You casually deflect Ted’s question and ask about your hypospray instead, turns it to be some kind of very expensive medical serum that is capable of healing nearly any problems you may have. Very interesting, so you head out of the room.

“Hey wait a minute where are you going?” asks Ted.

You ignore him and continue out of the room and motion for the giant lizard to come over. How do you even inject this into a lizard with their scales?

“Goblins, what the hell? No wait stop what are you doing with that stuff?” Ted seems to be getting rather angry that you are ignoring him now. So you just jam the hypospray into the lizard’s mouth and inject it there, the lizard responds by trying to eat your arm but its teeth can’t break your skin. You watch as the scars the lizard had from being set on fire vanish, that stuff must be pretty good.

“That stuff is worth billions of credits, did you just inject it into a lizard?” asks Bill as the other researchers come out into the hallway. They look very uneasy at the sight of the giant lizard, goblins, and giant spiders. You are going to need to handle this before they run off and try to alert someone.

The shadow squads hear that the white coats are calming down inside as there is a whirring of moving machines and then part of the wall begins to slide apart. The robotics lab is going to be deploying their robots now it looks like.

The shadow squads prepare several tripwires to trigger sudden growth of the magical seeds as they fall back towards the wall that the other goblins built. They leave the area around ‘storage’ left untouched, good stuff in there for chief probably and around the ‘security’ guy who the white coats were trying to get help from. Then they put up some Tribeburner explosive mines to defend the wall before clambering over it for protection.

“Why the hell not? I’m sick of making inventions to distribute to living ‘geniuses’ and getting no credit.” Says Phil and with that the others decide to join up as well.

“Hey man just don’t go all kill crazy on the learning lab. You got robotics for that, fuck steve.” Says Bernard.

The goblins hear gunfire echoing from down the hallway. Something must have triggered some of the trap plants. Which means something is coming, it should take them a while to get here since there are traps and robots can’t shadow walk. So the goblins prepare their crossbows and get ready to defend.

The researchers can teleport down with goblins so they will not be killed, for now though they will focus on getting their research gathered up for transport you decide.

"Have the goblins help you guys gather all the important things for transport back to the goblin city. Things we can’t take should be easy enough to destroy or sabotage.” You tell them.

“Whoa since when do the pit goblins have a city?” asks bill.

“Well they have a king now too apparently since we work for him.” Responds Ted.

Then you leave them to it with a bunch of goblins to help them move stuff back to the teleporter. You wonder for a moment how surprised these guys are going to be when the goblins cart out more stuff than exists in the laboratory. In any event it should help jumpstart the city, soon you’ll have running water and electricity.

After a long trek down the hallway you come to a room that is the ‘Artificial intelligence research lab’ the guys said that there are women here, you haven’t seen a women in forever could be good to recruit them.

The research guys with the help of the goblins have moved everything they thought was important to the teleporter room. The researchers are surprised that there was a teleporter behind the blast door, they thought that room was a top secret research lab or something. With all their stuff moved they get to work repairing the damage that the plant bombs and careless goblin scavenging caused. With any luck the teleporter will be fully functional soon.

Well it looks like the AI lab is still sealed shut from the alarm going off so you decide to leave it be for now and mount the lizard to hurry down the hallway. The sound of gun fire is coming from just ahead so you ignore another teleporter room and rush ahead.

> 32 vs upper dc 30

A pack of those animal robots is fighting a swarm of carnivorous plants who are desperately trying to push past to eat the group of researchers who don’t even notice you until you ride the giant lizard between them and the continuing onslaught.

“Where did a giant lizard come from?” One asks

“They are going to kill us all!” A pair of them notice the goblins and start screaming.

Looks like your stealthy squads released some of the plants as a distraction but the researchers don’t know this and you can use that to your advantage.

“Quick follow the goblins away to safety!” You yell to the researchers.

“No the goblins brought the plants here.” That same pair keeps trying to convince the others.

“Sorry about your robots!” You yell as you grab at the mana in the air pulling it to do your bidding. There seems to be far more energy here than in the pit, so you keep pulling using far more mana than normal to craft two large beams of fire. You align them to cover as much of the area in which the plants and robots are fighting in. Each of the two beams are about half a foot in diameter and one cuts open the robots closest to you as they materialize into existence. The further one cuts apart the plants and sets them on fire.

>38

“Oh shut up already you two have been hysterical this whole time, the rest of us are getting out of here.” The others just drag the complaining pair away and follow the goblins.

The few reaming robots are forced into the beams and are destroyed, the plants by now are all on fire from the searing rays, but they keep trying and failing to force their way past them.

There is a thunderous crash from inside the robotics lab and heavy metallic footsteps signal the arrival of a new robot.

“I see you think you can attack us. Fool! The director left this operation to me and you won’t mess things up for me.” A man says from atop the robot. Past the slight glow of the force field you can read the name on his badge, ‘Steve’. It is another one of those giant robots that they sent to attack before, damn it those guys were right, fuck Steve.

The goblins begin to shoot their exploding crossbow bolts as they fall back to a safe distance. The robot’s force field is just absorbing all their attacks like they are nothing. Steve is sitting on top of the robot furiously typing something on a laptop. You have the lizard rush closer to the robot to try and stop whatever Steve is trying, but it’s too slow and the robot’s main cannon fires at the lizard.

>29

You grab the magic around you and what the hell, you force it into your gun trying to ignite it like you do with your sword. Glowing orange lines appear along the gun and you open fire. The gun shoots three balls of fire out rather than the atmosphere distorting energy spheres it usually fires.

The first ball strikes the robot’s shield causing an eruption of fire that ripples along the surface of the shield. The next two shots pierce straight through the rippling ball of fire and hit the robot. The force of the blows cripple the main cannon, blow a hole into the side of the robot revealing its reactor and throws Steve to the ground.

Ok I waited for a tiebreaker and it looks like we grab the laptop while goblins grab Steve.

writing
>>
The robot still isn’t moving so you tell the goblins to run in and grab Steve. You see the laptop dangling by some wires from the robot. The screen says ‘UPLOAD’ with the bar at 60%, so you disconnect the laptop and the screen displays an error that reads upload failure. Good that should mean the robot stays deactivated and it does. It is a bit damaged but you could probably fix the thing up later and use it yourself.

The goblins have been busy with Steve, he is now bound, gagged and naked – the goblins didn’t really need to do that last one. The rest of the group has already started ransacking the robotics lab and piles of loot, including the entire inactive robot, are being taken away.

Then a guy in a black suit walks up to you. “Not bad, you broke Steve’s robots, looks like I get paid without needing to work.” He says, “But I’ll need to take him back from your little goblin friends and I’m going to have to ask you to leave.” Looks like this guy runs the security on this level of the ring, your experience tells you that he is tougher than he looks.

“These people? That’s a new one, but I can’t let you take him contractual obligations and all.” The man says.

“Looks like he dies then.” So you shoot Steve, the three flaming sonic rounds pulp his body instantly.

“I wish you didn’t do that, now I’m going to have to work.” Is all the man says.

He pulls a gun from his jacket and shoots you in the head. There is a crackle of electricity when it impacts and blood rolls down your face before the wound heals.

“Now that’s new, haven’t seen something like that since I left the combat division.” He says as he pulls a knife out next. The blade is blue and a frosty mist wafts away from its surface.

You have the reach advantage so after his failed stabs you swing at him hard. He tries to block with his knife but the force of the blow is too much, with a hiss of steam from the blades contact he is thrown backwards towards the searing rays.

That’s when the goblins open fire. Explosive bolts rain down on the guy and when the goblins move to reload the smoke clears showing his body bloody under his newly torn suit.

“Not bad, but can you handle magic?” He asks, a red glow appears in his free hand.

That’s when the giant lizard blindsides him, mauling the guy and throwing him into the nearest searing ray. He tries to stop from hitting it but fails as his arm comes into contact with it at the elbow cutting his arm off instantly.

"It's too bad we couldn't work together." You say.

“Yea, shame I’ll have to kill you now.” He responds. He then releases the spell he was preparing, seems that losing his arm didn’t disrupt it at all. Two balls of fire materialize and slam into your giant lizard, looks like the lizard pissed this guy off enough to become the spell’s target.

>26 vs upper dc 25

You hesitate, it would be nice to keep a guy like this alive, he could help you out a lot. So you take aim at his leg with your gun, he notices and runs forward to attack you. You can’t have any loose ends though, so you switch targets and shoot him in the head. There are three screeches and bursts of flame as the gun’s shots connect.

The man’s body is flung backwards by the force of the blow his headless corpse is then cut in half by the searing ray.

A shame that he had to die, could have been good working with him but if he was all the security on this level and the robotics lab is already taken care of you will be able to take your time and go through everything. With the searing rays dissipated you check the guy’s body for a security pass or something. You find a solid red card with no visible markings on it so you take that along with his knife and gun. Then a quick lizard ride later you are at the security station, it doesn’t take long to find where to insert the card. With the red level clearance you are able to disable the alarm which ends the annoying red flashing lights once and for all.

You have the goblins continue to strip down the place and teleport back all the stuff from the storage, security, robotics lab, and power generation lab rooms. Then you meet up with the five guys to talk a bit more.

“You guys got all your stuff moved?” you ask them.

“I’m not sure we had this much in the lab before but yea it’s done.” Says Bill.

“So what is in the commercial and cybernetics labs?” you ask.

“Commercial is boring just gadgets to sell to the city.” Ted tells you, “but the cybernetics lab is working on prosthetics right now robotic limbs to send designs to the living world mostly.”

“Help the others stop freaking out so much” You tell the guys and point to the nine researchers you picked up by the robotics lab. You don’t get much of a response other than ‘yea whatever.’
Well now you know what is in the three remaining labs so you head to the AI lab. The door opens when you use the red keycard so you don’t need to hack the door open this time.

You walk in to find pair of blonde twins working on computers typing at abnormally fast speeds, they don’t even notice you enter. The room is lined with computers all running learning simulations of some kind. There is another person ankle deep in an opening under a large screen; she is muttering curses as she tries to fix whatever went wrong with the machine.

Signal for shadow squad to get in position to stop them if they suddenly go to do anything hasty and unwise.
Then walk up to the repair lady. "What's wrong with The machine? May I take a look?"

well, at least we now have researchers than can look into all of our stuff. And tell us if we have implants and exactly what they do.
A long with that. They can oversee the construction of a bigger better lab, and better defense system.

Looks like you are completely unnoticed so you have the shadow squads sneak in as well and take up hidden positions for ambushes if necessary. Then you tap the wall by the opening to get the repairwoman’s attention.

"What's wrong with the machine? May I take a look?" you ask her.

“Who the-” She hits her head on something and releases another bunch of curses before sliding out into the open.
“Who are you, never seen anyone around here with a big sword.” She says while rubbing her head.

“Just you know looking around, seeing if there is any trouble.” You say, thinking fast you flash her your red keycard.

“Damn they sent a red down here? What did you fuck up?” She asks, “Just kidding I don’t want to know but if you really want to take a look.”

This red card seems to be rather important if it gets that kind of reaction but you maintain the ruse and slide into the opening. There are wires and glowing crystals everywhere looks like someone jury rigged improvements right over the top of whatever the original design was. There is box of tools, repair supplies and a bunch of different color crystals.

> 26,

You’re smart now, you fixed a reactor, you can do this too how hard could fixing some wires and magical crystals be?

> Awareness

You spot a couple of bad wires and use the repair supplies to fix them. Then you notice a few connectors have been undone and put them back into what you think is the right place. Then you slide out the all the crystals that are not blue, they are obviously all wrong. Then you replace them all with fresh new blue ones like they should have been the whole time.

Then you see a much larger crystal that glows with a sickly green color, that’s just not right at all. You fish around in the box of repair supplies trying to find a bigger crystal and just when you think that there are none you pull out a nice large tyrian purple crystal. Not quite blue but it fits the slot and its better than green so you swap the crystals out and look it all over. Yup looks good enough, so you slide back out with the box.

“There you go fixed it.” You tell the repairwoman.

She pokes her head in to look at what you did. “Where did you get all these blue, wait is that one purple what the-” She hits her head again.

“Just turn it on and watch I’m sure it’ll be fine.” You say.

“Yea yea yea, I got it.” She says while rubbing the back of her head again. She fiddles with a nearby computer for a bit then the huge screen turns on flooding the room with blue light.

There is a swirl of purple and a face appears on screen.

“Repairs completed all systems are functioning. Thank you.” A robotic voice chimes out.

“Wow, fixed it and its personality too.” The repairwoman says. “Who are you again?”

“A responsible question to ask Dr. Harrington. This man has no records of existing.” The robotic voice says.

The two blondes who were working on computers have moved together with the shadow squads to form an audience behind you along with more of the goblin squads who have moved into the room once you started speaking. “It seems that your repairs have increased my abilities, thank you goblin king, calculations are complete. Initiating complete teleport sequence now.” The AI states.

There is a flash of light and you find yourself once more in the goblin city.

Items

You only have two books and the lamp by my count of unidentified items, the AI uses its massive database to aid your attempts to identify the items.

> Djinn Lamp – Power emanations indicate the recent formation of a djinn, no known specimens of this level of development are documented. Rubbing the lamp is known to awaken sleeping djinn. The AI requests you do so while completely surrounded by sensors so data can be collected on this unusual specimen.

> Grimoire – An advanced book of magics. It contains █ █ █ █ power (7), Corrosion aura (9), Multi-cast, Infinite mind

>Lich’s spellbook – Unable to penetrate the book with scans. The AI suggest you improve your mental fortitude before attempting to access the magic within.
>>
>>41919757
Allow ourselves to be scanned while we learn multicast And infinite mind, in case we can someday help others gain acess to it too
>>
>>41919757
>>41919754
Can we have our lizard. stats put into intelligence. Making him better in combat.
>>
On right, and lets also learn Cure, Ice blast, elemental Burst, since thats what we can learn up to int fifty.

We might not be able to cast all of them, but some areas are magic rich enough for that not to matter.
>>
>>41919040
I have a question, was the experimental long range teleporter also teleported to our goblin city, or will we have to build another one if we want to? I assume that the AI would be more than happy to assist in building another if we want to.
>>
Lets ask the ai about where the probes in the box are sending signals too, and what they do exactly.
If the function seems useful, lets have them send info only to the ai, and hang them increasingly lower and not in a lead box down the voidhole, for explorative purposes.
>>

>>41920175
Or we could lower a goblin down, with the sensors, to have different subjective reference points. We know the goblins won't lie to us. So, although the goblin might not be able to perceive as much as the sensors, atleast we will have a simple laygobs explanation of what's down there.

Abilities and spells

Multicast: Rank 1
This ability allows any spell cast to have a 5% per rank chance of being replicated for no additional cost. Higher ranks may have additional effects.

Infinite mind: Rank MAX
This ability unshackles the mind, allowing for the usage of all spells that a caster may know. It also opens you to the influence of unimaginable things - this alteration of perspective grants a bonus of +10 mana.

Cure: Cost 3 mana
This spell heals a single target for 1/10 the caster’s ki. It also heals one random negative status effect.

Ice blast: Cost 7
This spell causes a massive explosion of ice and frigid cold. It has the potential to cause frostbite or even instant freezing. It does cold damage equal to ¼ to ½ the caster’s ki.

Elemental Burst: Cost 20 mana
This spell causes a massive explosion of elemental energies. It automatically reacts to its targets to inflict maximum damage against their weakest resistance. It has the potential to cause a number of magical elementally themed aliments. It does damage equal to ½ to ¾ the caster’s ki.
>>
>>41920773
HOLY TOLEDO!
Any abnormalities on the scans when we learned that?
>>
>>41920838

The AI scanned the books and then you during the learning of all the spells and abilities at your request. With sufficient materials the AI will be able basically print out new copies of them. The main requirement is large amounts of mana as well as paper and ink. The mana reactors which you fixed the designs on can supply the needed magical power. The AI theorizes that one reactor at full output per spell level will be needed to create a copy of a spell. The multicast ability is equal to level 8 and infinite mind ability is equal to level ███. The AI apologizes for loss of accuracy regarding infinite mind, total over all complexity of the ability is unknowable.

Spell learned
Void power: Cost 15 mana

Loot and information regarding the teleported facilities will be ready for next thread. There is a lot to work through, with the AI teleporting everything there is unfortunately less loot at first but you get all the machinery, computers, the main reactor and a bunch of other goodies that will likely just get ignored by everyone. It’ll all be there in the background improving the goblins and the city though.

Pretty much put the ai in charge of city development.

Can we xray the letter?
>>
>>41922172

The AI informs you that the letter contains a non-harmful magical trigger, likely communication of some kind, and a credit stick. At current market rates 1 credit is worth 10,000 of the gold coins you collect.
>>
>>41922277
Open the letter.

You break the seal on the letter, open it and read the contents.

“ Joey, you two timing sonuvabitch

-Don Viennetta”

The AI scans the contents of the credit stick and informs you that it holds ten thousand credits.

Ahah, fuck. Where did we find this letter again? I bet joey is one of our skeletons now.

>>
>>41922710

The AI searchers its database for Don Viennetta and Joey. There is a large number of slummers that use the name Joey, most of them have connections to Don Viennetta. Don Viennetta is a contact for Research ring three he supplies ‘materials’ for them through his Casino which encompasses a repaired area in the lowest reaches of the Rustbelt.
