RULES AND STATS: http://pastebin.com/5q9fPFjz

You are KARLA WEISS, a Belkan fighter pilot looking to carve your own place in the skies!

"I'll see you later, Karla!" Milly yells as she goes to reunite with fellow Belkan pilots. You see her fellow pilot cadets shoot her envious, but lighthearted glares, you guess because she was personally rescued by you. You give a casual wave in response.

"So, where to now?" Jager asks as he stands beside you, watching the you Belkan pilot cadets mobbing poor Milly to tell them juicy details about you. "Samantha has basically let us borrow this plane for the next few days so we can go... well... practically anywhere, I guess."

All the possibilities...

Yo ass is JAGER STURMFUHRER, leader of tha fledglin mercenary company DEMONS OF RANDGRIZ. In addizzle ta fightin Imps fo' scrilla n' vengeance, you have yo' own private mission ta hunt down Karla, yo' forma fiizzle whoz ass sided wit tha Imperials n' destroyed yo' home.

Yo ass first arrived up in tha Federation hood of Albion ta help defend it against a possible amphibious attack. But fuck dat shiznit yo, tha word on tha street is dat yo' boots barely hit tha deck before you was assigned a mission ta break up a spy ring. But fuck dat shiznit yo, tha word on tha street is dat all up in a cold-ass lil chain of extraordinary events, you not only smashed tha spy rang apart yo, but also managed ta capture a Imperial u-boat (mostly) intact, n' figh off a Imperial amphibious invasion by defeatin they leader, Belkan Knight Sir Fleisher.

Yo ass then moved on ta Ustio, where you helped tha beleaguered defendaz fend off a Imperial bitch ass n' stage a cold-ass lil counterbattle endin wit tha defeat of tha Knight leadin tha Imperial forces up in tha area, breakin tha back of tha Imperial offensive.

Yo ass then moonwalked back ta Gallia ta help tha Loyalists fight tha GRA n' rescue Archduchess Cordelia. Yo ass also finally decided ta move on from yo' past n' start a relationshizzle wit yo' longtime playa n' XO, Sam. Now, you've been recruited by Lynch ta destroy two Valkrur superweapons. Yo ass already managed ta destroy Stonehenge, n' all dat is left is Excalibur.

Oh, n' you axed Sam ta bone you, n' she accepted. Y'all KNOW dat shit, muthafucka! This type'a shiznit happens all tha time. Nothang possibly shitty can happen from this, right?

You're now participatin up in tha Federations bitch ass tha fuck into Belka, up in a attempt ta take heat off tha main bitch ass up in tha Round Table, as well as destroy Excalibur.

"Well, I do kind of want to see what Sand Island looks like these days..." You muse.

"Heading back to your old stomping grounds?" Jager raises an eyebrow. "Sounds interesting, but didn't they close down Sand Island years ago?"

"To be fair, that would probably make it easier to get to, considering it used to be a military base." You point out.

"True." Jager nods. "But I doubt it's a place that you can just go on a whim."

"Bah, who's going to know? The whole island is abandoned anyways." You shrug.

"I suppose." Jager frowns, not quite convinced.

"Mmmm, I think we should just take a boat there. Take our time, you know?" You smile.

"Sure thing." Jager nods as he boards the plane. "You fly us there. I'll call ahead and see if we can't arrange some transport in advance."

"Sure thing." You nod as you head for the cockpit. It was a good thing you still had all that commercial airline experience. It's a simple thing to plot a course to the airport closest to Sand Island and take off. Meanwhile, Jager pokes his head in.

"Just as I thought, they don't run ferries out there, and none of the locals are willing to go out there. I'll rent a boat, but I just wanted your input first." He says.

"On what?" You turn from the console.

"What kind of boat we rent." Jager grunts.

"Get us a speedboat. When you ride, it's always gotta be fast." You grin.

"Of course, you're a fighter pilot. Why did I even ask?" Jager shakes his head and turns away to relay your preference. A few minutes later, he returns to the cockpit and takes a seat in the copilot's chair.

"You know, you can just wait in the cabin." You say.

"Nah, I think I like it here better." Jager leans back in the seat and yawns. "I'm a bit beat. Wake me when we get there."

"Sure thing." You nod. You watch as Jager closes his eyes and he begins to snore softly.

You decide to call up Mom and Dad and see how they were doing. It felt like an eternity since you had last actually talked to them. You kind of wonder how Dad was getting accustomed to family life again.

"Hello?" You hear Mom's voice as she picks up the phone.

"Hey Mom!" You say happily.

"KARLA!" Mom squeals. "How have you been doing? You haven't been doing anything too DANGEROUS now, have you?"

"Nah, just doing my regular work." You laugh.

"Oh, so you're still doing dangerous work." Mom snipes.

"Come on Mom, we went over this. I'm a grown woman now." You roll your eyes.

"W-well, you'll always be my little girl!" Mom huffs.

"RIght, right." You roll your eyes. "How's Dad been doing?"

"Oh, he's getting along with the neighbors well enough. He's still getting used to the fact that our neighborhood is Osean territory now."

"Oh man." You snicker. "What was his face like when he discovered all the streets in Downtown were renamed?"

"He was absolutely livid!" Mom cackles. "He was on the verge of marching on city hall!"

"OH jeez." You giggle at the though. "What's he doing now, then?"

"Still trying to find a hobby to pass the time." Mom sighs. "He's been trying to buy a vintage fighter plane to refurbish and restore. Obviously, due to his... err.... background. He's not having an easy time of it."

You wonder. You had enough connections now that you could "expedite" Dad's troubles. Then again, he was a pretty proud guy and he might take offense at you helping him out on something like this.

"Well, wish him luck for me." You laugh. "I'm sure he'll be able to get a bird eventually."

"That's what I'm afraid of the most." Mom mumbles. "I was just getting used to having him around again, too!"

"What, afraid he's going to pay more attention to the plane than you?" You grin.

"Yes."

Well... that was pretty blunt.

"O-oh." You stammer. You decide not to pursue this matter any further.

The rest of the flight is rather uneventful. You have half a mind to just turn the autopilot on and take nap yourself, but you don't want to wake up Jager or anything like that, and you needed someone to monitor the flight controls, just in case.

Fortunately, you don't have to wait long. You come up to your designated airfield, an old military post that used to be the stopping point for planes before the final leg to Sand Island.

"Hey, sleepyhead." You poke Jager in the ribs. "We're here."

"Wha-?" Jager snorts as he's jolted awake, his head and eyes darting around to gauge his surroundings. No doubt from years of honing his combat instincts. "That was fast."

"What can I say? Not my first passenger flight." You grin.

The coastal town here, which once existed solely to cater to supplying and entertaining personnel at Sand Island, seemed to be doing surprisingly well for having its primary source of income gone. From what you could tell, the town transitioned to tourism to keep itself afloat, which was pretty smart of them, you think.

"Well, the boat should be ready." Jager says as he picks up his pack. "You ready to go?"

"Hey, how about we check out the town, first?" You ask, tugging at Jager's arm. "We still got time to spare."

"All right." Jager says, carefully eyeing the sun. "If we're going to go, we need to do it before sundown. I don't want to try to navigate unfamiliar waters in the dark."

"Gotcha." You nod as you survey the town. You had only been here once before, on a brief stopover before being transferred to Sand Island. You notice that the town's sole casino, which by far was the most popular attraction back in its military days, was still there and still the most prominent landmark. However, it now also seemed to be advertising itself as a hotel as well. Off tot he side was a small shopping district, holding all of the usual goods and souvenirs a coastal town like this this would sell to visitors. Down at the coast, there was a fairly large beach, that had the same snow white sand that inspired Sand Island's name. There was also a large and fairly new dock facility, where you could see a number of boats. Milling about were a mix of both old time fishers who had been here since time began, and new blood yacht owners looking to break in their new purchases. It was honestly kinda funny, but you knew these guys would know the lay of the land.

Well, you couldn't go on a trip without proper supplies, right? The shopping district was the most natural choice.

"Come on, soldier. We're gonna need to properly equip ourselves for this outing!" You say happily as you tug Jager along. "You know, food, water, sunscreen, and proper attire!"

"Proper attire?" Jager raises an eyebrow.

"Summer wear, of course!" You roll your eyes.

"All right." Jager nods. "I'll go handle the foodstuffs, then. I suspect you're going to want some 'privacy' with your purchasing decisions."

"Oh, you're so thoughtful!" You kiss Jager on the cheek. "We'll meet back here in an hour then, okay?"

"Affirmative." Jager nods and gives you a mock salute.

"Quit it! People are watching!" You hiss.

Jager quickly makes his escape, leaving you to your own devices. You wander over to one of the clothign shops, which was of course selling outfits more fitting to the warm coasts in this area. You casually pace down the isles, your eyes wandering and looking for something suitable.

You pick out a nice looking white, one piece swimsuit. You didn't feel the need to go absolutely all out, at least not yet, anyways. You also purchase some sunglesses, sunblock, and a big straw hat in order to protect yourself from the sun. Satisfied that you've gotten what you wanted, you pay for your items and are prepared to head out the door when an elderly woman sitting at the door squints and gently grabs your hand.

You don't verbally answer his question. You just give him a knowing smile and put a finger to your lips, winking as you exit the shop.

Jager is already waiting for you outside, his arms loaded down by bugs filled with various supplies. You also rather jealously note that he was attracting the attention of the other girls around, so you establish your claim by wrapping your arms around his and dragging him off to the docks.

"You sure took your time." Jager observes.

"Yeah, well, something came up." You chuckle. "Is that our boat?"

You point to a small, sleek boat with red stripes, sitting at the end of the dock.

"Yep, that's the one." Jager nods, jingling the keys in front of your face. "At full speed, we can get to Sand Island before sundown, though we'd probably have to spend the night there. We don't have enough time to come back before dark.

"What a shame." You say in a completely deadpan manner. "Whatever shall we do?"

"Tragic." Jager responds in his own deadpan manner. "At least we can use the base as shelter."

"Now that's some positive thinking!" You laugh.

The two of you then board the speedboat, with Jager carefully stowing the supplies in the back. He then motions for you to sit.

"You flew the plane, so I'll drive the boat. It's only fair." He says.

"Great, because I don't even know how to drive a boat." You laugh.

Shaking his head, Jager takes the controls, and after carefully guiding the boat away from the docks and out into open water, guns the engine at full power, shoving you into the back of your seat.

"Something tells me you always wanted to do that." You note Jager's grin.

"Oh yeah. Not much opportunity to drive a boat like this." Jager laughs.

The first few minutes are the most hectic, as Jager works to avoid the other boats near the shore, mostly other tourists like you who brought or rented their own boats. Not to mention the occasional surfer. Further out, all you saw were fishing boats, both commercial and recreational. There was little reason to be out in deeper waters, after all. However, as you get closer to Sand Island, you don't see any boat traffic at all.

"Pretty ominous." You frown.

"I'm pretty sure that has something to do with it." Jager points to a line of buoys, each one bearing a sign saying "NO TRESPASSING. MILITARY FACILITY." in large red letters.

"Well, it's not like there's anybody guarding the perimeter here." You say, pointing out the obvious lack of patrol boats or aircraft that would normally be out here. "And those buoys don't look to be in good shape, either."

"I suppose." Jager frowns. "But still..."

"Let's keep going." You say.

"Right." Jager nods and throttles up, blowing past the buoys. He continues full speed for a few more minutes, until Sand Island becomes visible on the horizon. He then looks up. "Lot's of birds around here."

You crane your head upwards and do indeed see dozens, no, hundreds of gulls in the air.

"Yeah, Sand Island used be a nesting ground for all sorts of birds." You nod. "Naturally, the army chased them all out when they built the base. And naturally, once the army left, the birds came back."

"I see." Jager nods. "I guess one of the side effects of the base shutting down is nature returning to its natural state around here."

"Yeah, without all the noise and the pollution from the base, the beaches around here have suddenly become a lot more enticing." You shrug and then pause.

Was that an airplane you just saw?

Jager immediately cuts the engines to the boat, meaning he just saw the same thing.

"An enemy?" Jager frowns. "Some kind of scout?"

"Don't know." You frown. "It's small, single prop. Definitely civilian."

The two of you continue tracking the plane, which starts to drop altitude as it heads closer to Sand Island.

"Looks like it's landing at the base." Jager says. He digs into one of the bags and takes out a handgun.

"Whoa, is that really necessary?" You gasp.

"That plane could be carrying anybody. OB spies looking for you, smugglers using the island as a forward base, or other possible hostiles."

"Or, it could just be a bunch of rulebreakers like us heading out to the base for some thrills." You point out.

"Still, can't hurt to be prepared." Jager grunts.

>Fine. Can't blame you for that.

Or perhaps the Spirit of Motherwill whose gimmick is that you have to fly underneath the legs to attack the weak points (namely the joints).

"Fine, I can't blame you for that." You concede. Jager nods and puts the pistol in a concealed holster.

"We'll be hitting shore soon." Jager says. "Just stay close and we'll sort this all out.

Jager then brings the speedboat up to one of the docks that serviced Sand Island base. Like everything else you've seen so far, the dock was abandoned and in minor disrepair. Obviously nobody had used it in years. Jager docks the boat, the helps you disembark before going into combat mode, drawing his pistol and instinctively hunching down to make himself a smaller target.

"I don't see the plane." You whisper.

"It's had plenty of time to land and hide." Jager notes. "Let's check the hangars first."

Jager quietly and carefully leads you out to the airstrip, which was now cracked patch of asphalt littered with grass and bird droppings. Suddenly, a whole flock of seagulls flaps away in alarm and Jager whips around to check the source...

...only to find a black labrador retriever playfully scattering the seagulls. The dog pauses when it sense your presence, and then just blankly stares at you and Jager, it's head tilting to the side as it tries to decide what to do.

"There's no need for the guns." An old but friendly sounding voice calls out from the open hangar. You then see a large, bald, bearded man walk casually out, wiping his greased hands with a rag. "There's nobody out here but that dog and an old man with a love for old planes."

You can't help but feel you've seen this man before. You narrow your eyes and then it suddenly clicks.

"...Pops?"

A bit late but, you mean something like:

>"Now, now, Cole. ALICE would get past this by DRINKING the vial of liquid that says, 'Drink Me'. If you cannot act within your assigned role, I'll have to take away your powers, and you'll be normal. "
