Ladydemon Mage Quest!
Part 1

Your name is Bacardi, you're a ladydemon, and also a Mage. You can cast magic and shit. You also have a legion of voices in your head occasionally telling you what to do.

They annoy you, but luckily, they can't seem to be say any word more than once, or atleast, you have decided never to take any orders if they use a word that has been in an order before. Because of this, the voices tend to keep their orders short and concise, since they already used words like "you, I, there, that" and etc.

You're at a tavern, just hanging out; the voices brought you to a haunted forest earlier and now you're just chilling after almost dying, as usual. This isn't a familiar town, it's your first time here. You've been travelling awhile, tending to the voices' commands.

For now, the voices have given you a break of about 2 hours, which is longer than usual, it's any time now where they'd start again.

You don't really have much to do.

"What's with the money, and you getting drunk, or whatever", you ask.

"WELLLL THENNN, how may I serve you, fine human lady maam?"

You think for awhile, then the voices come to you;

"How are you drinking, are you keeping your helmet on?"

"I just tilt my head back and pour it into the slits I DID! I must wear my armour which brought me protections for today's victory!"

"Uh, it's a truly auspicious moment inDEED, yes? We should both drink to our heart's content tonight, yes? Who knows, I may reward you Sir Vampire Murderer"

"OF COURSE MY LADY, ANYTHING FOR A FELLOW HUMAN!"

{{I'd probably take as many voices that isn't too dumb, but if you guys have a roll and there's a conflicting voice, the higher roll wins}}

"So, would you die if you took the helmet off?" You ask.

"It would be extremely annoying maam, please do not attempt that."

You internally cringe at the exchange, you don't know why, but you just did. You change the topic;

"So uh, that hive of vampires, where'd you find it?"

"AH, HAHA! Found the beasts at the east canyon, a cave along a river in the canyon. But wiped them I did! Writhing in pain they were as I left them to die!"

You kinda raise an eyebrow on that, but you don't let it bother you. Suddenly, you notice a figure at the window, it's a surprise you never noticed it yet.

You see a girl, she has cat ears, like a fucking weeaboo. As you meet her eyes she is visibly startled and hides somewhere, you don't know where.

"You know the catgirl?"

"Hmm? No? A demihuman? Is it in need of mortal release?"

"Uh, nevermind, anyways what... or WHO, are you gonna do now Mr. Hero?"

"...Hm? Who? Oh, MAAM! I WOULD NEVE- OUT OF WEDLOCK? OH- I, NO MAAM, I AM MARRIED TO MY BROTHER IN ARMS, MY LOVER, THE CHIEF KNIGHT!"

An image surfaces in your head and you're not really sure how to react, but you do choke on this sudden revelation, and impulsively walk to the window.

You walk outside and meet with the nervous catgirl

"What're you snooping about for?"

"Ah!"
She's nervous and flinchy. She looks more shy than anything though.

"Spit it out, you pussy!"
You spout the first shitty insult you could think of to assert dominance, initially so you can dominate and woo her, but you digress and decide to have purer thoughts than that.

"AH! YES! Uhh, well. saw you. In forest. Very good. Nice magic. Ah..."

She trails off, but you assert your alpha status once again, on a catgirl

"STOP PUSSYFOOTING AROUND YOU!"

You once again, internally cringe at your choice of words, even as to use pussy twice in succession

"P-Party! Bandit take! Precious artifact! Family goods! I shoot! But far... And scary."
>>
>>42519639
Generalist, anything that comes to mind, but at varying degrees of success, depending on your roll
>>
>>42519640
We clearly need to work on our vocabulary.
Bring her into the bar (we can easily trick the knight if he gets stupid ideas), get some drinks, and hash out a plan. Loot is good. Loot is great!

>>42519640
"Well, sure, but what's in it for me?"

>>
>>42519752
Well, i don't know enough about demons in this setting to know how they usually do it so i guess what a normal demon thing would be. Kind of like a contract that now we own your soul or something.

Yes, perhaps that would work, though I'd leave the door open for negotiation at least. Lest we find her fleeing and our chance lost.

"Hmm.... how far? 'You adventure before? What do I get? Aren't you afraid I'm a demon, and that I'd take your artifact?"

"East canyon! Not far. Never adventure... Parents ban! But need! Now need! Artifact! Ehh.... loot? Not racist! You take! Only artifact! Give me!"

"Hmm..." you ponder. You consider taking her soul, but really, you do NOT want another voice in your head, even if it's cute.

You consider the knight to follow, since he's familiar with the place and just went there. But you don't know if he'll sober up and smite you.
>>
>>42519819
Well, if you're not happy with the loot, you can always take her body. I say roll with it.
>>
>>42519819
Tell her we'll do it for open season on the loot, sans artifact.
As for mr. knight, he might normally be helpful, but racist and drunk as he is...might as well risk it without him, we're a mighty mage after all!
>>
Rolled 99 (1d100)

>>42519819
Check through the window, if the knight looks like he can be trusted to walk and not bust your cover I guess he ca-oh who am I kidding. Do we have a spell for sobering him up?
>>
>>42519819
Go with seeing what you can get later on, if she doesn't have anything worth enough later you can take her soul or anything (that makes you more powerful, right).
As for the knight, it's probably not worth the risk...
>>
>>42519875
>Trusted to not bust our cover.
>"But you don't know if he'll sober up and smite you."
Yeah, sober him up why don't you.
>>
Rolled 59 (1d100)

Also, let's ask her what the big deal about this artifact is as well. Always good to be prepared!

that is an extremely severe limitation that will only grow worse over time. considering its been 2 years by now vast swaths of words should be completely unusable making the vast majority of orders impossible.
>>
>>42519895
>implying we can't fool a boisterous knight
Just tell him it's a costume, I'm sure he'd buy it. Or just use magic to disguise ourselves I guess. Magic solves everything!
Not that I'm desperate to bring him.

>>42519915
Since I don't think a single anon has cared to follow those directions so far I believe, OP may not be fussed about them.

Leave the knight, he'd probably kill us.
Off to adventure, give her some dos and don'ts on the way. Do: admire your amazing magic and style, follow orders, stay quiet when needed. Don't: alert enemies, betray you at critical moments, insult horns.

"Wow you're loud, fine."

You cast [DESTROY BOOZEFUN], a wisp of nofun flies towards the knight

It hits the knight and he turns to look at you for a moment.
"?"

It only takes a moment... but....
"DEMON!"
The knight bursts into rage, tossing the planted table off and runs at you. You decide it's probably time to split.

"Okay, loot, you're now my pet and I can forever pat your head, sounds good?"
"P-Pet? Ah we-"
"Good."

You run off and duck into an alley, you see the knight run past you and towards the haunted forest. You see him leave the town running.

"Wow. Okay. Yes, pet. I'll get you a collar later." you say without looking, you then pull her towards the East Canyon.

"Hmm... so what's so important about this artifact? Is it some sort of ma-"

"Yes! Magic item! Ancestor treasure. Very rare. Soul Install. Some say, can control! Enemy puppet! But rare. Not sure how."

You have a feeling this might have some use with your stupid voices in your head. Very useful.

"Ah"

You suddenly stop as you realise you've left the town. You move forward, but your cat stops you,

"Ah no, this way."

It's the opposite of the way labeled "SAFE".

"Um, are you sure c- uh"

"I've been waiting for this!"
You flip the sombrero off the cactus, and as it rotates above your head, in a perfect arc to fit right on you, you cast it,

[MAXIMIZE SOMBRERO]

Truly one of your most valued spells, the sombrero enlarges and covers you both, but you're slightly shorter than your pet so you had to tilt abit.

"Much better! Now then, should I make it rain too?"

You both walk the desert plains, slowly approaching the location.

"It's gonna be a long walk isn't it"
"Yes master. Long walk."
"Ugh."

You both make your way, waiting to find the bandits. The voices seem to be letting you do your own thing for awhile, so they'll probably be back later.

Without a twitter there's always a risk of a new thread going nowhere because players didn't notice it was up or something. It's nice to have forewarning of when a new thread comes around. You can always just risk it and go without if you can't be bothered though.

You reach the camp, enjoying the voices leaving you alone for a good amount of time. What a shame they didn't get to see you do a bunch of wacky spells, due to whatever reason they had.

"Master here. Camp there. Only one visible. One man. One horse. Others gone?"

Your pet Fluffy informs you of the current happenings.

"Fluffy, sneak around to it's right, I'll be on it's left."

Fluffy gets close to the 5 meter high ridge, waits for an opportunity, and jumps off, landing and immediately hiding. A few sneaky moves later, she's at her designated location.

"Oh man"
You peek over the cliff, and it's abit too high for you to land without hurting yourself.

"[TELEPORT TO TENT]"
You teleport into the tent on it's left. and you peek out. You see a girl in a pinafore, she holds an umbrella in her hand, and is wearing a sombrero.

The high roll system for influencing the MC is just as bad as using the last two post numbers, OP. We may be on /tg/, but generally trolls can fuck up the posting if they manage to roll a one hundred.

If we're doing the whole voices thing, honestly, I'd rather the MC just do what's sensible than us just rolling and hoping we get our choice picked. What I mean by that is, the voices should be a guide rather than controlling Bacardi's mind directly with high rolls.
>>
>>42535894
We got ourselves a regular marine here.
Doesn't look much like one, but looks can deceive so.
>>
>>42535970
I actually don't let the highest roll determine the entire outcome, I try to include as many as possible with it remaining within 1000 characters in a post
High rolls do have a greater influence, but if it's a dumb post, then I will ignore it
I already mentioned this before
>>
>>42535970
For many the random aspect and potential for things to go weird or wrong based on dice (as long as the vote isn't pure troll like 'kill self' or the like) is the whole appeal, separate from normal questing. I'd say it's reasonable to assume OP might have that perspective if they're running it like this.

Many voices ring in your head, and the idea of going invisible while reflecting light is probably the most misinformed voice in there.

"Fluffy, stay in the tent, ambush when you feel is right, I'll be hiding too, Greygoose, how about you?"

"I will hide for an ambush in hopes of eavesdropping on information."

You both nod and head into your own separate tents. You peek out and see about 6 bandits coming in on horses. You slouch back but suddenly feel something on the ground.

Also, remember, Fluffy gets the artifact anons! Of course, there isn't much else to loot here, so she'll have to be our loot anyway, making it ours by proxy. But still!

"Goose, go check if they're down."

She nods and exits the tent, and you cast [SONAR].

Yep, all 5 are there.

Greygoose approaches them, and sees a writhing pile of naked men unmoving, but the chief seems to have a really weird and disgusting expression.

"Yeah, they're down."

Fluffy nooooo don't betray us, your smile is too cute for a villain!

Actually unless she and Greygoose is working for the same client, they're gonna butt heads anyway huh. So much for our loyal servants...

You gather after leaving the bandits alone and casting [BONDAGE TIE] on them. They're left to enjoy that elsewhere.

"Judging by the voices, this seems to be the artifact."

You notice the air has changed.

"Mission done. Give me. Yes master?"

"This artifact was my objective. An unusually prioritized objective given to me. It is not for the likes of civilian to handle."

The stares don't let down.

"Master loot. Me, artifact. Ancestral. Not for others. My bloodline."

"A powerful weapon, powerful enough to have sent a top tier unit such as me to retrieve it. This is not for someone whom I know nothing about to hold on to."

You stand in the third point of a triangle, looking at both of them. You still have the artifact with you.
>>
Rolled 17 (1d100)

>>42537433
Just shoot them with it, that way we can properly mediate.

Nothing could go wrong. Nothing.
>>
Rolled 18 (1d100)

>>42537433
Shoot Greygoose, we'll influence her to leave it be. Fluffy contracted us first, naturally we'll give it to her since it's part of the bloodline.

Rolled 90 (1d100)

What's their stake in it? 'Randomly heard about artifact' isn't very convincing after all, either of them the rightful owner? Who's Greygoose working for anyway?

Rolled 5 (1d100)

>>42537433
First, cast [COMFY ATMOSPHERE] so they calm down. Then, throw your arms across their shoulders, hand Fluffy the artifact, and tell Greygoose that she doesn't have to use force - as long as she's around us, she knows where the artifact is, right? Ask about who her employer or whatever is, and if we can pay her off to cancel her mission or whatever.
>>
Rolled 52 (1d100)

>>42537433
Settle it like civilised people, see who can drink the others under the table. Why yes, OF COURSE we're participating.
>>
>>42537433
Simple solution innit. Fluffy has a right to the artifact (and we a right to her but that's another matter) so she gets it. And Greygoose can hang around and get to know her! This way we also keep the meido.
>>
Rolled 79 (1d100)

I have not heard enough of either of your sides to make an informed and impartial decision on this. However, I can see that this is far too important a decision to leave up to chance or compromise from a third-person mediator.

Therefore, the two of you will compete with each other to see who has the right to keep the artifact in a contest of naked mud wrestling.

You consider the voices' input, but you realise you have no way to make sure they're telling the truth. Not through normal means. And the other solutions ARE tempting. This is a hard choice to make. Plus, the artifact doesn't seem to do anything to your knowledge, and social spells might tailor their responses to what you want, not the truth.

"What are you going to do with the artifact?"

They both think about it, and a complicated expression rises.

"Keepsake. Family treasure. My right."

"To keep, as it is stated in my mission. Never to let anyone irresponsible get hold of it."

You sigh.

If the artifact is as important and potentially dangerous as they say, you can't give it to anyone since you have literally just met them. You have no way to prove their truth, and they don't seem to be doing so aside from claiming it.

"I will hold on to this. Neither of you will have it. I will not desecrate or use it irresponsibly, and you have no choice but to take my word for it. I am above both you in terms of rank, a master to a pet and a maid. If you cannot fulfill this simple contract of trust you put on yourselves, you don't deserve the weapon."

A silence aside from the breeze and the sound of sand fills the field.

"Hell I'm inclined to marry both of you right now, but I don't think either of you would want that."

They both don't seem to object.
What do you do?

The tense air was obvious, they were gonna pounce, on you, then on each other.

You didn't have [COMFY ATMOSPHERE], but you had [CTFO]

Their expressions changed almost immediately, and their tense bodies relaxed.

"Just prove your cases and we'll be fine, why is me holding on to it bad? I'm taking care of it's uses, and no one better to hold your treasure than your master right? This isn't permanent, just until I can make sure who deserves it."

They didn't seem to mind it at all, and nodded at the logic. You immediately pat them.

"Good good. This is the road to understanding. I doubt no one but me can use it anyways." You knew this because of the voices.

[PAIL OF ALE]

A large tankard of ale was conjured, and you hand it to them. Then you begin walking back to the town, both of them silently walking with you, drinking their ale.

You were walking, happy at the resolution. Holding the tankard of ale, which they had taken turns drinking from, you felt it was the right thing to do.
You threw you arms around their shoulders, and intended to sing some cheerful songs, but then you noticed your sombrero on the way.

"Ah, my sombrer-"

It was quick, she rolled your arm over her and took a step back, and you felt a hot stinging sensation in your gut as you were thrown back.

"Master, y-!!"

A few loud bangs were heard, and you see your maid dodging.

"You're a damn complicated puppet to play with, Bacardi. If only you had just did without thinking." Your pet muttered, surprisingly fluid.

"You!"

The maid rushes her, but the catgirl dodges back, and turns invisible.

You feel everything fading, and you're not sure, what comes, after... this...

Most QMs post one thread-warning on twitter beforehand when they know, some only 20 - 30 mins before, others a whole day. Depends on how regular their schedule is mostly. Then they link the thread when they start too.
