>This is a quest taking place in an alternate version of the Naruto world during the same time period as the story, with a few notable differences. You will be playing as Kon Karagowa, a Leaf Genin. Your character is defined by your choices, so write-ins are always encouraged. And remember to have fun!

After Tazuna's daughter Tsunami fixes breakfast, your team eats and heads out to a nearby grove to start training.

Kakashi Sensei, now supported by crutches, addresses the team.

"The only way you three are going to get measurably better in the little time we have is by working on your chakra control." your Sensei explains. "Now, I trust that all of you remember the basic workings of chakra?"

"Maybe we could get a refresher?" you ask.

"Of course." your Sensei replies. "Using chakra requires you to draw on your spiritual and physical energies. This must be done in exactly the right proportion, or you're just wasting energy. Thus, the goal of this training is to practice until you can draw out your chakra as effectively as possible. In battle, managing your chakra must be second nature, or you'll run out and be unable to fight."

"So what exactly are we doing?" Sasuke asks.

"We'll be climbing trees." your Sensei states.

Your team looks confused.

"But there's a stipulation." Kakashi goes on. "You can't use your hands. You must climb the tree by focusing your chakra to the soles of your feet, like so."

Kakashi Sensei makes a hand sign to focus his chakra. Then, crutches and all, he walks slowly up the side of the tree. When he reaches a high branch, he even walks along the underside before turning to address you upside down.

"The soles of the feet are said to be the hardest location in the body to focus chakra, so if you can accomplish this, you are well on your way to mastering chakra control. This same principle can also be used to walk across the surface of water, as you saw Zabuza and I do earlier."

He throws three kunai down at your feet. "Try to climb the tree and mark your progress, attempting to get higher each time. You'll want to get a running start at first."

The three of you take the kunai and face separate trees, then begin focusing your chakra.

You focus the chakra to your feet and run at the tree. As you start to go up, you feel your feet attracted to the tree. You keep going up, and feel the chakra fluctuating. in order to not fall off, you have to adjust the amount of chakra in your feet.

"Here I go!" Kiba, as enthusiastic as ever, runs at the tree. He only gets a few feet up before falling back down and hitting his head. Luckily Akamaru had ditched his usual resting spot before Kiba fell.

Sasuke takes to the tree a bit too hard. He runs a few feet up, but the tree begins to crack at the force of his chakra, and he falls down.

You however reach a branch quite high up, and decide to call it there, taking a rest on the branch.

"Well, well." Kakashi remarks. "That's about what I expected from Sasuke and Kiba, but you gave me quite the surprise, Kon. That's some impressive chakra control."

The three of you keep training for quite a while, making good progress, before Kakashi comes up to you.

"Tazuna needs at least one escort while he works on the bridge." he tells you. "You seem to have this exercise down pretty well, so I think you should go."

You offer some tips to Kiba and Sasuke before you go. Though they try to look stubborn, they clearly listen intently.

Later on, you reach the bridge with Tazuna. You watch him and his workers as they assemble the bridge, not doing much of anything yourself except staying alert.

Around lunchtime, one of the workers, Giichi, comes up to Tazuna.

"Tazuna." he calls. "I need to talk to you. I've been thinking about the bridge, and I think I should stop."

"What?" exclaims Tazuna. "After we've come this far, now you're quitting on me?"

"I stayed this long because of our friendship." Giichi continues. "But I'm risking my life every day I come here. Gato's thugs will come and kill you eventually, and the bridge will never get finished. We should get out while we can."

Tazuna grits his teeth. You notice his fists clenching.

>>
I think that, since OP has a parent in mind for both mother and father, we should let him decide what we look like.

>>
>>42169764
Know what I think we should start discussing? What we're gonna do when the Chunin exams happen. I mean, unless we start increasing our stats, we're gonna kinda get fucked by literally everyone. Especially if Orochimaru enters the picture like he did in the series.
>>
>>42169660
You decided the options that were listed, anon.
>>42169609
Short-ish platinum blonde hair with green eyes and a slightly unsettling grin seemed to have some support last thread. This was based on the suggestion of Gin as a starting point, which in turn was due to the fact that OP stated Kon's uncle looks a lot like the ramen guy with the perpetual squinty anime eyes. It was even a natural color.

Then the contrarian faggots rolled in with tomato red, green shades, blue shades, etc.
>>
>>42169793
Yeah, that. We shouldn't metagame by expecting Orochimaru, but we do need to improve. We should work on honing chakra control and reserves, so that we can keep doing crazy substitutions and stuff. That and a bit of using our speed with our weapon.
>>
>>42169832
Hell maybe Orochimaru is a good guy in this setting?
>>
>>42169701
Shaggy lookin' hair that's 5 inches.
>>
>>42169832
We don't even really know Orochimaru will show up, even if we are metagaming. He showed up for Sasuke, or am I remembering incorrectly? Our Sasuke doesn't seem to be anywhere near as driven as the canon one, so who knows if Orochimaru would have any interest whatsoever.
>>
>>42169793
Also i cant imagine throwing kunai with explosives working for al that much longer, regardless of tactics
>>
>>42169805
Then why are you complaining about the options listed? Platinum Blonde was on there. Anything that had a modicom of support in the last thread, and this one was included. Don't take the results if you want, but I don't think I skewed it seeing as what I thought was cool didn't win.
>>
>>42169701

>>
How about we just let the first drawfag to put up something good decide on our appearance?
And y'all are REALLY arguing about hair LENGTH AND STYLE?
That can change when we hit the inevitable timeskip.
>>
>>42169937
You're the one making big claims without support and insisting that the majority feel the same.

>>
>>42169977

>>
>>42169875
Hence the chakra, as we seem to have a gift with controlling it. Then we can substitute for explosives and make people hesitate to get close. That would shore up the weakness of our strength, since nobody would come close to engage us.

It's pretty obvious. Chakra control improves our abilities and builds us towards using our chakra nature, and building our strength shores up our greatest weakness while improving our ability to use our weapons.

Can we learn taijutsu from Guy?
And then prank Kakashi by hengeing ourselfs into green spandex and bowl cut, and ranting about youth?
>>
>>42170442
I kind of tend to think that since strength training and chakra control are foundational for every specialty we should work on them. At least to the point where they're not weaknesses.

When we have our nature as an option and can conceivably handle larger or more unusual weapons, we can decide on a specialty to build around.
>>
>>42170632
I still think combat sealing would be interesting and play to our strength.
>>
>>42170610
I'm sure you could catch a few sessions with Guy, he's always willing to help people out
>>
>>42170655
Sealing isn't commonly taught, though I suppose Tenten could show us the ropes (since that's the cornerstone of her canon style). At least to the effect that Sasuke uses them late in canon to produce just enough weapons when they're needed.

I really do want to make sure we get to the point where we can learn our nature. Depending on what it is, it could be useful and powerful.

>>42170657
Not a bad idea. Weighted clothing could help us without distracting from other training.
>>
>>42170735
Kakashi also uses sealing.
Plus, on a long mission we could carry a lot of supplies.
>>
>>42170735
Then we can troll Sasuke into thinking nudity makes you stronger.
>>
>>42170799
Sealing explosive tags on our palms could be cool.

Plan Kimblee is a go
>>
>>42170735
Weighted poncho!
>>
>>42170914
Do you want to lose a hand? We don't have to copy Naruto that much.
>>
>>42170914
Sealing directly into our flesh seems a bit overboard, but there are those bracers Sasuke uses in canon to store shuriken. Maybe use those, instead? Less risk of exploding ourself, since we could always just take it off if something goes wrong.
>>
>>42170942
Doesn't distribute the weight properly. Weighted clothes work by increasing resistance to all of your movements, causing your body to have to work a little harder for everything, thus increasing strength and endurance. A weighted poncho wouldn't do much of anything.
>>
Has no one thought about stealing zabuzas sword? hell, we probably could have done that before haku left with his body.
>>
>>42170959
Yeah, plus we could learn to make custom exploding tags. Bigger boom, hotter boom, shaped charges, the works.
>>42170984
Some sort of gravity/resistance seal?
>>
>>42170959
Ah. I used to read the manga, and always thought those were tattooed straight onto his wrists because the color difference wasn't that pronounced.
>>
>>42170984
Piccolo.
>>
>>42171009
Actually I've been suggesting that for a while, as a gift for Tenten in return for more training in being a sneaky exploding weapons dude. I also sorta suggested blowing it up in combat.

>>42171022
The Uzumaki had a technique like that if memory serves.
>>
>>42171009
Why?
It doesn't really fit either the "fight smarter not harder" or "when all else fails, blow shit up" elements f our style. It's a big, clunky sword that we have no training with whatsoever.
>>
>>42171050
Weighted clothing is a real thing, that works in a specific way, anon.
We are not a Namekian, hell we're not even in the same SETTING, so what Piccolo does has no bearing on us.
>>
>>42171066
We could always sell it to make up for the fact that our Client is a lying cheat.
>>
>>42171066
I thought we were specializing with swords since we have that fancy hook whiped one. also isn't his sword one of those fancy 7 swords? i remember someone stealing it in the show, so it must be special somehow
>>
>>42171009
We didn't really have a chance. Haku was on the body pretty fast, we wouldn't have had time to take Zabuza's stuff. And it probably just didn't occur to us. Kon can't carry that thing, he wouldn't even think to try to take it.
>>
>>42171101
It worked with all those weapons we were carrying the other day.
>>
>>42171138
It is. Which is why we weren't going to take it in front of someone we thought was a Mist hunter-nin. You don't steal cultural treasures from someone recovering them from the last guy who stole them. Besides, we're not nearly strong enough to wield it. The thing's larger and heavier than we are.

>>42171175
Which we had attached all over our body, not just hanging from our shoulders. That's the point, that you need to distribute the weight or you won't get proper gains.
>>
>>42171138
A kyoketsu-shoge isn't a sword, dude. It's a dagger attached to a rope.
>>42171175
The ones we had strapped all over our body, in addition to the big ol' pile we were carrying?
All a weighted poncho would do is give us Tien tier trapezii and shoulders, and a fuckload of back problems, because all that weight is gonna sit on the shoulders and nowhere else.
>>
When we get weights, we need to make them explosive so that when we take them off, instead of just dropping them like Lee, we can throw them and cause a distraction with out speed increase.

> our 'style'

Our style so far doesn't exactly mean shit, anon. We're a fucking Genin. We're supposed to be expanding our horizons and growing in meaningful ways, experimenting with new shit; some of it will work, and some of it will not.

But most of the people that follow this quest are all about 'our current style' and 'muh stats', so much so that we won't really ever evolve as a character, and I think that's pretty much par for the course with quest-goers on /tg/.
>>
>>42171448
Thus, why I advocated working on the basics. Ideally while interacting with other students like Tenten's team or team Guy.
>>
At the moment we're just fast, and pretty good at Taijutsu. I think we do need to learn some jutsu, so we can change a scenario around, but at the moment, I think it just needs to be something hard-hitting.

Given our disposition for explosions, and good chakra manipulation, some sort of chakra grenade. It doesn't need to be chidori or rasengan tier, just something of our own.

And honestly causing an explosion with chakra doesn't seem to be too difficult to learn ourselves, and we can expand on it later when we're better with chain explosions, sticky grenades or delayed explosions.
>>
>>42171448
That sword is literally bigger than we are, and our strength is mediocre at best. We are NOT a powerhouse. We're some random schmuck genin who happens to be a clever fighter. Based on what information we have available to us, we will NEVER be able to take on the big name bloodline hax guys in a straight fight, and that sword is only useful FOR a straight fight. So we fight dirty. We should focus on getting better across the board, but that sword both doesn't help with that, and actively obstructs the use of clever tactics on our part by weighing more than we do.
Now, IF we turn out to have our family's Kekkei Genkai (dad didn't have whatever it was, so who knows if we will) that might change things. But for now we need to plan as if we're gonna be a normal dude our whole life.
>>
>>42171630
Exploding fists were a thing in the show.
>>
>>42171630
>I think we do need to learn some jutsu
Agreed, but the way that's going to happen is working on our hand signs and chakra control. We need to shore up our other fundamentals before we even START thinking about anything more complex than that.

A chakra blade in an exotic sort of design could be cool. A chain mine with explosive tags could be cool. Sealing weapons into gauntlets/arm guards could be cool. But we're not at that point yet. So let's focus on the simple things for now, yeah?
>>
>>42171763
>>42171861

And? It doesn't have to be super unique, just something we're likely to come up with in-character.

All you have to do is imagine, we learn to manipulate our chakra more. We try to pile it all together at once, it becomes unstable, and explodes. We've just learn Boom-Jutsu
>>
Guys, idea for clothing.
Rifle green tactical turtleneck (tactleneck?), under a coyote brown flak vest with more pockets tan the standard issue.
Coyote brown cargo pants.
Boots with a spy movie toe-knife coated in the nastiest poison we can get our hands on.
Green poncho in our gear for use in inclement weather.
Watch cap.
>>
>>42171448
>But most of the people that follow this quest are all about 'our current style' and 'muh stats', so much so that we won't really ever evolve as a character, and I think that's pretty much par for the course with quest-goers on /tg/.
To be fair, I want to learn sealing. If we eventually get gud enough with sealing, we might be able to learn Flying Thunder God, which would be awesome. If not, eh, we can still pack in ludicrous explosives.
>>
Could we get a bucket and fill it with water, and try to stand on the water, whilst we guard Tazuna. I mean Kakashi's told us the tree climbing thing is the same principle, and it lets us stay near him to guard him. And let's face it, if we're staying fairly canon here, we've got 6 days with nothing to do.
>>
>>42172102
I like this idea, actually. A lot.
It lets us get two things done at once.
Hell, do squats while standing on the water while guarding Tazuna.
>>
>>42171763
>>42171885
>>42171630

Explosive Chakra is part of a Hidden Stone Bloodline
>>
>>42172157
Which is kind of lame as bloodlines go, since high enough concentrations of chakra will explode anyway as they ground out. I guess Explosion Release is just more efficient at it?
>>
Wait!
Laze I need a QM ruling on something.
If we got good enough at pumping Chakra through our feet, how far could we push that?
Could we get "running on rain/leaves/sand being blown by the wind" good? Could we get "run on the molecules that make up the air itself" good?
>>
>>42171885
You're not listening, anon. Kakashi even told us last thread that we need to work on chakra control before we even think about our nature affinity. If we want to learn new things, we HAVE to lay the groundwork first. That's all there is to it.
>>
>>42172157
Is it? Meh. I was just thinking like the Rasengan. I mean Naruto had no idea about the fourth using it, and it didn't require any specific nature to learn to use it. When he didn't quite get it, his hands were always scorched and injured during his training, and assumed that if you put too much chakra in one place it causes heat, which could lead to explosions.
>>
>>42172216
it had Nanobomb clouds, and Shape charge punches
Deidara had it and it was the source of all his explosive techniques.
>>
>>42172237
Air is just too empty, there's not enough to get a foothold
>>
Didn't somebody mention archery a few threads back?
That mite b cool if we do it right.
Arrow covered in explosive tags, with a chakra-infused version of a VT Fuze (uses radar to detect when it's close to something, detonates just short of impact to maximize explosive effect) to set them all off.
>>
>>42172243
Then stop thinking like that.

Shit's way into metagaming when we're trying to plan out our training based on techniques our character has no way to know exist.
>>
>>42172292
But is the rain/leaves/sand/whatever trick theoretically possible?
>>
>>42172288
The nanobombs were him combining it with a forbidden technique, those hand-mouths he had. They let you infuse any type of chakra into the clay to manipulate it more finely and do weird things with the constructs, he just happened to have explosive chakra to put into them.
>>
>>42172237
Like the Ripple?
>>
>>42172332
It would only work if there was enough to get a foothold, and they weren't too flimsy

Like you could run on a stream of water, but some leaves in the wind just aren't steady enough, even if they were enough to support you
>>
>>42172407
Fair enough.
>>
I kinda like the idea of two weapons at opposite ends of a long chain. Right now the hookshot thing we've got is more of a gimmick than a proper weapon.

A kama on one end and a short sword on the other could be a useful combination, and would basically duplicate what we've got.
>>
>>42172545
I think this is a good idea, actually.

Mostly because it's a compromise between swordfags and shogelfags.
>>
>>42172545
Eh. The only "weapon on a long chain" weapon where you actually ise the chain to swing the weapon half is the Okinawan Kusarigama (distinct from its Japanese cousin, on which the chain is meant to bind an opponents weapon or limbs so that you're free to lay into them with the kama).
>>
>>42172545
>>42172620
But then both ends are too big and awkward to bind with, and that's the main advantage of a chain attached to your weapon.
>>
>>42172669
So use the head of the tool we've got now. Point is, we don't really have a real weapon. Just a gimmicky little blade on a rope.
>>
>>42172743
You keep getting this backwards. It's a rope on a blade, not a blade on a rope. You use the rope to bind, while still holding rhe knife, then shank with the knife. Putting a second blade at the other end is just asking to injure ourself.
>>
>>42172545
I'm not sure what's actually wrong with the kyoketsu-shoge we've got now. It's tricky enough for it to have worked against some jounin. There's room for improvement later when we learn chakra manipulation, so we can start moving the chain mid-air. And let's face it, Naruto is predominantly about magic powers, if we can't improve it with magic, then we can't improve anything else either.
>>
>>42172743
it's a dagger, Grapplinghook, rope dark, and garrote.
the fact that it's a quirky weapon is a plus in the narutoverse.
>>
>>42172820
I'm not "getting it backwards", I'm suggesting we reverse it. Get ourselves a better weapon that can be used in a tricky way.

And with this setup the sword end would stay in our hand while the other head entangles or distracts.
>>
Think we can pull a 'Get over here!' Move with the kyoketsu? Or hook onto someone and pull them out of the way of an attack?
>>

>>42172918
If we're gonna do that then we should just disconnect them and have a sword in one hand, a kusari-fundo in the other. It can be hard to swing a sword properly when the hilt is tied to your enemy.
>>
>>42173025
Kinda what I was hoping to eventually be able to do with the spiked-chain-mine.
>>
>>42172918
Your fundamental premise is that it's somehow a bad weapon. In a series in which the main weapon is predominantly throwing knives, which in real life were essentially used as crowbars. Real life ability doesn't necessarily translate into shounen anime.
>>
>>42173075
The chain would still be in your left hand, meaning your right hand would have enough slack to maneuver the short sword.
>>
>>42173190
There's also the fact that you keep saying the kyoketsu-shoge isn't a "real weapon", and yet your "solution" for this is to replace the knife part with a sword, for no real reason. The only change you're making reeks of swordfaggotry.
>>
>>42173275
Can we try for the kusanagi?

If we have to take the bullet for Sasuke and become Orochimaru's apprentice. Sasuke can train under Tsunade while Kiba will go with Jiraiya.

Orochimaru's goal? Activating our father bloodline trait. With ninja science.
>>
>>42173320
Again, In this series swords get blocked by fucking kunai. Heck, senbon can get countered by other fucking senbon. The practicality of a weapon is irrelevant. If we want to use our kyoketsu-shoge in a sword fight, it will work just as well, if not better than a standard short-sword.
>>
>>42173359
>The proposal was to put the kyoketsu-shoge's rope end at the hilt of a sword, making it a double ended weapon with a length of chain or rope between them.
So your proposal is even MORE retarded. The dagger end of the kyoketsu-shoge is too big (about two feet long when you include the length of the hilt) and awkwardly balanced (that second blade sticking out from the side) to be a good weighted end to the binding rope.
>>
>>42173320
Or we replace the rope with a chain. Done. Now we have the same weapon and the fucker can't just cut the rope.
>>
>>42173589
>How do you exploit that opening now?
You stab them with the fucking Kyoketsu-Shoge, Here's a video on how you actually use one since you don't seem to understand.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryQlidIlVHo
>>
>>42173589
Or you can use your free hand to throw your Kunai, or Kunai with explosive tags, or you use your free hand to make the seals so you can use a jutsu. If anything having a weapon which requires two hands if a massive downside.
>>
>>42173589
Oh no you aren't allowed to delete your retardation buddy.
>Okay, let's run with your apparent premise here that the kyoketsu-shoge can stand against any other weapon in the series. You throw it out, it tangles your opponent just like you should, and you trip them. They look like a fucking moron, and they're totally open.
>How do you exploit that opening now?
>Not only does having a short sword in your other hand give you that immediate follow-up, but it lets you be more flexible in how you fight because now you have a length of chain and a sword to use at a completely different spacing from how a thrown chain weapon would be used. Hell, going by your logic adding in an extra upgrade like that has no downside because "practicality is irrelevant". So why wouldn't we?
>>
For close combat maybe tonfas would be a good choice. Lots of sword fighters in this series...

Something defensive.
>>
>>42173655

Question. Why are some people so against the shoge having the shortsword part instead of a knife? Would that really be such a bad thing?

>>42173913
That's not what the retard was saying, He was saying instead of having the ring part having a fucking shortsword on it.

>>
>>42173897
Or bouncy balls covered in tags, can't exactly predict the path, especially if they have a bit of weight to them.
>>
Thoughts on napalm-esque/sticky-fire bombs?
>>
>>42173975
If you are talking about Nuibari then you are kinda wrong on that front. Nuibari is a needle like sword on a thin wire that had the gimmick of piercing. It could be thrown to pierce through multiple targets where a fast user could then run, catch, and then throw it again to use a 'sewing' like sword style which can then be used to literally stitch the bodies together by pulling the thread taut. Something we defintely could not do with a short sword instead of a knife on the shoge.
>>
>>42174090
I was actually thinking making just circular bombs with seals on them so that chakra can set them off.
>>
>>42173975
>disappear back into the horde of anons
Fair point.
>>
>>42174166
Bit imagine the shock on their face when we "miss" them, it hits a tree, and they explode.
>>
>>42174161
if you're using chakra to do it then it's probably a Lava release technique(Fire+Earth)
>>
>>42174161
Really, I'd want to wait until we know our chakra nature before we come up with a long-term stylistic decision. I think we're getting ahead of ourselves trying to come up with cute/special weapons at this point.

Just think, if we put our effort into firebombs or something and we find out our chakra nature could duplicate it easier and more effectively, it would mean we'd wasted our time.
>>
>>42174255
Boiling sand would also be quite fearsome, since it gets under clothes.

>>42174313
Eh, I'm just proposing possible bomb types since there's not much else to do while we wait for Laze.
>>
>>42174313
Lightning is always good if you're weapon of choice has a metal chain
>>
>>42174420
We probably won't have much choice. Either it'll be random or it's a kekkei genkai that's predetermined. But lucky enough chakra blades are a thing, and I see nothing in the rules that'd suggest you can't make a chain out of the stuff.

Expensive, probably.
>>
>>42174420
Honestly i'd prefer fire, Since explosives AND it'd cover Kiba and Sasukes element/
>>
>>42174465
Fuck that. We're making a chain of tiny, barbed mines that can detach after wrapping around a limb.
>>
I notice we have good stamina and decent ninjutsu. That makes for a good beginning puppet-user.
>>
>>42174503
I'm pulling for Boil. That release was never really explored as much as it could have been, but I can see it doing terrible things to people.

Water clones that dissolve into acid? Fuck the hell yes!
>>
>>42174503
Fire is the most common element in Konoha, and Explosive chakra is an Earth+?(likely Lightning as Fire+Earth equals lava)
>>
>>42174551
I stand by it, being a puppet user might be a good choice for us

Easy delivery for explosives and can suit it out with any equiptment we want, they dont even have to be a huge part of our ability roster just something we have
>>
>>42174551
>>42174614
>Suna will surely teach one of its trademark techniques to some random Leaf genin!
>>
>>42174747
>Not noticing that puppets where for sale at TenTens place
Surely someone would know how to use them if they where for sale
>>
>>42174614
Even then, chakra control for the strings is the same thing we SHOULD be doing.

Also, I wonder if using our chakra to control a ninja's body against their will would be a good trick to even the odds.

Try to play any Naruto game as puppeteer and actually win to see how much of bitch they are

>>
>>42175024
>>42175176
We get it, you like puppets. But it doesn't seem practical right now, because we're a fresh genin who needs to work on his basic skills.
>>
>>42174614
I like puppets too but the puppeteer corps of suna are pretty unique. Nobody else seems to have access to any remotely similar abilities. I'm guessing the puppets themselves are really complicated to build. If the only obstacle was chakra control then puppets would be more common.
>>
>>42175270
I like puppets too, but I have to agree with this. We don't want to be a one-trick pony like Kankuro.

I've been putting them on suptg

Good as done, brother.

Seems like someone beat me to it. Probably for the best, since I numbered it 7 by mistake.

Thanks anyway

And thanks to that anon
>>
Good thing we agreed to how we look!
Greenish silver hair with rainbow poncho and old clan wars era armor underneath!

I will not let this die!

>>42183518
Anon pls. Green silver hair is fine by a rainbow poncho doesn't fit with actual Naruto fashion.
>>
>>42183738
>he doesn't want to have a gigantic recognizable target that we can use as an impromptu shadow clone/replacement jutsu
>>
>>42183801
We don't even HAVE Shadow Clone, dingus.
>>
I actually would prefer black hair, green eyes, etc. over any other option. Basically nondescript aside from the creepy smile.
>>
>>42184101
We'd basically just look like Sai then.
>>
So we all can agree that we should try to marry Kaguya right?

Basically, we can use it to conceal stuff, it makes a great distraction, and we could look like a horrid technicolor nightmare.

>>42183738
Naruto wears an orange suit, we can't get much less fashionable than that.
>>
>>42184228
Tenten seems more in line with our character. And it would be a badass combo of explosions and weapons. Kaguya is at the bottom of my list.
>>
>>42184228
>implying Kaguya would ever notice a mortal to be anything more than a speck of dust, unless they've inherited her son's chakra.

anon try to be reasonable
>>
>>42183518
when was a poncho ever agreed upon?
or are you just one of those hippie shitposters who seem dedicated to trying to wreck the quest by putting words into others mouths.
>>
>>42184272
>we can use it to conceal stuff
They have these things that you keep stuff in, where people can't see what's inside them until you pull it out. They're called "pockets", and the standard Konoha flak vest has them.
>it makes a great distraction
Not really. The best we could do is throw it at someone and hope they're enough of an amateur to be distracted by it and not just swat it away.
>we could look like a horrid technicolor nightmare
And this is a good thing, how?
>>42184272
>Naruto wears an orange suit, we can't get much less fashionable than that.
Yes we can. At least his track suit is color coordinated. Looking like a walking pride parade is just stupid and tacky for the sake of "so randumb".
>>
>>42184433
I wasn't advocating it, there are virtues to the idea, but I'd rather it be a normal poncho. Then again, I'm of the opinion that the more stuff we can line with tags, the better.
>>
>>42184433
This. Naruto has solid fashion despite some of the colors used. It's a bright unninja color, but most of the ninja in this series tend to tame their clothing as they grow up. Hell, it's peace time anyway. That and real ninja shouldn't need to rely on mere colors to hide themselves. Ninja technology has come much farther than that!
>>
>>42184481
A normal poncho in a color that works with the rest of our design could be a good thing to have for inclement weather (it'll see a lot of use if we wind up doing Clash in the Land of Snow), but wearing one at all times is silly.
>>
>>42184182
Sai was nice and nondescript aside from his rather uncomfortably tight uniform.

>>42184313
Definitely the case. Tenten was also the first character to really open up to Kon about anything personal, which seems important.

>>42184481
I always thought as standard a uniform as possible would be best. Fly under the radar, creep a few people out, then blow up all of the things.
>>
>>42184535
Well yeah, but when you look at it, a poncho is just a blanket with a hole in it. That makes it great to bring for night watch duty and sleeping. It is a piece of equipment like anything else.
>>
>>42184573
Yeah, cold is a form of inclement weather, and that's what it's for. Just like we should have a heavier coat (possibly hooded?) and pants for winter, and lighter wear for when it gets hot.
Our style should be a set of general guidelines and one or two key "always have 'em" accessories, with us dressing to the weather.
>>
>>42184628
Yeah, people wearing the same clothes all the time is a little odd. Maybe we should keep it down to just normal color scheme and a green wool poncho for weather.
>>
>>42184687
Possibly a green wool poncho for regular cold, and a heavier white one we bring for when we expect snow.
>>
>>42184551
Yeah, Tenten is definitely the only girl we have met in quest, but Metagaming to know all the others says she's the least bitchy option. And no, I don't think Tsunade is even close to an option
>>
>>42184687
Konoha probably issues gear for inclement weather.
>>
>>42184710
>actual camouflage
No, let's wear an orange outfit that everyone could see for miles around. It's funny that so many people in the series rely on techniques before actually preparing for stuff. Like weather. Or gas. Or literally anything.
>>
>>42184770
Actual camouflage is bad idea for when we go to cities and stuff
>>
>>42184871
>Cities
Urban Camouflage is a thing anon.
>>
>>42184889
And is actually pretty shitty. There's a reason the military has never bothered with it. Concealment trumps camouflage and is ABUNDANT in cities.
>>
>>42184938
It's mostly just to break up the human silhouette, anyway.
>>
>>42185241
And before camo in cities came up nobody was discussing pattern camo, just "colors that somewhat match the scenery" camouflage.
>>
>>42185265
True. I simply meant that the exact colors are more of a fiddly little detail anyway. Besides, it's Naruto. Doesn't matter that much.

Sounds like someone might live in Washington. Had to deal with gale force winds and power outtages today too (around 10 AM to 5 PM Pacific)
