The last empires of Man have crumbled to dust, and barbarism has descended upon the darkened universe...

But one woman shines as a beacon of triumph - Cassiopeia, Queen of the Cosmos!

Having bested the crime-lord Longorus, Cassiopeia returns to Arabesh with her prize, the Princess of Arabesh, for whose safe return her father would pay a fortune! Cassiopeia's fabled luck fell against her, however, for she found herself betrayed by the princess's betrothed!

"Confess! Confess your treason and we will give you a speedy demise!"

Again and again the lash falls upon Cassiopeia's form, and as she laboriously grinds her teeth to keep suppressed a scream of pain, the torturatrix cries "Such obduracy! Do you think we enjoy this?"

"Ah, Cassiopeia, I trust you are enjoying the king's hospitality? I want to thank you again for delivering the princess to us. And this remarkable burner, as well! To think such a weapon might have survived after all these years!"

Ardenzo grins at the rage flickering in Cassiopeia's eyes. "You will be tried for treason, for attempting to defile the princess," he grins, taunting her further. "You will find Arabeshi justice severe, but fair." At this, she sees a flicker of mirth cross his face, and he crosses out of her vision before leaning in, close enough to whisper in her ear...

>>
>>42056687
But what reason could Ardenzo have for wanting Barand banished?
>>
>>42056736
Maybe there was something that Ardenzo could not get with Barand there, something that would automatically go to Barand if he was still there.

"That was astonishing!" pants the princess as she collapses atop Cassiopeia.

"Indeed. Your maid is attentive as well," Cassiopeia smiles as the women curl their forms against one another. "If you wish to keep that perfect figure, you would be wise to call off your impending wedding, for Lord Ardenzo means to have you killed, to lay some claim to your father's house."

"He would never!" the princess gasps, as she stiffens and draws herself upright. "He loves me!"

"He told me as much himself," Cassiopeia counters, tossing her sweat-drenched hair. "He will likely kill you after the wedding, and me as well, for if marrying you grants him the throne, who then will stop him?"

"Such a thing cannot be!"

"What of Barand," Cassiopeia continues. "Did you not say he served your father loyally? What did he do that was so awful to merit exile?"
