The two of you finish up your drinks, and then ask for the bill.

When you get it, you look it over. Not bad, considering how good the food was.

You leave payment and a tip, and stand to leave. And Claire stands as well, giving you a look at her outfit for the first time.

It's very classy. In fact, it kind of makes you feel under dressed...

She's wearing a loose-fitting sleeveless white blouse, and a tight black skirt in a style that you don't know the name of. The skirt goes down to her knees, and comes up to just below her breasts, where it's held in place by a belt. She's wearing boots with low heels, her hair is curled and tied up on one side, while a hat that borders on being a beret sits diagonally on the other... you'll just call it a beret, because you don't actually know what that kind of hat is called.

All in all, she looks very... French, and very cute. Like... incredibly cute. To the point where you just want to pick her up and take her home.

Along the way, you can't help but notice that Claire seems to be quite comfortable with your proximity. Such that she makes no attempt to get any distance, and quickly closes back in when distance presents itself. Not that you mind, it's just something you noticed.

The CN Tower is only a short walk from Union Station via the PATH, and the elevator take you up to the bubble (or whatever it's actually called) at speeds that almost make you feel uncomfortable.

You briefly remember the time you entered slow-time on the elevator in your apartment as it was going up. You wound up exceeding the weight limit, as your slowed form applied too much resistance to the movement of the elevator. You ended up being stuck in there for a bit longer than you felt comfortable with.

You haven't attempted time fuckery like that in a moving vehicle since. Slowing yourself down a little is okay, but in that instance you were pretty close to being stopped.

You're both pretty glad when the elevator lets you out, and you exchange a look of silent relief with each other.

On the west side of the tower, where it looks down the coast of the lake and towards the sunset.

"So?" You ask.

The scene out the window is everything you could've hoped for. The sun is a mere sliver on the horizon, casting a crimson glow on the puffy clouds that litter the skyline. The ground below is split between the city, with its suburbs and skyscrapers, and the lake.

You look back at Claire to see what she thinks. She looks out the window with a slight smile, and the lingering sunlight casting a reflection in her brown eyes.

It takes a moment to realize that you're looking at the wrong view... and you don't even care. Truthfully, you didn't come up here to see the sunset. You came up here to see this.

Claire leans into you, and looks up to catch you staring. She smiles bashfully as her eyes avoid contact. "What?" She asks.

You smile at her.

"You know... you really are beautiful" You say.
"Th-thanks" She says. Her shoulders tense up, and she glances up at you occasionally as her eyes move around.

After a moment, you turn yourself so you're in front of her, and place a hand on her cheek. Her eyes go wide and lock with yours.

She knows what you're about to do. You search her face for some sign, anything that says 'go ahead'.

Her lips part ever so slightly, and you steel yourself. That was it.

You move in, touching your lips to hers. A light touch at first, before you move away to gauge her reaction.

Claire moves her hands around your waist, and pushes her chin forward. So you move in again, and this time you actually go for it.

Once, twice, again, and again. Each time you keep contact a little longer, like you're somehow afraid you might cross some line...

But the line never comes, and after the 4th or 5th kiss you realize that it isn't coming.

So the hand on her cheek moves around to the back of her neck, and your other hand goes to her upper arm. You pull her in and kiss her more deeply. You don't let your nerves get in your way this time, as you claim her lips with your own. You laugh inwardly at the idea of french kissing the french girl, but that is indeed what you are doing.

After who knows how long, you break away. Both of you look around to see if anyone saw your little public display of affection, and your gaze is met with averted eyes...

Oh, so what. Let them judge.

Claire smiles bashfully. "You're... a pretty good kisser" She says.
"And you certainly live up to what they say about the French" You say.

Claire giggles and you take one last, lingering look out the window. The sun has disappeared under the horizon, leaving the red moon as the only celestial body visible with the city lights.

"Come on, let's get going" You say.

The two of you make your way back to the elevator.

Tonight was a good night.
You doubt you'll get another like it.
