Interlude: Scolded Hearth Keeper

“I can’t believe you would be so irresponsible, Ves,” she groans across crossed arms, “You know Usa-chan didn’t drink much when she was her age,”

“I still don’t think I was in the wrong,” the red haired woman complains and frowns at her empty flask, “Besides, Usa-chan wanted me to make nice with Mikage. What’s better than bonding over a drink?”

Hotaru Tomoe sighs and glances over at the still hugging and crying younger Chiba sisters. She closes the distance between the two of you and whispers conspiratorially over the ongoing matter.

“Her situation is delicate. Especially emotionally,” the woman whispers to you in a more calm and normal voice, “I don’t care if she said she drinks, getting her drunk was especially dangerous, and if she had been in a foul mood I think we would all be in a lot of trouble,”

“Well then it's a good thing I was talking to her,” you smile and lay a hand on the dark haired girl’s shoulder, “Until she got scolded for getting tipsy things were fine,”

“That’s not the point, Ves,”

Quest Start

You are Mikage Chiba, second year high school student fifteen years old. Formerly you were the third woman to carry the mantle of the champion of love and justice known as Sailor Moon, after your mother and elder sister. Presently your younger sister carries the title, after you abandoned it after a troubling personal experience and perceived failure of your own heroics. Recently you promised to support your baby sister and her Sailor Guardians in secret, and you won’t fail her.

Speaking of failure, past and to be defeated, you just said goodbye to your elder sister. Usa, your big sister, is after a fashion you from an alternate future. It’s a long and complicated story, but due to circumstances you had a hand in she has had to go back to her own reality and time when you will likely need her most.

Your mother is off world. Usa is in a future that will not come to pass from this present. Its troubling.

However, you aren’t thinking of that, because you are quite inebriated. After being peeled away from your tearful embrace with your younger sister, your friend Keiko Sugimoto has begun unsteadily leading you out of the secret Sailor Guardian base and Karaoke lounge beneath the Crowne Arcade.

~Keiko-chan,~ you cry out in a cadence you are quite unaccustomed to as you reach back down the entryway stairs toward your also teary eyed baby sister as her friends tend to her, ~I wasn’t done,~

“You need water and coffee,” the popular girl explains through a sigh, “And we’re getting that upstairs with Kairi and Midori,”

The long black haired girl pulls you closer so you don’t stumble and fall as she checks her phone.

“Hopefully they’ll have time to order some before we get up there,”

~Oh my goodness can it be sweet coffee? A latte with whip cream and and, awww I forget what else goes into a latte?~ you groan unsteadily.

“Sure,” she says, placating, “Just come on,”
>>
>>42626311

Keiko only recently became a Sailor Guardian. More than that, she was the reincarnation of an ancient sorceress who was possessed by a cosmic evil. You helped to save her from being subsumed into the consciousness of her previous incarnation and the remaining phantom shadows of that cosmic evil, in doing so you discovered a piece of the heart of the sun was once stolen by that evil and has been left to slumber in her soul. With your mother’s aid that fragment was hewn into a starseed; the source of power for a Sailor Guardian.

Now, the girl you helped to save has become one of the potentially most powerful Sailor Guardians of this generation. Sailor Sol.

And she is carrying your drunk ass toward your own friends for an important meeting to discuss things you should probably be sober for.

Through the portal of glowing white energy, you find yourselves back in the back hall of normal Karaoke lounges at the Crowne Arcade.

She leads you through the corridor and out among the bright blinking lights and sounds of the arcade proper. It is a bit much for you right now, but you can manage to withstand it.

“Mikage-chan, Sugioto-san!” you hear Kairi call out from a booth near the snack counter of the arcade.

You can’t see her quite so clearly, it's too bright and you can’t quite focus. You aren’t sure if its the booth where a figure is waving in your direction, or the booth behind where someone is hiding behind a menu, poorly.

While I do want her to sober up, let's go with the natural over emotional for the moment..
>Kaiiiiiiiri-chan! Engage dive hug
And obviously she most be the one in the booth behind where someone is hiding behind a menu, poorly. Kairi-chan is terrible as hiding, but she is still out bestie. Why is she hiding after calling out to us, that make no sense we should ask her about that after the dive bomb.

When you hear your best friends voice, you decide the best course of action is to dive toward the booth where you best friend sits.

~Kaiiiiiiiiri-chan!~ you call out as you break away from a surprised Keiko.

Barreling through the moderately crowded arcade, you get knocked a bit off course. Correcting yourself in mid step, you dive into a hug toward Kairi as she hides behind a menu.

~Let’s get sweets!~ you clamor out, ~Oh, and let’s play video games,~ you are the best at video games.

Kairi isn’t very good at stealth, you are. You’ll have to teach Kairi your ninja bunny ways when you get the chance. Crashing into her, arms wide, you laugh as you nuzzle into your best friend’s side. Her long black hair falling in front of your face as you haul her up to drag her toward the arcade proper.

Wait, Kairi-chan’s hair is red?

“Uh, Mikage-chan?” Kairi says from the booth.

Oh, she was the waving figure. And there’s Midori-chan.

~Oh, Kairi-chan?~

Then who are you dragging out of their seat?

Taking stock of the figure you pulled out of the booth, you find a thin and lanky girl with long black hair that is a tangled mess, and wide eyes with a pronounced shadow and bags beneath them. She is also a girl you saved, a classmate, her name is Saori Umeki. The undersocialized girl is blushing and on the edge of some kind of embarrassing shock.

Keiko catches up, an exasperated look crossing her features.

>Umeki-san? How did you switch places with Kairi-chan? Are you magic?

~Umeki-san?~ you question in wonder and having forgotten that you had bumped into someone and been knocked off course during your charge, ~How did you switch places with Kairi-chan?~

The girl stutters and looks in any and every direction for a way out, in certain desperation.

“Um, Mikage isn’t exactly in a good place right now,” Keiko tries to explain to the others, “Usa just left, LEFT left, and-,”

~Are you magic?~ you question while leaning in, glaring at her dubiously.

As you recall, when she was a monster she had powers of illusion before you healed her. Maybe that’s just what she wanted you to think! Your close scrutiny prompts her to find her balance against your earlier pull and seems to return to her usual slouch.

Maybe it’s because she could smell the liquor on your breath. Maybe it's because you were acting blatantly friendly.

“I am magic!” she declares, loudly in a boast of false bravado, and pulls her hand back from you, “What’s with you, Chiba-san. You’re acting all...happy?”

“-one of her friends split a flask with Mikage,” Keiko finishes, “Last I saw she was getting chewed out by Tomoe-san,”

~I should be sad, but I’m trying to be happy,~ you explain and then grab her arm again and pull her toward Keiko, Midori, and Kairi while slurring ~Hey, we’re going to have sweets and coffee. Join us, Umeki-san,~

“Well, I won’t begrudge her given the timing,” Kairi says before her head whips over to you, “Wait, what?”

“She never drank much as Mik-” Midori pauses as you crowd into the booth next to Kairi and across from Midori with Saori Umeki in tow before she drawls, “And there goes our ability to speak privately,”

“Wait,” Umeki-san fails to pull away from you as she takes notice of who is sliding into the booth next to Midori, “Wait, you mean with-with-with all of you and Sugimoto-san!?”
>>
>>42632106

She is suddenly aghast, he false bravado undercut by the presence of the most popular girl in your school. Turning to the side, her hands go to either side of her head and she worriedly explodes into her very visible and audible soliloquy.

“I’m being invited to having snacks and coffee with the two least popular and two most popular girls in school?” she murmurs to herself, “I-I only wanted to know what all of them were up to when I followed Osaka-san and Midori-san in secret,”

“We saw you,” Kairi offers a sigh from beside you.

“Almost as soon as we left the school,” confirms MIdori, less than enthused.

“Let’s just have a nice time while we wait for Mikage to get back to herself,” Keiko explains while you see one of her hands disappear beneath the table and Midori’s features immediately calm, “So, Umeki-san, I heard you had a small incident today,”

The lanky girl freezes up as Keiko speaks directly to her. Eventually she offers an explanation of her fleeing from class due to a rushing shadow on the floor and walls, then to you running into the science lab where she was hiding carrying a really big spider.

During this time conversation is broken up as the crown attendant, Yeon-sek, steps over to take your orders. While you ramble off a bunch of sweet things, everyone makes sure you also get an exceptional amount of water and coffee.

You demand whip cream on that coffee, when it is mentioned. An overly complicated coffee drink with sweet things and a shot of espresso and various flavored syrups.

Yeon seems concerned, but the pleading looks from Midori and Kairi get him to drop his concern with a sigh.
>>
>>42632150

Conversation resumes and Umeki explains how Sakurada-san showed up and you assured them an explanation to the shadows and that they weren’t crazy.

Your coffee and snacks and sweets and everyone’s drinks and orders arrive.

>dice+1d20 best of 3, 1s and 20s wild

That was really quick? Maybe your perception of time is off.

Still, the coffee is good, sweet, bitter, milky, caramel laced, and delicious. Between your snacks and the coffee, you feel a bit more yourself.

>Just keep quiet for a bit, and keep working to clear yourself up
>Try to explain to Umeki why she isn’t crazy. What do you say?
>Maybe warn Umeki-san that those spiders are possessing folks, what if she is too?

Coffee in your veins and food in your belly, you feel a touch less giddy. In fact, you’re self aware enough to know how far you let yourself slip into Ves-san’s shochu. Realizing the mess you made of yourself you drink deep, first of your coffee and then of your water, as the girls chat around you and Umeki-san explains her story of today.

As she had been explaining, nervously, the flitting shadow that sent her screaming away into the hall the others occasionally cast eyes your way. Nodding at their suspicion, you let them get back to talking in general as the awkward girl freezes up while answering a question of how she came to know Osaka-san.

“It’s okay, Umeki-san, especially with them you don’t have to be ashamed about what happened to you,” and with those urgings from Kairi-chan the other girl explains how she had been turned into a monster and the circumstances of her being freed from that state.

Still, you don’t think you are quite cognizant enough to engage in all this usefully. Your coordination is still more than a little skewed, and it’s somewhat difficult to think clearly.

Actively working to clear your head, you push to fog of intoxication to the periphery of your senses with the aid of effort and a few refills of your coffee. Though you make sure your subsequent orders are less sweet.

Casting your eyes around the rest of the arcade, you notice that there are a smattering of students from many of the nearby schools here to hang out after their clubs have let out. A few of them are from your school, and you narrow your eyes in suspicion of them as another coffee and a sweet pastry or roll of some kind is again set in front of you.
>>
>>42634769

Keiko came here with you, therefore it may be likely that there are spiders in the Crowne. Well, you spot a familiar face in the crowd, topically enough and probably waiting for Koyomi and his sister to come up from the Karaoke lounge, as you notice Koito Kino standing thoughtfully in front of a rock paper scissors game machine.

As the girl finishes her story, you feel very much again like yourself. Your eyes drift back to the table, and across it at Midori and Keiko. The blonde girl remains quiet and looking a bit away from Umeki-san’s story, while the girl beside her with the voluminous dark hair remains attentive.

Saori Umeki is someone who can see the shadows cast by the remains of the Shintennou. A potential knight to your court if she accepts the offer, if you make it to her. Her viability is among the things you wished to speak of with the others.

~Oh,~ you observe in a lull of the conversation, ~I think that’s Kino-san,~

“Oh, she’s come up from Karaoke already?” Keiko asks, turning in the direction you flail in.

“No, looks like her brother,” Kairi observes, and casts a suspicious eye toward you.

~I bet I know why he’s here,~ you snicker to yourself before waving and calling out, ~Hey, Kino-san! Kino-san!~

“Oh, he works at that cafe,” Umeki-san observes, “You guys know him?”

“Well, he was our underclassman in junior high,” Kairi explains, “And his sister is best friend’s with Mikage-chan’s sister,”

~And now I think they’ve started dating and being adorable with one another,~ you declare.

“And he used to have a huge crush on Osaka-san,” Midori adds, mostly for her own amusement as Kairi wilts a bit.

“Hey now,” you best friend complains and then sticks her tongue out at Midori, “We worked all of that out already,”

“What, it’s still fun to tease,” Midori shrugs.

~My thoughts exactly,~ you smile.

As Koito Kino wanders over, he smooths out his presently loose junior high jacket.

“Oh, Chiba-san, Osaka-san, Mori-san, Sugimoto-san,” he says cheerfully, “It’s good to see you. Oh, sorry miss, I don’t think I know you. My name is Koito Kino, nice to meet you,”

“Y-you too,” Umeki-san says trying to play off her presence and sinking into herself using her previously boasted expert slouching skills.

She slouches far enough down that she’s practically sinking beneath the table, but shoots upright when she notices something. Midori and Keiko both go rigid and slide a few inches away from one another as they stare worriedly at Saori Umeki, and she stares at them with a mild blush across her features.

You aren’t so concerned with her as you are with teasing Koito Kino, as you look across the flustered girl’s field of vision.
>>
>>42637998

~So, proud to be dating my little sister?~ you ask him rather blatantly.

His attention snaps from Umeki-san’s odd behavior to you. The sly and still slightly giddy smile on your lips betrays any maliciousness behind your proddings.

“I-what?” he flusters, “Chiba-san, is that appropriate to be talking about?”

~Oh come on,~ you wave it off, ~We’ve known each other for years. Practically family! Speaking of which, can you imagine how our moms will react when they get back from their trip?~

He freezes. You can see a sudden beads of sweat take form on his forehead.

“I hadn’t actually,” he gulps in worry and then steadies himself, “Actually, we haven’t had a proper date yet,”

~What?~ you say in earnest surprise, ~Boo! You need to step up your game if I’m going to allow you to woo my little sister,~

“Actually I think she’s been trying to catch my attention,” he tries to explain, “So really I think she is the one trying to woo-”

~Because you’re being dense!~ you exclaim, ~Everything is out on the table now! You need to make some kind of move! If your feelings are true, just don’t screw things up and hurt her, just think of the fallout,~

“Ah, Chiba-san,” he says through some embarrassment, “Are you alright, you seem a little-”

“She is, which is why she’s doing such a piss poor job teasing you,” Midori sighs and then gets a determined look in her eyes, “Not to worry, because I can turn it around on her just as easily,”

~Eh?~
>>
>>42638027

“Speaking of romance,” she smiles in the true sly fashion you expect from her as Jade of the ganguro fashion circle, “What were you and Sakurada-san talking about earlier today, and then after school let out?”

~Eh, What, I mean-~

“The two of you have history?” she idly wonders, “Don’t they, Osaka-san?”

Your best friend giggles playfully beside you. You are betrayed!

“Why yes, they do,” she confirms.

Your head whips between Midori’s smug face and Kairi’s bemused smile. True, there is only one recourse as you come a bit closer to yourself and in turn a bit more embarrassed with your behavior. It isn’t to whine, it isn’t to run away, and it isn’t retaliation.

Mikage Chiba isn’t someone so petty, and she can admit when she’s wrong.

Stifling the near panic you’d been building whipping back and forth between Midori and Kairi, you compose yourself and offer a sigh.

~Alright,~ you exclaim, ~You’ve made your point. I’m sorry,~

At the last bit, you slouch a bit, before snatching up for latest coffee and take a slow drag on it. It frustrates you that you’ll likely be quite jittery later because of it.

“Well, if that’s everything,” Koito Kino says nervously and starts to step away from the table, “I’ll just go back to waiting for Kanari and your sister,”

~She’ll be sad when she comes up,~ you say into your coffee cup quite seriously as your eyes settle on the retreating young boy, ~so, just be ready for that,~

He nods firmly and walks back into the bustle and activity of the arcade around you.

“Apology accepted,” Midori says with a grin of victory, “You were getting a bit unwieldy,”

“Midori-chan,” Keiko scolds, “It’s not nice to gloat over someone you beat while they’re at a disadvantage,”

>>42639488

Against those words, your slouch deepens. Kairi sighs and lays a supporting hand on your shoulder.

“There there,” she comforts, “you seem like you’re doing better now,”

“Back to more important things then?” Keiko asks.

By the way, drunken shenanigans are over. You've had a few sobering moments on top of a good roll on helping sober up.
>>
~Yup, down to brass tacks,~ you pull out an old and sage saying to sound more together than you probably are, but pause, ~Wait,~

Something isn’t quite right, you’re forgetting something.

Glancing to your left, you see Kairi sitting between you and the window of the booth. Across from you are Keiko and Midori, this time you do notice that Midori’s hand is also resting beneath the table on her side facing her so far secret girlfriend. Briefly internally snickering at them being cute together you continue through your mental checklist.

Turning out toward the rest of the Crowne Arcade, you don’t see anyone close enough to eavesdrop on your small gathering.

“What’s wrong, Mikage?” Keiko asks in concern.

“Something isn’t about to happen here and now of all places,” Midori pouts in concern as she inches a bit closer in the booth to Keiko.

So, just what exactly are you forgetting.

Or rather, as you cast your eyes down, who?

Slouching all the way into the corner where the seat cushion meets the back cushion is Saori Umeki. That’s who you forgot. The disheveled girl looks up at you, hearts and stars in her sunken eyes at something she was watching intently.

“Ah,” she stammers and glances back across the underside of the table and then back to you and speaks very quietly, “I was feeling a bit overwhelmed so I slid down here...I didn’t mean to see anything, but I just sort of caught it earlier,”
>>
>>42640697

What could she possibly be looking at? Leaning down to look across the underside of the table yourself, you’ll know soon enough. You know she likes an assortment of things from Kairi-chan’s description of her room, but you doubt that Keiko’s or Midori’s school skirts would be hiked up high enough for her to-

And you see what seems to have her attention.

Their hands. Keiko and Midori, secretly holding hands with fingers intertwined.

It's certainly adorable, but that’s what has this strange girl so transfixed and quiet you nearly forgot about her and were about to talk about sensitive subject matters in her presence?

She looks suitably embarrassed as you haul her back up to proper sitting posture and height alongside you.

Have reached the need tech and had been spending some time mining for advanced materiels. Constructed the seed of an outpost at the edge of space with a well protected teleporter. Next time I get to play I'll be expanding on that with storage lockers for construction materials and furniture I've dug up.

Yeah, when I was scanning around for suitable planets, when I saw that systems name I was "there better be a usable planet here, 'cause I wanna use this system".

Glad it worked out to your preference!

I am forgetting, who was the invisible girl in competition with for knighthood? Lightning lad?
>>
>>42653296
You don't know the affinity in character, but yes. Saori Umeki and Koito Kino are both compatible with Zoisite
>>
>>42653604
>>42653296
If it's between Umeki and Kino, Kino wins hands-down.

I like Saori, but Koito has a personal stake in this.
>>
>>42654493
We are building a court though and between choosing us or our sister he'd choose our sister. So personally i'd rather give it to Saori.

Shame to, i was hoping to bring Yoshi and Sasha onboard together.
>>
>>42654609
Can you imagine her reaction to being offered that? Then finding out her mentoring spirit is gay?

Given her defaulting to her games and media for social guidance, and given her tastes, that would be a frustrating conversation.
>>
>>42653604
We didn't know on Kino?
Umeki was guessed based on what who she heard sounded like, right?

>>42654609
Hm, never thought on Kino that way. Though in my mind that is a vote in his favor since that is a person we want to see protected. Though he also has had feeling for our best friend and Sailor us.

Stare at the interlinking love triangles too long and they go fractal.
>>
>>42655884
True.
I could totally see him letting his emotions get the best of him though and really screwing something up when sister is in danger. Like some villain holding sis hostage and us getting disarmed and defeated by him to protect her. I hate when that happens in shows.

Plus seeing more of Umeki would be fun to. I wonder if she'll have any romantic options in the future.

I am terrible at math.

That's ok. Irrational and imaginary numbers come into play in high level relationometrey.

>relationometrey
That sounds more like psychometry than trigonometry . I mean, what kind of calculator could you use for that?
>>
>>42661403
Psychometry. Part of Mamoru's power set.
>>
>>42662360
Thus his ultimate success in that field.

>>42663597
Thus there is still hope for Mikage once things get more sane.

I need to keep better notes.

and update character sheets
>>
>>42663943
While we might get more sane, I question whether things and situations around us will do so. More calm perhaps, but I have a feeling the craziness of the world around will more likely increase.
>>
>>42664662
speaking of sanity, can't you just imagine the beast laughing at Mikage for being terrible at drinking.

I wonder how the beast gets when she's drunk?
>>
>>42666853
Somehow I would imagine Red Eyes actually acting like a lighter weight than baseline. Being the same person the resistance wouldn't change but the Beast would care less.

So the Beast would go full Usagi?

She does give no fucks.

More concerned about the Manager being around though.

So, would Umeki Knight be stealth, or would so go full inversion and but super bright colors and in yo face?
>>
>>42680735
Well, what kind of shit did Zoisite do? It seems kind of based on the source knights.
>>
>>42680735
Umeki will be built to be stealthy, even passively, on her own, and with soul melds could enhance that, but her spell list and zoisite item might have different bonuses for certain.
>>
>>42671267
Angry trashed or party trashed?
>>
Wait, does that mean Kino has a talent for stealth as well?
>>
>>42685716
He would certainly be fightier than Umeki.

Whichever is more fun.

A certain alter ego does need to chat at some point.

Who will be more awkward? Who will wind up leading events? Mimi or Umeki
>>
>>42693737
Feel like Umeki would be more forceful.
>>
>>42694799
We shouldn't be alone with her in Mimi-mode. Heh, almost wrote meido out of habit. Now I'm thinking about Meido-mode, or Meido-modo just to sound catchier.

Wonder what kind of Maid everyone in the cast would be? Even the men. Especially the men.
>>
Commander Maru best Meido. No nonsense The internet, and to a lesser extend George Takei, have failed me. I could find no picture online of the man in a Maid costume. Found him as Spider-man and a nun, but no maid.

We need to get involved with PIT more.
Did we ever get our concerns about how secure they were passed on to Naru?
>>
>>42701600
Don't think so, do we want to cue Naru in on the Spiders?
>>
>>42702282
Not a bad idea to have them on standby..

On the otherhand, if we can get them to do a screening of the school to seperate the infected and then have sis heal the lot of them, that could be a fairly clean op.
Something about the idea of continuing to quietly foil enemy plans amuses me.

On yet another hand, if there is a leak then who knows what they might have them do.

On another foot, we might not have the clout to call in much more than them watching the school slightly more than they are already. We are approaching as an officially unknown element.
>>
>>42703133
We are another Foot short.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHA

Mildly excited to see combat on the horizon again, as the QM.

Same here.

Besides, Mikage hasn’t punched anyone in a while, she must be getting antsy.
>>
>>42709875
She punched a mirror.
>>
>>42711305
That was part of Beast's ongoing recovery. And while she is angry a herself, that wasn't quite as cathartic enough for her to say nothing of her action junkie needs.

The fake fights after and the very real terrorizing of loiterers and worse helped tremendously.
>>
>>42709875
We haven't rose tossed in even longer, at least she's gotten to trash some low-lifes.

Also, captcha, one of those was definitely a muffin with a dab of frosting on it, not a cupcake.

>Also, captcha, one of those was definitely a muffin with a dab of frosting on it, not a cupcake.

That is so annoying.
>>
>>42712326
So. Tomorrow in ge we prepare to go unload the power of our fully operational horticulture?
>>
>>42712971
We do have some serious horticulture we haven't used yet.

Or the crystal storm for group shots.. I really hope we can pull our punches with that, spider-infected or no, maiming that many people would be bad.
>>
I just hope we can mess up the enemy plans without them noticing again. I have enjoyed that theme.
The canister.
Taking care of Metallia before they get there and wounding their heavy hitter.
Disrupting the collection efforts.

I want to keep seeming to be a step ahead and mysterious to them.
>>
>>42713586
Ok, so we need to find out something key to their effots. How can we do that?
..as I was typing that a thought occurred to me.
We need whatever might be locked away in Umeki's mind.

I think we should dream dive Umeki.

It is nice, repeatedly foiling plans.

Should ask Helios for advise on that one. Oo maybe we could teamup with Fish Eye and crew!
>>
>>42716542
a sound idea
>>
>>42717687
Once we get a feel for who is at the center of it and what the enemy wanted out of it, we can make a plan of action.

If their plan is what I think it is, to gather intel on Keiko and people around her, we need to arrange things such that we seem like non-powered people.. likely through being seen fighting an striving against a spider apocalypse as normal people while someone else does the magical rescue. Which means punching things.

Alternately, we bust in as Eclipse and the Knights in the night on whoever is the nexus of this and have a brawl with a spiderhive in the streets (cause you know spiders won't be caught sleeping).
>>
>>42717972
You know, a spider's perception extends to the edge of their lair, which is simultaneously a trap. I'm curious what you'll do.
>>
>>42717972
Exceptionally punchy.
>>
>>42717972
Yeah, the only reason they openly backed off from trying to kill Keiko is because Eclipse went mysterious at them, its unlikely to have deterred them in the long term.
>>
>>42716295
Strange and terrifying or wonderful and adventurous? That adventurous is meant as a euphemism.
>>
>>42722050
There are a lot of euphemisms in there, I'm sure.

Though, with her knowledge, the developing love dodechedrons around us would seem easy to grasp.
>>
>>42722277
Manga is good training for tracking (ex/re)magical girl love lives. Though most solutions Umeki would offer would likely be harem route.. and trying to compete for affections.
>>
>>42722277
Umeki, positively affecting Mikage's relationship woes with sane and reasonable advice based on her skewed and limited experiences? Let me think about that.

"Okay, factoring for alternate universe time travel I've worked out a flow chart tree!"

~I don't see how this helps- Umeki-san, you have five seconds to explain why so many end points on this en in 'wincest'~

"Do not question the flow of the dialogue trees, for their true purpose is unknowable,"

~it is knowable, you wrote it!~
>>
>>42723563
That too.
>>
I am amused.
>>
>>42718105
>I'm curious what you'll do.

>>
>>42728917
>>42727094
The only way to plan sometimes.
>>
>>42723563
Well now, those dreams should be a pleasant experience then. Right?
>>
>>42730229
The dreams might be terribly awkward.
As is the question of whose affections she'd compete for.
>>
>>42731136
You know, our other suitors might need to be cautious, we might be like Usa and turn out to be predisposed toward odd socially inept girls.
>>
>>42731136
All of it.
>>
>>42731307
We bond with Umeki over graphic doujinshi, Kairi looks up from the BL book we got her hooked on.

"Perverts,"
>>
>>42731307
Hm, Yoshi may fit Helios' archetype. Neither one seems easy to outwardly frazzle. Now, does he have the caring soul to match? Stay tuned!
>>
>>42731307
Hotaru was odd.

Umeki is something else.
>>
>>42734846

>>42737958
Making a girl cry.. unforgivable.
>>
>>42737958
>>42740717
I know Mikage's cried before, but it was always over serious matters and emotional highs, does Mimi contain her crybaby mode?
>>
>>42741693
Apparently alcohol unlocks that mode, but Mimi does seem more easily flustered.
>>
>>42743776
Her and Umeki meeting will not go well.

Odd concern floating around in my head: What if the knights who end up with the Shitennou couple end up interested in each other?
>>
>>42753238
That logic would mean Kairi became attracted to her mother.

She did not.
>>
>>42755133
They both care for her.

Hey, I'm tryin' to stir up baseless paranoia and musings here.
>>
>>42755247
Fair enough, sorry for derailing the attempted Shadowrun
>>
>>42755305
Is it possible for the Shitennou to become visible to the rest of Mikage’s team, or can they only speak to their wielders?
>>
>>42757622
We've at least seen that Mikage could make them visible to others when she had the lot of them.
>>
>>42757622
Once they are bound to an item for their associated knight, that is their only point of manifestation.
>>
>>42755247
And Midori and Jadeite had a point of common interest.
