aid with the reclaiming of the settlement.
While it may not be much right now, it will no doubt become better, besides the that stew on the fire smells gourmet, eh Olaf?
The corridors, halls, and chambers of the fortress are enough to house all the dwarves, but it is a little snug. We would have to expand more if we want our population to grow.

>Dwarves are now protected and housed
>Morale has improved
>No longer will I have to do rolls to see if someone dies in their sleep!
>You further fortify your place in the world.

Stored meats, vegetables, grains, and such. You have no influx of actual fresh food, only stored provisions.

The dwarves head out to the abandoned fields and gather up the seeds and plows left inside the farmsteads. From there they tackle up the oxen and plow the fields full of rich mountain soil.
Sowing the rye seed and dried carrot bits into the fields go off without a hitch, but only when spring comes will they see the rewards of the their labor and toil.

Scout out the mines for hostile creatures and examine the current state of the mines overall. Wouldn't want a cave-in after we begin our mining operations.

- i agree, secure the mines and insure they are function able.

after that i suggest we:

- Secure and reclaim the barrack/armory to free up a good amount of space for our fighting men(and women) and there equipment.
- implement a food rationing for a turn or three just encase winter takes longer or our fields turn a poor crop early on, give us a kind of breathing room. half rations for a while , i think everyone would understand.
