Recently: You put up with Vernon's mountain climbing lesson. You've decided to train each Pokemon with a different regimen.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes or always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever!

Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

You take out Fel. It’s time to plan out your training.

You’ve decided that you’ll customize it for each Pokemon. Some might get different training depending on what you think is best for them. The choices you make here could easily be the difference between defeat and victory at the league.

Fel greets you warmly. You gently rub his surprisingly solid head and get a cute little noise in return.

You have to choose how Fel’s training will go. You have some rough ideas about how long it will take, but each Pokemon has different strengths and might take quicker to some things than others.

You think no matter what you choose, you’ll still have some time to do other basic training like their natural move list and general exercises.

>Spend the first 2 months learning Vernon’s ability switch. Switching freely among it's natural abilities in battle could be really handy in a pinch
>Spend the first month teaching Fel a move that a Butterfree can’t normally learn*
>Spend three months working on that idea you shared with Robin (basically mimicking certain hold items. You’ll probably only have time to learn one)
>Spend three months permanently changing a Pokemon’s ability to one their species usually doesn’t have*
>Spend 1-3 months training stats and nothing but stats. Get really strong.

You ask for a pen and do jot down a note. When you’re back to the cabin and able to make a call, you’ll order in enough vitamins for everyone on your team. You didn’t buy them before, but you want to make the most of your training time here.

Then you spend a few minutes playing with Fel. Well, you’re more testing him with quick little games, but he’s having fun. You do some patty-cake, play catch with a small ball, and chase him around.

You know what you want to do first. Those powdery wings aren’t a problem. They’re an advantage.

You’ll spend two months training Fel to use any two powder or spore moves together at once. It’ll take a little extra time, but it really seems like his specialty. Hopefully that will make up for Fel’s lack of experience compared to the others.

You’re still estimating here. Two months feels right though. That means you’ll need to figure out what to do with the last month.

You’ll spend the rest of the time learning some new moves and training stats if there’s time. You’ll figure out the finer details when you get there.

With that, you let Fel fly around on his own, but within sight. The wide mountain clearing gives plenty of room.

Alright. Now that you’re in the groove, you’ll figure out what to do with Trunks next. You take him out of his ball. He looks around his surroundings, then down at the vast jungle below the mountain.

Then he cackles. He cackles and laughs loudly, like some sort of demon from a cheesy cartoon looking down at the lands he’ll conquer.

He turns to you and his evil grin turns innocent. He’s just having fun.

Probably.

You’ll spend two months getting Trunks buffed up. He has some great moves already, so you’re going to concentrate on getting him as strong as possible.

Trunks seems to really like this idea. He pumps his imaginary muscles. You pick him up and give him a tight hug. He’s so cute!

But what about the last month?

You want to improve an existing move. With some creativity, you can really do some neat tricks.

“Alright kiddo’s,” Vernon says, taking you out of your thoughts. “I’m going to go on a joyride, then meet you back down at the cabin.” He starts heading back to the car. “Take your time getting back. I’ll have dinner ready.”

Huh. You thought he’d want to do more right now. Maybe he’s up to something.

Yeah! You know what to do! You’ll work on improving his special move. It’s already something nobody else will know how to deal with, so improving that will give you an even bigger advantage. You’ll work on it so you can make more than one, and leave them out on the field for other’s to use.

Alright! With that set, you turn your attention to the next Pokemon; Zappy Dan.

The light from the Pokeball isn’t as visible in the bright sunlight. He’s hard to look directly at though. It’s reflecting off of him, and he’s especially shiny today.

You have a lot of ideas for Dan. His relaxed nature means that he’s a bit slow to learn because he doesn’t apply himself, but at the same time, he doesn’t really get discouraged about anything either.

You’ll start your time working on a combo of Zap Cannon and Flash Cannon. You think this is the perfect way to get a one-hit KO. But you know combining them will result in some really poor accuracy.

You’ll call it... Sparkle Cannon!

You giggle to yourself, earning a weird look from Robin. You just smile and let her get back to her own planning.

So you’ll spend the rest of the time on a series of other moves. Lock-On is a must. You’ll add on Electric Terrain, Magic Coat, Gyro Ball, Flash, Light Screen, and Hyper beam. You’ll see what other options you have if there’s time.

Yeah. You’re really feeling in the groove now. Next up is Leviathan.

You take her out of her Pokeball and she roars. Her voice echoes out over the mountain, letting all know about her arrival. She seems really smug about it.

>Spend the first 2 months learning Vernon’s ability switch

You’ll spend time bonding and working on mega-evolution. You’ve been feeling closer with Levi lately, so you’re confident you can get there. You know she wants to be as strong as possible. She’s probably a little jealous of Devon. You can devote one month to being able to use Mega-evolution when pressed, but if you spend two, you’ll be probably be able to use it at will like Devon can these days.

But how will you spend the rest of the time?

what did we decide to do with the pokemon outside of our party? Aria, Destiny, Raistlin, and Vlad need love too.

haven't decided yet.

Vernon said he has an idea. I think he's gonna have a PC shipped out to his house.
>>
>>41839652
it's just to much time to spend on one thing and such a small thing at that
>>
>>41839652
It's really not that great timewise considering it takes 2 months to learn.

And it's only useful in certain situations with certain pokemon.

It's more robins style.
>>
>>41839612
[So far, Kat has no plan, but there may or may not be a solution coming up]
>>
>>41839652
Destiny and Devon seems like it could be a good idea, the other pokemon are kind of eh.
>>
>>41839765
Foxfire isn't that good.

Anyone have any ideas for Devon? Cause I ain't got shit.

I guess just Pure stat boosts would make him a beast and he's already got a great thing goin.
>>
>>41839862
Nasty Plot would be a good move to learn
>>
>>41839862
Maybe try and change his meg-evolution ability to something that doesnt drain health?
>>
>Raistlin
Megaevolution
Hyper Beam, future sight, Safeguard, Hypnosis, Dream eater. Spend any time left making him more durable.
>>
>>41839944
How about just negating the health drain of it.

>>41839408
Should only take a month right gobble?
>>
>>41840010
that works
>>
You’ll spend time mastering Mega-Evolution, then the remainder on moves and stats. You’re going to rely on Levi’s desire to be the strongest.

You and Levi exchange a look. You can feel her desire. She wants to be tough. Not just compared to other Pokemon, but irrefutably strong compared to even the toughest opponent you come across. You don’t know if you can promise that, but you see her trust in you.

You’ll try your best.

It’s time to concentrate on Nibbles now.

He roars out. It’s a cute imitation of Levi’s. Although he doesn’t seem to really understand he’s less cute and more terrifying.

You remember how hard Nibbles fought against that Gyarados before. When he sets his mind to it, he has incredible potential.

>Spend the first 2 months learning Vernon’s ability switch
>Spend the first month teaching Nibbles a move that a Tyrantrum can’t normally learn
>Spend three months working on that idea you shared with Robin (basically mimicking certain hold items. You’ll probably only have time to learn one)
>Spend three months permanently changing his ability to one his species usually doesn’t have
>Train stats for 1-3 months
>Work on reducing the damage he takes from super-effective moves
>Something else
>>
>>41840043
Learn the Bite family of moves.
>Work on reducing the damage he takes from super-effective moves
Then tons of attack stats
>>
>>41840043
>Work on reducing the damage he takes from super-effective moves
>>
>>41840010
[Yup! Negating it should take a month. I'll add that to the list for his vote]
>>
>>41840043
Hyper Beam, stone edge, Sandstorm, the rest of the Bite moves we haven't gotten.
resist the supereffective moves.
Can we see about adding the flinch chance from Crunch/Bite to all of His Bite attacks? kind of as an extension of his ability? only take a month right?
>>
>>41840141
>>41840043
This.

Extra Flinch chance on all of his Bites would be great
>>
>>41840141
sounds good
>>

>>Train stats (and moves) for 2 months

>>
>>41840141
seconding.Fuck. flinch.
>>
>>41840141
I think we could work that in under training moves but Gobble is kill so it doesn't matter anyways
>>
>>41840141
>>41840119
This.

Right now he get's blown up to easy. I wanna rely on the varied and op (with his ability) Bites that he has and the extra resistances will help. As will that flinch chance.
>>
>Vlad
Sludge bomb, Venoshock, Haze, Acrobatics (works great with him)
Then just tons of Evasion and Speed.

He will be untouchable.
>>
>>41840439
Speed is Destiny's thing really. We have that automatic dodge chance on Destiny that Vlad doesn't have.
>>
>>41840475
>Speed is Destiny's thing
wut

Speed is Vlads thing. Destiny as the evasiveness due to the unusual way she moves on land plus all the evasion training we gave her. But Vlad is Pure Speed. Gobble has even described him in hyperbole as that before.

Besides, Poison and Speed is really a Crobats best things.
>>
>>41840475
Destiny is our Glass Cannon with tons of evasiveness. she sits in the haze/mist with Rain dance on and fires out high powered Sp Att Beams of death.

We've given her extra training in Evasion and Sp Att
>>
>>41840599
>>41840562
Speaking of, with all the time we spent on her Evation Destiny should have a chance to dodge attacks that can't miss
>>
>>41840562
>>41840599
Yeah my bad, got my words mixed up. Evasiveness =/= Speed.
>>
>Destiny
I like her current setup with Evasion and Sp Attack Beams right now so let's just enhance it.
Mist, Brine, Hyper Beam, Draco Meteor, Blizzard.
>>
Nibbles rips a tree from the ground and brings it to you, dropping it at your feet.

Your plan for Nibbles is simple. You’ll work on a few major things. The first is his resistance to super effective attacks. It won’t be the same as the ability Filter, but it will still help a lot.

The next item will adding a flinch to his bite attacks. Bite will still have a higher chance to flinch at 30%, but the others can get a chance to flinch too, on top of their other effects.

The the rest of the time will go into learning a set of moves with the remaining time.

You get Levi to throw it for him.

Next up is Devon. Your first Pokemon, and also your closest. He looks up to you, eagerly awaiting your instructions.

>Spend only one month learning Vernon’s ability switch, thanks to Devon’s experience

>Spend three months working on that idea you shared with Robin (basically mimicking certain hold items. You’ll probably only have time to learn one)
>Spend two months permanently changing his ability to one his species usually doesn’t have
>Spend one month improving accuracy and crit rate, thanks to his sharp senses
>Train stats for 1-3 months
>Spend one month making Solar Power no longer harm Devon
>Something else

You’ll focus on three things for Devon. Making sure Solar Power no longer harms him, working on getting his attacks extra precise, and finally some more improvement on his stats. Of course, you’ll make sure to get Nasty Plot in there too.

You look at Devon, and he looks at you. Just to test something out, you do a quick whistle, and he reacts instantly, coming to your side and readying to fight.

“Good boy, Devon,” you scratch behind his ear. He turns back into a puppy.

Jeez. You’ve been planning a long time. Where is the day going?

“Kat,” Robin says, grabbing your attention. “Let’s head back. It’ll be late by the time we reach the cabin.”

You nod in agreement. You can plan while scaling down. There’s still four more Pokemon that you’ll be training.

You sigh. It’ll be a grueling three months. You’re excited about your plans so far, but you won’t have much time to relax.

[That’s it for tonight. We’ll pick things up on the weekend. I can’t say exactly which day, but it won’t be a two week break like we just had. I’ll tweet when I know for sure! As always, thanks for coming!]
