You are Sergei Boystov: Pilot of the stolen super mech RB-01 Cognis. You recently finished a side mission for the AESR corporation and were duly rewarded for your effort. Now though, you find yourself facing another crisis. As the AESR engineers pack up their equipment Lev comes running toward with a worried look on his face.

"Sergei! It's Anya. I just got a call from her. She was attacked while negotiating with the Zanvrans. She managed to escape but she's injured. Right now she's with a Zanvran agent in a black van heading our way."

If they had found Anya, it would only be a matter of time before they found you. In fact Anya could be leading them right to you. You jump into the cockpit of the Cognis and power it up. The sensor scope shows multiple airborne contacts closing on your position. Not Good. You had to get out of here now but that meant moving your entire operation. Lev would have to drive the supply truck meaning you'd be without a co-pilot. You turn to the AESR Rep.

"Hey... uh I got a developing situation on my hands. I don't supposed you could help me out?"

"Our business here is concluded. You're on your own, that is unless you wish to make another transaction?"

"I just need an extra guy to drive our supply truck while me and Lev here take care of business."

"Ugh...uh...5 railgun rounds! You can make some quick cash selling that off right?"

The Rep strokes his chin in mock thoughtfulness. "Hmm... I suppose. Alright, give me the keys."

"Wait you're driving!?"

"Of course. A.E.S.R delivers quality services after all."

It had been a long ride from down town Glesk to the industrial park where the Cognis was hidden. Agent Sang did the driving while a rather pale faced Anya gave directions. Anya had taken a shot to the leg, but seemed stable for now. She'd likely need more through medical attention before long.

A loud noise caused Sang to squint up at the sky. Large unmarked transport choppers circled the warehouses like birds of prey, fat ungainly birds of... okay maybe that allegory wasn't fitting. Point was: they were trouble.

As soon as the A.E.S.R tech removed the railgun rounds from the supply truck, you move out. Sensors were showing three large airborne contacts in the area and several more were popping on and off the scope... great more stealth units.

((Sometimes when the battlefield isn't too busy I will resolve the turn in one go.))

Lev tries his hands at working the sensors. "I'm not picking anything up Sergei, at least nothing I can..."

Autocannon rounds impact your hull as you move towards the junction. Up head an AFV switches off it's active camoflague as it comes out of hiding. One of the transport chopper's breaks off it's holding pattern and begins deploying troops on a nearby building.

A quick glance at your sensor assures you that Mr. Trenchcoat is right behind you.

You can communicate with Anya yes, include it in the co-pilot write in. The transport choppers aren't armed... the things they carry though...

Several things happen at once. You move forward, returning fire on the AFV as you do You must have been a bit too eager as your Ion cannon only scores a glancing blow and Lev's use of the HMGs isn't enough to destroy it completely. Still it seems enough to spook it's crew and they promptly bail out of the stricken vehicle.

The infantry squad on the roof fire off some RPGs but their shots go wide. Suddenly an AFV decloaks to the side and lock-on warning blares a split second before multiple missiles impact your hull. Your HUD shorts out for a second before warning icons start popping up, apparantly you've just been hit by an EMP.

You hear the A.E.S.R Rep over a distorted comm.
"Cognis be advised. I just saw a big missile come at you from over the warehouses. I suspect that some of these guys are spotting for mobile launcher in the area."

You don't have time to wait for him to do it. You move the Cognis forward and strafe the enemy infantry with the HMGs. A section of roof disintegrates in a puff of concrete dust and blood.

The second transport chopper deploys another squad of infantry who open fire with RPGs. It's a good thing their aim is just as bad as the first squad's. Green lights wink on your HUD as Lev completes the EMP recovery procedures.

Meanwhile you get another transmission from the A.E.S.R guy.

"They're using recon drones with thermoptic camoflague! I just caught a glimpse of one behind us. Oh hey your truck has an MG, let me help you out."

You truck reverses into the intersection and opens fire on the drone, scoring a few hits, but not taking it down. The remaining AFV moves forward and opens fire on the truck with it's cannon. Your truck does have some armour but it's not as durable as you are.

The A.E.S.R Rep validates your praise by finishing off the drone, while you fry the remaining AFV.

You can't pat yourself on the back yet. Another EMP missile comes screaming out of the sky and on to your hull. Fortunately your systems stay online for now. There must be more than one recon drone out there, that's assuming the infantry aren't spotting either.

"Sergei. I've traced the drone control signals to this location." Says Lev as a large red dot is marked on your map.

Meanwhile the transport chopper had picked the second infantry squad and they were not firing RPGs into your rear. The third and final transport chopper was also moving towards you.

You turn the Cognis round and try to fire off a snap shot while walking backwards. The rail round just misses the transport chopper causing it to sway precariously to the side in the turbuent backwash and you lose sight of it as you manoever round the corner.

At this point you finally make contact with Anya and Sang. The two women quickly exit and transfer themselves to the supply truck which has been dutifully following you as RPGs explode around them.

"Mr. Boystov." Anya's imperious voice, though she seems a bit out of it. "Who is this strange man driving the truck?"

"Hired help, be nice to him while I get our asses out of this mess. Lev, status on those drones."

"Ack, sorry Sergei I'm having trouble jamming them! On the bright side I think there's one right next to us."

He was right glancing at your sensor scope you see that one has gotten close enough for your sensors to penetrate it's cloak.

You aim your Ion Cannon on the nearest transport chopper and open fire. The beam doesn't quite score a solid hit and if it were the laser it wouldn't have been enough to bring the chopper down, fortunately the Ion Cannon had an EMP effect which must have shut down something important as the chopper proceeded to spiral out of control and crash.

The recon drone that had been tracking you aprupted self destructs while the reamining transport chopper breaks off persuit. Looking at your radar you can see why: lots of incoming contact bearing the IFF codes of the Foskoedal Armed Forces.

What ever time frame these black ops forces were running on had finally ended. Speaking of which you needed to cover your own escape. Shifting the Cognis into reverse you smash your way through the warehouse door behind you and begin making your way out of the industrial park...

TBH Lev was rolling badly this session.

Also to be fair I should probably explain the stealth system to you guys. Right now, stealth units are shown on the map at a certain transparency level depending on how well concealed they are. So if you have a keen eye you can see them and ask to target them. So no that guy earlier was not hallucinating.

I may revise this system later seeing how it's a bit easy to pick out coloured units against a grey back drop.
