You blink, a little shocked to see the Hokage being so informal. Of course, you've always heard the tales about his personality and from your teacher Shino. You nod. "Of course." He smiles, kneeling down to your level. "Great. You see, someone very important to me is going to be on this mission with you, today. I was wondering if I could ask you to do me a favor, and protect her if you can? I've heard you're a really smart Genin, and I know that everyone else going on the mission is talented as well. But I think you in particular can help me with this."

He claps his hands together, and bows his head. You literally take a step back, looking around in surprise, hoping that no one is seeing the Hokage bow down to you. Naruto pleads. "Please do this for me! I don't want Himawari to miss out on the opportunity for experience, but I don't wish to see harm brought to her either! I would be in your debt, Takeshi."

He stands back up, and waves. "See ya!"

He vanishes, leaving nothing but a small swirl of dust behind. You turn back to the village gates and approach it, finding the wagon that you'll be taking to the Cloud village. It's a wooden carriage with two horses and two drivers sitting up front. There's a small awning and two beds on top of it, and a small wooden border to prevent someone from rolling off. You know that the interior of the carriage is a prison, containing the Cultist. He must be behind several sets of iron bars and cuffs as well. On the right side of the carriage you can see your squad, while on the left you see Kayo's. Hanto and Kichiro both look sleepy, while Ai looks as attentive as ever. On the other side, you can see Kayo's squad.

Their Jounin is Mirai Sarutobi, the daughter of two renowned Jounin, as well as cousin of Konohamaru, grandson of the Third Hokage. Then there is also Kayo Inuzuka. A good sensor from a renowned clan, which from what I understand is well disciplined. Shinji Aburame, our teacher's son. You already know about him and his skill with insects and strategy. Then there's Himawari Uzumaki, whom I'm unfamiliar with. All I know is that she was good enough to be graduated a year early, and assigned on a B rank mission at such a young age by her own father. Either she's insanely talented, her the Hokage is insanely daring."

You look at Ai, rather surprised. She's pretty much given you the complete rundown on the situation from an intial observation. "How the hell do you know all of this stuff?" You inquire. Ai looks at you, and answers the question without a hint of doubt in her voice, as if the answer were obvious. "I studied the genealogy books at the village library. I know about everyone's families."

Ai seems to think for a moment before responding. "Not particularly. Most other information would be concealed in either village records, medical records, or personal documents."

She seems surprisingly young for a Jounin. "Hi there! I don't believe we've met before. You're Takeshi, right? Kayo was telling me about the experience that you two had with this criminal. Sounds harsh."

You look down. "Can't he hear us? We're right on top of him. I'd imagine that he'd be making way more noise." Mirai chuckles, and shakes her head. "No, he's not with us right now. He has a Genjutsu placed on him to trap him in an illusion, so he won't be making any noise until he's back inside his own country."

She scratches her nose, and shakes her head, looking off to the side. "Crazy bastard. He's like a miniature version of his dad, although people don't really know it. They haven't seen him when he's going all out, or on a drunken bender. God forbid both. What he lacks in discipline or skill he makes up for by being a Taijutsu master."

Sounds like what you've seen so far as well. "Do you know any more about this Cult, then?"

Mirai shakes her head. "It was..before my time. Apparently one of those cultists killed my father just before I was born, so I have a bit of a personal attachment to this mission. I'm glad I came."

You nod, solemnly. Apparently this cult is dangerous enough to have killed a Jounin. "What's the Land of Lightning like? I've never left the Land of Fire."

She smiles. "I have no idea! This is completely new to me as well! I bet it'll be fun."

She pulls out a cigarette, and lights it. Down and to the right, you can hear Kichiro yell. "Heeyyy, Miraai, you wanna give me one of those?"

The Jounin shakes her head down at him. "How old are you anyways, kid?"

Himawari pipes up, her voice clearly younger than everyone elses. "Sensei, when are we going to have a bathroom break?"

Kayo speaks up too. "That's not a bad idea. Akahiro has to go as well, and I think everyone would benefit from a short rest before we meet up with the Cloud."

Mirai seems to look around for a moment, thinking. She turns to Hanto, who is walking next to Kichiro. "What do you think there, Hanto? Got time for a bathroom break?"

The Jounin nods, tilting up his flask again before speaking again. "Sounds like a plan to me. I need to empty the tank anyways.."

The carriage stops, and everyone takes turns going to the restroom. After a few minutes, though, Ai calls out to the group. "Everyone, look up the road. There's a group of people coming."

Everyone moves to the front of the Carriage, and the two drivers look worried. Mirai whispers to Himawari. "Get a look at them before they get any closer, quickly!"

The young girl's eyes become sharply vascular, as she yells out. "Byakugan!" Himawari stares at the group for several moments, before looking back up to her sensei, clearly distressed. "They're wearing Jashin symbols. They've come for him." Hanto whips his head over to her direction, and grits his teeth. "What!? How could they know, the date and timing of this mission, it was supposed to be secret..Are there more cultists in the village that we don't know about!?"

Mirai steps forward. "It doesn't matter right now! Everyone in position! Hanto, I'll take the top of the Carriage and watch the back. Genin, back to the sides! Hanto, deal with them if you can!"

Your sensei smiles, walking towards the group. "Of course." He brings his second flask up to his lip, burping as he sips from it.

You try to watch your flank, but you can't help but watch your sensei move towards the group. Considering the last display of power you saw from him, your entire squad's interest is piqued.

Then Hanto stumbles, and falls on his rear. Ai blinks, squinting and looking at him. "Is he..drunk?"

Kichiro grabs his head. "That idiot's gonna get killed! Why is he wasted at a time like this?"

Mirai chuckles. "Calm down, kids. He's fine."

The group seems to stab at your sensei with a spear, and in an instant, he's off the ground.

A whirlwind of kicks breaks out from the man as he spins on his back like a breakdancer. The men and women of the cult are all knocked backwards by whips of blue flame, and your sensei jumps back up to his feet and starts to flow through each opponent like water. You can see the flashes of chakra from here, and you start to understand that he's increasing the range and power of his blows with Ninjutsu. That combined with being drunk is making for quite a lightshow.

Then, you hear one of the cultists yell. "It's too much! Everyone, attack! Save our brother!"

You turn towards the forest, and see a grown man wielding an ax rushing towards you. All around you is yelling, apparently an ambush had been waiting along this road. You don't know how many enemies there are. What do you do?
