Welcome to Champion of the Key Quest (BIG MEATY CoK) in which you currently play as a 14 year old keyblade wielder named Vasi, thrown through time.

Last time we got our journey off to a rollicking good start by crashing this ship with several survivors thanks to Zidane not having a master plan for what he was doing.

Upon waking up in a frozen hellhole conveniently located pretty much nowhere near any form of civilization, Vasi decided to explore a bit and try to find a friendly face that could tell her where exactly she was.

What she found instead was some strange little goat man being chased around by talking wolves who evidently had quite the grudge against humans. Fighting off wave after wave of the beasts, the leader eventually summoned a rather large and scarywolf like Heartless… which proceeded to die very quickly as Celes arrived on the scene.

A bit of questioning of the older girl revealed that she didn’t know where Zidane was either, but there was a lead on some strange talking beavers over the hill just a bit away.

Giving into the power of THE EDGE, Vasi probably made Celes cry, but onwards and upwards as the next step on the journey continues.

Celes stomps ahead through the snow, her longer legs carrying her across the terrain lithely, while you’re just left to trudge in her wake. It doesn’t take long to find the exit to the beaver’s tunnel, not when you can follow the tracks of the wolves hunting them. That is it’s own issue though…

Celes kneels down, inspecting the prints in the snow, “I’m counting… thirteen wolves, two beavers and… three children, the oldest two about your age, the youngest smaller, quite a bit so.” She takes off quickly, ignoring your questioning about how she learned to track, back stiff as she stalks through the trees.

Celes quickly pulls ahead in the snow, as you trudge behind her, the snow still up to your knees as you shuffle along, “Hurry up!” She calls back, “Those wolves are going to be moving much faster than two rodents and some children.”

You stare down as struggle through the snow, you could always use some of your energy for a fireball and melt your way through the snow…

Unless we can keep up a steady stream of fire, a single flame spell might not be of much use.

Considering your magical reserves are currently nowhere near what Celes can evidently do, let alone Aqua, it’s probably best to actually save your fire spells for combat or an emergency situation. Maybe a bit later on that can all be changed, but right now you really need to power on through and keep pace with Celes.

Thankfully the snow seems to be slowly softening , not just underfoot, but all around you, as the snow, verrrrry slowly changes to thick sleet, the dirt turning to clinging mud now, your shoes squelching loudly as you walk. Boy it’s a good thing those faeries gave you clothes or else this would suck so hard...

Just as you’re about to call for a short break to catch your breath, Celes’ brisk walk forward changes swiftly into flying off into the woods, courtesy of the huge mass of hair and muscle that had come silently thundering out of the woods and crashing into her.

Celes thumps against a rock with a meaty smack, as the monster that just attacked her turns and moos in your direction, a beady eyed minotaur snorting mist, as it raises the waraxe in it’s hands high above it’s head. “By the order of the White Witch, all humans are to die.” The minotaur huffs, dropping it’s axe into striking range and charging right at you.

You stand your ground, tapping into the small reserves of magical power you feel inside you, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, as the flames gather around your keyblade…. “There!”

Your flames blast outwards in a small ball exploding in the minotaur’s face and setting his matted fur ablaze. The creatures roars in panic, dropping it’s axe and swatting at the flames. All the same his momentum keeps him running, plowing into you and knocking you flat on your butt, before the minotaur slams into a tree, bouncing off it.

His hair is still alight for a few moments, before he slams a heavy fist into a tree, a cascade of snow falling over his head, extinguishing the flames with a loud hiss, while you pick yourself up, feeling like you’ve been hit by a train...

Celes climbs back to her feet behind you, groggily drawing her weapon and charging the minotaur with the point held out, growling with irritation as she bolts through the snow.

The minotaur already has a fist prepped to meet her though, and from your short distance, you can just tell that the fist is going to meet her jaw violently.

Swapping out your weapon from the keyblade that you gained from Aqua to your first and most familiar one, you’ve already got a new little trick in your head to get this thing away from Celes. “Hey cowpattie! Does every minotaur get beaten up by a little girl as a rite of passage, or are you just special!” You yell out.

The creature’s attention is momentarily taken off of Celes, allowing it to see the slab of metal whirling through the air just before it smacks right into the minotaur’s face. Blood spurting out of it’s obviously broken snout...nose… thing, the creature roars in pain just as Celes slashes it across the chest as well.

Remembering what Aqua taught you, focusing your memories brings the keyblade back to your grasp right after it’s impact, giving you your weapon back while the minotaur has now dropped his. Still roaring in pain from the injuries both you and Celes have given to it, Celes barely manages to duck under a wild swing from your foe, choosing to gain some distance near you after that close call.

Putting a hand up in an attempt to stop the bleeding from it’s snout, the minotaur looks half mad with the way it’s buggy eyes can’t seem to focus. “Human… the white witch… destroy..” It pants before moving much faster than you’d expect something of that size could, sprinting off into the forest away from the two girls that had just given it a thrashing.

“We should keep following the tracks, right Celes?” You ask.

She sniffs haughtily, and starts to stride off, but pauses a moment, looking back to you. “Good thinking. Come along then.” She snaps her fingers once, before slashing her sword through the air, leaving a swathe of dried grass through the snow for us to walk through along the ground.

Now that she’s actually helping out, we make some good time through the woods, Celes hurrying ahead and checking the tracks, before clearing a line for you to follow. At the very least she’s helping you out now.

The two of you hurry forwards, through the forest unimpeded now, as you start to pick up on the sound of distant howls of wolves, and panicked screaming, high pitched, human.

“Vasi! Hurry!” Celes calls back to you. She weaves a series of slashes through the air and cuts a jagged path through the snow, taking off at a run. You take off after her, as she continually cuts a path through the snow, panting for breath, as the air slowly warms around you. You dispell the heating magic you’d applied to your clothes, airing yourself out as you run, until Celes holds an arm out, stopping you as you almost run off a cliff.
>>
You windmill your arms and fall backwards with her help, before peering out over the edge. Below the cliff is a surging river, the waters rushing at breakneck speed over rocky rapids, but more concerning is what’s upstream.

Beneath a frozen waterfall, stands a small group, as wolves corner them from both sides, a boy, two girls and two beavers…

“We won’t be able to reach them in time.” Celes whispers, horrified, as the wolves close in, growling and snapping.

One of the beavers launches itself at a wolf, but is quickly pinned at the neck. Huge chunks of the ice the group is standing on crack apart from the body, rushing away and tumbling down the river, while the boy draws a sword, holding it awkwardly as the older girl shouts at him

Thinking quickly, she snaps her fingers again, flames lacing her saber’s blade, and she slices across the air twice in the shape of an X. The frozen waterfall lets out a mighty crack, and splits, all the ice below it splintering apart, just as the wolves were about to leap.

The beavers dive into the water as the wolves are all flushed into the rapids, the boy plunging his sword into the ice, anchoring himself and his sisters as the river thunders them away down the stream, below your cliff.

“We…. could jump.” Celes mutters, “But if we miss and don’t land in the ice, we’d be in very big trouble….”

“JUMP!” You call out, leaping off the edge. You call your keyblade out and slam into the ice, harder than you’d thought, but the weapon manages to bite in. The kids scream, as you rock the chunk of ice, nearly tipping it over, until Celes lands on the opposite side, balancing you out.

The ice sheet drifts and spins over the rapids, water getting all over you, as you slosh about, the ice sheet rapidly starting to melt now, mercifully, the river clears the rapids, as the ice from under your feet splinters and cracks off, your legs slipping into the water, but you claw yourself back on top with a grip on your weapon.

The ice sheet begins to calmly drift down the country side, as the snow on the nearby bank slowly gives way to bright green grass, the skies overhead shifting from dull grey clouds to clear blue sky, and the children look at you and Celes with fear in their eyes. The boy trying to put himself in front of the girls while awkwardly holding his sword still.

“Who- who are you?” The youngest girl- another redhead- asks, sounding more curious than fearful.

“Lucy, shush!” The older girl chides, drawing her sister in closer.

“We’re… locals.” Celes cuts in. “I’m the shortest giant in the world, and my friend here is… the tallest dwarf.”
>>
Dwarf?! You grumble over that, as the boy looks between the two of you, slipping his sword free from the quickly melting ice, “And I’m guessing you two don’t work for the witch then?”

You’re about to reply, when a sudden sharp pain digs into your ankle, Celes letting out a yelp of pain similar to yours, only she slips into the water this time. You hiss and yank your foot away from the edge of the ice, dragging a beaver out of the water, teeth sunk into your ankle.

You do your best to kick it off without hurting it and explain your innocence, as Celes resurfaces, sputtering and spitting her hair out of her face, as she tosses the other beaver away.

“Oh.” The beaver gnawing on you grunts in a gruff voice, “Well then sorry bout that dear.” He chuckles nervously. “You don’t look like no dwarf to me though.” The female beaver climbs onto the ice too, as Celes clings to the edge of the ice again.

“Nope, one hundred percent pure dwarf. That’s why I’m so strong!” You say, flexing your toned arms and trying to add onto the really poor image the two of you are putting on. Moving over towards the edge, you help pull Celes up onto the ice once again, showing off that trademark Vasi strength that transitions so well to when you decide to SMASH the things around you.

Patting Celes on the back once the blonde girl is back up with the rest of you, you puff your chest out. “See, super strong, gotta be a dwarf!”

Your companion in the meanwhile is currently more focused on the fire being produced by her hands, but nods in silent approval.

The kids seem skeptical, but the beavers nod, convincing themselves, “Yeah- yeah, makes sense. It’d be screwin’ with the prophecy if we had more than four humans turn up, wouldn’t it dear?” He asks his wife.

“It’d be a thorn in old Aslan’s paw, that’s for sure.” The beaver woman adds.

“I suppose it makes sense then… no respectable human girl would dress like… that. No offense.” The older of the two girls speaks up from her place next to the boy and tiny redhead.

Did she just-? Your hand balls into a fist instinctively, but Celes lays a hand on your shoulder, holding you back.
>>
The ice sheet bumps up against the bank of the river, the ice finally giving out and splitting in half, everyone ending up in the river again as the ice capsizes, the other children seem to not know how to swim, but between the beavers, you and celes, you manage to haul them on shore.

“Roight then, Aslan’s camp is just a bit further up the way near the stone table. Once we’re there, he should be able to give us the real plan.” Mr Beaver grunts, hitching up his… fur?

The other kids pause a moment, shedding their heavy winter coats as the day grows inceasingly warmer and warmer, but sure enough the beavers lead the way. “Did Aslan send youse two to look after us then?” Mrs Beaver asks, after you introduce yourselves to the children; Peter, Susan and Lucy in descending age.

You and Celes share a look for a moment before responding.

“Not quite sure who this Aslan guy is, but since we’ve been having to fight off the witch’s cronies for a while, if he’s against her, sounds interesting. Mind if we come along with you?” You end up saying, swinging the keyblade up onto your shoulder with a quick motion.

The beavers look between each other several times and then back to you. “Wait, yer saying you ain’t got a clue who Aslan is, yet you’ve been ‘anging around in this place and fighting the witch’s minions? How’s that possible?” Mr. Beaver asks you, sounding real suspicious.

Rather than leaving it up to you, this is when Celes steps in “Well, a tall dwarf and a short giant aren’t exactly common are they? Our families weren’t exactly fond of either of us and we left when we were young, we’ve been together and wandering around ever since. Not much use for stopping to talk along the way with people that might not be friendly.” The blonde replies.

Mrs Beaver gives you a knowing look, “From up north are we dears? I hear they don’t know much about Aslan up there.” You and Celes quickly nod in unison.

The beaver seems to think it over for a moment before nodding. Mr Beaver starts to talk now “Well, it’s like this, yeah? Old Aslan, he’s the king of kings, right? He’s like a lion, but greater, and now these humans here’ve shown up, he’s back! And winters come to an end! So we’re bringing the humans to Aslan and together they can take out that evil witch!”

“Not to mention they’ll be the rulers.” Mrs beaver tuts.

The kids seem rather uncomfortable at that, but nod along all the same. “Well, the witch didn’t take too kindly to us, can we join the fight?” You offer.
>>
Mr Beaver nods, “Yeah sure, Aslan’s always looking for more folks to sign up. S’funny though, most the dwarves are on the witches’ side. And the giants….”

“Like we said, not much for family.” Celes interrupts nervously, “How far is it to the cam-”

She’s cut off by a horn as your little group crests over a hill.

An enormous army lies in the gentle valley below, preparing weapons, all sorts of strange creatures loitering about, centaurs, more of those goat legged men, satyrs, people made out of flower petals and more talking animals, even a few unicorns… you could just imagine Tala rushing over and demanding to ride one, as the moon white creature clops through the camp.

“The Great King Peter, and Queens Lucy and Susan have arrived!” Calls the hornblower, as cheers erupt from the camp below.

The beavers strut forward, the other kids follow behind, staring about curiously, Peter trying to look more mature by setting his jaw.

You let the beavers and other humans walk ahead and take your moment to slip into the crowd. Unfortunately, Celes does not seem keen to follow your lead. She enters the crowd yes, but follow along through it, pushing her way towards the centre of the camp, following the apparent rulers.

The crowd draws in closer, as Peter draws his sword from his hip, declaring he’s here to see Aslan. A hush falls over the crowd, a soft wind blowing throughout, as Celes jostles her way to the front.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxD2MJv7law

You stick a few rows back, as the curtains of the largest tent part, a majestic giant of a lion padds his way out onto a small rocky lip, overseeing the camp. He nods to the boy first, a soothing voice calling forth from his lips, “Welcome Peter; son of humanity, and to you Susan and Lucy, daughters of humanity. And thank you Beavers, for escorting them this far.” He pauses and sniffs the air, “And welcome to you too, strangers from distant lands, from even further away than these children.”

You’re suddenly feeling very aware of all the eyes on you… it’s not like your clothes exactly blend in.

Celes is panicking, her face going red, she tries to shrink back into the crowd, but a centaur shoves her forward. Before you can help it, a pair of goat legged men pull you forward as well, gentle, but firm.

The two of you in the open, the great lion stares over the two of you, amber eyes like pits you could just fall into…
>>
“Be not alarmed, my people. These are simply… travellers, like the witch, only seeking to spread goodness, rather than the dark the witch has lain on you.” Aslan finally rumbles, quieting the murmurs of the crowd around you. “Come forth, daughters of another world.”

Nervously, Celes steps up next to them, trying to hide her face, mumbling something about already failing her mission. “Peter, I would talk with you in private, along with these strangers.” Aslan states, turning on his heel and returning to his tent.”

Celes’s eyes are flitting about, looking for a way out, as Peter steps forward, grabbing your wrist.

You take Peter’s wrist in your free hand and firmly pull him off, “I can walk on my own thank you very much.” You tell him, before nudging Celes to follow along. Peter looks quite confused for a moment before following as well, the three of you entering the tent together behind the great Lion.

You certainly don’t have any idea what’s going to happen next, and a quick glance up to Celes reveals a very, very poorly hidden distressed appearance.

“Peter…” Aslan begins, “Do you believe in… what would your world call them?... Aliens, I suppose, for lack of a better term.” He nods, “Yes, do you believe in aliens?”

The boy seems confused, “You mean like the saucermen from the radio shows? I heard about them a bit, back when I was little… why?”

Aslan simply looks to you and Celes, “Well, that in basis, sums up what these girls are. Beings from another world, though not in the way that you’re most likely thinking…. even if they did arrive in a vessel designed to travel between worlds.” Peter’s eyes bug out for a moment, but he nods along. Must be used to weird stuff after the talking lion, you suppose.

Celes’ eyes light up at that, “You know where the Ragnarok is? I’d assumed that monkey boy had crashed it into the side of a mountain.”

Aslan sighs, “Well, there in lies the issue. It didn’t crash into a mountain. It crashed itself right on top of the White Witch’s castle, where I fear that your third friend has also been spending most of his time.”
>>
“She’s got Zidane?” You ask, worried for the monkey boy.

“She’s got our ship?” Celes demands at the same time.

The lion nods too the both of you. “Yes, and I’m afraid that she’s turned your vehicle to stone… and is manipulating your friend to her own ends, alongside Peter’s brother.”

Peter nods grimly, “But wait, what are you here for, anyways?”

Aslan tilts his head in curiosity too. “I must confess to not knowing the answer to that myself.”

Celes clears her throat, “We-we’re here to protect the princesses of light?” She stammers nervously. “And we believe this world to be home to at least one.”

Peter jerks his head out the tent again, “Probably Lucy, don’t know about how ‘light’ Susan is these days.”

“Peter!” Aslan cuts the boy’s laughter off. “Still, if you wish to protect those girls, or to get your ship back for that matter, it seems you’re best hope is in aiding me… the Witch might offer you your ship back in return, but she wants nothing more than to extinguish the lights of all humans in Narnia.” Heavy stuff. “Now, you two are free to go, make your own decisions. I have more to discuss with Peter.”

Outside the tent, Celes struts over and kicks a tree, venting her anger on it, only to apologise when it turns around and gripes at her for hurting it. She apologises and backs away slowly, dropping her head in her hands for a moment. “First that idiot crashes the ship, now he’s dumb enough to work for the enemy!?” She growls. “Why did I even agree to let that idiot on the ship?”

Not like it could have gone any other way in the show.

I'm on episode 26 now, the lack of any sort of Sun Ce feels weird.

>>41957782
You can emulate KH1, KH2, Chain of Memories, Birth By Sleep, Coded, 358/2 Days

Pretty much anything that isn't Dream Drop Distance
>>
>>41957803
Ballin'.
I assume I play them in the order they were released? Also, at what point does it stops being "Donald, Goofy, and some touhou kid beat up Disney villains" and start being all Zeltan Bippers final fantasy Original Nobody Do Not SUBMIT?
>>
>>41957782
You can emulate kingdom hearts 2 well on pscx2 (I think that's the emulator I use. Might have the name wrong) that's actually how I played KH2 final mix.
>>
>>41957827
somewhere in the middle of chain of memories, but it doesnt get really silly until 2, and then it goes off the deepend with bbs and days
>>
>>41957827
Play in release order.

It becomes more of a Belts n Zippers thing in KH2.

KH1 and Chain of Memories were surprisingly less light hearted despite the appearance of things.

Birth By Sleep is the best game in my opinion, but KH2 Final Mix is a close second just because it plays better and is more "fun"
>>
>>41957827
>I assume I play them in the order they were released?
I'd say play them in this order:
KH1, CoM, 358 Days, KH2, BBS

BBS is the first chronologically, but you'll appreciate it more of you play it last.

“Zidane did kinda mess up on this one…” You mutter, “But I’m sure he doesn’t know she’s bad. She’s got Peter’s brother tricked too, apparently. So she must be a little skilled at manipulating people, right?”

She grunts, collapsing down in the grass and looking out over the nearby river, small fish playing with water spirits, as Susan and Lucy play by the water, splashing each other. “He’s on probation if we get him back, AND if I even let him on the ship.” She adds.

“Celes, I’m sure he means well, even if he doesn’t always make the best decisions.”

She grunts and stares down as the girls play. “So… which one do you think is our princess then?” She asks, Lucy screaming as Susan dunks her into the water for a moment.

“Don’t know…” You whisper, “Peter said something about Lucy though, right? It was a joke but he might be right if they’re actually royalty and all.”

A sudden noise blasts out from down by the river bed, as you hear the girls screams grow more serious. “The princesses!” Celes hisses leaping to her feeting and taking off down the hill, her sabre whipping into her hand.

You see Peter rushing forwards as well, his broadsword held deadly tight. He overtakes you as you feel the compulsion to rush down the hill, his longer legs carrying him forward as you reach the bottom of the hill.

More of the wolf Heartless are here, along with the ice cube monsters, jiggling about in the grass, while the alpha wolf prowls in circles behind them, jumping and trying to snap at Lucy’s heels, the two girls trying to stay in the tree they climbed as the Heartless attempt to shunt it over, the tree roots groaning with effort.

Celes is moving like a dancer as her blade flashes towards the heartless, icy blasts flying everywhere.
>>
A wolf heartless manages to close it’s teeth around her wrist, dragging her off her feet and shaking her back and forth like a doll, as she grunts in pain, as more wolf heartless bash at the tree.

Behind them you can see Peter circling the alpha wolf, Maugrim you believe someone called him, while some of those ice cubes sneak up behind him.

An arrow thwacks into one of the wolf heartless from the tree, Susan notching another inexpertly as the heartless howls in pain and anger, slamming into the tree again.

You level your weapon at the monsters creeping up behind Peter, the ball of flame bursting a clump of them into the familiar oily smoke. With Peter defended, you rush into the fray to help Celes, keyblade held high and club the wolf holding Celes over the snout.

It snarls and jumps back, dragging Celes along with her, but she manages to get her own slash out cuts the wolfs head off, the beast bursting into another oily cloud, before you get mauled by a wolf leaping on you and sending you crashing to the floor. pinning you to the floor and snapping at your face.

You don’t have the time to get your keyblade between you to protect yourself throwing your left arm in it’s jaws instead, it savagely mauls your arm for a moment, teeth ripping at your skin, the keyblade thankfully mitigating some of the damage and stopping the skin from breaking… doesn’t stop it hurting like hell though.

You try and club the wolf over the head with the handguard of your keyblade, but it’s not having much effect. You can see Celes trying to cut through two more wolves to try and help you, but she’s not getting through them, Peter is still panicking as the wolf captain monologues at him.

You’re running short on options here… the pain’s getting worse and worse and-

Relief comes, as the wolf bursts into a cloud of smoke, a dagger appearing where it’s head had been, the tip glowing with a bright light for a moment. Lucy stares at the cloud of smoke, fingers bone white around the hilt of her weapon. Above Susan is screaming for her to get back into the tree.
>>
Another wolf heartless tries to leap at her, but you beat it aside, not finishing it, but sending it recoiling, as you shove Lucy up towards safety, “Thanks kid.” You grunt, too late. Three more of the wolves stand between you and the tree, with a cluster of the ice cubes dancing at their feet, about to fire more blasts at the two of you.

Lucy sets her jaw and holds her dagger out with both hands, nervously kicking her feet, as the wolf you bashed aside circles around you.

A high pitched whine rings out through the area, and you see Peter go down, the alpha wolf impaled on his blade, thankfully, giving the Heartless the moment’s pause you needed.

Aslan crests over the hill, his troops in tow, weapons drawn, but Aslan simply lets out an earth shaking roar, as the rest of the Heartless all burst into clouds of smoke instantly, as the noise nearly deafens you.

You fall backwards, noticing that none of the other humans seem to have been affected by it, Celes giving you a significant look, as she limps over and helps you back to your feet.

“You did well children.” Aslan acknowledges. “Peter, you’ve shown that within you lays the will of a leader, waiting to be released.” He nods to Celes, “You have proven yourself a true friend to Narnia, and are commended as such. Finally he nods at you and Lucy. “And you two have both proven yourself valourous and stalwart, even if you didn’t know you had it inside of you. Lucy, you shall make a great queen. And Vasi… you should make a great warrior of Narnia. How does the title Lady Vasi, the Knight of Spring sound to you?”

You feel a little spark of pride light up in your chest at that.

Some recognition… feels nice. Working for the light ain’t so bad.
