You're pretty sure you're dreaming again.

Why do you think you're dreaming?

Because everything is upside down.

For some strange reason, your feet are glued to the ceiling. At least, you think its the ceiling; what with the tiny light bulb dangling by a thread indicated.

You feel different again; which is another clue, older. Stronger too; but you don't feel like this was a dream to flex that opportune strength.

You hear something, a child. He's definitely crying but... You can't quite make out the words.

You suddenly feel a change in balance; gravity has had its fun with you and just dropped you like a rock.

Managing to spin fast enough midair, you land in a crouch, hand supporting your feet so you made as little sound as possible.

You felt stealth was of the essence today.

The child heard you though, and apparently is scrabbling away frantically; practically mewling in terror.

You move, you've pinpointed his location, behind a cold steel door; normally used to keep people out.

But not you.

As you approach the door, you ready a large, booted shoe and kick the door down; There's definitely rage in your actions, but as an observer of the dream you can only watch.

Light floods the cell that the kid was in. You can see him; tattered lab clothes and blood. He's surprisingly clean otherwise.

Damn lab rats.

"Please!" The child screams, scooting away from you. "No more! It hurts!" As you move closer, marks come into view on his arms and legs. Needles.

"I'm not here to hurt you." You reply; a deep, booming voice. "I'm here to help."

"They all say that. No one can help me." He yammers, panicked eyes darting from left to right; as if expecting an attack.

"They say I'm sick, but I'm not! I'm not sick!" The child rants, huddling into a corner, shivering. "They keep poking me and prodding me and I-"

"Calm down." You say. "What's your name?"

He looks at you, startled. Does he not have a name? You wonder in fear.

"M-my name is..."

"Alex!"

Woah-wu-

Are the only two thoughts you can make out of your head before a beat stick slams into you, sending you tumbling off the bed.

You tuck and roll, into a ready stance before remembering your shackles. A guard stands looming over you.

"Food." He- no, it, growls. Then it seems to slide away.

"Alex, are you alright?" Dominic asks, hurrying towards you.

"Fine, I'm fine." You grunt, rubbing the spot where you where hit. Not particularly hard, but enough to sting and wake you up.

You look at the other two, "You guys get the same treatment?" Eliza approaches, shaking her head.

"You were the only one to sleep in." She says, shrugging.

Cheeky little...

Anyways, you're wide awake now.

What should you do?

Neither. Just make sure it makes sense in the framework of the quest. It's been established Alex is repressing a fuck ton of shit, so it makes sense his subconscious needles the fuck out of him in his dreams.

As you gather yourself to head to the prison cafeteria, you think about your dream.

The 'sick' boy... You wonder what his name was. Or why he was in a place like that.

Ironically; you think to yourself as you turn a corner and come up to the lab section of the prison. It isn't too different from here.

As you walk past the area, you can hear faint cries of pain and pleas of help that are mercifully cut short.

Eliza looks more and more unnerved by this area, whereas Dominic's face is stone cold, completely devoid of emotion.

"Liz," You whisper to her, causing her to jump slightly. "You alright?" You ask, concerned. She shakes her head.

"Not really, but I'll get over it." She murmurs back, not stopping for even a second to escape from that place.

Falling back to your musings of your dreams; you realize that most of them make you feel like you're someone else. Older, Stronger, Larger.

But oddly familiar enough to not feel awkward in your own skin. So who is the person you were in your dreams? And why is he so familiar?

You eventually reach the prison cafeteria; where basic foods were being served.

They had ribs for some reason, which you got. It wasn't very good obviously.

It just kind of made you miss home.

The next three days pass in a blur, mostly consisting of fighting monsters and the human-demon monstrisities that Mevon and his gang of 'doctors' no doubt were experimenting on.

You wonder if Eliza will ever get over her doctor fear; but probably not anytime soon. Not after this.

You perform admirably, keeping to your scheme of efficent killing mixed in with brutal executions when necessary. Your name was feared in the lower levels. Even one of the guards cut you a bit of slack.

Dominic and Eliza squeaked by, as according to the plan you had drawn out on the day; you were to garner all the attention, to make yourself a target. That way Eliza and Dominic could pass unnoticed until the time was right.

You watched some of their matches when you got the chance, silently cheering them on. You also noticed that there was one particular viewer that never took his eye off Dominic.

They were an anonymous, but you were pretty sure it was Mevon.

You had wondered then what their relationship was; specifically. You knew that they were part of the same family; but Dominic told you later that Mcqueen family members are not necessarily blood related.

"What about you?" You remembered asking, "Are you a blood member?" Dominic had shook his head. "Not exactly, I'm... a special case." He clammed up when you pressed him on the matter.

You wish you could do something to help.

Marry contacted you the day before the event, informing you on their plan. They had explosive weaponry stashed away in a safe location, and when the event began they were to use those to blow down the walls and attack.

"Explosives? Don't you have any fire users?" You remember wondering aloud, Marry had scowled.

"We bzzkt- little magic, thats why we are experiments." She growls. "Easy to prey on, less magic to interfe-bzzkt with the demons."

>cont

You also conferred with Eliza and Dominic, a counterplan to ensure Dominic had some time with Mevon when they found him.

"We need to find some way to draw Marry away, buy us some time." Dominic says, chewing his thumb. "From what Marry's said; Mevon is only fast, not strong."

Eliza shakes her head "We can't let our guard down. No one trains like that. He must have some plan."

Dominic shrugs, "Who knows, The Mcqueen family is very... specific, in its training."

You tap your chin in thought, "It's just a passing thought, we need to be careful in any rate."

The day had come, you woke up early to mentally prepare yourself; only to find Dominic already awake, staring at the prison bars.

"Dom." You say gently, padding up to him. He looks at you briefly before turning away. "I've been locked away before." He murmurs.

You stare at him in surprise. "When we... performed poorly, we were sent away." Dominic continues, a sad look on his face. "Spent almost 2 years behind bars like these."

You put a hand on his shoulder. "We'll make it out of this Dom, we all will. Together." He looks at you, determination slowly filling his eyes.

"Yeah." He says, grasping your hand and squeezing it.

The announcer; loud and boisterous, booms over the speakers when you all reach the arena.

"WELCOME ALL CONTESTANTS." He cries, drawing laughter while Dominic balls his fists quietly. Everyone here knows that you're here against your own will.

"TODAY IS THE TEAM EVENT, YOU HAVE TO GO IN GROUPS OF FOUR."

"THE CHALLENGE TODAY IIIIS-" The ground rumbles tremendously as a giant maze arises from the ground, blocking your view of the other contestants.

"THE LABYRINTH. THE TASK IS SIMPLE, FELL THE BEAST. BUT BE CAREFUL." He laughs, and you can hear a terrifying roar as cries and screams of pain are heard.

"THE BEAST ALSO HUNTS YOU."

"LET THE GAAMES BEGIN."

"We need to find supply cache, ASAP." Marry said, looking around quickly. There were two paths.

You decide to go the path of statues; large, marble ones ressembling gods and demons alike. Half human, half animal; centaurs, satyrs and devil children oversee your journey.

You trace each one with your hand, passing over them slightly. Each one of them delicatly made; with intense precision. A masters hand, no doubt.

"Beautiful, are they not?" A voice from beyond the shadows. Instantly, the weapons appear in your hands.

"No need to be so aggressive." A low chuckle, and a figure steps out.

"Luke?" Marry gasps, hand flying to her mouth in shock. "You died!"

The long haired man shrugged, a patch on his eye shifting slightly.

"Yet here I am, I suppose it has something to do with this... place." He murmurs, almost confused himself.

"I've wandered this area for who knows how long. The maze is never ending Marry, I can't ever find the end." He clutches his head in pain.

"The... end?" Marry shakes her head "Luke, we cannot stay. The mission must be accomplished. We are so close!"

"Isn't that what you said last time?" Luke snaps in return, his head snapping up to glare at Marry.

Did his eye just glow?

"That's what you said... before." He growls, stepping towards Marry, while she steps back.

"Y..yes, but-"

"But what?" He roars, a blast of power errupting from him, fire erupting behind him.

"No matter how many times, we can't ever escape!" He points a finger at her.

"We could survive! We could live! We were happy!" Luke says, each accusation seeming to take a bit more out of Marry.

"Was that really living though Luke?" Marry murmurs, barely audiable.

"It didn't matter! We were together!" Luke yells, the fire behind him growing. "Me and you! Against EVERYONE!"

"I hate to interrupt, but we have a deadline." You pipe up, Luke stares at you for one long hard moment.

"I have no business with you, but leave me Marry."

You're already shaking your head before he finishes. "Sorry, the lady stays with us; we have a deal."

"Besides." You say, shrugging your glaive off your shoulder to point at Luke. "I'm pretty sure Mevon just brought you back to fuck with us."

He growls, "She's decieving you. You will die, alone."

Dominic shakes his head. "We won't die, and if we do; we die together." He adds, pulling his claymore from the summoning circle he summoned.

Eliza shrugs her shoulders, unhooking her blades and flipping them over her hands in one fluid motion.

"The only one dying here is you." She intones.

"You will regret this moment!" Luke roars, his eye turning completely red as he charges towards you, his fire roaring behind him and forming a lion shape.

"Cerberus!" You shout, as a shadow forms under you.

got it Came his reply.

Cerberus bursts from under your feet as you bounce off of him and meet Luke's dash head on, flicking your glaive under his guard and tumbling away before he can counter.

Theres a vast explosion in the air as Cerberus engages the firey lion; his three heads butting against the heads and paws of the lion simultenously. One of the heads breathes a green gas and the lion roars in pain.

Luke tries to strike you again, his weapon being a long sword wreathed in fire. But he's slow, much too slow to get close to you. Especially with Trickers parade coming into play.

"Come one, come all to the three man show!" You cry, flipping over him to slice at his shoulder, flinging several dark swords from the air as he jumps out of the way.

"Stay... Still!" He growls, advancing towards you.

You summon an array of swords as a response, and begin kicking them at him, their blades zipping by and slicing him in several places.

He's nothing if not tough, as he moves with almost zealous purpose, barely flinching as one of the blades catches him in the shoulder.

"Eliza!" You shout, as she backflips over you, her spell charged within her swords.

"Flare sword!" She shouts, darting forward and slamming her swords together, creating a blinding flash.

As he recoils from the light; Dominic charges forward as well, ice forming under his feet.

"Brilliant Frost!" He swings his greatsword in a massive horizontal arc, ice shards trailing behind his blade that showered Luke.

As he roars in pain, you take to the skies; grabbing onto Cerberus's collar. "Thanks for the hanger on!" You shout at Cerberus, slapping him heartedly before diving down towards Luke.

"Black Gate!" You yell, summoning the gate midair and causing it to surround your body; using yourself as an anchor for the portal. Swords and chains shoot out out of your body, and slam into Luke before you collide with him, your dark energy transferring into his body as the ground cracks.

You flip off, twirling your blade for good flair measures.

"That looked good, right guys?" You joke, giving them a thumbs up.

Dominic chuckles, while Eliza shakes her head, hiding a smile.

"Careful! He is not defeated!" Marry shouts, running towards you after all that. "He can turn his whole body into fire! He's a-"

Her words are brutally cut off when Luke suddenly materalizes next to her and slams his fist into her body; sending her tumbling into a wall with a sickening crack.

"Damnit." You growl, pulling your formation together. "He's a damn spirit."

"You. Will. Pay." Luke seethes. He's not quite as powerful as the spirit before; your attacks had some effect on him. But it won't be enough.

His body is entirely engulfed in fires now; a raging inferno swirling his sword that reforms into a bright orange blade.

"This sword will cut to your bone." He says.

"Guys, be careful; that sword looks dangerous." You mutter to your squad, they nod quickly.

"I'll need to test his ability." Eliza and Dom split off, standing far enough so that they don't get caught up in the fight; but close enough to provide assistance.

"Come on then!" You shout, raising your hands and taunting him. "You going to stand there all d-"

When the HELL did he appear in front of you.

"Die." He hisses, and swings a deadly arc that you barely manage to dodge. You dash away, quickly infusing your blade with energy before thrusting at his body.

It goes through his entire frame like a blade through fire would. You curse as he lashes out at you again.

Despite this, he's quite the sloppy swordsman; relying a lot on his innate fire ability to carry him through fights.

That won't do at all, you summon dark chains and infuse more energy in them than usual to attempt to bind him again. It works, but only briefly as he burns through the chains.

"Your pitiful magic cannot hold me." He scoffs.

"We'll see about that." You grin in return, as you zip past him, using his shadow as a mobility tool.

"Roll through the darkened skies! Dark Alpha!" You rocket a dark sphere at him, shoving him back a good distance.

"As I thought, shortened incantations won't do too much." You say to your teammates, who nod.

"Would Ice magic do any good?" Dominic wonders aloud, "I'm pretty sure he'll just evaporate it as soon as it gets close." You reply, shrugging.

"I have an idea, but it might take a while." Dominic mutters. Eliza twirls her blades absentmindedly. "It might be faster if we all attack to try and find his core; then blast it."

"Lock him where he stands! Hell's chains!" You incant, sending giant chains around his legs. Already you can see him beginning to melt the chains, despite them being made of magic.

Magic constructs are weird sometimes.
