You approach the gate to the town with your time sister and you mermaid friend. For some reason the guards, there are two of them on the little ledge today, look really nervous when they see you. You take a moment to check yourself and realize you're covered in red fish gore. That's easily solved with a quick detour to the ocean to scrub off with water and sand. Nytora notices the problem as well and joins you. Then the two of you strongarm the mermaid into a quick wash. She was cleaner than either of you anyway so it didn't take long.

The guards still seem nervous. You have no idea what their problem is but they still greet you politely enough.

"Nice day," they nod at you.

You nod back.

"Uh, have a run in with something?" they ask. You notice a worried edge to their voices.

"Just breakfast," you shrug.

"Uh, I don't suppose that someone took a swing at you..."

"No?" you reply, confused.

They relax and now you just think they're messing with you. Still they get you through the gate and into the town proper. People are already up and moving and you're drawing your share of odd looks as usual. Maybe more than your share. Is there something wrong with Milly?

That's a funny way of spelling skirt. Surely no one would intentionally shackle a friend with the tyranny of pants. What a cruel, malevolent prank that would be.

Yesterday you spent a lot of your time saving Milly from kidnappers. Fishnappers? Either way you spent all day making sure Milly wasn't stuck somewhere that would make her Mom destroy the town trying to find her daughter. You'd really rather avoid having that threat recur because of some human custom about clothes.

"You need pants," you tell Milly, "I think?" Okay you're not terribly sure.

"Or the floofy thing," Nytora agrees.

"Floofy thing?" you ask.

Nytora points at a passing human female wearing a thing that is not pants. More like a piece of cloth just wrapped around their waist. You remember seeing lots of humans wear similar things of various lengths.

"Isn't that what poor humans wear?" you ask, "It's so simple I assumed they were just very cheap."

Nytora and Milly exchange a look and shrug. Ah, well you'll just have to find a place that sells clothes. That's not hard, you passed a shop with creepy headless doll things out front that wore clothes several times in the past couple days. That either makes it a shop that sells clothes or a shop that sells creepy doll things. You have no problem stripping the creepy dolls and burning them, then giving the clothes to Milly.

You head for the shop, being sure to keep Milly between you and Nytora. If at all possible you'd rather keep Milly securely in the "not kidnapped" category. If the mermaid in question has any problem with this arrangement she certainly isn't showing it. As you walk she eagerly takes in everything occasionally asking weird questions, for some of which you don't have answers.

"Why are there statues of the one handed man everywhere?"

"The humans really like statues," you tell her. Just because you don't know doesn't mean you have to appear ignorant. It's not like she knows anyone else to show you up.

"Also they come to life and enforce laws," Nytora adds. Treacherous evil twin! Good information though.

In short order, and only once getting lost, you find the clothing shop. The creepy dolls are already out on the street. Fortunately some of them have hats to cover their creepy neck stumps. No actually that just makes it worse. You hurry your friends inside, trying to keep an eye on the limbless dolls at all times. The smell in here reminds you of the time you fought those giant blood sucking moths with Nytora.

You look at Nytora and her glare seems to indicate she also remembers the time you used her as a weapon to fight moths.

Inside the biggest human woman you've ever seen greets you enthusiastically.

"Bonjour, my lovelies. What can Madam interest you in today," she asks boisterously. The noise she made at the beginning of her greeting was weird but you just pretend you understood her nonsense noises. Seriously she's huge. Even bigger than the guildmarm, though with less scars so you know she's good at fighting. You have to assume the frilly bright-colored clothes are some kind of warning coloration. You can't see any reason she'd wear it otherwise when servicable browns and greys are available.

Looking around there are a LOT of clothes in this shop. Some displayed on, ugh, more dolls, and others carefully draped over a wooden hangy thing that let's you see them. Stacks of them are piled away on tables and behind the counter on shelves. You've got absolutely no idea how clothes work.

"We need clothes for our friend. Uh, none of use know much about clothes," you tell the shopkeeper. THen you almost dive to cover when the woman flies across the room in a whirlwind of cloth and terrified moths. In an instant Milly is swept up and disappears into a tiny box room, an armful of clothes thrust at her.

"The way, s'il vous plait," the woman says as she forces the mermaid into the closet sized space, handing her clothes. Such a pity that such a big fighter has taken sufficient head injuries to damage her speech. Very sad.

You leave Milly to the tender mercies of the woman. Nytora is engaged in the time honored lizard hobby that isn't rock stacking, and you want a piece of that. Poking your nose in things that were clearly intended to rouse lizard curiosity may not be a thing auntie taught you but you're fairly certain it's a lizard thing.

Rummaging through the piles of cloth, trying not to upset them you find something familiar. A weird yellow cloth that seems to leap out from your iguana memories. You remember a tiny fire haired doll the elves put on display next to your terrarium wore something like this. Then you tried to eat it and they moved it further away from where you could reach. Then the cat knocked it down and the dog tried to eat it, and it was taken back to the elves' room. You examine the size of the yellow clothing and figure it'll at least not fall off Milly. You set about digging through a bin full of shoes to find some bright red ones.

Behind you the shopkeeper appears to have figured out on her own that Milly is a poisonous mermaid without you're having to tell her anything. You can see no other reason why she'd keep reaching for the brightly colored clothes to give to her. You send Nytora on a mission to find the appropriate hat and resume shoe hunting.
[1/3]
>>
>>42540621

After digging around a fair bit you find the second red shoe, the first haveing been near the top of the bin and the second near the bottom. Nytora found an appropriate flouncy yellow hat that matches the thing you found. You bundle them up and carry them within striking distance of the shopkeeper who snatches them up with a pleased noise.

"And you said you knew nothing of clothing, mes amies. Such a wonderful choice," she says, pushing the clothes into the closet with an alarmed sounding Milly.

You leave them to it. You and Nytora resume your search and you're soon clinging to the wall of the shop looking at the line of disembodied doll heads all wearing headwear on the uppermost shelves. Are all clothing shops this creepy? You hope not, though it's not like you'll ever visit them for yourself. Lizards wearing clothes lie only down the path of madness. Hats and ceremonial wear excepted. Also equipment harnesses. A couple exceptions that in no way invalidate the rule. You poke through the hats and finally find IT.

It's a hat, but one no less majestic than the one you gave your mom. It has that same cylindrical shape with the little brim, but this one has all kinds of lace and frilly things leaking out from under the brim. There're little chains going around it and ignoring the spider web shaped emblem and spider, you can take those off and find lizard substitutes, the little flower and band around it remind you of the hat the priest guy "lost" and you gave to mom. If you wrap you raven skull ornament around the base this would be a perfect hat. You glance around the room as you pick up the hat and hold it to you greedily.

"Oh, I like that," Nytora says from behind you. You seize and twitch, falling off the upper shelves to the floor below. Your new hat delicately clutched to your chest. Above Nytora looks down at you. "It reminds me of the hat I gave auntie. Is there another of those?"

The sound of a question attracts the shop lady who abandons Milly to dress herself to turn the hurricane of clothing in your direction.

Ten minutes later you're outside the shop, with a hat in the hands of both you and Nytora, decorations made more lizardy and adorned with your crow ornament, Nytora's has a different bird skull but a similar ornament on hers. Milly is wearing a leg tube with a brightly colored scarf around her waist and a nicely shirt and vest thing. SHe seems red and cowed after her experience. You decide to do her a kindness and carry the bag with her other clothes in it, including the ones you picked out you noticed with pleasure. After asking the lady, apparently she calls herself "madam", you found out that since this is a coastal town most of the simple clothes plan to spend
time being wet.

>"Don't forgets the candied fruit!" Auntie calls, momentarily distracted from her conversation with Nytora. The clone doesn't seem to mind though. Her eyes lit up at mention of the fruit. You get the feeling you missed something awesome at some point and no one told you.

>"I'm not goings to forget the fruit," Mom calls back with as much volume as she can manage without deafening everyone in the room, she turns back to you, "Also candied fruit."

So poisonous shit and candied fruit are the two biggies. Presumably some supplies for Min, some of the more exotic herbs/potions for Koma, a straight jacket for Din, and probably a fancy stick for our dad.

Some tools and maybe something to write with for tinkerer sis

candy fruit for everyone

We can probably just pull a page from our "finding mom" adventure and just find a raft or something to carry it all back on. You put on your hat, and look at your friends. Then you straighten Nytora's hat while she twists yours slightly. At this point you have nothing to do. You definitely want to get your sword fixed so you can actually USE it, but that may cost a lot, it's probably best you go buy the stuff you're supposed to take to other people first.

After a sit down with Nytora, mostly to let Milly recover from her ordeal, you bang out some ideas to grab for siblings and the like that aren't on the list Mom gave you. But Mom's list was two things and a couple other things that are probably just annoying to find. The list gets a bit long and you start to wonder how long all this shopping will take. You kind of wanted Milly to join you for some pirate murder today, too.

Ah, well.

Responsibilities. You'll avoid them in the future

"Yo."

Halfway to Leviathan, Nytora stops the group. You blink at her.

"I'm not getting anything so I want to go do something else," she says. "Can I borrow your elemental stones?"

"Uh, why?" you ask.

"I want to try them in my sword. If they do cool stuff I might ask the wizards about getting some of my own," she explains. "I'll just be at the adventurer's guild testing stuff when you get done shopping."

Huh. That's actually a good idea.

Leviathan is the best place you can think of to get everything on your list. If they don't have it they'll at least be able to point you in the right direction. You head directly to the main office and the woman there apparently recognizes you and says she'll get a representative. You're surprised when a few minutes later Mr. Chambers appears. Apparently he's been designated the go to for lizards.

You quickly run down the list of stuff you want with him. He suggests you hit up the local wizards for a magic stick for your dad and brother. You plan to hand that particular chore off to Nytora at the first opportunity. She seems to like Jho well enough.

You order a bunch of herbs that aren't local for Koma as well as some of the imported coffee. The coffee isn't for you... not at all. Maybe a little.

When you ask about tools, you find a bit of a wall as most of what's available is stuff she has, could get easily, or just really aren't applicable to what Min needs. You knock ideas back and forth with Chambers and Milly and he finally digs up a couple options. A book on carpentry and architecture, a spring that some dwarves sold as an oddity, and a cask full of glue. You're not sure if any of thosee are useful, Min doesn't even speak the language the book is in, but you're sure she'll find a use for the glue. Even if it's just to attach a sleeping patriarch to something like mom did that one time.

You aren't actually positive what your brothers have been up to. Well, you know what Din has been up to but that doesn't make buying things for him easy. You consider getting him armor so he stops hurting himself, or just rop so you can tie him up so he doesn't hurt himself. Neither are likely to work. One because he's not here to be fitted, and the other because he'd probably whine. Loudly. At length. Instead you get Chambers to direct you to that alchemist in the area and you grab some healing potions on the way there. You'll split those between you, Din, and Shun later.
>>
>>42542029
When you finally get to a smith you can get some metal ingots for Shun too. You think you heard he was hanging out with the smithing lizards. If he can't use them then he can at least trade for something he does want. Metal has value everywhere.

You pick up the extra stuff Mom ordered and when you ask Mr. Chambers manages to produce a bottle of poison from some desert creature far to the south. It apparently makes a medicine of some kind when properly reduced but isn't in high demand. To hear Mr. Chambers tell it the town does more exporting from local mines and just stuff the adventurers haul in. Imports aren't common since most ships passing through are there to either pick up cargo or get some supplies or repairs. The presence of some city to the south as a major shipping point apparently hurts the local branch's trade a bit.

When you place the order for candied fruit you run into a bit of an issue. He admits to having some in the wareouse ready to ship out but only in very large barrels to be broken down into smaller lots at their destination. The fruit is courtesy of an orchard that operates East of the town. He's beginning to explain the extra cost of breaking down the barrels here but you just interrupt him to order an amount that should keep mom in candied fruit for a couple weeks. If she doesn't eat them like candy. Actually after Milly adds a joke about candied fruit being candy you double the order again. Mr. Chambers is happy to add the barrels to your order but brings up another problem.

You have no way of moving a large amount of cargo easily. He suggests you buy a boat or wagon to help. A purchase he's happy to help facilitate. In the meantime he offers to set aside your order for when you're ready to pick it up.

It occurs to you as you're sitting there that the absence of your time sister allows you an opportunity to get her a present too. You know she's been somewhat down lately what with her... everything. This'll be nice.

You inquire about a dagger that magically returns to you after use, but Chambers admits he's never seen something like that. Though the guild does get a decent amount of weapons in to try and sell to adventurer's they mostly leave that kind of thing to the local smiths. The best he's able to offer after hearing your ideas is a bandolier of throwing knives which DO have an auto-return enchantment on them, but lack the size and heft to act as proper daggers.

You buy the knives for Nytora and get them now. The rest of the stuff, you're told, will be piled up and set aside for when you've prepared transport. Your wallet is darn near empty now. Though you can easily withdraw more money on your next visit, though that requires you wait til your next visit.

Exitting the trade guild and heading for the alchemist's shop you chat with Milly. You try to get an idea if she's got something she wants to see but apparently she's happy with just wandering like this.

"Everything up here is different from in the ocean. I'm satisfied to just look around," she tells you.

"But trading is borings," you say.

"We don't do that below," she informs you, "If you need something most of it is right there to grab, if it isn't then we just swap things with your people."

You don't really have much you can say to that so you let her enjoy the sights.

"You know, if you need a boat, I know where you can find a couple," Milly suddenly speaks up.

You make an inquisitive noise and she elaborates.

"Not all the boats Mom sinks are horribly damaged. Some of the small ones just filled with water and sank. We could probably dig one out and put it up on the beach if we tried."

Huh. Might be more effort than raft building, but you won't turn down extra options.

You do quick trades at the alchemist stand, which is a wheeled cart full of clinking glass bottles of various colors. The man running it has a glazed look in his eye and it takes him a minute to figure out which potions are which when he picks them out. You ask about a tail growing potion, but he says he only has pig tail growing potions. Apparently local fishwives have odd ideas about how to punish their husbands.

[2/2]

When you finally get to the adventurer's guild, which Milly claims she doesn't remember from yesterday, you hear cheering from the backyard. You know there's a small training area back there with targets, but the cramped nature of the town restricts its size.

The buildings in town are built in long lines east to west with only narrow alleys to pass between lines of buildings. Major roads run between every other break in the buildings, allowing personal yards between streets. There are a few major north-south roads that allow access but they tend to be winding to keep the wind coming in from the sea from blowing up them. Or at least that's what the adventurers told you the other night.

Heading around back you find a group of adventurers standing in a semi-circle behind Nytora. The lizard herself is whipping her sword at a distant target, a line of fire trailing out from the tip of her sword to wreathe the intervening space in flame. Every couple swipes she does a flourish that sends streamers of flame streaking into the sky, much to the enjoyment of onlookers.

Sometimes you wish you had a sword like hers.

"Hey," you call.

Nytora looks, and waves with her sword. Adventurers dive away as a wave of flame leaks out in their direction from the motion. Sweeping the sword back into her scabbard the flames all die down and Nytora walks over to you.

"Learn anything cool?" you ask.

She nods, detaching your fire stone from your sword and handing it over with the others.

"Water pierces, earth cuts, wind bludgeons, and fire burns things. All of them are ranged attacks. I can't use them close up like your dagger," she says be way of explanation.

You consider that. "How does earth cut?"

She holds out a hand and you drop the earth shovel into it. She sets it into her sword and draws. You notice the blade has turned into a crystalline material, like your dagger did but cleaner with no little offshoots. She swings her sword at a distant target, which looks like it's seen the result of most of her experiments and been repaired several times. As her blade swings a circle of white spinning crystal spins off of the blade and smashes into and through the straw target dummy. Behind it the crystal form smashes into the ground revealing a disc of crystal with a toothed edge. You clap politely and Nytora grins.

"Also this," she says, touching the sword point to the dirt. "If you start inside the element the effect is a little different."

She flicks her blade upward in a vertical slice and a half circle of whirling crystal, as tall as you, spins out toward the target. The dummy doesn't survive this attack and the crystal barely stops short of the next line of buildings. It leaves behind a massive circular crystal like the first one but larger and half imbedded in the ground.

Nytora slides her sword home in her scabbard and the crystals shatter and disappear. She returns your earth stone.

"I found out where a smith is too," she says.

"You don't speak the language."

"I am very good at miming things," she replies, smiling cheekily. She appears to be in a good mood after her experimentation.

The adventurers start wandering off, the show apparently over, and you contemplate the stones in your hand. You do fairly well with just the knife in fire mode, if you need it at all. There's never really been a need to test what it does.

Your knife can wait a bit longer til you have something a bit longer to use alongside it. Oh hey time for you to go to take care of that. You feel a bit giddy as you finally get around to this particular errand. Nytora takes point to lead you, and you're not sure how her ability to mime lets her understand directions given but you don't really care. You're finally getting your frigging sword.

The smith you find is tucked away in between buildings, the forge is at least. That would explain why you never saw it going through town. The owner's wares are scattered around in bins and barrels leading into the shop proper, with a few particularly nice looking tools hanging on the walls. You spot a suit of armor in the corner but most of the stuff in here looks like sailing stuff. The biggest exception though is the line of boxes just inside the overhand the forge sits under that contain nothing but swords. All sorts of swords. You spare the collection a quick glance before directing your attention to the sweaty owner.

The human that runs the shop is surprisingly young. Not fresh out of his youth but for some reason you were expecting someone a bit grizzled at least. He's fairly clean cut, though he's filthy from his work. You could smell him from the alley leading back here. He sees you coming and gives you a wave as he keeps hammering something into shape. It's not a tool you've seen so you're going to assume it's something for a boat.

After a few more strikes he drops the hot metal into a water bath, and leaves it to quench. He greets you politely.

"Good afternoon."

You nod. "Hello. I needs a sword modified."

He smiles.

"Well, swords are something I think I'm a fair hand at. I can probably help you."

You produce the sword you stole from the skeleton hole it feels like ages ago. It shines as brightly as it did when you found it, despite your failure to maintain it in any way. You hand it over as you explain.
[1/2?]
>>
>>42544421

"My hand is shaped wrong for this. I needs it fixed," you tell him.

He nods and inspects the sword. After a long minute he turns it over and looks closer at it. He gives it a test swing that ends in the same water bath he quenched the thing in.

"Hm," he hums to himself his expression changing to one of disbelief. He looks pained looking at the sword then at you.

"I, uh, don't think I can modify this sword," he says apologetic, "It just wouldn't be right."

You give him your best confused look. "Why?"

"This," he says tapping the blade, "Is a genuine Jen Yuin Original."

You stare at him blankly. He appears upset you don't know what he's talking about but begins explaining.

"Jen Yuin was a swordsmith. Made loads of weapons a hundred years ago or so. Her stuff is ridiculously hard to find now. Most of the stuff she made were just fodder to fuel the creation of real works of art like this one. Swords she made on a case by case basis for people she met."

"Okay..." you say slowly waiting for him to explain.

"This sword is a piece of history. To make it fit your hand I'd have to do some serious damage to it. If you want I'll trade you any two or three swords I've got here for it."

"It sounds valuable," you say aloud.
[2/3]
>>
>>42544458
[3/3]
He nods seriously. "From what I can tell this one's pretty basic but it's got enchants to keep it neat, and it works under water. Kind of like rivermetal, but with magic. Where'd you find it?"

"Tooks it off a pirate skeleton," you explain.

He nods.

"Yeah, that'd explain the water enchantment. I'm afraid I can't magic up a sword yet, and I don't actually have any rivermetal blades right now so I can't give you something the exact same, but I'll trade whatever you want for it."

>MAKE him modify it.
>Ask if he knows anyone who WOULD modify it.
>Keep it, you know some pirates nearby who probably own non-historical swords
>Keep it, just buy a sword

You sigh and turn to Milly.

"You wants a sword?"

She looks up from where she was looking through the boxes of stuff.

"Yes?"

You take the sword back form the smith, sheathe it, and toss it to Milly.

"We will sees how this one works out."

"Okay!" she seems much more excited about the sword then she was about the clothes. Thinking back, you really can't blame her for that.

"So, can I interest you in another sword?" the smith asks, hope obvious in his voice.

You consider it but shake your had.

"Nah. I haves an idea where to gets some for free."

===

"Why are they murderings each other?" you groan, somewhat upset now.

You'd returned to the hidden cover from yesterday to see what Milly could do with that metal stick that's too stupid for lizards to bother using. Nytora gave sword advice while you swam. Now you all float in the water watching the pirates face off against the group that was apparently not part of them. You remember the pirate you accosted with his pants down mentioning something about barbarians.

Nytora and Milly look at you and shrug. Nothing can ever go right.

"Let's just kills them and go back to find an inn and show Milly the hotsprings," you grumble.

You swim closer, the epitome of stealth, behind you Milly splashing a bit more, but the pirates are thoroughly distracted. As you approach the shore you see a lance of water shoot out from near the center of the fighting. That looks very familiar...

"Wasn't that what your sword's water thing looks like?" you ask quietly. You look at Nytora and she stares back. You bot come to the same conclusion and immedately turn back to Milly.

"Stay near the water where you can run away," you say simultaneously before turning to look at each other again, "It's mine!"

You knock the bracelet off your arm, and you both rush in to get out of the water and at nearly the same time find you've managed ot get yourselves stuck in the muddy shore. Glaring at each other you try and fight your way out of the muck.

Milly, in her long white shirt again, passes you and you see a pair of pirates split off from the melee to charge her. Then the sword you gave her flicks out and they slide into the shallow water, blood pooling around their cooling corpses. Apparently when you get a sword, and you will get it, you need to ask Nytora for tips.

You spare a moment's attention to focus on Milly and see her walk out of the water. Another pirate rushes her and swings his cutlass, and she smoothly slides out of the way. Her saber sliding through his side as she turns away, then doubling back to hamstring him. The next man swings a heavy cudgel and her smooth unfaltering steps move past him and seperate his arms from his body.

To your side you can see Nytora struggling in the same muck you are. She draws her rapier and stirs it in the water around her, the sword pulling the water away from her some as she fires it off into the crowd of men. She's making little progress against the mud, even with less water on her she's sunk in deep and getting worse as more water flows in to fill the void.

You close your eyes and contemplate the sun. You feel the calm of a bask settle over you and twist into the energy needed for combat basking. Then when you've filled enough you let it seep out like you did in practice. The air around you immediately grows hazy and, to a creature who isn't you, likely unbearably hot. The water around starts to steam lightly and you can feel the earth around your feet baking. You start plodding out of the water towards the fight, and you can see the men starting to notice you.

Your dagger is in your hand with a thought, earth stone in place, and mana rushes into it turning it from a metal spike into a series of crystals growing from a single crystal where the metal blade was, the earth stone glows within it.

You step out of the water, staring down the humans who've seen you coming. They don't seem eager to attack you yet, so you decide to test Nytora's trick. You stab the earth with your dagger than slash upward with it. You're rewarded with disappointment as nothing happens.

Then you notice the irregular crystalline blades growing out of the dagger have extend to match the length of Nytora rapier. Apparently you don't get ranged attacks with your dagger, but you'll take extra reach any day. You grin in the human fashion at the few who've stopped fighting to stare at you. You can see and smell the sweat pouring off them in the heat your body is producing.

One of them finally screws his courage and charges you, yelling his sword held high. You've got several inches on him. And with the dagger now to sword lenght you easily intercept him with a casual slice. Instead of the spray of blood you expected though you're surprised to see the crystals that grow from your blade are now growing in the would you left on the man. He's quick to notice too, and falls to his knees screaming. The crystals continue growing, spreading the wound but still keeping it sealed shut.

From the sound of floundering behind you Nytora is getting herself deeper into the mud.

You've lost sight of Milly for the moment as a group of men broke off to fight her. You haven't hear any screaming from that direction. You're fairly sure that means she's fine.

The startled screams of the men watching you has drawn more attention to you. You grin again, then you shine brighter than the sun. The pirates scream and flinch as they're blinded by your light. You're already moving by the time the flash ends.

You take a wise arcing course that allows you to sweep past most of your enemies in one go. Your dagger turned sword slashing out and leaving long wounds that sprout crystals in your wake. Punching your sword straight through the last man, you notice that the puncturing wound produces larger crystal growth in the man's injury than just slashing. You feel slightly sick as the translucent growths give you a distorted view of the man's insides.

Nytora's irate voice roars out over the battle and you see her pulling herself clear of the water as she sends a huge spear of water into Milly's assailants. Men fly out of the way, bodies tattered by the attack and you catch sight of Milly now much more on the defensive and trying to fight her way back toward water.

As if to answer Nytora another water attack sings out of the crowd where the barbarians and pirates are the most entangled. The sword is that way.

Nytora's next shot goes wide and you can see that she's tired. Apparently whatever she did to get free was really hard as your time twin looks exhausted. You'll worry about her in a second though, first you have to get to Milly. The bad shot draws the attention of one of her attackers and he turns in time to catch your weapon on his cutlass, flinching as your heat wave hits him. Really if he were a lizard, empowered by the sun, and wielding a magical weapon, that might of worked. Instead your crystal blade shatters his and draws a long line down his torso. He screams and you shove him out of the way to get the last one.

Instead Milly recovers her footing and manages to open the man's belly as he chops at her wildly. Her foot lashes out and catches him in the ankle and he falls prone. You plants your weapon in his back like a flag and a flower of crystals sprouts from his back.

Stepping closer to Milly you're surprised when she flinches away from you. Oh, right you're currently shedding heat. You hesitate for a second before diving in and picking her up long enough to throw her into the water near Nytora.

A large part of the fighting is dying down in favor of focusing on your group now. If you're not careful their attention could shift entirely.

The heat wave will work if you dive in the middle of that group, but at the same time your friends need somone to watch them while they catch their breath. You're already in two places at once, and you get the feeling the universe got pissy about it for some reason. You'll have to try something else.

You clamp down on the energy leaking out into the heat wave. There's not much left of it, so you try to get into a bask. It actually seems easier this time. The water probably made thing harder earlier. You can feel that weird sensation that always comes with something new with combat basking. Never noticeable until it's ready.

It's there now.

You force the energy tigheter. You put pressure on it until you can't stand it. A couple times you nearly lose control of it as threaten to slip out of your bask. Then it's so tightly packed you don't know that it can be pressed any harder. You can see your scaled glowing and motes of sunlight floating off of you.

You plant your feet and look at your enemies. Falling forward you take a four point stance and hiss as you let go of the power.

The world turns white and you are blinded as a line of blistering light is drawn from you and into your enemies. Your claws tear into the earth as the recoil threatens to throw you back. Black shapes appear at the edges of what you can see and you hear the sound of dozens of men screaming in a single voice.

Then the light is out. You hear a sound like the steaming remains of an extinguished fire. Your scales are almost as black as Nytora's. You idly try and reset them but find you can't get you color to change at all.

In front of you a line of black destruction is drawn from you, across the clearing and into the woods beyond. You can see through the woods to a bright spot you assume to be the other side, then trees start falling into place to obscure it. Only men at the very edges of the fighting are still standing. The ones just outside of the line of fire are bleeding and burnt. You can make out the shape of charcoal husks that used to be men.

The humans, pirates and barbarians both stare at you with fear in their eyes.

A cracking sound crosses the clearing and you see a line of the charcoal bodies break and fall over revealing a spot of unmarred ground where they'd been covering. A large well muscled human covered in furs with an elaborate headdress stares at you. He's bleeding all over and his nice hat is nearly ash at this point. In his grip you can see a copy of Nytora's sword. He stares at you with shock and more than a little rage. Panting heavily he starts trodding toward you, sword at the ready.

You let out a breath that caught in your chest at some point, and shudder as a deep bone weariness crawls over you. That barbarian probably wants to fight. And you're really really tired.

SUNNIVA LEARNED SOLARBEAM

You could really go for a nice normal bask right now.

>That's it for tonight! I hope that met everyone's expectations
>Next thread will be... a mystery to everyone because my usual Tuesday I work. Maybe Wednesday if I'm awake for it.
>I'll stick around for questions and comments and whatnot.

>>
>>42548803
Bwahahaha yes we are disciple of the Venus Saur hear the roar of the mighty god of lizards!
>>
>>42548803
Thanks for running. On a scale of 1-10, How tired is Sunni? How impressed are Nytora and Milly? How scared are the humans?

Did either of the Mom's hear that blast? Anyone we know hear that? How many levels does the chief have to tank that shit?
>>
I'm fucking crying, we real Kaiju now boys, hopefully Nytoar and Milly can help us gank the pirate.
>>
>>42548803
Did we ever give Nytora those throwing knives?
>>
>>42548803
We have made the king of all Kaijuu proud and we didn't slag our new sword! Thanks for the Lazer Lizards Mareep....what would've happened if the solar beam failed?
>>
>>42548938
We need to get SWOLE first
>>
>>42549009
I kinda wanna be mom sized now...
>>
>>42549060
We must walk the path of kaijuu now

It is time to say goodbye to entering houses
>>
>>42548834
You're welcome!

Milly's Mom saw it. She's nearby. Granted she's at a depth sunlight usually doesn't reach so that's a thing.

Town guards on the east wall SAW it.

He doesn't have as many levels as he did a lot of dudes standing between him and the blast. Some of which he deliberately held there and propped up so they wouldn't fall down and let him take a hit.

You realized you're not supposed to give people their "I'm back from my trip" presents until you get back from the trip

Have I got news for you!

The news is that today is the day Sunny finally reached full lizard growth and finished her first month of life.

I think she's due some time off soon.
>>
>>42549125
We need wings too, Solar Kaiju must be able to DFA.
>>
>>42549125
Welp Nytora might get to be Drizzt if she gets two swords, we'll probably be too big for one
>>
Hmm going Kaijuu would mean losing our new sword guys....so how about Magical Kung-fu Lizard woman of the Sun?
>>
>>42549150
>Milly's Mom saw it. She's nearby. Granted she's at a depth sunlight usually doesn't reach so that's a thing.
I assume she's coming to investigate then.

>Town guards on the east wall SAW it.
I assume they are not.

Anyone HEAR IT?
>>
>>42549152
>>42549163
So there's a quality of magic items I've always taken as gratis unless otherwise stated. I've been corrected. Apparently that was only rings. I'll change my notes.
>>
>>42549163
Screw some sword

Our claws will be swords
Our teeth daggers
Our breathe the glory of the sun
>>
>>42549163
Dude being a Kaiju is so much cooler
>>
>>42549216
A couple people. Surprisingly the sound carries less well then FUCK MY EYES brightness

>>42549239
You. I like you.
>>
>>42549239
>>42549254
Our scales like tenfold shields?
>>
>>42549265
Probably
Imagine how tough our muscles will be
Plus we will never have to worry about another loss like Tail

She had a tragic death
>>
>>42549243
I wanna be a qt3.14 dragon girl.
>>
I just realized if we go full kaiju, we'll never get a cowardly male lizard to give us eggs. That kinda blows
>>
>>42549323
Eh Mom and Dad are childhood friends

We are just the weird kid
>>
>>42549353
Mom basically had to bully dad.

The answer is simple. We become a cute Kaiju and make a sword out of a mountain.
>>
>>42549323
We'll just bag a Dragon then. Dragons are mostly Lizards right?
>>
>>42549398
Screw that

We are the weapon not some stick
We are a living instrument of the Sun
>>
>>42549404
I mean, maybe? We might scare them off though. We'd basically have to to pull a dragon and force some poor SOB
>>
>>42549456
Well that's pretty much what Mom did, so I guess we get tips and hints from her?
>>
>>42549404
>>42549456
Does that mean we are marrying up or slumming ?
>>
>>42549483
Probably slumming, unless we find the male equivalent of Kuru who is just 2qt4me
>>
>>42549483
Both? We're the living embodiment of the sun so it's slumming, but our ancestry and birth was Lizard so it'd be marrying up. Think they more or less cancel out.
>>
>>42549513
As long as we don't hook up with a moon incarnate we should be fine

That would just be awkward
>>
>>42549483
Unless he has a hoard bigger than Smaug's then it's slummin'.
>>
>>42549538
Incest is a big no no anon.
>>
>>42549561
What about>>42549507
?
>>
>>42549561
I think dudes living in basement automatically get disqualified with our lifestyle requirements
>>
>>42549563
It would be second cousins i think
Thought that was legal
>>
we need to have a Sunny vs. Nytora where they fight over a huge male dragon or qt male lizard
>>
>>42549676
Then Milly steals him out from under the both of them.
>>
>>42549749
Wouldn't she rather get a leviathan?
>>
>>42549772
She's Landsexual anon. Anything living on land is her fetish.
>>
Sunny X Nytora OTP
>>
>>42549430
>How about we get both?
>NO I ONLY WANT ONE!

Ok.
>>
>>42549833
>>
>>42549876
Have you no Pride?
