“I understand you have some concerns, Lady Riku?”

The eternally-gravelly voice of Head Captain Yamamoto addresses you, his weathered and time-worn face wrinkling in what you realize is as close as he ever comes to fatherly concern. It's unusual for him to show such a face for anyone aside from the Captains of Eighth and Thirteenth Divisions, leading you to wonder if you should be more worried about this meeting than you are.

“I do,” you admit, your voice and posture somewhat stiffer than usual due to the situation. “I am a Captain, and as such I pride myself not just on my power but on my control over that power. Had I been entrusted to exercise that control over my own reiatsu rather than being shackled by an archaic system, we wouldn't be here.”

“This may be true,” the Head Captain allows, though you can already sense the impending conclusion. “But that archaic system exists for the protection of the living world under the orders of the Central 46.”

“I'm aware of that,” you continue determinedly, “but would you mind passing this on as a formal complaint?”

“I will ensure your concerns are heard.”

“Now then, Captain,” a new voice interrupts, dripping with all the false pleasantry and mocking concern you've come to expect from its owner. “I take it you know why there are three of us Captains here to greet you?”

“Enlighten me, Captain Aizen,” you growl, making no attempt to hide your contempt for the snake who called this meeting the moment you returned from the Royal Palace. He's wasted no time trying to disgrace you in front of your fellow Captains, and on another day you might have been able to calmly refute him and move on with your life. But you've already run out of patience for the day, and Aizen's smugness is starting to get to you.

“This is most irregular, Captain Kusajishi,” he continues, as if having failed to recognize your bitter sarcasm for what it was. You figure he's probably doing this because he's enjoying the chance to subject you to public scrutiny. “You have lost one zanpakuto in battle, if the reports from Third Division's Lieutenant Iba are accurate, but returned to the Seireitei with two. How did you come by these two blades?”

Although she seems to resent having been involved in the whole affair, Captain Unohana's eyes fall on you. Seems she's genuinely curious to hear your answer, since Aizen went to the trouble of calling her to the Head Captain's office.

You spare a glance down towards your left hip, where Tenkotsuki and Kobara no Tachi rest in a complicated arrangement, twisted together around a leather belt that you now have to wear under your sash to keep everything in position. An unexpected complication, but thankfully more of a nuisance than a genuine problem.

“Maybe you just miscounted?” you shrug. None of the other Captains seem particularly willing to let the issue drop, so you sigh as you run over the facts of the matter in your head. You decide to exclude the unnecessary details and give the simplest version of events possible.

“I fixed it,” you explain.

“The question was how,” Aizen persists.

You face Unohana and the Head Captain, making it clear to whom you are choosing to speak. “I convinced Oetsu to let me reforge Tenkotsuki. While I was at it I decided to make a few little changes. That's all.”

For now you overlook the fact that those “changes” involved shoving your inner hollow into a new zanpakuto. They don't need to know that.

“You entered the Royal Palace grounds unauthorized?” Yamamoto asks, a rare hint of amusement in his voice instead of accusation. “In what manner did you accomplish this?”

You choose to explain by example, concentrating your reiatsu and pushing in a similar manner to how you penetrated the barrier between realms, causing the air to seemingly distort as space bends under your touch. “By using a technique I learned observing Menos over the years. It's quite simple, really... you just need to know how and where to apply pressure.”

Unohana seems to buy your explanation for the moment, as she chooses to move on instead of following up. “And so you forged two brand-new swords?”

“Correct.”

“And there's no difference in your performance, Captain?” Aizen presses.

“Of course not. The steel is hardly what's important, because that's not what Tenkotsuki is. Never has been.”

“Are you certain of that?” Aizen asks, crossing his arms defensively. You can't be sure, but he seems genuinely flummoxed by your casual explanations. “Reforging a zanpakuto that has been completely lost is unheard of.”

In your mind, you can feel Tenkotsuki itching to speak up.

Feeling her exasperation, you allow Tenkotsuki to manifest at your side. The sudden appearance of a regally-appointed kitsune woman understandably surprises your fellow Captains, and the fact that she's wearing what appears to be a stage mask of a fox to hide her face initially catches you off guard as well. But after a moment you figure this must be a means to excuse the possible changes in your appearance when you release your swords from now on.

She always was a clever one.

“My dearest Lady Riku still has command over our Bankai,” Tenkotsuki growls angrily, despite her formal tone, “and I should not need to tell you that her reiatsu has in no way diminished. If anything it has grown in her released states.”

“Well, I guess that's that then,” Captain Unohana cheerfully concludes. “Thank you for your patience, Lady Riku, Lady Tenkotsuki. I look forward to seeing your continued hard work.”

Aizen seems unwilling to let this opportunity to cast doubt on you slip away, and turns to his colleague. “Captain Unohana, surely we shouldn't be so quick to trust the word of...”

“I would suggest you watch your tongue, brat,” Tenkotsuki interrupts, turning her head ever so slightly to glare at Aizen from where she stands. “It almost sounds as if you are implying that I am a liar.”

“You are speaking to a Captain of the Gotei...”

“With all due respect, “Captain”,” your zanpakuto interrupts a second time, clearly having none of Aizen's bullshit, “it was my impression that I was listening to a petulant child who did not receive the outcome he desired.”

You extend your hand low in front of your sword's manifested form, making a show of keeping her in check. “That's enough, Tenkotsuki.”

After a pregnant pause, she nods. “My apologies, Lady Riku.”

“It's fine. You simply said what we both felt.”

You bow briefly towards the assembled Captains, and Tenkotsuki mirrors your gesture at your side... though her bow is distinctly shallower than your own. She then vanishes just as abruptly as she appeared.

“Way to tell them off, vixen,” Rosa's voice offers in grudging congratulations. “That Aizen prick's got it coming... PLEASE tell me we get to kill him?”

“Captain Aizen, I'm tired of listening to you talk,” you groan, ignoring the conversation inside your own head. “Head Captain, Captain Unohana? Is there anything else you need from me?”

Yamamoto shakes his head solemnly. “There is not. I apologize for the wasted time.”

“Sorry you wasted time on my account,” you apologize in return, remembering your manners. After all, it's exceedingly rare that the old man even offers an apology.

As you leave the office, a powerful pair of spiritual presences greet you.

“Yo!' Zaraki grins manically from his perch atop a handrail. “Heard you had a tough day at the office, what's all this shit about?”

Nearby stands Kurotsuchi, of all people, wearing some new kind of makeup and a ridiculous hat to compliment his disturbed smile. “And I heard you did something quite bizarre to the fabric of space and time... such a violation surely demands further study, don't you think?”

“It wasn't a violation, Mayuri,” you reassure the deranged scientist. “I was simply allowed into the Royal Palace because MY heart is pure.”

“Very well,” Kurotsuchi scoffs. “Keep your secrets then, for the time being. But you cannot keep this technique hidden from me forever!”

“You could actually come to the damn barbecue for once,” Zaraki points out... actually quite fairly, in fact. “Your call.”

“I have research to do,” Kurotsuchi dismisses the Captain's offer. “Unlike a simpleton like you, I have more interesting things to pass the time.”

“Guy would be a downer at a party anyway,” Zaraki shrugs, leading you towards his Division's grounds.

It doesn't take much time to get there when it's only two Captains, and when you arrive you're greeted by several familiar faces: the pink-haired Lieutenant Zaraki brought in with him, his bald Third Seat, the foppish Fifth Seat, and strangely enough Rangiku of all people.

“What're you doing here?” you question her.

“I won a bet with Madarame over there,” she explains, “and when he couldn't pay up he offered as much barbecue as I could eat.”

“You were sparring just now, weren't you?” you guess, and you're met with a devilish grin from your daughter. Girl's started eating as much as you and Yoruichi since she learned Bankai.

“Well, enjoy,” you tell Rangiku, immediately realizing how superfluous that suggestion really was. She's going to enjoy herself regardless of what you tell her to do.

Instead, you find Zaraki tending to the charcoal grill. Other members of his Division seem to be giving both of you a wide berth... Rangiku too, now that you're paying attention to it.

“Still having sword problems?” you ask the towering Captain.

He merely shrugs. “Somethin' like that.”

“You don't know its name, do you?” you press sternly.

He shakes his head. “Hasn't got one.”

“Bullshit,” you counter. “Every zanpakuto's got a name.”

“Well, not mine,” he growls, passing you a plate of steaming meat. “Don't need one so long as it hacks and stabs just fine, and I've been getting' the feelin' that the old men wouldn't want me learnin' it even if I could.”

“You should try to learn it anyway” you insist. “My Tenkotsuki is literally my pride, and your zanpakuto is also a part of you that should be recognized with a name.”

“And why should I?” he growls a challenge that draws attention from a few of his subordinates.

You glare at him. “Because your name is Zaraki. Mine is Kusajishi. We both know what it's like to not have a name of our own.”

The Captain glances down at his sword, which is currently jammed point-down into the dirt next to the grill, and pauses. His eyes linger for just a moment before returning to the task at hand.

“Maybe,” he allows.

The barbecue continues well into the evening, with you and Rangiku eventually eating a whole boar a piece. You spend a little time socializing with the Eleventh Division's top fighters, mostly exchanging advice on technical swordsmanship, and come away with more than one request for a sparring match. Unfortunately there are too few hours in the day to deal with them all.

Your own Division is a center of calm tonight. No pressing deadlines, no major missions to handle, no reports to file. You have some time.

The time is just right to sneak off and visit Yoruichi, so under the guise of an early retirement you return your quarters and slip through the hidden portal. Yoruichi's outer quarters are cool and dark right now, and it seems she may not be in just now. Your reiatsu sensing confirms that much.

In fact you're beginning to wonder if you should go back when you hear a faint, somewhat ominous splat from the inner room, where the futons are laid out. Too loud to be water dripping from something, and it sounded almost viscous. But it certainly wasn't loud enough to be anything especially large, and it probably wasn't dangerous.

Just... somewhat strange.

You find a candle and light it with kidō. The warm, dancing flame brightens the room up from dark to merely dim.

Oh who am I kidding. Yoruichi's gone full hollow and is about to try eating us in the not-fun way.

>>42739399

>>
>>42739319
You cautiously slide the door to Yoruichi's bedroom open, the movement rendered utterly silent by years of training for sneaking and assassinations while you were in the Onmitsukidō. You lead with the candle, and peer around the room until you spot the sound of the noise you'd heard.

Not like it was difficult.

On the wall, near the floor, is what looks to be blood clinging to the surface. As if guided by the strokes of an unseen brush, it begins to form into characters. It's a message, meant for Yoruichi in particular. You can't help but read it, because by the time you realize what's happening you've already started.

“I know what you're thinking: don't worry, I took the usual precautions.”

“Of course not all change is evil, and I know you hold Lady Riku in the highest regard. I don't think she'd use her shinreiryoku for ill ends either, but just the fact that she has it is a problem.”

“As I've told you, I can't predict what will come of this.”

“She may be as much of a threat to herself as she is to the spiritual order, so I'd still like you to bring her to me.”

“Use some pretense to convince her.”

“Hope you're well. Things are boring here.”

You hear Yoruichi as she joins you a few moments later, setting down on a pile of cushions like they're a throne. Luckily neither of you are particularly surprised despite the obvious awkwardness of the scene, and you're both fairly able to keep your heads.

“... like that 'written in the victim's blood' sorta deal, innit?” she jokes.

“A little,” you admit. “Kisuke probably hates it when people say that, doesn't he?”

“Course he does,” Yoruichi snorts as you lean into the same pile of cushions. “He's got no sense of humor sometimes. But I bet you've got quite a few questions.”

“Lay 'em on me, I'm tired of this nonsense anyway.”

>Write-in?

Calm down, it was for everyone involved keeping their composure despite the surprise factor involved. Yoruichi got a 100 and Riku got a 95, so they're both cool as a cucumber in the freezer.

Worst that could have happened is everyone gets caught entirely flat-footed and things get REALLY FUCKING AWKWARD for a while.

I think it has to do with our bankai being a fusion of shinigami, hollow, and kitsune, making us a transcendent being just like Aizen and Ichigo were for a while (though I suspect that our raw power caps out quite a bit before those two monsters, and Yamamoto could still give us a scolding, not even to mention Hyousube Ichibei.

No, Nimaiya Ouetsu was scared of us.

Ichibei is the mad monk and he fears -no one-.

That reminds me, I'm sad we left the Royal Realm so soon because I wanted to ask Ouetsu if it was really okay that his comrades just decided to leave him to it when someone technically invaded the Royal Realm and unleashed an unearthly power. Only to have it turn out that they were all right behind us with weapons ready the whole time, thanks to Shutara's fake background technique, also reminding us that we're not the best just yet

He's worried for Riku as well at least a little. Like it could be that that much power could burn Riku from the inside out because her body isn't built to withstand it, honestly even if the concealing it is hurtful, monitoring us makes sense.
>>
>>42739688
>>42739741
I'm not sure that's accurate. Is there any evidence the dynamic isn't just Urahara coming to Yoru with his doubts and misgivings, and her doing the best she can to dispel and explain them? I don't see anything in the message nor in her reaction to us seeing them that indicates she agrees with him.

Given we both rolled really well to keep our composure, and Urahara being concerned about Riku's power is pretty reasonable, I'd say everyone trying to milk the drama from this by thinking that she's cheating on us/is preparing to murder us again despite killing us the first time really messing her up/whatever is at minimum poor readers. I mean fuck, when Ichigo learned that his badge was a tracking device/power limiter, he wasn't that mad at Ukitake and he barely even knows that guy as "Rukia's boss".

Yeah but we don't know the long-term effects of Hollowfication and we never told her about Mae. I kind of see this more as reasonable concern for a loved one and a man who we know is deeply paranoid. If anything the only thing to be surprised about is we didn't suspect it sooner.

“He could have asked,” you observe wearily. “Maybe you should tell me everything? Get it all out in the open.”

Yoruichi sighs to herself, settling deeper into the cushions as if the comfort could make what she has to say somehow less uncomfortable. “Kisuke's my oldest friend, and I've trusted him for centuries. So when he asked me to do him a favor on the quiet a few months ago, I made a promise I immediately regretted.”

“See, he doesn't know the only thing left between us is tossing the bouquet. So asking me to keep tabs on you never struck him as being a problem. And when he told me that Tenkotsuki uses a kind of reiatsu only deities usually have... I wasn't sure what to do. He kept going on and on about what reiatsu like that MIGHT do in the hands of a shinigami.”

“You couldn't tell me because you'd promised Kisuke before he told you,” you conclude. “Do you trust me?”

“Of course,” Yoruichi insists, her tone unusually upset. “At first I agreed that Tenkotsuki's nature could make her dangerous, but of course I have complete faith in you. It's just that Kisuke doesn't share that faith. He always plans for the worst.”

“I keep telling him he's just being paranoid.”

“And the spiritual order?” you press.

“I told Kisuke already,” Yoruichi replies. “Even if you destroyed the whole universe, I'd trust you to put it back together the right way.”

You shut your eyes for a while, thinking to yourself in silence. “Would you kill me?”

After a while, your partner seems to find the right words. “I couldn't.”

"I'm sorry things turned out this way," she adds.

Honestly even then have we seen any evidence of Aizen continuing his experiments after what happened forty years ago? Like we don't know about the experimental hollows, or that he's been to Hueco Mundo yet, I'm surprised that he hasn't "come clean" and acted like the Vizard incident was a mistake on his part that he deeply regrets.
>>
>>42740281
let's meet up and explain it to 'em both. if Yoruichi trusts him, Rik might as well do the same.
>>
>>42740428

Because as-is, nobody suspects him and he's the least suspicious person to everyone that isn't perfectly aware of what he's done already. Fessing up to anything would make people wonder if he's ever done any other experimentation with Hollows, which would explain the freaky new ones that've been running around.

Also, he already pinned the blame on Kisuke, which would make it seem malicious by default even if he wouldn't horribly incriminate himself by confessing.
>>
>>42740554
I meant more come clean to us personally while also knowing that Riku could get in trouble with the whole associating with Arrancar thing. Like I can't remember him making any slipups since then, except maybe getting all his men killed in WWI?

“Right then,” you declare. “No more secrets from me, either. I've actually known what Tenkotsuki is for a while now.”

Yoruichi rolls onto her side to look at you curiously. “You do? I mean, she's told you?”

You nod. “She's actually a nine-tailed kitsune, who was called Tamamo no Mae. Heard of her?”

“Of course,” Yoruichi nods. “She was killed by two hunters a long time ago for something involving the Emperor.”

“Turns out she was murdered with seki-stone arrows,” you explain. “That left her spirit to wander, until it ran into me and took the place of my pride.”

“But how did she...” Yoruichi begins, before her voice falters. The look of sudden realization is quickly overshadowed by guilt... you'd forgotten that this was the reason you hadn't told her about Tenkotsuki in the first place. “I see.”

“I've kept this from you for so long,” you mutter, “because I didn't want you to dwell on how it happened. I know a part of you still feels guilty despite all reassurances... but yes. Rosa Rosette sacrificed her pride to set up this arrangement.”

“I think it was worth it.”

Yoruichi is quiet for a while before she finally asks a question. “There's no way seki stone could make it into the living world by accident, so does that mean...”

“Probably,” you reply. “There's at least one god who's not happy with Tenkotsuki, so you'd think we'd be keeping a lower profile. But in the heat of the moment yesterday, I kind of forgot.”

“About that,” your partner cocks an eyebrow, seemingly pleased for a change in subject. “What happened, exactly?”
(1/2)
>>
>>42740671
I dont' think he could. While Mayuri more or less has nothing resembling honor, respect, or basic human decency, he DOES have his own insane code that he's dedicated to following. Like, in his own twisted incomprehensible way, I honestly believe Mayuri is one of the more trustworthy Captains.
>>
>>42740688
You recount to her the entire story, from encountering the hollow to killing it, right up to and including your reforging of Tenkotsuki. You also explain to her how you convinced Oetsu to let you forge Rosa into her own zanpakuto, which seems to intrigue her.

“So it's more like an arrancar's sword, it seems,” she mutters. “I wonder if it even has a second stage?”

You shrug. “Who knows?”

It takes several long months before you see a good opportunity to drop in on Kisuke, and in that time two things happen that stick out in your memory.

In 1943, the war in Europe reaches a new stage with “Operation Gomorrah”: a concerted effort to destroy the shipyards, submarine pens, and heavy industry of the German city of Hamburg. For eight days and seven nights the bombs fell, razing the city beyond recognition and killing thirty thousand civilians. The Seireitei is put on high alert status as a result of the reports streaming in from the Valhallans, as the predominantly wooden cities of Japan are at even greater risk from such tactics.

In January of 1944, a more personal tragedy strikes home: Lord Kuchiki Ginrei passes away in his sleep. The service is a quiet one, in keeping with Ginrei's wishes, and only members of the noble Clans and Captains are invited. It's the only time you've ever seen Byakuya cry, but despite that he handled it with all the dignity you'd expect. It seems Ginrei really did impart some of his better characteristics onto his grandson after all. You just wish he could have seen the end of this stupid war in the living world, which worried him so in his waning years.

That month, you arrange to slip out of the Seireitei and into Karakura town. Kisuke meets you with a warm reception.

"Ah, Captains! It's been too long, welcome to my humble shop!"

He's got the act down pat.
>Shut it, we have stuff to talk about.

As much as you want to rearrange his face for what he put you and Yoruichi through, you hold back for the time being. “Thanks for what you did for Mirai, she's been doing quite well thanks to your invention.”

“Ah!” he exclaims as he escorts the two of you into his shop. “That's excellent news, Lady Riku.”

“I told him about your adoption,” Yoruichi explains.

The three of you sit, and Tessai brings out a pot of tea. He takes one look at you and begins to sweat... possibly sensing the danger in the situation, and quickly flees the scene.

“So, why have you come here?” Kisuke asks casually, peering out at you from under the brim of his hat.

“We were curious about the exiled shinigami, from that night,” Yoruichi asks, maintaining the image of normality. “What have they been up to?”

“Well,” Kisuke muses. “Seems they've contracted out to the Valhallans.”

“That explains how they're handling the war so well this time,” you reply. Honestly, you'd supposed something like that had happened.

Now could be a good time to surprise him with something...
>So, you do know Yoruichi and I are living together, right?

That hat... that fucking hat. You reach across the table and lift it from his head as you reveal the reason you're really here.

“You know I'm not happy with you, right?” you ask a bemused Kisuke as you try on his hat.

“About what, Lady Riku?” Kisuke asks, maintaining a facade of calm.

Yoruichi watches as you model Kisuke's hat for her. “I don't think it suits you.”

“You're right,” you admit, tossing the hat away. “Kisuke, you forced Yoruichi to make an impossible choice. And I'm not happy about it.”

“A choice?” Kisuke asks nervously.

“Between breaking a promise and lying to my lover,” Yoruichi explains.

The pieces fall together quickly from there, as Kisuke's eyes widen in surprise. “I... really didn't realize you swung that way, Yoruichi. Wow.”

“I usually don't,” she replies, her tone still congenial. “But that's beside the point, isn't it?”

“... it is,” Kisuke agrees. “So you found out, Riku?”

“I did,” you admit. “I was in the room when one of your messages arrived...”

“Don't say...”

“... it looked like a murder scene.”

“God damn it, Riku.”

he wasn't aware that RIku and Bestcat were knocking boots. Mainly because he made Yourichi promise but whatever, i don't really hold him accountable.

“I'm disappointed,” you admit. “You could have just asked, asshole.”

“I could have,” he admits in return. “But I chose not to. The power you have is something that requires caution.”

“Did it require going behind your friend's back?” you ask, venom creeping into your voice. “Did it require you to make Yoruichi hide it from me? You knew she was my Captain and mentor. You knew we were close.”

Yoruichi avoids eye contact with her old friend... and that may have been the worst thing.

Kisuke sighs deeply.

You figure Kisuke's conscience may have gotten the better of him, because he turns to you, kneels, and bows. His messy blonde hair actually touches the floor.

"That's a start," you grant him, "but I'd prefer an explanation."

Kisuke rises to his knees, and produces a small box. With a brief incantation he dissolves the box, retrieving a small purple sphere from within. He holds it between his fingers, looking you dead in the eye.

"This is the Hōgyoku: the tool I used to stabilize the hollowfied Captains. It possesses the ability to manipulate the boundaries between shinigami souls and hollows."

"I've seen that already, Kisuke," Yoruichi sighs. "I'm not impressed."

"Just listen, please," Kisuke asks quietly as Yoruichi takes it from her old friends hands and seems to analyze it in silence. "I created this object using artificially-created shinreishi: spirit particles that usually form the bodies of gods. Charging it with enough 'normal' reiatsu allows it to generate shinreiryoku, or divine spiritual energy."

Yoruichi's reiatsu spikes at the pronouncement. "How did you manage that?" she asks quietly.

"I'm clever," Kisuke smiles. "I also had a sample from a Valley of Screams to start with, so I guess I had an advantage there. But I created it in order to study the divine. What separates them from us mere mortals."

"It is my understanding of this item's power that led me to worry about Tenkotsuki's."

You explain to Kisuke that Tenkotsuki is actually a dead god who has become a part of your soul, skipping over the part where Yoruichi killed Rosa when she was still alive. He hangs on every word, and occasionally asks for clarification, until eventually he seems satisfied.

“Very well,” he nods. “I'll let it drop... it seems you and Tenkotsuki are stable for now.”

“So what about the rock?” you ask as Yoruichi hands the purple stone back to Kisuke. “What are you planning to do with it?”

“I'm trying to find a way to destroy it,” he admits. “I don't trust myself with this thing I've created, nor do I think anyone else should be allowed to obtain it. Unfortunately I've yet to find a means to do so... so for now I have to simply wait, and conduct more tests.”

After a time you and Yoruichi are obliged to return to the Seireitei, though you leave Kisuke on better terms than you'd expected. You still make it clear to him that you're deeply disappointed in him, but that you're willing to forgive if he earns it.

Before stepping through the Senkaimon, Yoruichi flashes you a sly grin...

>>
>>42743577
>Riku had the equivalent to the Tsar Bomba sitting on her hip this whole time

So what is it's equivalent now? Incidentally, how BTFO'd did Aizen get when Tenko actually manifested to lecture him? I don't believe that happened in canon outside Muramasa's shenanigans.
>>
>>42743584
>In canon there are only like 1-3 more total left that would fit.
Eh, most arrancar are actually remarkably loyal even if they are dicks. King Spooky, Pinky and String Bean are the only ones that show any inclination towards treachery, espada and numerous alike.
>>
>>42743617
>how BTFO'd did Aizen get when Tenko actually manifested to lecture him
Fucking hard. It only happened in canon like once, with Renji and Zabimaru.

But that was also a clear sign to Yamamoto and Unohana that not only did Riku still probably have Tenkotsuki's Bankai, but that their relationship was unusually close. And shinigami who are really "in the know" always like seeing that sort of thing.
>>
>>42743584

Also, you forgot Zommari, but he did fuck all before jobbing to Byakuya anyway.

Gods are a big deal, regardless of how high on the scale they are.

Also, as has been proven in the setting before, when you mix things together they tend to become greater than the sum of their parts.

here's some art I made of Riku with her cheeky smug mug.

Beat the ever-loving fuck out of him until he accepts that we're his superior?

Well, at 7 tails in Bankai was enough to put a good amount of fear in one of the Royal Guards.

9 tails is full power and likely is another 30% or even more power for Riku. Or even another whole level.

worked for Ichigo

... she literally killed everyone who touched her as a vengeful ghost, and nearly drove the Empire to ruin in life.

Even in the stories she's pretty goddamn powerful. In this case, with her being a sympathetic character, all that was just due to the sheer weight of her presence. So she's clearly not the Soul King, but she's a big deal. Especially next to the shinigami.

Fukkin saved.

Nice work, drawbro.
>>
>>42743949
I honestly suspect that on her own with seven tails she'd be a pushover, most of the power is coming from Riku herself.
>>
>>42743934
talk to him the only way he knows how to talk: by fightin, and put him to shame, then lead him by the nose with promises of the chance that he's worthy of being teh king.
>>
>>42743969
Yeah but they had to touch her death-rock first, and I thought driving the empire to ruin was done more through manipulaton and seduction than raw power. I guess I figured that when she was alive she wasn't at all specced for combat.

Also as proven by Ichigo the sum of the parts do not compare to the greater whole.

Neat

Pretty nice.

I imagine having Riku, Yoru, and Hats side-by-side with this expression plastered on their faces would probably be enough to deter any invasion on Soul Society.

I forget, would our bankai be able to overcome both Respira AND Zanka no Tachi: West?
>>
>>42744355
I think we're closing in on OMG's level at this point.
>>
>>42744326
blonde hair? it would seem more fitting for her to sport black hair, given the level of synchronization and bonding with Riku. The tails can stay golden fluffy though.
>>
>>42744393
I doubt that. I'm just more questioning if he uses his bankai, we'll be able to overcome his impenetrable armor of heat.
>>
>>42744471
Even if we did, he'd just slug us and our entire head would collapse.

And burn anyway.

Or he'd cut us, and we'd, well, burn anyway.

His bankai is grade A bullshit, man!
>>
>>42744586
Don't forget his ten trillion skeletons which signifies that he's killed more people than who have ever lived, several times over.
>>
>>42744638
He killed them, then their ghosts, then their ghost's dog, then their ghost's dog's ghost, then their ghost's dog's ghost's friend.

And so on.
>>
>>42744454
If it's any consolation, I'm using the head part in this pic as the basis for something I'm working on.
It's just... coming along really, really slowly.
And not to mention, I really should be finishing up that other thing for King's other quest.

It's even got the short eyebrows. That's actually fairly close.
